7 Best Coaching Software With a Client App (2026 Guide)

7 Best Coaching Software With a Client App (2026 Guide)

The best coaching software with a client app is the one your clients open on a Tuesday afternoon without being reminded. Booking screens and invoices matter, but a client app earns its place between sessions: the habit they tick off, the check-in they answer at night, the message they send when a week goes sideways, the program module waiting for them on the train. So the deciding question is simple. When a client picks up their iPhone or Android phone, does your software give them one place for everything you deliver, or a login for each tool you happen to pay for?

Our pick is Coachful. We make Coachful, so weigh that, but the reasoning is checkable: it is the only tool in this list where booking, payment, the coaching agreement, programs, habits, check-ins, courses, community and messaging all land in the same client app, with your branding inside it. One honest caveat up front: the Coachful client app carries your logo and colors inside the Coachful app on iPhone and Android. It is not a separate listing under your own name in the App Store. If an app under your own developer account matters more than everything else, Kajabi and Mighty Networks offer that on their top tiers, and we cover what it costs below.

This guide follows a client through four stages (attract, enroll, deliver, retain), shows which of seven tools covers each one, then ranks them, prices real stacks at 5, 15 and 40 clients, and ends with migration tips and a step-by-step setup.

What does a client need from your app at each stage of the journey?

A client needs something different at each of four stages, and most "client app" tools only serve one of them. Mapping the stages first stops you from buying a beautiful delivery app and then gluing on three more tools to get people into it.

Attract: before they are a client

At this stage the person does not have your app yet. They find a website, a lead magnet, a link in your bio or a free workshop. What matters for the app decision is whether the page they land on and the app they later use are the same system. If they are, the email address someone gives you for a free guide becomes the same record that later holds their goals and check-ins. If they are not, you are exporting CSV files between tools forever.

Enroll: the yes, the payment, the paperwork

Enrollment is where most drop-off happens. The client books a discovery call, says yes, pays, signs your coaching agreement and fills in an intake form. Ideally they do all of that once, and the next screen they see is their new home in the app with the first task waiting. Every extra login or "I'll send you a link" email between payment and first task is a chance for the momentum to fade. Our guide to onboarding automation covers this stage in detail.

Deliver: the weeks between sessions

This is where the phone matters most. Clients need to see this week's goal, today's tasks and habits, a short morning or evening check-in, the next module of the program, a way to message you and, for group programs, the other people going through it with them. The coach needs the reverse view: who is doing the work, who has gone quiet, what changed since the last call.

Retain: renewal, the next program, referrals

Retention is a delivery outcome. Clients renew when they can see progress (streaks, goals with progress bars, a record of what they did) and when the next step is offered inside the place they already use. A community and cohort that outlast the program help too. If you want the strategy side, read coaching retention software strategies.

A quick scope note for health, wellness and fitness coaches: a client app supports coaching, which is not medical or psychological treatment. If a client reports symptoms, disordered eating, self-harm, pain or medication questions, refer them to a licensed professional. Clinical notes belong in a clinical record system, not a coaching app.

Build your platform

Which tools cover which stage of the client journey?

Only one of the seven covers all four stages inside the same client app; the rest are strong at one or two. We ranked on four things, in this order: one login for the whole client journey, how much happens in the app between sessions, total stack cost once you add what is missing, and setup effort (including whether someone will build it for you).

The scenario we used to judge them: a coach with 15 one-to-one clients and one 8-week group program of about a dozen people, who wants every client to open one app for tasks, habits, check-ins, messages and program content, and who does not want to run five subscriptions to get there.

1. Coachful: the whole client journey in one branded app

Coachful is the best coaching software with a client app for coaches who deliver programs rather than one-off sessions, because the app is where the coaching actually happens rather than a viewer bolted onto a booking tool. It is built for solo coaches, coaches growing into a small team, and anyone replacing four to six separate tools.

What the client sees. After paying and signing, a client lands in a home screen with your branding. The coaching hub shows the next session, and tabs for Programs, Sessions, Progress and Documents. Inside a program, the week's goal sits above daily tasks and habits. A morning check-in asks how they are starting the day; an evening check-in asks how it went. Goals carry progress bars, and habits build streaks, so the client sees the work adding up. Courses you create (modules, lessons, drip release, completion tracking) appear in the same app, along with downloads, videos, books and AI tools you publish. For group programs, a cohort group is created automatically when someone enrolls, so the client walks straight into a group chat and community feed with the others in their round.

What you see. The coach side shows every client's goals, check-ins, habits, notes, intake answers, tags, payments and sessions on one record, with a status of thriving, active, quiet or at risk. That status is what turns the app into a retention tool: you can message the quiet clients before they become cancellations. Michelle, the built-in AI assistant, works from that live data. She briefs you before a session, summarizes recorded sessions, drafts emails and builds programs. Questions and planning with Michelle are included in your Coachful membership; confirmed builds and changes use AI credits. You can also set up an AI Coach, an AI version of you that selected clients can chat with between sessions, configured by you.

Getting clients into the app. This is where the all-in-one shape pays off. Booking pages handle availability rules, buffers, minimum notice and time zones, with two-way Google, Apple/iCloud and Outlook sync and built-in video or auto-created Zoom, Meet or Teams links. Payments run through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account: one-time, subscriptions, payment plans, coupons, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Coachful takes no platform fee on those payments (since August 2026), only the processor's fees apply. Your coaching agreement goes out for e-signature before the first call and stays on the client record. Upstream, the website builder, funnels, link-in-bio page and email sequences all feed the same contact list.

Here is a short walkthrough of how a client moves from first contact into their program:

Coachful client Programs view with an enrolled group program, its current week and members
A demo client's Programs view: the enrolled group program, the current week and the other members.

Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. On every plan, you can open Create, choose "We'll build it for you · FREE", and describe what you want: a website, a funnel, a program, a course outline, a check-in flow, an email sequence, a lead quiz and more. You can attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files such as your logo, photos and existing copy. The Coachful team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours, and leaves gaps for you rather than inventing credentials, testimonials or prices. One recent example: a real-estate and money coach got a year-long cohort program with an application form, an eight-page site and a nine-day bootcamp funnel. Another, a somatic coach leaving Kajabi, had the homepage and About page rebuilt and the contact form connected. It does not include filming videos, logo design or running ads. More in how the white-glove service works.

What it does not do. The client app ships under the Coachful listing with your branding, not under your own App Store account. Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and does not sign a BAA, so it is not for clinical records or insurance billing. There is no PayPal, no permanent free plan, and no Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop or Oura sync; Apple Health sync is not publicly available. Fitness coaches get the Fitness & Nutrition pack (workout builder with an illustrated exercise library, logging with PRs, macros, meal plans, progress photos and form-check video), but there are no stock exercise videos; you attach your own demos. See the Fitness & Nutrition pack if that is your niche.

Price. Plans are flat monthly, lower plans cap the number of clients, Pro is unlimited, and team plans add coach seats. Current plans: (Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients). Monthly plans cancel in one click, and there is a free trial. Coachful holds a 4.5 rating on Trustpilot from 21 reviews.

Who should start here: coaches running multi-week programs, habit-based or accountability coaching, group cohorts alongside one-to-one clients, and anyone tired of sending clients to three different logins. More on the app itself at the Coachful client app.

2. Quenza: strong between-session activities, nothing before or after

Quenza is a client-engagement tool for coaches and therapists, and its client app is built around activities: worksheets, exercises and multi-step programs that clients complete on their phones, plus chat with the practitioner.

Quenza homepage as it appeared in October 2026, showing the main headline and product overview
Quenza's homepage in October 2026.

If your coaching is exercise-heavy (reflection prompts, assessments, structured homework), Quenza's activity builder is a natural fit, and the client side is designed for exactly that kind of between-session work. Programs string those activities together, which covers much of the "deliver" stage.

The gaps sit on both sides of delivery. As listed in October 2026, Quenza does not process client payments; invoicing and digital products are marked as planned. An older profile also notes no scheduling or video calls. So you still need a booking tool, a payment tool and a website, and your client receives emails from several systems before arriving in the Quenza app. Habit streaks and daily morning and evening check-ins are not part of its documented feature set, although you can build check-in style activities.

Price as listed in October 2026: Spark $25/mo (1 professional, 10 clients), Growth $50/mo (250 clients), Impact $125/mo (400 clients), Collective $160/mo (up to 3 professionals, 500 clients). Annual billing lowers each. There is a 30-day trial with no card. Trustpilot shows 4.3 from 8 reviews.

Pick it over Coachful if you already have booking, payments and a website you are happy with, and you only want a dedicated activity and worksheet app for clients.

3. Mighty Networks: a community app first, coaching second

Mighty Networks gives members a polished community app with courses and live events inside it, which makes it the strongest pick here for coaches whose product is the group itself.

Mighty Networks homepage as it appeared in October 2026, showing the main headline and product overview
Mighty Networks's homepage in October 2026.

Members use Mighty-branded apps on their phones, where feeds, courses, livestreams and events live together. For a membership or a large cohort, that social layer is the main attraction, and livestream hours come with each listed plan (20 hours a month for up to 100 attendees on Launch, as listed in October 2026).

Where it falls short for one-to-one coaching: there is no 1:1 scheduling, no invoicing and no contracts, and no per-client habits, check-ins or private coaching plans. Your app under your own brand is only on the custom-priced Mighty Pro tier. Mighty also takes a platform fee on sales: 2% on Launch, 1% on Scale and 0.5% on Growth and Mighty Pro, on top of Stripe processing.

Plans as listed in October 2026: Launch $95/mo ($79/mo billed annually), Scale $215/mo ($179/mo annually), Growth $354/mo billed annually, Mighty Pro custom. The trial runs 14 days with no card. Trustpilot: 3.3 from 219 reviews.

Pick it over Coachful if your offer is a large paid community or membership where members talk to each other far more than to you, and private one-to-one plans are not part of it.

4. Practice Better: a practice app for wellness and nutrition work

Practice Better is practice management for wellness and nutrition practitioners, and its mobile app, Better by Practice Better, runs on iOS and Android for both practitioners and their clients.

Practice Better homepage as it appeared in October 2026, showing the main headline and product overview
Practice Better's homepage in October 2026.

The vendor's own mobile app page (first published in 2021 and still live in October 2026) describes the app as an extension of the web portal, where any action available on the web can be done on the phone. Its feature menu lists secure messaging, telehealth, scheduling, group sessions, journaling, and programs and courses. For nutrition-led practitioners who also chart, that combination is hard to beat.

The limits are about branding and marketing. Evergreen programs, portal branding, a custom URL and SMS start on the Plus plan at $99/mo. There is no website builder or funnel pages, according to an older profile, so attracting clients happens elsewhere. Accounts below Team hold one practitioner. Coaches who do not need charting may find the clinical framing heavier than their work requires.

Plans as listed in October 2026: Sprout $0 (3 clients), Starter $35/mo (10 clients), Professional $69/mo (300 clients), Plus $99/mo (unlimited clients), Team $155/mo (2 practitioners). Trials run 14 days on most paid plans and 30 on Team. Trustpilot: 3.8 from 87 reviews.

Pick it over Coachful if you are a nutrition or wellness practitioner who needs charting and telehealth in the same tool, and a website or funnels are handled elsewhere.

Which one looks like you?

5. Delenta: a coaching portal where the app is a Premium feature

Delenta is a coaching practice platform with CRM, scheduling, contracts and client portals, and its mobile app and course creator are reserved for the Premium plan.

Delenta homepage as it appeared in October 2026, showing the main headline and product overview
Delenta's homepage in October 2026.

The admin side covers the enroll stage well: scheduling, contracts and payments through Stripe or PayPal with no extra Delenta transaction fee. Group coaching is supported. For a coach who mostly runs sessions and wants a tidy portal for files and notes, the lower plans do the job.

The catch for this article's question is the plan gating. If the client app is why you are shopping, you need Premium, so the lower plan prices do not apply to you. Starter caps you at 10 client portals and Pro at 40. Multi-coach work requires the custom-priced Teams tier. Its trial terms conflict on the pricing page (a 14-day headline and a 7-day FAQ answer), so check before you start. Daily habits and check-ins are not part of its documented features.

Costs as listed in October 2026: Starter $29/mo (10 client portals), Pro $49/mo (40 portals), Premium $79/mo (unlimited portals, plus the app and courses). Teams and Enterprise are quoted. Trustpilot: 4.1 from 5 reviews.

Pick it over Coachful if you mainly run sessions, want PayPal as a payment option and need a straightforward client portal with contracts.

6. Kajabi: your own App Store app, at the top tier

Kajabi is a course, community, website and email platform, and it is one of the few options here that offers an app published under your own name, positioned on its Pro plan.

Kajabi homepage as it appeared in October 2026, showing the main headline and product overview
Kajabi's homepage in October 2026.

On Kajabi's pricing page in October 2026, Pro is described as the plan for anyone "who wants their own app in the App Store." Below that, members use Kajabi's own mobile app, and Kajabi's help center keeps a separate section comparing the Kajabi Mobile App with the Branded Mobile App. Marketing tools are strong: websites, funnels, email and checkout all live in one place.

For coaching, the delivery stage is thin. Kajabi has no habit tracking or daily client check-ins, and coaching is structured as products and communities rather than per-client plans. The Basic plan includes 0 AI credits and caps you at 2,500 contacts and 5 products. Using a payment processor other than Kajabi Payments or PayPal adds a 0.5% to 2% Kajabi fee. Trustpilot shows 3.4 from 2,347 reviews.

Kajabi's tiers, as listed in October 2026: Basic $179/mo ($143/mo annually), Growth $249/mo ($199/mo annually), Pro $499/mo ($399/mo annually). The standard trial is 14 days.

Pick it over Coachful if an app under your own developer listing is non-negotiable, your business is mainly courses, and the Pro tier fits your budget.

7. Thinkific: courses first, with a paid app add-on

Thinkific is a course platform with communities and memberships, and its branded mobile app is a separate add-on rather than part of any plan.

Thinkific homepage as it appeared in October 2026, showing the main headline and product overview
Thinkific's homepage in October 2026.

For a coach whose clients mainly consume structured video lessons, Thinkific's course engine is mature, and the Start plan already allows 10,000 current students. Communities and a limited number of live community events are included.

For a coaching client app, it is the most expensive route here. The branded mobile app adds $199/mo on top of the plan. There is no built-in 1:1 scheduling (an older profile notes coaching relies on external booking links), and no client habits, daily check-ins or per-client plans. Prices rose about 10% on August 13, 2026. Trustpilot: 1.8 from 868 reviews.

The numbers as listed in October 2026: Start $109/mo ($82/mo annually), Grow $219/mo ($164/mo annually), Expand $499/mo ($374/mo annually), Plus custom. Every self-serve plan has a 30-day trial.

Pick it over Coachful if you sell video courses at scale to thousands of students and coaching is a small add-on to that business.

How do the client apps compare feature by feature?

Coachful is the only tool with a yes in every column; the others split between delivery-only apps and marketing platforms with a community app attached.

What does each stack cost at 5, 15 and 40 clients?

Compare the full stack, not the sticker: a cheap delivery app plus the booking, payment and website tools it lacks often costs more than one platform that does all of it. The table shows the monthly list price of the cheapest plan that includes the client app, as listed in October 2026, before card processing fees.

Recipe A: all-in-one

One subscription covers the website, funnels, booking, payments, agreements, programs, habits, check-ins, courses, community and email, and the client uses one app. For our 15-client scenario the cost is a single line: Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients. Add only Stripe or Razorpay processing fees. Setup can be done for you through the white-glove build.

Recipe B: assembled around a delivery app (example)

An illustrative assembled stack for the same 15 clients: Quenza Growth at $50/mo for the client app, Calendly Standard at $10 per seat per month (billed annually) for booking with payments through your Stripe account, Kit Creator from $39/mo for email, and Systeme.io Startup at $17/mo for a website and funnel pages. That is about $116 a month across four logins before processing fees, and the client still receives emails from three systems before they reach the app. Nothing passes between those tools without Zapier or manual work, which adds a fifth subscription or your own time.

Recipe C: a marketing platform plus a coaching layer (example)

Coaches already on Kajabi sometimes keep it for courses and add a delivery tool for one-to-one work. Kajabi Basic at $179/mo plus Practice Better Professional at $69/mo comes to $248 a month, with two client apps for the same person. That is the setup worth avoiding: clients rarely keep two coaching apps on their phone for long.

How do you set up a client app in Coachful, step by step?

For the 15-client, one-group-program scenario, setup takes six steps, and each one maps to something the client feels.

  1. Brand the client home. Add your logo and colors. Client experience: they open the Coachful app on their phone and see your name and look, not a generic dashboard.
  2. Build the program. Start from one of more than 40 program templates or ask Michelle to draft one: weekly goals, daily tasks and two or three habits. Client experience: each morning they see what matters today.
  3. Turn on check-ins. Use the morning and evening check-in flows from the coaching flows library. Client experience: a short prompt to start the day and a short reflection to close it, which you read before every call.
  4. Connect enrollment. Create an offer with a booking page, payment (one-time, subscription or payment plan) and your coaching agreement for e-signature. See coaching contracts. Client experience: book, pay, sign and land in their home without a second email.
  5. Attach the group. Link the 8-week group program so a cohort group is created on enrollment. Client experience: they meet the others in their round in a group chat on day one.
  6. Watch the statuses. Check which clients are thriving, active, quiet or at risk each week, and message the quiet ones first. Client experience: they hear from you before they drift.

If you would rather not do steps 1 to 5 yourself, request them through the white-glove build and review what the team sets up. For a deeper look at check-ins specifically, see the best client check-in apps for coaches.

How do you move clients to a new app without losing them?

Move clients at a natural break, tell them why in one message, and make the first login lead straight to something useful. Most migration pain comes from asking clients to do admin rather than coaching.

  • Export everything first. Pull your client list, notes, program content and any intake answers from the old tool before you cancel. Most tools offer CSV export; check before the renewal date, not after.
  • Let someone else import it. In Coachful, clients, programs and content are imported for you during onboarding. Ask any vendor you are considering what they will import and what you must rebuild.
  • Switch at a program boundary. Start new cohorts and renewals in the new app, and let current clients finish their round in the old one if the overlap is short.
  • Send one invite with one reason. "Your habits, check-ins and our messages now live in one app" works better than a list of features. Include the first task so the login has a purpose.
  • Keep payments clean. Recurring subscriptions tied to a processor account may need clients to re-enter card details in the new checkout. Time this with a renewal so nobody is billed twice.
  • Do not run two client apps in parallel for long. A month is enough. Clients pick the one they opened last and ignore the other.
  • Check your data rights. Make sure you can export again later. Coachful exports the full client record (roster, notes, check-ins, goals, habits, sessions, form responses) as a ZIP.

Two more mistakes to avoid when choosing: judging the app from the coach dashboard instead of the client's phone (sign up as a test client during any trial), and paying for an app under your own App Store name before you have enough clients for it to matter. Our guide to creating a coaching app without developers covers the own-listing question in more depth, and coaching portals with a mobile app compares portal features.

Which coaching software with a client app should you choose?

Choose Coachful if you want one app that covers your clients from first booking to renewal, with programs, habits, check-ins, courses, community and messaging in the same place. It is the best fit for program-based, accountability and group coaching, and the free white-glove build removes most of the setup work.

The others are good at narrower jobs. Quenza is a fine activity app if the rest of your stack is already settled. Mighty Networks suits community-first memberships. Practice Better suits nutrition and wellness practitioners who chart. Delenta works for session-based coaches who want PayPal. Kajabi and Thinkific are course businesses first; Kajabi is the route to your own App Store listing if that matters more than daily coaching features.

Before you commit, open each shortlisted tool's client app on your own phone as a test client and complete one day of the program. The tool you would actually open again tomorrow is the right one. For broader comparisons, see coaching client management software and coaching apps with payments, or browse the Coachful coaching app and group coaching software pages.

Frequently asked questions

Does Coachful give me my own app in the App Store?

No. Clients download the Coachful app on iPhone or Android and see your branding, logo and colors inside it. It is not published under your own developer account. If you need your own App Store listing, Kajabi positions that on its Pro plan and Mighty Networks on its custom-priced Mighty Pro tier.

What should a coaching client app include?

At minimum: today's tasks and habits, a short check-in, the current program content, messaging with you and the next session. For group work, add a cohort chat or community. Booking, payment and agreements in the same system matter too, because they decide whether clients ever reach the app.

Is a client portal in a mobile browser enough?

It can be for session-only coaching where clients log in once a week. For habit or accountability coaching, an installed app on the phone makes daily check-ins far easier to keep up. Paperbell, for example, works through the mobile browser only, according to an older profile, which suits admin but not daily delivery.

Which tool is best for group programs with a client app?

Coachful creates a cohort group automatically when someone enrolls in a program and puts the group chat, community feed and program content in the same app as one-to-one work. Mighty Networks is strong for large communities but has no one-to-one plans, habits or check-ins.

Can I use Coachful for health or fitness clients?

Yes for coaching, with limits. The Fitness & Nutrition pack covers workouts, macros, meal plans, progress photos and form-check video. Coachful is not HIPAA-certified, so clinical records belong in a clinical system, and clients with medical red flags should be referred to a licensed professional.

What is Coachful's free white-glove service?

On every plan, you describe what you want built (website, funnel, program, course outline, check-in flow, email sequence and more) and attach up to 8 links and 10 files. The Coachful team builds it in your own account, usually within about 24 hours, and leaves gaps for you instead of inventing claims. Video recording, logo design and ad management are not included.

Which client app works without payments built in?

Quenza, as listed in October 2026, does not yet process client payments; invoicing is marked as planned. That works if you already invoice elsewhere, but it means one more tool and one more login in your stack.

Does Coachful charge a fee on client payments?

No. Since August 2026 Coachful takes 0% platform fee; you pay only Stripe or Razorpay processing on payments that run through your own account. PayPal is not supported.

How do I try Coachful?

Start a free trial, then request the white-glove build for your website, program or check-in flows. Add yourself as a test client so you can see the app exactly as your clients will. Current plans: (Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients).

Can multiple coaches share one client app?

Yes. Coachful's team plans (Studio and Agency) add coach seats with per-coach availability and staff permissions, and session types can assign clients by round-robin or least-busy rules. Clients still use one app. See Coachful for teams.
