12 Best Membership Platforms for Wellness Coaches, Compared

The best membership platforms for wellness coaches do more than host videos behind a paywall. A wellness membership lives or dies between the live calls: whether members drink the water, take the evening walk, log the wind-down routine and come back to the group on a bad week. So the deciding question is simple. Does the platform give each member a daily routine to follow and give you a way to see who is slipping, or does it only give you a place to post content?
Our pick is Coachful, because it puts the membership, the habits and check-ins, the community, the courses, payments and 1:1 bookings behind one login for you and one branded app for your members. We make Coachful, so weigh that, and read the eleven other options below: several are excellent at one piece of the job, and the right choice depends on whether your membership is mostly content, mostly community or mostly guided behaviour change.
Every vendor price below is as listed on that vendor's pricing page in October 2026. For the broader category, see our parent guide to the best membership platforms for coaches, and for the whole software stack, the best software for wellness coaches.
What do wellness coaches need from a membership platform?
Wellness coaches need a membership platform that delivers small daily actions, collects short check-ins, keeps a supportive group together and makes recurring billing painless. Content hosting matters, but it is the easiest part to find.
Most wellness memberships follow a recognisable shape. A member joins for a monthly fee, gets a theme for the month (sleep, stress, movement, eating rhythm, energy), receives a handful of habits to practise, answers a quick morning or evening check-in, joins one or two live group calls and dips into a library of guided sessions and short lessons. Some coaches add a higher tier with a monthly 1:1 call. That shape creates specific software demands:
- Habits and check-ins per member. A sleep reset only works if each member can tick off "screens off by 22:00" and rate how rested they feel. A video library cannot do that.
- A way to spot quiet members. Wellness memberships churn when people fall behind and feel guilty. You need to see who stopped checking in before they cancel.
- Community and live sessions. Group breathwork, a monthly Q&A, a 21-day challenge thread. Peer support is often the reason members stay.
- Recurring payments with flexibility. Monthly and annual options, founding-member coupons, payment plans for a premium tier, and a clean way to pause. Our guide on fair membership pause rules covers the policy side.
- Tiers. Community-only, community plus program, and program plus 1:1 is a common ladder. See how to structure a multi-tier coaching membership.
- Booking for the premium tier. If any tier includes 1:1 time, booking, reminders and video links belong in the same place as the membership.
- A clear scope boundary. Members will tell you about insomnia, gut problems, medication and low mood. Your platform should let you send a coaching agreement that states your scope before the first session.
The scope line. Wellness coaching supports behaviour change; it is not medical, nutritional or mental-health treatment. Refer a member to a physician, a registered dietitian or a licensed therapist when they describe symptoms that need diagnosis, signs of disordered eating, questions about medication, or low mood or anxiety that goes beyond everyday stress. If you are unsure where the line sits, our explainer on what health and wellness coaching is and the comparison of wellness coach vs health coach help. None of the general-purpose tools below is built for clinical record-keeping, and Coachful is not HIPAA-certified, so do not use any of them as a medical record.
Which membership platforms for wellness coaches are on the shortlist?
The quick answer: Coachful for guided wellness memberships with daily habits, then Kajabi, Mighty Networks and Circle for content and community, with Practice Better and Paperbell as practice-admin alternatives further down.
Ranking criteria: one login for the whole member journey, between-session delivery (habits, check-ins, programs), total stack cost at 15 members, and setup effort, including a free white-glove build where one exists.

How did we choose and rank these tools?
We started from the work a wellness coach does each week and asked which platforms cover it with the fewest extra subscriptions. We did not run hands-on trials of every tool; the comparison draws on what each vendor documents on its pricing and help pages, checked in October 2026, and on public Trustpilot ratings seen on the same day.
Four questions decided the order:
- Can a member follow a daily routine inside the platform? Habits, check-ins and multi-week programs carry the most weight, because that is what separates a wellness membership from a content subscription.
- How many tools does the full member journey need? Sales page, checkout, onboarding, agreement, community, live calls, 1:1 booking for a premium tier, and email. Each missing piece means another login and another bill.
- What does it really cost at 5, 15 and 40 members? Subscription plus platform fees on your sales, not just the headline price.
- How long until the membership is live? Templates, migration help and done-for-you setup shorten that, which matters for a solo coach.
Practice-admin tools that compete most directly with Coachful (Practice Better and Paperbell) sit in the middle of the list.
1. Coachful: the whole wellness membership in one branded app
Coachful is the strongest fit when your membership is built around guided daily change rather than a content vault. It is a coaching platform where one subscription covers booking, payments, coaching agreements, programs with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant. You work from one login; your members use one app carrying your branding.

For a wellness membership, the program builder does the heavy lifting. You can build multi-week programs with weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars and streaks. A "Sleep Reset" month might set three habits (screens off, a ten-minute wind-down, a morning light walk), a 30-second evening check-in on energy and mood, and a weekly goal to protect a consistent bedtime. Members see their streaks; you see completion.

The coach side is where retention is won. Each client record holds goals, check-ins, habits, notes, intake answers, tags, payments and sessions, plus a status of thriving, active, quiet or at risk. Michelle, the built-in AI assistant, works from that live practice data: she can brief you before a session, draft the week's email to members, build a program draft, and summarize recorded sessions. Questions and planning are included in your Coachful membership; confirmed builds and changes use AI credits. If you want members to have support between calls, the AI Coach lets selected clients chat with an AI version of you that you configure.

Community is built in rather than bolted on. There is a community feed, group chat, direct messages and video events, and cohort groups are created automatically when someone enrols in a program, so a January reset group forms on its own. Group calls and webinars run from the same place, and courses (modules, lessons, drip, completion tracking), downloads, videos and bundles are delivered into the member's branded home and app.

Selling the membership happens through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account: subscriptions, one-time payments, payment plans, order bumps, coupons, refunds, Apple Pay and Google Pay, and Stripe Tax. Coachful has charged a 0% platform fee since August 2026, so you pay only Stripe or Razorpay processing. Coaching agreements with e-signature go out before the first call and are stored on the client record, which is where your scope statement belongs. For a premium tier, booking pages handle availability rules, buffers, time zones, two-way Google, Apple and Outlook calendar sync, built-in video or auto-created Zoom, Meet or Teams links, and session credits.

If your wellness work leans into movement or food, the Fitness & Nutrition pack adds a workout builder with an illustrated exercise library, nutrition targets up to calories and macros, meal plans, recipes, food lookup with barcode scanning, private progress photos and weekly check-ins. You attach your own demo videos. The website builder, funnels and email sequences cover the marketing side; our guide to a wellness coach website that books shows what to put on it.
Here is a short walkthrough of how programs are built in Coachful:
Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. On every plan, you can open Create, choose "We'll build it for you", and describe what you want: a website, a membership sales page, a funnel, a program, a course outline, an email sequence, a lead quiz or something else. You attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files (logo, photos, brand guide, copy), and the Coachful team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours. Nothing gets invented: no fake credentials, testimonials or prices, and gaps are left for you to fill. One recent example: a menopause and midlife health coach starting from nothing received a five-page site in sage and cream with every button leading to a free 20-minute consultation. The service does not record videos, design logos or run ads. Read more about the free white-glove service.

What Coachful does not do. It is not HIPAA-certified and offers no BAA, so it is not for clinical record-keeping or insurance billing. It does not take PayPal. There is no Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop or Oura sync, Apple Health sync is not publicly available, and there are no stock exercise videos. The client app ships under the Coachful listing with your branding, not under your own App Store account. There is no permanent free plan.
In short: Coachful is a coaching platform for wellness coaches who deliver programs, not just sessions, and for solo coaches replacing four to six tools or growing into a small team. Plans are flat monthly, lower plans cap the number of clients, Pro is unlimited, and monthly plans cancel in one click (current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients). To start, take the free trial and request the white-glove build of your membership page; clients, programs and content are imported for you during onboarding. Coachful holds a Trustpilot rating of 4.5 from 21 reviews. More detail lives on the Coachful page for health and wellness coaches.
2. Kajabi: a polished home for content-led wellness memberships
Kajabi suits a wellness coach whose membership is mostly a library: guided meditations, recipe videos, a monthly masterclass, a community feed. It combines courses, community, a website, funnels and email in one product aimed at people selling knowledge products.

As listed in October 2026, Kajabi's plans are:
- Basic: $179/month, or $143/month billed annually. 5 products, 2,500 contacts, 1 community, 1 website, 2 admin users, 0 AI credits.
- Growth: $249/month, or $199/month annually. 50 products, 25,000 contacts, 11 admin users, 500 AI credits.
- Pro: $499/month, or $399/month annually. Unlimited products, 100,000 contacts, 3 communities, 3 websites, 26 admin users, 1,000 AI credits.
The standard trial is 14 days. A card is optional, but if you enter one Kajabi places an authorization hold and charges when the trial ends, and some features such as bulk contact import, test emails and some automations stay locked until a paid plan is active. With Kajabi Payments in the US, processing is 2.9% + $0.30 on Basic, 2.8% + $0.30 on Growth and 2.7% + $0.30 on Pro. Using another processor (other than PayPal) adds a Kajabi fee of 2%, 1% or 0.5% depending on plan. Kajabi's Trustpilot rating was 3.4 from 2,347 reviews when we looked.
The limits matter for wellness work. Kajabi has no habit tracking and no daily client check-ins; coaching is delivered as products and communities rather than per-member plans. A member can watch the sleep module, but there is no built-in place for them to log tonight's wind-down routine or for you to see who has gone quiet. The Basic plan's five-product cap also fills quickly once you count a membership, a 21-day reset, a meditation library and a starter course separately. For a wider view of Kajabi among course tools, see our course platforms for wellness coaches comparison.
Pick it over Coachful if your membership is primarily a content and marketing machine for a large audience, you want Kajabi's mature funnel and email tooling, and per-member habits and check-ins are not part of what you sell.
3. Mighty Networks: when the group is the product
Mighty Networks is built around community, courses and live events, which makes it a natural fit for wellness coaches whose members join mainly for the group: a morning breathwork circle, a weekly livestreamed stretch-and-chat, a peer accountability feed. Members use Mighty-branded apps.

October 2026 list prices:
- Launch: $95/month or $79/month annually; 3 hosts, 10 moderators, 200 GB storage, 20 hours of livestreaming a month for up to 100 attendees.
- Scale: $215/month or $179/month annually; 5 hosts, 15 moderators, 500 GB, 30 livestream hours for up to 200 attendees.
- Growth: $354/month billed annually (monthly price not captured in our data); 10 hosts, 100 moderators, 1 TB, 40 livestream hours for up to 1,000 attendees.
- Mighty Pro: custom pricing, unlimited hosts and moderators.
Mighty adds its own platform fee on sales: 2% on Launch, 1% on Scale and 0.5% on Growth and Mighty Pro, plus Stripe processing. The 14-day trial needs no credit card and includes Growth plan features. Trustpilot showed 3.3 from 219 reviews.
The livestream allowances are the standout for wellness coaches running group practice sessions. The gaps are on the individual side. Mighty has no 1:1 scheduling, invoicing or contracts, and no per-client habits, check-ins or private coaching plans. A coach running a premium tier with monthly 1:1 calls would add a booking tool and a contract tool, and would still be tracking each member's progress outside the platform. Your own branded apps arrive only on the custom-priced Mighty Pro plan. If you are weighing community-first tools generally, our roundup of group coaching platforms goes deeper.
Pick it over Coachful if live group sessions and member-to-member conversation are the entire offer, you have no 1:1 tier, and members are comfortable in a Mighty-branded app.
4. Circle: a calm, well-organised community space
Circle is a community platform with courses, events, live streams and paid memberships. Wellness coaches who want a tidy, discussion-first space (separate spaces for sleep, stress and movement, with threads that stay readable) tend to like how it organises conversation.

Circle's pricing page in October 2026 showed annual-billing prices:
- Professional: $89/month billed annually; 3 admins, 10 moderators, 2,500 AI credits a month.
- Business: $199/month billed annually; 5 admins, 15 moderators.
- Scale: $419/month billed annually; 10 admins, 100 moderators, 5,000 AI credits a month.
- Circle Plus: custom pricing, with branded mobile apps.
Monthly-billing prices were not captured in our data, so check the page before committing. Circle takes 2% of payments on Professional, 1% on Business and Scale and 0.5% on Circle Plus, on top of Stripe processing. There is a 14-day free trial on Professional, Business and Scale with no card required. Circle's Trustpilot rating stood at 4.1 from 129 reviews.
What Circle does not cover is the individual member journey. There is no 1:1 scheduling or client management back office, and no per-client habits, check-ins or coaching plans. In practice a wellness coach on Circle runs the community there, takes bookings in a scheduling app, sends agreements from a document tool and tracks habits in a spreadsheet or a separate app. That is workable for a pure community membership, but each extra tool adds a cost line and a login members have to remember. Our page on Coachful's community platform for coaches shows the alternative of keeping community and coaching together.
Pick it over Coachful if you want a dedicated community with moderators, your membership has no per-member program, and you are happy to handle 1:1 work in separate tools.
5. Podia: a straightforward storefront with room for a small group
Podia is a simple storefront for courses, downloads, webinars, coaching sessions and community. It appeals to wellness coaches who sell a few clear products (a seven-day stress course, a printable meal-rhythm planner, a monthly membership) and want to avoid a complicated setup.

As listed in October 2026:
- Mover: $49/month ($42/month annually). 50 products, 500 videos, 25 community spaces, 100 email subscribers included. Podia takes 5% of sales.
- Shaker: $99/month ($84/month annually). 150 products, 1,000 videos, 100 spaces, 500 email subscribers, 1 assistant. 0% Podia fee.
- Earthquaker: $179/month ($150/month annually). Unlimited products, videos, spaces and assistants; 1,000 email subscribers. 0% Podia fee.
Stripe or PayPal processing (2.9% + 30¢ standard) applies on top. The 14-day trial gives full access without a card or a plan choice. Podia's Trustpilot score was 4.1 from 153 reviews.
For a wellness membership, the email allowances are the first constraint: 100, 500 or 1,000 subscribers included is small if you run a free challenge to grow your list. Our older profile notes no mobile app and no native video calls, so members reach content through a browser and live sessions run on another tool. There are no client habits, check-ins or per-client plans, which means your daily practices live in PDFs or emails rather than a tracker. The Mover plan's 5% fee also grows with the membership.
Pick it over Coachful if you mainly sell a handful of digital wellness products with a light community attached, you prefer the simplest possible storefront, and you do not need to see each member's daily progress.
6. Practice Better: practitioner tooling for nutrition-adjacent wellness work
Practice Better is practice management for wellness and nutrition practitioners: scheduling, telehealth video, charting, billing, programs and a client portal. Among the tools here it sits closest to clinical-style practice, which suits wellness coaches who work alongside nutrition professionals or keep structured session notes.

October 2026 pricing:
- Sprout: free for 3 clients, 1 practitioner, 100 MB.
- Starter: $35/month ($25/month annually). 10 clients; scheduling, telehealth, billing and payments, secure messaging, client portal, forms and note templates.
- Professional: $69/month ($59/month annually, though the page's savings badge implies a slightly different figure). 300 clients; group scheduling and messaging, fixed-date programs, deposits and payment plans, Zapier.
- Plus: $99/month ($89/month annually). Unlimited clients; evergreen and self-paced programs, portal branding, a personalized URL, 750 SMS a month.
- Team: $155/month ($145/month annually) for 2 practitioners, with extra practitioners at $50 each.
Add-ons include an AI charting assistant at $10, $20 or $40 per practitioner a month. Trials run 14 days on paid plans (30 on Team), and Practice Better Payments is powered by Stripe with no separate platform fee stated. Trustpilot showed 3.8 from 87 reviews.
For a membership specifically, the plan you need is higher than the client count suggests: evergreen self-paced programs, the kind a rolling monthly membership runs on, and portal branding start on Plus. Our older profile notes no website builder or funnel pages, so the sales page and lead capture live elsewhere. Community features are group messaging rather than a full feed. The white-label portal comparison for health and wellness coaches covers the portal side in more detail.
Pick it over Coachful if your work leans toward practitioner-style care with charting and notes, you collaborate with nutrition professionals in the same system, and you already have a website and marketing stack you are happy with.
7. Paperbell: one flat price for recurring 1:1 packages
Paperbell is all-in-one admin for solo coaches: booking, packages, payments, contracts, a client portal and a simple website. Wellness coaches whose "membership" is really a recurring 1:1 arrangement (two calls a month plus messaging) will find it fits that model neatly.

Pricing, as listed in October 2026, is a single plan at $97/month or $970 a year, covering unlimited clients, sessions, files, packages and traffic. The plan includes a coaching website, scheduling, payments and packages, client portal, contracts, email workflows, forms, group coaching, video call integration, notes, digital downloads, online classes and custom branding. Paperbell states "no additional transaction fees" beyond Stripe or PayPal processing and offers a 30-day money-back guarantee. The pricing page does not state the trial length; Paperbell's help center in July 2026 described a 7-day trial with the public site offline. Trustpilot listed 3.5 from 14 reviews.
The trade-off for wellness memberships is depth of delivery. Our older profile notes no courses or LMS, no community, and no goal or habit tracking, and no native mobile app (members use a mobile browser). The pricing page now lists online classes and digital downloads, which helps with a small library, but a member still has nowhere to log habits or answer daily check-ins, and there is no group feed for peer support. A group membership with a monthly challenge would need a separate community tool.
The flat price is honest and easy to plan around, and our older profile lists PayPal alongside Stripe, which some wellness clients prefer. For more on selling packages, see our guide to the best platforms to sell coaching packages.
Pick it over Coachful if your offer is mostly 1:1 sessions sold as recurring packages, you want PayPal at checkout, and you have no plans for a community, courses or habit tracking.
8. Kartra: marketing automation for launch-driven wellness memberships
Kartra is an all-in-one marketing suite: pages, funnels, email and SMS, memberships, calendars and a helpdesk. It makes the most sense for a wellness coach who sells through launches, such as a free five-day calm challenge feeding into a membership, and wants deep automation around the list.
The October 2026 list prices:
- Essentials: $59/month ($52/month annually). 500 contacts, 5 pages, 1 product, 1 membership or course, 10,000 emails a month, 30 AI uses; 5% transaction fee.
- Starter: $119/month ($99/month annually). 2,500 contacts, unlimited pages, products and memberships, unlimited email and SMS, video hosting, calendars, 5 team members; 0% fee.
- Growth: $229/month ($189/month annually). 12,500 contacts, automations, affiliates, surveys and quizzes, helpdesk.
- Professional: $549/month ($429/month annually). 25,000 contacts, real-time funnel analytics.
Kartra's page states that exceeding the lead limit upgrades you automatically, with a mid-cycle reconciliation fee, and that there are no add-ons to buy more capacity. That is worth knowing if a free challenge suddenly pulls in 600 sign-ups on Essentials. There is a 14-day trial and a 30-day money-back guarantee. Trustpilot showed 3.2 from 129 reviews.
For delivery, Kartra has no client habits, check-ins or per-client coaching plans, and our older profile notes no mobile app for members. The membership area hosts content, but it does not track whether a member followed this week's practice. Our older profile also notes that funnels and memberships are not portable, so leaving means rebuilding. If you want to compare marketing-led setups, the coaching platforms to get clients roundup is a useful companion.
Pick it over Coachful if your growth depends on complex launch funnels and SMS sequences, you run a large list, and the membership itself is a content area rather than a guided program.
9. Teachable: a course library members can carry in an app
Teachable is a course and digital-product platform with iOS and Android student apps. A wellness coach whose membership is a growing set of courses (a gut-friendly cooking series, a beginner mobility course, a stress-skills course) can bundle those into a library members access on their phones.
Teachable's October 2026 pricing page lists:
- Starter: $39/month ($29/month annually). 5 products, 1 admin, AI creation tools, student apps; 7.5% transaction fee.
- Builder: $89/month ($69/month annually). 10 products; 0% transaction fee, affiliate program.
- Growth: $189/month ($139/month annually). 50 products, 5 admins, certificates, Teachable branding removed.
- Custom: contact sales.
Teachable Payments processing is 2.9% + 30¢ on US cards and 3.9% + 30¢ internationally, with a $15 chargeback fee. Plan cards offer a 7-day free trial plus a 30-day guarantee, and a pop-up offered a 30-day trial on Builder monthly when the page was checked. Trustpilot listed 3.3 from 1,110 reviews.
The student apps on the entry plan are a genuine plus for wellness content people consume on a walk or before bed. The weak spots are the same as most course platforms: no client habits, daily check-ins or per-client plans, and, per our older profile, no native scheduling or calendar sync, so live calls depend on outside booking and video tools. The Starter plan's 7.5% fee is the highest percentage on this list after Skool's Hobby plan, so a growing membership should move to Builder quickly. The Coachful course platform page explains how courses sit next to programs instead.
Pick it over Coachful if your membership is a pure course library, you want student mobile apps without a custom-priced plan, and you do not need habits, check-ins or 1:1 bookings in the same place.
10. Thinkific: built for big course catalogues
Thinkific is a course platform with communities, memberships and coaching or webinar products. It scales to large student numbers, which suits a wellness coach planning a broad catalogue sold well beyond their own client base.

As listed in October 2026 (prices rose about 10% on August 13, 2026):
- Start: $109/month ($82/month annually). 10,000 current students, 2 admins, 1 community with 10 spaces, 5 live community events, 200 GB a month of video bandwidth, group size up to 50.
- Grow: $219/month ($164/month annually). 6 admins, 3 communities, 400 GB a month, group size 100.
- Expand: $499/month ($374/month annually). 15 admins, 10 communities, 1,000 GB a month, unlimited group size.
- Plus: custom.
Thinkific charges no transaction fee when you use Thinkific Payments, which it describes as in line with other processors at 2.9%. Third-party Stripe or PayPal gateways carry an extra per-plan gateway fee that the page does not quantify. Every self-serve plan has a 30-day free trial. A branded mobile app is a $199/month add-on. Trustpilot showed 1.8 from 868 reviews, the lowest score on this list after Skool.
For wellness coaches, the Start plan's five live community events is a practical cap if you run weekly group sessions. Our older profile notes no built-in 1:1 scheduling, with coaching relying on external booking links. There are no client habits, daily check-ins or per-client plans. So a monthly membership would combine Thinkific for content with separate tools for booking and for tracking each member's practice.
Pick it over Coachful if you are building a large, structured course catalogue for thousands of students, need multiple communities and admins, and your coaching is a small add-on to the course business.
11. Stan Store: fast sales from your social profile
Stan Store is a link-in-bio storefront for digital products, courses, memberships and paid calls. Wellness coaches who grow on short-form video and want to sell a low-priced membership from their profile link in an afternoon often start here.

October 2026 pricing:
- Creator: $29/month ($25/month annually). Unlimited products and customers; one store.
- Creator Pro: $99/month ($79/month annually). Adds email marketing, upsells, discount codes and affiliates.
Stan charges no fee of its own ("keep 100% of every sale"); standard Stripe or PayPal processing applies. Both plans have a 14-day free trial, and the first month is charged when it ends. Stan Store's Trustpilot rating was 4.7 from 2,205 reviews, the highest of the third-party tools here.
The ceiling for wellness memberships arrives quickly. Email marketing, discount codes and upsells sit on the $99 plan, so a founding-member coupon or a welcome sequence means upgrading. There are no contracts, invoices or client records, Stan is not a CRM, and there are no programs with client tasks, habits or check-ins. No team seats are advertised. That makes Stan an effective checkout and delivery point for a simple content membership, but not a place to run guided behaviour change or see who is struggling.
Pick it over Coachful if your audience lives on social media, your membership is a low-priced content subscription, and selling from a bio link matters more than tracking member progress.
12. Skool: leaderboards and a classroom in one group
Skool puts a community, a classroom and a calendar into one group, with gamified leaderboards that reward participation. For wellness coaches, the points-and-levels mechanic can energise a group challenge where members post daily wins.

As listed in October 2026:
- Hobby: $9/month ($7.50/month annually). Unlimited members, courses, videos and live calls; 10% + 30¢ on all transactions.
- Pro: $99/month ($82.50/month annually). Same unlimited allowances; 2.9% + 30¢ up to $899 and 3.9% + 30¢ above $900, as the pricing page lists it.
Fees are non-refundable, payouts arrive weekly on Wednesdays in local currency, and payments run only through Skool Payments. The pricing page offers "Try for free" but does not state the trial length or card requirement. Trustpilot showed 1.6 from 54 reviews.
Skool's simplicity is the appeal and the limit. There is no custom-domain website, no funnels, no email automation and no public API. There are no 1:1 client records, intake forms, habits or check-ins, so a member's progress shows only as posts and points. On Hobby, the 10% fee is the largest cut of revenue on this list once a membership grows; the cost table below shows how much. Our guide to membership models for coaches helps decide whether a community-only model fits your offer at all.
Pick it over Coachful if a gamified, community-only group is exactly what you want to run, you do not need a website or email automation, and you accept Skool Payments as the only checkout.

What does each platform cost at 5, 15 and 40 members?
For most tools the subscription barely changes between 5 and 40 members; the real difference is the percentage taken from your sales and which plan includes the features a membership needs. Figures are monthly list prices as of October 2026, before payment processing.
| Platform | 5 members | 15 members | 40 members | What to watch |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients | Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients | Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients | 0% platform fee; one subscription covers community, programs, booking, website and email |
| Kajabi | $179 (Basic) | $179 | $179 | 5-product cap on Basic; 2% extra with non-Kajabi processors |
| Mighty Networks | $95 (Launch) | $95 | $95 | 2% platform fee; add booking and contracts separately |
| Circle | $89 (Professional, annual) | $89 | $89 | 2% platform fee; monthly-billing price not captured |
| Podia | $49 (Mover) | $49 or $99 (Shaker) | $99 (Shaker) | 5% fee on Mover; small email allowances |
| Practice Better | $35 (Starter, 10 clients) | $69 (Professional) | $69 | Evergreen programs and branding need Plus at $99 |
| Paperbell | $97 | $97 | $97 | Flat; no community or habit tracking |
| Kartra | $59 (Essentials) | $59 | $59 or $119 (Starter) | 5% fee and 1 membership on Essentials |
| Teachable | $39 (Starter) | $39 or $89 (Builder) | $89 | 7.5% fee on Starter |
| Thinkific | $109 (Start) | $109 | $109 | Branded app is a $199/month add-on |
| Stan Store | $29 (Creator) | $99 (Creator Pro for email) | $99 | Email, coupons and upsells only on Creator Pro |
| Skool | $9 (Hobby) | $9 or $99 (Pro) | $99 | 10% + 30¢ per transaction on Hobby |
Percentage fees change the picture. Take an example membership at $50 a month (an illustrative figure, not a recommended price). At 15 members that is $750 a month in sales. Skool's Hobby fee would take $75 plus $4.50 in per-transaction charges, Teachable's Starter fee $56.25, Podia's Mover and Kartra's Essentials fees $37.50 each, and Mighty Networks Launch or Circle Professional $15, all before card processing. At 40 members ($2,000 a month), Skool Hobby's cut rises to $212 and Teachable Starter's to $150, which is why the cheap entry plans stop being cheap. Coachful charges no platform fee on these sales, so the comparison there is the subscription plus Stripe processing. The same logic applies when you add the separate booking, contract and habit-tracking tools that community-only platforms need; our payment platforms for coaches guide covers processing costs in more depth.
To price the membership itself, work backwards: decide what each tier includes, estimate the hours a month it takes you, set an hourly figure you can sustain, and divide by realistic member numbers. Then test the price with a founding-member coupon before raising it.
How do you set up a wellness membership in Coachful?
A typical setup takes one rolling program, one community, one recurring offer and a short welcome sequence. Here is how an example "Steady Energy Club" membership comes together, step by step.
- Request the sales page and site. Open Create and choose "We'll build it for you". Describe the membership, attach your logo, photos and two or three reference sites you like, and say who it is for. Or start from a wellness homepage template such as Sanctuary and edit the sections yourself.
- Connect payments. Link your Stripe Connect or Razorpay account. Create a monthly subscription offer and an annual option, add a founding-member coupon, and, if you have a premium tier with 1:1 calls, a separate offer that includes session credits.
- Build the rolling program. Start from one of the 40-plus program templates or ask Michelle to draft one. Set four weekly themes (sleep, hydration and meals, movement, stress), two or three habits per theme, and a morning and evening check-in that takes under a minute.
- Add the library. Create a short course with drip release for the core lessons, then add downloads (a wind-down checklist, a weekly planner) and any videos you record. These appear in the member's branded home.
- Open the community. Cohort groups are created automatically on enrolment, so each intake gets its own space. Schedule a monthly live Q&A as a video event and a weekly group call.
- Send the agreement. Write a coaching agreement that states your scope: coaching, not medical, nutritional or mental-health treatment, with a line about when you will suggest they see a professional. Members e-sign it at enrolment and it is stored on their record.
- Write the welcome sequence. Set a multi-step email sequence triggered by enrolment: day 0 welcome and how to use the app, day 2 first habit, day 7 check-in on how week one went. Michelle can draft each email for you to edit.
- Review member status weekly. Filter the client list for quiet or at-risk members and send a short personal message before they drift. This is the single habit that does most for retention.

If you are moving from another platform, read how to switch coaching platforms without disrupting clients first; in Coachful, clients, programs and content are imported for you during onboarding. Coaches who run small-group intakes alongside the membership can also look at the group coaching software features.
What mistakes should wellness coaches avoid when choosing a membership platform?
The most common mistake is choosing a content or community tool and then discovering the membership needed daily structure all along. A few others come up again and again:
- Selling a library when members want a routine. Wellness members rarely lack information; they lack consistency. If the platform cannot show a habit tracker and a check-in, members drift and cancel quietly.
- Ignoring percentage fees. A 5% to 10% cut on a small membership looks trivial in month one and becomes your biggest software cost by month twelve.
- Stacking five tools for one member journey. Community in one app, bookings in another, agreements in a third, habits in a spreadsheet. Every handoff is a place members get lost and a bill you pay.
- Collecting clinical information. Do not ask for diagnoses, medication lists or lab results in intake forms on general coaching platforms. If your work needs a medical record, it belongs with a licensed provider using clinical software.
- Skipping the scope statement. Put it in the agreement and on the sales page, and repeat it in the welcome email.
- No pause or downgrade path. Life events hit wellness members hard. A pause option or a community-only tier keeps people who would otherwise cancel.
- Overbuilding before launch. Thirty recorded videos nobody watches cost more than a four-week program you refine with your first ten members.
- Forgetting data portability. Check what you can export before you commit. Several tools above export contact lists but not posts or course progress.
Which membership platform should a wellness coach choose?
Choose Coachful if your membership is guided behaviour change: daily habits, check-ins, a supportive group, a course library and an optional 1:1 tier, all in one branded app, with no platform fee on your sales and a free white-glove build to get the sales page live. It also labels each member as thriving, active, quiet or at risk, so you can reach out before someone cancels.
Choose Kajabi, Teachable or Thinkific if the membership is primarily a content library sold to a large audience. Choose Mighty Networks, Circle or Skool if the community itself is the product and you have no individual program. Practice Better suits practitioner-style work with charting, and Paperbell suits recurring 1:1 packages at one flat price. Kartra is for launch-heavy marketing, and Podia and Stan Store are for selling a few simple products quickly.
For most wellness coaches with fewer than a hundred members and a mix of group and 1:1 work, the one-login approach saves the most money and the most evenings. For neighbouring niches, see the membership platforms for health coaches and the white-label client portals for wellness coaches guides.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best membership platform for wellness coaches?
Coachful is our pick for wellness coaches whose members need a daily routine, because it combines habits, check-ins, community, courses, booking and payments in one branded app. If your membership is purely a content library or a community with no individual program, Kajabi, Mighty Networks or Circle are reasonable alternatives.
Is Coachful HIPAA compliant?
No. Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and does not sign a BAA, so it is not suitable for clinical records or insurance billing. It is built for coaching, and it is GDPR-ready with a full client data export.
What does Coachful's free white-glove build include?
On every plan, the Coachful team will build a website, sales page, funnel, program, course outline, email sequence, form or similar inside your account, usually within about 24 hours. You describe it and attach up to 8 links and 10 files. It does not include recording videos, logo design, ads or ongoing marketing, and nothing is invented: gaps are left for you.
Can I run a community-only tier and a coaching tier on the same platform?
Yes, in Coachful you can sell separate offers, one giving access to the community and library and another adding a program with habits, check-ins and 1:1 session credits. Community-first tools such as Circle or Skool handle the first tier well but need other tools for the second.
Do platform transaction fees matter for a small wellness membership?
They matter more than they first appear. A 10% fee on a membership earning $2,000 a month is $200 every month, which can exceed the cost of a higher plan with no fee. Compare the subscription and the fee together at the member count you expect in a year.
Can members track habits and check in from their phones?
In Coachful, members use the Coachful app carrying your branding to see their habits, complete check-ins and join the community. Most course and community tools on this list do not offer per-member habit tracking at all, so members would use a separate app.
Does Coachful sync with Apple Health, Fitbit or Oura?
No. Coachful has no Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop or Oura sync, and Apple Health sync is not publicly available. Members log habits and check-ins directly, which for most wellness memberships is the point: the act of checking in is part of the habit.
Is there a free plan?
Coachful has no permanent free plan, but it does offer a free trial. Among the other tools, Practice Better has a free Sprout plan for 3 clients, and Skool's Hobby plan is $9 a month with a 10% transaction fee.
Can I move my existing members from Kajabi or Mighty Networks?
Yes. In Coachful, clients, programs and content are imported for you during onboarding. Check what your current platform lets you export first: several tools export member lists but not posts or course progress, so plan to announce the move and re-invite members to the new community.
Where does wellness coaching stop and treatment begin?
Coaching helps people build habits and make changes they choose; it does not diagnose or treat conditions. Refer members to a physician, registered dietitian or licensed therapist when they describe symptoms, disordered eating, medication questions or persistent low mood, and write that boundary into your coaching agreement.
