Coachway vs Trainerize (2026): Pricing, Features, Verdict

Coachway vs Trainerize comes down to how you want to pay and how many clients you coach. Coachway sells one all-inclusive plan for online fitness and nutrition coaches, priced per active client above five. Trainerize sells client-count tiers with a free 1-client plan, then charges separately for scheduling, payments, video and advanced nutrition. If you want everything in one bill and coach under about 15 clients, Coachway is simpler. If you want the cheapest possible start or wearable integrations, Trainerize fits better. If you sell sessions, programs, courses and a community alongside training, look at the third option at the end of this article.
We make Coachful, a coaching platform, so we have a stake in this comparison. Every Coachway and Trainerize price below is as listed on their own pricing pages in October 2026, and every rating comes from Trustpilot on the date shown. We have not run client programs on either app; where we describe what they do, we are reporting what each vendor documents and what public reviewers say.
What is the short answer by use case?
Pick by the shape of your business, not by the longest feature list. Here is the quick version before the detail.
- New trainer with one or two clients: Trainerize. Its Basic plan is free for 1 client and Grow covers 2 clients, while Coachway has no free plan and starts with a card-required 14-day trial.
- Online fitness and nutrition coach with 5 to 15 clients who hates add-ons: Coachway. One plan includes the workout builder, meal planner, check-ins, automations, payments and a branded client app.
- Coach whose clients wear Garmin or similar devices: Trainerize, which lists app and wearable integrations from the Grow plan. Coachway does not describe wearable sync on the pages we checked.
- Coach growing past 30 clients: do the maths. Coachway's cost rises by $10 per client per month above five, so it gets expensive fast at volume.
- Coach who books calls, sells programs and runs a group: neither is built for that. Coachway describes no booking calendar, courses or community, and Trainerize puts scheduling and selling in a paid Business add-on with no course builder, website or email marketing.
How do Coachway and Trainerize compare side by side?
Ranked on one login for the whole client journey, between-session delivery, total stack cost and setup effort (including a free white-glove build), Coachful leads, with Coachway and Trainerize close behind for training-only businesses.
| Platform | Best for | Starting price | Free plan or trial | Trustpilot |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Coaches who sell sessions, programs, courses and community from one app, with a fitness and nutrition pack for trainers | Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients | A free trial, plus the free white-glove build | 4.5 from 21 reviews |
| Coachway | Online fitness and nutrition coaches who want one all-inclusive plan | $79/month for up to 5 active clients (EUR 69 ex-VAT), then $10 per extra client | 14-day free trial, card required; no free plan | 4.6 from 22 reviews |
| Trainerize | Personal trainers who want a free start and wearable integrations | Free for 1 client; Grow $10/month for 2 clients; Pro from $25/month for 5 clients | Free 1-client plan; 30-day trial with unlimited clients, no card | 3.1 from 100 reviews |
The ratings deserve a caution. Coachway's 4.6 rests on only 22 Trustpilot reviews, which is a small sample for a young vendor, and we found few other public reviews to weigh it against. Trainerize's 3.1 comes from 100 reviews, enough to show a pattern of mixed experiences, though Trustpilot reviewers skew toward people with a complaint. Read both as signals, not verdicts. Our Coachway review and Trainerize review go deeper on each.
What are Coachway and Trainerize?
Both are client-management apps for fitness coaches, but they come from different places and price in different ways.
Coachway
Coachway is a Copenhagen-based app (Coachway ApS) built for online fitness and nutrition coaches. Its site describes a workout builder with more than 1,800 exercises, supersets, AMRAP and templates; a meal planner with more than 1,100 recipes, macros, allergy filters and PDF export; check-in forms; progress tracking for weight, measurements and photos; automations; a lead pipeline; and chat with voice and video messages. A coach mobile app and a branded client app on iOS and Android are included, with the client app available in six languages.

Trainerize
ABC Trainerize is a long-running personal training app: workouts, habits, nutrition tracking and messaging, priced by client seats. Lower plans include the mobile app, workouts, basic messaging and habit coaching. Grow adds an AI Workout Builder, custom programs, meal and macro tracking, a Trainerize.me profile, and app and wearable integrations. Pro adds custom exercise videos, welcome emails, consultation forms, advanced messaging and challenges. Scheduling, product sales, in-app payments, video calls and advanced nutrition are paid add-ons below the top Studio Plus tier.

How much do Coachway and Trainerize cost?
Coachway charges one price that grows with every active client above five. Trainerize charges by client tier and adds monthly fees for the features many coaches need, so its headline price is rarely what you end up paying.
Coachway pricing
As listed in October 2026, Coachway's headline reads EUR 69 per month for up to 5 clients, then EUR 9 per additional client, prices ex-VAT and billed monthly. The same page's currency calculator shows $79 base plus $10 per extra client for US visitors (also GBP 59 plus 8). There is no annual plan and no tiers: every feature is in the one plan. The 14-day free trial needs a card, and Coachway sends a reminder three days before billing starts.
Payments have one wrinkle. Coachway lists a 2.4% fee on transactions through its built-in payment system; its own structured data describes this as optional, with no Coachway fee if you use your own Stripe checkout. Stripe's processing fees apply on top either way. A fully standalone white-label app under your own app-store listing is a paid option with no price shown.

Trainerize pricing
Trainerize's page, as listed in October 2026, contradicts itself in places, so treat these numbers with care. The plan cards show annual-billing prices and the FAQ shows monthly starting prices:
- Basic: free, 1 client.
- Grow: $10 per month or $9 per month billed annually, 2 clients.
- Pro (5 clients): $25 per month or $23 per month annually. Pro also comes in 15, 30, 50, 75, 100 and 200 client tiers, but those prices are no longer printed. An older Trainerize profile listed Pro 15 at $50, Pro 30 at $79 and Pro 50 at $135 per month, and the comparison table still shows "Small business $79/month".
- Studio Plus: from $275 per month (FAQ) or $248 (card, annual) for 500 or more clients and 5 or more locations, with all add-ons and a studio-level branded app included. Larger tiers are contact sales.
The add-ons are where most coaches' bills grow:
- Advanced Nutrition Coaching: $20 per month on Grow, Pro 5 and Pro 15; $45 per month on Pro 30 to 200.
- Business (scheduling, referrals, selling products, premium content): $25 per month.
- Video Coaching: $10 per month (50 hours of video calls and 100 hours of streaming).
- Stripe Integrated Payments: $10 per month, with Stripe fees on top.
- Custom Branded App on Pro: $169 one-time setup.
- FitMetrics: from $6 per client.
The 30-day trial includes unlimited clients and needs no card, but add-ons are not included during the trial. When it ends, the account reverts to the free 1-client plan at no charge. Our Trainerize pricing breakdown walks through every tier.

What would you actually pay at 5, 15 and 30 clients?
The table below is a worked example, not a quote. Coachway figures use its USD calculator with no built-in payment fee. Trainerize figures assume a coach who needs scheduling, payments, video and advanced nutrition, and use the older printed prices for Pro 15 and Pro 30 because the current page no longer shows them.
| Platform | 5 clients | 15 clients | 30 clients | What is included |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients | Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients | Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients | Booking, payments, contracts, programs, courses, community, website, email and AI assistant; 0% platform fee on payments |
| Coachway | $79/month | $179/month ($79 + 10 x $10) | $329/month ($79 + 25 x $10) | Every Coachway feature; optional 2.4% fee only on built-in payments |
| Trainerize, base plan only | $25/month (Pro 5) | $50/month (Pro 15, older price) | $79/month (Pro 30, older price) | Workouts, habits, basic nutrition, messaging; no scheduling, payments, video calls or advanced nutrition |
| Trainerize with four add-ons | $90/month | $115/month | $169/month | Base plan plus Business $25, Stripe $10, Video $10 and Advanced Nutrition ($20, or $45 from Pro 30) |
Two things stand out. Trainerize with add-ons is close to Coachway at 5 clients, and then becomes much cheaper as the roster grows, because Coachway charges $10 for every extra client while Trainerize jumps in tiers. And Trainerize's bare plan is very cheap, so a coach who only needs programming and messaging pays far less there. If you are weighing several per-client apps, our Coachway alternatives and Trainerize alternatives lists compare more of them.
How do the features compare?
For core training delivery, the two are close; the differences are in what is bundled, what costs extra and what neither does at all.

| Branded client app | Coach's branding inside the Coachful app | Included, coach's branding inside the Coachway app; own app-store listing is a paid option | $169 setup on Pro; studio-level app on Studio Plus |
Workout programming
Both apps cover the essentials of program design. Coachway documents a library of more than 1,800 exercises with supersets, AMRAP and reusable templates. Trainerize includes workouts on every plan, adds an AI Workout Builder and custom programs from Grow, and lets Pro coaches upload custom exercise videos. If you already film your own demos, both handle it. If you want an AI first draft of a program, Trainerize documents one; Coachway does not mention it on the pages we checked.
Nutrition coaching
This is Coachway's clearest strength. Its meal planner, with more than 1,100 recipes, macro targets, allergy filters and PDF export, is part of the single plan. Trainerize includes meal and macro tracking from Grow, but its Advanced Nutrition Coaching costs $20 to $45 per month on top. Nutrition-led coaches should also read our list of Trainerize alternatives for nutrition coaches.
A scope note that applies to every app here: fitness and nutrition coaching is not medical treatment or medical nutrition therapy. Coaches should refer clients to a doctor or a registered dietitian for eating disorders, diabetes or other diagnosed conditions, pregnancy complications, chest pain or dizziness during exercise, unexplained weight loss, or any injury that needs assessment.
Check-ins, habits and progress
Coachway lists check-in forms and progress tracking for weight, measurements and photos. Trainerize lists habit and lifestyle coaching from the free plan and challenges on Pro. Neither vendor documents structured morning and evening check-ins or goal progress bars on the pages we read, which matters if your coaching leans on daily behaviour change rather than training logs.
Automations and leads
Coachway includes automations and a lead pipeline in its plan, alongside an inbox it calls the Power Panel. Trainerize offers welcome emails and consultation forms on Pro, while referral links and prospect booking sit in the Business add-on or Studio Plus. If you run your sales from the coaching app, Coachway gives you more without extra fees.
Payments
Both run on Stripe. Coachway lets you connect your own Stripe account and charges an optional 2.4% if you use its built-in payment system instead of your own Stripe checkout. Trainerize needs the $10 per month Stripe Integrated Payments add-on. Neither documents PayPal on the pages checked.
Data export and switching
Coachway offers free migration from some platforms ("Where a move is possible, the move itself is free"), but we could not find a statement about exporting your own client data; only meal-plan PDF export is described. An older Trainerize profile notes that its client export leaves out messages, photos and attachments. If you are already on Trainerize, our guide to migrating from Trainerize covers what to save before you switch.
What is the client experience like on each?
Both give clients a mobile app with your branding; the difference is how much it costs and how much the client sees beyond workouts.
Coachway includes a branded client app on iOS and Android in its plan: your logo and colours inside the Coachway app, in six languages, which helps coaches with clients across Europe. Clients get workouts, meal plans, check-ins, progress and chat with voice and video messages. A standalone app under your own App Store listing is a paid extra.
Trainerize clients get the Trainerize app on every plan. A custom branded app on Pro costs $169 to set up, and Studio Plus includes a studio-level branded app. Trainerize clients can connect wearables and other apps from Grow upward, which is a real advantage for data-minded clients.
What neither app documents is a client home that also holds booked sessions, signed agreements, courses and a community feed. Clients who need those end up with a second login somewhere else, which is the gap the third option below is built to close.
Which should you pick: Coachway or Trainerize?
Choose Coachway if you coach fitness and nutrition online, want one predictable bill with no add-ons, and keep your roster small. Choose Trainerize if you want a free start, wearable data or the lowest cost per client at higher volume.
- Pick Coachway if meal planning is central to your offer, you want automations and a lead pipeline included, your clients speak several languages, and you coach roughly 5 to 15 people.
- Pick Trainerize if you are just starting with one or two clients, your clients track with wearables, you want an AI Workout Builder, or you coach 30 or more clients and only need the core training tools.
- Pick neither if you sell discovery calls, sessions, programs and digital products, or run group coaching. Both are training apps first.

Is there a third option? Coachful, honestly
Yes. Coachful is a coaching platform where one subscription covers booking, payments, contracts, program delivery with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant. The coach has one login and the client has one branded app. For trainers, a Fitness & Nutrition pack adds workout building, logging and nutrition tools.

Who is Coachful for?
Coachful is built for coaches who deliver programs, not just sessions; solo coaches growing into a small team; and coaches replacing four to six separate tools. For a fitness coach, that usually means someone who takes discovery calls, sells a 12-week program, runs a group challenge and wants to stop paying for a scheduler, a payment link tool, a website and an email app on top of a training app. See Coachful for fitness coaches and the Fitness & Nutrition pack.
Training and nutrition
The Fitness & Nutrition pack includes a workout builder with an illustrated exercise library (supersets, circuits, AMRAP, EMOM, intervals, tempo), client workout logging with set history and PRs, nutrition targets down to calories and macros, meal plans, recipes, food lookup and barcode scanning, private progress photos and measurements, weekly check-ins, private form-check video with timestamped coach comments, and challenges. Coaches attach their own demo videos; there are no stock exercise videos.
Between-session delivery
Multi-week programs carry weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars and streaks. Each client record holds goals, check-ins, habits, notes, intake answers, payments and sessions, with a status of thriving, active, quiet or at risk so you can spot who is slipping.

Here is a short walkthrough of how programs are built and delivered in Coachful:

Booking, payments and agreements
Booking pages handle availability rules, buffers, minimum notice and time zones, with two-way Google, Apple and Outlook calendar sync, built-in video or auto-created Zoom, Meet and Teams links, and email, SMS and WhatsApp reminders once messaging is enabled. Payments run through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account with subscriptions, payment plans, coupons, Apple Pay and Google Pay, and a 0% Coachful platform fee since August 2026. Coaching agreements with e-signature go out before the first call. More on scheduling and payments.

Courses, community and marketing
Courses with modules, drip and completion tracking, a community feed, group chat and cohort groups created automatically on enrollment all live in the client's branded app. A section-based website builder, booking and lead-magnet funnels, and email sequences with branching cover the marketing side. Michelle, the built-in AI assistant, drafts programs and emails and briefs you before sessions.

Where Coachful beats both
- One login for the whole client journey: booking, contract, payment, program, course and community.
- Between-session delivery with daily check-ins, habits and goals, not only workout logs.
- Total stack cost: a flat monthly plan instead of per-client fees or stacked add-ons (current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients).
- Setup effort, thanks to the free white-glove build described below.
Where Coachway or Trainerize beat Coachful
- Wearables: Coachful has no Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop or Oura sync, and Apple Health sync is not publicly available. Trainerize lists wearable integrations from Grow.
- No-cost start: Trainerize's Basic plan costs nothing for one client, and Coachful has no permanent equivalent.
- Library size: Coachway documents 1,800+ exercises and 1,100+ recipes. Coachful has no stock exercise videos, so you film your own demos.
- Languages: Coachway's client app runs in six languages.
- Own App Store listing: Coachful's client app ships under the Coachful listing with your branding; Coachway sells a standalone listing as a paid option.
- Clinical work: Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and offers no BAA, so it is not the place for clinical records or insurance billing. It also has no PayPal.
What is the white-glove build?
Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. From Create, the "We'll build it for you" card lets you describe what you want built: a website, funnel, sales page, program, course outline and written material, coaching flow, form, email sequence, link in bio, lead quiz, event or automation. You can attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files such as logos, photos and copy. The Coachful team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours, and invents nothing: no fake credentials, testimonials or prices, with gaps left for you to fill. It does not cover recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing. One recent example: a business mentor for beauty professionals got a 12-week mentorship sales page, a free start-up-guide funnel and rewritten follow-up emails. Another, a menopause and midlife health coach starting from nothing, got a five-page site in sage and cream with every button leading to a free 20-minute consultation. Read more about the free white-glove service.

How to start
Start a free trial, then use the white-glove card to request your program, website or funnel. During onboarding, your clients, programs and content are imported for you, and you can export all client data as a ZIP at any time. Compare plans on the plans page, or see the wider coaching software overview.

Frequently asked questions
Is Coachway cheaper than Trainerize?
It depends on your client count and which Trainerize add-ons you need. At 5 clients, Coachway's $79 per month is close to Trainerize Pro 5 with Business, Stripe, Video and Advanced Nutrition add-ons ($90). At 15 or 30 clients, Trainerize usually costs less because Coachway adds $10 for every active client above five.
Does Coachway have a free plan?
No. As listed in October 2026, Coachway offers a 14-day free trial that requires a card, with a reminder three days before billing. Trainerize has a free Basic plan for one client and a 30-day trial with no card.
Why are Coachway's prices in euros?
Coachway is based in Copenhagen and its headline price is EUR 69 per month ex-VAT for up to 5 clients, then EUR 9 per client. The pricing page's calculator shows other currencies by visitor location, including $79 plus $10 per client in USD.
Does Trainerize charge extra for payments and scheduling?
Yes, below Studio Plus. Stripe Integrated Payments is $10 per month and the Business add-on, which includes scheduling, referrals and selling products, is $25 per month. Stripe's own processing fees apply on top.
Does Coachway charge a transaction fee?
Coachway lists a 2.4% fee on transactions through its built-in payment system. Its page describes this as optional, with no Coachway fee when you use your own Stripe checkout. Stripe's processing fees are separate.
Which has the better branded client app?
Coachway includes a branded app (your logo and colours inside its app) in the standard plan, in six languages. Trainerize charges $169 to set up a custom branded app on Pro and includes a studio-level app on Studio Plus.
Can I sync Garmin or Apple Watch data?
Trainerize lists app and wearable integrations from its Grow plan. Coachway does not describe wearable sync on the pages we checked. Coachful has no Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop or Oura sync and Apple Health sync is not publicly available.
Are there enough reviews of Coachway to judge it?
Not many. Coachway had a 4.6 Trustpilot score from 22 reviews in October 2026, and we found few other public reviews. Treat that score as an early signal and use the trial to test it yourself.
What is Coachful's free white-glove service?
It is a done-for-you build included on every plan. You describe the website, funnel, program, course outline, email sequence or other asset you want, attach references, and the Coachful team builds it inside your account, usually within about 24 hours. It does not include video recording, logo design or ad management.
Is Coachful a good fit for a fitness coach?
Yes, if you sell more than training plans. The Fitness & Nutrition pack covers workouts, logging, nutrition, check-ins and form-check video, and the rest of the platform handles booking, payments, courses and community. If you need wearable sync or a stock exercise video library, a training-only app may suit you better.
