Top 12 Course Platforms for Nutrition Coaches, Ranked

Top 12 Course Platforms for Nutrition Coaches, Ranked

The best course platforms for nutrition coaches do more than host videos. A nutrition course works when clients change what is on their plate on a Tuesday night, so the platform has to carry lessons, daily habits, check-ins and nutrition targets in one place, and it has to sell the course and the 1:1 upgrade that often follows. The deciding question is simple: do you only want to sell lessons, or do you want to coach people through them?

For coaches who want to coach people through a course, our pick is Coachful. It puts courses, multi-week programs, habits, morning and evening check-ins, booking, payments and a branded client app behind one login, and its Fitness & Nutrition pack adds calorie and macro targets, meal plans, recipes and food lookup. We make Coachful, so weigh that disclosure as you read; the other eleven tools below are ranked on what their vendors document and what public reviewers report, with prices as listed in October 2026. If you only need lessons, Kajabi, LearnWorlds and Thinkific come next.

This article is a niche cut of our wider guide to the best course creation platforms for coaches. If you are still choosing your whole software stack, start with best software for nutrition coaches.

What do nutrition coaches need from a course platform?

Nutrition coaches need a course platform that turns lessons into daily behavior: habits to tick, check-ins to answer, targets to hit and a coach who sees when someone goes quiet. A generic course tool handles the first part and leaves the rest to spreadsheets, WhatsApp and a separate tracking app.

Here is what the typical nutrition course actually contains, and what each part asks of the software:

  • Short teaching lessons. Protein basics, reading labels, building a plate, eating out, handling weekends. These are short videos or written lessons released week by week, so drip scheduling matters more than a huge video library.
  • Practical downloads. Grocery lists, meal templates, recipe packs and portion guides. Clients come back to these in the supermarket, so they need to be easy to find on a phone.
  • Daily habits. "Protein at every meal", "two litres of water", "vegetables at lunch". Without a habit tracker, the lesson stays theory.
  • Check-ins. A short morning or evening question ("How was hunger today, 1 to 5?") and a weekly review with weight, measurements or photos for clients who want them.
  • Targets and meal plans. Many nutrition coaches set calorie or macro ranges and share meal plans or recipes. Most course platforms have nothing for this.
  • A path to 1:1. A low-ticket course often feeds a higher-ticket coaching package. That needs booking, intake questions, a coaching agreement and payments on the same client record.
  • A group space. Cohort courses ("Six weeks to steady energy, starting 3 March") work better with a group feed and a weekly live call.

There is also a scope question that is specific to this niche. Nutrition coaching supports habit change for generally healthy adults; it is not medical nutrition therapy and it is not treatment. Clients with diabetes, kidney disease, a current or past eating disorder, pregnancy, or medications affected by diet should be referred to their physician or a registered dietitian. Who may give individualized nutrition advice also varies by US state, and the Bureau of Labor Statistics overview of dietitians and nutritionists notes that licensing requirements differ from state to state. Read nutrition coaching scope of practice and what state laws allow before you write your course. Your platform choice follows from this: if you are a dietitian billing insurance or a covered entity under HHS rules on HIPAA covered entities, you need a HIPAA-ready tool, and most course platforms (Coachful included) are not that.

Which course platform is best for nutrition coaches at a glance?

How we ranked them: one login for the whole client journey, between-session delivery (habits, check-ins, nutrition targets), total stack cost from 5 to 40 clients, and setup effort, including the free white-glove build Coachful offers.

Thinking of launching your coaching business?

Answer a few questions and Coachful builds it around you: your website, programs, booking and payments. Ready in minutes.

Build your platform

How did we choose these 12 platforms?

We started from the jobs a nutrition coach does each week and checked which tools cover them according to each vendor's own pricing and feature pages, read in October 2026. We did not run hands-on tests; where a vendor's page was unclear, we say so.

Each tool earned its place for a reason specific to this niche. Six are course platforms in the classic sense (Kajabi, LearnWorlds, Thinkific, Teachable, Podia, Systeme.io). Two are marketing-first storefronts that many nutrition coaches use to sell recipe packs and mini courses (Kartra, Stan Store). Two are fitness coaching apps with nutrition features, included because many nutrition coaches really need a tracking app more than a course (Everfit, ABC Trainerize). Practice Better is the practitioner platform many dietitians use. Coachful sits at the top because it is the only one on the list that combines a course builder with habits, check-ins, nutrition targets, booking and payments under one login.

We scored four things: whether the whole client journey (lead, purchase, lessons, daily habits, check-ins, 1:1 calls) lives in one place; how much happens between sessions; the real monthly cost at 5, 15 and 40 clients, including platform fees on sales; and how long it takes to get a course live. Public ratings from Trustpilot, read on 25 October 2026, are mentioned where they add context, not as a score.

1. Coachful: why does it rank first for nutrition coaches?

Coachful ranks first because it is the only platform here where a nutrition course, the daily habits that make it stick, macro targets, check-ins and the 1:1 upgrade all live on one client record. Clients open one branded app; you open one dashboard.

A laptop showing a client goal view with daily tasks and habits beside meal-prep containers on a kitchen counter
Coachful's client goal view, with daily momentum tasks and habits, on a laptop beside meal-prep containers.

What Coachful is. Coachful is a coaching platform. One subscription covers booking, payments, contracts, program delivery with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant. It is built for coaches who deliver programs rather than just sessions, for solo coaches growing into a small team, and for coaches replacing four to six separate tools. The company is based in Tallinn, Estonia, and its Trustpilot rating was 4.5 from 21 reviews in October 2026.

Courses that sit inside a program. The course builder handles modules, lessons, drip release and completion tracking, and you can add downloads (your grocery lists and meal templates), videos, books and AI tools. Content is delivered into the client's branded home and app. There are 48 course templates with quizzes and more than 40 ready-to-film program templates, so a "Protein First" or "Steady Energy" course does not start from a blank page. See the online course platform page for the full builder.

Between-session work, where nutrition coaching happens. A course can be paired with a multi-week program that has weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars and streaks. That is where "protein at every meal" becomes something a client ticks off each day, and where you see the answer to "How was hunger today?" without chasing anyone on WhatsApp.

Nutrition tools. The Fitness & Nutrition pack adds nutrition targets up to calories and macros, meal plans, recipes, food lookup with barcode scanning, private progress photos and measurements, weekly check-ins and challenges. For a coach who also programs training, it includes a workout builder with an illustrated exercise library; you attach your own demo videos, because Coachful does not ship stock exercise videos.

Selling the course and the coaching. Payments run through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account: one-time, subscriptions, payment plans, order bumps, coupons, refunds, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Coachful charges a 0% platform fee on sales (since August 2026), so only Stripe or Razorpay processing applies. Booking pages handle availability, buffers and time zones, with two-way Google, Apple and Outlook calendar sync, and coaching agreements are e-signed before the first call. Intake questions on booking let you screen for conditions that need a referral.

Group courses. When someone enrolls in a program, Coachful creates the cohort group automatically, with a community feed, group chat and video events for your weekly Q&A. See group coaching software for how cohorts work.

This walkthrough shows how programs are built and delivered to clients in Coachful:

Watching who is slipping. Each client record holds goals, check-ins, habits, notes, intake answers, payments and sessions, and shows a status of thriving, active, quiet or at risk. Michelle, the built-in AI assistant, works from that live data: she briefs you before sessions, summarizes recorded sessions, drafts emails and can build a program outline. Questions and planning are included in your Coachful membership; confirmed builds use AI credits.

Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. On every plan, you can open Create, choose "We'll build it for you", and describe what you need: a course outline and written lessons, a program with daily habits, a lead-magnet funnel for a free protein guide, a sales page, an email sequence or a full website. Attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files (logo, photos, existing recipes or handouts). The Coachful team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours. Nothing is invented: no fake credentials, testimonials or prices, and gaps are left for you to fill. It does not cover recording your videos, logo design, ads or ongoing marketing. One recent build: a menopause and midlife health coach starting from nothing got a five-page site in sage and cream where every button led to a free 20-minute consultation. Read more about the free white-glove service.

The Create page in Coachful with the We'll build it for you card that starts a white-glove build request.

What Coachful does not do. It is not HIPAA-certified and does not sign a BAA, so it is not for clinical record-keeping or insurance billing. There is no PayPal and no permanent free plan. It does not sync with Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop or Oura, and Apple Health sync is not publicly available. The client app runs under the Coachful listing with your branding, not under your own App Store account. It is not a course marketplace, so it will not send you students.

How to start. Start a free trial, then request a white-glove build of your first course or program. Monthly plans cancel in one click; lower plans cap client numbers and Pro is unlimited (current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients).

2. Kajabi: is it worth it for a nutrition course business?

Kajabi is worth it when you already have an audience and plan to sell several nutrition products at volume. It is a course, community, website, funnel and email platform for selling knowledge products, built around products and communities rather than per-client plans.

Kajabi homepage promoting its platform for selling courses, communities and coaching
Kajabi's homepage in October 2026.

For a nutrition coach, Kajabi covers the marketing side completely: a website, a funnel for a free "7-day meal prep guide", email follow-up, the course itself and a community for members. Coaching on Kajabi is sold as a product or run through a community rather than as a per-client plan, so there is no habit tracker, no daily check-in and no place to set a client's macro targets. Clients who need that end up in a second app.

Prices as listed in October 2026: Basic is $179/month ($143/month billed annually) with 5 products, 2,500 contacts, 1 community and 0 AI credits. Growth is $249/month ($199 annually) with 50 products, 25,000 contacts and 500 AI credits. Pro is $499/month ($399 annually). The help center describes a 14-day trial. On Kajabi Payments in the US, processing is 2.9% + $0.30 on Basic; if you use another processor, Kajabi adds 2% on Basic, 1% on Growth and 0.5% on Pro on top of that provider's fees.

The limits a nutrition coach hits first: five products on Basic fills quickly once you add a recipe pack, a mini course, a signature course and a membership. The 2,500-contact cap is also tight if your lead magnet takes off. Trustpilot showed 3.4 from 2,347 reviews on 25 October 2026.

Pick it over Coachful if your business is mostly self-paced products sold to thousands of people, you rarely work 1:1, and you are happy to run client tracking in a separate app.

3. LearnWorlds: the strongest pure learning tool here?

Yes, for nutrition education that leans on quizzes and interactive video, LearnWorlds is the most capable learning tool on this list. It is a course and LMS platform with a website builder, funnels, SCORM support and interactive video.

LearnWorlds pricing page listing Starter, Pro Trainer, Learning Center and Corporate plans
LearnWorlds's pricing page in October 2026 (it shows prices in euros).

Nutrition coaches who teach a lot of theory (macronutrients, label reading, blood sugar basics for general wellness) can build lessons where a video pauses for a question, then branch to a recap. That suits a certification-style course for other coaches or a corporate wellness program better than a habit-change course for individuals. Its plans are not built for 1:1 client management, habits or check-ins.

Plans as listed in October 2026: Starter costs $29/month ($24 annually) for 1 admin and 1,000 active learners a month, and charges $5 per paid enrollment. Pro Trainer costs $99/month ($79 annually) with no LearnWorlds fee, 5 admins, 2,000 active learners a month, 15 page funnels and 2,000 mass emails a month. Learning Center is $299/month ($249 annually). The free trial runs 30 days, and LearnWorlds pages say no card is required.

Watch the per-enrollment fee on Starter: sell 20 courses in a launch month and you pay $100 in enrollment fees on top of the plan, so Pro Trainer becomes the cheaper option. A branded mobile app is a separately priced add-on. Trustpilot showed 4.8 from 423 reviews on 25 October 2026, among the strongest public ratings in this list.

Pick it over Coachful if you are building a deep, assessment-heavy nutrition curriculum, perhaps for other professionals, and you do not need habits, check-ins or booking in the same place.

4. Thinkific: when does a large course catalogue make sense?

Thinkific makes sense when you expect many students across many courses and want room to grow. Its entry plan lists up to 10,000 current students, which is far beyond what most solo nutrition coaches need.

Thinkific homepage presenting its course and community platform
Thinkific's homepage in October 2026.

The platform covers courses, communities, memberships and coaching or webinar products. For a nutrition coach, that means you can sell a self-paced course, add a members' community for recipe swaps and run live group events. What it does not do is book 1:1 calls (our earlier profile found coaching relies on external booking links), and there are no client habits, daily check-ins or per-client plans. If your course includes "log three meals a day this week", that logging has to happen somewhere else.

Pricing as listed in October 2026: Start is $109/month ($82 annually) with 2 admins, 1 community, 5 live community events and a maximum group size of 50. Grow is $219/month ($164 annually) and Expand is $499/month ($374 annually). These are about 10% higher than before 13 August 2026, when Start rose from $99 and Grow from $199. Thinkific charges 0% transaction fees on its own payments, at a processing rate it describes as in line with other processors at 2.9%; third-party gateways carry an extra per-plan fee that the page does not quantify. Every self-serve plan has a 30-day free trial. A branded mobile app costs $199/month extra.

Public reviewers are less kind than the feature list: Trustpilot showed 1.8 from 868 reviews on 25 October 2026.

Pick it over Coachful if you are building a course catalogue for thousands of students, need many admin seats, and coaching is a small side of the business.

5. Teachable: a sensible first course with a low entry price?

Teachable is a sensible place for a first nutrition course if you want to start cheaply and are fine with a percentage fee until sales justify a higher plan. It is a course and digital-product platform with student mobile apps.

Teachable homepage presenting its course and digital product platform
Teachable's homepage in October 2026.

A typical use for this niche is a single self-paced course, such as "Meal Prep for Busy Parents", with a downloadable recipe book sold as a second product. Students can watch on Teachable's mobile apps. There is no native scheduling or calendar sync (our earlier profile found coaching calls rely on Calendly and Zoom), and no client habits, daily check-ins or per-client plans.

Prices as listed in October 2026: Starter is $39/month ($29 annually) with 5 products and a 7.5% platform fee on sales. Builder is $89/month ($69 annually) with 10 products and 0% fee, and Growth is $189/month ($139 annually) with 50 products and 5 admins. Teachable Payments processing for US cards is 2.9% + 30¢, international cards 3.9% + 30¢, with a $15 chargeback fee. Plan cards show a 7-day free trial and a 30-day guarantee.

The fee maths matters early. At a $199 course price (an example, not a recommendation), the 7.5% Starter fee is about $14.93 per sale, so four sales a month already cost more than the jump from Starter to Builder. Trustpilot showed 3.3 from 1,110 reviews on 25 October 2026.

Pick it over Coachful if you want to test one self-paced nutrition course with the smallest possible monthly bill and plan to handle any coaching elsewhere.

6. Podia: the simplest storefront on the list?

Podia is probably the simplest way to put a nutrition course, a recipe download and a paid coaching session on one storefront. It sells courses, downloads, webinars, coaching sessions and community access from a clean, low-setup site.

Podia homepage presenting its storefront for courses, downloads and community
Podia's homepage in October 2026.

For a nutrition coach starting out, Podia's appeal is that it does not ask you to design funnels or automations before you can sell. List a "Gut-Friendly Grocery Guide", a four-week course and a 45-minute strategy call, and you are open. Our earlier profile found no mobile app and no native video calls, and Podia has no client habits, check-ins or per-client plans.

Pricing as listed in October 2026: Mover is $49/month ($42 annually) with 50 products, 100 email subscribers included and a 5% Podia fee on sales. Shaker is $99/month ($84 annually) with 500 email subscribers and 0% fee. Earthquaker is $179/month ($150 annually) with 1,000 email subscribers. Stripe or PayPal processing (2.9% + 30¢ standard) applies on top. The trial is 14 days with full access and no card.

The limit that surprises nutrition coaches is email. A free meal plan download can collect a few hundred subscribers in a month, and the included allowances (100, 500 or 1,000) are small for that. Trustpilot showed 4.1 from 153 reviews on 25 October 2026.

Pick it over Coachful if you want a plain storefront for a handful of products, your email list is small, and you do not need clients to log habits or check in.

7. Practice Better: the right call for dietitians who chart?

Practice Better is the right call when you are a dietitian or practitioner who needs charting and a platform the vendor describes as HIPAA-compliant. It is practice management software for health practitioners, and programs and courses are part of it rather than its centre.

Practice Better homepage presenting its practice management platform for health practitioners
Practice Better's homepage in October 2026.

The nutrition features are deep: according to its pricing page, read on 25 October 2026, it offers a food database with over 600,000 foods, daily food and lifestyle journals, nutrient, water and weight goals, protocols, and integrations with That Clean Life, Fullscript and WholeScripts for meal plans and supplements. Telehealth video and messaging are described as HIPAA-compliant, and AI Session Prep summarizes a client's history before each session.

Courses depend on the plan. Starter is $35/month ($25 annually) with 1 practitioner license and 10 clients on the plan card, but programs are not among its listed features. Professional is $69/month ($59 annually) with 300 clients and fixed-date programs. Self-paced and evergreen programs, portal branding and done-for-you program templates start on Plus at $99/month ($89 annually), with unlimited clients. Team is $155/month ($145 annually) with 2 practitioner licenses. A free Sprout plan covers up to 3 clients for students and recent graduates. The Team plan has a 30-day trial and other paid plans 14 days.

For a coach rather than a clinician, the trade-off is focus. Practice Better's pricing page does not list a website builder or sales funnels, so selling a course to cold traffic still needs another tool. We cover the switch in Practice Better alternatives for nutrition coaches.

Pick it over Coachful if you need HIPAA-compliant records, charting, supplement dispensing integrations or a food database for clinical-style meal analysis.

Which one looks like you?

Coachful builds your coaching website from a few answers, in a design chosen for your niche, with programs, booking and payments ready behind it.

8. Systeme.io: can a free plan carry your first course?

It can carry a first course and a lead funnel, which is why Systeme.io earns a spot. It is a low-cost marketing suite with funnels, email, courses, community, a blog and an affiliate program, and it has a free plan that does not expire.

Systeme.io homepage presenting its all-in-one marketing and course platform
Systeme.io's homepage in October 2026.

A nutrition coach can use the free plan to put up a "5-Day Protein Reset" funnel, collect emails and deliver one course to up to 500 students without paying a monthly fee. That makes it a practical test bed before committing to a bigger platform. Our earlier profile found no native 1:1 scheduling with client records, habits or check-ins, and course and community features are basic, with no branded mobile app.

Plans as listed in October 2026: Free costs $0 with 2,000 contacts, 3 funnels, 1 course, 500 students, 1 automation rule and 1 email campaign. Startup is $17/month with 5,000 contacts, 10 funnels and 5 courses. Webinar is $47/month and Unlimited is $97/month. There are 0% transaction fees on every plan, including the free one; Stripe or PayPal processing applies. Trustpilot showed 4.9 from 8,696 reviews on 25 October 2026.

The ceiling arrives when the course works. Once clients ask for weekly check-ins, a call or a meal plan, you are bolting on a scheduling tool, a payment link and a tracking app, and the free plan's single automation rule will not tie them together.

Pick it over Coachful if your budget for software is zero right now and you only need a funnel, an email list and one self-paced course.

Join Coachful now

9. Everfit: what if your clients need an app more than a course?

Then Everfit is worth a look. It is a fitness coaching app with workouts, habits, nutrition and messaging, priced by client count, and it suits nutrition coaches whose work is closer to personal training than to teaching.

Everfit homepage presenting its fitness and nutrition coaching app
Everfit's homepage in October 2026.

Everfit is not a course platform: there is no course builder, website, funnel or email marketing on the vendor's pricing page. What it brings is the daily layer that most course tools lack, with habits and nutrition tracking in an app the client opens every day. Meal plans, automation (which Everfit calls Autoflow) and payments are paid add-ons, so the headline price is not the full price for a nutrition coach.

Pricing as listed in October 2026: Starter is free for up to 5 clients. Pro starts at $19/month ($16 annually) for 5 clients and scales by client count: $29 for 10, $49 for 20, $95 for 50 and $140 for 100 (monthly billing). Studio starts at $105/month for 50 clients. There is a 30-day free trial with no card. Transaction fees are not shown on the pricing page. Trustpilot showed 2.7 from 16 reviews on 25 October 2026, a small sample.

If you choose Everfit, you will still need somewhere to sell and teach: a course platform for the lessons and a checkout for payments. That is the stack Coachful replaces.

Pick it over Coachful if your clients mainly need a workout and nutrition tracking app, you sell no self-paced lessons, and you are comfortable paying for meal plans as an add-on.

10. ABC Trainerize: a fit for trainers who coach nutrition?

ABC Trainerize fits personal trainers who add nutrition coaching to their training clients. It is a fitness and personal-training app with workouts, habits, nutrition tracking and messaging, priced by client seats.

ABC Trainerize homepage presenting its personal training and nutrition app
ABC Trainerize's homepage in October 2026.

The use case is a trainer who wants clients to log meals and hit habit targets between sessions. For course delivery, Trainerize has no course builder, website, funnels or email marketing, according to the vendor's pricing material. Below its Studio tier, scheduling, selling products, payments, video and advanced nutrition are separate paid add-ons, which adds up quickly for a coach who wants all of them.

Plans as listed in October 2026: Basic is free for 1 client, Grow is $10/month for 2 clients, and Pro starts at $25/month ($23 annually) for 5 clients, with Pro tiers at 15, 30, 50, 75, 100 and 200 clients. Our October 2026 notes do not include the prices of the larger Pro tiers, so check them on the vendor's page before comparing. Studio Plus is $275/month for 500 or more clients. The trial is 30 days with unlimited clients and no card, after which the account reverts to the free 1-client plan. In-app payments require the Stripe Integrated Payments add-on, according to our earlier profile.

Data portability is worth checking before you commit: an older profile reports that client data export does not include messages, photos or attachments. Trustpilot showed 3.1 from 100 reviews on 25 October 2026.

Pick it over Coachful if you are a trainer whose nutrition coaching is a logging add-on to workouts, and you do not plan to sell courses. Our guide to course platforms for personal trainers covers that angle in more depth.

11. Kartra: for coaches who live in launches?

Kartra suits nutrition coaches who run launches with email, SMS and pages, and who treat the course as one piece of a marketing machine. It is an all-in-one marketing suite with pages, funnels, email and SMS, memberships, calendars and a helpdesk.

Kartra homepage presenting its marketing suite with pages, funnels and memberships
Kartra's homepage in October 2026.

For a "New Year Nutrition Reset" launch, Kartra can host the opt-in page, the email and SMS sequence, the sales page, the checkout, the membership area with your lessons and a calendar for calls. What it lacks is everything after the sale that is specific to coaching: no client habits, check-ins or per-client plans, and our earlier profile found no mobile app for students or admins.

Prices as listed in October 2026: Essentials is $59/month ($52 annually) with 500 contacts, 5 pages, 1 product, 1 membership or course and a 5% transaction fee. Starter is $119/month ($99 annually) with 2,500 contacts, unlimited pages, products and memberships, unlimited email and SMS and 0% fee. Growth is $229/month and Professional $549/month. There is a 14-day free trial and a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Two cautions. Essentials is too small for most launches (500 contacts, one course), so Starter is the realistic entry point. And an older profile reports that funnels and memberships cannot be moved to other platforms, which matters if you outgrow it. Trustpilot showed 3.2 from 129 reviews on 25 October 2026.

Pick it over Coachful if your business runs on big marketing launches with SMS sequences, and client follow-through happens outside the platform.

12. Stan Store: just a shop in your Instagram bio?

Mostly, yes, and that is its strength. Stan Store is a link-in-bio storefront for selling digital products, courses, memberships and paid calls, and many nutrition coaches start there with a recipe ebook or a short course.

Stan Store homepage presenting its link-in-bio storefront for creators
Stan Store's homepage in October 2026.

A coach with an engaged Instagram or TikTok following can sell a "High-Protein Breakfasts" ebook, a mini course and a paid call from one link within an afternoon. Stan Store takes 0% of sales, with standard Stripe or PayPal processing. Beyond the shop, there are no contracts, invoices or client records, and no programs with client tasks, habits or check-ins.

Plans as listed in October 2026: Creator is $29/month ($25 annually) with unlimited products and customers. Creator Pro is $99/month ($79 annually) and is the plan you need for email marketing, upsells, discount codes and affiliates. Both have a 14-day free trial, with the first month charged when it ends. No team seats are advertised. Trustpilot showed 4.7 from 2,205 reviews on 25 October 2026.

It ranks last here because a nutrition course needs more than a checkout: once buyers want accountability, Stan Store has nowhere to put it. If a mini course is your entry offer, read mini course or signature course first.

Pick it over Coachful if you only sell low-ticket digital products to a social audience and do not coach anyone 1:1 or in groups.

How do the 12 platforms compare feature by feature?

Only Coachful and Practice Better combine lessons with client tracking and nutrition tools; the course platforms stop at lessons, and the fitness apps stop before lessons. Entries reflect vendor pages as listed in October 2026.

What does each platform cost at 5, 15 and 40 clients?

For a nutrition coach running one course plus coaching, monthly list prices range from free to $179 before add-ons, and percentage fees can outweigh the plan price once sales pick up. The table uses monthly billing and the cheapest plan that runs a course (or, for fitness apps, the client tier) at each size, as listed in October 2026. Card processing fees apply on top for every tool.

Read the right-hand column before the price columns. A course platform at $29 to $109 still leaves you paying for booking, contracts and a tracking app, and the fitness apps leave you paying for somewhere to teach and sell. How would a nutrition coach set up a course in Coachful, step by step?

A typical setup is a six-week cohort course with daily habits and an optional 1:1 upgrade, with the first draft built by the white-glove team. Here is the sequence for an example course called "Six Weeks to Steady Energy".

  1. Request the build. Open Create, choose "We'll build it for you", and describe the course: six weekly modules (protein, fibre and vegetables, hydration, meal timing, eating out, keeping it going), your tone, and the handouts you already have. Attach your grocery list and recipe PDFs. The team writes the course outline and written material in your account; you record the videos.
  2. Shape the course. In the course builder, set each module to drip weekly and mark which lessons are required. Add downloads under each lesson so clients find the grocery list in week one and the restaurant guide in week five.
  3. Attach a program with habits. Create a six-week program that includes the course, then add one or two daily habits per week ("protein at breakfast" in week one, "two portions of vegetables at lunch" in week two). Add a short morning check-in ("Energy today, 1 to 5?") and an evening one ("What did dinner look like?").
  4. Add nutrition targets where they fit. With the Fitness & Nutrition pack, set calorie or macro ranges for clients who want numbers, share meal plans and recipes, and turn on a weekly check-in with optional progress photos and measurements. Leave targets off for clients who do better without tracking.
  5. Screen for scope. Add intake questions to the enrollment and booking forms: medical conditions, medications, pregnancy, eating disorder history. Write a referral note into your coaching agreement, which clients e-sign before starting, so anyone who needs a dietitian or physician is referred before the first lesson.
  6. Set up the offer. Create the offer with your own Stripe account: a one-time price, a three-part payment plan and a launch coupon. Add an order bump for a recipe pack and a separate 1:1 package with session credits for clients who want more support.
  7. Build the funnel. Use a lead-magnet funnel template for a free "3-Day Steady Energy Meal Guide", connect a three-email sequence that ends with the course invitation, and add your Meta Pixel or GA4 tracking. Our nutrition coach website plan covers the pages around it.
  8. Run the cohort. When the first client enrolls, the cohort group is created automatically. Schedule a weekly video Q&A as an event and post the week's focus in the feed every Monday.
  9. Watch the quiet ones. Each morning, check which clients have moved from active to quiet or at risk and send a short message. Ask Michelle for a briefing before 1:1 calls so you walk in knowing their check-in answers.

For pricing the course itself, our nutrition coach salary guide shows how earnings are built, and cohort course design covers session rhythm and group size.

What mistakes do nutrition coaches make when choosing a course platform?

The most common mistake is choosing a tool for the lessons and discovering later that the coaching happens everywhere else. Other common ones in this niche:

  • Teaching habits without tracking them. A lesson on protein that never asks "Did you have protein at breakfast?" teaches facts, not behavior. If the platform has no habits or check-ins, plan where those will live before launch.
  • Ignoring percentage fees. 5% or 7.5% on every sale looks small at launch and becomes the largest line on the bill by month three. Do the maths at your expected monthly sales.
  • Collecting clinical data on a non-clinical tool. If you are a dietitian who is a covered entity under HIPAA, or you work with diagnosed conditions, use a tool that offers a BAA. Coachful does not offer one.
  • Writing treatment into a course. "Reverse your insulin resistance in six weeks" is a treatment claim. Keep the course to habits for generally healthy adults and refer out; see what a nutrition coach does.
  • Building a two-hour lesson. Clients watch on a phone between school pickup and dinner. Short lessons with one action each get finished; see how to create a course clients finish.
  • Stacking four tools before the first sale. A course platform, Calendly, a contract tool and a macro app mean four logins for you and three for your client. Count the logins as well as the prices.
  • Forgetting the email list cap. A free meal guide can bring hundreds of sign-ups in a month. Check contact and subscriber caps before you promote it.

Which course platform should a nutrition coach choose?

Choose Coachful if you coach people through your course: it is the only option here with lessons, daily habits, check-ins, macro targets, meal plans, booking, contracts and payments in one place, at 0% platform fee, with a free white-glove build to get the first course live. Choose Kajabi or LearnWorlds if you sell self-paced products at volume and keep coaching to a minimum. Choose Practice Better if you are a clinician who needs HIPAA-compliant charting. Choose Systeme.io or Stan Store if your budget is close to zero and you only need to sell a first digital product.

Whatever you pick, decide your scope first, then the client journey, then the tool. For health coaches with a broader brief, our course platforms for health coaches ranking and the Coachful for health coaches page are good next reads.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best course platform for nutrition coaches?

For coaches who teach and coach, Coachful, because courses, habits, check-ins, macro targets and meal plans sit on one client record with booking and payments. For pure self-paced course sales at volume, Kajabi or LearnWorlds. For clinicians who need HIPAA-compliant records, Practice Better.

Can I sell a nutrition course without being a registered dietitian?

In many places you can teach general nutrition education to healthy adults, but rules on individualized advice vary by US state and by country. Read our guide to what state laws allow and check with an attorney if you are unsure. Keep course content to habits and education, and refer anyone with a medical condition.

Do course platforms like Kajabi or Teachable track client habits?

No. Based on their published features, Kajabi, Teachable, Thinkific, Podia and LearnWorlds have no client habit tracking, daily check-ins or per-client plans. Coaches using them usually add a separate tracking app or a spreadsheet.

Is Coachful HIPAA-compliant?

No. Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and does not sign a BAA, so it is not suitable for clinical record-keeping or insurance billing. It is built for coaching, not treatment.

Can Coachful set calorie and macro targets for clients?

Yes, through the Fitness & Nutrition pack, which adds nutrition targets up to calories and macros, meal plans, recipes, food lookup with barcode scanning and weekly check-ins with private progress photos and measurements. It does not sync with Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop or Oura.

What is Coachful's free white-glove service?

On every plan, the Coachful team will build a course outline and written material, a program, a funnel, a sales page, an email sequence or a website inside your account, usually within about 24 hours. You describe what you want and attach up to 10 files and 8 links. It does not include recording videos, logo design or ad management.

Which platform is cheapest for a first nutrition course?

Systeme.io's free plan runs one course for up to 500 students with 0% transaction fees, as listed in October 2026. It has no client habits, check-ins or 1:1 booking, so it suits a test rather than a coaching business.

Should a nutrition course be self-paced or cohort-based?

Habit change tends to benefit from a shared start date, a weekly call and peers posting their meals, so cohorts suit a signature course. Self-paced works for a low-ticket mini course or recipe guide. See how to create a mini course for the self-paced route.

Can I move my existing course into Coachful?

Yes. Clients, programs and content are imported for you during onboarding, and the white-glove service can rebuild sales pages and funnels. You can also export full client data as a ZIP and export courses if you ever leave.
