Circle vs CoachAccountable 2026: Which Fits Your Coaching?

Circle vs CoachAccountable is really a choice between two different jobs. Circle is a community platform: spaces, courses, live events and paid memberships for a group. CoachAccountable is a coaching back office: sessions, action plans, metrics, worksheets, invoicing and agreements for individual clients. If your business is one group that talks to each other, Circle fits better. If your business is a roster of 1:1 clients you hold accountable week to week, CoachAccountable fits better. If you need both, neither covers the other's half well, and that is where a third option comes in.
We make Coachful, a coaching platform that puts the 1:1 client work, programs with habits and check-ins, a community, courses and your website under one login. We will be clear about where Circle or CoachAccountable is the better pick, and we rank Coachful first only on the criteria most coaches actually pay for: one login for the whole client journey, between-session delivery, total stack cost and setup effort. Every vendor price below is as listed in October 2026; notes marked "per our September 2026 profile" come from earlier research and are flagged so you can recheck them.

What is the short answer by use case?
Pick by the shape of your offer, not by feature count. Here is the quick version before the detail.
- You run a paid community or membership with courses and live events: Circle. Community is its core product, and the 1:1 tools CoachAccountable offers would go unused.
- You coach individuals and want structured accountability between sessions (action plans, metrics, worksheets): CoachAccountable. That is the job it was built for, and every plan includes the full feature set.
- You sell programs that mix 1:1 sessions, group calls, a community and daily habits or check-ins: Coachful. It covers both halves, so you avoid paying for and stitching together two tools.
- You need a website, funnels and email to get clients in the first place: Coachful. Circle includes a website on its plans and email through a paid add-on; CoachAccountable does not offer landing pages, a website or marketing automation, per our September 2026 profile.
- You coach a very small number of 1:1 clients and only need a back office: CoachAccountable's two-client Starter plan is a low-cost way in.
How do Circle and CoachAccountable compare side by side?
They overlap less than most comparisons suggest. Circle leads on community, events and branding; CoachAccountable leads on per-client accountability tools. The criteria behind our ranking: one login for the whole client journey, between-session delivery, total stack cost, and setup effort (including the free white-glove build).
| Tool | Best for | 1:1 client management | Community | Habits and check-ins | Website and funnels | Entry price |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Coaches who deliver programs, 1:1 and group | Yes: client record with goals, notes, sessions, payments, status | Yes: feed, group chat, DMs, video events, auto cohort groups | Yes: daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, streaks | Yes: site builder, funnels, email sequences | Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients |
| Circle | Paid communities, memberships, cohort courses | No 1:1 scheduling or client back office (per our September 2026 profile) | Yes, its core product | No per-client habits or check-ins (per our September 2026 profile) | Website on every plan; Email Hub is a paid add-on | $89/mo billed annually (Professional) |
| CoachAccountable | 1:1 coaching back office | Yes: sessions, action plans, metrics, worksheets, agreements | Not a core feature | Action plans and metrics | No landing pages, website or marketing automation (per our September 2026 profile) | $20/mo for 2 active clients (Starter) |
The table makes the main point plain: Circle and CoachAccountable each own one column that the other leaves mostly empty. A coach who needs a community and structured 1:1 accountability ends up paying for both, then sending clients to two logins.

How does Circle vs CoachAccountable pricing compare?
Circle charges by plan tier plus a percentage of what you sell; CoachAccountable charges by how many active clients you have. That difference decides which is cheaper for you far more than the headline numbers do.
Circle's pricing, as listed in October 2026
Circle shows USD prices on annual billing only. Professional is $89 per month billed annually, Business is $199, and Scale is $419; Circle Plus is custom priced. Monthly-billed prices are no longer shown on the page; our September 2026 profile recorded Professional at $129 and Business at $219 billed monthly, so expect to pay more without an annual commitment. Each paid tier comes with a 14-day free trial and no credit card required.
Two costs sit on top of the plan. First, Circle takes a fee on payments you collect through Circle Payments: 2% on Professional, 1% on Business and Scale, and 0.5% on Circle Plus, plus Stripe processing. Second, add-ons: Email Hub is $99 per month for 10,000 contacts (first 30 days at no charge, included in Plus), extra AI credits are $10 per 1,000, an extra admin is $10 per month, branded email notifications are $40 per month on Professional, and custom profile fields are $49 per month on Professional. Branded mobile apps are only on Circle Plus.

CoachAccountable's pricing, as listed in October 2026
CoachAccountable prices by active clients, and only active clients count. The ladder runs $20 per month for 2 clients, $40 for 5, $70 for 10, $120 for 20, $200 for 35, $250 for 50, $340 for 75 and $400 for 100, climbing to $4,000 for 1,000 clients. Every plan has the full feature set with unlimited coaches and admins, the page says there are no add-ons to purchase, and there is no annual pricing or discount. The trial is 30 days, with no credit card and no limits.

| Tool | How it charges | Entry plan | Fee on your sales | Trial | Main extras |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Flat monthly plans; lower plans cap clients, Pro is unlimited, team plans add seats | Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients | 0% platform fee; only Stripe or Razorpay processing | A free trial | AI credits for confirmed AI builds and changes |
| Circle | Flat tiers (annual prices shown) plus a fee on payments | Professional, $89/mo billed annually | 2% Professional, 1% Business and Scale, 0.5% Plus, plus Stripe | 14 days, no card | Email Hub $99/mo, admins, AI credits, branded apps on Plus only |
| CoachAccountable | Per active client, monthly only | Starter, $20/mo for 2 active clients | Not stated on the pricing page; processor fees apply | 30 days, no card | None (no add-ons) |
What would each cost at your size?
Here is how the bills look at common roster sizes. The Circle figures are the plan price alone; add its payment fee. As an example, a coach collecting $6,000 a month through Circle Payments on Professional would pay about $120 a month in Circle fees on top of the $89 plan and Stripe processing. These are illustrations, not quotes.
| Tool | 5 clients | 15 clients | 40 clients | 100+ clients |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients | Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients | Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients | Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients |
| Circle (Professional, annual) | $89/mo plus 2% of sales | $89/mo plus 2% of sales | $89/mo plus 2% of sales | $89/mo plus 2% of sales |
| CoachAccountable | $40/mo | $120/mo (20-client tier) | $250/mo (50-client tier) | $400/mo at 100 |
The pattern is clear. CoachAccountable is inexpensive for a small 1:1 roster and gets steep as you grow, which is why our September 2026 profile flagged it as expensive for large group programs. Circle's plan limits cover admins, moderators and AI credits rather than a per-client charge, but its percentage fee grows with your revenue, and it still leaves you without a 1:1 back office. If you run both, the two bills add up: at 40 clients that is $250 for CoachAccountable plus $89 for Circle plus Circle's fee, before any email or scheduling tool. For a deeper look at each, see our guides to Circle pricing and CoachAccountable pricing.
Which is better for community and group coaching?
Circle, clearly, if community is the product. It lists community, courses, live events, a member directory, gamification and analytics on every paid plan, with Circle-branded apps for iOS, Android and desktop. Business adds workflows (20 automations, 20 scheduled and 20 bulk actions a month), custom profile fields, APIs and MCP, activity scores, branded email notifications and white-labeling. Scale adds AI agents, AI workflows, unlimited workflows, webhooks and custom SSO.
The limits are worth knowing. Live attendees and live hours are metered add-ons ($20 per month per 100 attendees, $50 per month per 10 hours), extra spaces cost $20 per month per 10, and extra moderators $20 per month per 10. Large live programs can push the bill above the plan price.
CoachAccountable is not built around a member-to-member community. Its strengths are the individual relationship, so a group coach who wants members talking to each other would need a second tool. If you are weighing Circle against other community tools, our Circle alternatives for group coaches and Circle vs Mighty Networks comparisons go further.
Coachful sits in between. It has a community feed, group chat, direct messages and video events, plus group calls and webinars, and it creates a cohort group automatically when a client enrolls in a program. It does not try to match Circle's depth of community admin tooling, such as its workflow and API options on higher tiers, so a coach running a large standalone membership may still prefer Circle.

Which handles 1:1 clients, sessions and scheduling better?
CoachAccountable, by a wide margin over Circle. CoachAccountable handles sessions, action plans, metrics, worksheets, agreements and invoicing per client, and previous clients keep lifetime access to their records. Circle does not document 1:1 scheduling or a client management back office, per our September 2026 profile, so Circle users usually add a separate booking tool.
Coachful covers the same ground with more around it. Booking pages have availability rules, buffers, minimum notice and time-zone detection, with two-way Google, Apple/iCloud and Outlook calendar sync. Sessions get built-in video or auto-created Zoom, Meet or Teams links. Reminders go by email, plus SMS (24 hours before) and WhatsApp (1 hour before) once messaging is enabled. You can sell paid sessions and session credits, ask intake questions on booking, and assign multi-coach session types by round robin or least busy.

The client record is where the 1:1 work lives. In Coachful each client has goals, check-ins, habits, notes, intake answers, tags, payments, sessions and an AI briefing, and a status of thriving, active, quiet or at risk, so you can see who needs attention before a session. The video below walks through the clients area.

Which is better for accountability between sessions?
CoachAccountable is better than Circle here, because accountability is in its name and its design: action plans, metrics and worksheets assigned to each client. Circle can host a course or a discussion thread, but it does not document per-client habits, check-ins or coaching plans, per our September 2026 profile.
Coachful goes further on daily delivery. You build multi-week programs with weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars and streaks. Clients see those in their branded home and app, and you see completion and check-in rates on the client record. If habit tracking is the main reason you use CoachAccountable today, our guide to tracking client habits without CoachAccountable shows a worked setup.

Coachful also includes Michelle, a built-in AI assistant that works from your live practice data. It can build a program, draft emails, summarize recorded sessions and brief you before a session; it can also give optional private feedback on your own coaching against ICF Core Competencies 3 to 8. Questions and planning are included in your Coachful membership, and confirmed builds and changes use AI credits. Separately, an AI Coach lets selected clients chat with an AI version of you between sessions, configured by you.
How do courses and content compare?
Circle is the stronger course host of the two. Courses sit alongside community on every plan, so lessons and discussion live in the same place, which suits cohort courses. CoachAccountable includes courses as part of its back office, which works well for assigning material to individual clients rather than running a public course business.
Coachful includes courses with modules, lessons, drip and completion tracking, plus downloads, videos, books, AI tools, events and bundles, all delivered into the client's branded home and app. It ships 48 course templates with quizzes and more than 40 ready-to-film program templates. It is not a course marketplace, though: you sell to your own audience, not through a catalog of other creators. See our course platform for coaches page for detail.
How do payments, invoicing and fees compare?
CoachAccountable is the cleaner deal on fees; Circle is the cleaner deal on built-in checkout for memberships. Circle Payments runs on Stripe and takes 0.5% to 2% depending on plan. CoachAccountable's pricing page does not state a platform fee; processor fees apply, and our September 2026 profile lists Stripe, Square and PayPal as supported processors. CoachAccountable also handles invoicing.
Coachful charges a 0% platform fee (since August 2026), so you pay only Stripe or Razorpay processing through your own connected account. It supports one-time payments, subscriptions, payment plans, order bumps, coupons, refunds, Apple Pay and Google Pay, and Stripe Tax, with an invoice per transaction plus manual invoices. Coaching agreements with e-signature can go out before the first call and are stored on the client record. One honest gap: Coachful does not support PayPal, so if your clients pay that way, CoachAccountable is the better fit on this point.

Which helps you get clients: website, funnels and email?
Circle does, of the two. Its plans include a website and custom domain, and Email Hub adds email marketing for $99 per month per 10,000 contacts. CoachAccountable has no landing pages, website or marketing automation, per our September 2026 profile, so you would pair it with a separate site and email tool.
Coachful includes a section-based website builder with a blog, custom domain, SEO settings, 30 designed homepage templates and an Import website option. It has booking, application, lead-magnet and checkout funnels with pixels and UTM tracking, a link-in-bio page that sells, and email lists, broadcasts and multi-step sequences with triggers, delays, branching and A/B splits. A social planner schedules posts to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Threads and YouTube, and Instagram automations can send a booking link or lead magnet by DM when someone comments a keyword. It is not a general website builder for non-coaching sites, and it has no third-party plugins. More on our coach website builder page.
What is the client experience like on each?
On Circle, clients get a polished community with Circle-branded iOS, Android and desktop apps; your own branded apps require custom-priced Circle Plus. On CoachAccountable, clients get a private space with their action plans, sessions and worksheets, and our September 2026 profile notes there is no native mobile app. In both cases, a coach using the two tools together sends clients to two separate places.
That second login matters more than it looks. A client who books in one tool, checks in somewhere else and talks to the group in a third place drifts. Coachful's client app shows your branding inside the Coachful app, with sessions, programs, habits, check-ins, courses and the community in one place. It ships under the Coachful listing rather than your own App Store account, which is the trade-off to know.

What about data export, privacy and switching later?
Both let you leave with your core data, with different gaps. CoachAccountable exports full coaching history per client from the Clients tab and offers bulk CSV import. Circle lets you export members and subscriptions as CSV at any time, but our September 2026 profile notes there is no bulk export of posts and content.
Coachful exports full client data as a ZIP (roster, notes, check-ins, goals, habits, sessions and form responses), plus course export, and imports your clients, programs and content for you during onboarding. Coachful is GDPR-ready but not HIPAA-certified and offers no BAA. CoachAccountable states it is not HIPAA compliant, per our September 2026 profile. If you hold clinical records or bill insurance, use a clinical system and keep coaching separate. Migration guides: from CoachAccountable and from Circle.
Which should you pick for which kind of coach?
Match the tool to how your clients actually move through your offer. Here is our honest read, with Coachful as the default for coaches whose offer spans 1:1 and group.
| Your situation | Best fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Coachful: programs mixing 1:1, group, habits and a community | Coachful | One login and one bill for booking, payments, delivery, community, courses and website |
| Standalone paid community or membership | Circle | Deepest community, events and admin tooling of the three |
| Small 1:1 roster, back office only, already have a website | CoachAccountable | Low entry price, full features on every plan, no add-ons |
| Clients who pay by PayPal | CoachAccountable | Lists PayPal among processors (per our September 2026 profile) |
| Coaching team needing many admins at low cost | CoachAccountable or Coachful team plans | CoachAccountable includes unlimited coaches and admins; Coachful's Studio and Agency plans add coach seats with permissions |
Pick Circle over Coachful if your business is primarily a large community or membership, you want workflows, APIs, webhooks or SSO for community operations, or you plan to pay for fully branded apps on Circle Plus.
Pick CoachAccountable over Coachful if you coach only a handful of 1:1 clients, already have a website and email you like, need PayPal, or want the specific action-plan and metrics workflow CoachAccountable is known for. Its Trustpilot score was 4.8 from 47 reviews when we checked in October 2026, against Circle's 4.1 from 129.

Is there a third option that covers both? Coachful, honestly
Yes. Coachful is a coaching platform where one subscription covers booking, payments, contracts, program delivery with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant. The coach has one login and the client has one branded app. It is built for coaches who deliver programs, not just sessions; solo coaches growing into a small team; and coaches replacing 4 to 6 tools. The company is based in Tallinn, Estonia, and holds a Trustpilot score of 4.5 from 21 reviews.
When Coachful beats both
- Your offer is 1:1 plus group. Circle lacks the back office and CoachAccountable lacks the community. Coachful runs both, and enrolling a client in a program creates their cohort group automatically.
- You want daily delivery, not just a weekly call. Habits, morning and evening check-ins, streaks and goals with progress bars come with programs.
- You are paying for several tools. Website, funnels, email, scheduling, payments and community sit in one bill, with a 0% platform fee on your sales.
- Your roster is growing. Flat plans with a client cap on the lower tiers and an unlimited Pro plan (current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients), instead of a per-active-client ladder or a percentage of revenue.
- You track ICF hours. Coachful counts coaching hours and distinct clients against ACC, PCC and MCC thresholds and exports an ICF client coaching log. See ICF hour tracking.
When Coachful does not beat them
- You need PayPal: Coachful does not support it.
- You want your own App Store listing: the client app ships under Coachful's listing with your branding.
- You run a pure community business and want Circle-level admin tools, APIs and SSO.
- You need HIPAA, a BAA, clinical records or insurance billing.
- You need wearable sync (Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop, Oura), a Salesforce or HubSpot integration, a multi-stage sales deal board, or routing forms that pick a host from answers.
- You need affiliate payouts sent automatically: Coachful tracks affiliate links, clicks, conversions and revenue, but payouts are recorded manually.
Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. On every plan, you can go to Create, choose "We'll build it for you · FREE", and describe what you want: a website, funnel, sales page, program, course outline and written material, email sequence, form, link in bio, lead quiz, event, automation or something else. You can attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files such as logos, photos, brand guides and copy. The Coachful team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours. Nothing is invented: no fake credentials, testimonials or prices, and gaps are left for you to fill. It does not include recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing. Recent builds include a five-page site in sage and cream for a menopause and midlife health coach starting from nothing, with every button leading to a 20-minute consultation, and a 12-week mentorship sales page, start-up-guide funnel and rewritten follow-up emails for a business mentor to beauty professionals. Read more about the white-glove build service.

How would you move to Coachful from Circle or CoachAccountable?
Start a free trial, then let the onboarding team import your clients, programs and content. From there the steps depend on where you are coming from.
- Export what you have. From CoachAccountable, use the per-client Export on the Clients tab. From Circle, download the members and subscriptions CSVs, and save any posts you want to keep, since there is no bulk content export per our September 2026 profile.
- Connect payments. Link your own Stripe or Razorpay account. Existing subscriptions live in your processor, so plan how to move each one rather than cancelling abruptly.
- Rebuild the program. Turn CoachAccountable action plans into a Coachful program with weekly goals, daily tasks and check-ins, or start from one of the program templates. Michelle can draft the structure from a description.
- Set up the community. Recreate your Circle spaces as community channels and let program enrollment create cohort groups.
- Request the build. Ask the white-glove team for your website or funnel while you handle the client-facing announcement.
- Invite clients in stages. Move a small group first, check their sessions and payments, then the rest.

Frequently asked questions
Is Circle or CoachAccountable better for coaches?
It depends on your offer. Circle is better for communities, memberships and cohort courses; CoachAccountable is better for structured 1:1 accountability with action plans, metrics and worksheets. Coaches who need both often look at an all-in-one tool instead of paying for two.
Which is cheaper, Circle or CoachAccountable?
For a small 1:1 roster, CoachAccountable is cheaper: $40 a month covers 5 active clients, as listed in October 2026. Circle's Professional plan is $89 a month billed annually plus a 2% fee on payments, but it does not charge per client. Past about 20 clients, CoachAccountable's ladder usually costs more.
Does Circle have 1:1 scheduling?
Circle does not document 1:1 scheduling or a client management back office, per our September 2026 profile. Coaches using Circle typically add a separate booking tool and link to it from the community.
Does CoachAccountable have a community feature?
A member-to-member community is not CoachAccountable's focus; it is built around the individual coaching relationship. Group coaches who want members to interact usually pair it with a community platform.
Can I use Circle and CoachAccountable together?
Yes, and some coaches do. The cost is two bills, two logins for your clients and manual work keeping enrollments in sync. If that is your plan, compare the combined price against a single platform that covers both.
Does Circle charge transaction fees?
Yes. Circle takes 2% of payments on Professional, 1% on Business and Scale, and 0.5% on Circle Plus, on top of Stripe processing, as listed in October 2026.
Do Circle or CoachAccountable offer a free trial?
Both do. Circle offers 14 days on Professional, Business and Scale with no credit card. CoachAccountable offers 30 days with no credit card and no limits.
What is Coachful's free white-glove service?
On every plan, the Coachful team will build a website, funnel, program, course outline, email sequence or similar inside your account, usually within about 24 hours. You describe what you want and attach references; nothing is invented, and gaps are left for you. It does not cover video recording, logo design, ads or ongoing marketing.
Is any of these HIPAA compliant?
Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and offers no BAA, and CoachAccountable states it is not HIPAA compliant, per our September 2026 profile. Coaching is not medical treatment; if you keep clinical records or bill insurance, use a dedicated clinical system.
How do I move my clients off CoachAccountable or Circle?
Export client history from CoachAccountable per client, or members and subscriptions CSVs from Circle, then import them into the new platform. Coachful imports clients, programs and content for you during onboarding. Our CoachAccountable migration guide covers the timeline step by step.
