Best Platform for Cohort Based Courses: Top 7 Picks for 2026

Best Platform for Cohort Based Courses: Top 7 Picks for 2026

The best platform for cohort based courses is the one that runs a live group from start date to completion in one place: enrollment and payment, a fixed start date, weekly live calls, a private cohort space, assignments people actually finish, and a way to see who is falling behind in week three. Most course platforms were built for self-paced video libraries, so the real question is which tool treats the cohort, not the video, as the product.

Our pick is Coachful, because it ties the course, the cohort group, the weekly calls, the check-ins and the payment to one client record and one branded app. We make Coachful, so read our reasoning critically: below we rank seven platforms by the situation each one wins, list prices as vendors publish them, and say plainly where a rival is the better choice.

What does a cohort-based course need from its platform?

A cohort-based course needs a platform that handles time, not just content. Everyone starts together, moves through the same weeks, meets live and finishes on the same date, so the software has to support a shared calendar, a shared space and per-person accountability at once.

That is a different job from a self-paced course or a massive open online course, where thousands of people move through recorded material on their own schedule (see Wikipedia's overview of MOOCs for that model). Cohort creators sell the opposite: a smaller group, a coach who shows up every week, and peers who notice when you go quiet. If you are still shaping the curriculum itself, our worked plan for cohort based course design covers week-by-week structure before you choose software.

In practice, cohort creators run into the same six needs:

  • Start dates and enrollment windows. Sales open, a waitlist builds, the doors close, and everyone gets access on day one. Payment plans matter here because a lot of cohort buyers split a higher price over two or three months.
  • Weekly live calls. A recurring group session with a video link, reminders before each call and a replay afterwards. Many cohorts also sell a 1:1 upgrade, so individual booking matters too.
  • A private cohort community. A feed or group chat for this cohort only, separate from alumni and from the next intake.
  • Assignments and weekly tasks. Lessons unlock by week, and each week ends with something to do: a worksheet, a reflection, a habit, a check-in.
  • Completion and at-risk signals. The coach needs to see who finished week two, who stopped checking in, and who needs a personal nudge before they drop out.
  • The next intake. Graduates become alumni, testimonials get requested, and the next cohort opens without rebuilding everything.

Scope is the other trap. Cohort creators often sell three things at once: the cohort, a cheaper self-paced version of the course, and a premium package or retainer with private sessions. A platform that only does one of those forces a second and third subscription, and the student ends up with three logins. Our broader guide to the best platform for cohort coaching programs covers the coaching-heavy end of this spectrum; this article focuses on the course-led cohort.

Which platform wins each cohort scenario? Quick picks

Here is the short answer by situation. Ranking criteria: one login for the whole cohort journey, delivery between live calls (tasks, check-ins, community), total monthly stack cost, and setup effort, including Coachful's free white-glove build.

Build your platform

How did we choose and rank these seven platforms?

We ranked tools on how well they run a live cohort end to end, using what each vendor documents publicly and what public reviewers report. We did not run paid cohorts on every platform, so treat the limits below as documented limits, not test results.

Four criteria carried the most weight:

  1. One login for the whole cohort journey. Can a student pay, sign an agreement if needed, join the group, attend calls, do the work and message the coach without leaving one app?
  2. Between-call delivery. Weekly tasks, habits, check-ins and an at-risk signal, not only video lessons. This is where most cohorts win or lose completion.
  3. Total stack cost. The listed price plus the scheduling, community, email and payment tools you would have to add, and any transaction fee on top of card processing.
  4. Setup effort. How long it takes to get the first cohort live, including templates and any help building it.

We also checked for cohort-specific basics: drip by week, group or space separation per intake, live event support, payment plans and the ability to sell a self-paced version of the same course. Direct 1:1 coaching tools without real course features were left out, because they do not fit a course-led cohort. Vendor prices are as listed in October 2026; Trustpilot figures were seen on October 25, 2026.

1. Coachful: best overall for cohort-based courses

The scenario it wins: you run a course with a start date, weekly live calls and a group that should hold each other accountable, and you want enrollment, delivery, community and payments in one place. Coachful is a coaching platform that covers booking, payments, contracts, programs with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant, with one login for you and one branded app for your students.

How a cohort runs inside Coachful

The core idea is that a cohort is a program, and the course sits inside it. You build the course with modules, lessons and drip so that week two unlocks on day eight, and completion is tracked per lesson. Around it, the program adds the parts self-paced course tools lack: weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars and streaks. For a cohort, that means week three's lesson comes with week three's assignment and a short check-in, and you can see who did both.

When someone enrolls in the program, Coachful creates the cohort group automatically. Each intake gets its own space, so the spring cohort does not end up chatting in the autumn cohort's feed. The community side includes a feed, group chat, direct messages and video events, plus group calls and webinars for the weekly live session.

From the student's side, everything lands in your branded home and app: the current week, the lessons, the tasks, the other members and the next call. The app is the Coachful app carrying your branding, not a separate listing under your own App Store account, which is worth knowing if a fully white-labelled app matters to you.

Calls, payments and the 1:1 upgrade

Weekly calls run on the same calendar as your private sessions. Booking pages support availability rules, buffers, minimum notice and time-zone detection, with two-way Google, Apple/iCloud and Outlook sync. Calls can use built-in video or auto-created Zoom, Meet or Teams links, with email reminders, plus SMS (24 hours before) and WhatsApp (1 hour before) once messaging is enabled. If your cohort includes two private sessions per student, session credits handle that without a separate scheduler.

Payments go through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account: one-time payments, subscriptions, payment plans, order bumps, coupons, refunds, Apple Pay and Google Pay, and Stripe Tax. Coachful takes a 0% platform fee (since August 2026), so you pay only the processor. An order bump is a natural place to sell a 1:1 add-on at checkout. If you also run a premium package, coaching agreements with e-signature can be sent before the first call and stored on the client record. There is no PayPal option, which matters if a large share of your buyers prefer it.

Seeing who is falling behind

Every student has a client record with goals, check-ins, habits, notes, intake answers, tags, payments and sessions, and a status of thriving, active, quiet or at risk. In week four of an eight-week cohort, that status list is where you find the three people to message personally. Michelle, the built-in AI assistant, works from that live data: it can brief you before a call, summarize a recorded session, draft the week's reminder email or help build the program outline. Questions and planning are included in your Coachful membership; confirmed builds and changes use AI credits. An optional AI Coach lets selected students chat with an AI version of you between calls, configured by you.

Selling the cohort uses the same account: a section-based website with custom domain and blog, application and checkout funnels with pixel and UTM tracking, a link-in-bio page, and email lists, broadcasts and multi-step sequences with branching. An application funnel suits premium cohorts where you want to screen fit before taking payment. For courses, you can also sell the self-paced version as a separate product or bundle. More than 40 program templates and 48 course templates with quizzes give you a starting structure.

Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. From Create, the "We'll build it for you · FREE" card lets you describe what you want built: the cohort program, the course outline and written material, the sales page, the application funnel, the welcome email sequence or the website. You can attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files, and the Coachful team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours. Nothing gets invented: no fake testimonials, credentials or prices; gaps are left for you to fill. One recent build was a year-long cohort program for a real-estate and money coach, with an application form, an eight-page site and a free nine-day bootcamp funnel. It does not include recording your videos, logo design or running ads. Read more in our guide to the free white-glove service.

Where Coachful is the wrong fit

Coachful is not a course marketplace, so it will not bring you students the way a catalog site might. It has no third-party plugins, no Salesforce or HubSpot integration, and no permanent free plan (there is a free trial). It is not HIPAA-certified, so a clinical group program needs a clinical system. Pricing is flat monthly plans, with lower plans capping the number of clients and Pro unlimited (current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients). Monthly plans cancel in one click. You can see the course side on our online course platform for coaches page and the group side on group coaching software.

2. Kajabi: best for creators with a big catalog and list

Wins when: you already sell several products to a sizable email list and want your cohort to sit inside the same marketing machine. Kajabi is a course, community, website, funnel and email platform for selling knowledge products, and it fits creators whose cohort is one offer among many.

The Kajabi homepage as it appeared in October 2026
Kajabi's homepage in October 2026.

What a cohort looks like on Kajabi

You build the course as a product, create a community for the cohort, and sell it through Kajabi's pages, funnels and email. That covers enrollment, content and a group space without extra tools. Kajabi describes coaching in terms of products and communities rather than per-student plans, so weekly accountability usually lives in the community posts and the live calls, not in tracked tasks or check-ins.

Kajabi pricing as listed in October 2026

  • Basic: $179/mo ($143/mo annual), 5 products, 2,500 contacts, 1 community, 1 website, 2 admin users, 0 AI credits.
  • Growth: $249/mo ($199/mo annual), 50 products, 25,000 contacts, 11 admin users, 500 AI credits.
  • Pro: $499/mo ($399/mo annual), unlimited products, 100,000 contacts, 3 communities, 3 websites, 26 admin users, 1,000 AI credits.

Kajabi Payments in the US is listed at 2.9% + $0.30 on Basic, 2.8% + $0.30 on Growth and 2.7% + $0.30 on Pro. Using another processor (other than PayPal) adds a Kajabi fee of 2% on Basic, 1% on Growth or 0.5% on Pro. The help center describes a 14-day trial; a card is optional, but if you enter one Kajabi places an authorization hold and charges when the trial ends, and some features stay locked until you activate a paid plan.

The catch for cohort creators

Basic allows one community, so running separate spaces for each intake plus alumni pushes you toward Pro. The 5-product cap on Basic also fills quickly once you list a cohort, a self-paced version, a replay bundle and a lead magnet. There is no habit tracking or daily check-in, so spotting a quiet student means reading the community or checking lesson progress. Kajabi showed a Trustpilot score of 3.4 from 2,347 reviews when we looked.

Pick it over Coachful if your business is mainly a large product catalog and email audience, the cohort is one product among many, and you do not need per-student tasks, check-ins or 1:1 booking in the same tool.

3. Thinkific: best for large cohorts on a traditional LMS

Choose this one when the cohort is big. If you run intakes of 50 to a few hundred learners and need a structured LMS with live community events, Thinkific's plan limits are written for that scale. It is a course platform with communities, memberships and coaching or webinar products.

The Thinkific homepage as it appeared in October 2026
Thinkific's homepage in October 2026.

Fit for a live intake

Thinkific lists live community events and community spaces on each plan, with a stated maximum group size: 50 on Start, 100 on Grow and unlimited on Expand. That group-size figure is the one cohort creators should read first, because it sets how big a single intake can be. Courses, memberships and communities sit together, so a cohort can be a course plus a community space plus scheduled live events.

The numbers, as Thinkific lists them

  • Start: $109/mo ($82/mo annual), 2 admins, 1 community with 10 spaces, 5 live community events, 200 GB/mo video bandwidth, group size up to 50.
  • Grow: $219/mo ($164/mo annual), 6 admins, 3 communities (20 spaces), 400 GB/mo, group size up to 100.
  • Expand: $499/mo ($374/mo annual), 15 admins, 10 communities (200 spaces), 1,000 GB/mo, unlimited group size.
  • Plus: custom pricing.

There is no Thinkific transaction fee on Thinkific Payments, which it describes as in line with other processors at 2.9%. Third-party Stripe or PayPal gateways carry an extra per-plan fee that the page does not quantify. Prices rose about 10% on August 13, 2026. Every self-serve plan has a 30-day free trial.

Gaps to plan around

Thinkific has no built-in 1:1 scheduling in its older profile, so private sessions rely on an external booking link. There are no client habits, daily check-ins or per-student plans. A branded mobile app is a $199/mo add-on. Public reviewers are mixed: Thinkific showed 1.8 on Trustpilot from 868 reviews.

Pick it over Coachful if you run large intakes on a structured LMS, need high group-size limits and many community spaces, and your cohort has little 1:1 coaching or daily accountability.

4. LearnWorlds: best for assessment-heavy and interactive cohorts

For cohorts graded on work, LearnWorlds is the strongest learning-design tool here. It is a course and LMS platform with a website builder, funnels, SCORM support and interactive video, which suits certification-style cohorts, corporate training groups and programs where quizzes and assignments carry real weight.

LearnWorlds pricing page with plan cards
LearnWorlds's pricing page in October 2026 (it shows euro prices).

Why educators like it

Interactive video and SCORM packages let you build lessons that test understanding inside the video itself, and the Learning Center plan adds client groups for separating cohorts or corporate buyers. For a cohort that ends in an assessed project or a certificate, that depth matters more than community features.

Plans and fees as listed in October 2026

  • Starter: $29/mo ($24/mo annual), 1 admin, 1,000 active learners a month, 300 AI credits, plus $5 per paid enrollment.
  • Pro Trainer: $99/mo ($79/mo annual), 5 admins, 2,000 active learners a month, 20 SCORM packages, 15 page funnels, 2,000 mass emails a month, no LearnWorlds fee.
  • Learning Center: $299/mo ($249/mo annual), 25 admins, up to 10 client groups, 5,000 mass emails a month.
  • Corporate: custom.

Stripe and PayPal gateway fees of 2.9% + $0.30 apply. The 30-day trial needs no card, according to LearnWorlds pages, and the school is scheduled for deletion if you do not upgrade. The $5 per paid enrollment on Starter adds up fast: a 20-person cohort costs $100 in enrollment fees on top of the plan.

Limits for live cohorts

LearnWorlds is not built for 1:1 client management, habits or check-ins. Monthly active-learner caps apply on self-serve plans, and a branded mobile app is a separately priced add-on. LearnWorlds showed 4.8 on Trustpilot from 423 reviews.

Pick it over Coachful if your cohort is graded, needs SCORM or interactive video, or is sold to companies that expect LMS-style reporting, and coaching between sessions is a small part of it.

5. Podia: best simple storefront for a first small cohort

The situation: you are launching your first cohort of ten to twenty people, you also sell a few downloads and a webinar, and you want something you can set up in an afternoon. Podia is a simple storefront for courses, downloads, webinars, coaching sessions and community.

The Podia homepage as it appeared in October 2026
Podia's homepage in October 2026.

What you get

A course product, a community space for the cohort and a webinar for the kickoff call can all sit in one storefront. Podia positions itself as simple, which suits a creator testing whether a cohort format works before committing to heavier software.

Podia's listed pricing

  • Mover: $49/mo ($42/mo annual), 50 products, 25 community spaces, 100 email subscribers included, 5% Podia fee.
  • Shaker: $99/mo ($84/mo annual), 150 products, 100 spaces, 500 email subscribers, 1 assistant, 0% fee.
  • Earthquaker: $179/mo ($150/mo annual), unlimited products and spaces, 1,000 email subscribers, 0% fee.

Stripe or PayPal processing (2.9% + 30¢ standard) applies on top. The trial is 14 days with full access and no card required.

Where it runs out

The email allowances are small for a cohort business that relies on launch emails: 100, 500 or 1,000 subscribers included. The older profile notes no mobile app and no native video calls, so weekly calls run on an outside video tool. There are no habits, check-ins or per-student plans. On Mover, a $1,000 cohort seat loses $50 to the Podia fee before processing. Podia showed 4.1 on Trustpilot from 153 reviews.

Pick it over Coachful if you want the simplest possible storefront for a small first cohort plus a handful of digital products, and you are happy to run calls and accountability elsewhere.

6. Teachable: best for course-first cohorts that lean on a student app

Teachable earns its spot when the course content is the main event, the live element is light, and you want students watching lessons on a mobile app. It is a course and digital-product platform with student mobile apps.

The Teachable homepage as it appeared in October 2026
Teachable's homepage in October 2026.

The cohort use case

A cohort on Teachable is usually a course with drip timing plus live calls hosted elsewhere. That works for a content-heavy program where the weekly call is a Q&A on top of solid lessons, and where students mostly learn on their phones.

Price list, October 2026

  • Starter: $39/mo ($29/mo annual), 5 products, 1 admin, 7.5% platform fee.
  • Builder: $89/mo ($69/mo annual), 10 products, 1 admin, 0% fee.
  • Growth: $189/mo ($139/mo annual), 50 products, 5 admins, 0% fee.
  • Custom: contact sales.

Teachable Payments processing is listed at 2.9% + 30¢ for US cards and 3.9% + 30¢ internationally, with a $15 chargeback fee. The plan cards show a 7-day free trial plus a 30-day guarantee.

What cohort creators would add

Teachable's older profile shows no native scheduling or calendar sync, so weekly calls rely on Calendly or Zoom. Teachable's listing does not describe a separate community space per intake, and there are no habits, check-ins or per-student plans. The 7.5% Starter fee is steep for a premium cohort. Teachable showed 3.3 on Trustpilot from 1,110 reviews. For more on moving away from it, see our guide to delivering online courses without Teachable.

Pick it over Coachful if your cohort is mostly recorded lessons, a dedicated student app for watching them is the priority, and you are fine running calls and community in other tools.

7. Systeme.io: best for testing a cohort idea for free

Use it to validate demand. If you have not sold a cohort yet and want a sales page, an email list and a course area without paying for software, Systeme.io's free plan covers the basics. It is a low-cost marketing suite with funnels, email, courses, community, a blog and an affiliate program.

The Systeme.io homepage as it appeared in October 2026
Systeme.io's homepage in October 2026.

How far the free plan stretches

The free plan includes 2,000 contacts, 3 funnels, 1 course, 500 students, 1 blog, 1 affiliate program, 1 custom domain, 1 automation rule and 1 email campaign. For a pilot cohort, that is enough to sell 15 seats, deliver the lessons and email the group.

Paid tiers

  • Startup: $17/mo, 5,000 contacts, 10 funnels, 5 courses.
  • Webinar: $47/mo, 10,000 contacts, 50 funnels, 20 courses.
  • Unlimited: $97/mo, unlimited contacts, funnels, courses and automation rules.

Systeme.io charges 0% transaction fees on every plan, including free, with Stripe or PayPal processing only. No card is needed to sign up.

Trade-offs

Community and course features are basic, and the older profile lists no branded mobile app and no native 1:1 scheduling with client records, habits or check-ins. Once a cohort needs weekly accountability and a real group space, you will be stitching tools together. Systeme.io showed 4.9 on Trustpilot from 8,696 reviews. Our list of the cheapest course platforms for coaches compares more low-cost options.

Pick it over Coachful if you want to test whether anyone will buy a cohort before spending on software, and you accept a basic delivery experience for that first run.

How do the seven platforms compare feature by feature?

The matrix below shows which cohort tasks each platform documents natively. "External" means the vendor's own materials or older profile point to another tool for that job.

What does each setup cost per month? Three example stacks

These are illustrative examples, not quotes. Vendor prices are monthly list prices as published in October 2026; card processing (around 2.9% + 30¢ on most) is left out because it applies everywhere. Where a tool lacks a function, we note the extra tool you would need rather than guess its price.

The biggest hidden cost is rarely the course platform itself. It is the scheduler, the community tool and the email tool added around it, plus a percentage fee on entry plans that grows with every seat you sell. Our comparison of platforms that combine courses and 1:1 coaching works through more of these combinations.

How would you set up a cohort in Coachful, step by step?

Here is an example of an eight-week cohort with a start date, a weekly Tuesday call and two private sessions per student. The names and numbers are illustrative.

  1. Build the course. Start from one of the 48 course templates or a blank course. Add eight modules, one per week, with drip so each unlocks seven days after the last. Add a quiz at the end of weeks four and eight.
  2. Wrap it in a program. Create an eight-week program, attach the course, and add weekly goals and daily tasks. A Sunday evening check-in ("What did you finish this week? What got in the way?") gives you a weekly signal from every student.
  3. Set the live calls. Schedule the eight Tuesday group calls with a built-in video link or an auto-created Zoom link. Turn on email reminders, and SMS or WhatsApp once messaging is enabled. Add a 1:1 session type and give each enrolled student two session credits.
  4. Price it. Connect Stripe or Razorpay. Offer a one-time price and a three-part payment plan, and add an order bump for an extra private session. Your cohort price is yours to set; a simple method is to price the live hours and private sessions you deliver, then compare against what your audience already pays for similar programs.
  5. Open enrollment. Use an application funnel if you want to screen fit, or a checkout funnel if not. Add a waitlist lead magnet and a five-email launch sequence with a deadline.
  6. Let the cohort group form. When students enroll, the cohort group is created automatically. Post a welcome thread and pin the call schedule.
  7. Run the weeks. Each Monday, check client statuses. Anyone marked quiet or at risk gets a direct message. Ask Michelle for a brief before each Tuesday call.
  8. Close and reopen. In week eight, send a short feedback form, then invite graduates into an alumni group in the community and open the waitlist for the next start date.

If you would rather not build it yourself, describe the cohort in the white-glove request form and the team will set up the program, course outline, sales page and emails in your account. For a deeper look at running premium groups, see how to deliver cohort based executive masterminds and our group coaching platform guide.

What mistakes do cohort creators make when choosing a platform?

  • Choosing for the video, not the week. Lesson players are similar everywhere. What differs is whether students get a task, a check-in and a nudge between calls.
  • Putting every intake in one community. Mixing cohorts kills the "we started together" feeling. Check how many communities or spaces your plan allows before you launch the second intake.
  • Ignoring percentage fees on premium seats. A 5% or 7.5% fee on a high-ticket cohort seat is real money. Compare it against the next plan up.
  • Adding a scheduler as an afterthought. If your cohort includes private sessions, a separate booking tool means a second login and a second payment flow for students.
  • Forgetting the next cohort. If rebuilding the program for each intake takes a weekend, choose a tool where you can duplicate it.

Which is the best platform for cohort based courses overall?

For most cohort creators, Coachful is the best platform for cohort based courses because the cohort is a program with its own group, weekly calls, tasks and check-ins, all tied to one student record and one app. Kajabi suits creators whose cohort is one product in a large catalog. Thinkific fits big intakes on a traditional LMS. LearnWorlds is the pick for graded, interactive learning. Podia and Teachable are simple course-first options, and Systeme.io is a free way to test demand. If you want to compare more tools side by side, see our comparison hub.

What Coachful is: a coaching platform for coaches who deliver programs, not just sessions, from solo coaches to small teams replacing four to six tools. What it does not do: it is not a course marketplace, not HIPAA-certified and has no PayPal or permanent free plan. How to start: take a free trial and ask for the free white-glove build to get your first cohort set up.

Frequently asked questions

What is a cohort-based course?

A cohort-based course is a course where a group of students starts on the same date, moves through the material together and meets live on a schedule. It usually combines lessons, weekly calls, a private community and assignments. The shared timeline is what drives accountability.

Can I run a cohort on a regular course platform?

Yes, most course platforms can drip lessons and host a community. The gaps tend to be live calls, 1:1 booking and tracking whether each student is keeping up between calls. Check how each tool handles those before you launch.

How many communities do I need for cohorts?

Plan on one space per active intake plus one for alumni. Kajabi's Basic plan includes one community and Thinkific's plans list a set number of communities and spaces. In Coachful, a cohort group is created automatically when someone enrolls in a program.

Does Coachful support payment plans for cohorts?

Yes. Payments run through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account and support one-time payments, subscriptions, payment plans, order bumps and coupons. Coachful charges a 0% platform fee, so you pay only processing.

What is Coachful's free white-glove service?

It is a done-for-you build included on every plan. You describe what you need, such as a cohort program, course outline, sales page or email sequence, attach references, and the Coachful team builds it in your account, usually within about 24 hours. It does not include recording videos, logo design or ads.

Which platform is cheapest for a first cohort?

Systeme.io has a free plan with one course, 500 students and 0% transaction fees, as listed in October 2026. You would still need outside tools for live calls and booking. It suits testing demand more than running a full cohort experience.

Do I need a separate tool for weekly live calls?

On several course platforms, yes: the calls run on Zoom or a similar tool. Coachful includes built-in video and can create Zoom, Meet or Teams links automatically, with reminders on the same calendar as your private sessions.

How do I see which cohort students are falling behind?

Look for check-ins, task completion and a per-student status. Most course tools show lesson progress only. Coachful marks each client as thriving, active, quiet or at risk based on their activity, which makes the weekly follow-up list obvious.

Can I sell a self-paced version alongside the live cohort?

All seven platforms can sell a standalone course. In Coachful you can sell the course on its own or inside bundles, and run the live cohort as a program that includes it, so both versions share the same content.

Is Coachful suitable for health or therapy-based group programs?

Coaching groups, yes; clinical treatment groups, no. Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and is not for clinical records or insurance billing. Coaching is not treatment, so anyone who needs medical or mental-health care should be referred to a licensed professional.
