How to Migrate from Mighty Networks Without Losing Members

To migrate from Mighty Networks without losing members, export your member list and tags while your plan is still active, rebuild your courses and spaces on the new platform, then move paying members on a set date with a fresh checkout. Active subscriptions do not transfer from one platform's billing to another, so every paying member has to subscribe again, and the timing of that step decides whether anyone gets charged twice. The example plan below takes five weeks, runs both platforms in parallel for one billing cycle, and closes Mighty once the last renewal has passed.
We make Coachful, a coaching platform that puts community, courses, 1:1 sessions, programs and payments under one login, so this guide ends with how our team imports your clients, programs and content for you. Everything before that section applies wherever you move: the export, the data map, the member emails, the subscription plan and the cutover checklist.
Why do coaches leave Mighty Networks?
The usual reason is fit. Mighty Networks is built to run communities, courses and events, and coaches who sell individual coaching end up paying for separate tools to book sessions, sign agreements, send invoices and track client progress between calls.
Here is what Mighty Networks documents, as listed in October 2026, that matters for a coaching business:
- No 1:1 scheduling, invoicing or contracts. Mighty has events and livestreams, but private sessions with availability rules, agreements and per-client invoices live in other tools.
- No per-client habits, check-ins or private coaching plans. Members see the same spaces and courses; a coach cannot give one client a private weekly plan with daily tasks and a morning check-in.
- Branded apps only on Mighty Pro. Launch, Scale and Growth members use the Mighty-branded iOS and Android apps. Your own branded apps come with Mighty Pro, which is custom-priced.
- A platform fee on every sale. Mighty takes 2% on Launch, 1% on Scale and 0.5% on Growth and Mighty Pro, on top of Stripe processing.
- Price. Launch is $95 a month billed monthly or $79 a month billed annually ($950 a year). Scale is $215 monthly or $179 a month annually. Growth is $354 a month billed annually; Mighty does not publish a monthly-billed Growth price.
Public reviews are mixed: Mighty Networks held a Trustpilot score of 3.3 from 219 reviews when we checked on October 25, 2026. That number tells you nothing about your own community, but it is worth knowing before you renew an annual plan.
None of this makes Mighty a bad product. If your business is a large paid community with thousands of members, livestreams for hundreds of attendees and little 1:1 work, Mighty's community tools may still be the right home, and our Mighty Networks review covers where it is strong. If your members are really clients, the case for moving is stronger. Our Coachful vs Mighty Networks comparison goes feature by feature, and the Mighty Networks pricing breakdown shows what each plan includes.

What can you export from Mighty Networks?
Mighty Networks documents a member list export, with segmentation by Member Tags, as part of its Scale plan, and Scale and higher plans include the Mighty Admin API, which can return members, plans, subscriptions, purchases, posts and course items. The plan pages we read on October 25, 2026 describe no one-click export of posts, course lessons or uploaded videos, so plan to copy content rather than download it.
Sources, so you can check them yourself in Mighty's help center: the page titled "What's Included in the Mighty Networks Scale Plan?" lists "Member list export and segmentation with Member Tags" and "5,000 Admin API requests/month". The Launch plan page we read does not mention a member export, so if you are on Launch, open your admin's Members area first. If the export is not there, one month on Scale billed monthly is the documented route to it. Mighty's API reference (the developer documentation index) lists endpoints such as "Return members of the given Network", "Return members of the given plan", "List all payment subscriptions for the Network", "Return purchases and subscriptions for the given Network", "Returns a list of posts for the current Network" and "Returns a list of coursework items for the given space (course)". You only need the API if you or a developer want a fuller archive than the member CSV.
| Data in Mighty | Documented route out (October 2026) | What to do with it |
|---|---|---|
| Member names and emails | Member list export (Scale plan page); Admin API member endpoints | Download the CSV first, before you change anything. This is the one file you cannot rebuild. |
| Member Tags | Included with the member export and segmentation (Scale) | Keep tags as columns; they become client tags and email list segments. |
| Plans and who is on each | API: "Return all plans in the Network", "Return members of the given plan" | Without the API, filter members by plan in the admin and export each group. |
| Subscriptions and purchases | API: "List all payment subscriptions", "Return purchases and subscriptions"; your Stripe records | Note each paying member's plan, price and next renewal date. You need this for the payment cutover. |
| Posts, comments and discussions | API post and comment endpoints; no in-app bulk export described | Copy the handful of posts worth keeping (guides, pinned resources, FAQs). Let the rest go. |
| Course lessons | API coursework endpoints; no in-app bulk export described | Copy lesson text into documents. Find your original video files now. |
| Events and RSVPs | API: "List RSVPs for an event" | Recreate upcoming events on the new platform; past events do not need to move. |
| Profile question answers | API profile field responses | Turn the useful questions into intake questions or an application form. |
| Badges, analytics, member referral data | Badges via API; analytics on screen | Screenshot the numbers you report on. Badges and referral credit do not carry over. |
Two practical warnings. First, export before you downgrade or cancel, because plan features switch off with the plan. Second, a member CSV is personal data: store it somewhere private, share it only with the people doing the import, and delete stray copies when you are done.
How does Mighty Networks data map to Coachful?
Members become clients, Member Tags become client tags, spaces become community feeds and cohort groups, courses become Coachful courses, and paid plans become offers checked out through your own Stripe account. What does not move is history: old posts, chat threads, badges and analytics stay behind.

The biggest change is what a "member" is. In Mighty, a member belongs to a network and sees spaces. In Coachful, each person has a client record with their goals, check-ins, habits, notes, intake answers, tags, payments and sessions, plus a status of thriving, active, quiet or at risk. A group still exists (cohort groups are created automatically when someone enrolls in a program), but every person in it also has a private coaching record.
| Platform and object | Becomes | How it moves |
|---|---|---|
| Coachful (destination) | One login for the coach, one branded client app for members | Clients, programs and content are imported for you during onboarding |
| Mighty member | Client record (goals, check-ins, habits, notes, sessions, payments) | Member CSV imported during onboarding |
| Member Tags | Client tags and email list segments | Carried in the CSV columns |
| Spaces and the community feed | Community feed, group chat and direct messages | Rebuilt; pin your best resources as the first posts |
| Cohort or program space | Program with a cohort group created on enrollment | Rebuilt as a multi-week program with weekly goals and daily tasks |
| Course | Course with modules, lessons, drip and completion tracking | Lesson text copied in; you upload your own video files |
| Events and livestreams | Video events, group calls and webinars; 1:1 session types for private calls | Upcoming events recreated |
| Paid plan (membership or bundle) | Offer: subscription, one-time, payment plan or bundle, with coupons and order bumps | Rebuilt; members subscribe again (see the payments section) |
| Profile questions | Intake questions on booking, application funnel forms | Rewritten as forms |
| Onboarding automations | Email sequences with triggers, delays and branching; welcome coaching flow | Rebuilt from your existing copy |
| Landing pages and custom domain | Website with blog, funnels, link-in-bio page; custom domain | Rebuilt; domain repointed at cutover |
| Affiliates | Affiliate tracking for links, clicks, conversions and revenue (payouts recorded manually) | Affiliates get new links |
| Kit and Zapier connections | Built-in email lists and broadcasts; Zapier | Reconnected or replaced |
| Old posts, chats, badges, analytics | Not migrated | Archive what you need before cancelling |
Things you gain in the move that had no Mighty equivalent: booking pages with availability rules, buffers and two-way Google, Apple and Outlook calendar sync; coaching agreements with e-signature sent before the first call; morning and evening check-ins; habits with streaks; and per-transaction invoices. If you run cohorts, our guide to running coaching cohorts without Mighty Networks shows the program setup in detail, and the mastermind guide covers smaller premium groups.

What does a Mighty Networks migration look like, step by step?
Work in this order: export, build, test, announce, switch payments, then close. The example timeline below fits a coach with a few dozen to a few hundred members; a larger community can stretch the announcement and parallel weeks without changing the order.
| Week (example) | What happens | Done when |
|---|---|---|
| Coachful setup (week 1) | Start a free trial, submit the import and any white-glove build requests | Your client list, programs and website are in your account |
| Week 0 | Inventory: members, paying plans, renewal dates, courses, key posts, domain | One spreadsheet lists everything that must move |
| Week 1 | Export member CSV and payment records; copy lesson text; gather video files | Exports saved in a private folder |
| Week 2 | Build offers, programs, courses and community; connect Stripe; test checkout | A test client can buy, enroll and post |
| Week 3 | Pilot with three to five trusted members; send the announcement email | Pilot feedback fixed; everyone knows the date |
| Week 4 | Cutover: invitations, new checkout links, archive Mighty paid plans, pin a moving notice | Most active members have logged in to the new space |
| Weeks 5 to 8 | Parallel period: Mighty stays open but quiet until the last paid period ends | No paying member left on Mighty |
| Close | Final export, cancel the Mighty plan, repoint the domain | Mighty account closed |
- Take inventory before you touch anything. List every space, course, paid plan, event and automation. Next to each paid plan, write how many members are on it, the price, monthly or annual, and the next renewal dates. This list drives every later decision.
- Export while your plan is active. Download the member CSV with tags. Save payment and subscription records from Mighty or from your Stripe dashboard. Copy lesson text into documents and collect the original video files from your computer or cloud drive.
- Set up the destination. On Coachful, connect your own Stripe (or Razorpay) account, add your calendar, and send your exports to the onboarding team so clients, programs and content are imported for you. If you want the website, funnel or emails built too, request them through the white-glove service described below.
- Rebuild offers before content. Create the offers members will buy: a monthly community or program subscription, an annual option if you sell one, payment plans for higher-ticket programs, and any coupons you need for the switch. Offers are the hardest part to change once members are paying, so settle them first.
- Rebuild courses and the community. Upload lessons, set drip schedules, and seed the feed with five to ten useful posts so the first visitors do not land in an empty room. Turn cohort spaces into programs so the group is created automatically on enrollment.
- Test the full member path. Buy your own offer with a real card, refund it, enroll in the program, post in the community, book a session and receive the reminder emails. Then ask a few trusted members to do the same and tell you what confused them.
- Announce, then invite. Send the announcement three weeks out and the invitation one week out, using the templates in the next section.
- Cut over payments. On the cutover date, archive the Mighty paid plans so no new renewals start, and send each paying member their new checkout link. The payments section explains the timing.
- Keep Mighty quiet, not closed. Leave it open through the last paid period so members keep the access they paid for, and so you can handle refunds or disputes on old charges. Post a pinned notice pointing to the new home and stop posting new content there.
- Close and redirect. Take a final export, cancel your Mighty plan, and point your custom domain at your new website.
This walkthrough shows how a program is built in Coachful, which is where most rebuilt Mighty spaces end up:

What should you tell members, and when?
Tell members three times: an announcement about three weeks before the move, an invitation with their personal link about a week before, and a last reminder two or three days before their Mighty access ends. Paying members get one extra email with their new checkout link. Short, specific emails with a date and a single action work better than one long letter.
Replace everything in square brackets. Keep your real prices and dates; do not promise anything you have not set up yet.
Email 1: the announcement (about three weeks out)
Subject: We're moving to a new home on [date]
Hi [first name],
On [date], [community name] is moving from Mighty Networks to a new platform. The reason is simple: I want to coach you more closely, with [1:1 sessions / weekly check-ins / your own program plan] in the same place as our community and courses.
What stays the same: [the people, the weekly calls, your course access].
What's new: [two or three concrete things].
What you need to do now: nothing. I'll send your personal invitation on [date].Questions? Just reply to this email.
[Your name]
Email 2: the invitation (about one week out)
Subject: Your invitation to the new [community name]
Hi [first name],
Your new space is ready. Here's your link: [invitation link]
It takes about two minutes: set a password, add a photo, and say hello in the welcome post. You can use it in your browser or download the app from [app store link], then look for [your brand name] once you sign in.
Your courses are already there, and our next call on [date] will run from the new calendar. Mighty Networks stays open until [date] so nothing disappears in the meantime, but new posts and resources will only go up in the new space.
See you inside,
[Your name]
Email 3: for paying members (send with or just after the invitation)
Subject: Your membership: one step to keep it going
Hi [first name],
Your current membership renews through Mighty Networks on [renewal date]. I've stopped those renewals, so you will not be charged there again, and you keep full access until [end of paid period].
To continue, start your membership in the new space here: [checkout link]. [Your price stays at [price] per [month/year]. / Use code [CODE] at checkout to cover the days you've already paid for.]
If you'd rather not continue, you don't need to do anything. Your access ends on [date] and you won't be charged again.
[Your name]
Email 4: last reminder (two or three days before access ends)
Subject: [Community name] on Mighty closes on [date]
Hi [first name],
A quick reminder: our Mighty Networks space closes on [date]. If you haven't joined the new one yet, here's your link: [invitation or checkout link].
If something isn't working, reply and I'll sort it out personally.
[Your name]
Two compliance points. If you send marketing emails to the imported list (not just messages about an existing membership), the FTC's CAN-SPAM compliance guide requires a valid physical postal address and a clear way to opt out, and opt-outs must be honored within 10 business days. Bring unsubscribed contacts over as unsubscribed, not as fresh subscribers. If you have members in the EU or UK, moving their data to a new processor has its own rules; check with an attorney if you are unsure what notice you owe them.
If you plan to move member wins and kind words from Mighty posts onto your new website, ask each person first. The FTC's Endorsement Guides require testimonials to reflect the person's honest opinion, and the Consumer Reviews and Testimonials Rule prohibits fake or false testimonials.

What happens to paid memberships and Stripe subscriptions?
Paid memberships do not move. A subscription a member started through Mighty Networks is run by Mighty's billing, and no other platform can take it over, even though Stripe processes the card in both places. Each paying member starts a new subscription on your new checkout, and you stop the Mighty renewals so nobody pays twice.
The clean way to time it uses a behaviour Mighty documents in its API reference: when you archive a plan, "Paid subscriptions usually cancel at the end of their current billing period, and members keep access until then. Some, such as free trials and past-due subscriptions, end immediately." That gives you a natural handover: archive the plan, members keep what they paid for, and each person's new subscription starts around the date their old one would have renewed. Check the archive behaviour in your own admin before you rely on it, and note any members on a trial or with a past-due payment, since those end right away.
Monthly members
Archive the Mighty plan on cutover day and send Email 3. Members who subscribe on the new checkout before their Mighty period ends will pay for a few overlapping days. If that matters to you, give them a coupon that covers the overlap, or ask them to subscribe within a few days of their old renewal date.
Annual members
Members who paid for a year in advance have prepaid access you owe them. You have two honest options: let them keep using Mighty until their term ends (and run both spaces longer), or bring them across now and give them a coupon on the new checkout that covers the months they already paid for. The second keeps everyone in one place. Write down each annual member's end date so their new billing starts on time.
One-time course buyers and free members
People who bought a course outright should get the course on the new platform without paying again. Include them in the import with access to the course they own. Free members need only the invitation email.
Payment plans in progress
If someone is halfway through an installment plan, let it finish on Mighty if you can, then give them full access on the new platform. If you must move them mid-plan, set up a payment plan for the remaining installments only, and confirm the amount with them in writing.
What you set up on Coachful
Coachful takes payments through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account: one-time payments, subscriptions, payment plans, order bumps, coupons, refunds, Apple Pay and Google Pay, and Stripe Tax, with an invoice per transaction plus manual invoices when you need one. Since August 2026 there is a 0% Coachful platform fee, so only the processor's fee applies. There is no PayPal option on Coachful, so members pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. For the full setup, see coaching payment software.
Keep your Mighty admin open until the last old charge is past its refund and dispute window, and save a copy of your payment records for your accountant before you close the account.

How do the costs compare before and after the move?
On Mighty, you pay a plan fee plus a 0.5% to 2% platform fee on sales, plus whatever separate tools you use for booking, agreements and invoices. On Coachful, one flat monthly plan covers those, with no platform fee on sales. Mighty figures are as listed in October 2026.
| Platform and plan | Plan price | Platform fee on sales | 1:1 booking, agreements, invoices | Member or client app |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients | 0%; Stripe or Razorpay processing only | Included in your Coachful membership | Your branding inside the Coachful app |
| Mighty Networks Launch | $95/month, or $79/month billed annually ($950/year) | 2% plus Stripe | Not included | Mighty-branded apps |
| Mighty Networks Scale | $215/month, or $179/month billed annually | 1% plus Stripe | Not included | Mighty-branded apps |
| Mighty Networks Growth | $354/month billed annually; monthly price not published | 0.5% plus Stripe | Not included | Mighty-branded apps |
| Mighty Pro | Custom pricing | 0.5% plus Stripe | Not included | Your own branded iOS and Android apps |
As an example, a community bringing in $4,000 a month in member payments pays Mighty $80 a month in platform fees on Launch, $40 on Scale and $20 on Growth, before Stripe's own processing. On Coachful that platform fee line is zero. If your community will grow past a client cap, the unlimited-client Pro plan is the one to price out: Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients. To compare every plan side by side (Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients), count the tools you would cancel too: a separate booking tool, e-signature tool and invoicing tool each carry their own monthly fee.

What goes on the cutover checklist?
Run through this list on cutover day and again before you cancel Mighty. Each line has a clear "done when" so you can tick it off without guessing.
| Item | When | Done when |
|---|---|---|
| Coachful account ready | Before announcing | Stripe connected, calendar synced, clients imported, a test purchase refunded |
| Member CSV with tags exported | Week 1 | Saved privately, row count matches your member count |
| Payment and renewal records saved | Week 1 | Every paying member has a plan, price and renewal date in your sheet |
| Course text and video files collected | Week 1 | Every lesson has its text and original video in one folder |
| Offers and coupons created | Week 2 | Each Mighty paid plan has a matching offer and checkout link |
| Community seeded | Week 2 | Welcome post, rules and five to ten useful posts pinned |
| Pilot complete | Week 3 | Three to five members bought, joined and posted without help |
| Announcement sent | Week 3 | Email 1 sent and a pinned post on Mighty |
| Invitations and checkout links sent | Week 4 | Emails 2 and 3 sent; replies answered |
| Mighty paid plans archived | Cutover day | No new renewals can start on Mighty |
| Upcoming events moved | Cutover day | Calendar invites point to the new links |
| Affiliates and integrations updated | Cutover week | Affiliates have new links; Zapier and email tools reconnected |

How does Coachful's white-glove import and build work?
You send your exports and tell the Coachful team what you want built, and they set it up inside your own account. Clients, programs and content are imported for you during onboarding, and the white-glove build service covers the website, funnels, programs, course outlines, email sequences and more.
Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. On every plan, you can open Create > We'll build it for you · FREE (or the "Want us to build it for you?" card on the Website, Funnels and Programs pages and the template galleries) and describe what you need: a website, funnel, offer or sales page, program, course (outline and written material), journey or coaching flow, form or worksheet, article, email sequence or newsletter, link in bio, lead quiz, event or webinar, or automation. You can attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files, such as your logo, photos, brand guide, existing copy and the documents you copied out of Mighty. The team usually builds within about 24 hours. Nothing gets invented: no credentials, testimonials or prices you did not give them, and any gaps are left for you to fill.

For a Mighty migration, a useful request looks like this: "Rebuild my Mighty landing page as a homepage with one button to the membership checkout, turn my 'Start Here' space into a welcome email sequence, and set up my eight-week cohort as a program with weekly goals." Attach the landing page link, your logo and the copied text.
Recent anonymized builds give a sense of scope. A somatic coach leaving Kajabi had the homepage and About page rebuilt and the contact form connected. A business mentor for beauty professionals got a 12-week mentorship sales page, a start-up-guide lead funnel and rewritten follow-up emails. A real-estate and money coach got a year-long cohort program with an application form, an eight-page site and a nine-day bootcamp funnel. A leadership coach with a website renewal days away got one clean homepage with a repeated "talk with me" button.
What the service does not include: recording videos, designing a logo, managing ads or ongoing marketing. You upload your own course videos. Read more in how the white-glove service works.

What is Coachful, and who should not switch to it?
Coachful is a coaching platform where one subscription covers booking, payments, contracts, program delivery with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant, with one login for the coach and one branded app for the client. It is built for coaches who deliver programs rather than just sessions, solo coaches growing into a small team, and coaches replacing four to six tools.
For a former Mighty host, the parts that matter most:
- Community and groups. Community feed, group chat, direct messages and video events, with cohort groups created automatically when someone enrolls in a program. Group calls and webinars are included too. See group coaching software.
- Courses. Modules, lessons, drip and completion tracking, plus downloads, videos, books, events and bundles, delivered into the client's branded home and app. See the course platform for coaches.
- Programs between sessions. Multi-week programs with weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars and streaks.
- 1:1 work. Booking pages with buffers, minimum notice and time-zone detection, built-in video or auto-created Zoom, Meet or Teams links, reminders, and coaching agreements with e-signature. See scheduling software.
- Michelle, the AI assistant. Works from your live practice data to build programs, draft emails, summarize recorded sessions and brief you before sessions. Questions and planning are included in your Coachful membership; confirmed builds and changes use AI credits.
- Templates. More than 40 program templates, 48 course templates with quizzes and about 25 funnel templates.

What Coachful does not do, so you can rule it out quickly:
- It is not HIPAA-certified and offers no BAA, so it is not for clinical record-keeping or insurance billing.
- No PayPal, and no permanent free plan.
- The client app ships under the Coachful listing with your branding, not under your own App Store account. If your own app listing is essential, Mighty Pro offers that at custom pricing.
- It is not a course marketplace and has no third-party plugins.
- No Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop or Oura sync.
- The affiliate program tracks links, clicks, conversions and revenue, but you record payouts yourself.
- If you need livestreams for hundreds of simultaneous viewers, check that against your audience size before you move; Mighty documents livestream capacity per plan (for example 200 attendees per stream on Scale).
How to start: open a free trial, connect Stripe, and send your Mighty exports with a white-glove request. Coachful holds a Trustpilot score of 4.5 from 21 reviews. Current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients. Monthly plans cancel in one click. Frequently asked questions
How long does it take to migrate from Mighty Networks?
The example plan in this guide takes five weeks from inventory to cutover, plus a parallel period until the last paid Mighty period ends. A small community with one course can move faster; a large one with annual members may keep Mighty open for several months. The order of steps matters more than the speed.
Can I export my members from Mighty Networks?
Yes. Mighty's Scale plan documentation lists "Member list export and segmentation with Member Tags", and Scale and higher plans include an Admin API that returns members, plans and subscriptions. The Launch plan page we read does not mention the export, so check your admin, and export before you downgrade or cancel.
Can I export posts, courses and videos from Mighty Networks?
The plan pages we read describe no one-click export of posts, course lessons or videos. The Admin API has endpoints for posts and coursework items, which a developer can use for an archive. For most coaches it is faster to copy lesson text into documents and use the original video files.
Will my members' subscriptions transfer automatically?
No. A subscription started through Mighty's billing cannot be taken over by another platform. Each paying member subscribes again on your new checkout, and you archive the Mighty plan so renewals stop. Mighty documents that archived paid subscriptions usually cancel at the end of the current billing period, with access until then.
How do I avoid charging members twice?
Archive the Mighty plan on cutover day so no new renewals start, then ask members to subscribe on the new checkout close to their old renewal date. Where periods overlap, a coupon on the new checkout can cover the days or months they already paid for.
What happens to my custom domain?
Keep it pointed at Mighty until cutover, then point it at your new website once members have moved. Coachful's website builder supports a custom domain, a blog and SEO settings, so your address stays the same for members and search engines.
Will members need a new app?
Yes. Members leave the Mighty app and use the Coachful app, where they see your branding once they sign in, or they use the new space in a browser. Put the download step in the invitation email so nobody has to work it out alone.
Is the Coachful white-glove build service really free?
Yes. The white-glove build service is free on every plan: you request a website, funnel, program, course outline, email sequence or similar, attach up to 8 links and 10 files, and the team builds it in your account, usually within about 24 hours. It does not record videos, design logos or run ads, and it never invents testimonials, credentials or prices.
Should I keep Mighty Networks for the community and add Coachful for coaching?
You can, but you would pay for two platforms and ask members to use two apps. Coachful includes a community feed, group chat, direct messages and video events, so most coaches who move put everything in one place. If your community is very large and mostly separate from your coaching clients, running both for a while is a reasonable choice.
