Top 5 Coaching Platforms with Group and 1:1 Coaching, Ranked

Top 5 Coaching Platforms with Group and 1:1 Coaching, Ranked

The best coaching platforms with group and 1:1 coaching let you run a cohort call on Tuesday and a private session on Thursday for the same client, without sending that client to three different logins. The deciding question is not which tool lists the most features. It is where your clients spend the days between calls, and whether your group work and your private work feed one shared record of each person's progress.

Our pick is Coachful. We make Coachful, so read the ranking with that in mind: it puts group programs, cohort chat, private booking, contracts, payments and daily check-ins in one account, and the client sees all of it in one branded app. The four other platforms below each do one half of the hybrid model well and lean on extra tools for the other half. Every competitor fact comes from what the vendor documents, as listed in October 2026, or from public profiles we reviewed in September 2026. We did not run hands-on tests.

This guide is built as a decision tool. Answer five questions about your practice, check which platform your answers point to, then read the ranked reviews, the cost at 5, 15 and 40 clients, and the red flags that make switching expensive later. If you want the wider category first, our roundup of group coaching platforms covers cohorts, masterminds and communities without the 1:1 angle.

What five questions should you answer before choosing a hybrid coaching platform?

Answer these five in writing before you open a single trial. Hybrid coaching breaks software in specific places: the private session that needs a contract, the group member who goes quiet in week three, the payment plan that covers both a cohort seat and three private calls. Your answers tell you which of those breaking points you will actually hit.

  1. Which side carries your revenue? Some coaches sell private packages and add a monthly group call as a bonus. Others sell a cohort and upsell private sessions to the people who want more. A third group sells one bundled offer where every client gets both. The side that pays the bills needs the stronger tooling; the other side can be lighter.
  2. Do clients do work between sessions? If your method depends on daily habits, weekly goals or morning and evening check-ins, the platform has to deliver and track that work per person, even inside a group. Course and community tools usually stop at lessons and posts.
  3. Is your group a cohort or an always-open community? A cohort has a start date, a fixed curriculum and a closing call. An evergreen community has rolling joins and no finish line. Cohort-first coaches need groups created per intake; community-first coaches need moderation and live events. Our piece on cohort versus evergreen programs for small audiences helps if you have not decided.
  4. How many clients will you serve in the next 12 months? Write a realistic number: 5, 15 or 40 is a useful bracket. Platforms that bill per active client or cap clients per tier change price as you grow, which matters more in group work, where one launch can add twenty people in a week.
  5. What paperwork does your private work need? Private coaching often comes with a signed coaching agreement, invoices, payment plans and intake questions before the first call. Group-first platforms rarely handle that, so you either add tools or pick a platform that covers it.

Two follow-up questions are worth noting if they apply: will a second coach join you to run group calls, and do you need to log coaching hours toward an ICF credential? Both narrow the list fast.

How did we rank these platforms?

We ranked on four things that decide whether a hybrid practice runs smoothly, in this order: one login for the whole client journey across group and private work; delivery between sessions (habits, check-ins, tasks); the total monthly cost once you add any tools a platform is missing; and the setup effort before your first cohort launches. We excluded pure scheduling tools and pure email tools, because a coach running both formats needs more than a booking link.

Ranking criteria: one login for group and 1:1 delivery, between-session tracking, total stack cost, and setup effort.

1. Coachful: why does it rank first for group and 1:1 coaching?

Coachful ranks first because the group program and the private session live on the same client record. When a cohort member books a private call, you see their check-in streak, habit progress, intake answers and payment history on one screen, and the client sees their group week and their next 1:1 session in one app under your branding.

A laptop showing a month of group and private sessions next to a tablet showing an enrolled group program
Coachful's session calendar with 1:1 and group calls on a laptop, beside the client's group program view on a tablet.

Coachful is a coaching platform for coaches who deliver programs, not just sessions: solo coaches growing into a small team, and coaches replacing four to six separate tools. One subscription covers booking, payments, contracts, program delivery with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant called Michelle. It does not do clinical record-keeping, insurance billing or PayPal, and it is not HIPAA-certified. To start, take a free trial and request the free white-glove build described below. It is the core of our group coaching software and program software.

How the group side runs

You build a multi-week program with weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars and streaks. When a client enrolls, Coachful creates their cohort group automatically, so a new intake gets its own group chat and space without you setting it up by hand. Around that sit the community feed, direct messages, video events, group calls and webinars. Courses with modules, drip and completion tracking are delivered into the same branded client home and app, which matters if your group curriculum has recorded lessons between live calls.

For the live calls, you can use built-in video or have Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams links created automatically. Reminders go out by email, plus SMS 24 hours before and WhatsApp one hour before once messaging is enabled. If a second coach co-facilitates, team plans add coach seats with per-coach availability and staff permissions, and multi-coach session types can assign by round-robin or least-busy.

How private sessions fit in

The 1:1 side uses booking pages with availability rules, buffers, minimum notice and time-zone detection, with two-way sync to Google, Apple/iCloud and Outlook calendars. Sessions can be paid individually or drawn from session credits, and intake questions can be attached to the booking. A coaching agreement with e-signature goes out before the first call and is stored on the client record. Payments run through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account and support one-time payments, subscriptions, payment plans, order bumps and coupons, so a "cohort seat plus three private calls" bundle is one checkout, not two.

What happens between calls

This is where hybrid practices usually leak clients. Each client record shows a status of thriving, active, quiet or at risk next to their check-ins, habits, notes and sessions. In a group of twenty, that tells you which three people need a private nudge this week. Before a 1:1 session, Michelle can brief you from live practice data, and she can summarize recorded sessions afterwards. Coaches who want it can also configure an AI Coach, an AI version of themselves that selected clients can chat with between sessions.

Coachful also tracks coaching hours and distinct clients against ICF ACC, PCC and MCC thresholds and exports an ICF client coaching log with paid and pro bono hours. Our guide to platforms for ICF coaches covers that side in detail.

Here is a walkthrough of how programs are built and delivered inside Coachful:

Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. From Create, the "We'll build it for you" option lets you describe what you want built: a website, a funnel, a sales page for your hybrid offer, a program, a course outline, a coaching flow, an email sequence or an event page. You can attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files, such as logos, brand guides or existing copy. The Coachful team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours, and leaves gaps for you rather than inventing credentials, testimonials or prices. One recent build: a real-estate and money coach got a year-long cohort program with an application form, an eight-page site and a free nine-day bootcamp funnel. The service is free on every plan and does not cover recording videos, logo design or ad management. More detail is in our white-glove service guide.

Where Coachful is not the right fit

Coachful is not a course marketplace, so it will not bring you buyers the way a marketplace listing might. It has no PayPal, no permanent free plan, no Salesforce or HubSpot integration and no multi-stage deal board for large sales teams. The client app ships under the Coachful listing with your branding, not under your own App Store account. Lower plans cap the number of clients, Pro is unlimited, and monthly plans cancel in one click (current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients).

2. Kajabi: is it the right choice if your group side is a product business?

Kajabi suits a coach whose group work is really a knowledge-product business: a flagship course, a paid community and email funnels that fill both, with private coaching sold to a smaller set of buyers. It is a course, community, website, funnel and email platform, and it treats coaching as a product or community you sell rather than a per-client plan you deliver.

Kajabi homepage promoting its course, community and website platform
Kajabi's homepage in October 2026.

For the group half, that model works. You can build a course, open a community, run a website and send email from one account. For the 1:1 half, the gaps are specific. Kajabi does not offer habit tracking or daily client check-ins, and there is no per-client plan where you assign tasks to one person and watch them complete it. If your private clients need structure between calls, you would add a separate tool for that or keep it in shared documents.

Pricing as listed in October 2026: Basic is $179 per month ($143 per month billed annually) with 5 products, 2,500 contacts, 1 community, 1 website, 2 admin users and 0 AI credits. Growth is $249 per month ($199 annually) with 50 products, 25,000 contacts, 11 admin users and 500 AI credits. Pro is $499 per month ($399 annually) with unlimited products, 100,000 contacts and 3 communities. For a hybrid coach, the five-product cap on Basic is the line to watch: if your cohort, your private package, a self-paced course and a lead magnet are each separate products, you are near the ceiling before launching a second cohort.

Payment fees depend on processor. With Kajabi Payments in the US, card fees are 2.9% plus $0.30 on Basic, 2.8% plus $0.30 on Growth and 2.7% plus $0.30 on Pro. If you use another processor (PayPal excepted), Kajabi adds 2% on Basic, 1% on Growth or 0.5% on Pro on top of that provider's fees. The standard trial runs 14 days according to Kajabi's help center; a card is optional, and some features, including bulk contact import, test emails and some automations, stay locked until a paid plan is active. That last point matters if you plan to import an existing client list during the trial.

Kajabi showed 3.4 on Trustpilot from 2,347 reviews when we checked in October 2026.

Pick it over Coachful if your revenue comes mainly from courses and a paid community sold through funnels, private coaching is a small premium tier, and your clients do not need daily habits or check-ins tracked between calls.

3. Mighty Networks: does a community-first platform handle private sessions?

Mostly no. Mighty Networks is a community, course and events platform with Mighty-branded member apps, strong on the group experience and silent on private sessions. It ranks third because, for a coach whose group is an always-open membership with livestreams, the group side is very well served, and the 1:1 side can be added with a booking tool.

Mighty Networks homepage introducing its community, courses and events platform
Mighty Networks's homepage in October 2026.

As listed in October 2026, the Launch plan costs $95 per month ($79 per month annually) and includes 3 hosts, 10 moderators, 200 GB of storage and 20 hours of livestreaming a month for up to 100 attendees. Scale costs $215 per month ($179 annually) with 5 hosts, 15 moderators and 30 livestream hours for up to 200 attendees. Growth is listed at $354 per month billed annually with 10 hosts and livestreams for up to 1,000 attendees. Mighty Pro, which is where your own branded apps become available, is custom-priced.

On top of the subscription, Mighty takes a platform fee on sales: 2% on Launch, 1% on Scale and 0.5% on Growth and Mighty Pro, plus Stripe processing. For a coach selling a high-ticket group program, that percentage adds up faster than the plan price. The 14-day trial needs no credit card and includes Growth features, so check which of the features you test are actually on the plan you will buy.

The private side is the problem. Mighty Networks has no 1:1 scheduling, invoicing or contracts, and no per-client habits, check-ins or private coaching plans. A hybrid coach on Mighty typically adds a scheduling tool for private calls (Calendly's Standard plan, for example, is listed at $10 per seat per month billed annually), a way to send and store coaching agreements, and a payment link for private packages. That is three more places where a client's history lives, and none of them talk to the community about who is going quiet. Mighty showed 3.3 on Trustpilot from 219 reviews in October 2026.

Where Mighty is genuinely strong is scale of live events and moderation. If your group calls regularly draw more than a hundred people and you rely on volunteer moderators, the host and moderator counts on each plan are generous. Our community platform buying guide goes further into that comparison.

Pick it over Coachful if your group is a large, always-open community with frequent livestreams, private sessions are rare enough to manage with a separate booking link, and you are comfortable paying a percentage of each sale.

4. CoachVantage: how far does a practice-management tool stretch into group work?

Further than most practice tools, but it stays private-first. CoachVantage is coaching practice management: CRM, scheduling, contracts with e-signature, invoices, a client portal, group programs and small courses, priced per coach with unlimited clients. For a coach whose revenue comes from private engagements and who runs one or two small groups, it covers the paperwork side of hybrid coaching well.

CoachVantage homepage introducing its coaching practice management software
CoachVantage's homepage in October 2026.

Plan limits decide whether the group side works for you. As listed in October 2026, Clarity costs $39 per month ($35 per month annually) and includes unlimited contacts and engagements but caps you at 2 group programs, 2 sales pages, 2 booking pages, 4 e-signatures a month, 2 contract templates, 2 courses and 500 MB of storage. Aha! costs $59 per month ($53 annually) and lifts group programs, cohorts, sales pages, booking pages and e-signatures to unlimited, with 5 contract templates, 5 courses and 1 GB. A coach launching a new cohort each quarter will outgrow Clarity within six months, so budget for Aha! from the start.

The 14-day trial needs no credit card. CoachVantage states it takes no commission on the revenue you earn; Stripe or PayPal fees apply. Unlimited clients on both plans means your bill does not jump when a cohort fills, which is a real advantage over per-client tools.

The limits show up in two places for hybrid coaching. First, in our September 2026 review of public profiles, CoachVantage had no team or multi-coach features, so a co-facilitator for group calls would need their own account. Second, the built-in video (CVMeet) was reported as weak by public reviewers, and many users still run calls on Zoom. Daily habits and check-ins are not among the plan features CoachVantage highlights, so between-session accountability for a group of twenty relies on you. A community feed is not among the listed features either, so plan where group conversation will happen.

Where it lines up best is a private-first coach who wants contracts, invoices and a clean CRM, and treats the group as a quarterly add-on. If that is you, our guide on packaging 1-on-1 coaching with masterminds shows offer structures that suit this setup.

Pick it over Coachful if private engagements carry nearly all your revenue, your group work is one or two small programs a year, you work alone, and you are happy to run group calls on Zoom.

5. Thinkific: when does a course platform work for live coaching?

Thinkific works when a self-paced course is the core offer and live coaching is the layer that makes it premium. It is a course platform with communities, memberships and coaching or webinar products, so the group side is covered through course cohorts, community spaces and live community events. Private coaching is the weaker half.

Thinkific homepage introducing its course and community platform
Thinkific's homepage in October 2026.

As listed in October 2026, Start costs $109 per month ($82 per month annually) for 10,000 current students, 2 admins, 1 community with 10 spaces, 5 live community events, 200 GB a month of video bandwidth and a listed maximum group size of 50. Grow costs $219 per month ($164 annually) with 6 admins, 3 communities with 20 spaces, 400 GB of bandwidth and a group size of 100. Expand is $499 per month ($374 annually). Prices rose about 10% on August 13, 2026: Start went from $99 to $109 and Grow from $199 to $219. Thinkific's pricing page displayed euro prices when we captured it in October 2026.

Payments carry no Thinkific transaction fee when you use Thinkific Payments, at a rate Thinkific describes as in line with other processors at 2.9%. Third-party Stripe or PayPal gateways carry an extra per-plan gateway fee that the pricing page does not quantify. The 30-day trial applies to every self-serve plan.

For private sessions, public profiles we reviewed in September 2026 report no built-in 1:1 scheduling; coaching products rely on external booking links. There are no client habits, daily check-ins or per-client plans, and a branded mobile app is a $199 per month add-on. Public sentiment is weak: Thinkific showed 1.8 on Trustpilot from 868 reviews in October 2026. Add a scheduling tool and an agreement tool, and the true cost of a hybrid practice on Thinkific sits well above the plan price.

The live community event cap on Start (five) is also worth reading carefully. If you run weekly group calls inside the community, check during the trial how that limit is counted. If courses and coaching together are your model, our comparison of platforms that combine courses and 1:1 coaching goes deeper.

Pick it over Coachful if you sell a large self-paced course to thousands of students, live group calls are a monthly bonus, and private coaching is a handful of booked calls you are happy to schedule through a separate link.

How do the features compare side by side?

The table below lists what each vendor documents for the features hybrid coaches ask about most. "Not listed" means we found no mention in what the vendor publishes, not that the feature is impossible.

What will each platform cost at 5, 15 and 40 clients?

At 5, 15 and 40 clients, the flat-priced platforms stay level while the gaps you fill with extra tools stay constant too. The table uses monthly list prices as listed in October 2026; annual billing is cheaper on every platform that offers it. Processing fees are on top for everyone.

An illustrative example of how fees change the picture: if a coach sells $4,000 of group seats in a month on Mighty Networks Launch, the 2% platform fee is $80 before Stripe processing. That number is an example, not a forecast. Our comparison of coaching platforms with no transaction fees covers the fee side in detail, and Coachful's payment features explain how processing works with your own Stripe account.

How would you set up a group and 1:1 program in Coachful?

Here is an illustrative setup for a 12-week hybrid program with six fortnightly group calls and three private sessions per client. The structure is an example; your session counts and pricing will differ.

A laptop showing a client's coaching hub with the next session beside a phone showing a group community feed
A client's coaching hub with the next private session on the laptop, and the group community feed on the phone.
  1. Build the program. Start from one of the 40-plus program templates or ask Michelle to draft one. Add weekly goals, daily tasks, a few habits and morning and evening check-ins. Keep the daily ask small; a group of twenty will not all do forty minutes a day.
  2. Create the offer. Set up one checkout that includes the program and the private sessions as session credits. Add a payment plan for clients who want to split the fee, and an order bump for an extra private call. Our guide on packaging group coaching with one-to-one sessions shows how to set the price for each part.
  3. Attach the agreement. Add your coaching agreement so it goes out for e-signature before the first call. Spell out what the private sessions cover, how the group confidentiality works, and when you refer out.
  4. Set the booking rules. Create a private session type with buffers and minimum notice, connect your calendar with two-way sync, and add two or three intake questions that tell you what the client wants from the call.
  5. Schedule the group calls. Add the six group calls with built-in video or an auto-created Zoom, Meet or Teams link. The cohort group is created when clients enroll, so the chat is ready on day one. Our group call structure article has a 75-minute agenda you can reuse.
  6. Turn on reminders. Set email reminders, then enable messaging for SMS 24 hours before and WhatsApp one hour before each call.
  7. Watch the statuses weekly. Every Monday, filter clients by quiet or at risk and offer those people their next private session early. Before each private call, read Michelle's briefing so you walk in knowing their check-in trend.

If you already have private clients you want to move into this structure, read our guide to transitioning private clients to a group before you announce it.

What red flags and switching costs should you watch for?

The biggest red flags in hybrid coaching software are pricing that grows with each group member, fees that take a share of every cohort sale, and limits that only show up at your second launch. Switching costs then lock those problems in.

  • Per-active-client pricing. Some coaching tools bill by active client. CoachAccountable, for example, lists $250 per month for 50 active clients on Level 4. Fine for a private practice; painful the week a cohort of twenty-five enrolls.
  • Platform fees on sales. Mighty Networks takes 0.5% to 2%, Kajabi adds 0.5% to 2% on non-Kajabi processors, and Skool's Hobby plan takes 10% plus 30 cents per transaction. Group programs concentrate revenue in launches, so these fees bite hardest exactly when you are busiest.
  • Caps on group features. CoachVantage Clarity allows 2 group programs; Thinkific Start lists 5 live community events. Count how many cohorts and calls you plan to run in a year, then read the caps.
  • Branded apps as add-ons. Thinkific charges $199 per month for a branded app; Mighty Networks puts its own branded apps on custom-priced Mighty Pro.
  • Trials that show more than you will buy. Mighty Networks trials include Growth features. Kajabi keeps bulk contact import locked until you pay, which complicates migrating a client list during the trial.

Switching costs fall into three buckets. Client history (notes, check-ins, goals and session logs) is the hardest to move, so ask any vendor what its export contains before you sign up; Coachful exports a full ZIP of roster, notes, check-ins, goals, habits, sessions and form responses. Recurring payments often have to be recreated on the new platform, which means asking clients to re-enter cards. Community history usually stays behind, so many coaches time a switch with a new cohort start. Coachful imports clients, programs and content for you during onboarding. Our step-by-step guide on switching platforms without disrupting clients covers the timing.

Which platform should you choose?

Choose Coachful if your clients do real work between calls and you want group and private coaching on one record, one checkout and one client app. It is the only platform here that creates cohort groups on enrollment, books private sessions with credits and contracts, and tracks habits and check-ins per person, all in one login. The free white-glove build removes most of the setup effort.

Choose Kajabi if your group side is really a course and community business with private coaching as a small premium tier. Choose Mighty Networks for a large, always-open community with frequent livestreams. Choose CoachVantage if private engagements carry nearly all your revenue and groups are occasional. Choose Thinkific if a self-paced course with thousands of students is the core product. If you are still deciding how to grow from private work into groups, our guide to scaling from 1-on-1 to group coaching is a good next read.

Frequently asked questions

Can one platform really handle both group and 1:1 coaching?

Yes, if it combines programs, groups, booking and client records. Coachful does this in one account. Course and community platforms such as Kajabi, Mighty Networks and Thinkific handle the group side well but rely on extra tools or products for private sessions and between-session tracking.

Is Kajabi good for 1:1 coaching?

Kajabi lets you sell coaching as a product next to courses and communities, but it has no habit tracking, daily check-ins or per-client plans. It suits coaches whose private work is a small premium tier rather than the core of the practice.

Do I need a separate community tool if I use Coachful?

Usually not. Coachful includes a community feed, group chat, direct messages, video events, group calls and webinars, and it creates cohort groups automatically when clients enroll in a program. These are included in your Coachful membership.

How should I price a bundle of group seats and private sessions?

Price the group seat on the outcome of the program, then add the private sessions as a visible extra rather than hiding them. Our guide on packaging group coaching with 1:1 walks through the structure, and our early-bird pricing guide helps fill the first cohort.

What is Coachful's free white-glove service?

You describe what you want built, such as a website, funnel, program, sales page or email sequence, attach up to 8 links and 10 files, and the Coachful team builds it inside your account, usually within about 24 hours. It is free on every plan and does not include video recording, logo design or ad management.

Can I run Coachful group calls on Zoom?

Yes. Coachful can create Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams links automatically, or you can use its built-in video. Reminders go out by email, and by SMS and WhatsApp once messaging is enabled. Our comparison of platforms with built-in video calls has more detail.

Which of these platforms charges per client?

None of the five ranked here bills strictly per client. Kajabi caps contacts by plan, CoachVantage lists unlimited contacts, Mighty Networks and Thinkific price by plan features, and Coachful's lower plans cap the number of clients while Pro is unlimited. Per-active-client billing is more common among other coaching back-office tools.

Is Coachful HIPAA compliant?

No. Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and does not sign a BAA, so it is not suitable for clinical record-keeping or insurance billing. Coaching is not therapy; if a group member or private client raises something clinical, refer them to a licensed professional.

Can a co-coach run the group calls while I handle private sessions?

Yes. Coachful's Studio and Agency team plans add coach seats with per-coach availability and staff permissions, and multi-coach session types can assign by round-robin or least-busy. See our page for coaching teams.
