Healthie vs Simply Coach: Which Fits Your Practice in 2026?

Healthie vs Simply Coach comes down to one question: are you running a clinical practice or a coaching practice? Healthie is practice management and telehealth software built for dietitians, nutrition and wellness providers, with a HIPAA business associate agreement that takes effect when you create the account. Simply.Coach is a coaching practice platform for contracts, programs, sessions and booking pages, with client and program caps on every solo plan below its top tier. If you bill insurance or keep clinical charts, Healthie is the better of the two. If you coach clients through goals and sessions and never touch a diagnosis, Simply.Coach fits better, but only once you can afford the plan that removes its caps.
There is also a third option that many coaches in this comparison end up choosing, and we will be upfront about it: we make Coachful, a coaching platform that puts booking, payments, contracts, programs with habits and check-ins, courses, community, a website and email behind one login. We rank it first for coaches who deliver programs between sessions, and we say plainly where Healthie or Simply.Coach is the better pick. Vendor facts below are as listed on each company's own pages in October 2026.
What is the short answer by use case?
Pick by what your work actually involves, not by the longest feature list. Here is the verdict for the most common situations we see from coaches comparing these two tools.
- You are a registered dietitian or licensed provider who charts, bills insurance or prescribes: Healthie. It offers ClaimMD insurance claims and DoseSpot e-prescribing as add-ons, plus charting and a BAA. Neither Simply.Coach nor Coachful is built for that.
- You are a health, wellness or nutrition coach (not clinical) who runs multi-week programs: Coachful. Habits, daily tasks, morning and evening check-ins and a branded client app do the work between sessions that neither Healthie nor Simply.Coach is centred on.
- You are a life, executive or business coach with a handful of 1:1 clients: Coachful first, Simply.Coach second. Simply.Coach covers contracts, programs and booking, but its Starter and Essentials plans cap you at 3 and 7 coachees.
- You run a coaching firm with sponsors, program managers and coach matching: Simply.Coach's business tiers (CoCreate, Surge, Optima) are designed for that sponsor-reporting model.
- You want one tool for marketing and delivery (website, funnels, email, courses, community): Coachful. Neither Healthie nor Simply.Coach lists a website builder with funnels and email sequences on its pricing pages.
How do Healthie and Simply.Coach compare side by side?
The table below ranks the three options on what matters most to a coach: one login for the whole client journey, delivery between sessions, total stack cost and setup effort. On those criteria Coachful leads, Simply.Coach sits second for non-clinical coaches, and Healthie wins only when clinical compliance is the requirement.
| Tool | Built for | HIPAA BAA | Between-session delivery | Website and funnels | Entry price |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Coaches who deliver programs, solo to small team | No (not HIPAA-certified) | Habits, daily tasks, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars, streaks, branded client app | Yes: website builder, funnels, email sequences, link in bio | Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients |
| Simply.Coach | Coaching practices and coaching firms | Not stated on pricing pages | Programs, contracts, survey forms, client portal | Not listed on pricing pages | $9 (Starter, 3 coachees) |
| Healthie | Dietitians, nutrition and wellness providers | Yes, automatic at account creation | Client portal; online programs on some tiers (page is inconsistent) | Not listed on pricing page | $19.99/month (Core, 10 clients) |
Both vendors make sense on their own terms. The difference is the job each was designed for. If you want a deeper look at one side, our Simply Coach review and our Practice Better vs Healthie comparison cover each product in more depth.
What is Healthie, and who is it really for?
Healthie is practice management and telehealth software for dietitians, nutrition professionals and wellness providers. It includes a client portal, booking, charting and payments through Stripe, and its plans are driven mainly by how many active clients you have.

Healthie's strongest point for a clinical provider is compliance. As listed in October 2026, its business associate agreement takes effect automatically when you create an account, which matters if you are a covered entity under HIPAA. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services explains who counts as a covered entity: in short, health care providers who transmit health information electronically for billing, health plans and clearinghouses. Most coaches are not covered entities, which is why a BAA is often a requirement you do not have.
The other clinical pieces are add-ons: ClaimMD insurance claims (listed at $30 per month, or $25 per month plus a setup fee of $50 to $100), DoseSpot e-prescribing at $40 per clinician per month, AI charting with no published price, and an inbound eFax line at $10 per month. A coach usually needs none of these, and paying for a platform built around them means working in an interface designed for clinicians.
One caution: in October 2026, Healthie's plan cards and its comparison table disagreed on which tier includes online programs and ClaimMD. If programs are the reason you are considering Healthie, confirm with their sales team which plan includes them before you buy.
Public reviews are thin. Healthie had a Trustpilot score of 4.0 from 5 reviews when we looked on 29 October 2026, too few to draw conclusions from.
What is Simply.Coach, and who is it really for?
Simply.Coach is a coaching practice platform: contracts, programs, sessions, booking pages, survey forms and a client portal, with separate business and enterprise tiers for coaching firms. It speaks the language of coaching, not clinical care.

Its solo plans support 1:1 and group coaching from the start. Growth adds multiple calendars, recurring sessions, your logo and onboarding. Leap adds a white-labelled platform on your own domain. The business tiers go further: program managers, sponsors, email white-labelling, coach payouts, coach matching, NPS and automated reports on Optima. That sponsor and program-manager structure is a real strength for firms selling coaching to companies.
The limits are the thing to watch. Every solo plan below Leap caps coachees, contracts and programs. As listed in October 2026, automated invoices were marked "Coming Soon" on the solo pricing page, Simply.Coach did not state its payment processors or transaction fees on its pricing pages, and it does not refund mid-period cancellations. Its site states all data can be exported to spreadsheets (as of September 2026). An older review profile from September 2026 showed a G2 rating of 4.8 from 146 reviews; Simply.Coach had no Trustpilot presence.

How does pricing compare between Healthie and Simply.Coach?
Healthie starts higher but allows more clients per tier (10, then 250, then unlimited). Simply.Coach starts lower but caps clients much more tightly (3, 7, 30, then unlimited on Leap at $69). Healthie is cheaper from 4 to 10 clients and again beyond 30; between 11 and 30 the two cost about the same.

| Tool and plan | Monthly price | Annual billing | Client limit | Notable inclusions |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients | Flat monthly plans; monthly plans cancel in one click | Lower plans cap clients; Pro is unlimited | Booking, payments, contracts, programs, courses, community, website, email, AI assistant included in your Coachful membership |
| Healthie Core | $19.99 | $18/month | Up to 10 active clients | Client portal, booking, charting, Stripe payments |
| Healthie Essentials | $49.99 | $45/month | Up to 250 active clients | As Core with a higher client limit |
| Healthie Plus | $129.99 | $115/month | Unlimited | Unlimited clients |
| Healthie Group | $149.99 | $135/month | 1 provider and 1 support seat, then $50/month per extra provider | Multi-provider practice |
| Simply.Coach Starter | $9 | Not shown | 3 active coachees, 1 contract, 1 program | 1:1 and group coaching, booking pages, survey forms |
| Simply.Coach Essentials | $29 | $290/year ($24.17/month) | 7 coachees, 3 contracts, 3 programs | Same as Starter with higher limits |
| Simply.Coach Growth | $49 | Not shown | 30 coachees, 10 contracts and programs | Multiple calendars, recurring sessions, your logo |
| Simply.Coach Leap | $69 | Not shown | Unlimited coachees, contracts and programs | White-labelled platform, your domain |
Two pricing notes matter. Simply.Coach's headline prices do not state the billing period, and its USD prices are tax-inclusive (an INR option excludes GST); the page advertises "save up to 52% on annual" but shows an annual figure only for Essentials. Healthie lists Stripe processing at 2.9% + $0.30 per card payment.

What would three example practices pay?
These are illustrative examples using the list prices above, before any add-ons or payment processing.
| Example practice | Coachful | Healthie | Simply.Coach |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful (cheapest plan that fits) | 8 clients: Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; 25 clients: Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; 40 clients: Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients | Not applicable | Not applicable |
| Solo coach, 8 active clients | See first row | Core, $19.99/month | Growth, $49 (Essentials caps at 7) |
| Growing coach, 25 active clients | See first row | Essentials, $49.99/month | Growth, $49 |
| Group programs, 40 active clients | See first row | Essentials, $49.99/month | Leap, $69 |
The list price is only part of the bill. A coach on Healthie or Simply.Coach who also wants a website, funnels, email marketing, a course area and a community usually pays for several more tools on top. That total stack cost is where an all-in-one platform tends to come out ahead; our Simply.Coach alternatives roundup walks through the numbers.
How do the features compare, one by one?
Healthie leads on clinical tools, Simply.Coach on coaching-firm administration, and neither documents marketing tools on its pricing pages. The details follow.
| Feature | Coachful | Healthie | Simply.Coach |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful summary | One login for booking, payments, contracts, programs, courses, community, website, email and AI | Clinical practice management | Coaching practice management |
| Booking and calendars | Availability rules, buffers, two-way Google, Apple and Outlook sync, SMS and WhatsApp reminders once messaging is enabled | Booking included | Booking pages; multiple calendars and recurring sessions from Growth |
| Payments | Your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay; subscriptions, payment plans, coupons; 0% platform fee | Stripe, 2.9% + $0.30 | Processor and fees not stated; automated invoices "Coming Soon" |
| Contracts | Coaching agreements with e-signature before the first call | Not a listed focus | Yes, capped per plan below Leap |
| Programs and habits | Multi-week programs, weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, check-ins, streaks | Online programs on some tiers (page inconsistent) | Programs, capped per plan below Leap |
| Courses and community | Courses with drip, community feed, group chat, cohort groups | Not listed | Group coaching; courses not listed |
| Website, funnels, email | Website builder, funnels, broadcasts and sequences | Not listed | Not listed; white-label domain on Leap |
| Clinical tools | None (not HIPAA-certified) | Charting, BAA, ClaimMD and e-prescribing add-ons | Not listed |
| Teams | Studio and Agency seats with per-coach availability and permissions | Group plan, $50/month per extra provider | Per-coach business tiers with sponsors and program managers |
Scheduling
All three handle booking. Simply.Coach's lower plans allow one calendar, which matters if you keep work and personal calendars separate; Growth raises that to three. Healthie includes booking as part of its practice management. Coachful adds two-way sync with Google, Apple/iCloud and Outlook, auto-created Zoom, Meet or Teams links, intake questions at booking, and paid sessions or session credits.

Payments and invoicing
Healthie runs payments through Stripe and lists the standard 2.9% + $0.30 card fee. Simply.Coach does not state its processor or fees on its pricing pages, and automated invoices were still marked "Coming Soon" in October 2026. That gap matters if you sell monthly packages and want billing to run on its own. In Coachful, payments go through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account, with subscriptions, payment plans, order bumps, coupons, refunds, Apple Pay and Google Pay, an invoice per transaction plus manual invoices, and no platform fee on top of processing. See coaching payment software for the full flow.

Contracts
Simply.Coach treats contracts as a core object, which suits coaching engagements, but caps them at 1 on Starter, 3 on Essentials and 10 on Growth. Healthie is oriented to clinical intake and charting rather than coaching agreements. Coachful sends a coaching agreement with e-signature before the first call and stores it on the client record; more on that at coaching contracts.

Programs and between-session work
This is where coaching results are often made or lost, and where the three differ most. Simply.Coach includes programs, again capped below Leap. Healthie's own page was inconsistent about which tier includes online programs. Coachful is built around this layer: multi-week programs with weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars and streaks, all inside a client app carrying your branding.
Here is a short walkthrough of how programs are built in Coachful:
Team and firm features
Simply.Coach is the strongest of the three for coaching firms that sell to organisations. Surge and Optima add program managers and sponsors, and Optima adds coach payouts, coach matching, NPS and automated reports. Healthie's Group plan is a multi-provider clinical practice. Coachful's Studio and Agency plans add coach seats with per-coach availability, staff permissions and round-robin or least-busy assignment; it does not have a multi-stage sales deal board or Salesforce and HubSpot integrations.
What does the client experience look like in each?
The client side is where the products feel most different. Healthie gives clients a portal for a provider relationship. Simply.Coach gives them a coaching portal with your logo from Growth and a white-labelled platform on your domain at Leap. Coachful gives them a branded home and app where the day's tasks, habits, check-ins, sessions, courses and community sit together.

That matters because clients rarely log into a portal unless it gives them something to do today. A morning check-in, a habit to tick or a lesson unlocking this week brings them back. A list of past session notes usually does not.

One honest limitation on the Coachful side: the client app ships under the Coachful listing with your branding, not under your own App Store account. If a fully separate app in your own name is a must, Simply.Coach's Leap white-label (on your domain) is closer to that, though it is a web platform rather than your own app listing.
Is coaching software the right place for health information?
Only if you stay within coaching. Coaching is not medical treatment, and a coach should not diagnose, prescribe or manage a medical condition. Health and wellness coaching, which the National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching certifies in the U.S., centres on supporting behaviour change rather than clinical care.
Refer a client to a doctor or licensed provider when they report symptoms such as chest pain, fainting, unexplained weight loss, signs of an eating disorder, thoughts of self-harm, or when they ask you to adjust medication. If you are a licensed clinician who keeps clinical records, use a clinical system such as Healthie that offers a BAA. Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and is not for clinical record-keeping or insurance billing, and Simply.Coach does not state HIPAA coverage on its pricing pages. For more on scope, see is a health coach worth it and Coachful for health coaches.
Which should you pick: Healthie or Simply.Coach?
Choose Healthie if you are a clinician; choose Simply.Coach if you are a coaching firm with sponsors; for most solo coaches, neither is the best fit, which is the next section.
- Pick Healthie if you are a dietitian, nutritionist or licensed wellness provider who needs a BAA, charting, insurance claims or e-prescribing. Its 250-client Essentials tier is good value for a busy clinical caseload.
- Pick Simply.Coach if you run a coaching firm that sells to companies and needs sponsors, program managers, coach matching and automated reports, or if you are a solo coach with fewer than 30 clients who mainly needs contracts and session admin.
- Avoid Healthie if you are not clinical. You would pay for compliance and clinical workflows you do not use.
- Avoid Simply.Coach if you sell recurring packages and need automated invoicing today, or if you expect to pass 30 clients soon and do not want to jump to Leap.
The third option: when does Coachful beat both?
Coachful beats both when you are a coach (not a clinician) who delivers programs and wants marketing, sales and delivery in one place. It does not beat Healthie for clinical work, and it does not beat Simply.Coach's sponsor-reporting tiers for coaching firms selling into large organisations.

What Coachful is. One subscription covers booking, payments, contracts, program delivery with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant, with one login for the coach and one branded app for the client. It is built for coaches who deliver programs, not just sessions; solo coaches growing into a small team; and coaches replacing four to six tools. Coachful is based in Tallinn, Estonia, and has a Trustpilot rating of 4.5 from 21 reviews.

Where it beats Healthie and Simply.Coach.
- Delivery between sessions: programs with daily tasks, habits, check-ins and streaks, plus courses with drip and a community feed with cohort groups created automatically on enrolment.
- Selling: a website builder with 30 homepage templates, booking, application, lead-magnet and checkout funnels, email broadcasts and sequences, and Instagram automations that send a booking link or lead magnet in a DM when someone comments a keyword.
- Payments without a platform cut: your own Stripe or Razorpay account, 0% Coachful platform fee, subscriptions and payment plans.
- Michelle, the AI assistant: builds programs, drafts emails, summarises recorded sessions and briefs you before each session from live practice data.
- ICF credential tracking: counts coaching hours and distinct clients against ACC, PCC and MCC thresholds and exports an ICF client coaching log (ICF hour tracking).
- Fitness and nutrition coaches: the Fitness & Nutrition pack adds a workout builder, nutrition targets, meal plans, food lookup and barcode scanning, and private progress photos.

What Coachful does not do. It is not HIPAA-certified and has no BAA, so it is not for clinical records or insurance billing. It has no PayPal and no permanent free plan. It has no Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop or Oura sync, Apple Health sync is not publicly available, and it has no stock exercise videos (you attach your own). The client app carries your branding inside the Coachful app rather than your own App Store listing. There is no Salesforce or HubSpot integration and no multi-stage deal board for large sales teams.
Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. On every plan, you can open Create, choose "We'll build it for you · FREE", and describe what you want: a website, funnel, sales page, program, course outline, email sequence, form, link in bio and more. You can attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files, and the Coachful team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours. Nothing is invented: no fake credentials, testimonials or prices, and gaps are left for you to fill. For example, a menopause and midlife health coach starting from nothing got a five-page site in sage and cream with every button leading to a free 20-minute consultation. It does not cover video recording, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing. Read more about the free white-glove service.

How to start. Start a free trial, then either import your clients, programs and content (the team imports them for you during onboarding) or request a white-glove build of your site and first program. Current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients. If you are moving off Simply.Coach specifically, our guide on how to migrate from Simply Coach covers exporting your data and telling clients, and the Coachful vs Simply.Coach comparison goes feature by feature.
How hard is it to switch between these tools?
Switching is mostly about data and client communication, not software. Simply.Coach states that all data can be exported to spreadsheets (as of September 2026). Healthie's data export was not confirmed from official documentation when we checked, so ask their support what format you get before you commit. Coachful exports the full client record as a ZIP (roster, notes, check-ins, goals, habits, sessions and form responses) plus courses, and imports your clients, programs and content for you during onboarding.
A practical order that works for most coaches: export your client list and notes, set up booking and payments in the new tool, rebuild one program, then move clients over at a natural break such as the end of a package, so nobody is billed twice. Simply.Coach does not refund mid-period cancellations, so time the switch to the end of a billing period.
Frequently asked questions
Is Healthie or Simply.Coach cheaper?
It depends on client count. As listed in October 2026, Simply.Coach Starter at $9 is cheapest for up to 3 clients, Healthie Core at $19.99 is cheaper from 4 to 10 clients, and from 11 to 30 clients both cost about $49. Beyond 30, Healthie Essentials ($49.99, up to 250 clients) is cheaper than Simply.Coach Leap ($69).
Is Simply.Coach HIPAA compliant?
Simply.Coach does not state HIPAA coverage or a BAA on its pricing pages. If you need a BAA, ask Simply.Coach directly before storing any health information. Healthie's BAA takes effect automatically when you create an account.
Can a health coach use Healthie?
Yes, but it is built for dietitians and clinical providers, so a non-clinical coach pays for compliance and clinical workflows they may never use. A coaching platform with programs, habits and check-ins usually fits a health coach's day-to-day work better. Remember that coaching is not treatment, and refer clients with medical concerns to a doctor.
Does Simply.Coach take payments?
Simply.Coach did not state its payment processor or transaction fees on its pricing pages in October 2026, and automated invoices were marked "Coming Soon". Check the current state with Simply.Coach before relying on it for recurring billing.
Which is better for group coaching?
Simply.Coach supports 1:1 and group coaching from Starter, and its business tiers add structure for firms. Healthie is centred on individual provider relationships. Coachful adds community feeds, group chat, video events and cohort groups created automatically when clients enrol in a program.
Is Coachful a HIPAA-compliant alternative to Healthie?
No. Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and does not sign a BAA, so it is not a replacement for clinical record-keeping or insurance billing. It is the better choice for coaches whose work stays within coaching.
What is Coachful's free white-glove service?
On every plan, you can ask the Coachful team to build a website, funnel, program, course outline, email sequence or similar inside your own account, at no extra cost. You describe what you want and attach references and files, and it is usually ready within about 24 hours. It does not include video recording, logo design or ad management.
Can I try Healthie, Simply.Coach and Coachful before paying?
Yes. As listed in October 2026, Simply.Coach offers a 14-day free trial with no credit card, Healthie lists a free trial, and Coachful offers a free trial. None of the three has a permanent free plan.
Can I export my data if I leave?
Simply.Coach states data can be exported to spreadsheets. Healthie's export was not confirmed from official documentation when we checked. Coachful exports the full client record as a ZIP, plus courses.
What should a coaching firm with corporate sponsors choose?
Simply.Coach's business tiers are designed for that model, with sponsors, program managers, coach matching, NPS and automated reports on Optima. If your firm is a small team delivering programs and selling directly to clients, compare Coachful's team plans, which add coach seats and per-coach availability. See Coachful for teams.
