How Coachful uses AI
AI helps coaches spend less time on administration and more time with people. Here is what it does, what information it uses, and where you stay in control.

Your coaching content is not our training data
Coachful does not train its own AI models on your prompts, client records, or coaching content. We do not use one organization's private content to train a model for another organization. An AI feature may send relevant information to an external provider to produce a response; processing a request is different from training a model.
Why we use AI
AI helps draft content, organize ideas, summarize calls, transcribe speech, and surface useful context for a coach. It supports the work around coaching so the human relationship remains central.
What an AI feature may process
This depends on the feature. It can include your prompt, content or media you submit, and relevant information Michelle retrieves from your workspace to answer a question. Some scheduled reports may generate AI summaries under saved or default settings. We do not send an entire workspace to every AI request.
Who provides the AI
Coachful uses external services, including Anthropic for assistant tasks, Google for some generation, and Groq for transcription. Anthropic's commercial API terms prohibit training on customer content. Google's Gemini API terms distinguish paid and unpaid services. Provider terms, applicable account settings, safety exceptions, and retention rules govern their own handling, so we do not promise identical rules or zero retention across all features.
The controls you have
You decide what to ask creation tools to make or analyze. Organization owners can enable Sensitive Data Mode in Customize → Compliance to restrict AI access to client records; it is off by default and does not inspect information someone manually pastes into a prompt. Do not submit special-category or confidential clinical information to AI features.
People stay responsible
AI-generated text, images, transcripts, and summaries can be incomplete or wrong. Review them before relying on them or sharing them with clients. Coachful AI does not replace a coach's professional judgment, medical care, or emergency services.
