CoachAccountable vs Healthie: Which Fits Coaches in 2026?

CoachAccountable vs Healthie: Which Fits Coaches in 2026?

In the CoachAccountable vs Healthie decision, the honest short answer is this: CoachAccountable is a coaching back office (sessions, action plans, metrics, worksheets, invoicing) priced by how many active clients you have, while Healthie is HIPAA-ready practice management for dietitians and nutrition and wellness providers, with charting, telehealth and insurance add-ons. If you coach behaviour change and never handle clinical records, CoachAccountable fits the job more closely. If you are a licensed provider who charts, bills insurance or needs a signed BAA, Healthie is built for you. Most non-clinical coaches end up paying for features they do not use in one, or bolting on a website and marketing tools to the other.

We make Coachful, a coaching platform that covers the same ground plus programs, courses, community and a website, so we also cover it below as a third option, including the cases where it is the wrong pick. Every CoachAccountable and Healthie price here is as listed on their pricing pages in October 2026.

What is the short answer on CoachAccountable vs Healthie, by use case?

Pick by what your work actually is, not by feature count. The two tools were built for different professions, and that shows in almost every screen.

  • Life, business or executive coach with 1:1 clients: CoachAccountable. Its action plans, metrics and worksheets are designed around coaching accountability, and you will not pay for clinical charting.
  • Registered dietitian, nutritionist or licensed wellness provider: Healthie. The BAA takes effect automatically when the account is created, and insurance claims and e-prescribing are available as add-ons.
  • Health or wellness coach who is not a clinician: neither is a perfect fit. Healthie's clinical layer is overhead you do not need, and CoachAccountable gets expensive as your client count grows. This is the case where a coaching platform with habits, check-ins and programs, such as Coachful, usually fits better.
  • Coach running group programs with 50 or more people: Healthie Essentials (up to 250 active clients) costs far less than CoachAccountable at that size, but a coaching platform with flat, unlimited-client plans is worth comparing too.
  • Coach who also wants a website, funnels and email: neither covers that well. CoachAccountable did not offer landing pages, a website or marketing automation in our earlier research, and Healthie is a practice tool, not a marketing one.

How do CoachAccountable and Healthie compare side by side?

CoachAccountable wins on coaching-specific accountability tools; Healthie wins on compliance and clinical workflow. The table below adds Coachful because many readers searching this comparison are coaches rather than clinicians.

How we rank: one login for the whole client journey, between-session delivery, total stack cost, and setup effort (including the free white-glove build).

One detail matters more than it looks: both CoachAccountable and Healthie count active clients, not everyone who ever booked a call. That makes either one cheaper than it seems if you run short engagements, and more expensive if you keep alumni on a monthly check-in.

What do CoachAccountable and Healthie cost?

At small client counts the two are close; past about 20 active clients Healthie is much cheaper, and past 50 the gap becomes large. CoachAccountable has one ladder priced per active client with no annual discount. Healthie has four public tiers, a lower price on annual billing, and paid add-ons for clinical features.

CoachAccountable pricing in detail

CoachAccountable's ladder, as listed in October 2026, runs: 2 active clients for $20, 5 for $40, 10 for $70, 20 for $120, 35 for $200, 50 for $250, 75 for $340, 100 for $400, and on up to 500 for $2,000 and 1,000 for $4,000 a month. Every plan includes the full feature set and unlimited coaches and admins. The page answers "Nope!" to annual discounts and says there are no add-ons to buy. The trial is 30 days with no credit card and no limits.

The strength of this model is simplicity: you never hit a feature wall. The weakness is that a group program scales your bill linearly. A 60-person cohort sits on the 75-client tier at $340 a month, every month the cohort is active. Our full CoachAccountable pricing breakdown works through more scenarios.

Healthie pricing in detail

Healthie's public plans, as listed in October 2026:

  • Core: $19.99/month, or $18/month billed annually, up to 10 active clients.
  • Essentials: $49.99/month, or $45/month annually, up to 250 active clients.
  • Plus: $129.99/month, or $115/month annually, unlimited clients.
  • Group: $149.99/month, or $135/month annually, for 1 provider and 1 support seat, then $50/month per extra provider.
  • Enterprise: quote only.

Add-ons listed: ClaimMD insurance claims (shown as $30/month, or $25/month plus a $50 to $100 setup fee), DoseSpot e-prescribing at $40 per clinician per month, an inbound eFax line at $10/month, and AI charting with no published price. Card payments run through Stripe at 2.9% + $0.30. One caution: Healthie's plan cards and its comparison table disagree on which tier includes online programs and ClaimMD, so confirm with Healthie before you choose a tier for programs.

A worked example: 20 active clients

Here is an illustrative example, not a quote. A wellness coach with 20 active 1:1 clients pays $120/month on CoachAccountable or $49.99/month on Healthie Essentials (or $45 annually). Neither price includes a website, email marketing or a sales funnel, so a coach who needs those adds separate subscriptions on top. On Coachful at the same size (Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients), the website, funnels and email are included in your Coachful membership, which is why total stack cost, not the software line alone, is the number to compare.

How do scheduling and sessions compare?

Both tools handle booking and session records; CoachAccountable organises everything around the coaching session, and Healthie around the clinical appointment. CoachAccountable ties sessions to notes, action items and metrics, so the session becomes the anchor for what the client does next. Healthie treats the appointment as part of a care record, with charting and telehealth built in, which is valuable when you must document care and unnecessary when you do not.

Questions to ask either vendor before signing up:

  • Does the calendar sync two ways with the calendar you already use?
  • Can a client buy a package of sessions and book against the remaining credits?
  • Are video links created automatically, or do you paste them in?
  • Can you collect intake answers at the moment of booking?

For comparison, Coachful's booking pages include availability rules, buffers, minimum notice and time-zone detection, two-way Google, Apple/iCloud and Outlook sync, built-in video or auto-created Zoom, Meet and Teams links, paid sessions and session credits, and intake questions on booking. Reminders go by email, plus SMS 24 hours and WhatsApp 1 hour before once messaging is enabled. See the scheduling software page for the details.

How do programs, action plans and habit tracking compare?

CoachAccountable is stronger for structured accountability between sessions; Healthie's program features exist but are aimed at nutrition and wellness care plans. This is the area where a coach's choice usually gets decided, because the work between calls is what clients pay for.

CoachAccountable's core is action plans, metrics and worksheets. A coach assigns actions with due dates, tracks numbers the client reports (weight, sales calls, hours slept), and sends worksheets to complete before a session. It also offers courses. Public reviewers on Trustpilot rate it 4.8 from 47 reviews as of October 2026.

Healthie lists online programs, but the pricing page is inconsistent on which tier includes them. Its strength is the care record: charting, forms and documentation a licensed provider needs. Healthie's Trustpilot score was 4.0 from 5 reviews as of October 2026, too few reviews to read much into.

If daily habits and check-ins are central to your method, look at a tool built around them. Coachful runs multi-week programs with weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars and streaks. We wrote a separate guide on tracking client habits without CoachAccountable.

Here is a short walkthrough of how check-ins work in Coachful:

How do payments, invoicing and agreements compare?

Both take card payments, but they connect to different processors and neither publishes a platform fee on client payments. CoachAccountable handles invoicing and coaching agreements inside the app, and earlier research listed Stripe, Square and PayPal as supported processors. Healthie processes payments through Stripe at 2.9% + $0.30 per card charge, with insurance claims available through the ClaimMD add-on.

Most coaches do not bill insurance, so this add-on rarely matters for them. If you are a dietitian who bills insurance, Healthie's ClaimMD add-on is a real reason to pick it.

Coachful connects to the coach's own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account for one-time payments, subscriptions, payment plans, order bumps, coupons, refunds, Apple Pay and Google Pay, with Stripe Tax and an invoice per transaction. Coachful charges a 0% platform fee on client payments (since August 2026), so only processing fees apply. Coaching agreements with e-signature go out before the first call and stay on the client record. It does not support PayPal. More on the payment software page and coaching contracts page.

Does HIPAA matter when choosing between CoachAccountable and Healthie?

HIPAA matters if you are a covered entity, such as a health care provider who bills insurance electronically, and usually does not apply to independent coaches who do not. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services explains who counts as a covered entity. If you are unsure whether it applies to your practice, check with an attorney who knows health privacy law in your state.

Healthie's BAA takes effect automatically when the account is created, which is a real advantage for licensed providers. CoachAccountable said in our earlier research that it is not HIPAA compliant. Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and offers no BAA, so it is not the place for clinical records or insurance billing.

A scope line for health and wellness coaches: coaching supports behaviour change, it is not diagnosis or treatment. Refer clients to a physician, registered dietitian or mental health professional when you see signs such as disordered eating, unexplained weight loss, chest pain or dizziness during exercise, medication questions, or thoughts of self-harm. The National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching publishes scope-of-practice guidance for board-certified coaches. If your work includes clinical care, keep those records in a clinical system such as Healthie, and use coaching software only for the coaching side.

Which one looks like you?

Coachful builds your coaching website from a few answers, in a design chosen for your niche, with programs, booking and payments ready behind it.

Build your platform

What is the client experience like on each?

CoachAccountable's client side is a web portal focused on actions and metrics; Healthie's is a care portal for appointments, forms and messages. Neither is designed as a branded home for programs, courses and community.

In our earlier research, CoachAccountable did not have a native mobile app, so clients used it in a mobile browser. That works for a few check-ins a week, less well for daily habits. Previous clients keep lifetime access to their records, which is a thoughtful touch for alumni.

Healthie includes a client portal alongside booking, charting and Stripe payments. Because the product is built around care records, it suits a dietitian's practice and may feel more clinical than a coaching client expects.

In Coachful, clients get one branded home, inside the Coachful app with the coach's branding, for sessions, programs, habits, check-ins, courses and community. Cohort groups are created automatically when someone enrolls in a program.

CoachAccountable: the verdict

CoachAccountable is a mature coaching back office with the full feature set on every plan, unlimited coaches and admins, a 30-day no-card trial and strong public reviews. Its per-active-client pricing is fair for small rosters and steep for groups. Read our CoachAccountable review for the long version. Pick it over Coachful if you coach a small 1:1 roster, want detailed metric tracking, need PayPal or Square, and already have a website and email tool you like.

Healthie: the verdict

Healthie is the stronger tool for clinicians, with an automatic BAA, charting, telehealth and add-ons for insurance claims and e-prescribing. Its client caps are generous: 250 active clients on Essentials is a lot of room. Compare it with another clinical option in Practice Better vs Healthie. Pick it over Coachful if you are a licensed provider who needs a BAA, keeps clinical records or bills insurance.

Is there a third option? Coachful, honestly

Yes: for coaches who are not clinicians and who deliver programs rather than single sessions, Coachful usually fits better than either tool. It is not the right pick for everyone, and the limits are listed below.

What Coachful is. Coachful is a coaching platform. One subscription covers booking, payments, contracts, program delivery with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant, with one login for the coach and one branded app for the client. It is based in Tallinn, Estonia, and rated 4.5 on Trustpilot from 21 reviews.

Who it is for. Coaches who deliver programs, not just sessions; solo coaches growing into a small team; and coaches replacing four to six separate tools. Health coaches can add the Fitness & Nutrition pack for workouts, nutrition targets, meal plans, private progress photos and weekly check-ins. There is more on the health coach page.

When it beats both.

  • Between-session delivery: programs with weekly goals, daily tasks, habits and morning and evening check-ins, where CoachAccountable leans on action items and Healthie on care plans.
  • Total stack cost: the website, funnels, email sequences, courses and community are included in your Coachful membership, so you are not paying for a separate site builder and email tool next to your back office.
  • Groups: Pro has unlimited clients (Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients), so a large cohort does not move you up a per-client ladder.
  • Credentials: ICF credential tracking counts coaching hours and distinct clients against ACC, PCC and MCC thresholds and exports an ICF client coaching log. See ICF hour tracking.
  • AI help: Michelle, the built-in assistant, works from live practice data, builds programs, drafts emails, summarizes recorded sessions and briefs you before each session. Questions and planning are included in the membership; confirmed builds and changes use AI credits.

Coachful's coaching flows library with the Welcome flow and the morning and evening check-ins.

When it does not.

  • It is not HIPAA-certified and has no BAA, so it is not for clinical records or insurance billing. Healthie wins here.
  • No PayPal, and no permanent free plan.
  • The client app runs under the Coachful listing with your branding, not under your own App Store account.
  • No Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop or Oura sync, and no stock exercise videos; you attach your own demo videos.
  • No Salesforce or HubSpot integration and no multi-stage deal board for large sales teams.

How to start. Start a free trial, then use the free white-glove build service to have your website, a funnel or your first program built inside your account. Your clients, programs and content are imported for you during onboarding. Current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients.

Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. From Create, the "We'll build it for you" card lets you describe what you want built: a website, funnel, sales page, program, course outline, coaching flow, email sequence, form or lead quiz. You can attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files such as logos, photos and brand guides. The Coachful team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours, and invents nothing: no fake credentials, testimonials or prices, with gaps left for you to fill. For example, a menopause and midlife health coach starting from nothing got a five-page site in sage and cream with every button leading to a free 20-minute consultation. It does not include recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing. Read more about the free white-glove service.

How do you switch without losing client history?

Export first, then rebuild your active clients' programs before you cancel the old tool. CoachAccountable has a per-client Export on the Clients tab that exports full coaching history, plus bulk CSV import. Healthie's data export was not confirmed in official documentation when we checked, so ask Healthie support for the export format before you commit, and keep any clinical records in a compliant system.

A practical order:

  1. Export every active client's history and save it in a secure folder.
  2. Set up your new booking page and payment account before you move anyone.
  3. Rebuild your current programs, then invite clients in small batches.
  4. Run both tools in parallel for one billing cycle so no session falls through.
  5. Cancel the old subscription once the last client has moved.

Our step-by-step guide on migrating from CoachAccountable covers data, payments and timeline. On Coachful, clients, programs and content are imported for you during onboarding, and you can export everything later as a ZIP (roster, notes, check-ins, goals, habits, sessions and form responses).

Frequently asked questions

Is CoachAccountable or Healthie cheaper?

At 10 or fewer active clients, Healthie Core ($19.99/month) costs less than CoachAccountable's $40 (5 clients) or $70 (10 clients) tiers. At 20 to 250 active clients, Healthie Essentials at $49.99/month is far cheaper than CoachAccountable, which reaches $250/month at 50 clients. Healthie's clinical add-ons, such as insurance claims and e-prescribing, cost extra.

Is CoachAccountable HIPAA compliant?

CoachAccountable stated it was not HIPAA compliant in our earlier research. If you need a signed BAA, Healthie's takes effect automatically when the account is created. Confirm current terms with each vendor before storing health information.

Can a health coach use Healthie without being a dietitian?

Healthie is built for dietitians, nutrition and wellness providers, so ask Healthie directly whether your practice fits. The bigger question is whether you will use the charting, telehealth and insurance features you are paying for. Many non-clinical coaches find a coaching platform with habits and programs a closer fit.

Does CoachAccountable have a mobile app?

Our earlier research found no native mobile app; clients used a mobile browser. Check CoachAccountable's site for the current state before deciding.

Do CoachAccountable or Healthie offer annual discounts?

CoachAccountable says no, with no discounts and no add-ons. Healthie lists lower monthly rates on annual billing, for example $18 instead of $19.99 on Core and $45 instead of $49.99 on Essentials.

Which tool is better for group coaching programs?

Healthie's client caps (250 on Essentials) handle groups more cheaply than CoachAccountable's per-client ladder. For group programs with cohorts, community and courses, a coaching platform built for groups, such as Coachful, fits better; see the group coaching software page.

Is Coachful HIPAA compliant?

No. Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and does not sign a BAA. Keep clinical records and insurance billing in a clinical system, and use Coachful for the coaching side of your work.

What is Coachful's free white-glove service?

It is a free build service on every plan: you describe a website, funnel, program, course outline, email sequence or similar, attach references, and the Coachful team builds it inside your account, usually within about 24 hours. It does not include video recording, logo design or ad management. Nothing is invented; gaps are left for you to fill.

Can I try these tools before paying?

CoachAccountable offers a 30-day trial with no credit card. Healthie lists a free trial. Coachful offers a free trial too, plus the free white-glove build so you can see your own setup before committing.
