Top 7 Habit Tracking Apps for Health Coaches in 2026

Top 7 Habit Tracking Apps for Health Coaches in 2026

The best habit tracking apps for health coaches do more than count ticks. They put a small daily action (drink water before coffee, walk ten minutes after lunch, lights out by 10:30) in front of the client every day, show the coach who is slipping before the next session, and connect that data to the program, the check-ins and the billing. So the question that decides it is simple: do you want a standalone tracker you bolt onto your other tools, or one place where habits, sessions, payments and client conversations live together?

For most health coaches running multi-week programs, our pick is Coachful. Habits, streaks, morning and evening check-ins, booking, agreements and payments sit under one login for you and one branded app for your client. We make Coachful, so weigh that, and read the honest limits below: it is not HIPAA-certified and it does not sync with Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop or Oura. The other six tools each win in a specific situation, and we say which.

What do health coaches need from a habit tracking app?

Health coaches need a tracker that turns a behavior goal into a daily action the client actually sees, then gives the coach a quick read on adherence between sessions. Workout logging and macro counting are useful extras, but the core job is consistent small actions over weeks.

Research on habit formation backs the slow, repetitive approach. A review in the British Journal of General Practice describes habit formation as repeating a simple action in a consistent context until it becomes automatic, and reports that in one study automaticity took a median of 66 days to plateau, with a range of 18 to 254 days. That is why habit tracking for health clients has to outlast the first enthusiastic fortnight. (For background, see the overview of habit on Wikipedia.)

In practice, a health coach's workflow asks five things of the software:

  • Habits tied to a cue. "Protein at breakfast" or "10-minute walk after lunch", each attached to an existing routine, with a streak or progress count the client sees on their phone. Our habit stacking guide covers how to anchor them.
  • Short daily check-ins. Energy, sleep, mood and cravings in under a minute, morning or evening, so you see patterns rather than a Friday recap.
  • A coach view of adherence. Who is consistent, who has gone quiet and who needs a nudge, without opening 30 client profiles. Our article on habit-tracking dashboards for clients goes deeper.
  • Program structure. Week 1 is hydration and sleep, week 3 adds a vegetable target, week 6 tackles evening snacking. The tracker should follow the program, not sit beside it.
  • The business around it. Discovery calls, intake questions, a coaching agreement, recurring payments and reminders. If habits live in one app and billing in another, you reconcile them by hand.

There is also a scope question unique to this niche. Health coaching is behavior change support, not treatment. A habit app should never be used to diagnose, prescribe a diet for a medical condition or adjust medication. The National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching sets out the coach's role as supporting client-led change, and good practice is to refer to a physician, registered dietitian or mental health professional when a client reports symptoms, disordered eating, medication questions or a condition that needs clinical care. That shapes the software choice: health coaches rarely need clinical charting, but they do need clear intake questions and an agreement that states the scope.

Which habit tracking apps for health coaches are on the shortlist?

Ranking criteria: one login for the whole client journey, daily habit and check-in delivery between sessions, total stack cost, and setup effort (including a free white-glove build).

How did we choose and rank these tools?

We started from the tools health coaches most often compare for client habit tracking, kept the ones whose documented features include habits, metrics or between-session activities, and ranked them against the four criteria above. We did not run hands-on tests; this ranking is based on what each vendor documents on its own site, its pricing page in October 2026, and public review profiles.

Three things weighed most heavily:

  1. Daily delivery. Can the client see today's habits and answer a check-in on their phone, and can the coach see adherence without exporting data?
  2. Total stack cost. A cheap tracker that needs separate tools for booking, payments, agreements, email and a website often costs more than one platform. We priced each tool at 5, 15 and 40 clients.
  3. Fit for health coaching specifically. Nutrition support helps; pure strength programming does not. That is why TrueCoach, a capable strength app, did not make this list.

Practice Better and CoachAccountable are full coaching back offices rather than habit apps, so they sit mid-table: strong at administration, less focused on daily habit delivery. If you want the wider category view, our guide to coaching software with habit tracking features covers platforms beyond this niche, and our roundup of the best health coaching software looks at the whole practice stack.

1. Coachful: habits, check-ins and the business in one app

A client goal page with daily habits on a laptop and a coaching flows library with morning and evening check-ins on a tablet
Coachful's demo goal page with linked daily habits on the laptop, and the coaching flows library with morning and evening check-ins on the tablet.

Coachful is a coaching platform built for coaches who deliver programs, not just sessions. For a health coach, that means the habit tracker is part of the program itself: you build a multi-week program with weekly goals, daily tasks and habits, and the client sees today's actions, their streaks and their goals' progress bars inside an app carrying your branding. The same login runs your booking page, agreements, payments, courses, community, website and email.

How habits and check-ins work

Each habit lives inside a program or goal. A client in an eight-week energy program might have four habits in week one (water before coffee, protein at breakfast, a 10-minute walk after lunch, screens off by 10 pm) and see each one's progress count and streak on their Growing Habits dashboard.

Check-ins run as coaching flows. Coachful's library includes a Welcome flow plus Morning Check-in and Evening Check-in flows, so you could ask a client to rate energy and set an intention in the morning, then note sleep readiness and cravings at night. The short video below walks through how check-ins are set up.

Goals tie the pieces together. On a client's goal page, the Daily momentum section groups the linked tasks and habits, with daily and weekly reflection tabs underneath, so "feel steady energy through the afternoon" connects visibly to the habits that serve it.

What the coach sees between sessions

Every client record holds goals, check-ins, habits, notes, intake answers, tags, payments and sessions, plus a status of thriving, active, quiet or at risk. The client dashboard rolls that up, so on a Monday morning you can see who went quiet over the weekend and message them before the slip becomes a dropout. Michelle, the built-in AI assistant, works from that live practice data: she can brief you before a session on how a client's habits and check-ins have gone, summarize recorded sessions and draft follow-up emails. Questions and planning are included in your membership; confirmed builds and changes use AI credits.

Health coaches who also coach food and movement can add the Fitness & Nutrition pack: nutrition targets up to calories and macros, meal plans, recipes, food lookup and barcode scanning, private progress photos and measurements, weekly check-ins and challenges. See the Fitness & Nutrition page for details.

The business side health coaches usually bolt on

Booking pages handle availability rules, buffers, minimum notice and time zones, with two-way Google, Apple and Outlook calendar sync and intake questions on booking (useful for a scope screen such as "Are you currently under medical care for this?"). Coaching agreements go out for e-signature before the first call. Payments run through your own Stripe or Razorpay account with subscriptions, payment plans and coupons, and Coachful charges a 0% platform fee, so you pay only the processor. Group programs create a cohort group automatically on enrollment, which suits a six-week reset run for ten people at once.

Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. From Create, choose "We'll build it for you", describe what you need (a habit-based program, a website, a discovery-call funnel, an email sequence) and attach up to 8 reference links and 10 files. The Coachful team builds it inside your account, usually within about 24 hours. Nothing is invented: no fake credentials, testimonials or prices, and gaps are left for you. One recent example: a menopause and midlife health coach starting from nothing got a five-page site in sage and cream, with every button leading to a free 20-minute consultation. It does not cover recording videos, logo design or ad management. Read more about the free white-glove service.

Where Coachful falls short for health coaches

  • No Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop or Oura sync, and Apple Health sync is not publicly available. Steps and sleep are logged by the client, not pulled from a wearable.
  • Not HIPAA-certified and no BAA, so it is not a place for clinical records or insurance billing.
  • No PayPal and no permanent free plan.
  • The client app ships under the Coachful listing with your branding, not under your own App Store account.

Who it suits: solo health coaches and small teams who sell programs, want daily habits and check-ins delivered between sessions, and would rather replace four to six tools than connect them. Coachful holds a 4.5 rating on Trustpilot from 21 reviews (seen October 2026). Current plans: (Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients). 2. Everfit: a free start for movement and nutrition habits

Everfit homepage introducing its fitness and nutrition coaching app for trainers and coaches
Everfit's homepage in October 2026.

Everfit is a fitness coaching app covering workouts, habits, nutrition and messaging, priced by client count. For a health coach whose programs lean on movement and food, it offers the most generous free entry on this list: the Starter plan is free forever for up to five clients, as listed in October 2026.

Its fit for health coaching comes from bundling habits with nutrition in the same client app, so movement and food habits do not need two separate tools. That makes Everfit a reasonable choice for a coach running a lifestyle program with a strong exercise component, especially in the first year when the client count is low.

Pricing scales cleanly with roster size. Pro starts at $19/mo for 5 clients ($16/mo annual), then $29 for 10 clients, $49 for 20, $95 for 50, $140 for 100 and $290 for 300. Studio starts at $105/mo for 50 clients and scales to 500. A 30-day trial requires no card and no contract.

The limits matter for health coaches who sell programs. Automation (Autoflow), payments and meal plans are paid add-ons, so the listed price is not the full cost if you want clients to pay inside the app or receive meal plans. There is no course builder, no website or funnel pages and no email marketing, so you will still need separate tools to find and enroll clients. Our data does not show booking pages or coaching agreements either. On Trustpilot, Everfit had 2.7 stars from 16 reviews when we checked in October 2026, a small sample worth reading before you commit.

For a coach whose clients mostly need a nudge to move, Everfit's free tier is hard to argue with. For a coach whose habits revolve around sleep, stress, hydration and mindset, the workout-first design may feel like more app than the program needs.

Pick it over Coachful if you coach five or fewer clients, want to pay nothing for tracking while you start out, and your program is mostly exercise plus basic nutrition, with booking and billing handled elsewhere.

3. ABC Trainerize: streaks and badges for clients who like a game

ABC Trainerize homepage presenting its personal training and habit coaching app
ABC Trainerize's homepage in October 2026.

Some clients respond to visible streaks and rewards more than to any coaching conversation. ABC Trainerize leans into that. Its pricing page, checked in October 2026, lists custom and premade habits, habit streaks and badges, milestones and in-app messaging on every plan, including the free one. Pro plans add groups and challenges.

Trainerize is a fitness and personal-training app at heart: workouts, habits, nutrition tracking and messaging, priced by client seats. Its comparison table describes coaching clients as having access to programs, workouts, meal tracking, habits and groups. For a health coach, the habit module and meal tracking are the parts that matter; the AI workout builder and on-demand workout library matter less unless movement is central to your offer.

On price, the free Basic plan covers one client. Grow is $10/mo for two clients ($9 annual), and Pro 5 is $25/mo for five clients ($23 annual). Pro tiers continue at 15, 30, 50, 75, 100 and 200 clients; the pricing FAQ puts the 50-client tier at $135/mo, but we could not verify the 15-client price on the page. Studio Plus starts at $275/mo for 500 clients. The 30-day trial includes unlimited clients and needs no card; if you do not upgrade, the account reverts to the free one-client plan.

The catch is add-ons. Below Studio, scheduling and payments come through a Business add-on at $25/mo, Stripe Integrated Payments is listed at $10/mo, video coaching at $10/mo and Advanced Nutrition Coaching at $20/mo on smaller Pro tiers or $45/mo from Pro 30. A Pro custom branded app costs a one-time $169. There is no course builder, website or email marketing, and an older profile reports that client data export leaves out messages, photos and attachments. Trustpilot showed 3.1 stars from 100 reviews in October 2026.

Pick it over Coachful if your clients are motivated by badges and gamified streaks, your offer is fitness-led, and you are happy to add scheduling and payments as separate add-ons.

4. Practice Better: charting for health coaches inside a practice

Practice Better homepage presenting its practice management platform for wellness practitioners
Practice Better's homepage in October 2026.

Practice Better serves a different health coach: one who works in or alongside a wellness or nutrition practice and needs practice management first. It covers scheduling, telehealth, charting, billing, programs and a client portal. If your day involves charting notes on clients and coordinating with practitioners, that orientation is the reason to look at it.

Habit tracking is not where it leads. The feature data we hold centers on charting, programs and the portal, and does not list a dedicated habit streak tracker, so test how daily habits and logs would work during the trial rather than assuming. Programs are its main vehicle for between-session content, and evergreen programs only start on the Plus plan.

Pricing as listed in October 2026:

  • Sprout: $0/mo for 3 clients, 1 practitioner and 100 MB of storage.
  • Starter: $35/mo ($25 annual) for 10 clients.
  • Professional: $69/mo ($59 annual) for 300 clients.
  • Plus: $99/mo ($89 annual) for unlimited clients, with evergreen programs, portal branding, a custom URL and SMS.
  • Team: $155/mo ($145 annual) for 2 practitioners, adding more at $50 each.

The free trial runs 14 days on paid plans and 30 days on Team, with no contracts. Payments go through Practice Better Payments, powered by Stripe; rates are not listed. An older profile notes there is no website builder or funnel pages, so marketing lives elsewhere. Each account below Team has a single practitioner. Trustpilot showed 3.8 stars from 87 reviews in October 2026.

For a health coach who sells programs to the public, the gaps are the branded experience (locked to Plus) and the missing website and funnels. For one embedded in a practice, the charting depth may outweigh both.

Pick it over Coachful if you work within a wellness or nutrition practice, need charting and telehealth as your core tools, and daily habit streaks are secondary.

5. CoachAccountable: metrics and action plans for a small roster

CoachAccountable homepage presenting its coaching back office for sessions, action plans and metrics
CoachAccountable's homepage in October 2026.

CoachAccountable takes a numbers-first view of accountability. It is a coaching back office with sessions, action plans, metrics, worksheets, courses, invoicing and agreements. Health coaches use the metrics side to track anything countable (glasses of water, hours of sleep, servings of vegetables) and the action plans to set weekly commitments.

That makes it a decent match for a coach who thinks in measurable targets and wants a client to report numbers rather than tick a habit box. It is less suited to a visual streak experience on the phone: an older profile notes there is no native mobile app, which matters when a habit check needs to take five seconds.

Pricing is per active client, which is the main thing to model. As listed in October 2026: Starter $20/mo for 2 active clients, Level 1 $40/mo for 5, Level 2 $70/mo for 10, Level 3 $120/mo for 20, Level 4 $250/mo for 50 and Level 5 $400/mo for 100. A 30-day trial has no card requirement and no limits. That scale works for a high-ticket 1:1 practice, but a health coach running a 30-person group reset will feel it quickly.

Other limits from an older profile: no landing pages, website or marketing automation, and processor fees apply through Stripe, Square or PayPal. CoachAccountable also states it is not HIPAA compliant. On the plus side, public reviewers rate it highly: 4.8 stars from 47 Trustpilot reviews in October 2026.

Pick it over Coachful if you coach a small number of 1:1 clients, prefer tracking numeric metrics in a web app, and need PayPal or Square as a payment option.

6. Quenza: reflective exercises between sessions

Quenza homepage presenting its client activities and worksheet app for coaches and therapists
Quenza's homepage in October 2026.

Quenza comes from the therapy and coaching worksheet tradition. It delivers activities, worksheets and programs to clients through a client app, with chat. For a health coach whose habit work is reflective (food and mood journaling, stress awareness exercises, values work before a lifestyle change), that format fits well.

What it is not, according to the data we hold, is a streak-style habit tracker. Habit practice is built from activities inside programs; our data does not show a dedicated streak counter or a daily habit dashboard, so check the trial if visible streaks matter to your clients.

Pricing as listed in October 2026: Spark $25/mo ($20 annual) for 1 professional and 10 clients, Growth $50/mo ($40 annual) for 250 clients, Impact $125/mo ($100 annual) for 400 clients, Collective $160/mo ($128 annual) for up to 3 professionals and 500 clients, and a custom Beyond tier. Growth is the value point: 250 clients for $50/mo is generous for a coach with a growing group roster. A 30-day trial needs no card.

The gaps are on the business side. Quenza does not process client payments today; invoicing and digital products are marked planned. An older profile notes no scheduling or video calls. So you would run Quenza next to a booking tool, a payment processor and possibly a website builder. Its Trustpilot score was 4.3 from 8 reviews in October 2026, a very small sample.

Pick it over Coachful if your between-session work is mostly reflective worksheets and exercises, you want 250 clients at a low flat price, and you already have booking and payments sorted elsewhere.

7. HubFit: habits and check-ins for a big roster on one flat fee

HubFit homepage presenting its online training app with programs, nutrition and habits
HubFit's homepage in October 2026.

HubFit's appeal is simple arithmetic. Its Standard plan is $39/mo ($33 annual) for up to 50 clients, as listed in October 2026, which makes it the cheapest per client on this list once you pass about 15 clients. It covers programs, nutrition, habits and check-ins, and it is free for clients.

For a health coach running group lifestyle programs, that combination of habits, check-ins and nutrition in one client app is the relevant part. HubFit's roots are in online fitness training, so expect workout programming to be prominent.

Plan details matter. Branding and payments start at Premium, $69/mo ($57 annual) for up to 100 clients. Team members and Zapier start at Ultimate, $119/mo ($99 annual) for 100 clients, scaling to $209 for 200, $289 for 300, $359 for 400 and $419 for 500. A branded app is a $189/mo add-on. Every plan has a 14-day trial, and HubFit lists no platform fee beyond Stripe processing.

An older profile notes no scheduling or booking, no video calls, no contracts and no website. That means a health coach on HubFit still needs a booking tool, an e-signature tool and a site, and on Standard, a separate way to take payment. Public reviewers are enthusiastic: Trustpilot showed 5 stars from 390 reviews in October 2026.

Pick it over Coachful if you already have booking, agreements and a website you are happy with, coach a fitness-leaning roster of 20 to 50 clients, and want the lowest possible per-client cost for the tracking app alone.

How do the features compare side by side?

Coachful is the only tool here that covers habits, check-ins, booking, payments, agreements, courses, community, website and email in one subscription. "Not in our data" means the vendor information we checked did not confirm the feature either way.

What does each app cost at 5, 15 and 40 clients?

At small rosters, the free tiers from Everfit and Trainerize are cheapest for tracking alone; past 15 clients, flat-priced tools pull ahead, and per-client pricing climbs fast. The more useful number is the total stack: what you also pay for booking, agreements, payments, email and a website.

As an illustration of stack cost: a coach on a $39 tracker who also pays separately for a scheduler, an e-signature tool, an email platform and a website builder is running five subscriptions and five logins. Add up your own versions of those lines before comparing sticker prices.

How would a health coach set up habit tracking in Coachful?

Here is how a health coach might build an eight-week "Energy Reset" program in Coachful, from booking to week-eight review. The program, habits and wording are an example; adapt them to your method.

A client portal showing a 90-day reset journey and progress tabs on a laptop in a kitchen
The demo client portal in Coachful, showing the 'Your 90-Day Reset' journey with Overview, Programs, Sessions, Progress and Documents tabs.
  1. Set up the discovery call. Create a free 20-minute booking page with your availability, a 15-minute buffer and 24 hours' minimum notice. Add intake questions: main goal, typical sleep and energy, and a scope screen ("Are you under medical care or taking medication related to this goal?"). A yes is a prompt to suggest the client loop in their doctor, not a reason to adjust the plan yourself.
  2. Send the agreement. Write a coaching agreement that states coaching is not medical or nutritional treatment and when you will refer out. Coachful sends it for e-signature before the first call and stores it on the client record.
  3. Create the offer and payment. Connect your Stripe account and set up the program as a one-time price or a payment plan, with a coupon for early sign-ups if you like.
  4. Build the program week by week. Week 1: water before coffee and screens off by 10 pm. Week 2: add protein at breakfast. Week 3: a 10-minute walk after lunch. Each week gets a goal, a few daily tasks and the habits. Keep it to three or four active habits at a time.
  5. Turn on check-ins. Add the Morning Check-in (energy 1 to 5, one intention) and the Evening Check-in (sleep readiness, cravings, one win). Short beats thorough; a check-in that takes three minutes gets skipped.
  6. Link habits to a goal. Create the goal "steady energy through the afternoon" so the client sees their habits feed one visible progress bar.
  7. Review weekly from the client dashboard. Sort by status. Message anyone marked quiet or at risk the same day, and ask Michelle for a briefing before each session so you open with what changed. Our weekly habit review templates give prompts for that call.
  8. Run it as a group, optionally. If you sell the reset to a cohort, enrollment creates the cohort group automatically, and a weekly video event becomes the group check-in.
  9. Add the follow-up. Build an email sequence that goes out after week eight, offering a maintenance program to clients who want to keep going.

The video below shows how programs are built inside Coachful.

If you would rather not build it yourself, describe the program in a white-glove request and the Coachful team will build the outline and written material in your account. For the coaching method behind the setup, see our habit coaching framework and the guide to micro-goals and habit loops.

What mistakes should health coaches avoid with habit apps?

The most common mistake is assigning too many habits at once. Five new habits in week one usually means five abandoned habits by week three. Start with two or three and add one at a time, which matches the slow, context-bound repetition the research describes.

  • Tracking outcomes instead of actions. "Lose 2 kg" is not a habit; "vegetables at lunch" is. Track the action and review outcomes in session.
  • Treating a missed day as failure. Streak counters can make one missed day feel like a reset to zero. Tell clients up front that missing once is normal, and look at the weekly pattern.
  • Reading data you never act on. If you collect daily check-ins, set a fixed time each week to review them and reach out. Unread data teaches clients that logging does not matter.
  • Drifting out of scope. A habit app that asks about blood sugar readings or medication doses invites advice you should not give. Keep check-in questions behavioral, and refer when a client reports symptoms, disordered eating or a condition needing clinical care.
  • Storing clinical records in a coaching app. Coachful and the other coaching tools here are not built for protected health records. If your work requires that, use a clinical system for those records.
  • Choosing on sticker price alone. A cheap tracker plus four other subscriptions is rarely cheap. Count every tool you will pay for and log into.

Our list of mistakes new health coaches make covers the business side of these errors.

Which habit tracking app should a health coach choose?

Choose Coachful if you sell multi-week programs and want daily habits, check-ins, goals, booking, agreements, payments and your website in one place, with a free white-glove build to get started. It is our top pick among habit tracking apps for health coaches because the habit data sits right next to the rest of the client relationship, so adherence turns into a conversation, not a spreadsheet.

The alternatives each have a clear lane. Everfit and ABC Trainerize suit fitness-led coaches with few clients who want a free start and gamified streaks. Practice Better fits coaches inside a wellness or nutrition practice that needs charting. CoachAccountable fits a small, metrics-minded 1:1 roster. Quenza suits reflective, worksheet-based habit work. HubFit is the lowest-cost tracker for a large fitness-leaning roster if your other tools are already in place.

Coachful does not suit you if you need wearable sync, HIPAA-covered records, PayPal or an app under your own App Store account. If none of those apply, start the free trial and request a white-glove build of your first program.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best habit tracking app for health coaches?

For health coaches who run multi-week programs, Coachful is our pick because habits, streaks, check-ins, booking and payments live in one app. Everfit and ABC Trainerize are strong for fitness-led coaches on a free plan, and HubFit is the cheapest per client for larger rosters. The right choice depends on whether you want a standalone tracker or a full practice platform.

Can health coaches use a general habit tracker app instead?

Consumer habit trackers work for the client but give the coach no view of adherence, no check-ins and no link to sessions or billing. You end up asking clients for screenshots. A coaching platform with habit tracking keeps the data where you can act on it.

Does Coachful sync with Apple Health, Fitbit or Garmin?

No. Coachful does not sync with Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop or Oura, and Apple Health sync is not publicly available. Clients log habits, check-ins and measurements themselves in the app.

Is Coachful HIPAA compliant?

Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and does not sign a BAA, so it is not meant for clinical records or insurance billing. It is GDPR-ready and built for coaching data such as goals, habits, check-ins and session notes.

What is Coachful's free white-glove service?

It is a done-for-you build included on every plan. You describe what you want (a habit-based program, website, funnel, email sequence or form), attach reference links and files, and the Coachful team builds it inside your account, usually within about 24 hours. It does not include recording videos, logo design or ad management.

How many habits should a health coaching client track at once?

Most coaches start with two or three and add one as the earlier ones become routine. Research summarized in the British Journal of General Practice found automaticity took a median of 66 days to plateau in one study, so piling on habits early tends to backfire.

Which habit apps include nutrition tracking?

Everfit, ABC Trainerize and HubFit include nutrition features, with some parts sold as add-ons on Everfit and Trainerize. Coachful's Fitness & Nutrition pack adds nutrition targets up to calories and macros, meal plans, recipes, food lookup and barcode scanning. Keep nutrition guidance within your training and scope, and refer to a registered dietitian for medical nutrition needs.

Is there a free habit tracking app for health coaches?

Everfit's Starter plan is free for up to five clients, ABC Trainerize's Basic plan is free for one client and Practice Better's Sprout plan is free for three, as listed in October 2026. Coachful has a free trial but no permanent free plan.

Can I run group habit challenges for health clients?

Yes, on several of these tools. In Coachful, enrolling clients in a program creates a cohort group automatically, with group chat, a community feed and video events; the Fitness & Nutrition pack also includes challenges. ABC Trainerize lists groups and challenges on its Pro plans.

When should a health coach refer a client instead of coaching habits?

Refer when a client reports new or worsening symptoms, signs of disordered eating, questions about medication, or a condition that needs medical or psychological care. Habit coaching can continue alongside that care when the treating professional agrees, but the app should never replace it.
