Top 5 Coaching Platforms With Built-In Video Calls in 2026

Top 5 Coaching Platforms With Built-In Video Calls in 2026

The best coaching platforms with built-in video calls do more than open a meeting room. They put the call where the client already is: the booking page creates it, the reminder carries the link, the client record holds the notes afterwards, and the work between calls sits one tap away. If your sessions still depend on pasting a Zoom link into an email, a separate calendar tool and a notes app, you are paying three times for one appointment and asking clients to find their way through all three.

Our pick is Coachful, because it handles the whole client journey around the call: booking, payment, agreement, the call itself (built-in video or an auto-created Zoom, Google Meet or Teams link), notes, and the habits and check-ins that keep clients moving until the next one. We make Coachful, so we have ranked it first and explained exactly why below. The other four (Mighty Networks, Skool, Practice Better and Thinkific) each win for a specific kind of practice, and every section ends with the case for choosing it instead.

This guide is built as a decision tool. Answer five questions about your practice, check the table that maps your answers to a platform, then read the sections for the one or two that fit. Prices are as listed by each vendor in October 2026.

What do coaches actually need from built-in video calls?

Coaches need a call that the client can join without hunting for a link, that is created automatically when the session is booked, and that leaves a record behind. Video quality matters, but most coaching sessions fail on logistics long before they fail on bandwidth.

Coaching calls have a different shape from sales meetings or classroom lectures, and that shape decides which features matter:

  • Recurring one-to-one sessions. A 12-week program might hold 12 calls with the same client. Each one needs a booking slot that respects your buffers and time zone, a reminder at the right moment and a link that does not change format between weeks.
  • Small group calls and cohorts. Group coaching, masterminds and accountability calls bring 5 to 30 people into one room. The platform has to know who belongs to which group and send the link only to them.
  • Paid and pre-paid sessions. A single paid session, a package of session credits or a subscription that includes a monthly call all need payment tied to the booking, not chased afterwards.
  • Agreements before the first call. Most coaches want a coaching agreement signed before session one. The ICF Code of Ethics asks coaches to set clear agreements about the coaching relationship, fees and confidentiality (ICF Code of Ethics).
  • Something to do between calls. A 60-minute call is a small share of the client's week. The platforms that keep clients progressing give them habits, check-ins or tasks in the same place they join the call. Our guide to tracking client habits between coaching calls covers why this matters.
  • Notes and preparation. Walking into a session already knowing what the client did since the last one changes the quality of the hour.

If you want the technical background on how built-in video differs from a calendar integration, read our explainer on video call integration for coaching platforms. The short version: native video means the call runs inside the platform; integrated video means the platform creates a link in another provider's account. Both can work. What matters is whether the link appears automatically and whether the session lands on the client record.

Thinking of launching your coaching business?

Answer a few questions and Coachful builds it around you: your website, programs, booking and payments. Ready in minutes.

Build your platform

Which five questions should you answer before choosing?

Answer these five questions about your own practice. Each one rules a platform in or out faster than any feature list.

  1. Are most of your calls one-to-one or group? One-to-one work needs booking pages, availability rules and client records. Group work needs a community or cohort space with scheduled live events.
  2. Do clients pay per session, per package or per month? Per-session and package selling needs paid bookings and credits. Monthly membership selling needs subscriptions and a members area.
  3. What should clients do between calls? If the answer is "watch lessons", a course tool can carry it. If it is "build habits, check in and report progress", you need per-client delivery.
  4. Is your work health-adjacent? Nutrition, wellness and health coaches who work alongside clinicians sometimes need practitioner tools such as charting. Coaching is not clinical treatment, and no platform in this list turns a coach into a provider.
  5. How many tools are you willing to run? Count your current logins: scheduler, video, payments, contracts, email, course host, community. If the honest answer is "fewer", that narrows the field quickly.

Which platform fits your answers?

Match your answers to the rows below. Where two rows fit, the first one usually costs less in total once you add the tools the second one leaves out.

PlatformPick it when your answers sayHow the video call works
CoachfulMostly one-to-one or mixed one-to-one and group; package, session or subscription pricing; clients need habits and check-ins between calls; you want one loginBuilt-in video, or an auto-created Zoom, Google Meet or Teams link on each booking

How did we rank these five?

We considered the coaching and community platforms in our vendor data that list live video in some form, then ranked them on the criteria a coach running calls every week feels most.

Ranking criteria: one login for the whole client journey around the call, delivery between sessions, total stack cost once missing tools are added, and setup effort (including whether someone will build it for you).

We did not test these platforms hands-on for this article. Every claim about another vendor comes from what that vendor documents on its own pricing and product pages as listed in October 2026, or from public review data. A few tools we left out: CoachVantage has its own built-in video (CVMeet), but public reviewers have reported it as weak and many users still run Zoom alongside it. Satori, Paperbell and CoachAccountable are sound coaching back offices, but none presents native video as a core feature in our data.

1. Coachful: the call inside the whole coaching program

Coachful is a coaching platform where the video call is one step in a journey the platform already runs: the client books from your page, pays through your Stripe or Razorpay account, signs your agreement, joins the call from their branded app and then works through habits and check-ins until the next session. One subscription covers booking, payments, contracts, programs, courses, community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant called Michelle.

Where the call lives

Sessions in Coachful can use built-in video or create a Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams link automatically when the client books. That choice matters more than it sounds. Coaches with corporate clients often need Teams because the client's company blocks other tools; coaches with a paid Zoom account may want recordings there. Coachful lets you keep that preference while the booking, reminder and record stay in one place.

The booking side is built for recurring coaching rather than one-off meetings:

  • Availability rules, buffers between sessions, minimum notice and automatic time-zone detection.
  • Two-way sync with Google Calendar, Apple/iCloud Calendar and Outlook, so personal appointments block coaching slots.
  • Email reminders, plus SMS 24 hours before and WhatsApp 1 hour before once messaging is enabled.
  • Paid sessions and session credits, so a 10-session package books down a balance instead of a new checkout each time.
  • Intake questions on the booking form, with answers saved to the client record.
  • Round-robin or least-busy assignment when several coaches share a session type.
Coachful client coaching hub showing the next session and a required pre-session item
The client's coaching hub in demo data: the next call (a Morning Accountability Call) sits at the top, with the pre-session work the client is asked to complete.

On the client's side, the next session appears at the top of their coaching hub, along with anything you asked them to complete before the call. That small detail removes the most common pre-call message coaches receive: "where is the link?"

What happens before and after the call

A coaching agreement with e-signature goes out before the first call and is stored on the client record. The record also holds goals, check-ins, habits, notes, intake answers, tags, payments and every session, and it gives each client a status of thriving, active, quiet or at risk. Before a session, Michelle can brief you from that live data: what the client completed, what they skipped, what they wrote in their last check-in. After a recorded session, Michelle can summarize it. If you want feedback on your own coaching, Michelle can optionally give private notes against ICF Core Competencies 3 to 8.

For ICF credential candidates, Coachful counts coaching hours and distinct clients against ACC, PCC and MCC thresholds and exports an ICF client coaching log with paid and pro bono hours. Every session you run through the calendar feeds that count.

Group calls, cohorts and community

Group calls and webinars run inside the same account. When a client enrolls in a program, Coachful creates the cohort group automatically, so the group's video events, chat and feed are ready without manual invitations. The community also has direct messages and a shared feed for announcing live sessions. If you run masterminds, our list of group coaching icebreakers for calls pairs well with this setup.

Between calls

This is where Coachful separates from tools that only host the meeting. Multi-week programs carry weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars and streaks. Courses, downloads, videos and AI tools are delivered into the client's branded home and app. For coaches who want a version of themselves available between sessions, the AI Coach lets selected clients chat with an AI version of the coach that you configure. Fitness and nutrition coaches using the Fitness & Nutrition pack also get private form-check video with timestamped coach comments, which handles feedback that does not need a live call.

Here is a short walkthrough of how scheduling works inside Coachful:

Pricing and payments

Coachful uses flat monthly plans. Lower plans cap the number of clients, Pro is unlimited, and team plans add coach seats with per-coach availability (current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients). Payments run through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account with a 0% Coachful platform fee since August 2026, so you pay only the processor's fees. Monthly plans cancel in one click, and there is a free trial.

Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. From Create, the "We'll build it for you" option lets you describe what you want built: a booking funnel, a program, a website, an email sequence, a webinar page and more. You can attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files, such as your logo, photos and existing copy. The Coachful team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours. Nothing gets invented, so there are no made-up testimonials, credentials or prices; gaps are left for you to fill. One recent example: a leadership coach whose Squarespace renewal was days away got one clean homepage with a repeated "talk with me" button that led straight to booking. The service does not include recording your videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing. Read more about the free white-glove service.

What Coachful does not do

Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and does not sign a BAA, so it is not the place for clinical records or insurance billing. It does not take PayPal, and there is no permanent free plan. The client app runs under the Coachful listing with your branding, not under your own App Store account. It has no Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop or Oura sync. If you need those, the alternatives below may fit better.

Coachful suits coaches who deliver programs rather than isolated sessions, solo coaches growing into a small team, and anyone replacing four to six tools. See how video fits the rest of the platform on our video calls for coaches page, or start with the scheduling software overview.

2. Mighty Networks: livestreams for paid communities

Mighty Networks is the strongest choice here when your calls are broadcasts to a membership rather than conversations with individuals. It combines a community, courses and events, and every plan includes native livestreaming inside the network.

Mighty Networks homepage introducing its community platform
Mighty Networks's homepage in October 2026.

How much live video does each plan include?

As listed in October 2026, the Launch plan costs $95 a month ($79 a month billed annually) and includes 3 hosts, 10 moderators, 200 GB of storage and 20 hours of livestreaming per month for up to 100 attendees. Scale costs $215 a month ($179 annually) with 30 livestream hours and 200 attendees. Growth is listed at $354 a month on annual billing with 40 hours and up to 1,000 attendees. Mighty Pro, with unlimited hosts, is custom-priced.

For a coach running a weekly 90-minute group call and a monthly workshop, 20 hours covers the schedule with room to spare. The attendee cap matters more: a membership that grows past 100 live attendees forces an upgrade.

What does it leave out for one-to-one coaching?

Mighty Networks has no one-to-one scheduling, invoicing or contracts, and no per-client habits, check-ins or private coaching plans. A coach selling private sessions alongside the community would need a separate scheduler, a separate video link for those sessions and a separate contract tool. Members use Mighty-branded apps; your own branded app comes only with custom-priced Mighty Pro.

What does it cost beyond the subscription?

Mighty takes a platform fee on sales of 2% on Launch, 1% on Scale and 0.5% on Growth and Mighty Pro, plus Stripe processing. There is a 14-day trial with no credit card, and trials include Growth plan features, so check which features drop away when you settle on Launch. On Trustpilot, Mighty Networks held 3.3 from 219 reviews when we checked on 25 October 2026.

Pick it over Coachful if your business is a membership community first, most of your live video is one-to-many livestreaming, and you do not sell private sessions. Compare community tools in our best group coaching platforms roundup.

3. Skool: the low-cost route to weekly group calls

Skool fits coaches who want one group with a classroom, a calendar and live calls at the lowest entry price in this list. Its simplicity is the selling point, and also the limit.

Skool homepage introducing its community and classroom product

Plans and transaction fees

As listed in October 2026, Skool has two plans. Hobby costs $9 a month ($7.50 annually) and Pro costs $99 a month ($82.50 annually). Both list unlimited members, courses, videos and live calls. The difference is the transaction fee: Hobby charges 10% + 30¢ on every transaction, while Pro charges 2.9% + 30¢ on transactions up to $899 and 3.9% + 30¢ above $900. Payments run only through Skool Payments, fees are non-refundable, and payouts happen weekly on Wednesdays in local currency.

Skool pricing page with the Hobby and Pro plans
Skool's pricing page in October 2026.

That fee gap decides the plan faster than features do. As an example, a group of 15 members paying $300 a month brings in $4,500. On Hobby, the listed fee would be $450 plus $4.50 in per-transaction charges. On Pro, it would be about $130.50 plus $4.50. Once monthly sales pass roughly $1,300, Pro usually costs less overall.

Gaps for coaches who also work one-to-one

Skool has no one-to-one client records, intake forms, habits or check-ins. There is no custom-domain website, no funnels, no email automation and no public API. The pricing page shows "Try for free" buttons but did not state a trial length or card requirement when we checked. Public review data is thin and mixed: Trustpilot showed 1.6 from 54 reviews on 25 October 2026. Our Skool pricing breakdown covers the fee maths in more detail.

Pick it over Coachful if you run a single community, paid or not, your calls are all group calls, you are comfortable with Skool handling payments, and you want the cheapest possible start.

Which one looks like you?

Coachful builds your coaching website from a few answers, in a design chosen for your niche, with programs, booking and payments ready behind it.

4. Practice Better: telehealth for wellness practitioners

Practice Better is practice management software for wellness and nutrition practitioners, with scheduling, telehealth, charting, billing, programs and a client portal. Its built-in telehealth sessions sit on top of appointments, which makes it the closest match in this list to a clinic-style workflow.

Practice Better homepage for wellness practitioners

For practitioners who chart

Health-adjacent coaches who work alongside dietitians or other licensed professionals often want charting next to the session. Practice Better provides that, which Coachful and the community tools here do not. A scope note applies to every platform in this list: coaching is not treatment. If a client describes symptoms of a medical or mental-health condition, refer them to a licensed clinician. Where protected health information is involved in the United States, the HIPAA rules from the Department of Health and Human Services apply (HHS HIPAA guidance), so confirm compliance terms with any vendor and check with an attorney if you are unsure. Health coaches who stay within coaching scope can see how Coachful supports them on our health coaches page.

For budgets that start small

As listed in October 2026, Sprout is free for 3 clients and 1 practitioner with 100 MB of storage. Starter costs $35 a month ($25 annually) for 10 clients. Professional costs $69 a month ($59 annually) for 300 clients. Plus costs $99 a month ($89 annually) with unlimited clients, 3 admins and unlimited storage. Team costs $155 a month ($145 annually) for 2 practitioners, with more at $50 each. The Team plan has a 30-day trial and other paid plans 14 days.

For coaches who also market and sell

Evergreen programs, portal branding, a custom URL and SMS start on the Plus plan, so a coach who wants a branded experience pays $99 a month even with a small client list. Practice Better has no website builder or funnel pages in our data, and it runs one practitioner per account below Team. Payments run through Practice Better Payments, powered by Stripe, with rates not listed on the pricing page. Trustpilot showed 3.8 from 87 reviews on 25 October 2026.

Pick it over Coachful if you work in a wellness practice that needs charting and practitioner-style records next to your telehealth calls, and you do not need a website, funnels or a community in the same tool.

5. Thinkific: live cohorts on a course platform

Thinkific is a course platform first. It earns a place for coaches whose business is built around courses and cohorts with live sessions added on top, but its live calls are not native video: they run through Zoom. Thinkific's pricing page, checked on 25 October 2026, lists "Unlimited Zoom sessions, bookable calendars, and attendance tracking" under live cohorts and coaching on the Start plan, and describes its meetings feature as "adding live Zoom lessons to your course". You therefore need a Zoom account alongside Thinkific.

Thinkific homepage introducing its course platform

As listed in October 2026, Start costs $109 a month ($82 annually) with 10,000 current students, 2 admins, one community with 10 spaces, 5 live community events and a maximum group size of 50. Grow costs $219 a month ($164 annually) with 6 admins, 3 communities and a group size of 100. Expand costs $499 a month ($374 annually) with unlimited group size. Prices rose about 10% on 13 August 2026; Start went from $99 to $109. Every self-serve plan includes a 30-day trial.

Things to weigh before choosing it for live coaching:

  • No client habits, daily check-ins or per-client plans; coaching delivery is course-shaped.
  • The branded mobile app is a $199 a month add-on.
  • Thinkific charges no transaction fee with Thinkific Payments, but third-party Stripe or PayPal gateways add a per-plan gateway fee not listed on the page.
  • Trustpilot showed 1.8 from 868 reviews on 25 October 2026.

If your plan is to sell video courses with occasional live calls, our guide to delivering coaching video courses walks through the options.

Pick it over Coachful if your business is mainly courses with thousands of students, live sessions are an add-on to the curriculum, and you already pay for Zoom.

How do the five compare feature by feature?

Here is what each platform documents for the jobs around a coaching call. "Not in our data" means the vendor does not list it in the sources we used; check during a trial.

What will each platform cost at 5, 15 and 40 clients?

Monthly list prices change with client count on two of these platforms and stay flat on the rest. The table shows the cheapest plan that covers each client count, billed monthly, as listed in October 2026.

Platform5 clients15 clients40 clientsWhat else you may pay

The list price is only half the comparison. A coach on Mighty Networks or Skool who also sells private sessions adds a scheduler, contracts and often an email tool. Our Calendly pricing and Kajabi pricing breakdowns show how quickly those add-ons stack up. On Coachful, booking, video, agreements, email and delivery are included in your Coachful membership (plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients).

How would a coach set up video sessions in Coachful, step by step?

Take an example: a leadership coach who sells a 12-week program with weekly one-to-one calls and a monthly group call for everyone currently enrolled. Here is how that runs in Coachful.

A laptop showing a client's coaching hub with the next video session ready to join
An illustration of a client's coaching hub with the next video call and pre-session work in one place.
  1. Connect your calendar. Link Google, Apple/iCloud or Outlook so existing appointments block coaching slots automatically, in both directions.
  2. Create the session type. Set it to 60 minutes and choose built-in video, or Teams if most clients come from companies that use it. Add a 15-minute buffer and 24 hours of minimum notice.
  3. Add intake questions. Ask what the client wants from the first session and what is happening at work right now. The answers land on the client record.
  4. Attach the agreement. Set up your coaching agreement so it goes out for e-signature before the first call.
  5. Price it. Sell the program as a one-time payment, a payment plan or a subscription through your own Stripe account, and give each buyer 12 session credits so they book against a balance.
  6. Turn on reminders. Email reminders are included; enable messaging to add the SMS 24 hours before and the WhatsApp message 1 hour before.
  7. Build the 12 weeks. Add weekly goals, a daily reflection habit and a short evening check-in. If you would rather not build it yourself, send the outline through the free white-glove service.
  8. Schedule the group call. Enrollment creates the cohort group automatically. Add a monthly video event there so every active client sees it in their app.
  9. Prepare and follow up. Before each call, read Michelle's briefing. After it, add notes to the client record, where the session also counts toward your ICF hours.

If clients come to you through free consultations first, read how to move from free coaching calls to paid clients before you set the consultation session type.

What red flags and switching costs should you watch for?

The biggest risk is choosing on video alone and discovering the missing pieces three months in. Watch for these:

  • "Video" that is really a link field. Some platforms advertise video calls but only store a Zoom URL you paste in. Check whether the link is created automatically per booking.
  • Attendee and hour caps. Livestream allowances such as Mighty Networks' 20 hours and 100 attendees on Launch are generous for most coaches but force upgrades for large memberships.
  • Percentage fees that grow with you. A 10% transaction fee is cheap at five clients and expensive at forty. Run the numbers for the revenue you expect next year, not this month.
  • Payment lock-in. Skool requires Skool Payments, and moving payment processors usually means asking every subscriber to re-enter card details. Platforms that use your own Stripe account let subscriptions move with you more easily.
  • Data you cannot take with you. Ask how session history, notes and check-ins export. Coachful exports a full ZIP of roster, notes, check-ins, goals, habits, sessions and form responses.
  • Scope creep in health work. If your calls drift into diagnosis or treatment, the problem is not the software. Refer out and keep coaching within scope.

Switching mid-program costs you client attention more than money. Our guide on switching coaching platforms without disrupting clients covers timing, and on Coachful your clients, programs and content are imported for you during onboarding.

Which coaching platform with built-in video calls should you choose?

Choose Coachful if your calls are part of a program: it books, bills, contracts, hosts or links the call, keeps the notes and runs the habits and check-ins between sessions, all under one login with a free white-glove build to get you started. Choose Mighty Networks for a livestream-led membership community, Skool for a cheap single group with weekly calls, Practice Better for wellness practice work that needs charting beside telehealth, and Thinkific if you are a course business that already pays for Zoom.

Coachful in one paragraph: a coaching platform for coaches who deliver programs, from solo practices to small teams. It covers booking with built-in video or Zoom, Meet and Teams links, payments through your own Stripe or Razorpay account, agreements, programs with habits and check-ins, courses, community, a website with funnels and email, and the Michelle AI assistant. It is not HIPAA-certified, has no PayPal and no permanent free plan. To start, take the free trial and ask the team to build your first program or booking funnel through the free white-glove service.

Frequently asked questions

What is a coaching platform with built-in video calls?

It is coaching software that runs the video session inside the platform or creates the meeting link automatically when a client books. The call connects to the booking, the reminder and the client record. That removes the copy-and-paste step between a scheduler, a video tool and your notes.

Is built-in video better than using Zoom?

Not always. Built-in video keeps clients inside one app, while Zoom, Meet or Teams may suit clients whose employers require them. Coachful supports both, so you are not forcing one answer on every client.

Can I run group coaching calls on these platforms?

Yes. Coachful runs group calls, webinars and video events in cohort groups created on enrollment. Mighty Networks and Skool center on group livestreams and calls, and Thinkific runs live cohorts through Zoom. See our group coaching software page for how cohorts work in Coachful.

Which platform is cheapest for video coaching?

Skool's Hobby plan has the lowest monthly list price at $9, and Practice Better's Sprout plan is free for 3 clients. Skool's Hobby plan charges 10% + 30¢ per transaction, so the cheapest subscription is not always the cheapest total. Compare the full stack you would need, including a scheduler and contracts.

Are these platforms HIPAA compliant?

Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and does not sign a BAA, so it is not for clinical records. Practice Better is built for wellness practitioners; confirm its compliance terms directly before storing health information. Coaching is not treatment, and clients with clinical needs should be referred to a licensed professional.

Can clients join calls from a mobile app?

In Coachful, clients join from the coach-branded experience inside the Coachful app, where their next session, tasks and check-ins appear together. Mighty Networks uses Mighty-branded apps, and Thinkific's branded app is a paid add-on. Learn more on our coaching client app page.

Do any of these platforms send SMS or WhatsApp reminders before calls?

Coachful sends email reminders and, once messaging is enabled, an SMS 24 hours before and a WhatsApp message 1 hour before each session. Practice Better includes SMS from its Plus plan. Reminder support on the community platforms is not documented in our data.

What is Coachful's free white-glove service?

It is a build service included on every Coachful plan. You describe what you need, such as a booking funnel, website, program or email sequence, attach links and files, and the Coachful team builds it in your account, usually within about 24 hours. It does not include recording videos, logo design or ongoing marketing.

Do video calls count toward ICF credential hours?

Check ICF's current credentialing requirements for what counts as a coaching hour. Coachful tracks your hours and distinct clients against ACC, PCC and MCC thresholds and exports an ICF client coaching log. Our guide to the best coaching platforms for ICF coaches covers this further.

Can I use video between calls instead of more live sessions?

Yes. Asynchronous video, such as recorded feedback or form-check clips, can replace some live time. Coachful's Fitness & Nutrition pack includes private form-check video with timestamped coach comments. Read our guide to asynchronous coaching with video messaging for workflows.
