Top 10 Membership Platforms for Course Creators, Ranked

The best membership platforms for course creators do more than host videos behind a paywall. They carry a student from the first free lesson to the tenth month of a paid membership: the opt-in page, the checkout, the course, the community, the live calls and the nudge that brings a quiet member back before they cancel. So the deciding question is simple. How many of those stages can one tool run well, and what does it cost you to bolt on the rest?
Our pick is Coachful. It puts courses, a community, checkout with subscriptions and payment plans, email sequences, funnels, a website and per-member check-ins under one login, with 0% Coachful platform fee on sales. We make Coachful, so we ranked it first on criteria we state openly below, and every other tool here is described from what its vendor publishes and what public reviewers report. Nine other platforms follow, each with the case where it beats Coachful.
If you sell courses mainly as standalone products, our best course creation platforms roundup and the online course platform comparison cover that side. This article is about the membership: recurring revenue, ongoing delivery and keeping people subscribed.
What does a course creator's member journey actually need?
A course creator's membership runs in four stages: attract, enroll, deliver and retain. Most platforms are strong in one or two and leave you to patch the others with separate tools.
Attract: free content that turns into an email list
Course creators usually grow through a lead magnet (a free mini-course, a checklist, a recorded workshop) or a live webinar, promoted on social media. The platform needs landing pages, a form that adds people to a list, an email sequence that follows up, and ideally a way to turn an Instagram comment into a link in someone's DMs. Without these, you end up paying for a separate email tool and a separate page builder.
Enroll: a checkout that fits how memberships are priced
Memberships rarely sell at one flat price. You need monthly and annual subscriptions, a founding-member coupon, a payment plan for the flagship course, an order bump at checkout, and bundles that combine the course with the membership. Watch the platform's own transaction fee here: on a recurring product, a 2% or 5% cut repeats every month for every member.
Deliver: courses, community and live time in one place
Delivery for a membership is a mix of evergreen lessons, drip content released over weeks, a discussion space, live Q&A or group calls, and downloads. Cohort launches add a wrinkle: each intake wants its own group space. Many creators also sell a premium tier with 1:1 calls, which means booking and calendar sync.
Retain: noticing who is drifting before they cancel
Retention is where most membership software is thin. A subscription business lives on renewals (the subscription business model depends on recurring payments over time), and members cancel quietly when they stop using what they pay for. The useful tools here are completion tracking, habits or check-ins tied to the course, progress a member can see, and a view that shows you which members have gone quiet.
Which platform covers which stage?
The table below maps each platform to the four stages, based on vendor documentation and our packet of listed features. "Partial" means the stage is possible but needs another tool for a common course-creator task.
| Platform | Attract | Enroll | Deliver | Retain |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Website, funnels, email sequences, social planner, Instagram DM automations | Subscriptions, payment plans, order bumps, coupons, bundles | Courses with drip, community, cohort groups, group calls, 1:1 booking | Habits, check-ins, completion tracking, member status (thriving to at risk) |
| Kajabi | Website, funnels, email | Strong checkout | Courses, community | Partial: no habits or daily check-ins |
| Circle | Partial: community-first | Paid memberships | Community, courses, events, live streams | Partial: engagement in spaces only |
| Mighty Networks | Partial | Paid memberships | Community, courses, events | Partial: no per-member plans |
| Thinkific | Partial | Memberships, courses | Courses, communities | Partial: no habits or check-ins |
| Practice Better | Partial | Billing, payment plans | Programs, group sessions, telehealth | Journaling, programs (clinical focus) |
| Teachable | Partial: built-in email on higher plans | Memberships, upsells, order bumps | Courses, community on Builder and up | Partial: no habits or check-ins |
| Podia | Small email allowances | Simple storefront | Courses, webinars, community | Partial |
| Skool | No website or email automation | Skool Payments only | Community, classroom, calendar | Leaderboards |
| Stan Store | Link-in-bio storefront | Simple checkout | Courses, memberships | No |
How did we rank these membership platforms?
We ranked on four things that decide whether a membership is profitable for a solo course creator, and they favour all-in-one tools like Coachful.
Ranking criteria: one login for the whole member journey, delivery between lessons (not just video hosting), total stack cost including platform fees, and setup effort (Coachful's free white-glove build counts here).
| Rank | Platform | Best for | Starting price (monthly billing) | Platform fee on sales |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Coachful | Course creators who want courses, community, checkout and member follow-through in one place | Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients | 0% (Stripe or Razorpay processing only) |
| 2 | Kajabi | Established creators with large email lists | $179/mo Basic | None on Kajabi Payments; 0.5% to 2% extra on other processors |
| 3 | Circle | Community-led memberships | $89/mo Professional (billed annually) | 0.5% to 2% |
| 4 | Mighty Networks | Large networks with many hosts | $95/mo Launch | 0.5% to 2% |
| 5 | Thinkific | Course catalogues with many students | $109/mo Start | 0% on Thinkific Payments |
| 6 | Practice Better | Health course creators who also see clients clinically | $35/mo Starter | Not listed on the pricing page |
| 7 | Teachable | Course sellers who want student apps | $39/mo Starter | 7.5% Starter, 0% Builder and up |
| 8 | Podia | Simple storefront with a small list | $49/mo Mover | 5% Mover, 0% higher plans |
| 9 | Skool | Gamified community plus classroom | $9/mo Hobby | 10% + 30¢ Hobby; 2.9% to 3.9% + 30¢ Pro |
| 10 | Stan Store | Selling from a social bio link | $29/mo Creator | 0% |
Vendor prices are as listed in October 2026, except Practice Better and Teachable, which we took from their pricing pages when we checked for this article. Prices change, so confirm on each vendor's site before you buy.
1. Coachful: the whole membership under one login

Coachful is a coaching platform built for people who deliver programs, not just content, and that is exactly what a good membership is. One subscription covers courses, a community, booking, payments, contracts, email, funnels, a website and an AI assistant. Your members get one branded home and app, and you get one login for the whole business.
How courses and drip content work
Courses are built from modules and lessons, with drip release and completion tracking. Alongside courses you can publish downloads, videos, books, AI tools and events, and package any of them into bundles. If you are starting from a blank page, Coachful includes 48 course templates with quizzes and more than 40 ready-to-film program templates. Everything is delivered into the member's branded home, so there is no separate course portal to send people to.

Here is a short walkthrough of how content is organised inside Coachful:
Community, cohorts and live calls
The community includes a feed, group chat, direct messages and video events. When someone enrolls in a program, Coachful creates the cohort group automatically, which matters if you run launches with a new intake every quarter. Group calls and webinars run inside the same account, and a premium tier can include 1:1 sessions with booking pages, calendar sync with Google, Apple/iCloud and Outlook, and built-in video or auto-created Zoom, Meet or Teams links.

Selling the membership
Payments run through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account: one-time purchases, subscriptions, payment plans, order bumps, coupons, refunds, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Stripe Tax, with an invoice for every transaction. Since August 2026 there is a 0% Coachful platform fee, so you pay only Stripe or Razorpay processing. On the marketing side you get a section-based website builder with a blog and custom domain, about 25 funnel templates (lead magnet, booking, application and checkout funnels with pixels and UTM tracking), email broadcasts and multi-step sequences with branching and A/B splits, and a link-in-bio page that sells.
Two features fit how course creators actually grow. The social planner drafts post ideas and captions with AI and schedules them to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Threads and YouTube from one calendar. Instagram automations can reply to a comment containing a keyword such as "COURSE" with a DM carrying your lead magnet or checkout link, and that person lands in the same lead records as everyone else.

Keeping members active
This is the stage most course platforms skip. Coachful lets you attach weekly goals, daily tasks, habits and morning or evening check-ins to a program, with streaks and progress bars the member can see. On your side, each member's record shows goals, check-ins, notes, payments and a status of thriving, active, quiet or at risk, so you can message the quiet ones before renewal day. Michelle, the built-in AI assistant, works from that live data: she can draft a re-engagement email, outline a new module or brief you before a call. Questions and planning are included in your Coachful membership; confirmed builds and changes use AI credits.

Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. From Create, choose "We'll build it for you · FREE", describe what you need and attach up to 8 reference links and 10 files. The Coachful team builds it inside your account, usually within about 24 hours. For a course creator that might be the sales page for your membership, a free mini-course funnel, the email sequence that follows it, or the outline and written material for a course (you still record the videos). Nothing is invented: no fake testimonials, credentials or prices, and gaps are left for you to fill. A somatic coach leaving Kajabi, for example, had their homepage and About page rebuilt and their contact form connected. Read more about the free white-glove service.
What Coachful does not do. It is not a course marketplace, so it will not send you buyers the way a marketplace might. There is no PayPal and no permanent free plan. There are no third-party plugins. The member app runs under the Coachful listing with your branding, not as your own App Store app. The affiliate program tracks links, clicks, conversions and revenue, but you record payouts yourself. Coachful is not HIPAA-certified, so health course creators should keep clinical records elsewhere.
Price. Plans are flat monthly, lower plans cap the number of clients and Pro is unlimited (current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients). A free trial is available, and monthly plans cancel in one click. See the online course platform for coaches page for the course side in more detail.
2. Kajabi: a mature all-rounder priced for bigger lists

Kajabi is the platform many course creators graduate to once their list grows. It bundles courses, a community, a website, funnels and email marketing for selling knowledge products, which covers attract, enroll and deliver without extra tools.
Pricing as listed in October 2026: Basic $179/month ($143/month billed annually) with 5 products, 2,500 contacts, one community, one website, two admin users and 0 AI credits. Growth is $249/month ($199 annually) with 50 products and 25,000 contacts. Pro is $499/month ($399 annually) with unlimited products and 100,000 contacts. A 14-day trial is offered; a card is optional, and if you enter one Kajabi places an authorization hold. Some features, such as bulk contact import and test emails, stay locked until you pay.
For a course creator, the Basic plan's five-product cap is the first wall you hit: a flagship course, a membership, a mini-course lead magnet, a bundle and a workshop recording use it up. Kajabi Payments in the US costs 2.9% + $0.30 on Basic; using another processor adds a Kajabi fee of 2% on Basic, 1% on Growth or 0.5% on Pro. Retention tools are thin by our criteria: Kajabi structures coaching as products and communities, with no habit tracking or daily member check-ins. On Trustpilot it showed 3.4 from 2,347 reviews when we looked in October 2026.
Pick it over Coachful if you already have a large list, want Kajabi's higher contact limits and built-in marketing tools, and do not need per-member habits or check-ins.
3. Circle: the strongest pure community space

If your membership is mostly conversation, Circle is built for it. Spaces, events, live streams and courses sit in one community, and paid memberships let you charge for access to specific spaces.
Circle lists Professional at $89/month, Business at $199/month and Scale at $419/month when billed annually (monthly prices were not in our October 2026 data), with a custom-priced Circle Plus. Every plan from Professional up includes 2,500 AI credits a month (5,000 on Scale). A 14-day free trial needs no credit card. Circle takes a fee on payments of 2% on Professional, 1% on Business and Scale, and 0.5% on Circle Plus, plus Stripe processing.
The gaps for a course creator are on the edges of the journey. There is no 1:1 scheduling or client back office, so a premium tier with private calls needs a booking tool. There are no per-member habits, check-ins or coaching plans, so retention depends on how lively your spaces are. Branded mobile apps come only with Circle Plus. You will also want a separate email and funnel tool for the attract stage. Circle showed 4.1 from 129 reviews on Trustpilot in October 2026.
Pick it over Coachful if your members pay mainly for each other, with dozens of active spaces and moderators, and courses are a side feature.
4. Mighty Networks: big networks with many hosts

Mighty Networks combines community, courses and events, and it is designed for networks run by several hosts rather than one creator. Members use Mighty-branded apps.
As listed in October 2026, Launch costs $95/month ($79 annually) with 3 hosts, 10 moderators, 200 GB of storage and 20 hours of livestreaming a month for up to 100 attendees. Scale is $215/month ($179 annually) with 5 hosts and 30 hours of livestreaming for 200 attendees. Growth is $354/month billed annually, with 10 hosts and livestreams for up to 1,000 attendees. Mighty Pro, with your own branded apps, is custom priced. The 14-day trial needs no card and includes Growth features.
The platform fee is 2% on Launch, 1% on Scale and 0.5% on Growth and Mighty Pro, plus Stripe processing. On a membership with 200 members at $30 a month (an illustrative example), 2% is $120 a month on top of the subscription. There is no 1:1 scheduling, invoicing or contracts, and no per-member habits, check-ins or private plans, so one-to-one upsells and retention follow-up happen elsewhere. Trustpilot showed 3.3 from 219 reviews in October 2026.
Pick it over Coachful if you run a large network with several co-hosts and frequent livestreams, and you want the community to be the product.
5. Thinkific: built for course catalogues

Thinkific is a course platform first, with communities, memberships and coaching or webinar products added on. It suits creators with a catalogue of courses and many students.
Prices rose about 10% on August 13, 2026. As listed in October 2026, Start is $109/month ($82 annually) for 10,000 current students, two admins, one community with 10 spaces and five live community events. Grow is $219/month ($164 annually) with six admins and three communities. Expand is $499/month ($374 annually). Each self-serve plan has a 30-day free trial. There is no Thinkific transaction fee on Thinkific Payments, which it describes as in line with other processors at 2.9%; third-party Stripe or PayPal gateways carry an extra per-plan fee that the page does not list.
For a membership, Thinkific handles the enroll and deliver stages well. The limits show in the other two. Coaching relies on external booking links, there are no member habits, daily check-ins or per-member plans, and a branded mobile app is a $199/month add-on. Public reviewers are harsher than on most tools here: Trustpilot showed 1.8 from 868 reviews in October 2026.
Pick it over Coachful if you are building a large catalogue of self-paced courses for thousands of students and want a course-first platform with communities attached.
6. Practice Better: for health educators with a clinical side

Practice Better is a practice management and EHR platform for dietitians, nutritionists, functional medicine practitioners and health coaches. It belongs on this list for one kind of course creator: someone who sells programs and courses while also seeing clients in a clinical setting.
Its pricing page, when we checked for this article, listed Starter at $35/month (10 clients), Professional at $69/month (300 clients), Plus at $99/month (unlimited clients) and Team at $155/month (two practitioner licenses), with lower prices on annual billing and a free Sprout plan for 3 clients. Paid plans have a 14-day trial; Team has 30 days. The page lists HIPAA, PIPEDA and GDPR compliance, telehealth video, secure messaging, journaling, a client portal and mobile app.
The catch for course creators is where the course features sit. Fixed-date programs start on Professional, while evergreen and self-paced programs, portal branding and done-for-you program templates start on Plus. There is no website builder, funnel builder or community feed in the way a membership needs, so attract and community both live elsewhere. Client caps also work against you: 10 or 300 clients is fine for a practice, tight for a membership.
Pick it over Coachful if you need HIPAA compliance, charting or insurance-related billing alongside your courses. Coachful is not HIPAA-certified, so clinical records belong in a clinical system like this one.
7. Teachable: courses with student apps
Teachable sells online courses, digital downloads, memberships and coaching, and includes iOS and Android student apps on every plan. Its pricing page, when we checked for this article, listed three self-serve plans.
- Starter: $39/month ($29 billed annually), 5 products, 7.5% transaction fee.
- Builder: $89/month ($69 annually), 10 products, 0% transaction fee, affiliate program.
- Growth: $189/month ($139 annually), 50 products, five admin users, certificates and removal of Teachable branding.
Each plan has a 7-day free trial and a 30-day guarantee, and a custom plan exists for high-volume businesses. The comparison table lists memberships, drip content, auto-graded quizzes, coupons, upsells, order bumps, abandoned cart emails and bundles; community appears in the Builder plan's feature list. A 0% fee carries an asterisk on the page, so read the footnote for your payment setup.
The Starter plan's 7.5% fee is the trap for a membership. At 100 members paying $30 a month (an illustrative example), that is $225 a month to Teachable, more than the Builder plan's price. Like most course-first tools, Teachable has no booking for 1:1 calls, member habits or check-ins, so retention is down to completion tracking and your emails.
Pick it over Coachful if student mobile apps under a course-first platform are your priority and you sell mostly self-paced courses with occasional memberships.
8. Podia: a simple storefront with small email limits

Podia is a straightforward storefront for courses, downloads, webinars, coaching sessions and a community. Creators who want to launch fast and keep things simple tend to like it.
As listed in October 2026: Mover $49/month ($42 annually) with 50 products, 500 videos, 25 community spaces and 100 email subscribers; Shaker $99/month ($84 annually) with 150 products, 500 email subscribers and one assistant; Earthquaker $179/month ($150 annually) with unlimited products and 1,000 email subscribers. The 14-day trial needs no card. Mover charges a 5% Podia fee; Shaker and Earthquaker charge 0%, with Stripe or PayPal processing on top.
The email allowance is the limit that bites first. A course creator who grows through a free mini-course can pass 100 or 500 subscribers in a single promotion, after which the attract stage needs more spend or another tool. Older profiles note no mobile app and no native video calls, and there are no member habits, check-ins or per-member plans. Trustpilot showed 4.1 from 153 reviews in October 2026.
Pick it over Coachful if you want the simplest possible store for a handful of products and PayPal checkout matters to you.
9. Skool: community and classroom with leaderboards

Skool keeps a community, a classroom and a calendar in one group, with gamified leaderboards that reward members for posting. Many course creators use it for its simplicity; we compare options in Skool alternatives for course creators.
As listed in October 2026, Hobby costs $9/month ($7.50 annually) and Pro $99/month ($82.50 annually), both with unlimited members, courses, videos and live calls. The fees are the important part. Hobby takes 10% + 30¢ on every transaction. Pro takes 2.9% + 30¢ up to $899 and 3.9% + 30¢ above $900. Payments go only through Skool Payments, with weekly payouts, and fees are non-refundable.
There is no custom-domain website, no funnels, no email automation and no public API, so the attract stage happens entirely off-platform. There are no 1:1 member records, intake forms, habits or check-ins. Trustpilot showed 1.6 from 54 reviews in October 2026.
Pick it over Coachful if leaderboard-style gamification is central to your membership and you are happy to run your email, website and funnels on separate tools.
10. Stan Store: selling straight from your bio link

Stan Store is a link-in-bio storefront for digital products, courses, memberships and paid calls. It fits creators whose audience lives on Instagram or TikTok and who want a checkout one tap from their profile.
As listed in October 2026, Creator is $29/month ($25 annually) and Creator Pro is $99/month ($79 annually), both with unlimited products and customers. A 14-day free trial is offered, and Stan charges no fee of its own on sales; Stripe or PayPal processing applies. Email marketing, upsells, discount codes and affiliates are only on Creator Pro.
For a membership that needs to last beyond the first month, Stan is light. There are no contracts, invoices or member records, no programs with tasks, habits or check-ins, and no team seats advertised. Trustpilot showed 4.7 from 2,205 reviews in October 2026, the highest rating in this list.
Pick it over Coachful if your business is mostly impulse buys from social media and you want the fastest possible storefront, with delivery kept simple.

Should you buy one platform or assemble a stack?
For most solo course creators, one platform costs less and leaks fewer members, because nothing falls between tools. The assembled stack only wins when you need a specialist feature that no all-in-one offers. Here is how the monthly bill looks at three membership sizes.

| Setup | 5 members (founding beta) | 15 members | 40 members |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful (all-in-one) | Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients | Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients | Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients |
| Kajabi Basic (all-in-one, no member check-ins) | $179 | $179 | $179 |
| Assembled: Thinkific Start + Circle Professional + Stan Store Creator | $227 | $227 | $227 |
| Assembled: Skool Pro + Stan Store Creator Pro | $198 plus Skool fees | $198 plus Skool fees | $198 plus Skool fees |
These are example stacks using listed prices: Thinkific at monthly billing, Circle Professional at its annual-billing rate (the only figure we have), and Stan Store at monthly billing. They exclude payment processing and platform fees (Circle's 2% and Skool's per-transaction fees apply on top). The Coachful row covers the same jobs as the assembled stacks plus booking, contracts and member check-ins, with 0% Coachful platform fee. If your membership will hold hundreds of members, compare the unlimited plan instead: Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients.
The all-in-one recipe
One platform for the site, funnels, email, checkout, courses, community and follow-up. You pay one subscription and processing. The trade-off is that you accept that platform's version of each feature rather than the best-in-class version of every one.
The assembled recipe
A course host, a community tool, a storefront, an email platform and a booking link. Each piece can be excellent, but you pay several subscriptions, often several platform fees, and you lose the single view of a member: their course progress lives in one tool, their posts in another and their payments in a third. If you go this way, our guide to email marketing platforms for course creators covers the email piece.
How would a course creator set this up in Coachful?
Here is an example setup for a creator selling a goal-setting course plus a monthly membership. The names and offer are illustrative.
- Build the course. Start from one of the 48 course templates or ask the white-glove team for the outline and written lessons. Set modules to drip weekly and turn on completion tracking.
- Wrap it in a program. Create a multi-week program with weekly goals, a daily task tied to each lesson, and a short evening check-in. This is what keeps members doing the work between videos.
- Create the offers. Set up the course as a one-time purchase with a three-part payment plan, and the membership as a monthly subscription. Add an order bump for a workbook download and a founding-member coupon. Bundle the course and the first months of the membership together.
- Open the community. Turn on the community feed for all members. Enrollment in the program creates the cohort group automatically, so each launch gets its own space.
- Schedule the live calls. Add a monthly group Q&A as a recurring event, and, for a premium tier, a 1:1 session type with buffers and minimum notice.
- Build the front door. Pick a lead-magnet funnel template for a free three-lesson mini-course, connect a five-email welcome sequence, and add a checkout funnel for the membership. Add your Meta Pixel and GA4.
- Turn on social capture. Connect your Instagram professional account and create an automation: anyone who comments "START" on a post gets the mini-course link in a DM.
- Watch the quiet members. Each week, filter members by status. Message anyone marked quiet or at risk, or ask Michelle to draft a check-in email based on where they stopped.
Read more about running cohorts and calls on the group coaching software page and about pages and domains on the coach website builder page.
How do you move a membership without losing members?
Move content first, then people, then payments, and keep the old platform running until the last renewal has moved across.
- Export everything before you cancel. Download your member list, course videos, downloads and email list from the old platform. During Coachful onboarding, clients, programs and content are imported for you.
- Do not assume subscriptions transfer. Recurring billing usually lives in the old platform's payment setup. Check with your current platform and Stripe how existing subscriptions can be handled, and plan a re-enrollment email with a loyalty coupon if members need to subscribe again.
- Rebuild the sales page, not just the course. A move is a good moment to fix the funnel. The white-glove team can rebuild your website, sales page and follow-up emails from reference links and files you attach.
- Tell members what changes and when. Send a short email with the date, the new login and what stays the same. Post the same note in the old community.
- Watch the first month. Track who has logged in to the new space, and message anyone who has not.

What is the verdict?
For a course creator whose membership needs to attract, enroll, deliver and retain from one place, Coachful is the strongest fit: courses with drip, a community with automatic cohort groups, flexible checkout with 0% Coachful platform fee, funnels and email, and the member check-ins that most course platforms lack. Kajabi is the established alternative for large lists, Circle and Mighty Networks win when the community itself is the product, Thinkific and Teachable suit big self-paced catalogues, and Practice Better is the choice when clinical compliance matters. Skool, Podia and Stan Store are simpler, cheaper starting points that you are likely to outgrow once retention matters.
What Coachful is, in short: a coaching platform for creators who deliver programs, courses and memberships, replacing four to six separate tools with one login for you and one branded app for your members. It does not offer a course marketplace, PayPal or HIPAA certification. To start, take a free trial and ask for the free white-glove build of your website, funnel or course outline.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best membership platform for course creators?
Coachful is our pick because it covers the whole member journey in one login: funnels and email, checkout with subscriptions, courses, community and member check-ins. Kajabi is a strong alternative if you have a large list and do not need per-member follow-through. Circle suits memberships where the community is the main product.
Do membership platforms take a cut of my sales?
Many do. As listed in October 2026, Circle and Mighty Networks charge 0.5% to 2% depending on plan, Podia's Mover plan charges 5%, Skool's Hobby plan charges 10% + 30¢, and Teachable's Starter plan charges 7.5%. Coachful charges a 0% platform fee, so you pay only Stripe or Razorpay processing.
Can I run a course and a community on the same platform?
Yes. Coachful, Kajabi, Circle, Mighty Networks, Thinkific, Podia and Skool all combine courses with some kind of community. The difference is whether members also get habits, check-ins and progress tracking, which in this list only Coachful offers fully.
What is the free white-glove service?
It is a free build service on every Coachful plan. You describe what you want, such as a membership sales page, a lead-magnet funnel, an email sequence or a course outline with written material, attach references, and the Coachful team builds it in your account, usually within about 24 hours. It does not include recording videos, logo design or ad management.
Can I offer payment plans for a course inside a membership business?
Yes, on most platforms here. Coachful supports one-time payments, subscriptions, payment plans, order bumps, coupons and bundles through your own Stripe or Razorpay account. Check whether a platform's payment plans are tied to its own payment processor before you commit.
Does Coachful give my members their own app?
Members use the Coachful app with your branding, so they see your name, programs and community. It is not published as your own App Store listing. If a fully separate app is essential, Circle Plus and Mighty Pro offer that at custom prices.
Is Coachful a course marketplace?
No. Coachful does not list your course in a public marketplace or send you buyers. You bring your audience through your website, funnels, email, social planner and Instagram automations, all included in your Coachful membership.
Which platform is cheapest for a brand-new membership?
By sticker price, Skool Hobby at $9/month and Stan Store Creator at $29/month are the lowest as listed in October 2026. Skool Hobby's 10% fee grows with every sale, and both leave out email automation or member records on their entry plans. Compare total cost, including fees and the extra tools you will need, at your expected member count.
Can health course creators use Coachful?
Yes, for coaching and education, but Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and is not for clinical records or insurance billing. Keep any clinical documentation in a compliant system such as Practice Better, and make clear in your membership that coaching content is not medical treatment.
