The 7 Best Kajabi Alternatives for Career Coaches, Compared

The 7 Best Kajabi Alternatives for Career Coaches, Compared

The best Kajabi alternatives for career coaches are the platforms that handle what a career practice actually sells: a discovery call, a package of resume, LinkedIn and interview sessions, and weeks of job-search accountability between those sessions. Kajabi is built to sell courses, communities and digital products. Most career coaches sell outcomes delivered one client at a time, so the deciding question is simple: which tool books the call, takes the payment, signs the agreement and keeps the client applying, networking and practising until the offer lands?

Our pick is Coachful, because it covers that whole client journey with one login for you and one branded app for your client, including the between-session part Kajabi does not do. We make Coachful, so weigh that, and read the "Pick it over Coachful if..." line at the end of every section: six other tools are compared below, each with real prices as listed in October 2026 and an honest note on where it fits a career practice better.

Kajabi's own facts frame the comparison. As listed in October 2026, its plans run $179, $249 and $499 a month ($143, $199 and $399 billed annually). Basic caps you at 5 products and 2,500 contacts and includes 0 AI credits, and Kajabi's vendor data notes it has no habit tracking or daily client check-ins: coaching lives inside products and communities, not per-client plans. If you want the full breakdown, our Kajabi pricing guide and Kajabi review cover it. This article is about what a career coach should use instead.

What does a career coach's client journey need from software?

A career coaching client moves through four stages, and each one needs a different job done by your software. Kajabi is strongest at the first stage and weakest at the third, which is where career clients most often stall.

Attract: be findable when someone is stuck or laid off

Career clients usually arrive in a moment of pressure: a layoff, a bad review, a promotion that went to someone else, a return to work after a break. They search, they ask on LinkedIn, they click a link in a post. You need a credible website with a clear specialism (tech career changers, mid-career women, new graduates, executives in transition), a lead magnet such as a resume checklist or a "30 days to a new role" email series, and a way to capture the lead and follow up. Kajabi does this part well, and so do several of the tools below.

Enroll: turn a discovery call into a signed, paid package

This is where a career practice differs from a course business. Almost every sale goes through a conversation. You need a booking page with intake questions (current role, target role, timeline, the job posting they are aiming at), calendar sync so the call does not collide with your existing work, a clear offer such as a three-session resume and LinkedIn package or a 12-week career change program, a checkout that handles payment plans, and a coaching agreement that spells out scope. That scope line matters in career work: you are a coach, not a recruiter or placement agency, and you cannot promise a job.

Deliver: sessions plus the work between them

The sessions are the visible part. The results come from what happens between them: applications sent per week, networking messages, informational interviews booked, mock interview practice, a rewritten resume section. A career client who goes quiet for two weeks has usually stopped applying. You need sessions with reminders and video links, a place for documents and worksheets, weekly goals and daily tasks, check-ins, and a view of which clients are drifting. This is the stage Kajabi was not designed for.

Retain: from "I got the job" to the next engagement

A placed client is your best source of referrals and often a future client for a first-90-days or promotion package. You need a light alumni community or group, an email list for follow-up offers, a record of what you did together, and, if you are building an ICF credential, a log of your coaching hours. If you run group cohorts for job seekers, our guides to group coaching platforms for career coaches and community platforms for career coaches go deeper on that stage.

Which Kajabi alternative covers which stage?

The table answers the question in one view. Ranking criteria, in one line: one login for the whole client journey, between-session delivery for job-search accountability, total stack cost, and setup effort (including the free white-glove build).

How did we choose and rank these tools?

We started from the four stages above and asked what a solo or small-team career coach would need to run all of them without five subscriptions. We did not run hands-on tests; every vendor claim comes from the vendor's own pricing page and documentation as listed in October 2026, plus public review scores where noted.

  • One login for the journey. Can a client go from booking a discovery call to finishing a 12-week program without being sent to three other apps?
  • Between-session delivery. Can you set weekly job-search targets, daily tasks and check-ins, and see who has gone quiet?
  • Total stack cost. The plan price plus transaction fees, plus whatever scheduler, e-signature or email tool you must add to fill gaps.
  • Setup effort. How long until a working site, booking page and first package are live, and whether anyone will build it for you.
  • Career-specific fit. Intake questions about target roles, package and session-credit selling, manual invoices for employer-paid outplacement work, and credential tracking for coaches pursuing ICF hours.

We left out Kajabi itself (it is the thing being replaced) and tools that only do email or only do community. If you are weighing a dedicated coaching tool instead, see our Paperbell alternatives for career coaches and the wider coaching software guide for career coaches.

1. Coachful: the full career client journey in one place

A laptop showing a client goal with linked daily tasks and habits next to a tablet showing a monthly session calendar
Coachful's client goal view with daily momentum tasks on a laptop, and its session calendar on a tablet, beside interview prep cards.

Coachful is a coaching platform that puts booking, payments, contracts, program delivery with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant into one subscription. It is built for coaches who deliver programs rather than just sessions, for solo coaches growing into a small team, and for coaches replacing four to six tools. For a career coach, that means the discovery call, the package, the resume work and the weekly job-search accountability all sit in one account.

Enrolling a client. Booking pages carry availability rules, buffers, minimum notice and time-zone detection, which matters when you coach relocating professionals or clients in other countries. Calendars sync two ways with Google, Apple/iCloud and Outlook. Each booking can ask intake questions, so you can collect the target role, current title, timeline and a link to the job posting before the call. Sessions get built-in video or auto-created Zoom, Meet or Teams links, with email reminders plus SMS (24 hours before) and WhatsApp (1 hour before) once messaging is enabled. You can sell paid sessions and session credits, so a "three resume and LinkedIn sessions" package works without workarounds.

Coachful's Intakes page with demo data: total, upcoming and converted intake calls, a conversion rate, and a table of prospects.

The Intakes page tracks discovery calls as a pipeline: how many are upcoming, how many converted, and your conversion rate. Payments run through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account, with one-time payments, subscriptions, payment plans, order bumps, coupons, refunds, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Stripe Tax. Coachful takes a 0% platform fee (since August 2026), so you pay only Stripe or Razorpay processing. Every transaction gets an invoice, and you can raise manual invoices too, which is how you bill an employer for an outplacement engagement. Coaching agreements with e-signature go out before the first call and are stored on the client record, which is the right place for your scope line: coaching, not job placement, and no guaranteed offer.

Delivering between sessions. This is the stage Kajabi does not cover and the one that decides whether a career client gets hired. Coachful runs multi-week programs with weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars and streaks. A 12-week career change program can set "send five tailored applications" as a weekly goal, "one networking message a day" as a habit and a Friday check-in asking how many conversations happened. The client sees it all inside your branded home in the Coachful app.

Coachful client goal page with a Daily momentum section of linked tasks and habits and reflection tabs
A demo client goal in Coachful: the Daily momentum section groups linked tasks and habits, with daily and weekly reflection tabs below.

Each client record holds goals, check-ins, habits, notes, intake answers, tags, payments and sessions, plus an AI briefing, and shows a status of thriving, active, quiet or at risk. When a job seeker stops checking in after a string of rejections, that status changes before they cancel. Courses (modules, lessons, drip, completion tracking), downloads and worksheets live in the same client home, so your resume template, STAR interview worksheet and salary negotiation guide sit next to the program rather than in a separate course site. Coachful includes 48 course templates with quizzes and more than 40 ready-to-film program templates if you want a starting structure.

Retaining and growing. The community feed, group chat, direct messages and video events suit a job-search cohort. Cohort groups are created automatically when clients enroll in a program, and group calls and webinars run inside the platform. Email lists, broadcasts and multi-step sequences with triggers, delays, branching and A/B splits handle the "first 90 days in your new role" follow-up. If you are working toward an ICF credential, Coachful counts coaching hours and distinct clients against ACC, PCC and MCC thresholds and exports an ICF client coaching log with paid and pro bono hours.

The AI side. Michelle, the built-in AI assistant, works from your live practice data. It can build a program, draft emails and content, summarize recorded sessions and brief you before each session, so you walk into a mock interview remembering what the client struggled with last time. It can also give private feedback on your own coaching against ICF Core Competencies 3 to 8. Questions and planning are included in your Coachful membership; confirmed builds and changes use AI credits. Separately, an AI Coach, an AI version of you that selected clients can chat with between sessions, can be configured to answer "how should I frame this gap on my resume?" at 11pm. The video below walks through the intake flow.

Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. On every plan, you can open Create > We'll build it for you and describe what you need: a website, a booking or lead-magnet funnel, a package sales page, a program, a course outline, an email sequence or a form. Attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files (logo, headshot, your current resume service list, copy from your old Kajabi site). The Coachful team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours. Nothing is invented: no fake credentials, testimonials or prices, and gaps are left for you to fill. It does not include recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing. One recent build: a leadership coach with a Squarespace renewal days away got one clean homepage with a repeated "talk with me" button. Another, a coach leaving Kajabi, had the homepage and About page rebuilt and the contact form connected. More detail is in our white-glove service guide.

What it does not do. Coachful has no PayPal, and there is no permanent no-cost plan beyond the trial. It has no multi-stage sales deal board for large teams and no Salesforce or HubSpot integration, which matters if you run a large outplacement firm with a sales team. It has no routing forms that pick a host from form answers. It is not a course marketplace, and your client app ships under the Coachful listing with your branding rather than your own App Store account. The affiliate program tracks links, clicks, conversions and revenue, but payouts are recorded manually.

Price and how to start. Plans are flat monthly; lower plans cap the number of clients, Pro is unlimited, and team plans add coach seats with per-coach availability and staff permissions (current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients). Monthly plans cancel in one click. Start with a free trial, then request the free white-glove build and import your clients, programs and content during onboarding. Our career coach page shows the setup for this niche, and Coachful vs Kajabi compares the two directly.

Pick it over the rest if your practice is sessions plus structured programs, you want job-search accountability between calls, and you would rather run one account than stitch together a site, scheduler, e-signature tool and course platform.

2. Podia: the simplest storefront for resume packs and sessions

Podia homepage introducing its storefront for courses, downloads, webinars and coaching
Podia's homepage in October 2026.

Podia is a simple storefront for courses, downloads, webinars, coaching sessions and community. For a career coach, that maps neatly onto a common offer ladder: a free resume checklist, a paid resume template pack, a recorded "how to pass the screening call" webinar and bookable coaching sessions, all on one clean page.

As listed in October 2026, Podia's plans are Mover at $49 a month ($42 billed annually) with 50 products, 25 community spaces and 100 email subscribers; Shaker at $99 a month ($84 annually) with 150 products, 500 email subscribers and one assistant; and Earthquaker at $179 a month ($150 annually) with unlimited products and 1,000 email subscribers. Mover charges a 5% Podia transaction fee; Shaker and Earthquaker charge 0%, with Stripe or PayPal processing on top. The trial is 14 days with full access and no credit card required. Podia holds a 4.1 Trustpilot score from 153 reviews.

The limits show up quickly once a career practice grows. Email subscriber allowances are small: if your LinkedIn posts bring in 2,000 people for a free job-search checklist, even the top plan's included 1,000 subscribers will not cover them. Podia's documented profile lists no native video calls and no mobile app, so sessions run on an outside video tool. It has no client habits, check-ins or per-client plans, so the weekly "how many applications did you send?" rhythm lives in email or a spreadsheet. There is no e-signature agreement for scope.

Compared with Kajabi, Podia costs much less at entry and feels lighter, which suits a coach whose income comes mostly from digital products with a few calls on the side. It is less suitable for a coach whose income is a 12-week program with weekly accountability. We compare the two in Kajabi vs Podia.

Pick it over Coachful if you mainly sell downloadable resume templates and recorded workshops, take only occasional one-off calls, and want the plainest possible storefront.

3. GoHighLevel: an agency CRM for outplacement firms with several brands

HighLevel homepage presenting its all-in-one marketing CRM for agencies and businesses
GoHighLevel's homepage in October 2026.

HighLevel is an agency-first marketing CRM built around sub-accounts. It includes funnels, websites, calendars, SMS and email, invoicing, contracts, courses and communities. Of every tool here, it is the closest to Coachful on the enroll stage: calendars, contracts and invoices are all native.

Prices, as listed in October 2026: Starter costs $97 a month ($80.83 billed annually) with 3 sub-accounts and unlimited users and contacts; Unlimited costs $297 a month ($247.50 annually) with unlimited sub-accounts; Agency Pro costs $497 a month ($414.17 annually); Enterprise is custom. There is no HighLevel platform fee on sales, but SMS, email, phone numbers and AI are metered and billed separately, with per-unit rates on separate pricing guides rather than the pricing page. The trial is 14 days and billing starts automatically at the end unless you cancel. Trustpilot shows 4.9 from 15,250 reviews.

For a career coach, the sub-account model makes most sense if you run more than one brand, for example a consumer career coaching business plus a white-labelled outplacement service you deliver for HR consultancies. The cost is setup effort. HighLevel has no habit tracking, client check-ins or structured coaching-program engine, so job-search accountability has to be built from workflows and forms. It has no built-in video rooms, only Zoom and Google Meet links. The metered usage also makes the monthly bill harder to predict if you send many SMS reminders. HIPAA is a $297-a-month add-on, which most career coaches will not need.

Pick it over Coachful if you run an agency or outplacement firm managing several client brands, you want heavy SMS marketing and a sales pipeline, and you have someone to build and maintain the workflows.

4. Kartra: a marketing suite with calendars and a helpdesk

Kartra homepage presenting its marketing suite with pages, funnels, email and memberships
Kartra's homepage in October 2026.

Where HighLevel is agency-shaped, Kartra is a single-business marketing suite: pages, funnels, email and SMS, memberships, calendars and a helpdesk in one account. It suits a career coach who markets hard with launches, webinars and email sequences, for example a coach selling a "land a remote job in 60 days" program to a large list.

As listed in October 2026, Essentials costs $59 a month ($52 annually) with 500 contacts, 5 pages, 1 product, 1 membership and a 5% transaction fee. Starter costs $119 a month ($99 annually) with 2,500 contacts, unlimited pages, products and memberships, unlimited email and SMS, and 5 team members, at 0% transaction fee. Growth costs $229 a month ($189 annually) with 12,500 contacts, and Professional costs $549 a month ($429 annually) with 25,000 contacts. There is a 14-day trial and a 30-day money-back guarantee. Kartra's Trustpilot score is 3.2 from 129 reviews.

The Essentials plan is too tight for most career practices: 500 contacts disappears after one popular LinkedIn post offering a free resume audit, and the 5% fee applies to every package you sell. Starter is the realistic entry point. Kartra has no client habits, check-ins or per-client coaching plans, so delivery happens in membership pages rather than a personal plan per client. Its older vendor profile lists no mobile app for students, and notes that funnels and memberships are not portable to other platforms, which matters if you later switch.

Compared with Kajabi, Kartra's Starter plan is cheaper than Kajabi Basic and includes calendars, but it shares the same blind spot on between-session delivery.

Pick it over Coachful if your business runs on large email launches and SMS campaigns, you want a built-in helpdesk for many low-ticket buyers, and one-to-one accountability is a small part of what you sell.

Which one looks like you?

Coachful builds your coaching website from a few answers, in a design chosen for your niche, with programs, booking and payments ready behind it.

5. Thinkific: for course-led career programs with large cohorts

Thinkific homepage presenting its platform for building and selling online courses
Thinkific's homepage in October 2026.

Thinkific is a course platform with communities, memberships and coaching or webinar products. A career coach who has turned their method into a self-paced course, for example "Career Change Blueprint" sold to thousands of students or licensed to a university career centre, will find it a solid home.

As listed in October 2026, Start costs $109 a month ($82 annually) with 10,000 current students, 2 admins, 1 community and 5 live community events; Grow costs $219 a month ($164 annually) with 6 admins and 3 communities; Expand costs $499 a month ($374 annually). Prices rose about 10% on August 13, 2026 (Start went from $99 to $109). There is a 30-day free trial on every self-serve plan. Thinkific charges 0% transaction fee on Thinkific Payments, with processing around 2.9%; third-party Stripe or PayPal gateways carry an extra per-plan gateway fee whose amounts are not listed on the page. Trustpilot shows 1.8 from 868 reviews.

The gaps for one-to-one career work are clear. Thinkific has no built-in 1:1 scheduling; its older profile says coaching relies on external booking links. It has no client habits, daily check-ins or per-client plans. A branded mobile app is a $199-a-month add-on. So a career coach selling a course plus four live coaching calls will need a scheduler, likely an e-signature tool, and a way to follow each client's applications. Our Kajabi vs Thinkific comparison covers how it stacks up against Kajabi on courses.

Pick it over Coachful if your career program is mainly a self-paced course for hundreds or thousands of students, live coaching is an occasional extra, and you value deep course features over client management.

6. Stan Store: the lowest-cost way to sell calls from a LinkedIn link

Stan Store homepage presenting its link-in-bio storefront for creators and coaches
Stan Store's homepage in October 2026.

Many career coaches find clients on LinkedIn, and Stan Store is built for exactly that kind of link-in-bio selling. It is a storefront for digital products, courses, memberships and paid calls, set up in an afternoon.

As listed in October 2026, Creator costs $29 a month ($25 annually) with unlimited products and customers in one store; Creator Pro costs $99 a month ($79 annually). Stan takes a 0% fee, so you pay only Stripe or PayPal processing. There is a 14-day free trial on either plan, with the first month charged when the trial ends. Email marketing, upsells, discount codes and affiliates are only on Creator Pro. Trustpilot shows 4.7 from 2,205 reviews.

For a new career coach testing offers, Stan works well for a "30-minute resume review" call, a cover letter template and a LinkedIn headline guide. The limits come when the practice becomes a business. Stan has no contracts, invoices or client records and is not a CRM, so there is no place to store an agreement or session notes. It has no programs with client tasks, habits or check-ins, and no team seats are advertised. If you later sell a multi-session career change package, you will want somewhere to sign the agreement, schedule eight sessions and track the work in between. Our Stan Store vs Kajabi comparison goes through the trade-offs in more depth.

Pick it over Coachful if you are just starting, sell mostly one-off calls and small templates from a LinkedIn or Instagram link, and want the cheapest monthly bill while you test demand.

7. Teachable: course-first, with student apps and a Starter fee to watch

Teachable homepage presenting its platform for selling courses and digital products
Teachable's homepage in October 2026.

Teachable is a course and digital-product platform with student mobile apps. Its appeal for career coaches is narrow but real: a polished way to sell a recorded interview prep course or a resume-writing workshop to job seekers who prefer to learn at their own pace.

As listed in October 2026, Starter costs $39 a month ($29 annually) with 5 products and a 7.5% platform fee; Builder costs $89 a month ($69 annually) with 10 products at 0% platform fee; Growth costs $189 a month ($139 annually) with 50 products and 5 admins. Teachable Payments processing is 2.9% plus 30 cents for US cards and 3.9% plus 30 cents internationally, with a $15 chargeback fee. The plan cards show a 7-day free trial plus a 30-day guarantee. Teachable's Trustpilot score is 3.3 from 1,110 reviews.

The 7.5% Starter fee is the main trap. On a $1,500 career package (an illustrative figure), that is $112.50 to Teachable on top of processing, so Builder becomes cheaper quickly. Teachable has no native scheduling or calendar sync; its older profile says coaching calls rely on outside booking and video tools. It has no client habits, daily check-ins or per-client plans. For a course-only career offer that is fine; for a coaching practice, you are back to building a stack.

Pick it over Coachful if you sell only recorded courses to job seekers, want student mobile apps from day one, and do not need booking, agreements or per-client accountability.

Two rows decide most career coaching choices: weekly goals and check-ins, and agreements. Only Coachful has both natively; HighLevel gets close on agreements and can imitate accountability with workflows.

What does each option cost at 5, 15 and 40 clients?

Most course platforms price by products or contacts, not by coaching clients, so their cost stays flat as your roster grows. The figures below are each vendor's monthly list price for the cheapest plan that fits a career practice of that size without a percentage fee where one can be avoided, as listed in October 2026. They do not include payment processing, and the course platforms need a separate scheduler and e-signature tool, priced separately.

These are list prices, not quotes. Annual billing lowers most of them, and your real cost depends on contact counts, processing and the gap-filling tools you choose. To set your own package prices, see how much career coaches charge.

Should a career coach buy all-in-one or assemble a stack?

All-in-one wins for most career coaches because the expensive part of a stack is not the subscriptions, it is the hand-offs: the client who books in one tool, pays in another, signs in a third and is sent homework by email. Each hand-off is a place where a nervous job seeker drops out. Here are three recipes with their documented costs.

RecipeWhat it includesListed monthly costGaps
Coachful all-in-oneSite, funnels, email, booking, payments, agreements, programs with check-ins, courses, community, ICF logSolo: $49/month for up to 20 clientsNo PayPal; no Salesforce or HubSpot
Course-led stackThinkific Start plus Kit Creator for email$109 + from $39 = from $148, plus a scheduler and e-signature toolNo per-client accountability
Lean starter stackStan Store Creator Pro for calls and products, Flodesk Lite for design-led email$99 + $25 = $124, plus an e-signature toolNo client records, programs or check-ins
Kajabi as-isKajabi Basic plus outside booking and e-signature$179, plus those toolsNo habits or daily check-ins; 5 products, 2,500 contacts

Kit and Flodesk prices are as listed in October 2026 (Kit Creator starts at $39 for up to 1,000 subscribers and scales; Flodesk Lite is $25 monthly for up to 1,000 subscribers). An assembled stack makes sense if one piece, such as a course with thousands of students, matters far more than the rest. For a sessions-plus-program practice, one login is cheaper in money and in client drop-off.

How does a career coach set this up in Coachful, step by step?

Here is a worked example for a coach who helps mid-career professionals move into a new industry and sells two offers: a three-session "Resume and LinkedIn Reset" and a 12-week "Career Change Program". The names and structure are an example; use your own.

  1. Request the build. Open Create > We'll build it for you, choose Website, and attach your logo, headshot, current service list and any copy you like from your old site. Ask for a homepage, an About page, a Work With Me page and a booking button on every page. The team leaves gaps for testimonials and prices rather than inventing them.
  2. Connect calendars and payments. Sync Google, Apple or Outlook two ways and connect your Stripe Connect or Razorpay account.
  3. Create the discovery call. A free 30-minute session type with a buffer, minimum notice and intake questions: current role, target industry, timeline, the posting you are aiming at, and the biggest obstacle so far.
  4. Set up the Reset package. Sell three session credits as one offer, with a payment plan option. Attach the coaching agreement so it is signed before the first session; state that you coach and do not place candidates or guarantee offers.
  5. Build the 12-week program. Start from a program template or ask Michelle to draft one from your outline. Week 1: values and target roles. Weeks 2 to 3: resume and LinkedIn. Weeks 4 to 8: applications and networking. Weeks 9 to 11: interviews. Week 12: offer and negotiation. Add habits such as "one networking message a day" and a weekly goal such as "five tailored applications".
  6. Add check-ins. A short evening check-in on application days and a Friday weekly check-in asking for applications sent, conversations held and interviews booked.
  7. Load resources. Upload your resume template, STAR answer worksheet and salary negotiation guide as downloads inside the program.
  8. Open the cohort. If you run the program as a group, cohort groups are created automatically on enrollment, and you can schedule weekly group calls.
  9. Write the follow-up sequence. A lead-magnet funnel for a free resume checklist feeds an email sequence that invites readers to book the discovery call, and a separate sequence goes to placed clients 30, 60 and 90 days into their new role.
  10. Watch the client list. Each week, look for clients marked quiet or at risk and reach out before they stall. Log hours automatically if you are working toward an ICF credential.

How do you move off Kajabi without losing clients?

Plan the move around your active clients first, then your marketing. Kajabi's documented exports are CSV files for contacts, subscriptions, sales and members, emailed to you; course content is downloaded manually per asset, and its older profile notes data is removed 90 days after cancellation.

  • Export before you cancel. Download contacts, members and sales CSVs, and every course video, worksheet and PDF. Keep copies outside both platforms.
  • Do not move subscriptions mid-cycle without notice. Tell clients on payment plans when the next charge will come from the new account, and from which business name.
  • Let the onboarding team import. In Coachful, clients, programs and content are imported for you during onboarding, so you are not rebuilding course pages by hand.
  • Redirect your domain last. Keep your Kajabi site live until the new booking page has taken a test booking and a test payment.

Mistakes career coaches make when switching

  • Choosing by course features. If you sell five courses and fifty coaching packages, pick for the packages.
  • Skipping the agreement. A written scope protects you when a client expects a job by a date. Career coaching is not recruiting or legal advice; refer severance, non-compete and discrimination questions to an employment lawyer, and refer clients in serious distress after job loss to a mental health professional.
  • Underestimating percentage fees. A 5% to 7.5% platform fee on a high-ticket career package is often more than the plan price.
  • Leaving accountability in email. Job seekers need a weekly rhythm they can see. If it lives in your inbox, it will be missed.

Which Kajabi alternative should a career coach choose?

For most career coaches, Coachful is the right Kajabi alternative: it covers attract, enroll, deliver and retain in one login, adds the weekly job-search accountability Kajabi lacks, takes no platform fee, and comes with a free white-glove build so your site and first package are ready quickly. Choose Podia or Stan Store if you mainly sell templates and the occasional call, Thinkific or Teachable if your career offer is really a large self-paced course, and GoHighLevel or Kartra if you run a marketing-heavy or multi-brand operation with someone to maintain it. Frequently asked questions

Is Kajabi good for career coaches?

Kajabi is good at selling courses, communities and digital products, and many career coaches use it for resume courses and lead magnets. Its vendor data shows no habit tracking or daily client check-ins, and coaching lives in products rather than per-client plans. For a practice built on sessions and weekly job-search accountability, a coaching platform fits better.

What is the cheapest Kajabi alternative for a new career coach?

Among the tools here, Stan Store's Creator plan at $29 a month, as listed in October 2026, has the lowest entry price with no platform fee. It lacks agreements, client records and programs, so most coaches outgrow it once they sell packages. Teachable's $39 Starter plan carries a 7.5% fee, which makes it expensive on high-ticket packages.

Can I sell session packages instead of single calls?

In Coachful, yes: you can sell session credits, so a three-session resume and LinkedIn package is one offer with one checkout. Podia and Stan Store sell coaching sessions, and HighLevel and Kartra have calendars, but check how each handles multi-session credits before you commit.

How do I keep job-seeking clients accountable between sessions?

Use weekly goals (for example, applications sent), daily habits (networking messages) and a short weekly check-in. Coachful has these natively, with a client status that flags quiet or at-risk clients. Course platforms in this list do not, so you would track it in email or a spreadsheet.

Can I bill an employer for outplacement coaching?

Coachful lets you raise manual invoices as well as the automatic invoice per transaction, which suits an employer-paid engagement. HighLevel also includes invoicing. Course-first platforms such as Thinkific and Teachable are built around student checkout rather than invoices to a third party.

Does Coachful track ICF coaching hours?

Yes. It counts coaching hours and distinct clients against ACC, PCC and MCC thresholds and exports an ICF client coaching log with paid and pro bono hours. That is useful for career coaches building toward a credential while they grow their practice.

What is Coachful's free white-glove service?

It is a build service included on every plan. You describe what you need, such as a website, funnel, package sales page, program or email sequence, attach up to 8 links and 10 files, and the Coachful team builds it in your account, usually within about 24 hours. It does not invent testimonials or prices, and it does not include video recording, logo design or ads.

Does Coachful accept PayPal?

No. Payments run through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account, with Apple Pay and Google Pay supported. If your clients insist on PayPal, Kajabi, Podia, Stan Store and Teachable all document PayPal support.

Will I lose my Kajabi course content when I switch?

Not if you export first. Kajabi provides CSV exports for contacts, members and sales, and course assets are downloaded manually; its older profile notes data is removed 90 days after cancellation. In Coachful, clients, programs and content are imported for you during onboarding.

Is a career coach the same as a recruiter?

No. A recruiter is usually paid by an employer to fill a role; a career coach is paid by the client, or their employer, to help them decide, prepare and search. Put that distinction in your coaching agreement and avoid promising placements or offer dates.
