Top 12 Community Platforms for Holistic Health Coaches

Top 12 Community Platforms for Holistic Health Coaches

The best community platforms for holistic health coaches do two jobs at once: they give a group a warm place to share meals, morning routines and small wins, and they keep each client's private work (sleep notes, stress check-ins, habit streaks) out of the public feed. Most community tools only do the first job. So the deciding question is not "which feed looks nicest" but "where does the private, daily, whole-person work live, and does it sit in the same login as the group?"

Our pick is Coachful, because it puts the community feed, cohort groups, daily habits and check-ins, booking, payments and courses behind one login and one branded client app. We make Coachful, so weigh that, and use the five-question checklist below to test the ranking against your own practice. Eleven other options follow, from dedicated community tools like Circle, Mighty Networks and Heartbeat to free spaces like Discord and Facebook Groups, each with the case for picking it instead.

Prices for other vendors are as listed on their pages in October 2026. Wherever a price could not be verified today, we say so.

What do holistic health coaches actually need from a community platform?

Holistic health coaches need a community that supports daily, whole-person habit work across sleep, food, movement, stress and relationships, with a clear line between what members share in public and what stays between client and coach. A generic "course plus forum" setup misses that line.

Look at how a typical holistic practice runs. A 21-day reset or a seasonal 8-week program brings a cohort together. Members swap recipes, post photos of a morning walk, and ask about journaling prompts. Underneath, each person tracks their own habits (hydration, a wind-down routine, a breathing practice), answers a morning or evening check-in, and books a 1:1 call when something gets stuck. A single platform has to carry all of it:

  • Cohort spaces that open and close with the program. A spring reset group should not mix with last autumn's group, and members should land in the right space automatically when they pay.
  • Private daily tracking beside the public feed. Habit streaks, mood notes and check-ins are personal. Many members will not post them publicly, and they should not have to.
  • Live sessions and recordings. Guided meditations, cooking demos, Q&A calls and breathwork sessions are the backbone of most holistic groups.
  • Content in mixed formats. Audio for meditations, PDFs for meal guides, short videos, worksheets and journaling prompts.
  • 1:1 booking and payment. Many holistic coaches sell a group program with an optional private-session add-on, or a 1:1 package that includes community access.

There is also a scope issue specific to this niche. Members in a holistic health group will mention symptoms, diagnoses, medications and supplements. Coaching is not treatment: a health coach supports behavior change and does not diagnose, treat or prescribe. The National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching frames coaching as client-centered behavior change, not clinical care. Your community needs posted guidelines, moderation, and a habit of referring members to a doctor, registered dietitian or mental health professional when a post moves past coaching. Our guide on how to become a holistic health coach covers that scope in more depth.

Which five questions should you answer before choosing?

Answer these five questions about your practice, then use the table that follows to find your starting pick. Write the answers down; they also make vendor demos faster.

  1. Do your clients track daily habits or check-ins with you? If yes, you need private tracking inside the same app as the community, or clients will juggle two apps and drop one.
  2. Is the community the product, or part of a coaching program? A paid membership of hundreds of members is a different job from a 12-person cohort attached to a coaching package.
  3. Do you also sell 1:1 sessions? If yes, booking, reminders, agreements and payments need to live somewhere. Count those tools.
  4. How much do you want to pay as a percentage of sales? Several community platforms take 0.5% to 10% of every payment on top of card processing.
  5. How much setup time do you have? A coach launching a first program in three weeks needs a build that is done for them more than a platform with a thousand settings.

Which platform fits your answers?

Use this table as a shortcut. Find the row that matches most of your answers.

PickChoose it when your answers say
CoachfulYes to daily habits or check-ins, yes to 1:1 sessions, community is part of a program, you want no platform fee and a team to build your setup
CircleThe community is the main product, you want polished spaces and events, and 1:1 work happens elsewhere
Mighty NetworksA large membership with courses and livestreams, branded apps not urgent, no 1:1 back office needed
HeartbeatA smaller paid community with courses and events at a low monthly price, and you accept a fee on sales
SkoolA simple community and classroom with gamification, no website or email needed
Practice BetterYour work is closer to a clinical-style practice with charting, telehealth and client records, community is minor
KajabiCourses and a marketing site are the business, and the community is one product among several
PodiaA simple storefront for a few digital products plus a small community
Paperbell1:1 packages are the core and community is not a priority
ThinkificA course catalog comes first and the community supports it
DiscordA free, chat-first space for an audience that already uses it

How did we rank these community platforms?

We ranked on what a holistic practice pays for in time and money, using vendor documentation, published pricing pages and public reviews. We did not run hands-on tests of every tool, and we say where a fact could not be verified.

Ranking criteria: one login for the whole client journey, private between-session delivery (habits, check-ins, programs) beside the group, total stack cost including platform fees, and setup effort, including whether someone will build it for you.

1. Coachful: why does it rank first for holistic health coaches?

Coachful ranks first because it is the only option here where a cohort community, each client's private habits and check-ins, 1:1 booking, payments, agreements and courses all live behind one coach login and one branded client app. For a holistic coach, that means the spring reset group, the daily wind-down habit and the private follow-up call are in the same place.

Coachful's Squads view with program-linked groups on the laptop and the client habit tracker on the tablet, both with demo data.

What Coachful is, in one paragraph. Coachful is a coaching platform built for coaches who deliver programs, not just sessions. One subscription covers booking, payments, contracts, program delivery with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant. It suits solo coaches growing into a small team and coaches replacing four to six separate tools. It is not HIPAA-certified, has no PayPal, has no permanent free plan, and is not built for clinical record-keeping or insurance billing. To start, take a free trial and request the free white-glove build, where the Coachful team sets up your site, program or funnel inside your account.

How the community side works for a holistic cohort

The community includes a feed, group chat, direct messages and video events, plus group calls and webinars. The detail that matters most for cohort programs: when a client enrolls in a program, Coachful creates the cohort group automatically, so your autumn gut-health reset members land in their own space without you adding anyone by hand.

Private daily work beside the group

This is where Coachful separates from every dedicated community tool on this list. Programs run for multiple weeks with weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars, and streaks. A client can post a photo of a breakfast bowl in the cohort feed and log a private evening check-in about stress and sleep in the same app, and only you see the check-in.

Check-ins are built as coaching flows: a welcome flow, daily morning and evening check-ins, weekly reviews and longer journeys. Here is a short walkthrough of how check-ins are set up:

On the coach side, every client record collects goals, check-ins, habits, notes, intake answers, tags, payments and sessions, with a status of thriving, active, quiet or at risk. In a group of 20, that status is how you notice the member who went silent in week two before they quietly drop out.

1:1 sessions, payments and agreements without extra tools

Booking pages support availability rules, buffers, minimum notice and time-zone detection, with two-way Google, Apple/iCloud and Outlook calendar sync. Sessions use built-in video or auto-created Zoom, Meet or Teams links, with email reminders, plus SMS 24 hours before and WhatsApp one hour before once messaging is enabled. You can ask intake questions at booking, which is a natural place to ask about goals and to state your scope line.

Payments run through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account: one-time, subscriptions, payment plans, order bumps, coupons, refunds, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Since August 2026, Coachful charges a 0% platform fee, so you pay only Stripe or Razorpay processing. Coaching agreements with e-signature go out before the first call and are stored on the client record, which is the right place for your "coaching is not medical care" clause. Current plans: (Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients).

Content, courses and the website

Courses with modules, lessons, drip and completion tracking sit next to downloads, videos, books, events and bundles, all delivered into the client's branded home. That covers meditation audio, a seasonal recipe PDF and a five-lesson sleep course. The section-based website builder includes a blog, custom domain, SEO settings and 30 designed homepage templates, and funnels cover booking, application, lead-magnet and checkout pages. Email lists, broadcasts and multi-step sequences handle the "your reset starts Monday" messages.

Michelle, the built-in AI assistant, works from your live practice data: it can draft a program, write the welcome email for a cohort, summarize recorded sessions and brief you before a call. Questions and planning are included in your Coachful membership; confirmed builds and changes use AI credits. Coachful also offers an AI Coach, an AI version of you that selected clients can chat with between sessions, configured by you.

Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. From Create, the "We'll build it for you" option lets you describe what you want: a website, a funnel, a program, a course outline, a check-in flow, an email sequence or a lead quiz. You can attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files such as a logo, photos or existing copy. The Coachful team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours, and leaves gaps for you instead of inventing credentials, testimonials or prices. One recent build: a menopause and midlife health coach starting from nothing got a five-page site in sage and cream with every button leading to a free 20-minute consultation. It does not include recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing. Read more about the free white-glove service.

Limits to know. Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and does not sign a BAA, so it is not the home for clinical records (the HHS HIPAA overview explains who needs that). There is no Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop or Oura sync, and Apple Health sync is not publicly available. The client app ships under the Coachful listing with your branding, not under your own App Store account. More on the niche fit: Coachful for health coaches and the community platform overview.

2. Circle: is a dedicated community product worth it?

Circle's community platform homepage with its headline and sign-up buttons
Circle's homepage in October 2026.

Circle is worth it when the community itself is what you sell. It is a community platform with courses, events, live streams and paid memberships, and it is often chosen by creators who want an organized, well-designed space with many topic areas. For a holistic coach, that could mean spaces for nutrition, movement, sleep and mindset inside one paid membership.

Pricing as listed in October 2026: Professional at $89/mo billed annually (3 admins, 10 moderators, 2,500 AI credits per month), Business at $199/mo billed annually, Scale at $419/mo billed annually, and custom-priced Circle Plus. Monthly-billed prices were not shown in our data. A 14-day free trial needs no credit card. Circle adds its own fee on payments: 2% on Professional, 1% on Business and Scale, 0.5% on Circle Plus, plus Stripe processing. Circle holds a Trustpilot score of 4.1 from 129 reviews (seen October 2026).

The gaps matter for holistic work. Circle has no 1:1 scheduling or client management back office, and no per-client habits, check-ins or coaching plans. Your daily hydration tracker and evening reflection would need a second tool, and branded mobile apps arrive only on custom-priced Circle Plus. Moderators help, but nothing in Circle links a member's private progress to the posts they write, so spotting the quiet, struggling member is manual.

Holistic coaches who pair Circle with a separate booking tool, payments tool and habit app often end up with three logins for members. That is workable for a large, self-directed membership. It is harder for a small, high-touch cohort.

Pick it over Coachful if your business is a large paid membership where members mostly support each other, you have a moderator team, and you do not run private daily check-ins with each person.

3. Mighty Networks: built for big memberships and livestreams

Mighty Networks homepage introducing its community, courses and events platform
Mighty Networks' homepage in October 2026.

Mighty Networks suits holistic coaches running a large membership with regular livestreams, such as a weekly group meditation or a monthly seasonal-eating workshop. It combines community, courses and events, and members use Mighty-branded apps.

As listed in October 2026, Launch costs $95/mo or $79/mo billed annually (3 hosts, 10 moderators, 200 GB storage, livestreaming 20 hours a month for up to 100 attendees). Scale costs $215/mo or $179/mo billed annually, with 30 livestream hours and 200 attendees. Growth is $354/mo billed annually, and Mighty Pro is custom. The 14-day trial needs no card and includes Growth plan features. The platform fee on sales is 2% on Launch, 1% on Scale and 0.5% on Growth and Mighty Pro, plus Stripe processing. Trustpilot shows 3.3 from 219 reviews (seen October 2026).

For holistic work, the livestream allowance is the strongest feature: a weekly 60-minute breathwork session uses about four of Launch's 20 monthly hours. The weaker side is 1:1 work. Mighty Networks has no 1:1 scheduling, invoicing or contracts, and no per-client habits, check-ins or private coaching plans. Your own branded app requires custom-priced Mighty Pro.

Trial accounts include Growth features, so check which features you will lose on Launch before you build your cohort structure around them.

Pick it over Coachful if livestreamed group content for a membership of hundreds is the center of your business and private coaching is rare or handled in a separate tool.

4. Heartbeat: a lower-cost community with a sales fee

Heartbeat is a community platform with discussions, courses, events, a member directory and badges, aimed at people building paid communities. We fetched its pricing page today, October 25, 2026. There is no homepage screenshot for it in this article.

Build costs $49/mo, or $40/mo billed annually ($490 a year), and the page lists Zoom and Google Calendar integrations, gamification, a member directory and member data migration, with Heartbeat branding shown. Grow costs $149/mo, or $124/mo billed annually, and adds automation, API access, priority support and branding removal. Scale is $849/mo, or $766/mo billed annually. A 14-day free trial needs no credit card. Native video hosting is a $19/month add-on on Build (50 hours of storage) and is included on higher plans.

The fee is the part to model. Heartbeat states it charges a transaction fee of 5% on Build, 2.5% on Grow and 1.25% on Scale, on top of Stripe's processing (typically 2.9% + 30¢). As an illustrative example, if you sell a $300 reset program to 20 people, Build's 5% fee is $300 of that $6,000, before Stripe.

For a holistic coach, Heartbeat's discussion channels and events cover the group side well enough. The pricing page does not describe 1:1 booking pages, per-client habit tracking or check-ins, so plan for separate tools there.

Pick it over Coachful if you want a standalone paid community with a low monthly entry price, your sales volume is modest, and private daily tracking is not part of your method.

5. Skool: what does the gamified model offer a wellness group?

Skool homepage presenting its community and classroom platform
Skool's homepage in October 2026.

Skool offers a single group with a community feed, a classroom for courses and a calendar, plus leaderboards that reward participation. Some holistic coaches like the points system for challenges such as "30 days of morning walks."

Pricing as listed in October 2026: Hobby at $9/mo ($7.5/mo billed annually) and Pro at $99/mo ($82.5/mo billed annually), both with unlimited members, courses, videos and live calls. The fees are the catch. Hobby charges 10% + 30¢ on all transactions; Pro charges 2.9% + 30¢ up to $899 and 3.9% + 30¢ above $900. Payments run only through Skool Payments, fees are non-refundable, and payouts are weekly. Trial length and card terms were not stated on the pricing page when checked. Trustpilot shows 1.6 from 54 reviews (seen October 2026).

The limits for a holistic practice: no custom-domain website, funnels, email automation or public API. There are no 1:1 client records, intake forms, habits or check-ins. Gamified leaderboards can also sit awkwardly with some holistic clients: ranking people on posting activity rewards the loudest members, and a member managing burnout may not want a public score at all.

Pick it over Coachful if you want the lowest possible monthly start for a low-priced community and classroom, and you are comfortable with transaction fees and no private client tracking.

6. Practice Better: when your practice looks more clinical

Practice Better homepage for its practice management and client portal software
Practice Better's homepage in October 2026.

Practice Better is practice management software with scheduling, telehealth video, integrated billing, secure messaging, a client portal and forms and note templates. It is popular with practitioners who keep detailed client notes. We fetched its pricing page today, October 25, 2026.

Listed plans: a free Sprout plan for 3 clients aimed at students and new practitioners; Starter at $35/mo, or $25/mo billed annually, for 10 clients; Professional at $69/mo, or $59/mo billed annually, for 300 clients; Plus at $99/mo, or $89/mo billed annually, with unlimited clients; and Team at $155/mo, or $145/mo billed annually, with 2 practitioner licenses. Paid plans have a 14-day trial, and Team has 30 days. Professional adds group scheduling, group messaging, fixed-date programs and payment plans. Add-ons include an AI charting assistant from $10/month per practitioner, SMS reminders at 5¢ each, and ePrescribe for licensed prescribers.

For holistic coaches, the community question is the weak point. The pricing page lists group messaging and fixed-date programs, not a community feed with posts and comments. If your groups are small and you mostly need structured client records, that may be enough. The charting and ePrescribe features also signal who it is built for: if you are a health coach and not a licensed clinician, much of that tooling sits outside your scope.

Pick it over Coachful if you also hold a clinical license, need charting and practice-management features, and your group work is limited to messaging rather than an active community feed.

7. Kajabi: the course business that includes a community

Kajabi homepage for its course, community and website platform
Kajabi's homepage in October 2026.

Kajabi is a course, community, website, funnel and email platform for selling knowledge products. Holistic coaches who already sell a signature course, say an online gut-health or stress-reset program, often consider it.

As listed in October 2026: Basic at $179/mo or $143/mo billed annually (5 products, 2,500 contacts, 1 community, 1 website, 2 admin users, 0 AI credits); Growth at $249/mo or $199/mo billed annually; Pro at $499/mo or $399/mo billed annually with up to 3 communities. The standard trial is 14 days. Kajabi Payments in the US costs 2.9% + 30¢ on Basic, down to 2.7% + 30¢ on Pro. Using a processor other than Kajabi Payments or PayPal adds a Kajabi fee of 2% on Basic, 1% on Growth or 0.5% on Pro. Trustpilot shows 3.4 from 2,347 reviews (seen October 2026).

The fit question: Kajabi treats coaching as products and communities, not per-client plans. It has no habit tracking or daily client check-ins. Basic allows only one community, so separate cohort spaces for a spring and an autumn reset need planning, and the 2,500-contact cap can bite once a free lead magnet grows your list.

Pick it over Coachful if a large course catalog and marketing funnels are your main revenue, your community is a bonus for course buyers, and you do not run private daily check-ins.

8. Podia: a simple storefront for smaller holistic offers

Podia homepage for its storefront for courses, downloads and community
Podia's homepage in October 2026.

Podia is a straightforward storefront for courses, downloads, webinars, coaching sessions and a community. It suits a holistic coach selling a few items, such as a recipe e-book, a meditation audio pack and a small group space.

Listed in October 2026: Mover at $49/mo or $42/mo billed annually (50 products, 25 community spaces, 100 email subscribers included), Shaker at $99/mo or $84/mo billed annually (500 subscribers, 0% Podia fee), and Earthquaker at $179/mo or $150/mo billed annually (1,000 subscribers). Mover charges a 5% Podia fee on sales; Stripe or PayPal processing applies on all plans. The 14-day trial needs no credit card. Trustpilot shows 4.1 from 153 reviews (seen October 2026).

The small email allowances are a real constraint for holistic coaches who grow through free resources like a sleep guide. An older profile notes no mobile app and no native video calls, and there are no client habits, check-ins or per-client plans.

Pick it over Coachful if you mainly sell a handful of digital products, your email list is small, and the community is a light add-on rather than the center of a program.

9. Paperbell: 1:1 packages first, community second

Paperbell homepage for its coaching business software
Paperbell's homepage in October 2026.

Paperbell is coaching business software aimed at coaches who sell 1:1 packages. It is a direct substitute for the 1:1 side of Coachful rather than a community platform, which is why it sits in the lower half of this list.

We could not verify Paperbell's current pricing today: its pricing page did not return readable content when we checked on October 25, 2026. We are not quoting a figure. Check the vendor's own pricing page before you compare.

For a holistic practice, the fit depends on how much group work you do. If your offer is mostly private packages (for example, a three-month 1:1 lifestyle package), a package-first tool can be enough. If you run cohorts with a shared feed, daily habit tracking and live group calls, confirm what Paperbell documents for community and habit tracking before you commit, because we could not verify those features from a fetched page today.

Consider also how your clients will experience it. A package checkout that books the first call is useful, but a holistic client in week three of a sleep program benefits from somewhere to log a nightly routine and talk to peers. Ask Paperbell's team directly how that would work.

Pick it over Coachful if you only sell 1:1 packages, have no plans for group programs or a community, and you have confirmed its current pricing fits your budget.

10. Thinkific: course-first, with communities attached

Thinkific homepage for its online course and community platform
Thinkific's homepage in October 2026.

Thinkific is a course platform with communities, memberships and coaching or webinar products. It is a reasonable choice when a holistic coach's business is mostly a catalog of self-paced courses.

As listed in October 2026: Start at $109/mo or $82/mo billed annually (2 admins, 1 community with 10 spaces, 5 live community events, max group size 50), Grow at $219/mo or $164/mo billed annually, Expand at $499/mo or $374/mo billed annually, and a custom Plus plan. Prices rose about 10% on August 13, 2026. Every self-serve plan has a 30-day trial. There is a 0% Thinkific transaction fee with Thinkific Payments; third-party gateways carry an extra gateway fee not listed on the page. A branded mobile app is a $199/mo add-on. Trustpilot shows 1.8 from 868 reviews (seen October 2026).

For community-led holistic work, the Start plan's 5 live community events and group size cap of 50 can be tight for an ongoing weekly meditation circle. An older profile notes no built-in 1:1 scheduling, with coaching relying on external booking links. There are no client habits, daily check-ins or per-client plans.

Pick it over Coachful if you sell many self-paced courses to a broad audience and the community is a support channel, not your coaching method.

11. Discord: free chat with a learning curve

Discord is a chat platform organized into servers with text and voice channels and member roles. Some coaches use it for a free or low-touch community, especially with a younger audience that already lives there.

We did not check a Discord pricing page for this article, so we are not quoting any paid tiers. Creating a server is something many communities do without paying, but verify current terms on Discord's own site.

For holistic coaching, Discord's strengths are real-time chat and voice rooms for drop-in sessions. The weaknesses are bigger: there is no built-in booking, coaching agreements, per-client habits or check-ins, and the fast-scrolling chat format buries thoughtful posts such as a member's reflection on a hard week. Many holistic clients in midlife will not have a Discord account and may find the interface noisy. Discord also is not a private health record, so the same moderation and scope rules apply as anywhere else.

Pick it over Coachful if you want a chat-first hangout with no subscription for an audience already on Discord, and paid coaching happens in another tool.

12. Facebook Groups: reach, not delivery

Facebook Groups are where many holistic coaches first gather an audience: a free group about seasonal eating or stress, with weekly live videos. We did not check a pricing page for this article, so we are not quoting costs.

Groups work for reach because prospects already scroll Facebook. They work poorly for delivery. You do not control the feed, posts compete with everything else on the platform, and there are no private habit trackers, check-ins, booking, agreements or program structure. Members posting about symptoms in a public or semi-public group also raises privacy concerns you cannot fully manage.

A common setup is to keep a free Facebook Group as a top-of-funnel space and move paying clients into a private program app. Our list of coaching communities for health coaches covers peer groups for the coach side.

Pick it over Coachful if you only need a no-cost space to meet prospects and do not yet sell a program or package.

How do the features compare side by side?

Here is what each platform documents for the jobs holistic health coaches care about. "Not documented" means we did not find it in the vendor facts we used, not that it definitely does not exist.

  1. Request the build. Use "We'll build it for you" and describe the program: 8 weeks, weekly themes (sleep, hydration, whole-food meals, movement, stress, connection, rest, review), your logo and photos. Ask for a sales page and an application funnel too.
  2. Set the program structure. Each week gets a goal and daily tasks. Add habits such as a wind-down routine, a daily walk and a glass of water before coffee, with streaks.
  3. Add check-ins. A short morning check-in (energy, intention) and an evening check-in (what went well, one stressor). These are private to you and the client.
  4. Open the cohort space. Enrollment creates the cohort group automatically. Post community guidelines on day one, including a line that the group is not a place for medical advice and that you will refer out when needed.
  5. Schedule live calls. Weekly group calls or a webinar for a guided practice, with recordings delivered into the program.
  6. Add the content. Meditation audio, a recipe PDF and a short course on sleep basics, drip-released by week.
  7. Price it. Set a one-time price or a payment plan through your Stripe account, with an optional add-on for two private sessions. Send the coaching agreement with e-signature before the first call.
  8. Watch the client statuses. Each week, look at who moved from active to quiet or at risk and reach out privately before the group notices.

For pricing the program itself, compare what similar programs charge in your market and your training level; our guide to holistic health coach certification covers how credentials affect positioning.

What will each platform cost at 5, 15 and 40 clients?

This table shows the plan you would likely need at each roster size, using list prices as of October 2026. It leaves out card processing, which applies everywhere. Community tools do not cap by coaching client, so the plan often stays the same; the platform fee on sales is what grows.

The bigger cost is the stack. A community tool without booking, agreements, email and habit tracking usually needs two to four other subscriptions beside it. Add those up before comparing. Our guide to payment platforms for coaches explains processing fees in detail.

Illustrative example: on $4,000 of monthly program sales, a 5% platform fee is $200 a month and a 10% fee is $400, before card processing. At that volume, the percentage often costs more than the subscription.

What red flags and switching costs should you watch for?

The biggest red flags are percentage fees that grow with you, communities that cannot hold private health conversations, and data you cannot take with you. Check each before you invite a single member.

  • Percentage fees on every sale. Skool Hobby, Heartbeat Build, Podia Mover, Circle and Mighty Networks all take a share of payments. A cheap monthly plan can end up the most expensive line once a cohort sells well.
  • Public feeds used for private disclosures. If the only place for a member to share how they are doing is the group feed, people will either overshare health details or say nothing. Give them a private channel to you.
  • Medical advice in comments. Set rules that members do not recommend supplements, medication changes or protocols to each other, and redirect those posts to qualified professionals.
  • No HIPAA coverage. None of the community-first tools here is positioned as a clinical record system, and Coachful is not HIPAA-certified either. If you also work as a licensed clinician, keep clinical records in a system built for that.
  • Locked-in content and members. Before you build, confirm you can export members, posts and course content. Coachful exports full client data as a ZIP, including the roster, notes, check-ins, goals, habits, sessions and form responses, plus course export.
  • Branded app limits. Circle and Mighty Networks reserve your own branded app for custom-priced tiers; Thinkific charges an add-on.

Switching mid-cohort is the most disruptive move. Finish the running cohort, then move the next one. Our guide on switching coaching platforms without disrupting clients has a step-by-step plan, and Coachful imports clients, programs and content for you during onboarding.

Which community platform should a holistic health coach choose?

Choose Coachful if your coaching combines a group with private daily work, because it is the only option here that holds the cohort feed, habits, check-ins, 1:1 sessions, payments, agreements and courses in one client app with no platform fee on sales. The free white-glove build removes most of the setup time.

Choose Circle or Mighty Networks if the community is the product and you sell to hundreds of members who mostly support each other. Choose Heartbeat or Skool for a low entry price if you accept their fees on sales. Choose Practice Better if you also practice clinically and need charting. Keep Discord or a Facebook Group for free reach, not delivery.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best community platform for holistic health coaches?

For coaches who run programs with daily habits and check-ins, Coachful is our pick because the community, private tracking, booking and payments share one login. If your community is the whole product and you have no 1:1 work, Circle or Mighty Networks are strong dedicated options.

Is Coachful's white-glove build service really free?

Yes. The white-glove build is free on every plan. You describe what you want, such as a website, funnel, program or email sequence, attach up to 8 links and 10 files, and the Coachful team builds it in your account, usually within about 24 hours. It does not include video recording, logo design, ads or ongoing marketing.

Can I keep health details private inside a group program?

In Coachful, check-ins, habits and notes are private between you and the client, while the cohort feed is shared. On community-only tools like Circle, Skool or Discord, there is no built-in private check-in, so you would need a separate tool or direct messages.

Are any of these platforms HIPAA-compliant?

Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and does not sign a BAA. We did not verify HIPAA status for the other tools in this article. If you are a covered entity under HIPAA, confirm coverage directly with each vendor and keep clinical records in a system designed for them.

How do I stop members giving each other medical advice?

Post clear guidelines on day one: share experiences, not prescriptions, and do not recommend medication or supplement changes. Moderate posts that cross the line and point members to their doctor, a registered dietitian or a mental health professional. Put the same scope statement in your coaching agreement.

Is a free Facebook Group enough to start?

A free group can help you meet prospects, but it is weak for delivering a paid program. There are no private trackers, booking or program structure, and you do not control the feed. Many coaches use one for reach and move paying clients to a program app.

Which platforms take a percentage of my sales?

As listed in October 2026, Skool, Circle, Mighty Networks, Heartbeat and Podia's Mover plan take a platform fee on payments, and Kajabi adds one when you use a non-Kajabi processor. Coachful charges a 0% platform fee, so you pay only Stripe or Razorpay processing.

Can I run several cohorts at once?

Yes, in Coachful each program enrollment creates its own cohort group automatically, and the Squads view lists them side by side. On other tools, check how many communities or spaces your plan allows; Kajabi Basic, for example, includes one community.

Does Coachful sync with wearables like Oura or Fitbit?

No. Coachful has no Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop or Oura sync, and Apple Health sync is not publicly available. Clients can log habits and check-ins directly in the app instead.

How long does it take to move an existing community over?

It depends on your content and member count. Coachful imports clients, programs and content for you during onboarding, and the white-glove team can rebuild pages. Plan the move between cohorts so no running group is interrupted.
