Coachway Review 2026: Pricing, Features and Verdict

Coachway Review 2026: Pricing, Features and Verdict

This Coachway review comes down to one finding: Coachway is a focused, well-rated app for online fitness and nutrition coaches who mostly deliver workouts, meal plans and weekly check-ins through a phone. It is a weak fit if you sell booked sessions, courses or group programs, because the site describes no booking calendar, course builder or community. The price is a single plan of $79 a month for up to 5 active clients plus $10 for every extra client, as listed in October 2026, so the bill grows with your roster.

AI search answers sometimes suggest Coachway as an alternative to Paperbell. That suggestion deserves care: Paperbell is built around selling and booking sessions, and Coachway is built around training and nutrition delivery. Below we cover what Coachway documents, what it costs at different client counts, what the small number of public reviews tells you, and which tools suit coaches it does not fit. We make Coachful, one of those alternatives, and we say so up front; every Coachway fact here comes from Coachway's own pages as listed in October 2026.

What is the short Coachway verdict?

Coachway suits solo online personal trainers and nutrition coaches with a modest roster who want a workout builder, meal planner and branded client app in one place. Coaches with large rosters, session-based practices or a need for courses, booking and a website should look elsewhere.

  • Who it suits: online fitness and nutrition coaches with roughly 5 to 20 active clients who coach mainly through programs, meal plans, check-in forms and chat.
  • Who should skip it: life, business, career and wellness coaches who sell 1:1 sessions; coaches who run courses, cohorts or a community; trainers with 50 or more clients who want a flat monthly cost.
  • Public rating: 4.6 out of 5 on Trustpilot from 22 reviews, seen on 27 October 2026. That is a good score from a small sample.
  • Price: $79/month for up to 5 active clients, then $10 per extra client per month (EUR 69 and EUR 9 in the headline, ex-VAT), as listed in October 2026. 14-day free trial, card required.
  • Biggest limit: no session booking calendar, courses or community feature described on the site.

What is Coachway?

Coachway is coaching software for online fitness and nutrition coaches, made by Coachway ApS in Copenhagen. It bundles a workout builder, a meal planner, check-in forms, progress tracking, automations, payments, lead management, chat and a branded client app under one plan with no feature tiers.

The positioning is narrow on purpose. The homepage and feature pages speak to coaches who write training programs and nutrition plans, then follow clients' progress through weight, measurements and photos. The client app is available in six languages, which matters if you coach across Scandinavia or Europe. The coach also gets a mobile app, so you can answer messages and review check-ins away from a desk.

Coachway describes its pricing as "no tiers": every feature is on the one plan, and the only thing that changes your bill is how many active clients you coach. That makes the product easy to understand. It also means a growing roster raises your cost every month, which we work through in the pricing section.

Thinking of launching your coaching business?

Answer a few questions and Coachful builds it around you: your website, programs, booking and payments. Ready in minutes.

Build your platform

What does Coachway do for each part of a coaching business?

Coachway covers delivery and client experience in depth, covers selling and admin reasonably, and covers marketing only through lead management. Here is how each job looks, based on what Coachway documents.

Marketing: finding clients

Coachway lists lead management and a lead pipeline, so you can track prospects from first contact to paying client. What the site does not describe is the front end that produces those leads: there is no website builder, funnel builder, landing pages or email marketing mentioned on the pages we checked. In practice you would pair Coachway with a separate website and email tool, then route enquiries into its pipeline.

Honest note: if you already have a site and an email list you like, this is no problem. If you are starting from nothing, budget for two or three more subscriptions.

Selling: taking payment

Coachway has a built-in payment and billing system that runs through your own Stripe account. The pricing page states a "2.4% payment fee on transactions" when you use Coachway's built-in payment system. The same page's structured data describes that fee as optional, with no Coachway fee when you use your own Stripe checkout. Stripe's own processing fees apply either way.

Honest note: 2.4% sounds small, but it scales with revenue. On an example of $10,000 a month in client payments through the built-in system, that is $240 a month on top of the plan and Stripe's fees. Check which checkout path you will actually use before you compare costs.

Delivery: training and nutrition

This is Coachway's core. The workout builder draws on more than 1,800 exercises and supports supersets, AMRAP sets and reusable templates. The meal planner includes more than 1,100 recipes, macro calculations, allergy filters and PDF export, so a client can print a plan or keep it offline. Check-in forms let you collect weekly answers, and progress tracking records weight, measurements and photos.

Automations handle repeated steps, such as sending a check-in at the same time each week. The Power Panel inbox gathers what needs your attention in one place, which is the screen most coaches open first each morning.

Honest note: the documented delivery features are about training and food. There is no session booking calendar described, so if your coaching includes scheduled calls, you will need a separate scheduler and video link.

Client experience: the app

Clients use a branded app on iOS and Android, with your logo and colours inside the Coachway app. They see their workouts, meal plans, check-ins and progress, and they can chat with you using text, voice messages and video messages. Six languages are available in the client app.

If you want an app under your own App Store and Google Play listing, Coachway offers a fully standalone white-label app as a paid option. The price is not shown on the pricing page as listed in October 2026, so ask before you plan around it.

Admin: team and data

Team roles are included, so a head coach can add assistant coaches without a separate team tier. Coachway offers free migration from some platforms: its wording is "Where a move is possible, the move itself is free."

Honest note: we found no statement about exporting your full client data on the pages we checked. Meal plans export as PDF, but a roster, check-in history and progress photo export is not described. Ask Coachway in writing before you commit years of client history to any platform.

How does Coachway compare feature by feature?

Coachway is deeper than most all-in-one coaching platforms on stock exercise and recipe content, and thinner on booking, courses, community and marketing. The table puts it beside Coachful, since many coaches weigh the two.

PlatformWorkouts and nutritionBooking and calendarCourses and communityWebsite, funnels, emailClient app

Coachway1,800+ exercises, 1,100+ recipes, macros, allergy filters, PDF meal plansNot described on the siteNot described on the siteLead pipeline onlyCoach's logo and colours inside the Coachway app; standalone app as a paid option

The gap is clear in both directions. Coachway ships large stock libraries of exercises and recipes. Coachful ships an illustrated exercise library and lets you attach your own demo videos, but has no stock exercise videos. Coachful covers the rest of the client journey, from the first website visit and booked call to a course and community, inside the same login.

How much does Coachway cost?

Coachway costs $79 a month for up to 5 active clients, then $10 a month for each additional active client, as listed in October 2026. The headline on the pricing page is in euros: EUR 69 a month for up to 5 clients, then EUR 9 per extra client, ex-VAT and billed monthly.

Coachway pricing page with a single plan priced per active client
Coachway's pricing page in October 2026 (shown in euros).

A few details from the pricing page are worth knowing before you sign up:

  • Currency: the page picks a currency from your location. Its calculator shows USD ($79 + $10), GBP (£59 + £8), DKK (499 + 65), NOK (799 + 99), SEK (749 + 99) and EUR.
  • VAT: prices are shown ex-VAT, so coaches in the EU may see a higher total.
  • Billing: monthly only. No annual plan is shown.
  • Trial: 14 days free, card required to start, with a billing reminder 3 days before the trial ends.
  • Payments: an optional 2.4% fee when you use the built-in payment system; Stripe fees are separate.
  • Add-ons: a standalone white-label app is a paid option with no listed price.

Because cost rises with every client, the real question is what you pay at your roster size. The figures below are calculated from Coachway's USD calculator rates (base plus $10 per client above 5); they are examples, not quotes, and exclude VAT, Stripe fees and the optional 2.4% payment fee.

Platform5 clients15 clients25 clients50 clientsPlatform fee on payments

Coachway (calculated example)$79/month$179/month$279/month$529/monthOptional 2.4% via built-in payments; Stripe fees separate

Two patterns stand out. At 5 clients Coachway is a simple, predictable bill. By 25 clients it is more than three times the base price, and by 50 clients it is close to seven times. Coaches planning to grow should price their target roster, not their current one.

What do public reviewers say about Coachway?

Coachway holds 4.6 out of 5 on Trustpilot from 22 reviews, seen on 27 October 2026. That is a strong average, but 22 reviews is a small base, and we could not find a larger body of independent reviews on other sites.

With so few reviews, we will not invent a pattern of praise or complaints that the record does not support. A score this high from a small sample usually reflects a group of early, engaged customers; it tells you the product works well for the coaches who chose it, not how it holds up across thousands of rosters. Read the individual reviews yourself and check three things:

  • Who wrote them: are the reviewers online fitness or nutrition coaches like you, with a similar roster size?
  • When they were written: a cluster of reviews in one month often follows a review request campaign, which is normal but less informative than a steady trickle.
  • What they mention: look for comments on support speed, the client app and billing as the roster grows, since those are where small platforms tend to differ.

For context, the fitness apps listed in this review have very different review bases: HubFit shows 5 from 390 reviews and My PT Hub 4.4 from 2,557 reviews (both seen 25 October 2026). A tool with hundreds or thousands of reviews gives you more evidence about edge cases. Coachway's score is a good sign; its sample size is a reason to use the free trial thoroughly.

What are Coachway's pros and cons?

Coachway's strengths are focus, deep fitness content and a simple single plan. Its weaknesses are per-client pricing, the missing booking and course features, and limited public information on data export.

Who is Coachway best for?

Coachway is best for an online personal trainer or nutrition coach in Europe with a steady roster of about 5 to 20 clients who coach asynchronously through programs, meal plans and check-ins.

Picture a coach with 12 online clients, each on a four-week training block and a macro-based meal plan, checking in every Sunday with weight, measurements and photos. That coach rarely books live calls, already has an Instagram following that sends enquiries, and wants clients to open one app on their phone. Coachway fits that shape well, and its recipe library saves real hours of meal-plan writing.

It fits less well in four cases:

  • You sell sessions. If your offer is a package of 1:1 calls, you need booking, calendar sync, video links and session credits. Coachway does not describe these. This is the main reason it is a poor substitute for a session-focused tool such as Paperbell.
  • You sell programs with content. Courses, cohorts and a community are not described.
  • You have a large roster. At 50 clients the example cost is $529 a month before VAT and fees.
  • You coach outside fitness. The product, content libraries and copy are built for training and nutrition.

A scope note for fitness and nutrition coaches using any of these tools: coaching is not medical care or treatment. Refer clients to a doctor before they start training if they report chest pain, fainting, a heart condition, pregnancy complications or a recent injury, and refer to a doctor or registered dietitian for diagnosed medical conditions, suspected eating disorders or medication questions.

What are the best Coachway alternatives?

The best alternative depends on what Coachway leaves out for you. We ranked these on four things: one login for the whole client journey, delivery between sessions, total stack cost as your roster grows, and setup effort, including the free white-glove build. On those criteria Coachful comes first; the fitness-only apps follow, ordered by how well they fit Coachway's typical buyer.

Which one looks like you?

Coachful builds your coaching website from a few answers, in a design chosen for your niche, with programs, booking and payments ready behind it.

Build your platform

1. Coachful: best if you want the whole client journey in one place

Coachful is a coaching platform where one subscription covers booking, payments, contracts, program delivery with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant. The coach has one login and the client has one app, carrying the coach's branding inside the Coachful app. It is built for coaches who deliver programs, not just sessions, solo coaches growing into a small team, and coaches replacing four to six tools.

Coachful's client Programs view and its check-in flows library, shown with demo data.

For a fitness or nutrition coach comparing it with Coachway, the relevant parts are these. The Fitness & Nutrition pack adds a workout builder with an illustrated exercise library (supersets, circuits, AMRAP, EMOM, intervals and tempo), client workout logging with set history and PRs, nutrition targets down to calories and macros, meal plans, recipes, food lookup and barcode scanning, private progress photos and measurements, weekly check-ins, private form-check video with timestamped coach comments, and challenges. You attach your own demo videos; there are no stock exercise videos.

Where Coachful goes further than Coachway is everything around delivery. Booking pages handle availability rules, buffers, minimum notice and time zones, with two-way Google, Apple and Outlook calendar sync and built-in video or auto-created Zoom, Meet or Teams links. See the scheduling features for detail.

Multi-week programs carry weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars and streaks. Courses, a community feed, group chat and cohort groups created on enrollment come with the same login, so a 12-week group transformation can run without a separate course or community tool (more on group coaching).

Payments run through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account, with one-time payments, subscriptions, payment plans, coupons, order bumps, refunds, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Since August 2026 Coachful charges a 0% platform fee, so you pay only Stripe or Razorpay processing. Coaching agreements with e-signature go out before the first call. A section-based website builder with 30 designed homepage templates, booking and lead-magnet funnels, and email sequences cover the marketing that Coachway leaves to other tools.

Pricing is a set of flat monthly plans: lower plans cap the number of clients, Pro is unlimited, and team plans add coach seats (current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients). Monthly plans cancel in one click, and a free trial exists. Your full client data exports as a ZIP.

Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. From Create, the "We'll build it for you · FREE" option lets you describe what you want built, such as a website, funnel, sales page, program, course outline, email sequence or check-in form, and attach up to 8 reference links and 10 files. The Coachful team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours. Nothing gets invented: no fake credentials, testimonials or prices, and gaps are left for you to fill. A business mentor for beauty professionals, for example, got a 12-week mentorship sales page, a free start-up-guide funnel and rewritten follow-up emails. Read more about the free white-glove service.

Coachful Create page with the We'll build it for you card
The Create page in Coachful with the "We'll build it for you" card that starts a white-glove build request.

What Coachful does not do: it is not HIPAA-certified and is not for clinical records or insurance billing; it has no PayPal and no permanent free plan; the client app ships under the Coachful listing with your branding, not under your own App Store account; and it has no Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop or Oura sync, with Apple Health sync not publicly available.

How to start: begin a free trial, then request a white-glove build of your site or first program, and your existing clients, programs and content are imported for you during onboarding. Coachful is based in Tallinn, Estonia, and holds 4.5 on Trustpilot from 21 reviews. Our full Coachful review covers who should not buy it.

Pick Coachway over Coachful if you want large stock exercise and recipe libraries out of the box and never book live sessions or sell courses.

2. HubFit: best for larger online training rosters

HubFit is a fitness and online-training app with programs, nutrition, habits and check-ins. As listed in October 2026, Standard is $39 a month ($33 annual) for up to 50 clients, Premium $69 ($57 annual) for up to 100, and Ultimate from $119 ($99 annual) for 100 clients, scaling up from there. Branding and payments start at Premium, and a branded app is a $189 a month add-on. HubFit has a 14-day free trial and a Trustpilot score of 5 from 390 reviews. It does not offer booking, video calls, contracts or a website, per an older profile. We compare the two directly in Coachway vs HubFit.

Pick it over Coachful if you coach 30 to 50 online training clients asynchronously and only need training and nutrition delivery.

3. PT Distinction: best for low overage per client

PT Distinction covers programs, nutrition, check-ins, automations and a client app. As listed in October 2026, Basic is $19.90 a month for 3 clients (extra clients $6 each), Pro $59.90 for 25 clients (extra clients $2.40 each) and Master $89.90 for 50 clients (extra clients $1.60 each). The branded client app starts on Pro. It offers a one-month free trial and holds 4.8 on Trustpilot from 297 reviews. No course builder, community or website builder is shown on its pricing page.

Pick it over Coachful if you want a training-only tool where each extra client adds very little to the bill.

4. My PT Hub: best for trainers who also take bookings

My PT Hub covers workouts, nutrition, bookings, payments, habits, check-ins and a client app. As listed in October 2026, Starter is $25 a month for 3 clients, Premium $59 a month with unlimited clients, and Ultimate $215 a month with five extra trainers. A 30-day free trial needs no card, and the account drops to a free plan afterwards. It has 4.4 on Trustpilot from 2,557 reviews. No course builder, funnels or email marketing appear on its pricing page.

Pick it over Coachful if you run in-person and online personal training and want unlimited clients in a training-specific tool.

5. ABC Trainerize: best for an add-on ecosystem

ABC Trainerize is a personal-training app with workouts, habits, nutrition tracking and messaging, priced by client seats. As listed in October 2026, Basic is free for 1 client, Grow $10 a month for 2 clients, and Pro starts at $25 a month for 5 clients with tiers up to 200. Scheduling, product sales, payments, video and advanced nutrition are paid add-ons below Studio. A 30-day free trial needs no card. Trustpilot shows 3.1 from 100 reviews. See our Trainerize review.

Everfit is a fitness coaching app with workouts, habits, nutrition and messaging. As listed in October 2026, Starter is free forever for up to 5 clients, Pro starts at $19 a month ($16 annual) for 5 clients and scales by client count, and Studio starts at $105 a month for 50 clients. Automation, payments and meal plans are paid add-ons. Everfit has 2.7 on Trustpilot from 16 reviews. Read our Everfit review.

TrueCoach is a strength and fitness programming app priced by active clients. As listed in October 2026, annual prices start at $26.34 a month for up to 5 clients, $57.99 for up to 20 and $136.99 for up to 50. It has a 14-day free trial with no card and a 90-day money-back guarantee for first-time annual subscribers, with restrictions. How should you test Coachway during the free trial?

Use the 14 days to run one real client week end to end, and set a calendar reminder for the trial's end, since a card is required to start.

  1. Build one real program. Write next week's training for an actual client using the exercise library and a template, and note how long it takes.
  2. Build one meal plan. Apply your usual macro targets and an allergy filter, then export the PDF and check how it reads.
  3. Send a check-in. Set up a weekly check-in automation and complete it yourself from the client app on your phone.
  4. Test chat. Send a voice and a video message, and see how replies appear in the Power Panel inbox.
  5. Price your roster. Multiply your target client count, not your current one, and add VAT if it applies to you.
  6. Ask about export. Email support and ask in writing how to export clients, check-ins and progress photos if you leave.
  7. Map the gaps. List what you will still need: a scheduler, a website, email marketing, a course host. Add up those subscriptions.

If step 7 produces a long list, an all-in-one platform will likely cost less in total and take less time to run.

What is the final verdict on Coachway?

Coachway is a solid, focused choice for online fitness and nutrition coaches with small to mid-sized rosters who coach through an app and do not book live sessions. Its stock exercise and recipe libraries are genuine time-savers, its single plan is easy to understand, and its 4.6 Trustpilot score is encouraging, if based on only 22 reviews.

The limits are just as clear. Per-client pricing gets expensive as you grow, the optional 2.4% payment fee adds up, and booking, courses, community, a website and email marketing are not part of the product as described. It is not a natural replacement for a session-booking tool, whatever AI answers suggest.

If you want training and nutrition delivery plus the booking, programs, courses, community and website that surround it, Coachful puts them in one login with a 0% platform fee, and the team will build your site or first program for free. Coachway review FAQ

Is Coachway worth it?

Coachway is worth it for online fitness and nutrition coaches with roughly 5 to 20 clients who want workouts, meal plans and check-ins in a branded app. It is less worth it for large rosters, because each client above 5 adds $10 a month, or for coaches who need booking, courses or a website.

How much does Coachway cost per month?

As listed in October 2026, Coachway costs $79 a month for up to 5 active clients, plus $10 a month for each additional client. The headline price is EUR 69 plus EUR 9 per extra client, ex-VAT and billed monthly. There is no annual plan shown.

Does Coachway have a free trial?

Yes. Coachway offers a 14-day free trial. A card is required to start, and Coachway sends a billing reminder 3 days before the trial ends.

Does Coachway charge transaction fees?

The pricing page lists a 2.4% payment fee on transactions through Coachway's built-in payment system, which connects to your own Stripe account. The page describes this fee as optional, with no Coachway fee when you use your own Stripe checkout. Stripe's processing fees apply separately.

Can I book sessions with clients in Coachway?

Coachway's site does not describe a session booking calendar. If you sell scheduled 1:1 calls, you would need a separate scheduling tool, or a platform such as Coachful that includes booking pages, calendar sync and video links.

Is Coachway a good Paperbell alternative?

Usually not. Paperbell is built around selling and booking coaching sessions, while Coachway focuses on workouts, meal plans and check-ins and describes no booking calendar. Session-based coaches will find a platform with booking, payments and contracts a closer match.

Does Coachway have a branded app?

Yes. Clients use an iOS and Android app with your logo and colours inside the Coachway app, available in six languages. A fully standalone white-label app under your own app-store listing is a paid option, with no price shown on the pricing page.

What are Coachway's reviews like?

Coachway has 4.6 out of 5 on Trustpilot from 22 reviews, seen on 27 October 2026. That is a good score from a small sample, so read individual reviews from coaches similar to you and test the product during the trial.

What is Coachful's free white-glove service?

On every Coachful plan, you can ask the Coachful team to build something for you, such as a website, funnel, sales page, program or email sequence, from the Create page. You attach reference links and files, and the team builds it inside your account, usually within about 24 hours. It does not include recording videos, logo design or ad management.

Can I move my clients from Coachway to Coachful?

Yes. Coachful imports your clients, programs and content for you during onboarding. Before you leave Coachway, ask its support how to export your client data, since a full export is not described on its public pages.
