How to Start an Online Yoga Business: Top 10 Tools in 2026

How to Start an Online Yoga Business: Top 10 Tools in 2026

How to start an online yoga business comes down to one deciding question: will your students only drop in for live classes, or will you also guide their practice between classes? The steps are the same either way. Choose who you teach, package an offer (weekly live classes, a multi-week program, an on-demand library or private sessions), set a price, screen students for health issues, and pick one platform that books, charges and delivers. The software choice is the part that decides how much admin you carry each week, so most of this guide is about that choice.

Our pick for most teachers is Coachful, because it holds the whole student journey in one login: class booking, memberships and class packs, multi-week programs with daily practice and check-ins, an on-demand course library, a community and your website. We make Coachful, so we have tried to be specific about where other tools fit better, and every other entry ends with the case for choosing it instead. Below you will find a five-question checklist, a table that maps your answers to a tool, ten ranked platforms, costs at 5, 15 and 40 students, and the red flags that make switching painful later.

What should you decide before choosing yoga software?

Answer five questions about your practice first; the answers rule out half the market before you look at a single pricing page. Write your answers down, because the table in the next section uses them.

  1. How will students attend? Live group classes on video, private 1:1 sessions, recorded classes they follow on their own time, or a mix. A teacher running a 7am flow three times a week needs class booking and reminders; a teacher selling a recorded library needs course hosting and very little scheduling.
  2. What will you sell? A monthly membership, a class pack (say, ten classes), a fixed-length program such as a six-week beginner foundations course, private sessions, or a one-off workshop. Recurring memberships need subscription billing; class packs need session credits.
  3. Do you want to support practice between classes? If you want students to do a ten-minute home sequence on the days you do not meet, log it, and tell you how their body feels, you need habits, daily tasks and check-ins. Most course and community tools do not do this.
  4. Do you already have a website and email list? If not, a platform with a website builder, sign-up funnels and email sequences saves you two or three extra subscriptions. If you already run a site you like, you only need booking and delivery.
  5. How many students and teachers will you have in a year? Some tools price by client count, others by contacts, seats or a share of every sale. Five private students and forty membership students produce very different bills, and adding a second teacher changes the picture again.

If you are still shaping the offer itself, our guide to choosing an online program format covers the trade-offs between live, recorded and hybrid delivery, and this startup budget lists the costs beyond software.

Which tool matches your answers?

Use the table below as a shortcut: find the row whose description sounds most like your answers, then read that tool's section. Ranked on one login for the whole student journey, support between classes, total monthly stack cost, and setup effort (including Coachful's free white-glove build).

Build your platform

How did we rank these tools?

We pictured one realistic teacher and asked which tool would run their week with the fewest logins. The example: a solo teacher with 15 students on a monthly membership, two live group classes a week on video, a few private sessions, and a six-week beginner program that runs twice a year. They have no website yet and want students practising at home between classes.

For that teacher, the tool has to book classes and privates with reminders, charge a recurring membership and sell a program, host recorded classes, give students a daily practice to follow, run a small community, and publish a website with an email sign-up. We scored each tool on how much of that it covers in one place, what it costs at 5, 15 and 40 students once fees are included, and how much setup work falls on the teacher. Prices come from each vendor's pricing page as listed in October 2026; feature limits come from vendor documentation and public reviews. We did not run paid accounts on each tool, so check anything that matters to you during a trial.

1. Coachful: best overall for teaching and guiding practice in one place

A student's habit tracker and coaching hub from Coachful on a tablet and phone beside a meditation cushion
Coachful's Growing Habits tracker and a student's coaching hub with the next session, shown beside a meditation cushion.

Coachful is a coaching platform where one subscription covers booking, payments, agreements, multi-week programs with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant. You log in once; your students use one app with your branding inside it. For a yoga teacher, that means the 7am class, the membership that pays for it, the home practice on the days in between and the email that welcomes a new student all live in the same account.

Live classes and private sessions. You set up booking pages with availability rules, buffers between sessions, minimum notice and automatic time-zone detection, so a student in another country sees your 7am class in their own time. Two-way sync with Google, Apple/iCloud and Outlook calendars keeps your personal diary clear. Each session can run on Coachful's built-in video or get an auto-created Zoom, Google Meet or Teams link. Group calls and webinars cover your weekly flow classes, and paid sessions and session credits handle drop-ins and class packs. Reminders go out by email, plus SMS 24 hours before and WhatsApp one hour before once messaging is enabled. Intake questions on the booking form are a sensible place to ask about injuries, pregnancy and anything else you need to know before someone joins a class.

Practice between classes. This is where Coachful separates from scheduling and course tools. A multi-week program can carry weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars and streaks. A six-week beginner foundations program might give students a short daily sequence, a breathing habit and an evening check-in on how their hips and lower back feel. When someone enrolls, Coachful creates their cohort group automatically, so the group has a place to talk from day one. On the client record you see check-ins, habits, notes, intake answers, payments and sessions, and each student carries a status of thriving, active, quiet or at risk, which shows who has stopped practising before they cancel.

On-demand library and community. Courses with modules, lessons, drip release and completion tracking work well as a recorded class library or a pose-by-pose foundations course. You film your own classes: Coachful has no stock exercise videos, though the Fitness & Nutrition pack's workout builder lets you attach your own demo videos and collect private form-check videos with timestamped comments (see the Fitness & Nutrition pack). The community gives you a feed, group chat, direct messages and video events, which suits a monthly live Q&A or a weekend workshop.

Selling memberships and programs. Payments run through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account: one-time purchases, subscriptions for a monthly membership, payment plans for a teacher training or retreat deposit, order bumps, coupons, refunds, Apple Pay and Google Pay, and Stripe Tax. Every transaction gets an invoice, and you can issue manual invoices. Since August 2026 Coachful takes a 0% platform fee on your sales; you pay only Stripe or Razorpay processing. Agreements with e-signature go out before the first session and stay on the student's record (have an attorney review the wording of any terms or waiver you use).

Finding students. The section-based website builder includes a blog, custom domain, SEO settings and 30 designed homepage templates, plus an option to import an existing site. Booking, application, lead-magnet and checkout funnels support pixels and UTM tracking, and email lists, broadcasts and multi-step sequences handle the welcome series for a free "7-day morning stretch" sign-up. A link-in-bio page can sell your class pack straight from Instagram. Michelle, the built-in AI assistant, can draft a program outline, emails or a class description from your real practice data; questions and planning are included in your Coachful membership, and confirmed builds use AI credits.

Here is a short walkthrough of how programs are built and delivered:

Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. If setting up a website and offer feels like the hardest part, you do not have to do it alone. From Create, choose "We'll build it for you · FREE", describe what you want (a website, a funnel for a free class, a sales page for your six-week program, a course outline, an email sequence), and attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files such as your logo, photos and existing copy. The Coachful team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours. Nothing gets invented: no made-up credentials, testimonials or prices, and any gaps are left for you to fill. It does not cover filming your classes, logo design, ads or ongoing marketing. One recent example: a menopause and midlife health coach starting from nothing got a five-page site in sage and cream with every button leading to a free 20-minute consultation. More detail is in our guide to the white-glove service.

Coachful Create page with the We will build it for you card
Coachful's Create page with the We will build it for you card, where you request the white-glove build.

What Coachful does not do. It is not HIPAA-certified and does not sign a BAA, so it is not the place for clinical records or insurance billing. There is no PayPal, no permanent free plan, and no Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop or Oura sync. Your students use the Coachful app with your branding, not an app under your own App Store account. It is not a course marketplace, so students will not discover you by browsing Coachful.

Price and plans. Plans are flat monthly prices: lower plans cap the number of clients, Pro is unlimited, and Studio and Agency add coach seats with per-teacher availability, staff permissions and round-robin assignment for shared class types. Monthly plans cancel in one click and there is a free trial. Current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients. On Trustpilot, Coachful shows 4.5 from 21 reviews (seen October 2026). It is built for teachers who deliver programs, not just sessions, and for anyone replacing four to six tools; if that is you, read our page for fitness coaches or group coaching software next.

2. Kajabi: strongest for selling recorded courses at scale

Kajabi homepage promoting its course, community and website platform
Kajabi's homepage in October 2026.

Kajabi is a course, community, website, funnel and email platform for selling knowledge products, and it fits yoga teachers whose business is a recorded library and a membership. If your answer to question one was "recorded classes" and question four was "I need marketing", Kajabi covers that ground in one product.

What you get on Basic, as listed in October 2026: $179/mo ($143/mo billed annually) for 5 products, 2,500 contacts, one community, one website and two admin users, with 0 AI credits. Growth at $249/mo ($199/mo annually) raises that to 50 products, 25,000 contacts and 500 AI credits. The standard trial is 14 days according to Kajabi's help center; a card is optional, and some features such as bulk contact import and some automations stay locked until you pay. Using Kajabi Payments in the US costs 2.9% + $0.30 per sale on Basic; using another processor (other than PayPal) adds a 2% Kajabi fee on Basic.

The gap for yoga teachers is between-class support. Kajabi has no habit tracking or daily check-ins, and coaching is organised as products and communities rather than per-student plans, so a teacher who wants to see who did their home practice this week will be working around the tool. The five-product cap on Basic also fills fast once you have a membership, a beginner course, a workshop replay and a teacher training. Kajabi shows 3.4 on Trustpilot from 2,347 reviews (seen October 2026). For more options in this space, see our list of Kajabi alternatives.

Pick it over Coachful if your business is mainly a large recorded catalogue sold through marketing funnels, you do not need daily practice tracking, and the higher monthly price is comfortable.

3. Momence: a studio-style timetable for many weekly classes

Momence pricing page asking studios to talk with sales about pricing
Momence's pricing page in October 2026.

Momence is booking and studio software built for yoga, pilates, dance, cycling and boutique fitness businesses, and its footer now reads "Xplor Momence". It is the only studio-management tool on this list, which matters if your online business looks like a studio: a full weekly timetable, several teachers, workshops and a class-pack economy.

According to its site, customers can book and buy classes, courses and workshops on the same calendar, staff and purchases are managed in the same software, marketing features are built in and based on client behaviour, and an AI Inbox answers customer questions at the moment they are ready to book. That is a sensible scope for a teacher running ten or more classes a week.

Pricing cannot be verified. Momence's pricing page, read on October 25, 2026, shows no plans or figures; it says "Let's talk pricing" and asks you to book a demo, alongside a "Start free trial" button with no trial length stated. We have not included a number in the cost table for that reason. Momence's site also does not describe multi-week programs with daily habits or check-ins, so plan on another tool if home practice is part of your offer.

Pick it over Coachful if you run a studio-style timetable with many classes and several teachers each week, studio operations matter more than guided home practice, and you are happy to get a custom quote.

4. Mighty Networks: community and livestreams first

Mighty Networks homepage introducing its community and course platform
Mighty Networks's homepage in October 2026.

Mighty Networks suits the teacher whose product is belonging: a members' space with livestreamed classes, courses and events, where the conversation between students is part of the value. It is a community platform with courses and events, and members use Mighty-branded apps.

Launch costs $95/mo ($79/mo annually) as listed in October 2026, with 3 hosts, 10 moderators, 200 GB of storage and 20 hours a month of livestreaming for up to 100 attendees. Scale is $215/mo ($179/mo annually) with 30 hours of livestreaming for up to 200 attendees. Mighty also takes a platform fee on sales: 2% on Launch, 1% on Scale and 0.5% on Growth, on top of Stripe processing. The trial is 14 days with no card, and it includes Growth plan features, so check which features you will lose when you drop to Launch.

Limits for yoga: there is no 1:1 scheduling, invoicing or contracts, so private sessions need a second tool, and there are no per-student habits, check-ins or private practice plans. Your own branded app is only on the custom-priced Mighty Pro tier. Trustpilot shows 3.3 from 219 reviews (seen October 2026). Our guide to hosting a coaching community covers what a community needs to stay active.

Pick it over Coachful if your offer is almost entirely group livestreams and member discussion, you never sell private sessions, and you want hosts and moderators to share the work.

5. Practice Better: for teachers who also work as wellness practitioners

Practice Better homepage for wellness and nutrition practitioners
Practice Better's homepage in October 2026.

Some yoga teachers also practise as nutrition or wellness professionals and keep charts on their clients. Practice Better is practice-management software for that kind of practitioner: scheduling, telehealth, charting, billing, programs and a client portal.

As listed in October 2026, Sprout is $0 for 3 clients and 100 MB. Starter is $35/mo ($25/mo annually) for 10 clients, Professional $69/mo ($59/mo annually) for 300 clients, Plus $99/mo ($89/mo annually) for unlimited clients, and Team $155/mo ($145/mo annually) with 2 practitioners. Trials run 30 days on Team and 14 days on other paid plans. Payments run through Practice Better Payments, powered by Stripe; no platform fee is stated.

The catch is where features sit. Evergreen programs, portal branding, a custom URL and SMS start on Plus, so a teacher who wants a self-paced program and their own branding pays $99/mo even with 15 students. There is no website builder or funnel pages according to our older profile of the tool, and only one practitioner per account below Team. Trustpilot shows 3.8 from 87 reviews (seen October 2026).

Pick it over Coachful if you chart clients as a wellness or nutrition practitioner, need telehealth and charting more than a website and community, and your yoga teaching is a smaller part of the practice.

6. Acuity Scheduling: booking only, on a site you already have

Acuity Scheduling homepage showing its appointment booking tool
Acuity Scheduling's homepage in October 2026.

Acuity Scheduling, owned by Squarespace, is appointment scheduling with intake forms, packages and memberships. If your answers were "I already have a website and email" and "I only need people to book", it is the lightest option here.

Starter is $20/mo ($16/mo annually) with one calendar, Standard $34/mo ($27/mo annually) with up to 6 calendars, and Premium $69/mo ($55/mo annually) with up to 36 calendars, as listed in October 2026. Every plan has a 7-day free trial with no card. Acuity adds no fee of its own on payments; your Stripe, Square, PayPal or Venmo rates apply. Text reminders start on Standard, and a HIPAA BAA is only on Premium.

Everything after the booking happens elsewhere. There is no client portal for programs, habits, check-ins or messaging, no courses, no community, no website builder and no email marketing. A teacher with a membership and recorded classes will add a course tool, an email tool and a community tool, which is how a $20 booking tool becomes a four-subscription stack. Trustpilot shows 3.6 from 687 reviews (seen October 2026). Our page on scheduling software shows what booking looks like when it is connected to delivery.

Pick it over Coachful if you have a site and email list you are happy with, teach live only, and want the cheapest possible booking layer.

7. Paperbell: simple admin for private-session teachers

Paperbell homepage introducing its all-in-one admin tool for coaches
Paperbell's homepage in October 2026.

Private yoga, where a student buys a package of sessions with you, is a different business from group classes. Paperbell is an all-in-one admin tool for solo coaches built around that model: booking, packages, payments, contracts, a client portal and a simple website.

Paperbell has one plan at $97/mo ($80.83/mo billed annually), with unlimited clients, sessions, files and packages, as listed in October 2026. There is a 30-day money-back guarantee; the trial length is not on the pricing page, and its help center described a 7-day trial in July 2026. Paperbell adds no transaction fees; Stripe and PayPal fees apply.

For group teachers, the limits bite. Our older profile notes no courses, no community and no goal or habit tracking, and there is no native mobile app, so students use a mobile browser. A recorded class library or a six-week program with daily practice would need other tools. Trustpilot shows 3.5 from 14 reviews (seen October 2026).

Pick it over Coachful if you teach private sessions only, sell them as packages, and want the simplest admin with a single flat price that never changes with student numbers.

8. Thinkific: a course catalogue with communities attached

Thinkific homepage promoting its online course and community platform
Thinkific's homepage in October 2026.

Thinkific is a course platform with communities, memberships and coaching or webinar products. It fits a teacher planning a large catalogue of recorded courses (prenatal, mobility, a teacher-training module).

Start is $109/mo ($82/mo annually) as listed in October 2026, for up to 10,000 current students, 2 admins, one community with 10 spaces, 5 live community events and a maximum group size of 50. Grow is $219/mo ($164/mo annually). Thinkific raised prices by about 10% on August 13, 2026. There is a 30-day free trial on every self-serve plan. Thinkific charges no transaction fee with Thinkific Payments, which it describes as in line with other processors at 2.9%; third-party Stripe or PayPal gateways carry an extra gateway fee that the page does not quantify.

There is no built-in 1:1 scheduling (our older profile notes coaching relies on external booking links), no client habits or daily check-ins, and a branded mobile app is a $199/mo add-on. Trustpilot shows 1.8 from 868 reviews (seen October 2026). For a side-by-side of course tools, see our online course platform comparison or the course platform page.

Pick it over Coachful if recorded courses are your whole business, you expect thousands of students, and live classes and home-practice tracking are not part of the offer.

9. Skool: the cheapest community with a classroom

Skool homepage showing its community, classroom and calendar product
Skool's homepage in October 2026.

Skool combines a community, a classroom and a calendar in one group, with gamified leaderboards. It is quick to set up and inexpensive to start.

Hobby is $9/mo ($7.50/mo annually) and Pro is $99/mo ($82.50/mo annually), both with unlimited members, courses, videos and live calls, as listed in October 2026. The fees are the real price: Hobby takes 10% + 30¢ on every transaction, and Pro takes 2.9% + 30¢ up to $899 and 3.9% + 30¢ above $900. Payments only run through Skool Payments, and fees are non-refundable. The trial length and card requirement were not stated on the pricing page when we checked.

There is no custom-domain website, no funnels, no email automation and no public API, and there are no 1:1 client records, intake forms, habits or check-ins. That last point matters for yoga: without an intake form you will need another way to ask about injuries and pregnancy before someone joins. Trustpilot shows 1.6 from 54 reviews (seen October 2026). Our list of online coaching communities compares more options.

Pick it over Coachful if you want a community with a classroom running today for the lowest monthly fee, your revenue is small enough that a 10% cut is cheaper than a higher plan, and you do not need a website or intake forms.

10. Systeme.io: free funnels and email for testing demand

Systeme.io homepage promoting its funnels, email and course suite
Systeme.io's homepage in October 2026.

Before you build a membership, it is worth finding out whether anyone wants it. Systeme.io is a low-cost marketing suite with funnels, email, courses, a community, a blog and an affiliate program, and its free plan is a reasonable place to test a free class sign-up.

The Free plan costs $0 and never expires, with 2,000 contacts, 3 funnels, 1 course, 500 students, 1 blog, a custom domain, 1 automation rule and 1 email campaign. Startup is $17/mo, Webinar $47/mo and Unlimited $97/mo, as listed in October 2026. Systeme.io charges 0% transaction fees on every plan, including Free; Stripe or PayPal processing applies. Trustpilot shows 4.9 from 8,696 reviews (seen October 2026).

It is a marketing tool rather than a teaching tool. Our older profile notes no native 1:1 scheduling with client records, habits or check-ins, basic course and community features, and no branded mobile app. Once students start booking classes, you will add a scheduling tool, and once you want to see who practised, you will need something else again.

Pick it over Coachful if you have no budget yet, want to validate demand with a no-cost funnel and an email list, and are willing to move to a fuller platform once paying students arrive.

Which features does each tool cover?

Coachful is the only tool here that marks "Yes" across every column. "Partial" means the feature exists with limits, only on higher plans, or through events rather than proper booking; "Not listed" means the vendor's public pages do not describe it.

What does each tool cost at 5, 15 and 40 students?

At 15 students, most single-purpose tools look cheap until you add the other tools you need, and the fee-based ones grow with every membership you sell. The table shows each tool's monthly list price (monthly billing, October 2026) for the plan that fits each student count.

Systeme.io$0 (Free)$0$0Booking and practice tracking need other tools

An illustrative example shows why fees matter. Say 15 students each pay a $100 monthly membership, so $1,500 a month comes in. On Skool Hobby, the 10% + 30¢ fee is $154.50 a month, plus the $9 plan, so roughly $163.50 goes to the platform. On Mighty Networks Launch, the 2% fee adds $30 to the $95 plan before Stripe processing. On Kajabi Basic with Kajabi Payments, processing of 2.9% + $0.30 per payment comes to $48 on top of the $179 plan. Coachful takes no platform fee on sales, so your cost there is the flat plan plus Stripe or Razorpay processing. The example numbers are for illustration only; plug in your own prices.

For pricing your classes in the first place, our guide to app-only versus live-call tiers walks through how to set tiers by how much live time each includes.

How would you set up an online yoga business in Coachful?

Here is the example teacher from our ranking, set up step by step. Work through it in order; the website and funnel steps can go to the white-glove team instead.

Coachful's course builder and check-in flows on a desk beside yoga blocks and a strap
Coachful's course builder and the morning and evening check-in flows, on a desk beside foam blocks and a yoga strap.
  1. Website. Pick a homepage template such as Sanctuary, or request the site through the white-glove build with your photos, bio and class list attached. Add pages for your timetable, your six-week program and your membership.
  2. Payments. Connect your own Stripe account. Create a monthly membership as a subscription, a ten-class pack as session credits, and the six-week program as a one-time purchase or payment plan.
  3. Classes. Create a group session type for each live class with built-in video or an auto-created Zoom link, and a 1:1 session type for privates. Add intake questions about injuries, pregnancy and health conditions to the booking form, and turn on reminders.
  4. Agreement. Set up your agreement (terms and cancellation policy) so it goes out for e-signature before the first class. Have an attorney check the wording for where you teach.
  5. Program. Build the six-week foundations program: a weekly goal (for example, "hold a comfortable low lunge for five breaths"), a short daily sequence as a task, a breathing habit, and morning and evening check-ins. Enrollment creates the cohort group.
  6. Library. Upload your recorded classes into a course with modules by style or length, and drip new classes weekly for members.
  7. Welcome. Write a three-email sequence for free-class sign-ups (Michelle can draft it from your offer) and connect it to a lead-magnet funnel.

What the student experiences: they find your site, sign up for a free class and get the welcome emails. They book a class in their own time zone, answer the health questions, sign your terms and pay with Apple Pay. A reminder arrives the day before and an hour before. Between classes they open your branded app to see today's ten-minute sequence, tick off their breathing habit and answer an evening check-in, and you see on their record whether they are thriving or going quiet. One login for them, one for you. If you are moving existing in-person students across, read how to move in-person clients online and running hybrid classes.

What red flags and switching costs should you watch for?

The biggest risks are fees that scale with your income, limits that force a plan jump, and memberships that are hard to move once students are paying. Check these before you commit.

  • Revenue share. Skool Hobby takes 10% + 30¢ per sale, Mighty Networks 0.5% to 2%, and Kajabi adds up to 2% if you use another processor. A fee that is trivial at five students is a real cost at forty.
  • Locked payments. Skool only works with Skool Payments. When recurring memberships live inside a vendor's own processor, moving platforms can mean asking every student to re-enter their card. With your own Stripe account, the billing relationship stays yours.
  • Features on the next tier. Practice Better puts evergreen programs and branding on Plus; Acuity puts text reminders on Standard; Thinkific charges extra for a branded app; Kajabi Basic caps you at five products. Price the plan you will need in six months, not the one you start on.
  • Stack creep. A booking tool, a course tool, an email tool and a community tool each look cheap. Together they are four logins for you and three for your students, and the student who misses a class has no one place where you can see it.
  • Data you cannot take with you. Ask how you export students, notes and history. Coachful exports your full client data as a ZIP (roster, notes, check-ins, goals, habits, sessions and form responses) and exports courses; when you join, clients, programs and content are imported for you during onboarding.
  • Video re-uploads. Whatever you choose, keep original files of every recorded class. Re-uploading a library is the slowest part of any move.

Stay inside your scope. Teaching yoga is not medical treatment, and neither is coaching. The National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health says yoga is "generally considered a safe form of physical activity for healthy people when performed properly, under the guidance of a qualified instructor," and that pregnant women, older adults and people with health conditions should talk with their health care providers and the instructor about their needs (NCCIH). Ask about injuries and conditions before the first class, modify for them, and refer students to a doctor or physiotherapist when pain, a new symptom or a medical question comes up. Do not promise to treat or cure anything. Our online emergency plan covers what to do if someone is hurt during a live class.

Business basics. Choose a business structure, check which licenses and permits apply where you live, and consider insurance; the U.S. Small Business Administration covers business structures, licenses and permits and business insurance. In the US, self-employment tax is 15.3% and applies once net self-employment earnings reach $400 (IRS). If you publish student testimonials, the FTC's rule on consumer reviews and testimonials bans fake reviews. Rules vary by country and state, so check with an accountant or attorney.

Which tool should a new online yoga teacher choose?

Choose Coachful if you want to teach live classes and also guide students' practice between them, without stitching four tools together. It books classes and privates, sells memberships, class packs and programs through your own Stripe account with no platform fee, hosts your recorded library, runs the community and publishes your website and emails. The free white-glove build removes most of the setup work, and the trial lets you test the student experience before you pay.

The others are good at narrower jobs. Kajabi and Thinkific suit large recorded catalogues; Momence suits studio-style timetables; Mighty Networks and Skool suit community-first offers; Practice Better suits practitioners who chart; Acuity and Paperbell suit booking and private sessions; Systeme.io suits testing demand for free. Coachful is for coaches and teachers who deliver programs, not just sessions; it is not built for clinical records, PayPal-only businesses or a course marketplace. To start, take the trial and request the white-glove build for your site and first funnel. For a broader launch plan, see starting an online personal training business or Coachful's coaching software overview.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a business license to teach yoga online?

It depends on where you live and how you structure the business. The U.S. Small Business Administration explains that licensing requirements vary by industry, state and locality, and lists how to check them. Check your local requirements and confirm with an accountant or attorney.

Can I sell a monthly yoga membership in Coachful?

Yes. You create the membership as a subscription paid through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account, and you can add session credits for class packs, coupons and payment plans. Coachful takes no platform fee on those sales; only processing fees apply.

How do I run live classes in Coachful?

Create a group session type or event, then choose Coachful's built-in video or an auto-created Zoom, Google Meet or Teams link. Students book in their own time zone and get email reminders, plus SMS and WhatsApp reminders once messaging is enabled.

Do I have to film all my yoga videos myself?

Yes. Coachful has no stock exercise videos, so your library is your own recorded classes, uploaded into courses with modules and drip release. You can attach your own demo videos to exercises in the Fitness & Nutrition pack's workout builder.

What is Coachful's free white-glove service?

From Create, you can ask the Coachful team to build a website, funnel, sales page, program, course outline, email sequence and more inside your account, usually within about 24 hours. You attach up to 8 links and 10 files, and nothing is invented: gaps are left for you. It does not include filming, logo design or ads.

Is Coachful HIPAA compliant?

No. Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and does not sign a BAA, so it is not suitable for clinical records or insurance billing. Teachers who keep clinical charts should look at a practice-management tool such as Practice Better.

What is the cheapest way to start an online yoga business?

Systeme.io's Free plan and Practice Better's Sprout plan cost $0 with limits, and Skool Hobby is $9/mo plus 10% + 30¢ per sale, as listed in October 2026. Those prices exclude the other tools you will add for booking or practice tracking. Compare the total stack, not one subscription.

How should I handle students with injuries or who are pregnant?

Ask about injuries, pregnancy and health conditions before the first class, through intake questions on your booking form. NCCIH advises that pregnant women, older adults and people with health conditions talk with their health care providers and the instructor about their needs. Refer anyone with pain or medical questions to a health professional.

Can several yoga teachers share one Coachful account?

Yes, on the team plans. Studio and Agency add coach seats with per-teacher availability and staff permissions, and multi-teacher session types can assign bookings round-robin or to the least-busy teacher. See Coachful for teams.
