Done for You Coaching Website: Agency, DIY or Free Build

There are three ways to end up with a coaching website you did not have to wrestle with: hire a designer or agency, use a good template and do it yourself over a weekend, or hand it to a build service. A done for you coaching website is the first or the third, and the difference between those two matters more than most coaches expect, because it decides who can change your site next month and where your booking and payments live.
On Coachful there is a fourth wrinkle. Our team builds coaching websites for coaches on any plan, for free, inside the coach's own account. You fill in a short form, attach your copy and photos, and we reply by email with next steps, usually within around 24 hours.
Below you will find what a finished coaching site should actually contain, an honest comparison of the three routes, the questions to ask an agency before you sign anything, a weekend plan if you want to build it yourself, and exactly how to ask us to build it for you.
What a done-for-you coaching website should include
"Done" is doing a lot of work in that phrase. A site that looks finished but sends the booking button to an empty calendar link is a brochure. Before you compare routes, agree with yourself on what done means. For most coaches it is this list.
The pages
- Homepage that says who you help and what changes for them, with one clear next step above the fold.
- About page with your story, your training and why a client should trust you. Our guide to the life coach About me page has three sample drafts.
- Work with me or Services page that names two or three offers and what each includes.
- Booking page or an embedded calendar for a free or paid first call.
- Contact page with a form that saves somewhere you will actually see it.
- Privacy and terms linked from the footer.
- Optional but useful: a FAQ, a testimonials section, a blog or newsletter signup, and a page for a free resource.
The parts that make it work
- Every "Book a call" button goes to a real calendar with your real availability, in the visitor's time zone.
- Offers can be paid for on the site, with the money going to your own account.
- It reads well on a phone, which is where most people will first see it.
- It runs on your own domain, with a page title and description on each page so search engines know what it is about.
- You can change a sentence yourself without emailing anyone.
That last point is the one that separates a website you own from a website you rent from a person.

Designer or agency, DIY, or a free build: the honest comparison
Each route has a fair use case. This table describes the trade-offs; it does not put prices on them, because designer and agency fees vary enormously by country, experience and scope.
| What matters | Designer or agency | DIY with templates | Coachful free build |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who does the work | A hired person or team | You | The Coachful team |
| What you pay | A project fee, often plus hourly changes | Your time | Nothing on top of your Coachful subscription |
| Custom design | The most freedom, including logo and brand work | As far as the template and your patience go | Designed in your colors and fonts, from Coachful templates and sections |
| Booking and payments | Usually linked out to other tools | Built in if your platform has them | Built in: calendar, offer pages and checkout on the same site |
| Editing later | Depends on the platform they chose and whether you can log in | You, any time | You, any time, with the normal editors |
| Speed to first version | Depends on their schedule and the scope | As fast as your evenings allow | A reply with next steps usually within around 24 hours |
| Ongoing marketing | Often available as a paid add-on | Up to you | Not included |
Hire an agency if you need something none of the other routes give you: a brand identity from scratch, a logo, custom illustration, or someone to run your marketing each month. A good designer is worth it when the design itself is part of what you sell.
Build it yourself if you enjoy it and already know what each page should say. On Coachful, the website builder starts from 30 designed homepages that fill in your business name, offers, prices and booking links for you.
Use the free build if you know what you want your visitors to do, you have most of the words or can say them out loud, and you would rather spend the week coaching.
If you hire a designer: seven questions to ask first
Coaches tend to find out the answers to these after the invoice. Ask before.
- Which platform will the site be built on, and whose account is it in? You want the account in your name, with you as the owner.
- Can I change text and photos myself without breaking the layout? Ask them to show you, live, on a similar site.
- Where does the "Book a call" button go? If the answer is a separate scheduling tool, ask who sets it up and who pays for it.
- How do clients pay? A checkout that lives on another service is one more login for you and one more step for the buyer.
- What happens when I want a new page in six months? Get the hourly rate or the retainer terms in writing.
- Who writes the copy? Many designers expect you to supply it. Some charge separately for writing.
- What do I get at handover? Logins, image files, fonts, and a short video showing how to edit the site.
None of these are traps. A good designer will answer them quickly and will respect you for asking.
If you build it yourself: a two-day plan
A first coaching website does not need a month. It needs two focused days and a few decisions made before you open the editor.
Saturday morning: decide
- Write one sentence: "I help [who] [get what] without [the thing they dread]." Example: "I help mid-career nurses change careers without starting over at entry level."
- Pick the single action a visitor should take. For most new coaches it is booking a free 20- or 30-minute call.
- List your offers with what is included. If you have one offer, that is fine.
Saturday afternoon: choose a template
Choose a design built for your kind of coaching. In Coachful the gallery has five shelves (business, wellness, performance, creative and life), and each template is written for a fictional sample coach in a real niche. Applying one creates a private draft filled with your business name, offers, prices and booking links, and your live site does not change until you make it your homepage.

Sunday: write and publish
- Homepage headline. Lead with the outcome. "Eat well without starting over every Monday" (from the Orchard sample) beats "Holistic nutrition coaching".
- Three short sections: who it is for, how it works, what they get.
- Proof. One or two real testimonials. If you do not have any yet, leave the section out rather than inventing one.
- About and Services pages, then test the booking button on your phone.
- Connect your domain. Coachful shows the A and CNAME records to add at your registrar and checks them for you.
Before you publish, run through our coaching website audit checklist. It catches the broken links and missing page titles that most first sites ship with.

How to get Coachful to build your coaching website for free
If the plan above sounds like a weekend you do not have, ask us. Open Website in your Coachful account and press Fill in a form on the Want us to build it for you? card. You can also start from Create > We'll build it for you · FREE and choose Website.

The form asks six things, and only the first is required:
- Which pages you want created or improved.
- What those pages should do: book calls, collect leads, sell an offer, deliver a resource, or something else.
- What visitors should do after they land.
- Websites or pages you like, including your current site (up to 8 links).
- Branding, copy, images or offers to include, plus up to 10 files: logos, photos, screenshots, brand guides, copy documents or audio. Video files are not accepted.
- What feels confusing, broken or unfinished, and any deadline.
Here is what a filled-in request looks like for a sample gut-health coach with a 3-month package and a free 7-day meal guide:

After you send it, the team reads everything and replies by email with next steps, usually within around 24 hours. That is the typical turnaround rather than a guaranteed deadline. The site is built inside your account, in your brand colors and fonts, and nothing gets invented: no fake credentials, testimonials or prices. Anything missing is left for you to fill in.
Websites we have built recently
- A menopause and midlife health coach with no site, logo or prices yet: five pages (home, about, coaching, free consultation and contact) in sage and cream, with every button leading to a free 20-minute consultation booking.
- A life-purpose coach coming from another coaching tool: a dark forest-green site where the three programs appear as one pine drawn at three heights, taken from the coach's emblem, with program descriptions and FAQ adapted from the old pages.
- An author and speaker: five pages from the coach's own copy document and photos, a welcome homepage, a free community signup page and a book page that waits for the launch.
- A psychologist-turned-coach working on emotional eating: a homepage with three clear paths, book a call, join the free community or enroll in the program.
- A real-estate and money coach: an eight-page website on the coach's own domain, plus legal pages.
- A leadership coach with a Squarespace renewal days away: one clean, mobile-friendly homepage with a repeated "talk with me" button.

What the free website build does not include
We do not design logos, record videos, manage ads or run your marketing, and we do not promise a fixed delivery date. You get the website, built where you can keep editing it. For everything else the free build covers, from funnels to programs, see the full guide to Coachful's free white-glove service.
What to put in your brief
The best requests we see are short and concrete. If you are stuck, copy this shape and fill in the brackets:
"I am a [kind of] coach for [who]. I need a homepage, an About page and a page for [offer], which includes [what]. Every button should [book a free 30-minute call / buy the offer]. I like [link] because [the big photos / the calm colors]. My bio, two testimonials and headshots are attached. The thing that feels unfinished on my current site is [the services page]."
Photos help more than any other file. If you have none, a friend with a phone and a window will do better than you think.

The first week after your site goes live
However the site was made, these checks are yours:
- Book a test call from your phone and from a laptop, then cancel it.
- Buy your own cheapest offer, or ask a friend to, so you see the confirmation and the receipt.
- Send the contact form to yourself and confirm where the message lands.
- Check every page title and description in page settings.
- Add the site to your email signature, your social bios and your link in bio.
- Write down the three questions prospects ask most, and turn them into a FAQ section.
If you are moving from another platform, read how to move a coaching website off Kajabi, Wix or Squarespace before you switch your domain, so old links keep working and nothing goes dark. And if you want the bigger picture of what the site connects to, the coaching website page shows booking, checkout and the blog running on one address.
Frequently asked questions
What is a done for you coaching website?
It is a coaching website that someone else designs, writes and assembles from your brief, while you review and approve it. A complete one includes a homepage, About, services and booking pages, working booking buttons, a way to pay, mobile layouts and your own domain, and you should be able to edit it yourself afterwards.
Is it better to hire a web designer or use a template for a coaching website?
Hire a designer when design is part of your offer or you need a logo and full brand identity. Use a template when you need a clear, working site soon and can live within a designed layout. Coachful's 30 templates fill in your name, offers and booking links, and our team can build from them for free.
How much does Coachful charge to build a coaching website?
Nothing extra. The website build is free on every Coachful plan and is labelled FREE and Complimentary gift in the app. Coachful itself is a paid subscription with a free trial, and the website, booking, checkout and blog are part of it.
How long does a done-for-you coaching website take?
Coachful's team usually replies with next steps within around 24 hours, which is a typical figure and not a guaranteed deadline. A one-page homepage moves faster than an eight-page site with legal pages, so mention any launch date in the request.
Will my current website go offline while it is rebuilt?
Your current site stays where it is while the new one is prepared. Designed homepage templates are applied as a private draft, and the template row says "Your current site stays live until you switch." You review the new version before making it your homepage.
Can you write the copy for my coaching website?
Yes, from what you send. Attach your bio, offers and any existing pages, or record a voice memo explaining who you help. The team writes from your facts and leaves gaps for anything you have not provided, such as testimonials, rather than inventing it.
