Top 7 Kit Alternatives for Coaches: Ranked and Reviewed

Top 7 Kit Alternatives for Coaches: Ranked and Reviewed

The best Kit alternatives for coaches depend on one question: is email the product you sell, or the pipe that brings people to your sessions and programs? Kit (formerly ConvertKit) is a strong newsletter tool, but it fulfills digital products only and has no scheduling, client records, course portal, community or check-ins. If you coach for a living, that means Kit is usually one of four or five tools you pay for, and the real decision is whether to swap it for a better email tool or for a platform that does the email and the coaching in one place.

Our pick for most coaches is Coachful, because it puts email sequences, funnels, booking, payments, contracts and program delivery behind one login, with one branded app for clients. We make Coachful, so weigh that, and use the checklist below to test the ranking against your own practice. The other six tools here are real options for specific situations, and each section ends with the case for choosing it instead.

Prices for other vendors are as listed in October 2026 unless a section says otherwise. If you are still deciding whether to leave Kit at all, our Kit review and Kit pricing breakdown cover what you get today.

What should you ask about your practice before leaving Kit?

Answer five questions first, because they decide the pick faster than any feature list. Write your answers down; the table in the next section maps them to a tool.

  1. Is email your product or your pipeline? If you run a paid newsletter, rely on Kit's Creator Network for subscriber growth, or send to tens of thousands of readers who never book a call, you need a dedicated email platform. If email exists to fill discovery calls, programs and cohorts, the email tool matters less than what happens after someone says yes.
  2. Where do paying clients live after they buy? Kit stops at the sale. Ask where the client books, signs the agreement, finds the program materials, reports a check-in and messages you. If today that is a calendar link, a PDF, a shared folder and a WhatsApp thread, that is the gap to close.
  3. How do you take money, and what does each sale cost? Kit Commerce charges 3.5% + $0.30 per USD transaction, all-in, per its help center. Some platforms run payments through your own Stripe account with no platform fee; others add a percentage on top. On a high-ticket package, a point or two of fees adds up.
  4. How many clients and subscribers will you have in a year? Email tools price by subscriber count. Coaching platforms usually price by client count or flat tiers. A coach with 15 clients and a list of 1,000 pays very differently on each model, so estimate both numbers.
  5. Who rebuilds your pages, forms and sequences? Switching is mostly setup time. If you will do it yourself on weekends, favour tools with templates. If you would rather hand it off, check whether the vendor builds for you and what that costs.

One extra note for health, nutrition and wellness coaches: coaching is not treatment. If your work drifts into diagnosis, prescribing or managing a medical condition, refer the client to a licensed clinician, and if you need HIPAA-covered records or insurance billing, that pushes you toward clinical practice software rather than any coaching or email tool.

Thinking of launching your coaching business?

Answer a few questions and Coachful builds it around you: your website, programs, booking and payments. Ready in minutes.

If your answers point at a coaching platform rather than an email tool, our roundup of coaching software goes wider than this list.

1. Coachful: why is it the best Kit alternative for coaches?

Coachful replaces Kit's job (lists, broadcasts, sequences, landing pages) and the jobs Kit never did: booking, payments, coaching agreements, program delivery, courses, community and a website. It is a coaching platform built for coaches who deliver programs, not just sessions, solo coaches growing into a small team, and anyone replacing four to six tools.

Does Coachful cover what you use Kit for?

Yes for most coaching use. Coachful includes email lists, broadcasts and multi-step sequences with triggers, delays, branching and A/B splits, so a welcome series, a nurture sequence after a lead magnet or a re-engagement flow all rebuild inside it. Booking, application, lead-magnet and checkout funnels come with Meta Pixel and UTM tracking, and there is a link-in-bio page that sells. The section-based website builder has a blog, custom domain, SEO settings and 30 designed homepage templates, with an Import website option if you already have a site.

Coachful's Emails screen with an inbox, a conversation list and an open conversation

What Kit offers that Coachful does not list: the Creator Network recommendation system, paid newsletter subscriptions as a product, and subscriber-scale deliverability reporting. If your income is the newsletter itself, those matter. If the newsletter exists to sell coaching, they rarely do.

What happens after someone buys?

This is where Coachful pulls ahead of every email tool on the list. A client books through a page with your availability rules, buffers, minimum notice and time-zone detection, synced two ways with Google, Apple/iCloud or Outlook. Calls run on built-in video or auto-created Zoom, Meet or Teams links. Reminders go by email, plus SMS 24 hours before and WhatsApp one hour before once messaging is enabled. A coaching agreement with e-signature goes out before the first call and is stored on the client record.

Payments run through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account: one-time, subscriptions, payment plans, order bumps, coupons, refunds, Apple Pay and Google Pay, with an invoice per transaction. Coachful has charged a 0% platform fee since August 2026, so you pay only Stripe or Razorpay processing. Compare that with Kit Commerce's all-in percentage in the next sections.

Between sessions, clients work through multi-week programs with weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars and streaks. Courses, downloads and videos land in the same branded home and app, and cohort groups are created automatically when someone enrolls in a group program.

On your side, each client record holds goals, check-ins, habits, notes, intake answers, tags, payments and sessions, with a status of thriving, active, quiet or at risk. Michelle, the built-in AI assistant, works from that live data: it briefs you before sessions, drafts emails and content, summarizes recorded sessions and can build programs. Questions and planning are included in your Coachful membership; confirmed builds and changes use AI credits. If you are working toward an ICF credential, Coachful counts coaching hours and distinct clients against ACC, PCC and MCC thresholds and exports an ICF client coaching log.

Here is a short walkthrough of the email tools, the part Kit users ask about first:

Pricing and limits

Plans are flat monthly prices. Lower plans cap the number of clients, Pro is unlimited, and team plans add coach seats with per-coach availability and staff permissions (current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients). Monthly plans cancel in one click, and you can start with a free trial. Coachful has no permanent free plan, only the free trial, which is the clearest difference from Kit's newsletter tier for up to 10,000 subscribers.

Be clear on what it does not do. Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and offers no BAA, so it is not for clinical record-keeping or insurance billing. There is no PayPal. The client app ships under the Coachful listing with your branding, not under your own App Store account. There is no Salesforce or HubSpot integration, no multi-stage deal board for large sales teams, and the affiliate program tracks links, clicks, conversions and revenue, but you record payouts manually.

Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. From Create, the "We'll build it for you" option lets you describe what you want built: a website, funnel, sales page, program, course outline, email sequence or newsletter, link in bio, lead quiz, webinar or automation. You can attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files such as logos, brand guides and existing copy. The Coachful team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours. Nothing gets invented: no fake credentials, testimonials or prices, and gaps are left for you to fill. It does not cover recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing. A business mentor for beauty professionals, for example, got a 12-week mentorship sales page, a free start-up-guide funnel and rewritten follow-up emails, which is close to the job of moving a Kit setup across. More detail is in our guide to the white-glove service.

The Create page in Coachful, where the build-it-for-you card starts a white-glove request.

During onboarding, clients, programs and content are imported for you, and you can export everything later as a ZIP (roster, notes, check-ins, goals, habits, sessions, form responses), so you are not locked in. Coachful's Trustpilot rating is 4.5 from 21 reviews, a small sample next to Kit's 3.9 from 162 in October 2026.

Pick Kit over Coachful if... email is your business, you depend on Creator Network recommendations or paid newsletter subscriptions, and you never need to book or deliver to clients.

2. Systeme.io: is the cheapest all-in-one good enough?

For coaches whose business is mostly funnels and digital products, Systeme.io is the lowest-cost way off Kit that still adds courses and a community. It is a marketing suite: funnels, email, courses, community, blog and an affiliate program in one account.

The Systeme.io homepage promoting its all-in-one marketing platform
Systeme.io's homepage in October 2026.

As listed in October 2026, the Free plan covers 2,000 contacts, 3 funnels, 1 course with 500 students, 1 blog, 1 custom domain, 1 automation rule and 1 email campaign. Startup is $17 a month for 5,000 contacts, 10 funnels and 5 courses. Webinar is $47 a month for 10,000 contacts, 50 funnels and 20 courses, and Unlimited is $97 a month with no caps on contacts, funnels, courses or automation rules. The free plan never expires and needs no credit card. Systeme.io charges 0% transaction fees on every plan, including the free one; you pay only Stripe or PayPal processing, which undercuts Kit Commerce's 3.5% + $0.30.

The trade-off is the client side. Systeme.io has no native 1:1 scheduling tied to client records, and no habits or check-ins, according to the profile we compiled in September 2026. The same profile notes that its community and course areas are basic and that it does not offer a branded mobile app. For a coach running a cohort, that means pairing it with a scheduler and some other place for accountability. On Trustpilot it showed 4.9 from 8,696 reviews in October 2026, the strongest public score on this list.

Systeme.io works well as a direct Kit swap for list-building plus a few low-ticket products. Our ClickFunnels alternatives roundup compares it against other funnel builders.

Pick it over Coachful if... your revenue is lead magnets, low-ticket courses and affiliate sales, you rarely run 1:1 sessions, and the lowest monthly bill matters more than client delivery.

3. Kajabi: worth the premium for course sellers?

Kajabi is the polished, expensive option. It combines courses, community, website, funnels and email for selling knowledge products, and it suits coaches whose business has shifted toward courses and memberships.

The Kajabi homepage promoting its platform for selling courses, communities and coaching
Kajabi's homepage in October 2026.

Plans as listed in October 2026: Basic at $179 a month ($143 a month billed annually) for 5 products, 2,500 contacts, 1 community, 1 website, 2 admin users and no AI credits; Growth at $249 a month ($199 annually) for 50 products, 25,000 contacts and 11 admin users; Pro at $499 a month ($399 annually) for unlimited products, 100,000 contacts and 3 communities. The standard trial is 14 days, and some features such as bulk contact import, test emails and some automations stay locked until a paid plan starts.

Fees deserve a look. Kajabi Payments in the US charges 2.9% + $0.30 on Basic, 2.8% + $0.30 on Growth and 2.7% + $0.30 on Pro. If you use a processor other than Kajabi Payments or PayPal, Kajabi adds its own 2% on Basic, 1% on Growth or 0.5% on Pro on top of the provider's fees.

For coaching, Kajabi sells products and communities rather than per-client plans. There is no habit tracking or daily client check-in, so accountability between calls sits elsewhere. Kajabi's Trustpilot score was 3.4 from 2,347 reviews in October 2026. Our Kajabi alternatives article covers who leaves it and why.

Pick it over Coachful if... courses and memberships are your main income, you have the budget, and a polished storefront for products and communities matters more to you than built-in client accountability.

4. Paperbell: the simplest way to sell 1:1 packages?

Paperbell is a coaching admin tool, not an email platform, and that is exactly why some Kit users end up there. It handles the part Kit cannot: a coach sells a package, the client books, signs and pays, and both sides see the history in a client portal.

The Paperbell homepage describing its coaching website, scheduling and payments
Paperbell's homepage in October 2026.

Paperbell has a single paid tier. When last verified on October 17, 2026, it was listed at $97 a month or $970 a year, per coach, with unlimited clients and sessions and a 0% platform fee (Stripe or PayPal processing applies). Its pricing page refused our request on October 25, 2026, so confirm the current figure before you buy. Its help center describes a 7-day trial, and paid plans carry a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Booking includes time-zone detection, gaps between appointments, reminders and calendar sync with Google, Apple/iCal and Outlook. Contracts with e-signature are tied to package purchase. Payments support subscriptions, payment plans, coupons and setup fees, plus PayPal, which Coachful does not offer. You also get a branded coaching website with landing pages and group coaching for workshops and live classes.

The limits are on the marketing and accountability side. Paperbell sends reminders and post-appointment emails but is not a marketing autoresponder, so most coaches keep Kit or another email tool next to it. There are no funnels, no community, no habit tracking, no client goal tracking (reviewers mention this), no team accounts, and no standalone mobile app; clients use the mobile browser. See our Paperbell alternatives for the coaches who outgrow it.

Pick it over Coachful if... you only sell 1:1 packages, want unlimited clients at one fixed price, need PayPal at checkout, and are happy to keep a separate newsletter tool.

5. Practice Better: when do wellness practitioners need it?

Practice Better is practice management software for nutrition and wellness practitioners. It belongs here for one reason: health coaches who leave Kit sometimes need clinical-style workflows that neither Kit nor a coaching platform provides.

The Practice Better homepage promoting practice management software for wellness practitioners
Practice Better's homepage in October 2026.

As listed on its pricing page on October 25, 2026: Sprout is free for 3 clients and one practitioner; Starter is $35 a month ($25 billed annually) for 10 clients; Professional is $69 a month ($59 annually) for 300 clients and adds group scheduling, fixed-date programs, payment plans and Zapier; Plus is $99 a month ($89 annually) for unlimited clients, evergreen programs, portal branding and 750 SMS reminders; Team is $155 a month ($145 annually) for two practitioners plus $50 for each additional one. Paid plans have a 14-day trial; Team gets 30 days. Add-ons include an AI charting assistant from $10 a month per practitioner.

Practice Better includes built-in telehealth from the client portal, food and lifestyle journaling with daily targets, invoices, superbills and insurance claim exports, and a client portal on web, iOS and Android. Programs come with modules, email sequences, media and quizzes. Practice Better Payments runs on Stripe; processing fees are not listed on the pricing page.

What it lacks for a Kit user: there is no website builder (you embed booking widgets in another site), no landing page or funnel builder, and email marketing is limited to lead magnets and email-only programs. Expect to keep an email tool and a website. Our Practice Better alternatives and the health coach page explain where coaching ends and clinical software begins.

Pick it over Coachful if... you are a licensed practitioner or work under one, and you need HIPAA-oriented telehealth, superbills or insurance billing, which Coachful does not offer.

6. MailerLite: a cheaper Kit for email-first coaches?

If your answers to the checklist said "email is the product", MailerLite is the closest like-for-like Kit replacement on this list, at a lower price for small lists. It covers campaigns, automations, landing pages, sign-up forms and a simple website.

We fetched MailerLite's pricing page on October 25, 2026. The Free plan gives you up to 250 subscribers, 2 user seats and 2,500 emails a month, with automations, a website and a landing page. Comfort starts at $12 a month for 500 subscribers and is listed at $19 a month for 1,000; it adds unlimited templates, dynamic emails, auto-resend, multivariate testing and an AI writing assistant, with a monthly send limit of ten times your subscriber tier. Power starts at $25 a month for 500 subscribers and $39 for 1,000, with unlimited monthly emails, unlimited automations and forms, digital products and appointment booking. Yearly billing takes about 10% off. New accounts get a 14-day trial of premium features with no credit card.

The booking feature is new and aimed at free and paid 1:1 or group calls. It does not give you client records, agreements, programs, check-ins or a client app, so a coach still needs somewhere to deliver the work. Compared with Kit, the gap that matters most is the free tier: Kit's free newsletter plan goes up to 10,000 subscribers, while MailerLite's stops at 250.

Pick it over Coachful if... you run a large list that rarely converts to sessions, want Kit-style automation at a lower monthly cost, and already have your client delivery handled elsewhere.

7. Flodesk: does design-first email suit coaches?

Flodesk earns its place for coaches whose brand is visual: wellness, lifestyle, creative and relationship coaches who want emails that look like their website. It is email marketing with forms, landing pages and a simple checkout for sales pages.

Flodesk's pricing page showing its plans and the subscriber slider
Flodesk's pricing page in October 2026.

Listed in October 2026: a Free plan with no subscriber limit but no email sending; Lite at $25 a month ($19 billed annually) with 1 seat, topping out at 25,000 subscribers; Pro at $28 a month ($25 annually) with a slider up to 255,000 and 2 seats; and Everything at $54 a month ($49 annually) with 3 seats. All three paid prices are base prices for up to 1,000 subscribers. The trial is 14 days without a card. Checkout payments run through Stripe at 3% + $0.30 for US, Canadian, Australian and New Zealand accounts on Stripe Express, and checkout is only supported in the US, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand and euro-area countries.

Flodesk has no scheduling, client records, course portal, community or check-ins. It replaces Kit and nothing else. Its Trustpilot score was 4.8 from 321 reviews in October 2026. For the wider question of where email sits in a coaching stack, see our email marketing for coaches page.

Pick it over Coachful if... design is the deciding factor, you sell a few digital products from simple pages, and your sessions, payments and programs already run in another tool you like.

How do the seven compare feature by feature?

The matrix below sticks to what each vendor documents. "Partial" means the feature exists in a limited form described in the section above.

"Not listed" means the vendor material we used does not document the feature; check with the vendor if it matters to you. Kajabi sells coaching as products rather than per-client plans, which is why its booking cell reads "Not per client".

What do the Kit alternatives cost at 5, 15 and 40 clients?

Costs differ most at the small end, where a single tool is cheap but the stack around it is not. The table assumes an example practice with a list of about 1,000 subscribers at every client count. It shows monthly list prices; card processing is extra everywhere.

Tool5 clients15 clients40 clientsWhat you still need to add
CoachfulLite: $29/month for up to 5 clientsSolo: $49/month for up to 20 clientsPro: $99/month with unlimited clientsNothing for email, booking, payments, programs, courses or community

Flodesk Lite$25 ($19 annual)$25 ($19 annual)$25 ($19 annual)Scheduler, contracts, client portal, course host

Read the last column before the price columns. A $19 email plan looks cheap until you add a scheduler, an e-signature tool, a course host and a community app, each with its own login and bill. Paperbell's figure is from its pricing page as of October 17, 2026. Kit's paid prices scale with subscriber count, so a list of 3,000 costs more than the starting figure.

To estimate your own number, list every tool you pay for today, add the monthly totals, and compare against one platform that covers the same jobs. Our Kit pricing guide has the subscriber-count detail.

What are the red flags and switching costs when you leave Kit?

The biggest switching cost is rebuilding automations, not moving contacts. Kit exports subscribers, all or a segment, to CSV from the dashboard, per its help center. Visual automations, sequences, rules and form logic do not travel with that file. Plan to rebuild each one.

Watch for these before you commit:

  • Fees hidden behind the plan price. Kit Commerce takes 3.5% + $0.30 per sale. Kajabi adds up to 2% if you use a non-Kajabi processor. As an example, 2% on a $1,500 package is $30 per sale. Check the fee page, not just the plan grid.
  • Free tiers that do not send. Flodesk's free plan cannot send email, and MailerLite's free plan stops at 250 subscribers. If you are moving a 4,000-person list, the free tier is not your landing spot.
  • Client limits that bite mid-launch. Practice Better's Starter plan holds 10 clients; a successful cohort can push you up a tier in a week. Coachful's lower plans also cap clients, so pick the plan for where you will be in six months.
  • Payment processor lock-in. If a vendor's checkout uses its own processor, moving later means moving every active subscription. Platforms that run on your own Stripe account keep that relationship yours.
  • Running two tools at once. Keep Kit active until your new welcome sequence has run end to end at least once with a test subscriber. Cancelling first and rebuilding later leaves new leads with no follow-up.
  • Health data in the wrong place. If you collect medical history, neither an email tool nor a coaching platform without a BAA is the right home for it. Keep intake questions to coaching goals, and refer clinical questions out.

A sensible order for the move: export your Kit subscribers and tags, rebuild your lead magnet form and welcome sequence first, then your booking and checkout pages, then any long nurture sequences. In Coachful, clients, programs and content are imported for you during onboarding, and the white-glove team can rebuild a funnel or email sequence from your old copy. For contracts specifically, see our page on coaching contracts.

What is the verdict on Kit alternatives for coaches?

Kit is a good newsletter tool, and if the newsletter is your business, MailerLite or Flodesk are the closest swaps, with Kit's own free tier still hard to beat for large lists. For coaches who use email to fill sessions and programs, swapping one email tool for another fixes the smallest part of the problem.

Coachful is our pick because it does Kit's job and the rest of the client journey in one place: sequences and funnels bring people in, booking, agreements and payments convert them, and programs, habits, check-ins and community keep them engaged between sessions, all under one login and one bill. Systeme.io is the budget runner-up for funnel-led businesses. Kajabi suits course sellers with budget. Paperbell and Practice Better are strong for 1:1 packages and clinical-adjacent wellness work, respectively.

Coachful in brief: a coaching platform for coaches who deliver programs, from solo practices to small teams. It does not offer HIPAA coverage, PayPal or a permanent free plan, only a free trial. To start, take the free trial and request the free white-glove build for your site, funnel or first sequence. If you also run group programs, our group coaching software page and the course platform page show those parts in more depth.

Frequently asked questions about Kit alternatives

What is the best Kit alternative for coaches?

For coaches who sell sessions or programs, Coachful is our pick because it combines email sequences and funnels with booking, payments, agreements and program delivery. For coaches whose business is the newsletter itself, MailerLite or Flodesk are closer like-for-like swaps. Run the five-question checklist above to see which side you are on.

Is there a free Kit alternative?

Systeme.io has a free plan that never expires, with 2,000 contacts and one email campaign, as listed in October 2026. MailerLite's free plan covers up to 250 subscribers and 2,500 emails a month. Flodesk's free plan does not send email. Kit's own free newsletter plan covers up to 10,000 subscribers, which is more generous than any of these.

Can I move my Kit subscribers to another platform?

Yes. Kit exports all subscribers or a segment to CSV from the dashboard, according to its help center. Contacts and tags move easily; automations, sequences and form logic must be rebuilt in the new tool.

Does Coachful replace Kit's email sequences?

Coachful includes email lists, broadcasts and multi-step sequences with triggers, delays, branching and A/B splits, plus lead-magnet funnels. It does not list an equivalent of Kit's Creator Network or paid newsletter subscriptions, so newsletter-first creators should check those needs first.

What is Coachful's free white-glove service?

It is a build service included on every plan. You describe what you want, such as a website, funnel, email sequence or program, attach up to 8 links and 10 files, and the Coachful team builds it inside your account, usually within about 24 hours. It does not include recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing.

Which Kit alternative has the lowest transaction fees?

Systeme.io and Paperbell charge 0% platform fees, and Coachful has charged a 0% platform fee since August 2026, so you pay only your processor's rate. Kit Commerce charges 3.5% + $0.30 per USD transaction all-in. Kajabi adds a platform fee if you use a processor other than Kajabi Payments or PayPal.

Is Kit good for coaches at all?

Kit is good at email: forms, landing pages, broadcasts and, on paid plans, sequences and visual automations. It is not built for coaching delivery, with no scheduling, client records, course portal, community or check-ins. Many coaches keep Kit and add other tools, which is the stack this article helps you compare.

Can health coaches use these tools for client health information?

Coaching is not treatment, so keep intake focused on goals and refer medical questions to a licensed clinician. Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and does not sign a BAA. Practice Better offers HIPAA-compliant telehealth and insurance-oriented features, which makes it the better fit when you work in a clinical setting.

How long does switching from Kit take?

It depends on how many sequences and forms you have. A practical approach is to rebuild the welcome sequence and lead magnet first, test them, then move booking, checkout and longer sequences, keeping Kit active until the new flow has run once end to end. A done-for-you build service shortens the rebuild.
