The 10 Best Planoly Alternatives for Coaches, Compared

The 10 Best Planoly Alternatives for Coaches, Compared

The best planoly alternatives for coaches depend on one question: do you only need to plan and publish posts, or do you need the posts to turn into booked calls, paying clients and finished programs? Planoly is a good visual planner with a link-in-bio store attached. It was never built to run coaching itself: there are no structured programs, session notes or client portal in what Planoly documents. If your posts already sell and the rest of your business lives in three other tools, the right replacement is the one that closes that gap without adding a fourth login.

Our pick is Coachful, because it puts a social planner in the same place as your booking pages, payments, agreements, programs, community and email, so a follower can go from your caption to your client app without changing systems. We make Coachful, so we have tried to be specific about where Planoly and the other nine tools here do a better job. If all you want is a cheaper or prettier Instagram grid, a pure scheduler such as Later, Buffer or Metricool may serve you better, and we say so in each section.

This guide ranks ten tools by the situation each one wins, lists prices as the vendors publish them, and ends with three real stack examples so you can compare total monthly cost rather than one subscription in isolation.

What do coaches actually need from a Planoly replacement?

Coaches need a planner that feeds a sales path, not just a feed. A wedding photographer or a candle shop can measure Instagram by likes and store sales. A coach measures it by discovery calls booked, applications received and clients who stay through week twelve of a program. That changes what the tool has to do.

  • Turn content into conversations. A coach's best post usually ends with "book a free call" or "apply for the next cohort". The link behind it needs a booking page with your real availability, intake questions and reminders, not a generic storefront.
  • Carry the client after the sale. Planoly's Creator Store can sell a paid 1:1 consultation or a course, and its CRM can send email flows. What happens next, the weekly check-in, the habit you assigned, the notes from session three, is not something Planoly describes. Coaches who sell programs need that layer somewhere.
  • Agreements before the first call. Coaching relationships start with a coaching agreement that sets scope, cancellation and confidentiality. A link-in-bio store does not send one for signature.
  • Post on the networks coaches use. Many coaches sell on LinkedIn and Instagram, with YouTube for longer teaching. Planoly auto-posts to Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, Threads and Pinterest, but X is reminder-only.
  • Keep total cost sensible. A planner at $16 a month looks cheap until you add a scheduler for calls, a contract tool, a course host and an email platform. The bill that matters is the stack.

Planoly still does several things very well. Its grid preview is the reason many coaches signed up, its Instagram auto-DMs answer comment keywords on every paid plan, it publishes to TikTok and Pinterest, and Planoly takes no cut of Creator Store sales. If you leave, you should know what you are giving up.

As listed in October 2026, Planoly Starter is $16 a month billed monthly or $14 a month billed annually, with one Social Set and one user. Growth is $28 or $24 with two Social Sets and two users, and Pro is $55 or $47 with six of each. The free plan lives in the mobile app and allows 10 uploads a month. All paid plans include a 14-day free trial. On Trustpilot, Planoly showed 3.2 from 61 reviews when we checked on 28 October 2026.

Thinking of launching your coaching business?

Answer a few questions and Coachful builds it around you: your website, programs, booking and payments. Ready in minutes.

Build your platform

How did we choose and rank these tools?

We started from the jobs a coach hands to Planoly today: planning posts, auto-publishing, writing captions, a link-in-bio page, selling a call or a download, and following up by email. Then we added the jobs that come after a follower becomes a client, because that is where most coaches end up buying extra software.

  • One login for the whole client journey. Can a post, a booking, a payment, an agreement and the program itself live in one account?
  • Between-session delivery. Does the tool give clients somewhere to do the work: tasks, habits, check-ins, lessons, a community?
  • Total stack cost. We priced what a coach would actually pay once the missing pieces are added.
  • Setup effort. How long until it is live, and will someone build it with you?
  • Social coverage. Which networks auto-publish, and which are reminder-only or missing.

Vendor facts come from each vendor's own pricing and help pages. Planoly, Later, Buffer, Metricool and Hootsuite prices are as listed in October 2026; Paperbell and Practice Better prices were verified in October 2026; Stan Store, Systeme.io and Kajabi prices come from our September 2026 research. We have not run hands-on tests of each tool, so where we mention user experience, we say what public reviewers report. Ratings are from Trustpilot unless stated.

1. Coachful: best overall when your posts need to become clients

Coachful wins when social media is your front door and coaching is the house behind it. You plan and publish posts, a follower taps your link, books or buys, signs your agreement, and then works through your program inside your branded client app. All of that happens in one account, with one login for you and one app for the client.

Coachful is a coaching platform. One subscription covers booking, payments, contracts, program delivery with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant. It is built for coaches who deliver programs rather than single sessions, solo coaches growing into a small team, and coaches replacing four to six tools.

The social planner, and what it covers

You will find it under Sell, then How you reach them, then Social planner. Michelle, Coachful's built-in AI assistant, helps with post ideas and captions, and you schedule and publish to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Threads and YouTube from one calendar. Each network publishes separately, so if one fails you get a notification and can retry that network alone. X publishes directly, which Planoly only handles as a reminder.

Be clear about the gaps. Coachful does not publish to TikTok or Pinterest, it has no social analytics dashboard, and there is no unified social inbox. A visual grid preview like Planoly's is not part of what Coachful documents. If those are central to your growth, keep a dedicated scheduler alongside it or choose one of the tools further down.

Where the link in your bio goes

This is the part Planoly cannot match. Your bio link can point to a Coachful funnel: a booking funnel for discovery calls, an application funnel for a cohort, a lead-magnet funnel for a free guide, or a checkout. About 25 funnel templates are included, along with pixel and UTM tracking, and there is also a link-in-bio page that sells. The section-based website builder adds a blog, custom domain, SEO settings and 30 designed homepage templates. See our website builder for coaches for more.

Booking pages follow availability rules, buffers, minimum notice and time-zone detection, with two-way Google, Apple and Outlook calendar sync. Sessions get built-in video or auto-created Zoom, Meet or Teams links, plus email reminders and, once messaging is enabled, SMS 24 hours before and WhatsApp one hour before. Intake questions appear on the booking form, so the call starts with context.

Payments run through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account: one-time, subscriptions, payment plans, order bumps, coupons, refunds, Apple Pay and Google Pay, with an invoice per transaction. Coachful charges a 0% platform fee, so you pay only the processor. A coaching agreement with e-signature goes out before the first call and is stored on the client record.

What clients get after they buy

Planoly's job ends at checkout. Coachful's starts there. Clients land in your branded home and app, where multi-week programs give them weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, progress bars and streaks. Courses with drip and completion tracking, downloads, events and bundles live in the same place. Program enrollment creates a cohort group automatically, with a community feed, group chat and video events. More than 40 ready-to-film program templates and 48 course templates help you start.

A demo client's Programs view: an enrolled group program, its current week and its members.

On your side, each client record holds goals, check-ins, habits, notes, intake answers, payments and sessions, with a status of thriving, active, quiet or at risk. Michelle briefs you before sessions and can summarize recorded ones. Email lists, broadcasts and multi-step sequences with branching and A/B splits replace the email side of Planoly's CRM. If you work toward an ICF credential, Coachful counts your hours and distinct clients against ACC, PCC and MCC thresholds. All of this is included in your Coachful membership; confirmed AI builds use AI credits.

Here is a short walkthrough of how funnels are built in Coachful:

Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. From Create, then "We'll build it for you · FREE", you describe what you want and the Coachful team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours. That can be a website, a funnel for your bio link, a sales page, a program, a course outline, an email sequence or a link-in-bio page. You can attach up to 8 reference links and 10 files, such as your logo, brand guide or the captions that already convert. Nothing gets invented: no fake testimonials, credentials or prices, and gaps are left for you to fill. A leadership coach with a Squarespace renewal days away got one clean homepage with a repeated "talk with me" button; a business mentor for beauty professionals got a 12-week mentorship sales page, a free start-up guide funnel and rewritten follow-up emails. Read more about the free white-glove service.

What Coachful does not do. Beyond the social gaps above, Coachful is not HIPAA-certified, has no PayPal checkout (Planoly's Creator Store supports PayPal), no permanent free plan, and no Salesforce or HubSpot integration. The client app carries your branding inside the Coachful app rather than your own App Store listing. Coachful showed 4.5 from 21 reviews on Trustpilot.

Price: flat monthly plans; lower plans cap clients, Pro is unlimited, and monthly plans cancel in one click (current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients).

2. Later: closest match if the visual grid is why you chose Planoly

When a coach tells us the grid preview is the one Planoly feature they cannot live without, Later is the obvious place to look. It is a social media scheduler with a visual Instagram grid planner, and it publishes to Instagram, Facebook Pages, Threads, Pinterest, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube (Shorts only) and Snapchat.

Later homepage promoting social media scheduling
Later's homepage in October 2026.

For a coach, Later's appeal is familiarity. You drag posts into a grid, see how your carousel of client wins sits next to your teaching reels, and schedule ahead. Every plan includes a Link in Bio page that can collect email sign-ups into Mailchimp or a CSV file, so a "free guide" post can capture leads without a separate landing page. Starter and above remove Later branding from that page.

As listed in October 2026, Later's Free plan allows 12 posts per profile per month with no platform analytics and no Instagram carousel or Stories scheduling. Starter is $25 a month ($18.75 billed annually) with one Social Set of up to 8 profiles, 30 posts per profile per month and 5 AI credits. Growth is $50 ($37.50 annually) with two users and 180 posts per profile, and Scale is $110 ($82.50 annually). Paid trials last 14 days and require a card.

The trade-offs matter for coaches. X support ended in August 2025, so if you post threads there, Later is not the answer. The Social Inbox for Instagram and Facebook comments and DMs starts on Growth. Starter's 30 posts per profile per month is enough for one post a day, not much more. Later does not process payments, so the Creator Store side of Planoly has no equivalent here; you would need a separate checkout and booking tool. On Trustpilot, Later showed 1.4 from 352 reviews when checked on 28 October 2026, a score that suggests reading recent reviews before committing to annual billing.

Compared with Planoly Starter at $16 a month, Later Starter costs more and does less on the selling side. Its case rests on the planner, the extra networks such as Snapchat, and analytics history on paid plans.

Pick it over Coachful if your coaching business already runs smoothly somewhere else, the grid aesthetic drives your Instagram growth, and you want TikTok and Pinterest publishing that Coachful does not offer.

3. Buffer: the budget choice for LinkedIn-first coaches

Executive, career and business coaches who sell on LinkedIn rather than Instagram often get the most from Buffer. It publishes to more networks than anyone else in this list: Instagram, Facebook Pages, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, YouTube Shorts, Threads, Pinterest, Google Business Profile, Bluesky, Mastodon and Substack.

Buffer homepage promoting its social media publishing tool
Buffer's homepage in October 2026.

Buffer prices per channel, which suits a coach with a narrow presence. As listed in October 2026, Essentials costs $6 per channel per month, or $5 billed annually, so a coach on LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook pays $18 a month, or $15 on yearly billing. The Team plan is $12 per channel ($10 annually) and adds unlimited team members, useful if a virtual assistant writes your drafts. Rates fall above 10 channels.

The Free plan covers up to three channels with 10 scheduled posts per channel at any one time, and a slot refills when a post publishes. For a coach posting three times a week on LinkedIn, that may be all the scheduler you ever pay for. Paid trials last 14 days, and if you add no payment details, the account drops back to Free. Start Page, a simple link-in-bio page, is on every plan, though it counts as a channel.

Buffer is a scheduler and nothing more. It does not take payments, book calls or deliver anything to clients. Instagram personal profiles and Facebook groups are reminder-only, which matters if you run a free Facebook group as your lead source. There is no visual grid planner of the kind Planoly is known for. Trustpilot showed 4.2 from 146 reviews on 28 October 2026, the strongest score among the pure schedulers here.

For a coaching business, the practical setup is Buffer for posts plus a separate tool for everything after the click. That second tool is where the real cost and effort sit, so price both before switching.

Pick it over Coachful if you need Bluesky, Google Business Profile, Substack or Pinterest publishing, or you want a near-free scheduler and already have your booking, payments and client delivery handled elsewhere.

4. Metricool: for coaches who want numbers on every post

Metricool suits the coach who reads analytics before writing the next caption. It combines planning, publishing and reporting, and connects Instagram, Facebook, Threads, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, Bluesky, Google Business Profile, Twitch and, on paid plans, LinkedIn. It can also pull in a website or blog and Facebook, Google and TikTok ads accounts.

Metricool homepage promoting social media planning and analytics
Metricool's homepage in October 2026.

As listed in October 2026, the Free plan is "free, forever" with one brand, 20 scheduled posts a month and 30 days of analytics, but no LinkedIn or X. Starter for up to 5 brands costs $25 a month ($20 annually), with unlimited publishing under a fair-use policy, unlimited analytics history and 20 AI credits per brand. A 10-brand Starter is $45 ($36 annually). Advanced plans start at $67 ($53 annually) for 15 brands and add unlimited team members. X is only available through a $10 monthly add-on.

The analytics are where Metricool beats Planoly for a coach trying to understand which content books calls. Unlimited history on paid plans lets you compare this launch with the last one. SmartLinks, its link-in-bio page, is on every plan, and Flows can automate Instagram comment-to-DM and keyword DM replies on paid plans, the closest equivalent to Planoly's auto-DMs in this list.

The limits are the familiar ones. Metricool does not sell anything, book anything or host clients. Its brand-based pricing is designed for agencies and social managers, so a solo coach pays for capacity they may not use. There is no standard paid-plan trial; the Free plan stands in for one, and it excludes LinkedIn, which is where many coaches would want to test it. Trustpilot showed 4.1 from 690 reviews on 28 October 2026.

Metricool can also tell you which of your posts drove website visits, which helps if your link points to a booking page somewhere else. It cannot tell you which of those visitors became clients, because that data lives in your coaching tool.

Pick it over Coachful if post-level analytics, ads reporting and Instagram DM automation are the core of your marketing, and you are happy to run client work in a separate platform.

5. Paperbell: simple 1:1 package sales behind your bio link

The situation Paperbell wins is narrow and common: a solo coach whose Instagram posts sell 1:1 coaching packages and who wants the checkout, scheduling, contract and payment to happen in a single step. Paperbell is a coaching admin tool rather than a social planner, so you would keep a scheduler (or Planoly itself) for posting.

Paperbell homepage promoting coaching business software
Paperbell's homepage in October 2026.

As listed in October 2026, Paperbell has one paid tier at $97 a month, or $970 a year, per coach, with unlimited clients and sessions and a 0% platform fee. Payments go through Stripe or PayPal. Its help center describes a 7-day trial, and paid plans carry a 30-day money-back guarantee. Extra accounts for the same company get 15% off.

For a coach leaving Planoly's Creator Store, the useful pieces are a branded coaching website with a custom URL, built-in booking with time-zone detection and Google, Apple and Outlook sync, e-signature contracts tied to package purchase, intake forms, SMS reminders, Zoom links and a client portal with history, shared notes and messaging. Reviewers consistently praise how simple it feels.

Where it stops: Paperbell has no habit tracking, daily check-ins or goal tracking, no community, no funnels and only partial course features. It is one coach per account, with no native mobile app. Reviewers report outgrowing it once they added courses or group programs. Its FAQ states it is not HIPAA compliant. On Trustpilot it showed 3.9 from 13 reviews in our September 2026 research, while Capterra and G2 scores are higher.

Paired with Planoly Starter, Paperbell gives you a $113-a-month stack on monthly billing that covers posting and 1:1 sales well and leaves program delivery uncovered. For a closer look at the trade-offs, see our Paperbell alternatives roundup.

Pick it over Coachful if you only sell 1:1 packages, never plan to run courses, cohorts or habit-based programs, and you need PayPal at checkout.

Build your platform

6. Stan Store: swapping only Planoly's Creator Store

Some coaches like Planoly's planner and only want out of the Creator Store. Stan Store is the most direct replacement for that half. It is a link-in-bio creator store for digital downloads, courses, webinars, memberships and paid calls, and its setup is widely described by reviewers as quick.

From our September 2026 research, the Creator plan costs $29 a month ($25 billed annually) with unlimited products and customers, and the Creator Pro plan costs $99 a month ($79 annually). Pro adds email marketing flows and broadcasts, upsells, order bumps, discount codes and an affiliate program. There is a 14-day trial of Creator, and Stan states a 0% platform fee, with Stripe or PayPal processing on top.

For coaches, the good news is that a mini-course, a workbook download and a paid 30-minute call can all sit on one page your followers already know how to use. Trustpilot showed 4.7 from 2,156 reviews in that research, the largest review base here.

The bad news is everything after the sale. Stan has no contracts, invoices, intake forms, client records or client portal, and no structured programs with tasks, habits or check-ins. Email marketing, which Planoly includes in its CRM on every paid plan, sits behind the $99 Pro tier. Some reviewers report delayed payouts, surprise charges after the trial and slow support, so read recent reviews before you move your income there.

Pairing Planoly Starter at $16 with Stan Creator at $29 gives a $45-a-month setup that covers posting and selling, with no client delivery. We compare it with other store builders in our Stan Store alternatives for business coaches guide.

Pick it over Coachful if you sell mostly low-priced digital products to a large audience, coach rarely, and want PayPal and the simplest possible storefront.

7. Practice Better: for nutrition and wellness practitioners

Practice Better earns its place for one group: dietitians, nutritionists and functional health practitioners who use Instagram to attract clients and then need clinical-style charting. It is practice management software, not a social tool, so it replaces the client side of your stack while a scheduler handles posts.

Practice Better homepage promoting practice management for wellness professionals
Practice Better's homepage in October 2026.

As listed in October 2026, the free Sprout plan covers 3 clients. Starter is $35 a month ($25 annually) for 10 clients, with scheduling, telehealth, billing, messaging, a client portal and forms. Professional is $69 ($59 annually) for 300 clients and adds group scheduling, fixed-date programs, payment plans and Zapier. Plus is $99 ($89 annually) for unlimited clients, evergreen programs, portal branding and SMS. Team starts at $155 ($145 annually) for two practitioners. Starter, Professional and Plus have a 14-day trial; Team has 30 days.

Its strengths are clinical: SOAP and other note formats, food and lifestyle journaling with nutrient detail, protocols, labs, and Apple Health, Fitbit, Garmin and Oura sync. Coachful offers none of those device syncs, so if you rely on wearable data, that is a real difference.

The limits fall on the marketing side. Practice Better has no website builder or funnel pages, so your bio link points to a separate site. Evergreen programs, branding and SMS start on Plus, and add-ons can raise the bill. Capterra reviewers mention a learning curve and slow ticket-based support.

A note on scope: coaching is not medical treatment. If you diagnose, treat or keep clinical records, use a HIPAA-ready clinical system and refer clients with medical symptoms to a doctor. Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and is not meant for clinical records. See our Practice Better alternatives for holistic health coaches for the coaching side of this choice.

Pick it over Coachful if you are a licensed practitioner who needs charting, food journals, wearable data or insurance-related features, and marketing is a smaller part of your week.

8. Systeme.io: the lowest-cost funnel and email stack

The situation Systeme.io wins is a coach starting with almost no budget who wants funnels, email and a course behind their posts. It is a marketing platform with sales funnels, email automation, courses, a community, a blog and a booking page, and it does not schedule social posts, so it pairs with Planoly's or Buffer's free plan.

From our September 2026 research, Systeme.io's Free plan allows 2,000 contacts, 3 funnels, 1 course, 1 community, 1 blog and a custom domain, with unlimited emails and a 0% platform fee. Startup is $17 a month ($14.17 annually) for 5,000 contacts and unlimited funnels. Webinar is $47 ($39.17 annually), and Unlimited is $97 ($80.83 annually) with a free migration service. Trustpilot showed 4.9 from 8,424 reviews.

For a coach, the attraction is a free lead-magnet funnel from day one: a post offers a guide, the funnel captures the email, and a sequence invites the reader to a call. An affiliate program is built in, which Planoly does not offer.

The weak spots: reviewers on Capterra call the page editor clunky. Courses and community are basic, with no app. There are no coaching agreements, habit tracking or client check-ins, so one-to-one and program clients still need another home. Contact exports expire after three days.

With Buffer's free plan for posts, a coach can run a working funnel for $17 a month. The cost arrives later, in time spent stitching tools together when clients start buying programs.

Pick it over Coachful if your budget is close to zero, you think in funnels and evergreen webinars, and you are prepared to add client-delivery tools later.

9. Kajabi: for coaches whose content already sells courses at scale

Kajabi suits an established creator-coach whose audience buys courses and memberships in volume. It brings website, email, funnels, checkout, courses, communities and coaching sessions together on one contact record, with a branded mobile app on higher plans. It does not replace Planoly's scheduling, so you would keep a planner.

From our September 2026 research, Basic costs $179 a month ($143 annually) with 5 products, 2,500 contacts, 1 community and 2 admin users. Growth costs $249 a month ($199 annually) with 50 products, 25,000 contacts, 11 admin users, affiliates and a branded mobile app. Kajabi's pricing page offered a free trial. Trustpilot showed 3.5 from 2,337 reviews.

Kajabi's coaching product includes a native scheduler, built-in live video, session notes and milestone programs, which goes further than most course platforms. For a coach with a large Instagram audience and several courses, one Kajabi account can replace Planoly's Creator Store, its CRM and your course host.

The costs are the issue. Kajabi's January 2026 restructure raised prices, cut Basic contacts from 10,000 to 2,500 and added a surcharge when you use a third-party payment processor. Reviewers on Trustpilot complain about AI-first support and cancellation trouble. Habits, check-ins and client progress dashboards are not its focus.

Compared with Planoly's $16 starting price, Kajabi is a different budget category. Read our Kajabi alternatives for life coaches for the full picture.

Pick it over Coachful if courses and memberships are most of your revenue, you need many admin users, and a high monthly bill is already covered by sales.

10. Hootsuite: when a team manages many brands

Hootsuite wins only in one coaching scenario: a coaching company or agency with several people posting for several brands, which needs approval workflows, a unified inbox and competitor benchmarking. For a solo coach it is far more than Planoly replaces.

Hootsuite homepage promoting its social media management suite
Hootsuite's homepage in October 2026.

As listed in October 2026, Standard costs $149 per user per month, or $99 billed annually, with up to 10 social accounts, 100 AI credits and unlimited scheduled posts. Professional is $299 ($199 annually) with unlimited accounts, and Advanced is $499 ($399 annually). Enterprise is priced by quote. There is no free plan; the 14-day trial needs no card and caps daily posts.

It connects Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, Threads, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, Bluesky and Google Business Profile, plus WhatsApp messages in the inbox. Every plan includes Hootbio, a link-in-bio page, and a unified inbox for comments and DMs. DM automations start on Professional.

Hootsuite has no booking calendar, checkout or client delivery. Trustpilot showed 1.3 from 556 reviews on 28 October 2026, the lowest score here, so test the trial thoroughly.

For a coaching firm with a marketing team, though, the inbox and benchmarking can justify the price. Each person who needs access is a separate seat, so a three-person team on Standard pays $447 a month on monthly billing before any coaching software.

Pick it over Coachful if you run a marketing team across many brands and accounts, and your coaching delivery already has a separate platform.

How do the features compare side by side?

The matrix below puts Planoly in for reference. "Partial" means the feature exists in a limited form or on higher plans only.

The pattern is clear. Schedulers publish to more networks than Coachful but stop at the link. Coaching admin tools handle clients but do not post. Coachful is the only tool here that does both, at the cost of TikTok, Pinterest and analytics.

What does a full stack cost? Three example stacks

The fairest comparison is the whole bill. These example stacks use monthly billing and exclude payment processing fees. Client numbers matter because some tools cap clients and others do not.

Stack A suits a 1:1 coach who wants to keep Planoly's grid and add proper coaching admin. It is $16 for Planoly Starter plus $97 for Paperbell, and the price holds as you grow because Paperbell has unlimited clients. You manage two logins and two client lists.

Stack B is the cheapest way to post, sell and email: $18 for three Buffer channels, $29 for Stan Store Creator and $17 for Systeme.io Startup. It is three logins, three customer lists and no place for client work after the sale.

Stack C fits a nutrition coach: $25 for Later Starter plus $35 for Practice Better Starter while you have up to 10 clients, rising to $69 for Professional once you pass 10. You still need a website.

The Coachful row is one login covering posting to six networks, booking, payments, agreements, programs, community and email. If you need TikTok or Pinterest, adding Buffer's free plan alongside covers them.

How would a coach set up the switch from Planoly to Coachful?

Here is how a mindset coach who posts four times a week on Instagram and LinkedIn and sells a 12-week program could move over. The details are an example; adjust them to your own offer.

  1. Export what you have. Download any analytics reports you want to keep from Planoly, and export or copy your Creator Store customer list. Planoly documents contact CSV import, but a buyer export is not documented, so check your Stripe or PayPal dashboard for customer records.
  2. Request the build. In Coachful, open Create, then "We'll build it for you · FREE". Describe your 12-week program, attach your brand guide and the three captions that convert best, and ask for an application funnel plus a lead-magnet funnel. Clients, programs and content are imported for you during onboarding.
  3. Connect payments and calendar. Link your Stripe account, sync Google, Apple or Outlook, and set availability, buffers and minimum notice for discovery calls.
  4. Write the agreement. Add your coaching agreement so it goes out for e-signature before the first call. Our coaching contracts page explains the options.
  5. Build the program. Set weekly goals, daily tasks and a morning and evening check-in. The cohort group is created automatically when the first client enrolls.
  6. Connect your social accounts. In Sell, then How you reach them, then Social planner, connect Instagram and LinkedIn, ask Michelle for a month of post ideas from your program themes, and schedule them.
  7. Change your bio link. Point it to the new application funnel or link-in-bio page. Run both setups for a week, then cancel Planoly once new bookings come through Coachful.

What mistakes should coaches avoid when leaving Planoly?

  • Replacing a planner with a planner. If your problem is that followers do not become clients, a prettier grid will not fix it. Look at what happens after the click.
  • Forgetting the auto-DMs. If Planoly's keyword DMs bring in leads, list which ones before you switch, and decide how each will be handled.
  • Losing buyers. Creator Store buyer export is not documented. Pull customer details from your payment processor before cancelling.
  • Ignoring network gaps. Later dropped X, Coachful does not publish to TikTok or Pinterest, and Metricool charges extra for X. Match the tool to where your clients actually find you.
  • Pricing one tool, not the stack. Add every subscription you will need for booking, agreements, email and delivery before comparing.
  • Cancelling an annual plan too early. Planoly's annual plans are billed upfront, and Later's paid plans start automatically after the trial. Check renewal dates first.

Which Planoly alternative should you choose?

If social media is how you find clients and coaching is how you earn, Coachful is the strongest replacement: it publishes to six networks and carries each follower through booking, payment, agreement and a full program in one login, with a free white-glove build to get you live. Choose Later if the visual grid is non-negotiable, Buffer if you post on LinkedIn and want a near-free scheduler, and Metricool if analytics drive your content. Paperbell and Practice Better are sensible when your client work is 1:1 packages or clinical nutrition respectively, Stan Store when you only want a new storefront, Systeme.io on a tiny budget, Kajabi for course-heavy businesses and Hootsuite for marketing teams.

Planoly remains a sound choice if you only need a planner with a store and your coaching already lives elsewhere. For more comparisons, browse our comparison hub or the guide to coaching software.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a Planoly alternative that also handles coaching clients?

Yes. Coachful includes a social planner that publishes to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Threads and YouTube, alongside booking, payments, agreements, programs, community and email. The schedulers in this list (Later, Buffer, Metricool, Hootsuite) do not handle clients at all.

What is the cheapest Planoly alternative for coaches?

Buffer's free plan covers three channels with 10 queued posts each, and Metricool and Later also have free plans with monthly limits. Planoly's own free plan in the mobile app allows 10 uploads a month. Remember that a free scheduler does not cover booking or payments.

Does Coachful have a visual Instagram grid like Planoly?

A grid preview is not part of what Coachful documents. Its social planner gives you AI help with ideas and captions and schedules posts on one calendar. If the grid is essential, Later is the closest match.

Can Coachful post to TikTok or Pinterest?

No. Coachful publishes to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Threads and YouTube. Planoly, Later, Buffer, Metricool and Hootsuite all publish to TikTok and Pinterest, so you can keep one of them for those networks.

What replaces Planoly's Creator Store?

Stan Store is the closest like-for-like storefront. For coaches, Coachful's funnels, checkout and link-in-bio page that sells cover the same products plus booking, agreements and program delivery. Paperbell covers 1:1 package sales.

What is Coachful's free white-glove service?

It is a build service on every plan. You describe what you want, such as a website, funnel, program or email sequence, attach references and files, and the Coachful team builds it in your account, usually within about 24 hours. It does not include video recording, logo design or ad management.

Does Planoly charge a fee on Creator Store sales?

No. Planoly says it takes no cut of Creator Store sales; Stripe or PayPal processing fees still apply. Coachful also charges a 0% platform fee, with only Stripe or Razorpay processing.

Is Coachful suitable for health coaches who keep clinical notes?

Coachful is not HIPAA-certified, so clinical records belong in a clinical system such as Practice Better. Coaching is not medical treatment; refer clients with medical symptoms to a doctor. Coachful suits the coaching side of the work: programs, habits, check-ins and community.

Can I try Coachful before moving off Planoly?

Yes, there is a free trial. Run both tools for a week, point your bio link at a Coachful funnel, and cancel Planoly once bookings arrive through Coachful.
