Top 7 Course Platforms for Life Coaches in 2026

Top 7 Course Platforms for Life Coaches in 2026

The best course platforms for life coaches do two jobs: they deliver the lessons, and they keep the client doing the work those lessons ask for between sessions. Most course tools were built for the first job only. So the deciding question is not which platform has the prettiest course player. It is where your client will practise the new habit, answer the weekly reflection and book the next call, and whether you will see any of it.

Our pick is Coachful, because it puts courses, 1:1 programs with habits and check-ins, booking, payments, agreements and a community behind one login for you and one branded app for your client. We make Coachful, so we state our ranking criteria in one line and show where each other platform is the better choice. If you mainly sell recorded courses to a large audience with little coaching attached, Kajabi or Thinkific may suit you better, and we say so in their sections.

Below: what life coaches actually need from a course platform, a ranked table, a section per tool with prices as listed in October 2026, a feature matrix, monthly cost at 5, 15 and 40 clients, and a step-by-step setup example. For the wider category, see our parent guide to the best course creation platforms for coaches.

What do life coaches need from a course platform?

Life coaches need a course platform that turns teaching into behaviour change, because a life coaching course is usually a values, confidence, purpose or transition framework that only works when the client applies it week by week. That shapes five requirements most generic course tools miss.

  • Courses that feed coaching, not replace it. A typical life coach sells a mini course or signature course as a step into 1:1 or group coaching (we compare the two formats in mini course or signature course). The platform has to sell the course and the coaching package, and move a course buyer into a coaching client without a second account.
  • Between-session practice. Lesson three of a values course might ask the client to notice one decision a day that matches a core value. That needs a daily task, a habit tracker or an evening check-in, not just a "mark complete" button. Course platforms track lesson completion; very few track whether the client did the exercise.
  • Reflective content formats. Life coaching material is worksheets, journaling prompts, short videos, audio meditations, vision boards and wheel-of-life style assessments. Downloads and forms matter as much as video hosting.
  • Cohorts and community. Many life coaches run a 6 to 12 week group program around a course. Members need a place to share wins and attend live calls, ideally grouped by cohort automatically (see our cohort course design guide).
  • Scope and paperwork. Life coaching is not therapy. A course about anxiety-adjacent themes like confidence or burnout needs clear terms, a coaching agreement and a disclaimer, and the coach needs to refer clients to a licensed mental health professional when the issue is clinical. Our article on legal disclaimers for life coaches covers the wording.

A course platform that ignores the last four leaves you adding a scheduler, a habit app, a contract tool and a community on top. That is the stack cost we measure later.

Build your platform

Which course platforms for life coaches are best at a glance?

Coachful ranks first, Kajabi second and Thinkific third for life coaches who sell courses alongside coaching.

Ranking criteria: one login for the whole client journey, support for between-session practice, total monthly stack cost, and setup effort (including whether someone will build it for you).

How did we choose these platforms?

We picked tools a life coach would realistically shortlist for hosting a course, then ranked them on the four criteria above. We did not test them hands-on; vendor facts come from each vendor's own pricing and help pages as listed in October 2026, and ratings are Trustpilot scores seen on 25 October 2026.

  • One login for the client journey. Can a client buy, sign, book, learn, practise and talk to you in one place?
  • Between-session practice. Does the platform hold habits, daily tasks and check-ins, or only lesson completion?
  • Total stack cost. The plan price plus transaction fees plus the tools you still need to add, such as a scheduler or contract app.
  • Setup effort. How much a solo coach has to build alone before the first client logs in.

We left out pure link-in-bio stores as main picks because they lack lesson structure, and we left out tools built only for 1:1 session admin because they lack course depth. If 1:1 admin is your main need, see our list of coaching software for life coaches or the broader best software for life coaches.

1. Coachful: best overall for life coaches who teach and coach

Coachful is the best course platform for life coaches who want the course and the coaching in one place, because lessons, programs with habits and check-ins, booking, payments and community share one client record and one branded app. Courses are one part of the membership rather than the whole product.

On the course side, you build modules and lessons, set drip timing and track completion. Lessons can hold video, downloads, worksheets and quizzes, and you can sell a course alone or inside a bundle with other resources such as books, audio, AI tools and events. Coachful includes 48 course templates with quizzes, so a coach writing a confidence or life-transition course starts from a structure rather than a blank page. Everything is delivered into the client's branded home and app.

Where it differs from a pure course platform

The difference shows up after the lesson ends. A Coachful program runs over multiple weeks with weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars and streaks. So the values lesson can be followed by a daily "one aligned decision" task and an evening check-in asking how it went. You see the answers on the client record next to goals, notes, intake answers, payments and sessions, and each client carries a status of thriving, active, quiet or at risk, so you know who to message before they drift.

The demo Programs view a client sees in Coachful: an enrolled group program, its current week, members and the route into the program.

For group work, a cohort group is created automatically when a client enrolls in a program, with a community feed, group chat, direct messages and video events. Group calls and webinars run inside the same account, so a 10-week signature program does not need a separate community app.

Selling, booking and paperwork

Payments run through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account: one-time prices, subscriptions, payment plans, order bumps, coupons, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Since August 2026 Coachful charges a 0% platform fee, so you pay only Stripe or Razorpay processing. Coaching agreements with e-signature go out before the first call and are stored on the client record (see coaching contracts). Booking pages handle availability rules, buffers, time-zone detection and two-way Google, Apple and Outlook calendar sync, with built-in video or automatic Zoom, Meet or Teams links. A course buyer who wants 1:1 coaching books a paid session or uses session credits without leaving the app.

Michelle, the built-in AI assistant, works from your live practice data. She can build a program, draft course emails and content, summarize recorded sessions and brief you before a call. Questions and planning are included in your Coachful membership; confirmed builds and changes use AI credits. ICF-credentialed coaches also get hour tracking against ACC, PCC and MCC thresholds.

Here is a short walkthrough of how programs are built and delivered in Coachful:

Price and limits

Coachful uses flat monthly plans. Lower plans cap the number of clients, Pro is unlimited and team plans add coach seats (current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients). Monthly plans cancel in one click, and there is a free trial.

What it does not do: Coachful is not a course marketplace, so it will not bring you buyers the way a directory might. It has no PayPal and no permanent free plan. The client app ships under the Coachful listing with your branding, not under your own App Store account. It is not HIPAA-certified and not for clinical record-keeping. The affiliate program tracks links, clicks, conversions and revenue, but payouts are recorded manually rather than sent by Coachful.

Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. On every plan, you can open Create, choose "We'll build it for you", describe what you want and attach up to 8 reference links and 10 files, such as your logo, brand guide or existing course documents. The Coachful team then builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours. For a course, that means the outline and written material; recording your videos is not included. The same service builds websites, sales pages, funnels, programs, email sequences and lead quizzes. Nothing is invented: no fake credentials, testimonials or prices, and gaps are left for you to fill. One somatic coach leaving Kajabi had their homepage and About page rebuilt with the contact form connected; a menopause and midlife health coach starting from nothing got a five-page site with every button leading to a free consultation. Details are in our white-glove service article.

In short: Coachful is a coaching platform with courses built in. It suits life coaches who deliver programs, not just sessions, and coaches replacing four to six tools. It does not suit someone who wants a course marketplace or PayPal checkout. To start, take the free trial and request a white-glove build of your first course outline. Trustpilot shows 4.5 from 21 reviews. More on the Coachful for life coaches page and the online course platform page.

2. Kajabi: best for building a large course and community audience

Kajabi is a strong choice for life coaches whose business is mainly courses, community and email to a growing audience, with coaching as an add-on product. It combines a course builder, community, website, funnels and email marketing in one subscription.

Kajabi homepage promoting its course, community and website platform for creators
Kajabi's homepage in October 2026.

What it does for life coaches. A coach can host a signature course, run a paid community around it and send email sequences that push course buyers toward a higher-priced program. Websites and funnels are included, so a lead magnet such as a "values clarity" workbook can feed straight into a sales page. Kajabi's model treats coaching as products and communities rather than per-client plans.

Price as listed in October 2026. Basic $179/mo ($143/mo annual) with 5 products, 2,500 contacts, 1 community, 1 website and 0 AI credits. Growth $249/mo ($199/mo annual) with 50 products, 25,000 contacts and 500 AI credits. Pro $499/mo ($399/mo annual) with unlimited products and 100,000 contacts. Kajabi Payments in the US charges 2.9% + $0.30 on Basic, falling to 2.7% + $0.30 on Pro. Using another processor (other than PayPal) adds a Kajabi fee of 2% on Basic, 1% on Growth and 0.5% on Pro. The standard trial is 14 days; a card is optional, but if you enter one, Kajabi places an authorization hold and charges when the trial ends. Our Kajabi pricing breakdown goes deeper.

Limits for life coaches. There is no habit tracking or daily client check-in, so between-session practice lives in emails or a separate app. Five products on Basic fills up fast if you sell a mini course, a signature course, a membership and two coaching packages. Some features, including bulk contact import, test emails and some automations, stay locked during the trial. Trustpilot shows 3.4 from 2,347 reviews.

Pick it over Coachful if your revenue comes mostly from course and community sales to thousands of contacts, you rarely coach 1:1, and you are comfortable paying more per month for marketing depth.

3. Thinkific: best when the course library is the main product

Thinkific suits life coaches whose main offer is a library of courses, because it is a dedicated course platform with communities, memberships and webinar products, and a long trial to build in.

Thinkific homepage introducing its online course and community platform
Thinkific's homepage in October 2026.

What it does for life coaches. A coach with several courses, for example a confidence course, a career-change course and a relationships course, can host them all with up to 10,000 current students on the entry plan. Communities with spaces and live community events give a place for cohort discussion. Group size on Start is capped at 50, which is enough for most life coaching cohorts.

Price as listed in October 2026. Start $109/mo ($82/mo annual) with 2 admins, 1 community with 10 spaces and 5 live community events. Grow $219/mo ($164/mo annual) with 6 admins and 3 communities. Expand $499/mo ($374/mo annual). Plus is custom. Prices rose about 10% on 13 August 2026 (Start went from $99 to $109). There is a 30-day free trial on every self-serve plan. Thinkific charges 0% transaction fees when you use Thinkific Payments, at a processing rate it describes as in line with other processors at 2.9%; third-party Stripe or PayPal gateways carry an extra per-plan fee not listed on the page.

Limits for life coaches. There is no built-in 1:1 scheduling; coaching calls rely on external booking links. No habits, daily check-ins or per-client plans. A branded mobile app is a $199/mo add-on. Trustpilot shows 1.8 from 868 reviews, the lowest on this list.

Pick it over Coachful if you run several stand-alone courses for thousands of students, coaching is a small part of your income and you want a 30-day trial to build the full library before paying.

4. Teachable: best for a first paid course on a small budget

Teachable is a sensible first step for a life coach testing one course, because its Starter plan is cheap and includes student mobile apps, though it takes a 7.5% cut of sales.

Teachable homepage presenting its course and digital product platform
Teachable's homepage in October 2026.

What it does for life coaches. You can publish a course and a few digital products, such as a journaling workbook, and students learn on the web or in Teachable's student apps. Video storage up to 1TB covers most coaching courses. For a coach validating a mini course before investing in a full platform, the low entry price limits risk.

Price as listed in October 2026. Starter $39/mo ($29/mo annual) with 5 products and 1 admin, plus a 7.5% platform fee. Builder $89/mo ($69/mo annual) with 10 products and 0% platform fee. Growth $189/mo ($139/mo annual) with 50 products and 5 admins. Teachable Payments processing for US cards is 2.9% + 30¢ (international 3.9% + 30¢), with a $15 chargeback fee. Plan cards show a 7-day free trial plus a 30-day guarantee.

Limits for life coaches. No native scheduling or calendar sync, so coaching calls go through a separate booking tool and video app. No habits, check-ins or per-client plans. The 7.5% fee adds up: as an example, 15 sales of a $300 course bring $4,500, of which $337.50 goes to the Starter fee before processing. Trustpilot shows 3.3 from 1,110 reviews.

Pick it over Coachful if you only want to test whether one course sells, you have no coaching clients yet, and a low monthly price matters more than keeping every sale.

5. Podia: best simple storefront for a course and a few paid calls

Podia fits life coaches who want a plain, friendly storefront for a course, downloads, a webinar and coaching sessions, without learning a complex system.

Podia homepage showing its storefront for courses, downloads and coaching
Podia's homepage in October 2026.

What it does for life coaches. One storefront can sell a course, a printable values workbook, a recorded workshop and a coaching session, with community spaces for discussion. The 14-day trial gives full access with no credit card or plan selection required, which makes it easy to try.

Price as listed in October 2026. Mover $49/mo ($42/mo annual) with 50 products and 100 email subscribers included, plus a 5% Podia fee. Shaker $99/mo ($84/mo annual) with 150 products, 500 email subscribers and 0% fee. Earthquaker $179/mo ($150/mo annual) with unlimited products and 1,000 email subscribers. Stripe or PayPal processing (2.9% + 30¢ standard) applies on top.

Limits for life coaches. Email subscriber allowances are small, so a coach growing a list through a free quiz or guide will outgrow 100 or 500 quickly. Podia has no mobile app and no native video calls, according to our older profile. There are no habits, check-ins or per-client plans. Trustpilot shows 4.1 from 153 reviews.

Pick it over Coachful if you sell mostly one-off digital products and occasional calls, you do not run multi-week programs, and simplicity matters more than client follow-through.

6. LearnWorlds: best for interactive, quiz-heavy courses

LearnWorlds suits life coaches who want an interactive learning experience, because it is a course and LMS platform with interactive video, assessments, SCORM and a built-in website and funnel builder.

LearnWorlds pricing page with plan cards shown in euros
LearnWorlds's pricing page in October 2026 (this capture shows euro prices).

What it does for life coaches. A coach building a self-assessment heavy course, for example a strengths or life-balance audit with scored quizzes between videos, gets more learning tools here than on most platforms. Pro Trainer adds page funnels and mass email, and Learning Center adds client groups, which can work for coaches selling into small organisations.

Price as listed in October 2026. Starter $29/mo ($24/mo annual) with 1 admin, 1,000 active learners a month and 300 AI credits, plus $5 per paid enrollment. Pro Trainer $99/mo ($79/mo annual) with 5 admins, 2,000 active learners a month, 15 page funnels and 2,000 mass emails a month, with no LearnWorlds fee. Learning Center $299/mo ($249/mo annual). Stripe or PayPal gateway fees of 2.9% + $0.30 apply. The 30-day free trial needs no credit card, but the school is scheduled for deletion if you do not upgrade.

Limits for life coaches. LearnWorlds is not built for 1:1 client management, habits or check-ins. Active-learner caps apply per month on self-serve plans, and a branded mobile app is a separately priced add-on. Trustpilot shows 4.8 from 423 reviews.

Pick it over Coachful if the course itself is the product, you want SCORM or interactive video, and your coaching runs separately.

7. Systeme.io: best for testing a course idea at near-zero cost

Systeme.io is the cheapest way for a new life coach to put a course, a funnel and an email list online, because its free plan never expires and every plan charges 0% transaction fees.

Systeme.io homepage advertising its all-in-one funnel, email and course platform
Systeme.io's homepage in October 2026.

What it does for life coaches. On the free plan you get 2,000 contacts, 3 funnels, 1 course with up to 500 students, a blog, an affiliate program and a custom domain. That is enough to run a free five-day "reset your week" mini course that collects emails and pitches a discovery call.

Price as listed in October 2026. Free $0/mo. Startup $17/mo with 5,000 contacts, 10 funnels and 5 courses. Webinar $47/mo with 10,000 contacts and 20 courses. Unlimited $97/mo. No credit card is required to sign up, and only Stripe or PayPal processing applies.

Limits for life coaches. There is no native 1:1 scheduling with client records, habits or check-ins, and course and community features are basic, according to our older profile. No branded mobile app. The free plan allows one automation rule and one email campaign, which limits follow-up. Trustpilot shows 4.9 from 8,696 reviews.

Pick it over Coachful if you have no budget yet, you want to test demand for a course with a no-cost funnel, and you accept stitching coaching delivery together elsewhere.

How do the features compare?

Coachful is the only platform here with habits, check-ins and native 1:1 booking alongside courses; the others focus on lessons, marketing or both.

What does each platform cost at 5, 15 and 40 clients?

For a life coach with 5 to 40 coaching clients, the course platform price is only part of the bill, because every tool except Coachful still needs a scheduler, contract app or habit tracker added. The table shows the plan you would most likely need; "clients" means paying coaching clients, with course students on top.

Monthly list prices as listed in October 2026, before payment processing. The plan choices are our examples: we moved to the no-fee tier once the fee would likely exceed the price difference. As a worked example, 15 sales of a $300 course cost $337.50 in Teachable Starter fees, $225 in Podia Mover fees or $75 in LearnWorlds Starter enrollment fees, which is why the 15-client column steps up a plan. Add the scheduler, e-signature and habit apps from the last column to compare like for like; our guides to scheduling software for life coaches and payment platforms for coaches list those costs.

How does a life coach set up a course in Coachful, step by step?

A life coach can go from an idea to a selling course with coaching attached in eight steps, and hand the first one to the white-glove team. Here is an example: a six-week "Live by Your Values" course that leads into 1:1 coaching.

  1. Request the build. Open Create and choose "We'll build it for you". Describe the six-week course, attach your existing worksheet PDFs and logo, and ask for the course outline, lesson text and a sales page. The team works inside your account; you record the videos.
  2. Shape the course. In the course builder, set six modules (values discovery, values ranking, daily alignment, boundaries, decisions, next chapter). Add a short video, a worksheet download and a quiz to each, and set drip timing so one module opens per week. If you prefer to start yourself, pick one of the 48 course templates.
  3. Wrap it in a program. Create a six-week program that includes the course and adds a weekly goal per module, a daily task ("note one decision that matched a top value"), a habit to track and an evening check-in with two questions.
  4. Set the offer and price. Create an offer with a one-time price and a payment plan through your Stripe account, plus an order bump for a 45-minute 1:1 session. Decide the price from your own numbers: what a client would pay for the result, how many hours of support you include and what similar coaches in your market charge.
  5. Add the agreement and booking. Attach your coaching agreement with e-signature so it is signed before the first call, and set up a booking page with buffers and minimum notice for the included session.
  6. Open the cohort. When the first client enrolls, a cohort group is created automatically. Post a welcome and schedule a weekly group call as a video event.
  7. Follow through. Ask Michelle to draft the weekly emails and to brief you before each 1:1 call. Each week, check client statuses; anyone marked quiet or at risk gets a personal message.
  8. Offer the next step. In week five, invite clients who are thriving to a 1:1 or group coaching package from the same app, with no new login.

What mistakes should life coaches avoid when choosing a course platform?

The most common mistake is choosing a platform for the course and forgetting the coaching around it. Others follow from that.

  • Judging by the course player alone. A beautiful lesson page does not help if clients stop doing the exercises in week two. Ask where the daily practice and reflection will happen.
  • Ignoring percentage fees. A 5% or 7.5% fee looks small at launch and large after your first cohort. Work out the fee on a realistic launch before you pick the cheaper plan.
  • Underestimating product caps. A mini course, a signature course, a membership and two coaching packages is already five products. Check caps against your full offer ladder, not just the first course.
  • Building a five-tool stack. Course platform, scheduler, contract app, habit app and community app means five logins for the client and five bills for you. Count them before you commit.
  • Skipping scope language. Courses on confidence, burnout or relationships can attract people who need therapy. State that coaching is not treatment, add a disclaimer and a referral line to a licensed mental health professional, and keep clinical detail out of your notes. The line between coaching and therapy is discussed in Wikipedia's life coaching article.
  • Waiting for perfect videos. Many life coaching courses work with short talking-head clips and strong worksheets. Launch, then improve. Our list of mistakes new life coaches make covers more of this.

Which course platform should a life coach pick?

Pick Coachful if your course leads into coaching, because it is the only platform here that carries the client from lesson to daily practice to booked session in one app, with a 0% platform fee and a free white-glove build to get you started. Pick Kajabi if you are building a large course and email audience and coach rarely. Pick Thinkific for a big multi-course library, Teachable or Systeme.io to test a first course cheaply, Podia for a simple storefront and LearnWorlds for interactive, quiz-heavy learning. If you also want a membership, compare our membership platforms for coaches.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best course platform for life coaches?

For life coaches who sell a course alongside 1:1 or group coaching, Coachful is our pick because courses, habits, check-ins, booking, payments and community share one login. For a course-only business with a big audience, Kajabi or Thinkific are the stronger alternatives.

Can I sell coaching sessions on a course platform?

Some course platforms let you sell a coaching product, but most do not book the session natively. Thinkific and Teachable rely on external booking links, and Podia sells sessions without native video calls. Coachful has booking pages with calendar sync and built-in video.

Do I need a course platform if I only coach 1:1?

Not at first. Many life coaches add a course later as a lower-priced entry offer or as homework between sessions. Choosing a coaching platform with courses included avoids migrating when that day comes.

Which course platform has no transaction fees?

Systeme.io charges 0% on all plans, Coachful charges a 0% platform fee since August 2026, and Kajabi, Thinkific, Teachable Builder, Podia Shaker and LearnWorlds Pro Trainer charge no platform fee under the conditions listed in their sections. Payment processing still applies everywhere.

What is Coachful's free white-glove service?

On every plan, you can ask the Coachful team to build a course outline and written material, a website, a funnel, a program or an email sequence inside your account, usually within about 24 hours. You attach up to 8 links and 10 files. It does not include recording videos, logo design or ad management.

Can my clients use a mobile app?

Coachful clients use your branding inside the Coachful app. Teachable offers student mobile apps, Thinkific and LearnWorlds sell branded apps as add-ons, and Podia and Systeme.io have no branded mobile app according to our older profiles.

Is Coachful HIPAA-compliant?

No. Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and does not sign a BAA, so it is not for clinical record-keeping or insurance billing. Life coaching is not treatment, so most life coaches do not need it, but refer clients with clinical needs to a licensed professional.

How long should a life coaching course be?

Long enough to produce one clear change. A mini course of three to five short lessons works as an entry offer, while a signature course often runs six to twelve weeks with practice between modules. Our guide on online course creation for coaches walks through the planning.

Can I move my course from Kajabi or Teachable to Coachful?
