Coaching Website Cost: What You'll Really Pay in 2026

Coaching Website Cost: What You'll Really Pay in 2026

Coaching website cost depends less on the website than on everything attached to it. The page builder is usually the smallest line; the bigger costs are the tools behind the pages (booking, payments, email, client delivery), the design and copy work, and your own hours keeping it all connected. So "how much does a coaching website cost?" really means: which of four routes are you taking, and what does each one make you pay for over three years?

This guide breaks the cost into its parts, compares a DIY website builder, a freelance designer, an agency and a coaching platform with the website built in, and gives you a worksheet to price your own. We have kept other companies' prices out unless they come from our verified records, because designer and agency fees vary too much by country, scope and experience to quote honestly. And one route has a line that costs nothing: on Coachful, the website is included in your membership and the team builds it for you free.

What a coaching website cost is made of

Whatever route you choose, the bill is built from the same nine lines. Some are paid once, some every month, and one is paid in evenings.

Cost lineHow it is usually chargedWhat drives it up
DomainA yearly renewal at a domain registrarPremium names; letting it lapse and buying it back
Website platform and hostingA monthly or yearly subscriptionCommerce or membership features on higher tiers
Template or themeIncluded, or a one-time purchasePremium themes and the customisation they need
BookingA separate scheduler subscription, unless built inPaid sessions, reminders by text, several coaches
PaymentsProcessing fees per sale, sometimes plus a platform feePayment plans and subscriptions handled by another tool
Email and lead captureA subscription that usually grows with your listList size, automations, landing pages
Design and buildYour time, or a project feeCustom design, number of pages, rounds of changes
Words and photosYour time, or a copywriter and photographerStarting from nothing; several audiences
UpkeepYour time, or a retainer or hourly changesPlugins to update, broken integrations, rebuilds

Notice that only two of the nine lines are "the website" in the narrow sense. The rest is what makes a coaching website do its job: book the call, take the payment, start the relationship.

Route 1: A DIY website builder

General website builders such as Squarespace, Wix and Showit let you design a site from a template yourself, and WordPress gives you the biggest ceiling if you are comfortable managing it. Many have free plans or trials to start, with paid plans for your own domain and selling.

What you pay for: the builder subscription and the domain, plus a separate scheduler, a payment setup and an email tool for anything the builder does not do for coaches. On WordPress, add hosting, premium plugins and the time to update them.

Thinking of launching your coaching business?

Answer a few questions and Coachful builds it around you: your website, programs, booking and payments. Ready in minutes.

Build your platform

The cost people miss: your hours. A first site usually takes several evenings or weekends, and each tool you connect is another account, another monthly bill and another place a booking confirmation can look different from your brand.

Best for: coaches who enjoy design, want full creative control, or run a content-heavy site where the blog is the business.

Route 2: A freelance web designer

A designer builds the site for you, usually on one of the builders above. You are paying for taste, structure and time saved, and a good one is worth it when the design itself is part of what you sell.

What you pay for: a project fee, the platform and tools underneath it (still your subscriptions), and often an hourly rate or retainer for changes after handover. Copywriting, photography, logo and brand work are frequently separate quotes.

The cost people miss: edits. If only the designer can change the site comfortably, every new offer, price or testimonial becomes an email and an invoice. Ask before signing: who can edit which parts, on which platform, and what is included after launch.

Best for: coaches with a clear brand, a launch date and a budget, who want a bespoke look and are happy to keep a designer on call.

Route 3: An agency

An agency brings a team: strategy, brand identity, copy, design, development and sometimes ongoing marketing. It is the most expensive route by a distance, and the only one that will design your logo, run your ads or plan your content calendar as part of the package.

What you pay for: a larger project fee, often split into phases, and frequently a monthly retainer for maintenance or marketing. The platform and tool subscriptions still sit underneath.

The cost people miss: fit. Agencies are built for businesses that need many pages and many stakeholders. A solo coach with three offers can end up paying for process they do not need.

Best for: established practices, speakers and authors where the brand is the product, or coaching firms selling to companies.

Route 4: A coaching platform with the website built in

Coaching platforms put the website in the same account as booking, payments and, depending on the platform, email, programs and the client side. The website stops being a separate project, and several of the nine lines above disappear into one subscription.

The range is wide. Paperbell, for example, lists one plan at $97 a month or $970 a year as of October 2026, which includes a simple coaching site generated from your packages alongside booking, contracts and payments; our look at the Paperbell website covers what that site includes and where it stops. At the fuller end, a platform such as Coachful includes a complete website with a blog, funnels, email, programs, community and a client app.

What you pay for: the platform subscription, the domain, and processing fees. On Coachful the platform fee on sales is 0%, and you see the price for your account on Coachful's plans page.

The cost people miss: the limits of the templates. You trade some design freedom for not having to connect anything, so check that the platform's templates suit your niche before you commit.

Best for: coaches who want the site to book, sell and onboard clients without a stack of tools, and who would rather spend their evenings coaching.

None of these is wrong. The mistake is comparing the first row and ignoring the second and third.

Hidden costs that show up in year two

  • Tool creep. The scheduler gets a paid tier for text reminders, the email tool moves up a tier as your list grows, and you add a form tool for intake. Each one is small; together they often outgrow the website itself.
  • Integration breakage. A booking that does not reach your email list, or a payment that does not reach your client notes, costs an hour to find and a client's trust to fix.
  • The rebuild. Sites built around one offer often need rebuilding when you add a group program or a course. Plan for growth now, even if you build small.
  • Lost search history. Moving platforms without keeping page addresses throws away what Google learned about your site. Our guide to moving a coaching website off Kajabi, Wix or Squarespace covers how to keep it.
  • Your hourly rate. If you charge clients by the hour, every evening spent fixing the website has a price. Count it.

What a Coachful website costs you

On Coachful, the website is included in your Coachful membership, along with the parts that usually come from other tools: booking with two-way Google, Apple and Outlook calendar sync, offer pages with checkout, payment plans and subscriptions, a blog, funnels, email sequences and broadcasts, programs, a community and a client app. Payments go to your own Stripe or Razorpay account with a 0% platform fee. The price is personalized, so check the plan shown to you.

You start from one of 30 designed homepage templates, each written for a kind of coach, and Coachful fills it with your business name, real offers, prices, testimonials and booking links as a private draft. You connect your own domain with the A and CNAME records it shows. There is no page limit once your plan is active (up to 10 pages during the trial), and an Import website option brings up to 10 pages of an existing site and its blog posts in as drafts.

What it does not include, to keep the comparison fair: a domain (you buy that from a registrar), logo design, photography, third-party plugins or custom code, and ad management. Coachful's templates are its own designs rather than an open theme marketplace, so a coach who wants something completely bespoke will be happier with a designer.

The line that costs nothing: Coachful builds it for you

Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. On every Coachful plan, the design-and-build line from the worksheet above can be zero. The Coachful team builds your website inside your account, usually within about 24 hours, at no extra cost.

Ask from the Want us to build it for you? card on the Website page (press Fill in a form) or from Create > We'll build it for you · FREE. Tell the team which pages you need, what they should do (book calls, collect leads, sell an offer, deliver a resource), what visitors should do after they land and which sites you like. Add up to 8 links and up to 10 files: logo, photos, copy, brand guide.

A leadership coach whose Squarespace renewal was days away asked for one clean, mobile-friendly homepage with a repeated "talk with me" button, connected visually to their sister company. A menopause and midlife health coach starting with no site, logo or prices got a five-page site in sage and cream with every button leading to a free 20-minute consultation. Nothing is invented: no fake credentials, testimonials or prices, and anything missing is left for you to fill in. The service does not include logo design, recording videos or ongoing marketing. Frequently asked questions

How much does a coaching website cost?

It depends on the route. A DIY builder has the lowest up-front cost but adds separate tools and your time; a freelance designer adds a project fee and often paid changes; an agency costs the most. A coaching platform puts the site, booking and payments in one subscription. Price all three years, not just the launch.

Is it cheaper to build a coaching website myself?

In cash, usually yes. In total, only if your time is cheap and you enjoy it. Count the hours you will spend building and maintaining it at your coaching rate, plus the scheduler, email and payment tools a general builder needs. A platform with a website included often comes out ahead.

What does a web designer charge for a coaching website?

Fees vary widely by country, experience and scope, so get at least two quotes for the same brief. Ask what is included: number of pages, copywriting, photos, rounds of changes, the platform it is built on, and who can edit the site after handover.

What are the ongoing costs of a coaching website?

The domain renewal, the platform subscription, any separate scheduler, email and form tools, payment processing fees, and the time or retainer for changes. On a coaching platform, several of those are one subscription. On Coachful, the website, booking, email and funnels are all included in the membership.

Do I need to pay for a domain separately?

Yes, on almost every platform. Buy it from a domain registrar in your own name and turn on auto-renew. Coachful sites start on a coachful.co address, and you connect your own domain in the website settings with the records Coachful shows.

Is the Coachful website included in the membership?

Yes. Every Coachful plan includes the website with 30 designed templates, a blog, booking, offer pages with checkout, funnels and email. There is no extra charge per page once your plan is active. Coachful is a paid membership with a free trial; the free part is the white-glove build service.

Will Coachful build my coaching website for free?

Yes. The white-glove service is free on every Coachful plan. Fill in the website form, attach your logo, photos and copy, and the team builds the pages in your account, usually within about 24 hours. You can edit everything afterwards with the normal editors.
