Coaching ROI Calculator
Show prospects the real return on investment from working with a coach.
What you'd pay per month for coaching
The question behind every "is coaching worth it?" is a maths question. This calculator takes the client's goal, current income and the cost of coaching, and shows the projected return, the break-even point and the benefits that do not fit in a spreadsheet. Coaches use it on sales pages and in discovery calls.
How to use this tool
- 1
Choose the goal: income, promotion, business growth, productivity or health.
- 2
Enter current income, the monthly cost of coaching and the program length.
- 3
Read the projected gain, ROI percentage and break-even week. The multipliers are conservative and shown in the result.
- 4
Share the page with a prospect, or embed the numbers in your proposal.
What the research says about coaching ROI
The most-cited figures come from ICF and PwC studies reporting median returns of several times the coaching fee for executive coaching, and from Metrix Global's 529% figure for a Fortune 500 program. Those are corporate numbers. For individuals, the honest framing is a modest, measurable gain on income or promotion timing, plus the benefits that are real but hard to price.
This calculator uses conservative multipliers by goal (10 to 35 percent) so the number survives scrutiny in a sales conversation.
Using ROI in a coaching sales conversation
Do not lead with it. Ask what the goal is worth to the client in their words first, then show the calculator as a sanity check. The number should confirm something they already believe, not convince them of something they do not.
Coaches on Coachful link the calculator from their sales page and their discovery-call booking confirmation, so prospects arrive having done the maths.
Questions coaches ask
What is the ROI of coaching?
Corporate studies report returns of several times the fee for executive coaching. For individuals, a 10 to 35 percent gain on income or business revenue over a program is a defensible range, before the intangible benefits. The calculator uses these ranges by goal type.
Is life coaching worth the money?
If the goal is measurable and the client is ready to act, usually yes: even a 10 percent income gain repays a $500 per month program in most cases. If the goal is vague, the answer is to clarify the goal first, which is what a good first session does.
How do I calculate the ROI of coaching?
Projected gain minus total investment, divided by total investment. Projected gain is current income times a conservative improvement rate for the goal. Break-even is the month when cumulative gain passes cumulative cost.
Can I use this calculator with clients?
Yes, that is what it is for. Share the link, or walk through it on a call. It works best after the client has stated the goal and what it is worth in their own words.
Is the coaching ROI calculator free?
Yes. No signup and nothing stored. Change the inputs to model different program lengths or prices.
