7 Best Membership Platforms for Career Coaches (2026 Guide)

The best membership platforms for career coaches do two jobs at once: they run a structured job-search program with deadlines, accountability and 1:1 calls, and they keep a paying alumni group or resume course going after the client lands the role. Most platforms handle only the second job. So the deciding question is simple: do you sell content to an audience, or do you move individual clients from "stuck" to "offer signed"?
For career coaches who coach people through a search, our pick is Coachful, because it puts booking, payment, the job-search program, weekly check-ins, the alumni community and the courses behind one login and one branded client app. We make Coachful, so weigh that, and read the "Pick it over Coachful if..." line under every other tool. The six alternatives below each win a specific scenario, and the quick picks table tells you which one is yours.

What do career coaches need from a membership platform?
Career coaches need a membership platform that follows a client's search week by week, not just a content library. A career client arrives with a deadline (a layoff, a visa clock, a promotion cycle, a graduation date) and leaves when they accept an offer. That makes the client journey shorter and more milestone-driven than in life or wellness coaching.
Here is what that means in practice:
- A milestone program, not a feed. A typical job-search program moves through clarity (target roles and companies), materials (resume, LinkedIn profile, portfolio), outreach (networking messages, applications), interviews and negotiation. Each stage needs tasks with due dates and a place for the client to report what they did.
- Weekly accountability. The number that predicts results in a search is activity: applications sent, networking conversations held, interviews booked. A weekly check-in that asks for those numbers is worth more than another video lesson.
- Document exchange. Resume drafts, cover letters and interview prep notes go back and forth. You want them stored on the client record, not lost in email threads.
- Mixed formats. Many career coaches sell a self-paced resume or LinkedIn course, a group interview-prep cohort and premium 1:1 packages. The platform should sell all three and let one client hold more than one.
- An alumni or "career circle" membership. After the offer, a low-priced monthly membership keeps people for the first 90 days in the new role, the next promotion or the next search. That is the recurring revenue most career practices are missing.
- Corporate and outplacement work. Some coaches are paid by an employer to support laid-off staff. That needs manual invoices to the company and clean records of who attended what.
Scope matters too. Career coaching is not career counseling in the licensed sense, and it is not recruiting. In the US, school and career counselors are a distinct occupation described by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and many states license counselors; career counseling can include assessment and therapy-adjacent work. A coach should not promise a job, should not give legal advice on contracts, non-competes, severance or visas, and should refer clients to an employment or immigration attorney when those questions come up. If a client's job loss has turned into depression or anxiety they cannot manage, refer them to a licensed mental health professional. Your platform should make it easy to write that scope into your agreement before the first call.

Which membership platform fits your situation? (Quick picks)
Coachful is the best overall pick for career coaches who deliver programs to individual clients; the other six each win a narrower situation.
Ranking criteria: one login for the whole client journey (inquiry to offer to alumni), between-session delivery such as weekly job-search check-ins, total monthly stack cost, and setup effort, including Coachful's free white-glove build.

|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | #1 | Best overall: job-search programs, 1:1 and group calls, alumni membership and courses in one branded app | Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients |
| Kajabi | #2 | Career coaches with a large audience selling a flagship course and a membership | $179/month ($143/month billed annually) |
| Circle | #3 | A large paid job-seeker or professional community with events | $89/month billed annually |
| Mighty Networks | #4 | Cohort-based career programs inside a member app | $95/month ($79/month billed annually) |

How did we choose these membership platforms?
We picked platforms that can run a paid membership and that career coaches realistically consider, then ranked them by how much of a career client's journey each one covers without extra tools. We did not test these products hands-on for this article. The facts come from each vendor's published pricing and help pages and from public review sites, and every price is dated.
We weighed four things:
- Whole-journey coverage. Can a prospect book a discovery call, sign an agreement, pay, start a program, report weekly and later join an alumni group, all in one place?
- Between-session delivery. Does the platform support per-client tasks, check-ins and goals, or only content and posts?
- Total stack cost. The subscription plus the booking, contract, email and payment tools you would still need, plus platform fees on sales.
- Setup effort. How long it takes a solo coach to go from signup to a live offer, and whether anyone will build it for you.
We left out dedicated 1:1 coaching back offices without a real membership layer, and we left out Skool because it has no custom-domain website, funnels or email automation, and its Hobby plan charges 10% plus 30 cents per transaction, which hurts a coach selling higher-priced packages.
1. Coachful: best overall for career coaches who coach individuals through a search
Coachful wins when your membership is really a coaching relationship: clients pay for a job-search program with calls and accountability, and some stay on in an alumni circle afterward. It is a coaching platform where one subscription covers booking, payments, contracts, program delivery with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant. The coach has one login; the client gets one branded app.

Here is how that maps onto a career practice.
From discovery call to signed agreement. A prospect books a free strategy call from your booking page, which handles availability rules, buffers, minimum notice and time-zone detection (useful when you coach expats or people relocating). Intake questions on the booking form can ask for target role, current salary band and search deadline. Coachful syncs both ways with Google, Apple/iCloud and Outlook calendars and creates Zoom, Google Meet or Teams links automatically, or you use the built-in video. Before the first paid call, the client signs a coaching agreement with e-signature, stored on their record. That is the right place for your scope line: no job guarantee, no legal advice, referral for legal or mental health questions. Our coaching contracts page covers how that works.

The job-search program itself. Coachful runs multi-week programs with weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars and streaks. A six-week search sprint can give the client "send five tailored applications" and "two networking conversations" as weekly goals, a daily "30 minutes of outreach" habit, and an evening check-in that asks what they sent today. The client sees all of it in your branded app; you see it on their record.

One record per client. The client record holds goals, check-ins, habits, notes, intake answers, tags, payments and sessions, plus an AI briefing before each call. Clients are marked thriving, active, quiet or at risk. For a job seeker, "quiet" usually means discouraged after a rejection, and that is exactly when a short message from you matters.

Courses, cohorts and the alumni membership. Courses come with modules, lessons, drip and completion tracking, and sit in the client's branded home next to downloads such as resume templates or interview question banks. You can bundle a course with a program. The community includes a feed, group chat, direct messages and video events, and cohort groups are created automatically when someone enrolls in a program, so your spring interview-prep cohort gets its own space without manual setup. Subscriptions run through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account, which is how a monthly alumni membership is billed. Coachful charges a 0% platform fee (since August 2026); you pay only Stripe or Razorpay processing. Payment plans help when a recently laid-off client cannot pay a premium package up front. For outplacement deals, you can send manual invoices alongside the per-transaction invoices.
Getting clients in. The section-based website builder includes a blog, custom domain, SEO settings, 30 designed homepage templates and an Import website option. Booking, application, lead-magnet and checkout funnels support pixels and UTM tracking, so a free "LinkedIn headline checklist" can feed an email sequence that ends at a discovery call. Email lists, broadcasts and multi-step sequences with triggers, delays, branching and A/B splits are included in your Coachful membership. The social planner schedules posts to LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X, Threads and YouTube from one calendar, which matters because LinkedIn is where most career coaches find clients.
Michelle and the AI Coach. Michelle, the built-in AI assistant, works from your live practice data: she can draft a program, write emails, summarize recorded sessions and brief you before a call. If you are pursuing an ICF credential, she can give optional private feedback on your own coaching against ICF Core Competencies 3 to 8. Separately, the AI Coach is an AI version of you that selected clients can chat with between sessions, for example to rehearse an answer to "tell me about yourself" at 11 pm before an interview. Questions and planning with Michelle are included in the membership; confirmed builds and changes use AI credits.
ICF hours. Many career coaches hold or are working toward an ICF credential. Coachful counts coaching hours and distinct clients against ACC, PCC and MCC thresholds and exports an ICF client coaching log with paid and pro bono hours. See ICF hour tracking.

This short walkthrough shows how a program is built and delivered in Coachful:
Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. On every plan, you can open Create, choose "We'll build it for you · FREE", describe what you want, attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files (logo, photos, your current resume-review offer, a brand guide), and the Coachful team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours. For a career coach, that can be the website, a discovery-call funnel, the job-search program, a resume course outline and written material, an email sequence or the alumni membership sales page. Nothing gets invented: no fake credentials, testimonials or prices; gaps are left for you to fill. It does not include recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing. One recent build: a leadership coach with a Squarespace renewal days away got one clean homepage with a repeated "talk with me" button. Read more about the free white-glove service.
What Coachful does not do. It is not HIPAA-certified and is not for clinical records or insurance billing. There is no PayPal, no permanent free plan and no Salesforce or HubSpot integration, which matters if you sell outplacement to employers that expect a CRM sync. There are no routing forms that pick a host from form answers. It is not a course marketplace, so it will not bring you buyers the way a marketplace might. The client app ships under the Coachful listing with your branding, not your own App Store account. The affiliate program tracks links, clicks, conversions and revenue, but payouts to affiliates (for example, recruiters who refer clients) are recorded manually.
Price: flat monthly plans; lower plans cap the number of clients, Pro is unlimited, and team plans add coach seats (Current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients). Monthly plans cancel in one click, and there is a free trial. See also the Coachful page for career coaches.
2. Kajabi: the audience-first pick for a flagship career course
If you already have tens of thousands of LinkedIn followers or a newsletter and want to sell a flagship "land the job" course plus a membership to that audience, Kajabi is the strongest content-business option here. It combines courses, a community, a website, funnels and email in one product.

For a career coach, Kajabi suits a model where most revenue comes from many people buying a recorded course on resumes, LinkedIn and interviews, with a monthly community upsell and occasional group calls. The funnel and email tools handle a webinar-to-course launch well.
Where it falls short for coaching individuals: Kajabi has no habit tracking or daily client check-ins, and coaching is organized as products and communities rather than per-client plans. You cannot give one job seeker their own weekly targets and see whether they hit them without workarounds. Booking and contracts are typically handled by other tools.
Price as listed in October 2026: Basic $179/month ($143/month billed annually) with 5 products, 2,500 contacts, 1 community, 1 website, 2 admin users and 0 AI credits. Growth is $249/month ($199/month annually) with 50 products, 25,000 contacts and 500 AI credits. Pro is $499/month ($399/month annually). Kajabi Payments in the US costs 2.9% + $0.30 on Basic, 2.8% + $0.30 on Growth and 2.7% + $0.30 on Pro. Using another processor (not PayPal) adds a Kajabi fee of 2% on Basic, 1% on Growth or 0.5% on Pro. The standard trial is 14 days. Kajabi shows 3.4 on Trustpilot from 2,347 reviews (seen October 25, 2026).
Watch out for: the 2,500-contact cap on Basic fills quickly once a free resume checklist starts working on LinkedIn, and the 5-product cap counts your course, membership and each coaching offer.
Pick it over Coachful if your business is mainly a high-volume course and content brand, your audience is already large, and you rarely track individual clients week to week.
3. Circle: for a large paid professional community
Circle is the choice when the membership is the product: a paid community of mid-career professionals, career changers into tech, or new managers, with spaces, events, live streams and courses. Its spaces make it easy to separate "job leads", "interview wins" and "salary questions" into tidy channels.

For a career coach with hundreds of members, Circle's moderation tools and events are its strengths. You can run a weekly live "resume teardown" and record it into a course.
The gaps are on the coaching side. Circle has no 1:1 scheduling or client management back office, and no per-client habits, check-ins or coaching plans. Branded mobile apps come only on the custom-priced Circle Plus plan.
Price as listed in October 2026: Professional from $89/month billed annually (3 admins, 10 moderators, 2,500 AI credits a month), Business $199/month billed annually, Scale $419/month billed annually, and Circle Plus at a custom price. Monthly prices were not listed in our packet data, so we quote only the annual figures. Circle takes a fee on payments of 2% on Professional, 1% on Business and Scale, and 0.5% on Circle Plus, plus Stripe processing. There is a 14-day free trial without a credit card. Trustpilot shows 4.1 from 129 reviews (seen October 25, 2026).
The career-coach catch: on a $49/month alumni membership with 100 members, the 2% Professional fee is about $98 a month before Stripe takes its cut (an illustrative calculation).
Pick it over Coachful if you run a community-first business with hundreds of members, 1:1 coaching is a small side offer, and you are happy to add separate booking and contract tools.
We compare more options in the best community platforms for career coaches.
4. Mighty Networks: cohort programs inside a member app
Mighty Networks fits career coaches whose main offer is a cohort, such as a 10-week "pivot into product management" program or a quarterly group for laid-off tech workers, delivered through a member app with courses, events and livestreams.

Live events and livestreaming are built in (20 hours a month for up to 100 attendees on Launch), which covers weekly group interview-prep sessions without a separate webinar tool. Members get Mighty-branded apps.
For individual coaching, the picture changes. Mighty Networks has no 1:1 scheduling, invoicing or contracts, and no per-client habits, check-ins or private coaching plans. Your own branded app is available only on the custom-priced Mighty Pro.
Price as listed in October 2026: Launch $95/month ($79/month billed annually) with 3 hosts, 10 moderators and 200 GB of storage; Scale $215/month ($179/month annually); Growth $354/month billed annually; Mighty Pro on request. A platform fee applies to sales: 2% on Launch, 1% on Scale and 0.5% on Growth and Mighty Pro, plus Stripe processing. The free trial is 14 days without a credit card and includes Growth plan features. Trustpilot shows 3.3 from 219 reviews (seen October 25, 2026).
Pick it over Coachful if every client you serve comes through a group cohort, you never sell private packages, and a Mighty-branded member app is acceptable.
For cohort-heavy practices, also read the best group coaching platforms for career coaches.
5. Thinkific: when a certificate course is the core offer
Thinkific makes sense if you sell structured courses at scale, for example a resume-writing course licensed to a university career center or a bootcamp's alumni, and want communities and memberships around them. It is a course platform first, with communities, memberships and coaching or webinar products added.

The Start plan supports 10,000 current students, 2 admins, 1 community with 10 spaces and 5 live community events, which is plenty for a career coach selling an evergreen interview course. Thinkific Payments carries no extra Thinkific transaction fee, at a rate the company describes as in line with other processors at 2.9%.
For 1:1 work it is thinner. Thinkific has had no built-in 1:1 scheduling (based on older profile data, coaching relied on external booking links), and there are no client habits, daily check-ins or per-client plans. A branded mobile app is a $199/month add-on.
Price as listed in October 2026: Start $109/month ($82/month billed annually), Grow $219/month ($164/month annually), Expand $499/month ($374/month annually), and Plus at a custom price. Prices rose about 10% on August 13, 2026. Third-party Stripe or PayPal gateways carry an extra per-plan gateway fee whose amounts are not listed on the page. There is a 30-day free trial on every self-serve plan. Trustpilot shows 1.8 from 868 reviews (seen October 25, 2026).
Pick it over Coachful if you sell courses in volume, possibly to institutions, and coaching individuals is not part of your model.
More course-first options are in the top course platforms for career coaches.
6. Podia: a simple storefront for templates and a mini-course
Podia is the easy-going choice for a part-time career coach who wants to sell resume templates, a mini-course on LinkedIn profiles, a webinar recording and a small community without learning a complex tool. It is a simple storefront for courses, downloads, webinars, coaching sessions and community.

Setup is quick and the interface is gentle. A Mover plan holds 50 products and 25 community spaces, more than most early career practices need.
The limits show as soon as the practice grows. Email subscriber allowances are small (100 on Mover, 500 on Shaker, 1,000 on Earthquaker included), and a career coach's lead magnet can pass 100 subscribers in the first week. Older profile data notes no mobile app and no native video calls. There are no client habits, check-ins or per-client plans.
Price as listed in October 2026: Mover $49/month ($42/month billed annually) with a 5% Podia transaction fee; Shaker $99/month ($84/month annually) and Earthquaker $179/month ($150/month annually) with 0% Podia fee. Stripe or PayPal processing (2.9% + 30 cents standard) applies on top. The free trial is 14 days with full access and no card. Trustpilot shows 4.1 from 153 reviews (seen October 25, 2026).
Pick it over Coachful if you sell mostly digital products, coach only occasionally, and want the simplest possible storefront with PayPal available.
7. Stan Store: the LinkedIn link-in-bio shop
Stan Store wins one scenario: a career coach who is mainly a LinkedIn or Instagram creator, selling a resume template pack, a short course and a paid 30-minute "resume roast" call from a link in bio. It is a link-in-bio storefront for digital products, courses, memberships and paid calls.

Stan Store charges 0% on sales ("keep 100% of every sale"), with standard Stripe or PayPal processing, and it has the strongest public rating in this list: 4.7 on Trustpilot from 2,205 reviews (seen October 25, 2026).
It is not a coaching back office. There are no contracts, invoices or client records, and it is not a CRM. There are no programs with client tasks, habits or check-ins, and no team seats are advertised. Email marketing, upsells, discount codes and affiliates are available only on Creator Pro.
Price as listed in October 2026: Creator $29/month ($25/month billed annually) and Creator Pro $99/month ($79/month annually). There is a 14-day free trial on either plan, and the first month is charged when the trial ends; the card requirement is not stated explicitly.
Pick it over Coachful if nearly all your revenue is small digital products sold from social posts, and you have no plans for structured programs or ongoing 1:1 clients.
If social media is your main source of clients, also see platforms to get clients for career coaches.
How do the seven platforms compare feature by feature?
Only Coachful covers booking, contracts, per-client check-ins and an alumni community in one product; the others cover content and community well and leave the coaching layer to other tools.
| Platform | 1:1 booking | Contracts with e-signature | Per-client tasks and check-ins | Courses | Community | Email sequences | Platform fee on sales |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Yes, with two-way calendar sync | Yes | Yes: goals, habits, daily and weekly check-ins | Yes, with drip | Yes, with automatic cohort groups | Yes, with branching and A/B splits | 0% (processing only) |
| Kajabi | Not native per our data | No | No | Yes | Yes | Yes | No extra fee on Kajabi Payments; 0.5% to 2% with other processors |
| Circle | No | No | No | Yes | Yes, core strength | Not covered in our data | 0.5% to 2% |

| Stan Store | Sells paid calls | No | No | Yes | Memberships | Creator Pro only | 0% |
"Not covered in our data" means our vendor notes do not state it either way; check the vendor's own feature page.

What does each platform cost at 5, 15 and 40 clients?
Most membership platforms charge the same whether you have 5 clients or 40, while Coachful's lower plans are capped by client count and Pro is unlimited. Here are the listed monthly prices for the cheapest plan that fits each size.
| Platform | 5 clients | 15 clients | 40 clients | Still needed for 1:1 coaching |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients | Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients | Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients | Nothing extra for booking, contracts, check-ins or email |
| Kajabi | $179 (Basic) | $179 (Basic) | $179 (Basic) | Booking, contracts, client tracking |
| Circle | $89 (Professional, annual) | $89 | $89 | Booking, contracts, client tracking, likely email |
| Mighty Networks | $95 (Launch) | $95 | $95 | Booking, contracts, invoicing, client tracking |
| Thinkific | $109 (Start) | $109 | $109 | Booking, contracts, client tracking |
| Podia | $49 (Mover, plus 5% fee) | $49 or $99 (Shaker, 0% fee) | $99 (Shaker) | Contracts, client tracking, more email capacity |
| Stan Store | $29 (Creator) | $99 (Creator Pro for email) | $99 | Contracts, invoices, client records, programs |
Prices are monthly as listed in October 2026, before payment processing and platform fees. The extra tools in the last column have their own costs, which vary by vendor.
What do three example career-coaching stacks cost per month?
The real comparison is the whole stack, and an all-in-one stack usually wins once you add the booking, contract and email tools that membership platforms leave out. These are illustrative stacks built from the listed prices above; we do not price the third-party booking and e-signature tools because they vary.
| Stack | Who it suits | Tools | Listed monthly cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | A career coach with 15 active job-search clients and an alumni circle | Coachful only: booking, agreements, program, check-ins, courses, community, website, email | Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients, plus Stripe processing |
| Creator stack | A LinkedIn creator selling templates and a paid community | Stan Store Creator Pro ($99) + Circle Professional ($89, annual) | $188 + a booking tool + an e-signature tool + 2% Circle fee on community sales |
| Course-business stack | A coach with a big audience selling a flagship course | Kajabi Growth ($249) + a scheduling tool + an e-signature tool | $249 + those two tools; per-client check-ins still missing |
The creator and course-business stacks also mean two or three logins for your clients, and the weekly job-search accountability still happens by email or spreadsheet.
How does a career coach set up a membership in Coachful, step by step?
A career coach can launch a job-search program and an alumni membership in Coachful in about seven steps, or hand most of it to the free white-glove build service. Here is an example practice: a coach who helps mid-career professionals change industries, selling a 6-week "Search Sprint" program with weekly calls and a monthly "Career Circle" alumni membership.
- Ask for the build. Open Create and choose "We'll build it for you · FREE". Describe the website (home, About, Work With Me, Results), attach your logo, headshot and current offer document, and request a discovery-call funnel. The team builds it in your account; you fill in any gaps they leave, such as real client results.
- Set up the discovery call. Create a free 30-minute session type with a buffer, minimum notice and intake questions: target role, industry, search deadline, biggest obstacle. Connect Google, Apple or Outlook calendar and pick built-in video, Zoom, Meet or Teams.
- Write the agreement. Add a coaching agreement with e-signature that states what you do and do not do: you coach on strategy, materials and interviews; you do not guarantee employment and you do not give legal advice on employment contracts, severance or immigration. It goes out before the first paid call.
- Build the Search Sprint program. Six weeks: target roles, resume and LinkedIn, networking, applications, interviews, negotiation. Give each week a goal ("10 networking messages sent"), daily tasks, an outreach habit and an evening check-in asking how many applications and conversations happened today. Michelle can draft the first version from your notes.
- Add the course and downloads. Upload your resume template, cover letter framework and interview question bank as downloads, and build a short drip course for the materials stage. The 48 course templates with quizzes can give you a starting structure.
- Create the offers. The Search Sprint as a one-time payment or a payment plan through Stripe Connect or Razorpay; the Career Circle as a monthly subscription that gives access to the community, monthly group calls and the course library. When someone enrolls in the Sprint, Coachful creates a cohort group for them automatically.
- Turn on email. Write a sequence for leads who download your free LinkedIn checklist, and another for Sprint graduates that invites them into the Career Circle around their last session.

Once clients are moving, watch the statuses on your dashboard. A client who drops from active to quiet in week four usually needs a short call about a rejection, not more content.

What mistakes do career coaches make when choosing a membership platform?
The most common mistake is buying a course or community tool for what is really a coaching business. Others follow from it:
- Selling access instead of outcomes. A job seeker pays for progress toward an offer. A library of videos with no weekly check-in rarely delivers that, and churn follows.
- Ignoring platform fees. A 2% fee looks small until your alumni membership and group program revenue grows. Add it to the monthly cost before comparing.
- Skipping the agreement. Without a signed scope, a client who does not land a job within the program may expect a refund or more sessions. Put your no-guarantee and referral language in writing.
- Underestimating email. Career coaches build lists fast with checklists and resume templates. Small subscriber caps can force an upgrade or a separate email tool. See email marketing platforms for career coaches.
- Forgetting the after-offer stage. The first 90 days in a new role and the next promotion are natural reasons to stay. Plan the alumni membership from day one.
- Collecting payments in too many places. Outplacement invoices in one tool, packages in another and memberships in a third make tax time harder. Our guide to payment platforms for career coaches covers this in more detail.
Which membership platform should a career coach choose?
Choose Coachful if you coach people through a job search and want the program, the calls, the weekly accountability and the alumni membership in one place. Choose Kajabi for a big-audience course brand, Circle for a large paid community, Mighty Networks for cohort-only programs, Thinkific for course volume, Podia for a simple product shop, and Stan Store for link-in-bio sales from LinkedIn.
Coachful is a coaching platform for coaches who deliver programs, not only sessions, including solo career coaches and small teams replacing four to six tools. It does not offer PayPal, a permanent free plan, HIPAA certification or a CRM integration with Salesforce or HubSpot. To start, take the free trial and request the free white-glove build so your website, funnel and first program are ready to review. If you run webinars to fill your programs, see webinar platforms for career coaches, and for the broader software picture, our coaching software page and group coaching software page.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best membership platform for career coaches?
For career coaches who work with individual clients through a search, Coachful is our pick because it combines booking, agreements, job-search programs with check-ins, courses and an alumni community in one branded app. If you only sell content to a large audience, Kajabi or Circle may suit you better. We make Coachful, so compare the "Pick it over Coachful if" notes above.
Can I run a monthly alumni membership and 1:1 packages on the same platform?
Yes, on Coachful you can sell a subscription for the alumni community alongside one-time or payment-plan packages, all through your own Stripe or Razorpay account. On most community platforms you would sell the membership there and handle 1:1 booking and contracts with other tools.
Is Coachful's white-glove build service really free?
Yes. On every plan you can request a website, funnel, program, course outline and written material, email sequence or other build from Create, and the Coachful team builds it in your account, usually within about 24 hours. It does not include recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing, and nothing such as testimonials or credentials is invented.
Which platform has the lowest fees on membership sales?
Coachful and Stan Store charge no platform fee on sales; you pay only payment processing. Circle and Mighty Networks charge 0.5% to 2% depending on plan, Podia charges 5% on its Mover plan, and Kajabi adds 0.5% to 2% when you use a processor other than Kajabi Payments or PayPal, as listed in October 2026.
Do career coaches need a contract with each client?
It is wise. An agreement sets your scope (no job guarantee, no legal advice on employment contracts, severance or visas), your refund policy and session rules. Laws vary by state and country, so have a local attorney review your template. Coachful sends agreements for e-signature before the first call.
Can I bill an employer for outplacement coaching?
In Coachful you can create manual invoices in addition to the invoice issued for each transaction, which suits a company paying for several employees. Coachful does not integrate with Salesforce or HubSpot, so if the employer requires a CRM sync, check that first.
Do I need a mobile app for a career coaching membership?
It helps, because job seekers check in from their phones between interviews. Coachful's client app carries your branding inside the Coachful app. Circle and Mighty Networks offer your own branded app only on custom-priced plans, and Thinkific's branded app is a paid add-on.
Can a membership platform track my ICF coaching hours?
Coachful counts coaching hours and distinct clients against ACC, PCC and MCC thresholds and exports an ICF client coaching log with paid and pro bono hours. The other platforms in this list are not built for it, so you would keep a separate log.
What should a career coach do when a client needs legal or mental health help?
Refer out. Questions about severance terms, non-competes or visas belong with an employment or immigration attorney, and persistent depression or anxiety after a job loss belongs with a licensed mental health professional. Write that referral process into your agreement.
Is Skool a good membership platform for career coaches?
Skool combines a community, classroom and calendar, but it has no custom-domain website, funnels, email automation or 1:1 client records, and payments run only through Skool Payments with per-transaction fees on both plans (10% plus 30 cents on Hobby, as listed in October 2026). That is why it is not in our top seven for career coaches.
