Top 5 Course Platforms for Health Coaches: Ranked and Reviewed

Top 5 Course Platforms for Health Coaches: Ranked and Reviewed

The best course platforms for health coaches do more than host videos. A health coach's course is usually a behaviour change program in disguise: lessons on sleep, hydration, blood sugar friendly meals or stress, followed by small daily actions the client has to repeat until they stick. So the deciding question is not "where can I upload lessons?" but "where will my clients actually do the habits, report back, and stay in touch with me between calls?" A platform that only plays videos leaves the hardest part of your method in a spreadsheet or a group chat.

Our pick is Coachful, because it puts the course, the daily habits, morning and evening check-ins, booking, payments and a community inside one branded client app, so a client who finishes Lesson 3 on fibre can log today's vegetables in the same place. Full disclosure: we make Coachful. Below, you get our quick picks by situation, the criteria we ranked on, a section per tool with prices as listed in October 2026, a feature matrix, three example stacks with monthly costs, a step-by-step setup and the mistakes we see most often.

Which course platform should a health coach pick?

Pick Coachful if your course is the front door to coaching and you want lessons, habits and check-ins in one place. Pick one of the others if your situation is narrower, as the table shows.

Ranking criteria: one login for the whole client journey, delivery between sessions (habits and check-ins, not just lessons), total stack cost at real client numbers, and setup effort, including Coachful's free white-glove build.

What do health coaches need from a course platform?

Health coaches need a platform that turns lessons into repeated daily behaviour and shows the coach who is slipping. Course hosting is table stakes; the differences show up after the client presses play.

Think about how a typical health coaching offer runs. A client joins a 6- or 12-week program on gut health, menopause, energy, weight or blood sugar. Each week brings a short lesson, a handout or recipe pack, and one or two new habits: drink water before coffee, walk ten minutes after dinner, add a vegetable to breakfast, be in bed by 10:30. The coach checks in, adjusts, and holds a group or 1:1 call. Clients who drift in week three are the ones who ask for a refund in week six. That workflow puts specific demands on software:

  • Habits and check-ins, not just completion ticks. A lesson marked "complete" tells you the client watched a video. A daily habit streak and a morning check-in tell you whether they changed anything. Our guide to client accountability portals for health coaches goes deeper on this.
  • Mixed content formats. Short videos, printable meal planners, recipe PDFs, worksheets and sometimes audio for a breathing practice. The platform has to deliver all of them to a phone without the client hunting through emails.
  • Drip by week. Releasing all twelve weeks on day one overwhelms beginners. Weekly drip keeps the group in step and lets you run cohorts.
  • A path from course to coaching. Many health coaches sell a low-priced mini course and invite graduates into a higher-touch program. Booking, payment plans and an agreement need to sit one click away from the last lesson. See mini course or signature course for how coaches structure that ladder.
  • Group support. A community feed or cohort chat where clients swap recipes and wins, which a group coaching tool or built-in community handles.
  • A clear scope line. Health coaching supports behaviour change; it does not diagnose, treat or prescribe. Your course, intake questions and agreement should say so, and should tell clients to see a physician, registered dietitian or mental health professional for symptoms, medication questions, eating disorder signs or anything clinical. If you work inside a clinic or bill insurance, you may be a covered entity under HIPAA (see the HHS guide to covered entities), which changes what software you can use.
  • Honest marketing claims. Before-and-after testimonials in health niches attract regulator attention. The FTC's endorsement guides explain what you must disclose when you publish client results on your sales page.

If you are still choosing your wider stack, our roundup of the best health coaching software covers scheduling, records and messaging, and the general list of course creation platforms for coaches covers the category for every niche.

Build your platform

How did we rank these platforms?

We ranked on four questions, weighted toward what makes a health coaching course work rather than what makes it look good on a sales page.

  1. One login for the whole client journey. Can a client buy, sign, book, learn, log habits and message you without switching apps?
  2. Delivery between sessions. Does the platform support daily habits, check-ins and progress tracking, or only lesson completion?
  3. Total stack cost. What does it cost per month once you add the tools the platform lacks (scheduling, client records, email), at 5, 15 and 40 clients?
  4. Setup effort. How long until the course, sales page and checkout are live, and does anyone help you build it?

We did not run hands-on tests for this article. Vendor details come from each company's own pricing and feature pages as listed in October 2026, and ratings are public review scores seen on 25 October 2026. Practice Better's prices come from its pricing page, checked today.

1. Coachful: best overall course platform for health coaches

Wins when: your course is the start of a coaching relationship and you want clients doing habits, check-ins and lessons in one branded app, with booking and payments built in.

A laptop showing an enrolled group program next to a phone showing a habit tracker on a sunny desk
Coachful's client Programs view on a laptop and the Growing Habits tracker on a phone, both with demo data, beside a mug of herbal tea.

Coachful is a coaching platform where a course is one piece of a longer client journey. One subscription covers booking, payments, coaching agreements, program delivery with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant. You get one login; your client gets one app under your branding. It is built for coaches who deliver programs rather than only sessions, solo coaches growing into a small team, and coaches tired of paying for four to six separate tools.

How the course side works

Courses in Coachful have modules, lessons, drip release and completion tracking. Next to them you can deliver downloads (meal planners, shopping lists), videos, books, AI tools, events and bundles, all of which land in the client's branded home and app rather than in a separate student portal. If you would rather not start from a blank page, there are 48 course templates with quizzes and more than 40 ready-to-film program templates. More detail lives on the online course platform page.

Where it pulls ahead for health coaches: habits and check-ins

Most course platforms stop at "lesson complete." Coachful programs run for multiple weeks with weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars, and streaks. So the week-two lesson on hydration can come with a daily water habit and an evening check-in asking how the day went. On the coach side, every client record shows goals, check-ins, habits, notes, intake answers, tags, payments and sessions, plus a status of thriving, active, quiet or at risk. That status is what lets you message the client who went quiet on day nine before they disappear.

When someone enrolls in a program, Coachful creates a cohort group automatically, so a group of clients doing the same reset can share recipes and wins in the community feed, group chat or a live video event. The walkthrough below shows how programs are put together.

Selling the course and the coaching after it

Payments run through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account with one-time prices, subscriptions, payment plans, order bumps, coupons, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Coachful takes a 0% platform fee (since August 2026), so you only pay Stripe or Razorpay processing. When a course graduate wants 1:1 support, the booking page handles availability, buffers, time zones, intake questions and two-way calendar sync, and a coaching agreement with e-signature goes out before the first call. Your website, sales pages, lead-magnet funnels and email sequences live in the same account.

Health coaches who also give nutrition guidance within their scope can add the Fitness & Nutrition pack: nutrition targets up to calories and macros, meal plans, recipes, food lookup with barcode scanning, private progress photos and measurements, and weekly check-ins. Michelle, the built-in AI assistant, works from your live practice data: she can draft a program outline or a week of emails, summarize recorded sessions and brief you before a call. Questions and planning are included in your Coachful membership; confirmed builds and changes use AI credits.

Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. From Create, choose "We'll build it for you" and describe what you need: a website, a funnel, a sales page, a program, a course outline with written material, an email sequence, a lead quiz and more. Attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files such as your logo, photos and existing copy. The Coachful team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours, and leaves gaps for you rather than inventing credentials, testimonials or prices. One recent example: a menopause and midlife health coach starting from nothing got a five-page site in sage and cream where every button led to a free 20-minute consultation. It does not cover filming videos, logo design or running ads. Read more about the free white-glove service.

What Coachful does not do

Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and does not sign a BAA, so it is not the place for clinical records or insurance billing. It has no PayPal, no permanent free plan, and no Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop or Oura sync; Apple Health sync is not publicly available. The client app ships under the Coachful listing with your branding rather than your own App Store account. It is also not a course marketplace, so it will not send you buyers the way a directory might.

Price: flat monthly plans; lower plans cap the number of clients and Pro is unlimited (current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients). Monthly plans cancel in one click and there is a free trial.

How to start: open a free trial, then request the white-glove build for your site and first course outline while you film lesson one. The Coachful for health coaches page shows the setup for this niche.

2. Kajabi: best for a large audience buying evergreen courses

If you already have tens of thousands of followers and your plan is to sell a self-paced course to many people rather than coach a few closely, Kajabi is the strongest fit on this list. It is a course, community, website, funnel and email platform built for selling knowledge products, and it gives a health coach with an established brand a polished storefront.

Kajabi homepage promoting its platform for selling courses, communities and coaching
Kajabi's homepage in October 2026.

What a health coach gets

Kajabi bundles course hosting, a community, a website, funnels and email marketing. A coach with a popular blood sugar or hormone-health course can run launches through funnels and email and keep buyers in a branded community. For a list-driven business where most revenue comes from course sales and not from 1:1 work, that is a coherent setup.

Pricing as listed in October 2026

  • Basic: $179/mo ($143/mo billed annually): 5 products, 2,500 contacts, 1 community, 1 website, 2 admin users, 0 AI credits.
  • Growth: $249/mo ($199/mo annually): 50 products, 25,000 contacts, 11 admin users, 500 AI credits.
  • Pro: $499/mo ($399/mo annually): unlimited products, 100,000 contacts, 3 communities, 3 websites, 1,000 AI credits.

Kajabi Payments in the US charges 2.9% + $0.30 on Basic, falling to 2.7% + $0.30 on Pro. Using another processor (other than PayPal) adds a Kajabi fee of 2% on Basic, 1% on Growth or 0.5% on Pro on top of the processor's own fees. The standard trial is 14 days, and some features such as bulk contact import stay locked until a paid plan is active. Kajabi held a Trustpilot score of 3.4 from 2,347 reviews when we checked.

Where it falls short for this niche

Kajabi has no habit tracking and no daily client check-ins; coaching there means products and communities, not per-client plans. A health coach who wants to see that a client logged sleep five nights out of seven will need another tool. The 2,500-contact cap and 5-product limit on Basic also bite quickly once you add a lead magnet, a mini course, a signature course and a membership.

Pick it over Coachful if your business is mainly self-paced course sales to a large list, you rarely coach individuals, and you value Kajabi's marketing suite more than daily habit tracking and client records.

3. LearnWorlds: best for a quiz-heavy, self-paced curriculum

Some health coaches teach more than they coach: a structured course on nutrition basics, a workplace wellness program for an employer, or a self-study module that companies license. For that kind of education-first product, LearnWorlds is built like a learning management system, with a website builder, funnels, SCORM support and interactive video.

LearnWorlds pricing page showing its plans in euros
LearnWorlds's pricing page in October 2026, shown in euros.

Why educators like it

Interactive video lets you put questions inside a lesson, which suits a course that teaches label reading or portion estimation step by step. SCORM support matters if a corporate wellness client wants to load your course into its own system. The Learning Center plan adds client groups, which can help if you sell the same course to several employers.

The October 2026 price list

  • Starter: $29/mo ($24/mo annually): 1 admin, 1,000 active learners a month, 300 AI credits, and a $5 fee per paid enrollment.
  • Pro Trainer: $99/mo ($79/mo annually): 5 admins, 2,000 active learners a month, 15 page funnels, 2,000 mass emails a month, no LearnWorlds transaction fee.
  • Learning Center: $299/mo ($249/mo annually): 25 admins, up to 10 client groups, 5,000 mass emails a month.

Stripe or PayPal gateway fees of 2.9% + $0.30 apply on every plan. The free trial runs 30 days, and LearnWorlds says no credit card is required; a school that is not upgraded is scheduled for deletion. A branded mobile app is a separately priced add-on. LearnWorlds had a Trustpilot score of 4.8 from 423 reviews when we looked.

Gaps for coaching work

LearnWorlds is not built for 1:1 client management, habits or check-ins. There is no client status view showing who has gone quiet, and coaching calls need an outside scheduler. The $5 enrollment fee on Starter also adds up: at 40 paid enrollments a month it is $200 on top of the plan, which pushes most sellers to Pro Trainer.

Pick it over Coachful if you sell mostly self-study education with quizzes and interactive video, you need SCORM for corporate buyers, and 1:1 coaching is a small part of your income.

Which one looks like you?

Coachful builds your coaching website from a few answers, in a design chosen for your niche, with programs, booking and payments ready behind it.

4. Practice Better: best when you need HIPAA compliance and food journals

Health coaches who work alongside dietitians, functional medicine practitioners or a clinic often need software that handles protected health information. Practice Better is an EHR-style practice management platform that lists HIPAA, PIPEDA and GDPR compliance on its pricing page, and it includes programs and courses alongside charting, scheduling and telehealth.

The health-specific toolkit

According to its pricing page, Practice Better offers daily food and lifestyle journals, nutrient, water and weight goal tracking, protocol and recommendation builders, forms and note templates, secure messaging and its own telehealth video. Some plans add a food database of over 600,000 foods and a Cronometer integration that syncs food and biometric data into journals. For a coach whose course includes food logging reviewed by the coach, that is a real advantage.

Plans checked on 25 October 2026

  • Sprout: free for up to 3 clients (aimed at students and new practitioners).
  • Starter: $35/mo ($25/mo annually): 10 clients, scheduling, telehealth, payments, client portal and mobile app.
  • Professional: $69/mo ($59/mo annually): 300 clients, group scheduling and messaging, fixed-date programs, payment plans.
  • Plus: $99/mo ($89/mo annually): unlimited clients, evergreen and self-paced programs, portal branding, 750 SMS reminders a month.
  • Team: $155/mo ($145/mo annually): 2 practitioner licenses, additional practitioners at $50 each.

Paid plans come with a 14-day trial (30 days on Team). The pricing page shows a G2 rating of 4.7 from 250+ reviews.

Trade-offs to weigh

Course features are tiered: fixed-date programs start on Professional, but self-paced and evergreen programs, the format most course sellers want, need Plus. Portal and email branding also arrive only on Plus. Practice Better leans toward a clinical record system, so marketing pieces such as a sales-page website builder, funnels and email sequences are not its focus; a coach selling courses to the public may need a separate site and email tool.

Pick it over Coachful if you handle protected health information, need a system that lists HIPAA compliance, or want food journals synced from Cronometer as a core part of your program.

5. Podia: best for a first mini course on a small budget

The simplest way to test whether anyone will pay for your "7-day sugar reset" is a small storefront, and Podia keeps that easy. It sells courses, downloads, webinars, coaching sessions and a community from one tidy store, with a 14-day full-access trial that needs no credit card.

Podia homepage presenting its storefront for courses, downloads and communities
Podia's homepage in October 2026.

Good fit when you are just testing

A new health coach can publish a short video course and a recipe download, connect Stripe or PayPal, and share one link. If the mini course sells, it proves demand before you spend on a larger system. Our guide on how to create a mini course walks through the content side.

Cost as listed in October 2026

  • Mover: $49/mo ($42/mo annually): 50 products, 500 videos, 25 community spaces, 100 email subscribers included, and a 5% Podia transaction fee.
  • Shaker: $99/mo ($84/mo annually): 150 products, 500 email subscribers, 1 assistant, 0% Podia fee.
  • Earthquaker: $179/mo ($150/mo annually): unlimited products, videos and spaces, 1,000 email subscribers, 0% Podia fee.

Stripe or PayPal processing (2.9% + 30¢ standard) applies on top. Podia's Trustpilot score was 4.1 from 153 reviews when we checked.

What you outgrow

Email allowances are small: 100 subscribers on Mover is less than one modest lead magnet will collect. As of its September 2026 profile, Podia has no mobile app and no native video calls. There are no client habits, check-ins or per-client plans, so once a mini course buyer becomes a coaching client, you need somewhere else to run the program.

Pick it over Coachful if you want to sell one mini course or download as cheaply as possible, you have no coaching clients yet, and you are happy to move platforms once you do.

How do the five platforms compare feature by feature?

Coachful is the only platform here that combines course delivery with daily habits, check-ins, booking and agreements; Practice Better comes closest on the health side but splits course features across tiers.

What does a full stack cost per month?

Course platforms rarely cover a health coaching business alone, so compare stacks rather than sticker prices. The three examples below are illustrative setups for a coach running a self-paced course plus a small 1:1 or group program, using list prices from October 2026 and excluding card processing fees.

Example stackWhat it coversAt 5 clientsAt 15 clientsAt 40 clients
Coachful aloneCourse, habits, check-ins, booking, payments, agreements, community, website, funnels, emailLite: $29/month for up to 5 clientsSolo: $49/month for up to 20 clientsPro: $99/month with unlimited clients

Podia + Practice BetterPodia for the mini course and store; Practice Better for coaching clients$84/mo (Mover $49 + Starter $35), plus Podia's 5% fee$118/mo (Mover $49 + Professional $69), plus Podia's 5% fee$168/mo (Shaker $99 + Professional $69)

The second and third stacks also mean two logins for you and two apps for your clients, with course progress in one place and habits in another. The 40-client Podia row assumes you have outgrown Mover's 100 email subscribers. Practice Better's annual prices and Kajabi's annual prices would lower those totals; compare like with like when you decide.

How does a health coach set up a course in Coachful, step by step?

Here is an illustrative setup for a gut-health coach launching a six-week self-paced reset that leads into a group program. Most of it fits into a week, and the first step can be handed off.

A laptop showing a library of check-in flows and a tablet showing a client's coaching progress page on a wooden table
Coachful's coaching flows library with morning and evening check-ins on the laptop and a client's 90-day journey page on the tablet, both demo data.
  1. Request the build. Open Create and choose "We'll build it for you." Ask for a five-page site, a lead-magnet funnel for a free "3-day fibre kickstart" PDF, and a sales page for the reset. Attach your logo, headshots and the outline in a document.
  2. Pick a site look. If you prefer to do it yourself, start from one of the 30 homepage templates; the wellness designs suit this niche.
  3. Build the course. Create six modules, one per week, with a short video, a recipe download and a shopping list in each. Set weekly drip so Week 2 opens seven days after enrollment. Add a quiz at the end of Week 1 to check that clients understood the fibre targets.
  4. Attach habits and check-ins. Turn the course into a program with a daily habit for each week (water before coffee, one extra vegetable, a ten-minute walk after dinner) and morning and evening check-ins asking about energy and digestion.
Coaching flows library with Welcome, Daily, Weekly and Journeys tabs and morning and evening check-in cards
Coachful's coaching flows library with Welcome, Daily, Weekly and Journeys tabs and the Morning Check-in and Evening Check-in flows.
  1. Write the scope line in. In your intake questions, ask about diagnosed conditions and medications, and state that the program is coaching, not medical or dietetic care. Send your coaching agreement for e-signature with the same wording, and list when you will refer a client to their doctor or a registered dietitian.
  2. Create the offer. Set up a one-time price and a payment plan through your Stripe account, with an order bump for a recipe book download. Decide your price from your costs and the outcome you deliver; our article on platforms for selling coaching packages covers checkout options.
  3. Open a booking page. Add a free 20-minute call for course graduates, with intake questions and buffers, so the step from course to group program is one click.
  4. Watch the status column. After launch, check who is quiet or at risk each morning and send a short message. Ask Michelle for a pre-call briefing before group sessions.

Which mistakes should health coaches avoid when choosing a course platform?

The costliest mistake is choosing a platform for the sales page and then discovering it cannot track the habits your method depends on. Others follow close behind.

  • Treating completion as success. A client can finish every lesson and change nothing. Choose a platform that tracks the daily actions your course asks for.
  • Ignoring the per-sale fees. Podia's 5% on Mover, LearnWorlds' $5 per enrollment on Starter and Kajabi's extra fee with outside processors all scale with your success. Our list of coaching platforms with no transaction fees compares this directly.
  • Collecting health data in the wrong tool. If you are a covered entity or work under a clinic, you need a HIPAA-compliant system with a BAA. Coachful is not one; Practice Better lists HIPAA compliance.
  • Overpromising results. "Lose 20 pounds in 30 days" headlines and unlabelled before-and-after photos create legal and ethical risk. Keep claims to what coaching does and disclose material connections in testimonials.
  • Releasing everything at once. Twelve weeks of content on day one leads to binge and drop-off. Drip weekly and pair each lesson with one habit.
  • Running the course and the coaching in separate systems without a plan. If you do split tools, decide where client notes live and how graduates move to coaching, or they slip through the gap. Our list of mistakes new health coaches make covers more of these.

What is our verdict?

For most health coaches, Coachful is the best course platform because a health course only works when clients act on it daily, and Coachful puts the lessons, habits, check-ins, booking, payments and community in one branded app, with a free white-glove build to get you live. Kajabi is the better choice for a large-audience course business that rarely coaches 1:1. LearnWorlds suits education-first products with quizzes and SCORM. Practice Better is the right call when HIPAA compliance or clinical-style food journals are non-negotiable. Podia is a cheap way to test a first mini course before you commit.

If you want to see how other niches handle the same choice, compare our course platforms for life coaches roundup, or read about cohort course design before you build.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best course platform for health coaches?

Coachful is our pick for most health coaches because it combines courses with daily habits, morning and evening check-ins, booking, payments and a community in one branded client app. If you need HIPAA compliance, look at Practice Better. If you only sell self-paced courses to a large list, Kajabi is a strong alternative.

Can I track client habits inside a course platform?

Most course platforms cannot. Kajabi, LearnWorlds and Podia track lesson completion but have no client habits or daily check-ins. Coachful programs include habits with streaks and check-ins, and Practice Better offers food and lifestyle journals.

Do health coaches need a HIPAA-compliant course platform?

It depends on your role. If you are a covered entity under HIPAA, such as a provider who bills insurance, or you work under a clinic that is, you need a compliant system with a business associate agreement. Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and does not sign a BAA; Practice Better lists HIPAA compliance. Check with an attorney if you are unsure where you fall.

What is Coachful's free white-glove service?

It is a done-for-you build included on every plan. You describe what you want, such as a website, funnel, sales page, course outline or email sequence, attach up to 8 links and 10 files, and the Coachful team builds it in your account, usually within about 24 hours. It does not include filming videos, logo design or ad management.

Is it better to sell a mini course or a full program first?

Many health coaches start with a short, low-priced mini course that solves one problem, then invite buyers into a longer coached program. The mini course tests demand and builds trust. Our comparison of how to create an online course clients finish covers both formats.

Which platform has the lowest transaction fees for health coaches?

Coachful charges a 0% platform fee, so you pay only Stripe or Razorpay processing. Kajabi charges no extra fee on Kajabi Payments but adds 0.5 to 2% with other processors. Podia takes 5% on Mover, and LearnWorlds charges $5 per paid enrollment on Starter.

Can I give nutrition advice in my health coaching course?

Rules on nutrition advice vary by country and state, and in some places individualized meal plans are limited to licensed professionals. Keep your course to general education and behaviour change unless you hold the right credential, and refer clients with medical conditions to a registered dietitian or physician. Check your local rules with an attorney.

Does Coachful sync with wearables like Fitbit or Apple Health?

No. Coachful has no Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop or Oura sync, and Apple Health sync is not publicly available. Clients log habits, check-ins, measurements and progress photos directly in the app.

Can I run group cohorts through my course?

Yes, on most of these platforms. Coachful creates a cohort group automatically when clients enroll in a program, with a feed, group chat and video events. Kajabi and Podia include communities, and Practice Better adds group messaging from its Professional plan.

How long does it take to launch a health coaching course?

A simple mini course on a storefront such as Podia can go live quickly. A full program with a site, funnel, course and habits takes longer, though Coachful's white-glove team usually builds the site and funnel within about 24 hours of your request, leaving you to record the lessons.
