Practice Better vs CoachAccountable in 2026: Which Fits You?

Practice Better vs CoachAccountable in 2026: Which Fits You?

Practice Better vs CoachAccountable comes down to what your clients need between sessions. Practice Better is practice management for wellness and nutrition practitioners: scheduling, telehealth video, charting, billing and a client portal, with clinical add-ons such as ePrescribe and fax. CoachAccountable is an accountability back office: action plans, metrics, worksheets, agreements and invoicing, priced by how many active clients you have. If you chart like a clinician, Practice Better fits better. If your coaching runs on commitments and follow-through, CoachAccountable fits better. If you also need a website, funnels, a community and a branded client app, neither covers it alone.

We make Coachful, a third option that we will compare honestly at the end, including the cases where it is the wrong choice. Everything about the two vendors below comes from their own pricing pages as listed in October 2026, plus what public reviewers report. We have not run hands-on tests of either product, so we describe what each vendor documents.

What is the short answer, by type of coach?

Pick by the shape of your practice, not by the feature count. The two tools overlap on scheduling, invoicing and client records, but they were built for different people.

  • Nutrition, functional health or dietetics-adjacent practitioners who write session notes like charts, may need telehealth, and might later add ePrescribe: Practice Better.
  • Life, executive, business and accountability coaches who assign actions, track metrics and want clients nudged between calls: CoachAccountable.
  • Coaches with a small roster who want to start at no cost: Practice Better's free Sprout plan (3 clients) or CoachAccountable's 30-day trial with no card.
  • Group program or high-volume coaches: Practice Better's flat tiers usually cost less than CoachAccountable's per-active-client ladder once you pass about 20 clients.
  • Small teams where several coaches share clients: CoachAccountable includes unlimited coaches and admins on every plan; Practice Better charges for a Team plan and per extra practitioner.
  • Coaches who sell programs, run a community and want their own website and funnels in the same login: neither. That is where Coachful fits.

How do Practice Better and CoachAccountable compare side by side?

Ranked on one login for the whole client journey, between-session delivery, total stack cost and setup effort, here is how the three options line up.

Two things stand out. CoachAccountable's reviewers are happier on average, and its full feature set is on every plan. Practice Better has a deeper clinical toolset and a far cheaper path to large rosters, but more of its features sit behind higher tiers and add-ons.

Which is cheaper, Practice Better or CoachAccountable?

CoachAccountable is cheaper for very small rosters; Practice Better is cheaper from about 10 clients upward, and dramatically cheaper at 50 or more. The reason is the pricing model. CoachAccountable charges by active clients on a single ladder, while Practice Better charges flat tiers with large client caps.

Practice Better pricing page with Sprout, Starter, Professional, Plus and Team plans
Practice Better's pricing page in October 2026.

Practice Better lists five plans as of October 2026: Sprout is free for 3 clients and one practitioner; Starter is $35 a month ($25 billed annually) for 10 clients; Professional is $69 ($59 annually) for 300 clients; Plus is $99 ($89 annually) for unlimited clients; Team is $155 ($145 annually) for 2 practitioners, with more at $50 each. One inconsistency: the Professional card says "Save $84/year", which implies about $62 a month annually, while the table shows $59. Check the page at checkout.

CoachAccountable pricing page with prices by number of active clients
CoachAccountable's pricing page in October 2026.

CoachAccountable's ladder runs from $20 a month for 2 active clients to $40 for 5, $70 for 10, $120 for 20, $200 for 35, $250 for 50, $340 for 75 and $400 for 100, continuing up to $4,000 for 1,000. Only active clients count, so archived clients cost nothing. The page states there are no annual discounts and no add-ons to buy.

Here is what each costs at common roster sizes, on monthly billing.

CoachAccountable$40 (Level 1)$70 (Level 2)$120 (Level 3)$250 (Level 4)$400 (Level 5)

Practice Better's real total depends on add-ons. The pricing page lists an AI Charting Assistant at $10, $20 or $40 per practitioner per month, a Connector Hub at $49 a month (Plus and Team), ePrescribe at $49 a month plus $99 onboarding per prescriber, SMS at 5 cents per text, extra admins at $10 a month and extra storage at $1 per GB. Most coaches will never touch ePrescribe, but SMS reminders and the AI charting tier are common additions. Our Practice Better pricing breakdown works through full totals, and the CoachAccountable pricing guide does the same for the active-client ladder.

One more cost to count: what you still pay for elsewhere. Neither tool includes a website, funnel pages or email marketing according to our September 2026 profiles, so most coaches on either one also pay for a site builder and an email tool.

How do the core features compare?

Both cover sessions, forms and invoices. They diverge on what happens between sessions and on clinical depth. The table below summarises what each vendor documents.

Scheduling and sessions

Practice Better includes scheduling and telehealth video from the Starter plan, with group scheduling arriving on Professional and team scheduling on Team. For practitioners who want video built in rather than a separate Zoom account, that is a genuine convenience. CoachAccountable handles sessions and session records tied to each client's history, which suits coaches who want a clean log of every call. Neither is weak here; Practice Better leans clinical, CoachAccountable leans toward the coaching record.

Action plans, metrics and programs

This is CoachAccountable's home ground. Coaches assign actions with due dates, clients report on metrics, and worksheets collect structured reflection. Practice Better approaches the same need through programs: fixed-date programs on Professional and evergreen, self-paced programs plus program templates on Plus. If you sell a 12-week protocol with weekly content, Practice Better's programs are closer to that shape. If you want a client to commit to three actions and report back by Friday, CoachAccountable is closer. Our guide on tracking client habits without CoachAccountable shows the alternative approach.

Notes, charting and the clinical line

Practice Better offers forms, note templates and charting, with an AI Charting Assistant as an add-on and ePrescribe, PDMP and fax for practitioners who need them. Those are clinical tools, and they are why many registered dietitians and licensed practitioners pick it. Read our explainer on what Practice Better's EHR features do if you are unsure whether you need them. CoachAccountable is a coaching tool and, by its own statement in our September 2026 profile, not HIPAA compliant.

A scope note for health coaches: coaching is not medical treatment. If you are not licensed to diagnose or treat, your notes should record coaching conversations, goals and agreed actions, not diagnoses. Refer clients to a doctor or licensed clinician when they report symptoms, eating disorder signs, medication questions or anything outside behaviour change. If you do hold a clinical licence and keep medical records, use a system designed and contracted for that purpose.

Payments and invoicing

Practice Better processes payments through Practice Better Payments, powered by Stripe; the pricing page does not list a platform fee or the processing rates. Deposits and payment plans arrive on Professional. CoachAccountable includes invoicing on every plan, and our September 2026 profile lists Stripe, Square and PayPal as supported processors, which matters if your clients expect to pay by PayPal. The current pricing page does not state transaction fees beyond the processor's.

Courses, groups and community

CoachAccountable includes courses alongside its coaching tools. Practice Better covers group delivery through programs, group scheduling and group messaging on Professional and above. Neither vendor lists a community feed, a social space for clients to post and support each other, on its pricing page, and neither sells courses through funnels with order bumps and email sequences.

Teams

CoachAccountable is unusually generous: unlimited coaches and admins on every plan, with the bill driven only by active clients. A five-coach firm with 50 active clients pays the same $250 a month as a solo coach with 50. Practice Better's Team plan starts at $155 a month for two practitioners, adds $50 for each extra one, and brings roles, team scheduling, team chat, advanced workflows and team reporting.

Data export

CoachAccountable offers a per-client export of full coaching history from the Clients tab, bulk CSV import, and lifetime record access for previous clients. Practice Better emails a per-client archive (notes, invoices, forms) that stays available for 48 hours, exports the contact list as a spreadsheet, and offers bulk export on request, per our September 2026 profile. If you might move later, both are workable; see migrating from Practice Better and migrating from CoachAccountable.

What does the client experience look like in each?

Practice Better gives clients a portal for booking, forms, messaging, payments and programs, with portal branding and a personalized URL from the Plus plan. Its client portal walkthrough covers what clients see. CoachAccountable gives clients a web portal centred on their action plans, metrics, worksheets and session history; our September 2026 profile notes it has no native mobile app, so clients use the mobile browser.

The difference in feel is real. A Practice Better client experiences something close to a patient portal: tidy, appointment-led and document-heavy. A CoachAccountable client experiences a to-do list with a coach behind it: what did you commit to, did you do it, what are your numbers. Which one your clients respond to depends on your niche. A nutrition client following a protocol likes structure and documents; an executive client often prefers a short list of commitments.

What neither offers is a daily rhythm in a phone app: a morning check-in, an evening reflection, habit streaks, a community feed and course lessons in one place. That gap is where most of our readers end up looking further.

Which should you pick for your type of coaching?

Choose Practice Better if you are a nutrition or wellness practitioner with clinical habits, want telehealth and charting in one place, may need ePrescribe or fax, or expect a large roster on a flat price. It is also the cheaper start if you have three clients or fewer, thanks to the free Sprout plan. Read whether Practice Better fits coaches for the non-clinical view.

Choose CoachAccountable if accountability is your method, your roster is under about 20 active clients, you work with other coaches who need their own logins, or clients pay by PayPal. Its full feature set on every plan and its strong Trustpilot score (4.8 from 47 reviews as listed in October 2026) make it a safe, mature choice. The CoachAccountable review goes deeper.

Look past both if you sell multi-week programs and want clients doing daily work between calls, run group cohorts or a community, need a website and funnels to bring clients in, or are tired of paying for four or five tools that do not talk to each other. Our lists of CoachAccountable alternatives and Practice Better alternatives compare the wider field.

Which one looks like you?

Coachful builds your coaching website from a few answers, in a design chosen for your niche, with programs, booking and payments ready behind it.

Build your platform

Is there a third option that beats both?

For many coaches, yes: Coachful. It is not a clinical system and not a pure accountability log; it is one platform for running the whole coaching business, from the first website visit to the last program week.

A client goal view with daily tasks and habits on a laptop next to a coaching session calendar on a tablet
Coachful's demo goal view with linked daily tasks and habits on a laptop, beside the session calendar on a tablet.

What Coachful is. Coachful is a coaching platform. One subscription covers booking, payments, contracts, program delivery with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant, with one login for the coach and one branded app for the client.

Who it is for. Coaches who deliver programs, not just sessions; solo coaches growing into a small team; and coaches replacing four to six separate tools. See the pages for health coaches and life coaches for niche setups.

What it does not do. Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and offers no BAA, so it is not for clinical record-keeping or insurance billing. There is no PayPal, no permanent free plan, no Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop or Oura sync, and no stock exercise videos. The client app ships under the Coachful listing with your branding, not under your own App Store account.

How to start. Start a free trial, then use the free white-glove build to have your website, funnel or first program set up for you. Current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients.

Where Coachful beats CoachAccountable

CoachAccountable's strength is accountability, and Coachful covers that ground with a different mechanism: programs with weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars and streaks, all inside the client's branded app. Each client record pulls together goals, check-ins, habits, notes, intake answers, payments and sessions, and marks the client as thriving, active, quiet or at risk so you see who is slipping before the next call.

The pricing model differs too. Lower Coachful plans cap clients, but Pro is unlimited, so a 100-client group program does not climb a per-client ladder. Add the website, funnels, email sequences, courses and community that CoachAccountable leaves to other tools, and the total stack usually costs less. The Coachful vs CoachAccountable comparison lays it out line by line.

Here is a short walkthrough of how check-ins work for clients between sessions.

Where Coachful beats Practice Better

For non-clinical coaches, Coachful replaces the portal feel with a coaching home. Booking pages handle availability rules, buffers, minimum notice and time-zone detection, with two-way Google, Apple/iCloud and Outlook sync, built-in video or auto-created Zoom, Meet and Teams links, and email reminders plus SMS and WhatsApp once messaging is enabled. Paid sessions, session credits and intake questions on booking are included in your Coachful membership.

Payments run through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account with one-time payments, subscriptions, payment plans, order bumps, coupons, refunds, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Stripe Tax, plus an invoice per transaction and manual invoices. Coachful has charged a 0% platform fee since August 2026, so you pay only Stripe or Razorpay processing. Coaching agreements go out with e-signature before the first call and are stored on the client record; see coaching contracts.

Clients get one branded home for everything: their next session, programs, progress, documents, courses and the community feed. Cohort groups are created automatically when someone enrols in a program.

Coachful also covers things neither competitor attempts. A section-based website builder with blog, custom domain and 30 designed homepage templates; booking, application, lead-magnet and checkout funnels; email broadcasts and multi-step sequences; Michelle, the built-in AI assistant that builds programs, drafts emails and briefs you before sessions; and ICF credential tracking that counts hours and clients against ACC, PCC and MCC thresholds and exports a client coaching log.

Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. On every plan, you can open Create, choose We'll build it for you, describe what you want, and attach up to 8 reference links and 10 files such as your logo, photos and existing copy. The Coachful team then builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours: a website, funnel, sales page, program, course outline, email sequence, form or automation. Nothing is invented; gaps such as credentials, testimonials or prices are left for you to fill. A menopause and midlife health coach starting from nothing, for example, got a five-page site in sage and cream with every button leading to a free 20-minute consultation. A leadership coach with a Squarespace renewal days away got one clean homepage with a repeated "talk with me" button. It does not include recording videos, logo design or ad management. Details are in our white-glove service guide.

When Coachful is the wrong choice

Honesty matters more than a sale. Stay with or choose Practice Better if you are a licensed practitioner who keeps clinical records, needs a BAA, bills insurance, uses ePrescribe or PDMP, or wants telehealth and charting in a system built for that. Choose CoachAccountable if your clients must pay by PayPal, if you want a long-established accountability tool with very high reviewer satisfaction, or if you run a firm with many coaches sharing a small active roster, where its unlimited coach seats are hard to beat. And if you need wearable data from Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop or Oura synced in, Coachful does not offer that.

How do the three compare on what matters most to coaches?

This table scores the deciding questions rather than feature lists.

How hard is it to switch between them?

Moderately easy in both directions, and easier into Coachful. CoachAccountable exports each client's full history and accepts bulk CSV import. Practice Better emails per-client archives that expire after 48 hours, so download them promptly, and bulk export is available on request. Whichever you leave, export active clients first, re-create recurring payments in the new processor before cancelling the old plan, and tell clients a week ahead where to log in.

Moving to Coachful, your clients, programs and content are imported for you during onboarding, and the full data export as a ZIP means you are never locked in. What do public reviewers say about each?

On Trustpilot as listed in October 2026, CoachAccountable holds 4.8 from 47 reviews and Practice Better 3.8 from 87. Treat both with care: these are small samples and people who review are often at the extremes. Read the Practice Better review for the patterns we found. Coachful holds 4.5 from 21 reviews on Trustpilot.

Frequently asked questions

Is Practice Better or CoachAccountable better for health coaches?

Practice Better, if you work in a clinical style with charting, telehealth and possibly ePrescribe. CoachAccountable suits health coaches who focus on behaviour change and accountability rather than records. Non-clinical health coaches who sell programs often prefer a platform with habits, check-ins and a branded app, such as Coachful.

Which is cheaper for 20 clients?

Practice Better's Professional plan is $69 a month ($59 billed annually) and covers up to 300 clients. CoachAccountable costs $120 a month for 20 active clients, with no annual discount. Prices are as listed in October 2026.

Does CoachAccountable have a free plan?

No. It offers a 30-day trial with no credit card and no feature limits, then paid plans from $20 a month for 2 active clients. Practice Better does have a free Sprout plan for 3 clients and one practitioner.

Does either tool include a website builder?

According to our September 2026 profiles, neither includes a website builder, landing pages or funnel pages. Most coaches on either tool pay separately for a website and email marketing.

Can multiple coaches use CoachAccountable or Practice Better?

CoachAccountable includes unlimited coaches and admins on every plan and bills only by active clients. Practice Better's Team plan is $155 a month for two practitioners plus $50 for each extra one, with roles, team scheduling and team reporting.

Is either tool HIPAA compliant?

CoachAccountable states it is not HIPAA compliant, per our September 2026 profile. Practice Better is built for practitioners and offers clinical tools; confirm its current compliance terms and BAA directly before storing health records. Coachful is not HIPAA-certified, so clinical records belong in a clinical system.

Do clients get a mobile app?

Practice Better clients use a client portal, branded from the Plus plan. CoachAccountable has no native mobile app per our September 2026 profile, so clients use the browser. Coachful clients use a branded app with your branding inside the Coachful app.

What is Coachful's free white-glove service?

On every plan, the Coachful team builds a website, funnel, sales page, program, course outline, email sequence or similar inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours. You describe what you want and attach reference links and files; nothing is invented, and gaps are left for you to fill. It does not cover video recording, logo design or ad management.

Can I take my data with me if I leave?

Yes, in all three. CoachAccountable exports full per-client history; Practice Better emails per-client archives that last 48 hours and offers bulk export on request; Coachful exports all client data as a ZIP, including notes, check-ins, goals, habits, sessions and form responses.

Which should I choose if I sell group programs?

Avoid per-active-client pricing for large groups, which makes CoachAccountable expensive at 50 or more clients. Practice Better handles groups on Professional and above. If you also want cohort groups, a community feed and sales funnels in the same login, Coachful is built for that model; compare plans on the plans page.
