TrueCoach Review 2026: Features, Pricing and Verdict

TrueCoach Review 2026: Features, Pricing and Verdict

This TrueCoach review comes down to one sentence: TrueCoach is a focused workout-programming app for personal trainers and strength coaches who sell training plans, and it does that one job cleanly, but it leaves booking, contracts, courses, community and your website to other tools. If you only need to write programs, track lifts and message clients, it is a reasonable pick. If you run a coaching business with calls, onboarding, content and marketing, you will end up paying for a stack around it.

Below we cover what TrueCoach documents on its own pricing page as listed in October 2026, what its Trustpilot reviewers report, where it fits, and which alternatives cover more of the client journey. We make Coachful, one of those alternatives, so we have been strict about separating what TrueCoach documents from our opinion. We have not run a hands-on test of TrueCoach; everything about its features comes from its public pages and public reviews.

What is the short verdict on TrueCoach?

TrueCoach suits fitness coaches who program workouts and want a simple client app; it does not suit coaches who need scheduling, contracts, courses or a website in the same login. Its public rating is low on a very small sample.

Our recommendationChoose TrueCoach for pure workout delivery. Choose Coachful if you want booking, payments, agreements, programs, a fitness pack, courses, community and your website under one login.

What is TrueCoach?

TrueCoach is a strength and fitness programming app: you build workouts, assign them to clients on a calendar, and clients log their training in an app. It is priced by how many active clients you coach.

The pricing page lists the core of the product on every plan: a program and workout builder, a client tracker, nutrition and habit tracking through MyFitnessPal, a client dashboard, a library of more than 3,000 exercise videos, messaging and automated payments. Higher plans add a public coach profile, wearables, a custom-branded app, advanced habit and nutrition tracking, and Zapier.

What matters as much is what the product does not list. As of our September 2026 profile, TrueCoach had no video calls, no contracts, no course builder, no community and no website. Scheduling and booking do not appear on the October 2026 pricing page feature list either. That makes it a delivery tool, not a business platform. For many in-person trainers that is fine: the gym handles booking and the trainer just needs programming. For online coaches who sell, onboard and deliver entirely through software, the gaps add up quickly.

A note on scope, because TrueCoach users often coach nutrition and recovery too: coaching is not treatment. Fitness and nutrition coaches do not diagnose or treat medical conditions. If a client reports pain, an injury, signs of disordered eating or a medical condition, refer them to a physician, physical therapist or registered dietitian before you keep programming.

Thinking of launching your coaching business?

Answer a few questions and Coachful builds it around you: your website, programs, booking and payments. Ready in minutes.

Build your platform

What does TrueCoach do for each part of a coaching business?

TrueCoach is strong in delivery, adequate in client experience, and thin in marketing, selling and admin. Here is how its documented features line up against the five jobs any coaching platform has to do.

Marketing: how do new clients find you?

TrueCoach's marketing is limited to a public coach profile on Standard and above. There is no website builder, no landing pages or funnels, and no email marketing on the pricing page. In practice you will need a separate website tool, a separate email tool and probably a link-in-bio tool to get people to the point where they pay you.

Honest note: if your clients come from a gym floor or referrals, this gap may not hurt you. If you sell online, it is the single biggest reason coaches outgrow a workout-only app.

For comparison, Coachful includes a section-based website builder with a blog, custom domain and SEO settings, 30 designed homepage templates, and booking, application, lead-magnet and checkout funnels with pixels and UTM tracking. Email lists, broadcasts and multi-step sequences sit in the same account. Our coach website builder page shows how that works.

Selling: how do clients book and pay?

TrueCoach offers automated payments through Stripe, with Stripe fees applying and no extra TrueCoach fee per its FAQ. In-app payments were limited to coaches in the US, UK, Canada and Australia as of our September 2026 profile.

There is no booking page on the pricing list, so discovery calls and paid sessions need a separate scheduling tool, and there are no coaching agreements or e-signature. If you sell a 12-week online program with a kickoff call and a signed agreement, you would piece that together from three products.

Coachful handles this in one place: booking pages with availability rules, buffers, minimum notice and time-zone detection, two-way Google, Apple and Outlook calendar sync, built-in video or auto-created Zoom, Meet or Teams links, and paid sessions and session credits. Payments run through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account with one-time payments, subscriptions, payment plans, coupons and Apple Pay or Google Pay. Since August 2026 Coachful charges a 0% platform fee, so you only pay Stripe or Razorpay processing. See scheduling software and coaching payment software for details.

Delivery: how do you build and run programs?

Delivery is TrueCoach's core strength. You get a workout builder, a client tracker, and a library of more than 3,000 exercise videos on every plan, which saves a new coach from filming demos before launch.

Habit and nutrition tracking runs through MyFitnessPal on Starter, with advanced habit and nutrition tracking from Standard. Wearables also start at Standard. There are no courses, no group community and no video calls in the product, per our September 2026 profile.

Honest note in TrueCoach's favour: Coachful does not ship stock exercise videos and does not sync with Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop or Oura. Coachful's Fitness & Nutrition pack includes a workout builder with an exercise library of illustrated exercises (supersets, circuits, AMRAP, EMOM, intervals and tempo), client workout logging with set history and PRs, nutrition targets up to calories and macros, meal plans, recipes, food lookup and barcode scanning, private progress photos and measurements, weekly check-ins and private form-check video with timestamped comments. You attach your own demo videos. If a 3,000-video library is the deciding factor for you, that is a real point for TrueCoach.

Client experience: what does the client see?

TrueCoach clients get a dashboard and app where they see assigned workouts, log training and message their coach. A custom-branded app is available from the Standard plan.

Public reviewers are split here. Several coaches describe the app as easy to use for programming in advance; others want a better messaging experience, and some clients complain they have little control over their own workout data. We cover those reviews in detail below.

In Coachful, the client gets your branding inside the Coachful app, with programs, weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars, streaks, courses, community and session booking in one home. That branded experience ships under the Coachful listing, not under your own App Store account.

Admin: contracts, data and integrations

TrueCoach's admin features are light: Zapier from Standard, a NASM CEU Library add-on with a discount of up to 33% (price not shown), and no coach-side data export documented as of our September 2026 profile.

The missing export is worth weighing. If you ever leave, you want your client history, notes and check-ins to come with you. Coachful offers a full client data export as a ZIP (roster, notes, check-ins, goals, habits, sessions and form responses), and coaching agreements with e-signature sent before the first call and stored on the client record. How much does TrueCoach cost in 2026?

TrueCoach's displayed prices run from $26.34 a month for up to 5 clients to $136.99 a month for up to 50, as listed in October 2026. Those are annual-billing rates, shown with badges offering one to two months free; billed-monthly prices were not visible on the page that day.

TrueCoach pricing page listing Starter, Standard and Pro plans by active-client cap
TrueCoach's pricing page in October 2026.

Three things stand out. First, the jump from Standard to Pro buys more client slots but no new features, so coaches between 21 and 50 clients pay more than double for capacity alone. Second, the cap counts active clients, so a growing roster pushes you up a tier even if your revenue per client is low. Third, the price covers delivery only: you still need booking, a website, email and contracts elsewhere.

Here is an illustrative example, not a quote. A coach with 18 online clients on Standard pays $57.99 a month on annual billing, then adds a scheduling tool, a website builder, an email tool and an e-signature tool. Each of those has its own subscription, and the true monthly cost is the sum of all five. Our full TrueCoach pricing breakdown walks through each tier.

What do TrueCoach reviewers praise and complain about?

TrueCoach holds a Trustpilot score of 2.4 from 19 reviews as of October 25, 2026, which is a small base. The reviews split into two clusters: positive coach reviews from early 2025, and a run of one-star reviews in 2025 and 2026 about reliability, support and data control.

We read the 16 reviews visible on the page. Here is what they say, paraphrased.

What reviewers praise

  • Ease of use for programming. Several coaches say it is simple to use and well suited to planning training in advance, tracking clients and keeping communication in one place.
  • Coaching and program features. One coach praises the program features for guiding clients; a long-time user mentions new features and fast customer service.
  • Worth the cost for some. Two reviewers call it expensive compared with competitors but still a good fit for how they coach.
Perfect, but expensive, but perfect (to me).

That review title, from a five-star review in January 2025, sums up the positive camp: people who like it really like it, but they notice the price.

What reviewers complain about

  • Outages and maintenance. A long-time UK coach describes repeated outages that disrupted coaching, and a gym owner with more than 200 users says clients could not see their training during maintenance downtime.
  • Support. Reviewers describe generic replies, no follow-up on escalated issues, and being asked to repeat the same information. One reports recurring charges that support could not match to a subscription.
  • Price rises without product change. One reviewer says the only change in five years has been price increases.
  • Client data control. Several reviews come from clients rather than coaches. They report losing access when a trainer's account went inactive, being unable to export their own workouts, and support declining to delete data after a coaching relationship ended.
  • Feature requests. Coaches asked for folders to organise workouts and a more engaging messaging feature; one now texts clients instead.

The page showed no company replies, and the profile was listed as unclaimed. With only 19 reviews the score can move a lot with a handful of new ones, so treat it as one input alongside your own trial. Still, the recurring themes (uptime, support follow-up and data access) are exactly the things that matter once you have paying clients relying on the app every day.

What are TrueCoach's pros and cons?

TrueCoach's main strengths are its exercise video library and simple programming; its main weaknesses are the narrow scope, client caps and reviewer concerns about support and reliability.

Who is TrueCoach best for?

TrueCoach is best for trainers whose business is mostly writing and adjusting workouts, who already have booking and marketing handled, and who coach fewer than 20 clients.

  • In-person trainers adding remote programming. If the gym handles booking and payments, TrueCoach gives your clients a clean app for the days between sessions.
  • Strength coaches with a fixed roster. A coach with 10 to 20 lifters who mostly need programs and form feedback by message will use most of what Standard offers.
  • New trainers who need demo videos now. The 3,000-video library means you can launch without filming.

It is a weaker fit if you run hybrid coaching (fitness plus mindset or health), sell group programs, offer courses, run discovery calls, or want clients to sign an agreement before day one. Those coaches end up with four to six subscriptions and four to six logins, which is the problem Coachful was built to remove. If that sounds like you, see Coachful for fitness coaches or Coachful for health coaches.

What are the best TrueCoach alternatives?

The best TrueCoach alternative depends on whether you want a bigger workout app or a whole coaching business in one place. We ranked these on four criteria: one login for the whole client journey, between-session delivery, total stack cost, and setup effort.

Which one looks like you?

Coachful builds your coaching website from a few answers, in a design chosen for your niche, with programs, booking and payments ready behind it.

Build your platform

1. Coachful: the whole client journey in one login

Coachful's client goal view on a laptop and its course builder on a tablet on a kitchen counter
Coachful's demo goal view with daily tasks and habits on the laptop and its course builder on the tablet, beside a shaker bottle and oats.

Coachful is a coaching platform where one subscription covers booking, payments, contracts, program delivery with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant. The coach has one login and the client has one branded app.

For a TrueCoach user, the practical difference is that the Fitness & Nutrition pack covers the training side (workout builder, illustrated exercise library, logging with set history and PRs, macros, meal plans, barcode scanning, progress photos, weekly check-ins and form-check video), while the rest of Coachful covers everything TrueCoach leaves out. Multi-week programs carry weekly goals, daily tasks, habits and morning and evening check-ins. Each client record shows goals, check-ins, habits, notes, intake answers, payments, sessions and an AI briefing, with a status of thriving, active, quiet or at risk, so you can see who needs a message before they drift.

Michelle, the built-in AI assistant, works from your live practice data: it builds programs, drafts emails and content, summarises recorded sessions and briefs you before calls. Questions and planning are included in your Coachful membership; confirmed builds and changes use AI credits. Group coaches get a community feed, group chat, video events and cohort groups created automatically when clients enrol in a program (see group coaching software). Courses with modules, drip and completion tracking are delivered into the same client home (see online course platform for coaches).

Here is a short walkthrough of how programs are built and delivered in Coachful:

On cost, Coachful uses flat monthly plans: lower plans cap the number of clients, Pro is unlimited, and team plans add coach seats. For a coach with 20 clients the comparison point is Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients, and that covers the booking, website, email and contracts you would otherwise buy separately. Monthly plans cancel in one click.

Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. On every plan, you can ask the Coachful team to build things for you inside your own account. From Create, choose "We'll build it for you", describe what you need (a website, funnel, sales page, program, course outline, email sequence, form, lead quiz and more), and attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files such as logos, photos and brand guides. The team usually delivers within about 24 hours. Nothing gets invented: no fake credentials, testimonials or prices, and gaps are left for you to fill. Recent builds include a five-page site in sage and cream for a menopause and midlife health coach starting from nothing, with every button leading to a free 20-minute consultation, and a year-long cohort program with an application form, an eight-page site and a free nine-day bootcamp funnel for a real-estate and money coach. It does not cover recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing. Read more in how the free white-glove service works, and imports of clients, programs and content are handled for you during onboarding.

Coachful Create page with the We'll build it for you card
The Create page in Coachful with the We'll build it for you card that starts a white-glove build request.

What Coachful does not do, so you can decide fairly: it is not HIPAA-certified and offers no BAA, so it is not for clinical record-keeping or insurance billing. There is no PayPal and no permanent free plan. There is no Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop or Oura sync, Apple Health sync is not publicly available, and there are no stock exercise videos. The client app runs under the Coachful listing with your branding. How to start: take a free trial, then request a white-glove build of your website or first program. Our Coachful review covers the limits in more depth.

Choose TrueCoach over Coachful only if a ready-made library of thousands of exercise videos or wearable sync matters more to you than booking, contracts, courses and a website in one place.

2. ABC Trainerize: a free start with many add-ons

ABC Trainerize is a fitness and personal-training app with workouts, habits, nutrition tracking and messaging, priced by client seats. As listed in October 2026, Basic is $0 for 1 client, Grow is $10 a month for 2 clients, and Pro starts at $25 a month for 5 clients with tiers up to 200 clients; Studio Plus starts at $275 a month. There is a 30-day free trial with unlimited clients and no card.

The catch is that scheduling, selling products, payments, video and advanced nutrition are separate paid add-ons below Studio, and there is no course builder, website or email marketing. Its Trustpilot score was 3.1 from 100 reviews on October 25, 2026. Pick it over Coachful if you coach a single client at no cost and only need workout delivery.

3. Everfit: the budget workout app

Everfit covers workouts, habits, nutrition and messaging, priced by client count. As listed in October 2026, Starter is free for up to 5 clients and Pro starts at $19 a month for 5 clients, rising to $49 for 20 and $95 for 50 on monthly billing.

Automation (Autoflow), payments and meal plans are paid add-ons, and there is no course builder, website or email marketing. Its Trustpilot score was 2.7 from 16 reviews on October 25, 2026, a similarly small base to TrueCoach. Pick it over Coachful if your budget is close to zero and five clients is enough for now.

4. HubFit: more clients per plan

HubFit is an online-training app for programs, nutrition, habits and check-ins. As listed in October 2026, Standard is $39 a month for up to 50 clients, Premium is $69 for up to 100, and Ultimate starts at $119 for 100 clients, with a 14-day free trial on every plan.

HubFit's client caps are much more generous than TrueCoach's, and its Trustpilot score was 5 from 390 reviews on October 25, 2026. Branding and payments start at Premium, team members and Zapier at Ultimate, and a branded app is a $189 monthly add-on. As of our September 2026 profile it had no booking, video calls, contracts or website. Pick it over Coachful if you coach 30 or more lifters, only need training delivery, and want the lowest cost per client.

5. PT Distinction: pay as you grow

PT Distinction offers programs, nutrition, check-ins, automations and a client app. As listed in October 2026, Basic is $19.90 a month with 3 clients included and $6 per extra client, Pro is $59.90 with 25 included, and Master is $89.90 with 50 included. There is a one-month free trial.

The branded client app is included from Pro, not on Basic, and the pricing page shows no course builder, community or website builder. Its Trustpilot score was 4.8 from 297 reviews on October 25, 2026. Pick it over Coachful if you want deep fitness automations and per-client pricing that grows with you.

6. My PT Hub: bookings and unlimited clients

My PT Hub covers workouts, nutrition, bookings, payments, habits, check-ins and a client app. As listed in October 2026, Starter is $25 a month for 3 clients, Premium is $59 a month with unlimited clients, and Ultimate is $215 a month with 5 additional trainers. There is a 30-day trial with no card, after which the account drops to a free plan.

Unlike TrueCoach, it includes bookings. A white-label app store listing is a paid add-on below Ultimate, and the pricing page shows no course builder, website or email marketing. Its Trustpilot score was 4.4 from 2,557 reviews on October 25, 2026, by far the largest review base here. Pick it over Coachful if you are a personal trainer who wants bookings plus unlimited clients in a fitness-only tool.

How does TrueCoach compare with Coachful side by side?

TrueCoach is a workout app; Coachful is a coaching business platform that includes a fitness pack. The table shows what each covers, based on TrueCoach's October 2026 pricing page and our September 2026 profile.

If you are switching, start by writing down every tool you pay for today next to TrueCoach. That list, not the headline price, is the real comparison. Our coaching software page and the weekly habit review templates guide show how between-session delivery works once everything sits in one place.

How should you decide between TrueCoach and an all-in-one platform?

Decide by counting jobs, not features: list every task between "stranger finds you" and "client renews", then check which tool handles each one.

  1. List your client journey. Discovery, booking a call, signing an agreement, paying, onboarding, weekly programming, check-ins, content, community, renewal.
  2. Mark what TrueCoach covers. For most online coaches that is programming, logging, messaging and payments.
  3. Price the rest. Add each extra subscription you would need for booking, website, email and contracts, at the price on its own pricing page.
  4. Weigh the switching cost. Ask how you would export data later. TrueCoach documents no coach-side export; Coachful exports a full client ZIP.
  5. Trial both with real work. Build one real program and one real client onboarding during each trial rather than clicking around demos.

If your list is short and mostly programming, TrueCoach or one of the fitness apps above will serve you. If your list is long, an all-in-one platform usually costs less in money and in hours. Browse our software reviews for other tools on the same criteria.

What is our final verdict on TrueCoach?

TrueCoach is a capable, narrow workout-delivery app with a large exercise video library and simple programming, held back by tight client caps, a Pro tier that adds no features, missing business tools and a low Trustpilot score with complaints about outages, support and data access.

It is a sensible choice for a trainer who only writes programs and already has booking and marketing covered. For most online coaches, and especially hybrid fitness and health coaches, Coachful is the better buy: one login covers booking, payments, agreements, programs, the Fitness & Nutrition pack, courses, community, your website and email, and the free white-glove service builds your first website or program for you. Current plans: (Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients).

TrueCoach review FAQ

Is TrueCoach worth it in 2026?

It is worth it if you mainly deliver workout programs to fewer than 20 clients and want a ready video library. It is less worth it if you also need booking, contracts, courses or a website, because you will pay for those separately. Use the 14-day trial to test it with a real program.

How much does TrueCoach cost?

As listed in October 2026, TrueCoach shows $26.34 a month for Starter (5 clients), $57.99 for Standard (20 clients) and $136.99 for Pro (50 clients), all on annual billing. Billed monthly, our September 2026 profile listed $29.98, $69.98 and $164.98. Above 50 clients you contact sales.

Does TrueCoach have a free plan or free trial?

There is no free plan. TrueCoach offers a 14-day free trial with no credit card required, plus a 90-day money-back guarantee for first-time annual subscribers, with restrictions.

What is TrueCoach's Trustpilot rating?

TrueCoach had a Trustpilot score of 2.4 from 19 reviews on October 25, 2026. Positive reviews praise ease of use; negative ones cite outages, slow support and client data access. The sample is small, so a few new reviews can shift it.

Does TrueCoach include scheduling or booking?

Scheduling and booking are not on TrueCoach's October 2026 pricing page feature list, and our September 2026 profile found no video calls either. Most coaches pair it with a separate booking tool.

Can I take payments in TrueCoach outside the US?

TrueCoach runs automated payments through Stripe with no extra TrueCoach fee per its FAQ. As of our September 2026 profile, in-app payments were limited to coaches in the US, UK, Canada and Australia.

What is the best TrueCoach alternative?

For coaches who want the whole business in one place, Coachful is our pick: booking, payments, agreements, programs, a fitness pack, courses, community and a website in one login. For a cheaper workout-only app, Everfit and ABC Trainerize have free tiers, and HubFit allows more clients per plan.

Does Coachful have exercise videos and wearable sync like TrueCoach?

No. Coachful has an illustrated exercise library in its Fitness & Nutrition pack and you attach your own demo videos, but it ships no stock exercise videos and does not sync with Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop or Oura. If those are essential, TrueCoach has the edge there.

What is Coachful's free white-glove service?

On every plan, the Coachful team will build a website, funnel, program, course outline, email sequence or similar inside your account from a short request with up to 8 links and 10 files. Builds usually arrive within about 24 hours, and nothing is invented, such as testimonials or credentials. It does not include video recording, logo design or ad management.

Can I move my clients from TrueCoach to Coachful?

Yes. Clients, programs and content are imported for you during Coachful onboarding. Because TrueCoach documents no coach-side export, gather your client list and program details before you cancel so the import has everything it needs.
