Best App for Sleep Coaches: Top 7 Picks for 2026

Best App for Sleep Coaches: Top 7 Picks for 2026

The best app for sleep coaches is the one your clients will actually open at 10 p.m. and again at 7 a.m. Sleep coaching lives in two small daily moments: a wind-down routine at night and an honest look back in the morning. So the deciding question is not which tool has the longest feature list, but which app makes those two moments easy for the client, keeps the weekly lesson and your messages in the same place, and feeds everything back to the record you read before each call.

Our pick is Coachful's client app. Clients install it on iPhone or Android, open your branded space inside it, and find morning and evening check-ins, habit streaks, program weeks, lessons, messages and a community in one login. Your booking, payments, agreements and client records sit behind the same account, so nothing has to be copied between tools. We make Coachful, so read the criteria below and judge the ranking on them. If you are choosing the back office rather than the client experience, our companion guide to the best software for sleep coaches covers that side.

Which app fits your situation? Quick picks

Coachful is the best overall choice; the other six each win a narrower scenario. Ranking criteria in one line: one login for the whole client journey, daily between-session delivery (check-ins, habits, lessons), total monthly stack cost, and setup effort, including Coachful's free white-glove build.

What do sleep coaching clients actually do in an app each week?

They log, reflect and practise in short bursts: a morning entry about the night, an evening wind-down routine, one lesson a week and a message or two to the coach. An app that handles those four jobs well beats one with fifty features the client never touches.

A typical week for a client working on insomnia-adjacent habits, shift-work recovery or plain poor routines looks something like this:

  • Every morning: a short sleep diary entry. Bedtime, rough time to fall asleep, wake-ups, final wake time and a 1 to 5 rating of how rested they feel. Sleep diaries are a long-standing tool for exactly this kind of self-monitoring (Wikipedia's overview of the sleep diary is a fair primer).
  • Every evening: ticking off the wind-down habits you agreed: caffeine cut-off, screens away, lights dimmed, a set bedtime. The streak matters more than any single night.
  • Once a week: a lesson on one theme (light exposure, the bedroom environment, worry time, consistent wake times), plus a weekly reflection.
  • When something goes wrong: a message. "Woke at 3 a.m. again, what do I do tonight?" is the kind of question that loses its value if it waits for next Tuesday's call.
  • Before each session: a quick pre-session form so you walk in knowing how the week went.

Two things follow from that list. First, the app has to be on the phone, because nobody opens a laptop at 6:45 a.m. to log a bad night. Second, the coach needs to see all of it without exporting spreadsheets. The CDC's guidance that adults need at least seven hours a night (CDC: About Sleep) is the kind of benchmark clients ask about; the app should let you send that context as a lesson, not bury it in a PDF.

If you want a structured starting point for what to ask in those check-ins, our sleep hygiene coaching assessment lays out seven areas and a worksheet you can turn into intake questions.

How did we choose and rank these apps?

We ranked each app by the client experience first and the coach's back office second, using what vendors document and what public reviewers report. We did not run hands-on tests, and we say so wherever a detail comes from an older vendor profile.

  1. Daily check-ins and habits. Can the coach send a morning and an evening check-in and track habit streaks without bolting on another tool?
  2. Program and lesson access. Can a client follow week three of an eight-week plan on their phone?
  3. Messaging and community. Direct messages for the 3 a.m. question; a group space for cohort programs.
  4. Branding. Does the client see your name and colours, or the vendor's?
  5. Phone availability. A real iPhone and Android app, or a mobile browser only.
  6. Back office connection. Do bookings, payments and notes live behind the same login?
  7. Monthly cost for a realistic client count. Prices are as listed in October 2026.

We left out tools we would not recommend to a sleep coach for the client side. Paperbell and Satori are capable admin tools, but both lack a native mobile app according to their profiles (September 2026), so a client logs a sleep diary through a mobile browser. They suit coaches who mostly sell session packages. For a wider look at portals, see coaching portals with a mobile app.

1. Coachful: what is the best overall app for sleep coaching clients?

Coachful wins the scenario most sleep coaches are in: a multi-week program where the client needs a small daily nudge, a weekly lesson and a direct line to you, and where you want to run the business behind it without four other subscriptions. The client downloads one app on iPhone or Android, signs in, and sees your branding, your programs and your community.

The morning and evening loop

Coachful's programs support weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, and morning and evening check-ins. For a sleep client that maps neatly onto the two moments that matter. The evening check-in is where they mark their wind-down routine and note anything unusual (a late meal, a stressful day). The morning check-in becomes their sleep diary: bedtime, wake time, how many times they woke and how rested they feel. You write the questions, so the diary matches your method rather than a generic template.

Habits carry streaks, and goals carry progress bars, so a client who has kept a consistent wake time for twelve days can see it. That visible streak is often what keeps people going through the dull middle weeks of a sleep plan, when the novelty has faded and results are still uneven.

Here is how the check-in flows look when you build them. This short walkthrough shows the morning and evening flows from the coach's side:

Lessons, programs and community in the same app

Courses with modules, lessons, drip release and completion tracking are delivered into the client's branded home and app, alongside downloads, videos, books and events. A sleep coach can release one lesson a week (light in the morning, caffeine timing, the bedroom, worry scheduling) and see who completed it. Coachful includes more than 40 ready-to-film program templates and 48 course templates with quizzes if you would rather adapt a structure than start blank.

When a client enrolls in a group program, Coachful creates a cohort group automatically. The community feed, group chat, direct messages and video events all sit in the same app, so a "6-Week Sleep Reset" cohort can share wins in a group thread while each person still messages you privately.

What you see as the coach

Everything the client logs lands on their client record: goals, check-ins, habits, notes, intake answers, tags, payments and sessions. Each client carries a status of thriving, active, quiet or at risk, which is useful in sleep work, where a client who stops logging is often the one who had a rough week. Michelle, the built-in AI assistant, works from that live data and can brief you before a session or summarize a recorded call. Questions and planning are included in your Coachful membership; confirmed builds and changes use AI credits.

Behind the app, the rest of the business runs from the same login: booking pages with buffers, minimum notice and time-zone detection; two-way Google, Apple/iCloud and Outlook calendar sync; built-in video or auto-created Zoom, Meet or Teams links; email reminders, plus SMS 24 hours before and WhatsApp 1 hour before once messaging is enabled; coaching agreements with e-signature sent before the first call; and payments through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account, with a 0% Coachful platform fee since August 2026 (only Stripe or Razorpay processing applies). There is also an AI Coach option: an AI version of you that selected clients can chat with between sessions, configured by you, which some coaches use for those late-night "what do I do now?" moments.

Limits a sleep coach should know

  • No wearable sync. Coachful does not sync with Oura, Garmin, Fitbit or Whoop, and Apple Health sync is not publicly available. Clients type in what their device reports, or simply how the night felt.
  • Not a clinical record. Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and offers no BAA. It is not built for clinical record-keeping or insurance billing, so a sleep coach working inside a medical practice should keep clinical notes elsewhere.
  • Branding sits inside the Coachful app. Clients download the Coachful app and see your branding inside it; you do not get your own App Store listing. Our guide to custom branded coaching apps explains when that trade-off matters.
  • No PayPal and no permanent free plan. There is a free trial, then a flat monthly plan.

Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. From Create, then "We'll build it for you · FREE", you describe what you want: a sleep program with weekly goals and check-ins, a course outline, an intake form, a website or a funnel. You can attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files, such as a logo, brand guide or your existing sleep diary template. The Coachful team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours. Nothing gets invented: no fake credentials, testimonials or prices, and gaps are left for you to fill. It does not cover recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing. One example: a menopause and midlife health coach starting from nothing got a five-page site in sage and cream with every button leading to a free 20-minute consultation. More detail is in our white-glove service guide.

What Coachful is, in brief. Coachful is a coaching platform based in Tallinn, Estonia. One subscription covers booking, payments, contracts, programs with habits and check-ins, courses, community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant, with one login for you and one branded app for your clients. It is built for coaches who deliver programs rather than just sessions, solo coaches growing into a small team, and coaches replacing four to six tools. It does not do clinical records, wearable sync or PayPal. To start, take the free trial and request a free white-glove build of your first sleep program. Current plans: (Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients). Coachful holds a Trustpilot rating of 4.5 from 21 reviews. Health coaches who cover sleep alongside nutrition and stress can also see the Coachful page for health coaches.

2. Everfit: is it a good fit when sleep is one part of a fitness practice?

Everfit wins when you are a fitness coach for whom sleep is one pillar among training and nutrition, and you want to start free. Its Starter plan is free for up to 5 clients, and the paid Pro plan starts at $19/month for 5 clients, rising to $29 for 10, $49 for 20 and $95 for 50 (lower on annual billing), as listed in October 2026.

Everfit homepage introducing its fitness coaching app for workouts, habits and nutrition
Everfit's homepage in October 2026.

Everfit is a fitness coaching app built around workouts, habits, nutrition and messaging, and the client side lives in its mobile app. For a sleep coach the habit tracker is the useful part: a "lights out by 10:30" habit or a "no caffeine after 2 p.m." habit sits next to the client's workouts, which is a natural fit when you coach athletes or busy professionals on recovery. The vendor offers a 30-day free trial with no contract and no credit card.

The gaps show once sleep is the main product. Automation (Autoflow), payments and meal plans are paid add-ons, and Everfit has no course builder, no website or funnels and no email marketing. A sleep coach who teaches through weekly lessons will need a separate course tool, and a separate site to sell from. Public reviewers on Trustpilot give it 2.7 from 16 reviews (seen October 2026), a small sample, so treat it as a signal rather than a verdict.

Pick it over Coachful if you are mainly a strength or conditioning coach, sleep is a supporting habit rather than the program, and a free plan for five clients matters more than lessons, community and a website in one place.

3. ABC Trainerize: when does a personal trainer's app make sense for sleep habits?

For personal trainers and gyms that already run clients through Trainerize, adding sleep habits inside the same app is the easiest route. The free Basic plan covers 1 client, Grow is $10/month for 2 clients, and Pro starts at $25/month for 5 clients with tiers at 15, 30, 50, 75, 100 and 200 clients, as listed in October 2026.

ABC Trainerize homepage presenting its personal training and client app platform
ABC Trainerize's homepage in October 2026.

Trainerize is a fitness and personal-training app covering workouts, habits, nutrition tracking and messaging, priced by client seats. The client experience is centred on training, with habits and messaging alongside. A trainer can assign a nightly wind-down habit and chat with the client in the app, which covers the basics of between-session accountability.

Much of what a full sleep program needs costs extra. Scheduling, selling products, payments, video and advanced nutrition are separate paid add-ons below the Studio tier, and there is no course builder, website, funnels or email marketing. An older profile also notes that client data export is incomplete (no messages, photos or attachments), which matters if you ever move platforms. The trial is generous: 30 days with unlimited clients and no credit card, then the account drops to the free 1-client plan. Trustpilot shows 3.1 from 100 reviews (seen October 2026).

Pick it over Coachful if your clients come to you for training first, you already run a Trainerize gym or studio, and sleep is an extra habit card rather than a structured multi-week program with lessons.

4. Practice Better: is a clinic-style portal right for sleep work?

Practice Better suits the sleep practitioner who also does clinical-style work: charting, telehealth and billing, for example a nutritionist or functional practitioner who adds sleep consultations. It is a direct substitute for a coaching platform, built for wellness and nutrition practitioners.

Practice Better homepage describing its practice management platform for wellness practitioners
Practice Better's homepage in October 2026.

Its plans, as listed in October 2026: Sprout is free for 3 clients; Starter is $35/month ($25 annual) for 10 clients; Professional is $69/month ($59 annual) for 300 clients; Plus is $99/month ($89 annual) for unlimited clients; Team is $155/month ($145 annual) for 2 practitioners. Clients use a client portal and mobile app, with programs, scheduling and messaging. Our breakdown of the Practice Better app covers what clients see in more detail.

The catch for a sleep coach is where features start. Evergreen programs, portal branding, a custom URL and SMS start on Plus at $99/month, so the cheaper tiers show clients a less personal experience. An older profile notes no website builder or funnel pages, and one practitioner per account below Team. Trials run 14 days on most paid plans and 30 days on Team. Trustpilot shows 3.8 from 87 reviews (seen October 2026).

Pick it over Coachful if you need charting and telehealth in a practice-management shape, or you work in a setting that expects clinical-style records, and you are comfortable buying your website and marketing elsewhere.

5. CoachAccountable: which sleep coaches can live without a native app?

CoachAccountable wins one narrow case: a coach who runs a metrics-heavy method (worksheets, action plans, numeric tracking) for a small number of one-to-one clients and accepts that clients will use a mobile browser. According to its profile (September 2026), CoachAccountable has no native mobile app, which is the main reason it sits in the lower half of a ranking about the client's phone experience.

CoachAccountable homepage describing its coaching back office for sessions and action plans
CoachAccountable's homepage in October 2026.

As a back office it is capable: sessions, action plans, metrics, worksheets, courses, invoicing and agreements. Metrics suit sleep work well, since a coach can track hours slept or wake time week by week. Public reviewers rate it highly, with 4.8 from 47 reviews on Trustpilot (seen October 2026).

Pricing is per active client, as listed in October 2026: Starter $20/month for 2, Level 1 $40/month for 5, Level 2 $70/month for 10, Level 3 $120/month for 20, Level 4 $250/month for 50 and Level 5 $400/month for 100. That gets expensive for a group sleep reset with thirty participants. There are no landing pages, website or marketing automation (older profile), and by its own statement it is not HIPAA compliant. A 30-day trial with no credit card lets you test the browser experience on your own phone first. If this is your current tool, our CoachAccountable alternatives page compares options.

Pick it over Coachful if you coach a handful of private clients who are happy to log numbers in a browser, and your method depends on detailed custom metrics more than on a phone app, lessons or community.

6. Mighty Networks: does a community-first app work for group sleep programs?

Mighty Networks fits the coach whose main product is a paid group: a 30-day sleep challenge, a membership for new parents, or a community for shift workers. Members use a Mighty-branded app with community, courses, events and livestreams in one place.

Mighty Networks homepage presenting its community, courses and events platform
Mighty Networks's homepage in October 2026.

Plans as listed in October 2026: Launch is $95/month ($79 annual) with 3 hosts and livestreaming up to 20 hours a month; Scale is $215/month ($179 annual). Mighty takes a platform fee on sales of 2% on Launch, 1% on Scale and 0.5% on Growth and Mighty Pro, on top of Stripe processing. Your own branded apps are only available on the custom-priced Mighty Pro plan. There is a 14-day trial with no credit card.

What it lacks is the one-to-one side. There is no 1:1 scheduling, invoicing or contracts, and no per-client habits, check-ins or private coaching plans. A sleep diary would have to be a post, a poll or an outside form, which loses the private, daily rhythm sleep clients need. Trustpilot shows 3.3 from 219 reviews (seen October 2026). For more on running groups, see our page on community platforms for coaches.

Pick it over Coachful if your business is mainly a large paid community, private daily check-ins are not part of the offer, and you are willing to pay a share of sales for the community features.

7. Circle: should you add sleep content to an existing membership?

Circle is the right call when you already run a sizeable membership on it and want to add a sleep module or a sleep-focused space, rather than launch a separate coaching product. It is a community platform with courses, events, livestreams and paid memberships.

Circle homepage presenting its community platform with courses, events and memberships
Circle's homepage in October 2026.

Annual-billing prices as listed in October 2026: Professional $89/month, Business $199/month and Scale $419/month, with custom-priced Circle Plus above them. Circle charges a fee on payments of 2% on Professional, 1% on Business and Scale and 0.5% on Circle Plus, plus Stripe processing. Branded mobile apps are only available on Circle Plus; on other plans members use Circle's own app. A 14-day trial with no credit card covers Professional, Business and Scale. Trustpilot shows 4.1 from 129 reviews (seen October 2026).

Like Mighty Networks, Circle has no 1:1 scheduling or client management, and no per-client habits, check-ins or coaching plans. It is strong for discussion and content, weak for the private morning log that drives most sleep coaching.

Pick it over Coachful if your audience already lives in a Circle community, sleep is one topic among many, and you need moderation tools for a large membership more than private client records.

How do the client apps compare feature by feature?

Only Coachful covers daily check-ins, habits, lessons, messaging, community and a connected back office in one client app; the others are strong in one or two columns.

What does a week in Coachful's app look like for one client?

Here is an illustrative week for an example client, Sam, a nurse rotating off night shifts, enrolled in a six-week sleep program. Sam is invented for this walkthrough; the screens are real Coachful features.

Monday, 7:10 a.m. Sam opens the app and the morning check-in is waiting: bedtime, wake time, wake-ups and a rested rating. It takes under a minute. The goal page shows a progress bar for "Consistent wake time, 5 of 7 days".

Monday, 9:00 a.m. Week two's lesson unlocks on drip: morning light after a night shift. Sam reads it on the bus and marks it complete.

Tuesday, 9:40 p.m. The evening check-in asks about the wind-down routine. Sam ticks three of four habits (screens away, lights low, no late caffeine) and leaves "set bedtime" unticked, adding a note about a late handover.

Wednesday, 3:15 a.m. Awake again. Sam sends you a direct message. In the morning you reply with a reminder from week one's lesson on getting up after twenty minutes awake.

Thursday. In the cohort group, created automatically when Sam enrolled, another participant shares a blackout-blind tip. Sam replies and picks up an idea.

Friday. Sam books next week's call from the booking page; the calendar syncs both ways and a Zoom link is created automatically. A reminder email follows, and an SMS arrives 24 hours before once you have enabled messaging.

Sunday evening. The weekly reflection asks what helped and what got in the way. On your side, Sam's record shows check-ins, habit completion and the Tuesday note, and Michelle drafts a short briefing for Monday's session.

For a sleep plan built for senior professionals, our sleep coaching protocol for executives and the companion piece on executive sleep coaching habits give program content you could load into the same structure.

What does each example stack cost per month?

A single platform usually costs less than an app plus the tools needed to fill its gaps. These three example stacks use list prices as listed in October 2026 for a solo sleep coach with about 10 active clients; your numbers will differ.

Example stackWhat it coversMonthly cost (example)
Coachful on its ownClient app, check-ins, habits, courses, community, booking, payments, agreements, website, funnels, emailSolo: $49/month for up to 20 clients
Everfit Pro (10 clients) + Circle Professional (annual)Client habits and messaging, plus a community and courses; still no website, funnels or email, and Circle takes 2% of payments$29 + $89 = $118, before any add-ons
Practice Better Plus + Mighty Networks LaunchBranded portal, programs, booking and billing, plus a community app; still no website or funnels, and Mighty takes 2% of sales$99 + $95 = $194, before a website builder

The hidden cost in the second and third stacks is time: two logins for the client, two places to look for messages, and data you reconcile by hand. That is the main reason one-login delivery is a ranking criterion here. For a wider view of all-in-one tools, see our guide to client check-in apps for coaches.

Where does sleep coaching end and medical care begin?

Sleep coaching supports habits, routines and behaviour change; it is not diagnosis or treatment. Whatever app you choose, build the referral line into your intake and your check-ins.

Refer clients to a doctor when they report loud snoring with pauses in breathing, gasping awake, or heavy daytime sleepiness, which can be signs of sleep apnea (NHLBI: Sleep Apnea). Refer as well for long-running insomnia that does not respond to habit change, suspected restless legs, symptoms tied to medication, or low mood and anxiety that go beyond normal stress. A simple intake question ("Has a doctor ever told you that you have a sleep disorder?") and a standing line in your agreement make this clear from the start. Because Coachful is not a clinical record system, keep any medical information you receive to what coaching needs, and point clients to their clinician for the rest.

Which mistakes do sleep coaches make when choosing an app?

The most common mistake is choosing for the coach's desk instead of the client's bedside. A few others come up often:

  • Picking a browser-only tool. If logging a night takes a bookmark, a login and a slow page, the morning diary stops by week two.
  • Assuming wearable data will flow in. Many coaching platforms, Coachful included, do not sync with Oura, Garmin, Fitbit or Whoop. Plan for clients to enter numbers manually, and decide whether you even want device scores in the conversation.
  • Splitting the client across two apps. A habit app plus a community app sounds cheap until clients forget which one has this week's lesson.
  • Overloading check-ins. Five questions in the morning is plenty. Long diaries get skipped, and the skipped nights are the ones you most need to see.
  • Ignoring the platform fee. Community tools such as Mighty Networks and Circle take 0.5% to 2% of sales on top of Stripe; check this before pricing a group program.
  • Skipping the scope line. Every app needs a referral question in intake, regardless of features.

If you are still deciding whether you want an app with your own listing, read how to create a coaching app without hiring developers before paying for a custom build.

So which app should a sleep coach pick?

Choose Coachful if you run sleep programs where clients check in morning and evening, follow weekly lessons and message you between sessions, and you want booking, payments, agreements and your website behind the same login. It is the only app in this list that covers all of those, and the free white-glove build means your first sleep program can be set up for you.

Choose Everfit or ABC Trainerize if sleep is a supporting habit inside a fitness practice. Choose Practice Better if you need charting and telehealth. Choose CoachAccountable only if your clients are fine in a mobile browser. Choose Mighty Networks or Circle if a large community is the product and private daily check-ins are not.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best app for sleep coaches in 2026?

For most sleep coaches, Coachful's client app is the best fit, because it combines morning and evening check-ins, habit streaks, lessons, messaging and community in one iPhone and Android app. Booking, payments and client records sit behind the same login. Fitness-led coaches may prefer Everfit or ABC Trainerize.

Does Coachful sync with Oura, Fitbit or Apple Health?

No. Coachful does not sync with Oura, Garmin, Fitbit or Whoop, and Apple Health sync is not publicly available. Clients can enter sleep times and ratings in their morning check-in instead.

Will my clients see my brand or Coachful's?

Clients download the Coachful app from the App Store or Google Play and see your branding, programs and community inside it. You do not get a separate App Store listing under your own name.

Can I run a sleep diary inside a coaching app?

Yes, in any app with configurable check-ins. In Coachful, the morning check-in can ask for bedtime, wake time, wake-ups and a rested rating, and answers land on the client's record. Community-only tools such as Mighty Networks and Circle have no per-client check-ins.

What is Coachful's free white-glove build service?

It is a free service on every plan: you describe what you want built, such as a sleep program, course outline, intake form or website, and attach up to 8 links and 10 files. The Coachful team builds it inside your account, usually within about 24 hours. It does not include recording videos, logo design or ad management.

Is Coachful HIPAA compliant for sleep coaching?

No. Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and does not sign a BAA. It is built for coaching, not clinical record-keeping or insurance billing, so practitioners who need clinical records should use a dedicated system for that part.

Which sleep coaching tools have no native mobile app?

According to their profiles (September 2026), CoachAccountable, Paperbell and Satori have no native mobile app, so clients use a mobile browser. That makes daily sleep logging less convenient.

How much does a sleep coaching app cost per month?

As listed in October 2026, Everfit and ABC Trainerize start free for very small rosters, Practice Better Starter is $35 per month, and community platforms start around $89 to $95 per month before platform fees. For Coachful, current plans are here: (Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients).

When should a sleep coach refer a client to a doctor?

Refer when a client reports loud snoring with breathing pauses, gasping awake, heavy daytime sleepiness, long-running insomnia that habits do not touch, or mood symptoms beyond everyday stress. Coaching supports routines; diagnosis and treatment belong with a clinician.

Can I run group sleep programs and one-to-one clients in the same app?

In Coachful, yes: group program enrollments create a cohort group automatically, while each client keeps private check-ins, habits and messages with you. Community platforms handle the group side well but lack private client plans.
