Top 5 Course Platforms for Career Coaches: Ranked and Reviewed

The best course platforms for career coaches do more than host video lessons. A career client is buying an outcome: a new role, a promotion, a clean pivot into a different field. The course is one piece of that, sitting next to resume and LinkedIn reviews, mock interviews, a negotiation script and the weekly accountability that keeps a job search moving when the replies dry up. So the deciding question is not which tool plays video best. It is which tool can carry a client from the first lead magnet to a signed offer without four extra logins and four extra bills.
Our pick is Coachful, because it runs the course, the booking page, the checkout, the coaching agreement and the between-session check-ins in one branded client app. We make Coachful, so weigh that accordingly. Below we rank it against Kajabi, Thinkific, LearnWorlds and Podia using what each vendor documents and lists on its pricing page in October 2026, and we say plainly where a rival is the better fit. If you want the wider category first, our guide to the best course creation platforms for coaches covers twelve tools across every niche, and the best software for career coaches looks beyond courses.
What do career coaches need from a course platform at each stage of the client journey?
Career coaches need a platform that handles four stages: attracting job seekers with useful free material, enrolling them into a paid package, delivering a course alongside live coaching, and keeping alumni close for the next career move. Most course tools cover the middle stage well and leave the edges to other apps.
Attract: lead magnets that prove you know the hiring process
Career coaching sells on credibility. Typical lead magnets are a resume checklist, a LinkedIn headline swipe file, a short email course on answering "tell me about yourself", or a live webinar on how recruiters screen applications. To run those you need a website with a blog, a lead-magnet funnel, an email sequence that follows up for a week or two, and a link-in-bio page you can put in your LinkedIn Featured section. Tracking matters too: if you run LinkedIn or Meta ads, you want pixels and UTM parameters on every page so you know which post filled the webinar.
Enroll: fit calls, applications and payment plans
Most career coaching packages are sold on a call. The platform needs a booking page with intake questions (current role, target role, timeline, biggest blocker), time-zone detection for international clients, and buffers so you are not back to back. Higher-ticket programs often need an application form first. At checkout, payment plans matter because people between jobs are watching cash flow. Before the first session, a signed coaching agreement should set scope: you coach the search, you do not guarantee an offer, and you are not giving legal advice on an employment contract.
Deliver: a course plus the work between calls
The course carries the repeatable teaching: positioning, resume, LinkedIn, networking, interviews, negotiation. The coaching carries everything personal. Between calls, clients need weekly targets (tailored applications sent, outreach messages, mock interview practice), a way to report in, and a place to download templates. A job search has long quiet stretches, so a platform that shows you who has gone silent is worth more here than one with fancier video players. If you are planning the curriculum itself, our walkthrough on turning a coaching framework into an online course helps you decide what belongs in lessons and what belongs in sessions.
Retain: the first 90 days in the new role and the next promotion
A placed client is your best referral source. Retention means an alumni community, a short "first 90 days" program, occasional group calls, and email that does not stop once the offer letter arrives. A signature course can also become the entry point for repeat buyers later; our piece on mini courses versus signature courses covers which format leads clients back to coaching.
A scope note for career coaches. Career coaching is not legal, immigration or financial advice. Refer clients to an employment attorney for contract, non-compete, severance or discrimination questions, to a licensed immigration professional for visa issues, and to a licensed mental health professional if job loss is bringing distress that goes beyond coaching. Put that line in your agreement and in your course welcome lesson.
How did we rank these five course platforms?
We ranked each platform on how much of the career client journey it covers in one login, how well it supports the work clients do between sessions, the total monthly cost of a working stack, and how long it takes to set up. Facts come from each vendor's own pages and pricing as listed in October 2026, plus public reviewer ratings where noted. We did not run paid accounts on every tool, so where a feature is not in the vendor's documentation we say "not listed" rather than guess.
Ranking criteria: one login for the whole client journey, between-session delivery, total stack cost, and setup effort including Coachful's free white-glove build.
| Platform | Rank | Best for | Entry price as listed | Main gap for career coaches |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | 1 | Career coaches who sell a course alongside 1:1 and group coaching | Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients | Not a course marketplace; no PayPal |
| Kajabi | 2 | Coaches with a large audience selling knowledge products | $179/mo ($143/mo billed annually) | No per-client plans, habits or check-ins |
| Thinkific | 3 | Course-first job-search curricula and cohorts | $109/mo ($82/mo billed annually) | No built-in 1:1 scheduling |
| LearnWorlds | 4 | Selling training to career centers, outplacement firms and employers | $29/mo plus $5 per paid enrollment | Not built for 1:1 client management |
| Podia | 5 | Templates, a mini course and a few paid calls | $49/mo plus a 5% transaction fee | Small email allowances; no native video calls |
Which platform covers which stage of a career client's journey?
Only one of the five covers all four stages without add-ons; the others are strongest in delivery and partial elsewhere. This table maps each tool to the attract, enroll, deliver and retain stages described above.
| Platform | Attract | Enroll | Deliver | Retain |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Website with blog, lead-magnet and webinar funnels, email sequences, link-in-bio page | Booking with intake questions, application funnels, payment plans, e-signed agreements | Courses with drip, 1:1 and group sessions, weekly goals, habits, check-ins | Community, cohort groups, client status flags, AI Coach between sessions |
| Kajabi | Website, funnels, email (2,500 contacts on Basic) | Checkout with Kajabi Payments | Courses and coaching products | Community (one on Basic and Growth) |
| Thinkific | Course and membership storefront | Checkout with Thinkific Payments | Courses, live community events, webinars; 1:1 booking needs an outside tool | Communities and memberships; branded app is an add-on |
| LearnWorlds | Website builder, page funnels, mass email | Checkout with Stripe or PayPal | Courses, SCORM, interactive video | Client groups on the Learning Center plan; app is an add-on |
| Podia | Storefront and email (100 to 1,000 subscribers included) | Checkout with Stripe or PayPal | Courses, downloads, webinars, coaching sessions | Community spaces; no mobile app |
1. Coachful: the best course platform for career coaches who also coach

Coachful is a coaching platform where the course is one part of a larger client journey. One subscription covers booking, payments, contracts, program delivery with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant. The coach has one login and the client has one app carrying the coach's branding. It is built for coaches who deliver programs rather than only sessions, solo coaches growing into a small team, and coaches replacing four to six separate tools. That describes many career coaching businesses: a course for the teaching, calls for the personal work, and a pile of apps holding it together.
How it handles each stage of the career journey
Attract. The section-based website builder includes a blog, a custom domain, SEO settings and 30 designed homepage templates, plus an Import website option if you already have a site. Lead-magnet, webinar, booking, application and checkout funnels support pixels and UTM tracking, so a LinkedIn post promoting a resume teardown webinar can be traced to sign-ups. Email lists, broadcasts and multi-step sequences with triggers, delays, branching and A/B splits handle the follow-up. A link-in-bio page that sells fits neatly into a LinkedIn Featured section.
Enroll. Booking pages have availability rules, buffers, minimum notice, time-zone detection and intake questions, with two-way Google, Apple/iCloud and Outlook calendar sync and auto-created Zoom, Meet or Teams links (or built-in video). Payments run through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account: one-time, subscriptions, payment plans, order bumps, coupons, refunds, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Stripe Tax. An order bump is a natural place to add a LinkedIn profile review to a course purchase. Coaching agreements with e-signature go out before the first call and are stored on the client record; see coaching contracts for how that works.
Deliver. Courses have modules, lessons, drip release and completion tracking, and sit next to downloads, videos, books, AI tools, events and bundles in the client's branded home and app. Your resume templates and interview question banks live in the same place as the lessons. The bigger difference is programs: multi-week plans with weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars and streaks. A weekly target of ten tailored applications becomes something the client ticks off, not something you ask about on the next call.

Retain. A community feed, group chat, direct messages and video events give alumni somewhere to stay. Cohort groups are created automatically when a client enrolls in a program, which suits a job-search bootcamp that starts on a fixed date. Each client record shows goals, check-ins, habits, notes, intake answers, tags, payments and sessions, and a status of thriving, active, quiet or at risk, so the client who stopped checking in after three rejections shows up before they disappear.

Templates, AI help and ICF hours
Coachful ships more than 40 ready-to-film program templates and 48 course templates with quizzes, so a six-module job-search course does not start from a blank page. Michelle, the built-in AI assistant, works from your live practice data: she can build a program outline, draft emails, summarize recorded sessions and brief you before each call. Questions and planning are included in your Coachful membership; confirmed builds and changes use AI credits. The separate AI Coach is an AI version of you that selected clients can chat with between sessions, configured by you. For coaches working toward an ICF credential, ICF hour tracking counts coaching hours and distinct clients against ACC, PCC and MCC thresholds and exports a client coaching log with paid and pro bono hours.

This short walkthrough shows how content such as courses, downloads and videos is organized for clients:

Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. On every plan, you can open Create, choose "We'll build it for you · FREE", describe what you want, attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files (logos, photos, brand guides, copy, documents), and the Coachful team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours. For a career coach that could be the website, a webinar funnel, a course outline with written lesson material, an email sequence or an application form. Nothing is invented: no fake credentials, testimonials or prices, and gaps are left for you to fill. It does not cover recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing. One recent build: a leadership coach with a Squarespace renewal days away got one clean homepage with a repeated "talk with me" button. More examples are in our write-up of the white-glove service.

What Coachful does not do
Coachful is not a course marketplace, so it will not bring you students who are browsing for career courses; you bring the audience. It has no PayPal, no permanent free plan and no third-party plugins. The client app ships under the Coachful listing with your branding, not under your own App Store account. There is no Salesforce or HubSpot integration and no multi-stage sales deal board for large teams, which matters if you sell corporate outplacement contracts through a long sales cycle. The affiliate program tracks links, clicks, conversions and revenue, but payouts to referrers are recorded manually. It is not HIPAA-certified, which rarely affects career work. You can export the full client data as a ZIP and export courses, and clients, programs and content are imported for you during onboarding.
Pricing is a set of flat monthly plans; lower plans cap the number of clients, Pro is unlimited, team plans add coach seats, and monthly plans cancel in one click. Current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients. There is a 0% Coachful platform fee, so you pay only Stripe or Razorpay processing. To start, take a free trial and request the free white-glove build on day one. The Coachful for career coaches page shows the setup in more detail.
2. Kajabi: strongest for career coaches who already have a big audience

Kajabi suits a career coach whose business is mostly content: a well-followed newsletter or LinkedIn presence, a flagship course, a paid community and occasional coaching sold as a product. It is a course, community, website, funnel and email platform for selling knowledge products.
Kajabi for a career coach with an audience
If you can fill a $497 "Land the Interview" course from your email list (an example price, not a recommendation), Kajabi gives you the course, the sales page, the funnel and the email in one place. The Growth plan raises limits to 50 products and 25,000 contacts, which leaves room for a lead-magnet library, a mini course and several cohorts. Coaching is handled as products and communities rather than per-client plans: you can sell access to a coaching offer, but Kajabi's documented features do not include habit tracking or daily client check-ins.
What Kajabi costs in October 2026
As listed in October 2026, Basic is $179/mo ($143/mo billed annually) with 5 products, 2,500 contacts, one community, one website, two admin users and no AI credits. Growth is $249/mo ($199/mo annually) with 50 products, 25,000 contacts, 11 admin users and 500 AI credits. Pro is $499/mo ($399/mo annually) with unlimited products, 100,000 contacts, three communities, three websites and 1,000 AI credits. The trial is 14 days; a card is optional, but if you enter one Kajabi places an authorization hold and charges when the trial ends, and some features such as bulk contact import stay locked until you activate a paid plan.

Payment fees depend on processor. Kajabi Payments in the US costs 2.9% + $0.30 on Basic, 2.8% + $0.30 on Growth and 2.7% + $0.30 on Pro. Using another processor (other than PayPal) adds a Kajabi fee of 2% on Basic, 1% on Growth or 0.5% on Pro on top of that processor's own charges.
Gaps for 1:1 career work
The Basic plan's five-product cap fills fast for a career coach: a resume course, an interview course, a negotiation workshop, a community and one coaching offer and you are out. The documented features do not include per-client plans, weekly targets or daily check-ins, so the accountability side of a job search would sit in another app or in your inbox. On Trustpilot, Kajabi showed 3.4 from 2,347 reviews when we checked on October 25, 2026.
Pick it over Coachful if your revenue comes mainly from selling courses and a community to a large list, coaching is a small add-on, and you need room for up to 100,000 contacts on one plan.
3. Thinkific: a course-first choice for structured job-search curricula

Thinkific is a course platform with communities, memberships, and coaching and webinar products. For a career coach, it fits best when the curriculum is the product: a self-paced job-search course, a cohort bootcamp with live sessions, or a membership with a monthly interview clinic.
Where Thinkific suits job-search curricula
The Start plan lists up to 10,000 current students, two admins, one community with 10 spaces, five live community events and a maximum group size of 50. That shape suits a monthly cohort: one community, a few live Q&A events, and a group small enough for real feedback on resumes. Grow raises that to three communities, six admins and a group size of 100. Thinkific charges no transaction fee when you use Thinkific Payments, whose rate it describes as in line with other processors at 2.9%.
Plans and fees as listed
As listed in October 2026, Start is $109/mo ($82/mo annually), Grow is $219/mo ($164/mo annually), Expand is $499/mo ($374/mo annually), and Plus is custom. Prices rose about 10% on August 13, 2026 (Start went from $99 to $109, Grow from $199 to $219). Every self-serve plan has a 30-day free trial. If you use a third-party Stripe or PayPal gateway instead of Thinkific Payments, an extra per-plan gateway fee applies; the page does not list the amounts. The branded mobile app is a $199/mo add-on.

Trade-offs to know before you build
Thinkific does not include built-in 1:1 scheduling; coaching calls rely on external booking links, according to our older profile of the tool. There are no client habits, daily check-ins or per-client plans, so the "ten applications this week" side of a search lives elsewhere. Public reviewers are mixed: Thinkific showed 1.8 from 868 reviews on Trustpilot when we checked on October 25, 2026. If you add a scheduler, an e-signature tool and the app add-on, the monthly bill climbs well past the plan price.
Pick it over Coachful if your business is mainly a structured curriculum sold to cohorts of up to 50 or 100 people, you already run 1:1 calls in a separate scheduler you are happy with, and you want a dedicated course tool with large student limits.
4. LearnWorlds: for career coaches selling to institutions

LearnWorlds is a course and learning-management platform with a website builder, funnels, SCORM support and interactive video. It earns its place on a career coach list for one reason: some career coaches sell training to organizations rather than individuals, such as university career services, outplacement providers or employers running redeployment programs, and those buyers sometimes ask for content they can load into their own learning systems.
Selling to career centers and outplacement buyers
SCORM is the standard many corporate learning systems use to import courses, and LearnWorlds supports it (Pro Trainer lists 20 SCORM packages). The Learning Center plan lists 25 admins and up to 10 client groups, which may suit a setup where three organizations each license your "Career Transition Essentials" course for their people (check how LearnWorlds defines a client group before you sign a deal). Interactive video is available for interview-practice lessons. Pro Trainer also lists 15 page funnels and 2,000 mass emails a month for your own marketing.
The LearnWorlds price ladder
As listed in October 2026, Starter is $29/mo ($24/mo annually) with one admin, 1,000 active learners a month and 300 AI credits, and it charges $5 per paid enrollment. Pro Trainer is $99/mo ($79/mo annually) with five admins, 2,000 active learners a month and no LearnWorlds transaction fee. Learning Center is $299/mo ($249/mo annually), and Corporate is custom. Stripe or PayPal gateway fees of 2.9% + $0.30 apply on top. The 30-day trial needs no card, according to LearnWorlds, but a school not upgraded is scheduled for deletion, so export anything you build. The pricing page screenshot shows euro prices.
What it leaves out
LearnWorlds is not built for 1:1 client management, habits or check-ins. Active-learner caps of 1,000 or 2,000 a month on self-serve plans matter if an institutional deal brings a large intake at once. The branded mobile app is a separately priced add-on. On Trustpilot, LearnWorlds showed 4.8 from 423 reviews when we checked on October 25, 2026, the highest rating among the dedicated course tools here.
Pick it over Coachful if a meaningful share of your income comes from licensing courses to career centers or employers that require SCORM files or separate client groups, and individual coaching is a smaller line of business.
5. Podia: the simplest storefront for career templates and a mini course

Podia is a simple storefront for courses, downloads, webinars, coaching sessions and community. A career coach who mostly sells a resume template pack, a cover-letter kit, a short LinkedIn mini course and the occasional paid call will find it quick to set up and easy for buyers.
A storefront for templates, kits and paid calls
Downloads and courses sit side by side, and coaching sessions are a product type, so a buyer can purchase a "resume review call" the same way they buy a template. The Mover plan includes 50 products, 500 videos and 25 community spaces; Shaker raises that to 150 products, 1,000 videos and 100 spaces and adds one assistant. The 14-day trial gives full access with no card or plan selection, which makes it easy to test your storefront before you commit.
Podia's plans in October 2026
As listed in October 2026, Mover is $49/mo ($42/mo annually), Shaker is $99/mo ($84/mo annually) and Earthquaker is $179/mo ($150/mo annually) with unlimited products, videos, spaces and assistants. Mover takes a 5% Podia transaction fee; Shaker and Earthquaker take none. Stripe or PayPal processing, typically 2.9% + 30¢, applies on top.

Limits that bite as the list grows
Email allowances are small: 100 subscribers included on Mover, 500 on Shaker and 1,000 on Earthquaker. A well-shared resume checklist can pass 100 sign-ups quickly, so check the cost of extra subscribers before launching a lead magnet. Our older profile notes no mobile app and no native video calls, so coaching sessions happen on Zoom or similar. There are no client habits, check-ins or per-client plans. On Trustpilot, Podia showed 4.1 from 153 reviews when we checked on October 25, 2026.
Pick it over Coachful if you mainly sell digital career templates and one short course, you take only a handful of paid calls a month, and the simplest possible storefront matters more to you than client delivery tools.
How do the five compare feature by feature?
The clearest split is between platforms that manage a client and platforms that manage a student. Only Coachful documents habits and check-ins and built-in calendar-synced booking; the other four lead with courses and storefronts.
| Platform | Courses | 1:1 booking | Habits and check-ins | Community | Email marketing | Mobile app | Platform transaction fee |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Modules, drip, completion tracking, quizzes in templates | Yes, with two-way calendar sync and video links | Yes | Feed, group chat, auto cohort groups | Sequences with branching and A/B splits | Client app with your branding | 0% |
| Kajabi | Yes | Not listed in our notes | No | 1 on Basic and Growth, 3 on Pro | Yes, 2,500 contacts on Basic | Not listed in our notes | 0.5% to 2% extra with non-Kajabi processors |
| Thinkific | Yes | No, external links | No | 1 on Start, 3 on Grow | Not listed in our notes | Branded app, $199/mo add-on | 0% with Thinkific Payments |
| LearnWorlds | Yes, plus SCORM and interactive video | Not built for 1:1 | No | Not listed in our notes | 2,000 mass emails/mo on Pro Trainer | Branded app, paid add-on | $5 per paid enrollment on Starter; 0% above |
| Podia | Yes, plus downloads | Coaching sessions as products; no native video | No | 25 spaces on Mover | 100 to 1,000 subscribers included | No | 5% on Mover; 0% above |
What does each stack cost: all-in-one or assembled?
An all-in-one stack costs one plan; an assembled stack costs a course platform plus whatever it lacks, usually a scheduler, an e-signature tool and an accountability app. We have not priced those extra tools today, so the assembled totals below are the course platform's listed price plus a gap you would need to fill.
Four stack recipes for a career coach
| Core tool | Recipe | Add-ons needed | Monthly software cost as listed | Still missing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | All-in-one, 15 active clients | None for booking, agreements, courses, programs, community, site or email | Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients | PayPal; a course marketplace |
| Thinkific | Course-first: Thinkific Start plus Systeme.io Startup for funnels and email | Scheduler, e-signature tool, check-in app | $109 + $17 = $126/mo, plus unpriced add-ons | Habits, check-ins, built-in booking |
| Kajabi | Audience-first: Kajabi Growth | Scheduler, e-signature tool, check-in app | $249/mo, plus unpriced add-ons | Per-client plans and check-ins |
| Podia | Budget: Podia Shaker plus Stan Store Creator for link-in-bio sales and paid calls | E-signature tool, check-in app | $99 + $29 = $128/mo | Contracts, client records, check-ins |
Systeme.io's Startup plan is listed at $17/mo with 5,000 contacts and 10 funnels, and Stan Store's Creator plan at $29/mo ($25/mo annually) with a 0% Stan fee, both as listed in October 2026. Each extra login is also one more place a client can get lost in the middle of a job search.
Cost at 5, 15 and 40 clients
Course platforms price by product and contact limits rather than coaching clients, so the plan rarely changes between 5 and 40 clients. What changes is per-sale fees. The LearnWorlds and Podia figures below are examples that assume one $300 paid enrollment per client in the month (an illustrative price, not a rate recommendation; see what career coaches charge for sourced rates).
| Platform | 5 clients | 15 clients | 40 clients | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients | Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients | Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients | 0% platform fee; Stripe or Razorpay processing only; booking and agreements included |
| Kajabi | $179/mo (Basic) | $179/mo (Basic) | $179/mo (Basic) | Five-product cap may force Growth at $249/mo; scheduler not included |
| Thinkific | $109/mo (Start) | $109/mo (Start) | $109/mo (Start) | Group size cap of 50 on Start; scheduler not included |
| LearnWorlds | $29 + $25 = $54/mo (Starter, example) | $99/mo (Pro Trainer) | $99/mo (Pro Trainer) | Starter's $5 per enrollment passes Pro Trainer's price at 14 enrollments a month |
| Podia | $49 + $75 = $124/mo (Mover, example) | $99/mo (Shaker) | $99/mo (Shaker) | Shaker's 0% fee beats Mover's 5% once sales pass about $1,000 a month |
How would a career coach set this up in Coachful, step by step?
Here is an illustrative setup for a coach helping mid-career professionals move into product management with a 12-week program built around a six-module course. The program name, modules and targets are examples; swap in your own.

- Request the build. From Create, choose "We'll build it for you · FREE" and ask for a five-page website and an application funnel. Attach your LinkedIn profile link, your logo, a headshot and any existing resume guide as a PDF. The team builds it in your account, usually within about 24 hours, and leaves gaps where they need your real credentials.
- Set up the lead magnet. Use a lead-magnet funnel for a "Product Manager Resume Checklist" download, with a five-email sequence that branches: people who click the booking link stop getting nurture emails and get a call reminder instead. Add your LinkedIn or Meta pixel and UTM tags to every link.
- Build the fit-call booking page. A 30-minute call with intake questions (current role, target role, target date, biggest blocker), a 15-minute buffer, 24 hours of minimum notice and time-zone detection. Connect Google or Outlook calendar and let it create Zoom or Meet links. Turn on SMS and WhatsApp reminders once messaging is enabled.
- Create the offer and agreement. Sell "Pivot to Product in 12 Weeks" through Stripe with a three-part payment plan, and add an order bump for an extra LinkedIn profile session sold as a session credit. Attach an agreement that states scope, the no-guarantee-of-offer line, cancellation terms and the referral line for legal questions; clients e-sign before the first call.
- Build the course. Start from one of the 48 course templates and shape six modules: Positioning, Resume, LinkedIn, Networking, Interviews, Negotiation. Drip one module a week, attach resume and cover-letter templates as downloads, and track completion.
- Turn the course into a program. Wrap the course in a 12-week program with weekly goals (for example ten tailored applications and five networking messages), a daily habit of one outreach message, and morning and evening check-ins. A cohort group is created automatically when clients enroll.
- Use the AI help between calls. Ask Michelle for a brief before each session so you walk in knowing which applications went out and how check-ins went. If you set up the AI Coach for selected clients, they can chat with it between sessions, for example to rehearse an interview answer before you review it together.
- Plan the alumni stage. Watch client status for anyone moving to quiet or at risk during a slow stretch. When a client signs an offer, move them into a "first 90 days" program and the alumni community, and log the hours toward your ICF credential.

For more on getting the cohort side right, see cohort course design for coaches, and for the booking side, scheduling software for career coaches.
How do you move a career course business to a new platform without losing clients?
Move in the gap between cohorts, export everything first, and keep the old platform running until every active client has finished or moved. Career clients are often mid-search and stressed, so a broken login in week six costs more trust than it would in a hobby course.
- Export before you cancel. Pull student lists, completion data, email subscribers and any community posts you want to keep. LearnWorlds schedules a trial school for deletion if it is not upgraded, and Kajabi charges on the trial's last day if you entered a card, so note those dates.
- Re-upload video from your originals. Do not count on getting video files back in bulk from any platform; keep your own master files and re-upload them. On Coachful, clients, programs and content are imported for you during onboarding.
- Handle recurring payments deliberately. Subscriptions and payment plans are tied to a processor account. Check with your payment provider how existing plans can move, and tell clients before any card is asked for again.
- Redirect old URLs. Your resume checklist link is probably in dozens of LinkedIn posts. Point the old domain or pages at the new ones so those posts keep working.
- Announce it once, clearly. One email with the new login link, what is changing and what stays the same, then a reminder a week later.
- Keep an exit route for later. Whatever you choose, confirm you can export client data and courses. Coachful exports the full client record as a ZIP and exports courses.
What mistakes do career coaches make when choosing a course platform?
The most common mistake is choosing on video hosting alone and discovering later that booking, agreements and accountability all need separate tools. A few others:
- Ignoring per-sale fees. Podia Mover's 5%, LearnWorlds Starter's $5 per enrollment and Kajabi's extra 0.5% to 2% with outside processors add up on a $1,500 package.
- Hitting contact caps mid-launch. Kajabi Basic stops at 2,500 contacts and Podia Mover includes 100 email subscribers; a good lead magnet can burn through either.
- Promising outcomes in sales copy. "Guaranteed job offer" language creates refund disputes. Put realistic scope in the agreement and on the sales page.
- Skipping the between-session layer. Job searches stall quietly. Without check-ins or status flags, you find out on the next call that nothing happened for two weeks.
- Forgetting alumni. Placed clients come back for promotions and refer colleagues. Plan a home for them before your first cohort ends.
Which course platform should a career coach pick?
Pick Coachful if you sell a course and coach the people taking it, which describes most career coaches. It is the only one of the five that covers attract, enroll, deliver and retain in one login, with booking, e-signed agreements, weekly goals and check-ins built in and no platform transaction fee, plus a free white-glove build to get the site and funnel live quickly. Pick Kajabi if you are mainly a course and community business with a large audience. Pick Thinkific for a dedicated curriculum sold to cohorts, LearnWorlds if institutions license your training, and Podia if you mostly sell templates and a mini course. Frequently asked questions
What is the best course platform for career coaches?
For career coaches who combine a course with 1:1 or group coaching, Coachful is our pick because it handles the course, booking, payments, agreements and between-session check-ins in one branded client app. If you only sell courses to a large audience, Kajabi or Thinkific may suit you better. We make Coachful, so compare the stage-by-tool table above against your own workflow.
Do career coaches need a course platform at all?
Not always. If you only do 1:1 sessions, a coaching platform with booking and payments may be enough. A course becomes useful once you repeat the same teaching (resume structure, LinkedIn, interview frameworks) with every client and want to free session time for personal work.
Can I sell coaching sessions and a course in the same checkout?
On Coachful you can, through payment plans, bundles, order bumps and session credits on your own Stripe or Razorpay account. Podia sells coaching sessions as a product next to courses. Thinkific relies on external booking links for 1:1 calls, according to our older profile.
Which platform is cheapest for a new career coach?
Among the dedicated course tools, LearnWorlds Starter is listed at $29/mo but adds $5 per paid enrollment, and Podia Mover at $49/mo adds a 5% fee. Compare the total with the add-ons you would still need, such as a scheduler and e-signature tool, using the cost table above.
What is Coachful's free white-glove service?
On every plan, you can ask the Coachful team to build a website, funnel, sales page, program, course outline, email sequence, form or other asset inside your account, usually within about 24 hours. You describe it and attach up to 8 links and 10 files. It does not include recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing.
Can I track ICF coaching hours on a course platform?
Coachful counts coaching hours and distinct clients against ACC, PCC and MCC thresholds and exports an ICF client coaching log. The dedicated course platforms in this list do not document ICF hour tracking, so you would keep a spreadsheet. Our guide to platforms for ICF coaches covers this in more depth.
Do I need SCORM as a career coach?
Only if you license courses to organizations that load them into their own learning systems, such as some university career centers or outplacement providers. Most career coaches selling to individuals do not need it. If you do, LearnWorlds lists SCORM packages on its Pro Trainer plan.
Can clients use a mobile app for my career course?
Coachful's client app carries your branding inside the Coachful app, with no extra add-on. Thinkific's branded app is a $199/mo add-on and LearnWorlds's is separately priced. Our older profile of Podia notes no mobile app.
Should my coaching agreement mention job outcomes?
Yes, to set expectations: state that you coach the search and do not guarantee an offer, and that legal questions about contracts, non-competes or severance go to an employment attorney. Rules on contracts vary by country and state, so check with an attorney for your jurisdiction.
