Calendly vs Acuity Scheduling: which booking tool should a coach pick?
The short answer
Calendly is the easier tool: a free plan for one event type, $10 a seat for the rest, and sync across Google, Outlook, Exchange and iCloud. Acuity has no free plan but is built for appointment businesses: packages, memberships, classes, intake forms and a HIPAA BAA on Premium. Calendly for discovery calls, Acuity for session packages.

What matters most here
Fair play first,
then the honest answer.
Calendly is the highest-rated tool in this whole set (G2 4.7 from 2,556 reviews) and Acuity's 4.8 on Capterra from 5,758 reviews is about as trusted as scheduling software gets.
Pick Calendly if…
- You mainly need discovery calls and 1:1 sessions booked into your real calendar, and one event type on the free plan might be enough.
- You run a team and want round-robin and collective events (Teams, $16 a seat).
- You want 150+ integrations, Salesforce and HubSpot included, plus an AI notetaker on calls.
- You want the lowest lock-in: bookings stay in your calendar, payments in your Stripe.
Pick Acuity Scheduling if…
- You sell session packages, memberships or subscriptions and want clients to buy and redeem them at booking (Standard, $34).
- You need a HIPAA BAA on your scheduling tool; Acuity Premium ($61) offers one, Calendly's standard plans do not.
- You run classes or workshops with capacity limits and a series schedule.
- Your site is on Squarespace and you want booking embedded natively.
Pick Coachful if…
- You want booking, paid sessions and session credits plus what happens after the call: programs, habits, notes.
- You want contracts, intake and a client portal without adding HoneyBook or Paperbell on top.
- You want SMS and WhatsApp session reminders in the same tool as your community and courses.

Coaches who made the switch
I tried running my coaching business across five different apps. It was a complete waste of time and money. Then I found Coachful. It was everything I need in one platform.

It’s the coaching platform I always wanted — it just didn’t exist yet. I have one dashboard for everything and already saved $1,300 by cancelling all the tech I had duct-taped together.
