Life Coaching Packages: Copy-and-Paste Template for 2026

Life coaching packages are easier to sell when every option is written down the same way: how many sessions, over how long, what support the client gets between calls, what is included and what it costs. Below is a free, copy-and-paste package menu for life coaches with four ready offers (a single clarity session, a 3-month program, a 6-month deep dive and a VIP intensive day), bracketed fill-ins for your own details, and price ranges taken from published benchmarks rather than guesses. Paste it into your sales page, your discovery-call follow-up email or a one-page PDF, fill the brackets, and you have a package sheet you can send today.
We make Coachful, a coaching platform where this menu becomes something a client can actually act on: each package is set up as an offer with checkout and payment plans, the coaching agreement is sent and signed before the first call, and the purchase, sessions and signed agreement all sit on the same client record. You do not need Coachful to use the template; it works in a Google Doc. The later sections show both routes so you can choose.
If you want examples rather than a template, read 12 life coaching package examples. If you want the full pricing method, the guide to pricing coaching packages covers scope, costs and margins. This article stays on the document itself.
Where does a package menu sit in the client journey?
The package menu belongs between the first conversation and the first paid session. A prospect enquires, books a discovery call, and within a day of that call receives a menu that matches what they said they wanted. The decision, the payment and the agreement all follow from that one document.
Here is the sequence most life coaches run, and where the menu does its work:
- Enquiry. Someone finds you through your website, a referral or social media and books a free call. Ask two or three intake questions on the booking form (what they want to change, by when, and what they have already tried) so you arrive prepared.
- Discovery call. You listen, reflect back what you heard and, if it is a fit, say which package you would recommend and why. Do not read prices off a list during the call; say you will send the options.
- Package menu sent. This is the template below. It goes out the same day, with the recommended package marked, and a single link or reply instruction to choose one.
- Agreement and payment. The client picks a package, signs the coaching agreement and pays in full or starts a payment plan. The agreement repeats the package terms from the menu word for word, so nothing contradicts.
- Onboarding. A welcome message, a short pre-work exercise (a wheel of life works well for life coaching) and the first session booked.
- Between sessions. Whatever support you promised in the menu (messaging, check-ins, habits, worksheets) starts here. This is where packages are kept or quietly broken.
- Renewal point. Two to three sessions before the end, you review progress and offer the next step, which is usually the next package up or a lighter maintenance option.
A menu that is vague about step 6 causes most of the friction later. Clients remember "unlimited support" long after you have forgotten writing it. The template therefore forces you to spell out between-session support for every package.

What is in the life coaching packages template?
The template has eleven numbered sections: a short opening, the outcome you work toward, four packages in a fixed format, what is not included, scheduling rules, session expiry with pausing and upgrading, payment and refund terms, and the next step. Copy all of it, delete the packages you do not offer, and replace every [bracketed] item.
A note on the four packages before you copy. They mirror the four shapes that life coaches most often sell, as recorded in the Coachful 2026 Coaching Business Report: a short starter, a 3-month program, a 6-month deep dive and a one-day intensive. The sessions and lengths in the template follow that report; the investment lines are left blank on purpose so you can price them with the method further down.

[Your name] Coaching: Ways to Work Together
Prepared for [client first name] on [date], following our call on [call date].
- Why you are receiving this
- On our call you told me you want to [client's goal in their own words, for example "stop drifting at work and decide whether to stay or leave by spring"].
- Below are the ways I work with clients on exactly that. I have marked the one I recommend for you, with the reason.

- What we will work toward
- By the end of our work together, you will have: [concrete outcome 1, for example "a decision on your role, written down with your reasons"], [concrete outcome 2, for example "a weekly routine you have kept for at least four weeks"] and [concrete outcome 3, for example "a plan for the next 6 months you can follow without me"].
- What I cannot promise: specific results such as a new job, a relationship or an income figure. Those depend on you and on circumstances neither of us controls. What I do promise is structure, honesty and follow-through on my side.
- Option 1: Clarity Session [mark "Recommended" here if it is]
- Sessions: 1 session of [90] minutes by [video / phone / in person at address].
- Length: one meeting, with a written summary sent within [48 hours].

- Best for: someone who needs one focused conversation to decide on a next step, or who wants to try coaching before committing.

- Investment: [$ amount], paid in full at booking, or [2] payments of [$ amount] with the second due before the day.
- What coaching does not include
- Coaching is not therapy, counselling, medical care, legal advice or financial advice. If something we discuss needs one of those, I will say so and suggest you see a qualified professional; we can pause or continue coaching alongside that support.
- Messaging support is for questions, wins and quick nudges between sessions. It is not an emergency service. If you are ever in crisis, contact [local emergency number] or [local crisis line].
- Not included unless listed above: [extra sessions beyond the package], [work with your partner or family members], [written feedback on documents longer than 2 pages].
- Scheduling, rescheduling and missed sessions
- You book sessions yourself through [booking link or "the app"]. Sessions are available [days and hours, with time zone].
- You can reschedule for free up to [24 / 48] hours before a session. Later than that, or if you do not attend, the session counts as used. [I allow one exception per package.]
- If I need to reschedule, the session is moved at no cost to you and never lost.
- Session expiry, pausing and upgrading
- Sessions in each package must be used within [package length plus 4 weeks]. Unused sessions after that date expire.
- You can pause once for up to [4] weeks for illness, bereavement or travel. The end date moves by the same amount.
- You can upgrade from [Option 2] to [Option 3] at any time before your [6th] session; what you have paid counts toward the new package.
- Payment and refunds
- Payment is by [card / bank transfer] through [payment system]. Payment plans are charged automatically on the same date each month.
- Cancellation and refunds: [your policy, for example "You can cancel within 7 days of purchase for a full refund if no session has taken place. After the first session, payments already made are not refunded, and remaining plan payments stop only if you give 30 days' notice"]. [Add any cooling-off rights your country requires.]
- Prices include / exclude [VAT or sales tax at X%].
- Your next step
- To start, choose your option here: [checkout link], or reply to this email with the option name.
- Once you have paid, you will receive the coaching agreement to sign and a link to book your first session. That first session can be as soon as [date].
- These options and prices are held for you until [date, usually 7 days]. Questions are welcome before then: [email or phone].
End of template.
How should you fill in the prices?
Start from the published ranges for life coaching packages, then move up or down for your experience, niche and how much between-session support you give. Write a single price per package, not a range, and always show the payment-plan total next to the monthly figure.
The ranges below come from the Coachful 2026 Coaching Business Report, which lists them as estimates from practitioner reports and a small verified sample of published life coach rates (18 coaches). Treat them as a sense of the spread, not as a rule. The life coach rates guide breaks them down by niche and career stage.
| Package shape | Sessions | Length | Typically includes | Published range (USD) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | 4 × 60 min | 4 weeks | Sessions and email support | $400 to $600 |
| 3-month program | 8 × 60 min | 3 months | Sessions, email and worksheets | $1,200 to $2,500 |
| 6-month deep dive | 12 to 16 × 60 min | 6 months | Sessions, chat and accountability | $2,500 to $5,000 |
| VIP intensive day | 1 full day | 1 day | Deep-dive session and follow-up | $750 to $2,000 |
For a single session, the same report puts life coaching at roughly $75 to $200 an hour (PayScale data and practitioner estimates), with the verified sample clustering between $100 and $250 per session. Your Clarity Session price can sit at or slightly above your hourly figure, since it is 90 minutes and includes a written plan.
Three checks before you commit to the numbers:
- Per-session logic. Divide each package price by its sessions. The longer packages should cost less per session than buying sessions one at a time, but not so much less that the single session looks like a trap.
- Support cost. Messaging and check-ins take time. If Option 3 promises weekday replies, estimate the hours per week and price them in. The package pricing calculator does this arithmetic for you.
- Gap between tiers. A buyer compares options against each other first. If Option 3 is barely more than Option 2, few people pick Option 2; if it is three times as much, few pick Option 3. How to structure three coaching packages covers the spacing.
What does each section do, and what should you watch for?
Each section answers one question a buyer has before paying. The table lists them with the mistake that most often slips into each.
| Section | Why it matters | What to watch for |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Why you are receiving this | Shows you listened. Quoting the client's own goal makes the menu about them, not you. | Generic openers ("Thank you for your interest"). Use their words from the call. |
| 2. What we will work toward | Sets outcomes you can actually deliver and names what you cannot promise. | Income, relationship or job guarantees. They create refund disputes and can breach advertising rules. |
| 3. Clarity Session | A low-risk first step for people not ready to commit. | Making it so complete that the client has no reason to continue. Leave the plan for them to act on, with a credit toward a longer package. |
| 4. 3-month program | Usually the main offer for life coaches: long enough for a habit to stick, short enough to say yes to. | Vague support ("access to me"). Write the reply window and channel. |
| 5. 6-month deep dive | For bigger transitions where the middle months are where clients drop off. | Front-loading every session so months 4 to 6 are empty. Taper the cadence instead. |
| 6. VIP day | Sells to people with money but little calendar time. | Forgetting preparation and follow-up time when pricing. A 6-hour day is often 10 hours of your work. |
| 7. What coaching does not include | Your scope of practice in plain language, plus a crisis line. | Leaving it out because it feels awkward. It protects the client and you. |
| 8. Scheduling rules | Prevents the most common argument in coaching: the missed session. | Rules you will not enforce. If you always forgive late cancellations, say "one exception per package" instead. |
| 9. Expiry, pausing, upgrading | Stops packages from running for a year and gives clients a path upward. | No expiry at all. Unused sessions become a liability you carry indefinitely. |
| 10. Payment and refunds | Clear money terms before purchase are what make a dispute easy to resolve. | Copying a refund clause from another country. Consumer rules differ. |
| 11. Next step | One action, one link, one deadline. | Offering three ways to pay and two ways to book. Pick one each. |
What must life coaches add before sending it?
Four things the template cannot fill in for you: your scope line, your crisis and referral plan, how you handle personal information, and the consumer and tax rules where you and your client live.
Scope of practice
Life coaching works with people who are functioning well enough to set goals and act on them. It is not treatment for depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction or relationship abuse. Keep the "What coaching does not include" section, and decide in advance what you will do if signs of those appear: persistent hopelessness, talk of self-harm, inability to function at work or home, substance use that is getting worse, or fear of a partner. In those cases, refer to a licensed mental-health professional and, where there is immediate risk, to emergency services or a crisis line (in the US, the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline). The ICF Code of Ethics asks coaches to be clear about the nature and limits of coaching and to refer when another professional is better placed to help.
Sensitive information
Clients tell life coaches about health, family, money and relationships. Collect only what you need on intake forms, keep it in one place with a password, and say in your privacy notice how long you keep it. Coachful is GDPR-ready but is not HIPAA-certified, so if you are also a licensed clinician, clinical records belong in a clinical system, not in a coaching platform.
Consumer rules and tax
Refund rights vary by country. For example, consumers buying services at a distance in the EU generally have a 14-day right to withdraw, with exceptions once the service has started at the consumer's request (see the EU's guidance on returns and withdrawal). Whether you must charge VAT or sales tax on coaching depends on where you and your client are. In the US, the IRS self-employed tax center is the starting point for income tax; check with an accountant for your situation.

How do you run this package menu inside Coachful?
In Coachful, each option in the template becomes an offer with its own checkout, and the rest of the menu (agreement, booking, between-session support, invoices) is attached to the same client record. Here is the journey from the section above, step by step, with what you set up and what the client sees.
1. Build each package as an offer
Create one offer per option, with the name, description and included items from the template. Payments run through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account, and you can set one-time payment, a subscription or a payment plan, plus coupons and order bumps (for example, adding the VIP day to a 6-month deep dive at checkout). Paid sessions and session credits mean an 8-session package arrives with 8 sessions to book, and you can see how many are left. Coachful charges a 0% platform fee on these payments; only Stripe or Razorpay processing applies.

Clients can browse your offers and bundles from their own branded home, so the package menu is also available after they become a client, which is useful at the renewal point.

This short walkthrough shows how bundles are put together:
2. Ask intake questions on the discovery-call booking
Your free discovery call is a booking page with availability rules, buffers, minimum notice and time-zone detection, and it syncs both ways with Google, Apple/iCloud or Outlook calendars. Add the two or three intake questions from step 1 of the journey. The answers land on the prospect's record, and the Intakes page shows upcoming calls and how many converted.
3. Send the coaching agreement before the first call
The coaching agreement, with the package terms from sections 8 to 10 of the template, is sent for e-signature before the first session and stored on the client record. If you already have agreements signed elsewhere, you can drop the signed PDF onto the client's Agreements tab. More on this on the coaching contracts page.

4. Deliver the between-session support you promised
This is where a written package either holds or slips. For Option 2 and Option 3, set up the program as weeks with goals, daily tasks and habits, and add morning or evening check-ins from the coaching flows library. The client sees their current week, ticks off habits and answers check-ins in their branded app; you see check-in rates, streaks and whether each client is thriving, active, quiet or at risk.

If you run a group version of Option 2, a cohort group is created automatically when clients enroll, with a community feed and group chat. The coaching program software page covers delivery in more depth.
5. Keep invoices and session counts in one place
Each transaction produces an invoice, and you can create manual invoices for anything sold outside checkout. Payment-plan instalments, refunds and remaining session credits sit on the client record next to their notes and goals. Tracking session credits and automating invoices walks through that side in detail.

What the client sees
From the client's side, the journey is one place: their next session, their program, progress, and documents such as the signed agreement and your written plan. Pre-session items, like the Clarity Session questionnaire, show up as something to complete before the call.

What Coachful is, and what it does not do
Coachful is a coaching platform for coaches who deliver programs, not only sessions. One membership covers booking, payments, contracts, programs with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and Michelle, the built-in AI assistant. It suits solo life coaches and small teams who are replacing four to six separate tools. It does not take PayPal, has no permanent free plan, is not HIPAA-certified, and the client app ships under the Coachful listing with your branding rather than under your own App Store account. To start, take a free trial (current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients) and ask the team to set up your packages for you. The page for life coaches shows the full setup.
Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. From Create, choose "We'll build it for you" and describe what you want: for example, your four packages as offers, a sales page that presents them, a discovery-call funnel and the follow-up email that sends the menu. You can attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files, such as this template filled in. The Coachful team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours. Nothing gets invented: no prices, credentials or testimonials you did not supply, and gaps are left for you to fill. Read more about the free white-glove service.

Which way should you send and store your package menu?
Any of these will deliver the document. The difference is what happens after the client says yes: whether payment, agreement, booking and support are connected, or whether you copy details between tools by hand.
| Option | How the menu is sent | Payment and agreement | Between-session support | Cost (as listed October 2026) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Offers and bundles with checkout links, plus a sales page or funnel | Payment plans through your Stripe or Razorpay; agreement e-signed before the first call and stored on the client record | Programs, habits, check-ins, messaging and community in the client's branded app | Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients |
| PDF or Word file | Email attachment | Separate payment link and separate signature step | None built in | Whatever you already pay for word processing |
| Google Docs or Forms | Shared link; a form can collect the client's choice | Separate payment link and signature tool | None built in | Included in a Google account; business plans vary |
| An e-signature tool | Menu and agreement sent as one signing document | Signature handled; payment usually separate | None built in | Varies by tool and plan |
| Paperbell | Package pages with checkout | Packages, payments and contracts built in | Client portal; no goal or habit tracking (older profile) | $97/mo, or $80.83/mo billed annually |
| CoachVantage | Sales and booking pages | Contracts with e-signature; Clarity plan limited to 4 e-signatures a month | Client portal and group programs | Clarity $39/mo, Aha! $59/mo |
| Practice Better | Client portal and programs | Billing built in; payments powered by Stripe | Programs and client portal, aimed at wellness practitioners | Free Sprout plan for 3 clients; paid from $35/mo |
A PDF is fine for your first few clients. Once you are sending the menu every week, the time goes into the steps around it: chasing signatures, matching payments to people and reminding clients about sessions they have left.
Other coaching tools that handle packages
Two dedicated coaching tools come up often for package selling. Paperbell is a single-plan admin tool for solo coaches covering booking, packages, payments, contracts and a simple website; its pricing page lists one plan at $97 a month with unlimited clients and packages. CoachVantage prices per coach with unlimited clients, and its lower Clarity plan caps booking pages, sales pages and e-signatures. Both are documented as lacking the habit and check-in tracking that the between-session part of Options 2 and 3 relies on (Paperbell per an older profile). For a wider comparison, see the platforms for selling coaching packages.

What does a filled-in package menu look like?
Below is an example for a fictional coach and client. The names are invented and the prices are illustrative, chosen to sit inside the published ranges above. Your numbers will differ.

Example only. Coach: Rowan Ellis, a life coach working with people in their 40s facing a career or life transition. Client: Priya, who on the discovery call said she wants to "stop feeling stuck at work and decide whether to retrain before my daughter starts university".
- Why you are receiving this. On our call you told me you want to stop feeling stuck at work and decide whether to retrain before September. I recommend Option 2, because you have one clear decision to make and a fixed date to make it by.
- What we will work toward. A written decision on retraining with your reasons; a weekly 2-hour block for research and applications kept for at least six weeks; a 6-month plan you can follow on your own. I cannot promise a place on a course or a new job.
- Option 1: Clarity Session. One 90-minute video session, a written summary within 48 hours and one follow-up email within 14 days. Includes a values exercise and a 5-step action plan. Investment: $250 (example). Fully credited if you join Option 2 within 30 days.
- Option 2: Decide and Move (recommended). 8 sessions of 60 minutes over 3 months; weekday messaging with replies within 1 business day; a 3-question Sunday check-in in the app; tracking for up to 3 habits; a halfway review. Investment: $1,800 paid in full, or 3 monthly payments of $630 (total $1,890), example figures.
- Option 3: The Whole-Life Rebuild. 14 sessions over 6 months, weekly for 8 weeks then fortnightly; weekday messaging; weekly check-ins; one 15-minute call a month when stuck; a final handover session. Investment: $3,360 paid in full, or 6 payments of $590 (total $3,540), example figures.
- Option 4: One-Day Life Plan Intensive. A 5-hour video day within 4 weeks, a 30-minute preparation call, a written plan in 3 business days, follow-up calls at 2 and 6 weeks, 30 days of messaging. Investment: $1,200 (example).
- Not included. Therapy, financial advice on course fees or loans, and sessions with family members. If you are ever in crisis, call 911 or the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
- Scheduling. Book through the app, Tuesday to Thursday, 9am to 6pm Eastern. Free rescheduling up to 24 hours before; one late-cancellation exception per package.
- Expiry, pausing, upgrading. Option 2 sessions must be used within 4 months. One pause of up to 4 weeks. Upgrade to Option 3 before your 6th session with all payments credited.
- Payment and refunds. Card payments; plans charge on the same date monthly. Full refund within 7 days of purchase if no session has taken place. Prices exclude any sales tax that applies.
- Next step. Choose your option through the checkout link, or reply with the option name. These prices are held until 14 March.
Run the per-session check on the example: $250 for the 90-minute Clarity Session, $225 per session in Option 2 and $240 per session in Option 3. Option 2 is the cheapest per session because it is the recommended main offer. Option 3 costs a little more per session because it carries six months of messaging and a monthly extra call. If your own numbers point clients somewhere you did not intend, adjust before sending.
What are the most common mistakes in life coaching packages?
Most problems come from promising more support than you have priced, or from leaving rules unwritten until a client tests them.
- Selling hours instead of an outcome. "8 sessions" tells the client what you do. "A decision, a routine and a plan" tells them what they get. Lead with section 2. How to write package descriptions has wording examples.
- Unlimited messaging. It sounds generous and is the first thing to burn you out. Name the channel, the days and the reply window.
- Too many options. Four is the maximum on one menu. If you offer all four, mark one as recommended for this client so they compare against it.
- No expiry date. Without one, a 3-month package can stretch to a year of occasional sessions.
- Payment plans that cost the same as paying in full. A small premium on the plan total is normal and honest if it is shown clearly.
- A menu and an agreement that disagree. If the menu says 24-hour rescheduling and the agreement says 48, the client will quote the friendlier one. Copy the terms across exactly.
- Prices said aloud on the call. Send them in writing, the same day, so the client can think and compare. For larger packages, selling high-ticket coaching packages covers the call itself.
- Promising results. No coach can guarantee a promotion, a partner or an income. Promise structure and effort on your side instead.
Is this template legal or financial advice?
No. This template is a starting point for a sales document, not legal, tax, medical or financial advice. Refund rights, cancellation rules, tax on services and advertising rules differ by state and country, and change over time.
Have a local lawyer review your refund and cancellation wording and your coaching agreement before you rely on them, especially if you sell to clients in other countries or offer payment plans. Ask an accountant whether you must charge VAT or sales tax and how to record payment-plan income. If you are also a licensed therapist or clinician, check with your licensing body how coaching and clinical work must be kept separate.
Frequently asked questions
How many life coaching packages should I offer?
Two or three is enough for most life coaches: a way to start, a main program and a bigger option. The template includes four so you can delete what you do not need. If you list all four, mark one as recommended for each client so the choice feels guided.
What should a 3-month life coaching package include?
The common shape is 8 sessions of 60 minutes, email or message support between sessions, and worksheets, as listed in the Coachful 2026 Coaching Business Report. Add a halfway review and a simple weekly check-in so progress is visible. Write the reply window for messages so the support is clear.
How much do life coaching packages cost?
Published ranges put a 3-month, 8-session package at about $1,200 to $2,500 and a 6-month deep dive at about $2,500 to $5,000. These are estimates from practitioner reports and a small verified sample, so use them for orientation. Price from your own costs and support load with the package pricing calculator.
Should I put prices on my website or only in the package menu?
Both approaches work. Publishing at least a starting price filters out people who cannot afford you, while sending a tailored menu after the call lets you recommend one option with reasons. Many life coaches show a "from" price on the site and send the full menu after the discovery call.
Do I need a contract if I have a package menu?
Yes. The menu describes the offer; the coaching agreement is what the client signs. Copy the scheduling, expiry, payment and refund terms from the menu into the agreement word for word, and have a local lawyer review it.
How do I handle clients who never use all their sessions?
Set an expiry date in the menu (package length plus a few weeks is common) and remind clients when sessions are about to lapse. Tracking session credits on the client record makes the reminder easy. Decide in advance whether you allow one extension, and write it down.
Can I run a group version of these packages?
Yes. Option 2 works well as a cohort: weekly group calls, a shared community, and individual check-ins and habits. Price it lower per person than one-to-one and cap the group size so you can still reply to messages within your stated window.
Is coaching the same as therapy?
No. Life coaching helps people who are functioning well set and reach goals; it does not diagnose or treat mental-health conditions. Keep the scope section in your menu and refer clients to a licensed professional when you see signs of crisis, trauma or worsening mental health.
What is Coachful's free white-glove service?
It is a build service included on every Coachful plan: you describe what you want (offers, a sales page, a funnel, a program or emails), attach up to 8 links and 10 files, and the team builds it inside your account, usually within about 24 hours. It does not invent prices, credentials or testimonials, and it does not include recording videos or running ads. You can send it this filled-in template as the brief.
Can I use this template without Coachful?
Yes. The template is free and works as a Google Doc, a PDF or an email. Coachful helps when you want the packages, checkout, agreement, sessions and between-session support connected to one client record instead of spread over several tools.
