MailerLite vs Systeme io: Which Fits Coaches in 2026?

MailerLite vs Systeme io comes down to one question: do you need a great email tool, or a cheap all-in-one sales machine? MailerLite is an email marketing platform with a website, landing page and booking builder attached. Systeme.io is a low-cost funnel, email, course and community suite with a free plan that covers 2,000 contacts. If your coaching business runs on a newsletter, pick MailerLite. If it runs on funnels and a self-paced course, pick Systeme.io. If it runs on clients you coach week to week, neither tool was built for that part, and that is where a coaching platform fits.
This guide compares both tools on what they list in October 2026: prices, limits, email, funnels, courses, booking, payments, data export and what your clients actually experience. We make Coachful, so we also explain honestly when Coachful beats both tools and when it does not. All vendor details come from each vendor's own pricing and help pages, checked in late October 2026. We have not run either account hands-on for this article; where we describe how a tool behaves, we say what the vendor documents or what public reviewers report.

What is the short answer by use case?
Choose by the job you need done most often, not by the longest feature list. Here is the quick version before the detail.
- You mostly send a newsletter and nurture sequences: MailerLite. Its editors, automations and segmentation are the core product, and its free plan is fine to start with up to 250 active subscribers.
- You sell a course or a low-ticket offer through funnels on a tight budget: Systeme.io. The free plan includes 3 funnels, 1 course, 2,000 contacts and 0% transaction fees.
- You have a list over 2,000 people but little money: Systeme.io's Startup plan at $17 a month covers 5,000 contacts, while MailerLite at 5,000 subscribers is $49 a month on Comfort.
- You run 1:1 sessions and want booking linked to your email list: MailerLite, because it has built-in Bookings with Google Calendar and Outlook sync. Systeme.io's pricing page does not list a booking calendar.
- You run multi-week programs with habits, check-ins and a client app: neither. Both stop at email, pages and course access. A coaching platform such as Coachful covers that delivery layer and also replaces the email and funnel tool.
How do MailerLite and Systeme.io compare side by side?
MailerLite is the stronger email tool; Systeme.io packs more selling features into a lower price. Coachful sits above both because it covers the coaching work that happens after someone buys.
We ranked on four criteria: one login for the whole client journey, between-session delivery, total stack cost, and setup effort (including whether someone builds it for you).
| Tool | Best for | Email marketing | Funnels and pages | Courses | Booking | Client delivery (habits, check-ins, app) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Coaches who deliver programs and want one login for marketing, selling and coaching | Lists, broadcasts, multi-step sequences with branching and A/B splits | Website builder with 30 homepage templates, booking, application, lead-magnet and checkout funnels | Modules, lessons, drip, completion tracking, 48 course templates | Booking pages, two-way calendar sync, built-in video or Zoom, Meet and Teams links | Yes: programs, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals, streaks, branded client app |
| MailerLite | Newsletter-led coaches who want polished email and simple pages | Core strength: drag and drop, custom HTML, automations, dynamic content, multivariate tests | Websites and landing pages (1 on Free, 10 on Comfort, unlimited on Power) | No hosted video courses; MailerLite says courses are typically hosted elsewhere and linked | Built-in Bookings for 1:1 and group sessions, Google Calendar and Outlook sync | No client portal, app, programs, habits or check-ins |
| Systeme.io | Budget course sellers and funnel builders | Unlimited emails, automation rules (1 on Free, unlimited on Unlimited) | Funnels (3 Free, 10 Startup, 50 Webinar, unlimited on Unlimited), blog, custom domain | 1 course on Free, 5 Startup, 20 Webinar, unlimited on Unlimited | Not listed on the pricing page | No habits or check-ins; no branded mobile app (September 2026 profile) |
One more data point that matters for trust: as listed in October 2026, Systeme.io shows a Trustpilot score of 4.9 from 8,696 reviews and MailerLite 4.1 from 3,391 reviews. Coachful shows 4.5 from 21 reviews, a much smaller sample. Ratings tell you about general satisfaction, not coaching fit, so weigh them alongside the feature gaps below.
How much do MailerLite and Systeme.io cost?
Systeme.io is cheaper once your list passes a few hundred people, because it prices by plan, not by list size. MailerLite starts lower for small lists but climbs with every subscriber tier.
MailerLite renamed its plans on June 16, 2026: Growing Business became Comfort and Advanced became Power, with new prices and limits. Older reviews quoting $10 and $20 or the old plan names are out of date. Systeme.io's monthly prices have not changed from earlier in 2026.
| Plan | Monthly price | Annual billing | Main limits | Transaction fee |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients | Flat monthly plans; monthly plans cancel in one click | Lower plans cap the number of clients; Pro is unlimited (Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients) | 0% platform fee; Stripe or Razorpay processing only |
| MailerLite Free | $0 | $0 | 250 active subscribers, 2,500 emails a month, 3 automations, 1 website and 1 landing page | 0% MailerLite commission |
| MailerLite Comfort | $12 (500 subscribers) | $10.80 a month, about $129.60 a year | Emails capped at 10x the subscriber tier, 50 automations, 10 sites and landing pages | 0% MailerLite commission |
| MailerLite Power | $25 (500 subscribers) | $22.50 a month, about $270 a year | Unlimited emails (fair use), automations, sites and bookings up to 200,000 subscribers | 0% MailerLite commission |
| Systeme.io Free | $0 | $0 | 2,000 contacts, 3 funnels, 1 course, 500 students, 1 automation rule | 0% |
| Systeme.io Startup | $17 | "2 months free" (about $170 a year) | 5,000 contacts, 10 funnels, 5 courses | 0% |
| Systeme.io Webinar | $47 | "2 months free" (about $470 a year) | 10,000 contacts, 50 funnels, 20 courses, evergreen webinars | 0% |
| Systeme.io Unlimited | $97 | "2 months free" (about $970 a year) | Unlimited contacts, funnels, courses and automation rules | 0% |
MailerLite's annual totals are our calculation (the per-month annual price times 12); MailerLite lists only the per-month figure. Systeme.io no longer prints yearly totals, so the annual figures above are our calculation from its "2 months free" offer and match the yearly prices it showed earlier in 2026. Systeme.io's page uses "$" without naming the currency. MailerLite publishes separate USD and EUR tables (for example Comfort at 500 subscribers is $12 or €11 a month).

How does MailerLite's price grow with your list?
MailerLite charges by active subscribers, and paid accounts that pass their tier are moved up and charged automatically. These are the monthly-billing prices it lists in October 2026, set against Systeme.io's flat plans and Coachful's client-based plans.
| List size | Coachful | MailerLite Comfort | MailerLite Power | Systeme.io (cheapest plan that fits) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Priced by coaching clients, not list size (Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients) | Not needed: email is included in your Coachful membership | Not needed | Not needed: funnels are included in your Coachful membership |
| 500 subscribers | See row above | $12 | $25 | Free ($0) |
| 1,000 subscribers | See row above | $19 | $39 | Free ($0) |
| 2,500 subscribers | See row above | $33 | $49 | Startup ($17) |
| 5,000 subscribers | See row above | $49 | $69 | Startup ($17) |
| 10,000 subscribers | See row above | $89 | $129 | Webinar ($47) |
At every list size above 250, Systeme.io costs less than MailerLite for email alone. MailerLite's case is quality of the email tooling, not price.

What does the whole stack cost a coach?
Neither tool covers everything a coach pays for, so compare the stack, not the single plan. Take an example coach with 1,000 subscribers, 12 private clients and one self-paced course:
- MailerLite route (example): Comfort at $19 a month for email, pages and bookings, plus a separate course host (MailerLite does not host video courses), plus a contract and e-signature tool, plus whatever you use for client check-ins and habits.
- Systeme.io route (example): the free plan covers email, funnels and the course, plus a separate booking tool, plus contracts, plus client check-ins.
- Coachful route (example): one membership for email, funnels, website, booking, payments, contracts, the course and client delivery. Current plans: Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients.
Price each add-on tool yourself on its own site before deciding; the numbers move often. Read our full Systeme.io pricing breakdown if Systeme.io is the frontrunner.
Which is better for email marketing?
MailerLite is the better email tool. Systeme.io's email is good enough for broadcasts and simple sequences, but MailerLite offers more control over design, testing and automation.

MailerLite lists drag and drop, a Simple editor and a custom HTML editor on every plan, including Free. Comfort adds unlimited templates, dynamic content, multivariate testing, auto-resend, a preference center and an AI writing assistant. Power adds multiple automation triggers per workflow. Automations are capped at 3 active workflows with 5 steps each on Free, 50 with 100 steps on Comfort, and unlimited on Power. Surveys and quizzes, pop-ups and embedded forms are on every plan.
Systeme.io includes unlimited emails on every plan, even Free. The limit sits on automation rules: 1 rule and 1 email campaign on the free plan, unlimited automation rules only on the Unlimited plan. Systeme.io's automations tie into its funnels and courses (for example, tag a contact when they buy and enroll them in a course), which is convenient when everything already lives there.
Two practical notes. MailerLite's free plan locks campaign and automation sending once you pass 250 active subscribers, so a growing list forces an upgrade quickly. And email deliverability depends on your list hygiene and domain setup as much as on the tool; MailerLite offers a dedicated IP as an add-on (price not published).
In Coachful, email lists, broadcasts and multi-step sequences with triggers, delays, branching and A/B splits are included in your Coachful membership, and the sequences can react to what clients do in your programs, not only to what they click.
Which is better for funnels, websites and landing pages?
Systeme.io is the funnel tool; MailerLite is the page tool. If you think in steps (opt-in, thank-you page, order form, upsell), Systeme.io fits. If you need a tidy site and a few landing pages, MailerLite is enough.

Systeme.io's plans are built around funnel counts: 3 on Free, 10 on Startup, 50 on Webinar and unlimited on Unlimited. Every plan includes a blog and a custom domain, and the free plan includes one affiliate program, which is rare at that price. The Webinar plan adds evergreen webinars, a common funnel for coaches selling a signature program.
MailerLite gives you one website and one landing page on Free, 10 websites and landing pages on Comfort, and unlimited on Power. Websites include a blog section. Comfort removes the MailerLite logo and adds custom domains. It is a capable builder for a small coaching site, but it is not a funnel engine with order bumps and upsell steps.
Coachful's section-based website builder includes a blog, custom domain, SEO settings and 30 designed homepage templates, plus booking, application, lead-magnet and checkout funnels with pixel and UTM tracking. See the coach website builder page for details.

Which is better for courses and digital products?
Systeme.io, clearly. It hosts courses; MailerLite does not host video courses at all.
Systeme.io includes 1 course and 500 students on Free, 5 courses on Startup, 20 on Webinar and unlimited on Unlimited. The September 2026 profile we keep describes its course and community features as basic: fine for a self-paced course, light for a cohort that needs discussion and accountability.
MailerLite sells digital downloads, paid newsletters and recurring subscriptions with 0% MailerLite commission, through Stripe. Paid newsletters and recurring subscriptions need Comfort or Power, and the free plan allows only one active digital product or booking. MailerLite's own page says video courses "would typically be hosted elsewhere and linked", so a coach with a course would pay for a second platform.
Coachful's courses include modules, lessons, drip, completion tracking and 48 course templates with quizzes, and the course lives in the same branded client home as the client's program. Our course platform for coaches page shows how that works.

Which handles booking and sessions better?
MailerLite, because it has a booking tool and Systeme.io's pricing page lists none. For a coach doing paid discovery calls, that alone can decide it.
MailerLite Bookings covers 1:1 and group sessions, free or paid through Stripe, with Google Calendar and Outlook or Microsoft 365 sync. Booking questions save to the subscriber profile, so you can segment by what people told you. The free plan allows one active event type, shared with the digital-product limit; Comfort allows five products and bookings combined, Power unlimited.
Systeme.io's October 2026 pricing page does not list a booking calendar, and our September 2026 profile notes no native 1:1 scheduling tied to client records. Coaches on Systeme.io typically embed an external booking tool. If booking matters, check Systeme.io's current feature list before you commit, since features change.
Coachful's booking pages add availability rules, buffers, minimum notice and time-zone detection, two-way Google, Apple/iCloud and Outlook sync, built-in video or auto-created Zoom, Meet and Teams links, paid sessions and session credits, and intake questions. Reminders go by email, plus SMS 24 hours and WhatsApp 1 hour before once messaging is enabled. More on our scheduling software page.

How do payments, fees and data export compare?
All three take 0% of your sales; you pay only the payment processor. The differences are which processors you can use and how much data you can take with you.
- Systeme.io: 0% transaction fees on all plans, with Stripe and PayPal. Contacts export to CSV via an emailed link valid for 3 days; the September 2026 profile notes that courses and pages cannot be bulk-exported.
- MailerLite: 0% MailerLite commission on digital products, paid newsletters, subscriptions and bookings, with Stripe only (Shopify and WooCommerce integrations for e-commerce). Subscribers export as CSV from the Subscribers page by admins; only visible columns export and subscriber notes cannot be exported. Custom report exports need a paid plan.
- Coachful: 0% platform fee since August 2026, payments through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account, with one-time payments, subscriptions, payment plans, order bumps, coupons, refunds, Apple Pay and Google Pay, and Stripe Tax. No PayPal. Full client data export as a ZIP (roster, notes, check-ins, goals, habits, sessions, form responses) plus course export.
If PayPal matters to your buyers, Systeme.io is the only one of the three that supports it.
What is the client experience like in each?
With MailerLite or Systeme.io, your client experiences emails, pages and (on Systeme.io) a course area. Neither gives a coaching client a place to see their plan, log habits or check in with you between sessions.
MailerLite's client touchpoints are email, forms, surveys and quizzes. There is no client portal, client app, coaching program, habit tracking or check-in. Systeme.io adds a course member area and a community, but the September 2026 profile notes no branded mobile app, and nothing in its plans covers per-client goals, habits or check-ins.
That gap is the coaching itself. A coach running client work on either tool usually has to add a scheduling app, a contract tool, a spreadsheet of client notes and a messaging app. Every extra login is another place a client can drop off.
In Coachful, a client opens one branded app and sees their next session, their program week, daily tasks, habits with streaks, morning and evening check-ins and the course they bought. You see the same data on the client record, with a status of thriving, active, quiet or at risk.

Which should you pick for which kind of coach?
Match the tool to how you earn. This table sums it up.
| Your coaching business | Best fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Coachful: programs, 1:1 or group clients, plus marketing | Coachful | One login covers email, funnels, booking, payments, contracts, courses and between-session delivery |
| Newsletter first, few clients, small list | MailerLite | Best email tooling of the two and a free plan up to 250 subscribers |
| Self-paced course and low-ticket funnels, little budget | Systeme.io | Free plan with funnels, a course and 2,000 contacts; 0% fees; PayPal |
| Paid discovery calls feeding an email list | MailerLite (or Coachful) | MailerLite has built-in Bookings; Systeme.io does not list one |
| Evergreen webinar selling a signature program | Systeme.io Webinar (or Coachful) | Evergreen webinars and 50 funnels on one plan |
| Large list over 10,000, mostly marketing | Systeme.io | Flat price; MailerLite scales with every tier |

Is there a third option that beats both?
Yes, if you coach clients over weeks or months. Coachful replaces MailerLite or Systeme.io for marketing and adds the coaching delivery both of them lack. If you only sell a course or a newsletter, it is more than you need.

What Coachful is. Coachful is a coaching platform. One subscription covers booking, payments, contracts, program delivery with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant, with one login for the coach and one branded app for the client. The company is based in Tallinn, Estonia.
Who it is for. Coaches who deliver programs, not just sessions; solo coaches growing into a small team; coaches replacing 4 to 6 tools. Coaches just starting out can look at Coachful for new coaches.
Where it beats both MailerLite and Systeme.io:
- Multi-week programs with weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars and streaks.
- Coaching agreements with e-signature sent before the first call and stored on the client record.
- A client record with goals, check-ins, habits, notes, intake answers, tags, payments, sessions and an AI briefing per client.
- Community feed, group chat, direct messages and video events, with cohort groups created automatically when someone enrolls in a program.
- Michelle, the built-in AI assistant, works from your live practice data: it builds programs, drafts emails and content, summarizes recorded sessions and briefs you before sessions. Questions and planning are included in your Coachful membership; confirmed builds and changes use AI credits.
- ICF credential tracking that counts coaching hours and distinct clients against ACC, PCC and MCC thresholds and exports an ICF client coaching log.
- A social planner for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Threads and YouTube, and Instagram automations that DM a booking link or lead magnet when someone comments a keyword.

Here is a short walkthrough of how programs are built and delivered in Coachful:
Where MailerLite or Systeme.io is the better pick:
- You want a plan that costs nothing forever. MailerLite and Systeme.io both offer one; Coachful offers a trial, then paid plans only.
- You need PayPal. Coachful supports Stripe and Razorpay only; Systeme.io supports PayPal.
- You run a newsletter business or a course-only business with no ongoing clients. A dedicated email or funnel tool is simpler and cheaper.
- Your list is very large and you coach few people one to one. Systeme.io's flat Unlimited plan is built for that.
What Coachful does not do. It is not HIPAA-certified and offers no BAA, so clinical records and insurance billing belong in a clinical system. The client app ships under the Coachful listing with your branding, not under your own App Store account. There is no multi-stage sales deal board for large teams, no Salesforce or HubSpot integration, no third-party plugins, and it is not a course marketplace. The affiliate program tracks links, clicks, conversions and revenue, but payouts are recorded manually rather than sent by Coachful.
Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. On every plan, you can ask the Coachful team to build things for you from Create > We'll build it for you · FREE: a website, a funnel, a sales page, a program, a course outline and written material, an email sequence, a link in bio, a lead quiz, a webinar page or an automation. You attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files (logos, photos, brand guides, copy), and the team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours. Nothing gets invented: no fake credentials, testimonials or prices, and gaps are left for you to fill. It does not include recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing. For example, a business mentor for beauty professionals got a 12-week mentorship sales page, a free start-up-guide funnel and rewritten follow-up emails. Read more about the free white-glove service.

How to start. Start a free trial, then request a white-glove build of your website or first funnel. Clients, programs and content are imported for you during onboarding, so moving off MailerLite or Systeme.io does not mean starting from a blank page. Current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients. If Systeme.io is what you are leaving, the Systeme.io alternative page covers the switch, and our comparison hub lists every head-to-head.

How do you move from MailerLite or Systeme.io without losing anything?
Export your contacts first, then rebuild the pieces that do not export. Both tools let you take your list; neither lets you take everything.
- Export contacts. In MailerLite, export subscribers as CSV from the Subscribers page (make the columns you need visible first, since only visible columns export, and copy subscriber notes by hand). In Systeme.io, export contacts to CSV and download the emailed link within 3 days.
- List your live assets. Write down every funnel, landing page, automation, course and booking type that earns money or brings leads. Courses and pages on Systeme.io cannot be bulk-exported, so plan to rebuild them.
- Keep consent records. Keep the export with signup dates and sources so you can show how each subscriber opted in.
- Rebuild the earners first. Move the funnel or page that brings most leads, then the welcome sequence, then the rest.
- Run both in parallel for one billing cycle. Cancel the old tool only once the new pages and automations have run correctly.
Our Systeme.io review covers its export limits in more detail.
What is our verdict on MailerLite vs Systeme.io?
For pure email, MailerLite wins. For a cheap funnel and course stack, Systeme.io wins. For a coach whose income comes from clients in programs, both leave the most important part (delivery between sessions) to other tools.
If you are a newsletter-led coach with a small list and occasional calls, MailerLite's free or Comfort plan is a sensible, low-risk choice. If you sell a course through funnels and want to spend as little as possible, Systeme.io's free plan is hard to beat. If you coach people over weeks and are tired of stitching email, booking, contracts and check-ins together, Coachful covers all of it in one login, and the team will build your site or first funnel for you at no extra cost.
Frequently asked questions
Is MailerLite or Systeme.io cheaper for coaches?
Systeme.io is cheaper once your list passes 250 subscribers. Its free plan covers 2,000 contacts and its Startup plan covers 5,000 for $17 a month, while MailerLite's Comfort plan is $49 a month at 5,000 subscribers as listed in October 2026. MailerLite is only cheaper if you stay under 250 active subscribers on its free plan.
Does Systeme.io have appointment booking like MailerLite?
Systeme.io's October 2026 pricing page does not list a booking calendar, and the profile we keep from September 2026 notes no native 1:1 scheduling tied to client records. MailerLite has built-in Bookings for 1:1 and group sessions with calendar sync. Check Systeme.io's current feature list if booking is essential.
Can I host an online course on MailerLite?
Not as a hosted video course. MailerLite sells digital downloads, paid newsletters and subscriptions, but its own page says video courses would typically be hosted elsewhere and linked. Systeme.io and Coachful both host courses.
Which has better email automation?
MailerLite. It offers 50 automations with 100 steps each on Comfort and unlimited on Power, plus dynamic content, multivariate testing and multiple triggers on Power. Systeme.io's free plan allows one automation rule; unlimited rules need the Unlimited plan.
Do MailerLite or Systeme.io take a cut of sales?
No. Both list 0% commission or transaction fees; you pay only the processor. MailerLite uses Stripe, and Systeme.io supports Stripe and PayPal.
Can I use MailerLite and Systeme.io together?
You can, for example Systeme.io for funnels and courses and MailerLite for the newsletter, but you then manage two lists, two sets of automations and two bills. One marketing tool, plus whatever you need for client delivery, is simpler to run.
Is Coachful a replacement for MailerLite or Systeme.io?
For most coaches, yes. Coachful includes email lists, broadcasts and sequences, a website builder and funnels, and adds booking, contracts, programs, habits, check-ins and a branded client app. It is not the right choice if you need a permanent free plan, PayPal, or only run a newsletter.
What is Coachful's free white-glove service?
It is a build service included on every Coachful plan. You describe what you want (a website, funnel, program, course outline, email sequence and more), attach references and files, and the Coachful team builds it inside your account, usually within about 24 hours. It does not invent testimonials or credentials, and it does not cover video recording, logo design or ads.
Is Coachful HIPAA-compliant for health coaches?
No. Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and does not sign a BAA, so clinical records and insurance billing should stay in a clinical system. Coaching is not medical treatment; refer clients to a qualified professional when a concern goes beyond coaching.
