Flodesk vs Systeme io for Coaches: Honest 2026 Comparison

Flodesk vs Systeme io for Coaches: Honest 2026 Comparison

In the flodesk vs systeme io decision, the honest answer for most coaches is this: Flodesk is the better pick if your business runs on beautiful emails and a simple sales page, and Systeme.io is the better pick if you want funnels, a course and an affiliate program for very little money. Neither one books your sessions, keeps a client record or delivers a coaching program between calls. That gap matters more for coaches than for most online businesses, so this comparison covers both tools on price, email, funnels, courses, checkout and the client experience, and then looks at a third option built for coaching.

Every vendor price below is as listed on the vendor's own pricing page in October 2026. Where a fact comes from our earlier September 2026 profile of a tool, we say so. We have not run either product hands-on for this article; we describe what the vendors document and what public reviewers report.

What is the short answer for Flodesk vs Systeme io?

Pick by the job you need the tool to do. Flodesk is an email marketing tool first, with forms, landing pages and a checkout added on. Systeme.io is a low-cost marketing suite with funnels, email, courses, a blog and an affiliate program in one account.

  • You mainly send a weekly newsletter and want it to look polished: Flodesk. Its templates and design tools are the reason people choose it.
  • You want to launch a lead magnet, a sales funnel and a small course on a tight budget: Systeme.io. The free plan alone covers 3 funnels, 1 course and 2,000 contacts.
  • You sell a single digital product or a low-ticket offer from Instagram: either works. Flodesk keeps it prettier; Systeme.io keeps it cheaper.
  • You need PayPal: Systeme.io. Flodesk checkout runs on Stripe only.
  • You coach clients 1:1 or in groups and need booking, contracts, check-ins and a client portal: neither. You would bolt three or four more tools onto either one, which is where Coachful comes in.

If you already know you are leaning one way, our deeper pieces cover each tool alone: the Flodesk review and the Systeme.io review.

How do Flodesk and Systeme.io compare side by side?

Flodesk wins on email design and simplicity; Systeme.io wins on breadth and price; neither covers client delivery. We rank on what decides a coaching business: one login for the whole client journey, between-session delivery, total stack cost, and setup effort (including a free white-glove build).

On public reviews, Systeme.io shows 4.9 on Trustpilot from 8,696 reviews and Flodesk shows 4.8 from 321 reviews, both seen on October 25, 2026. Coachful shows 4.5 from 21 reviews. Review scores tell you people are happy with what each tool sets out to do; they do not tell you whether it covers coaching delivery.

How much do Flodesk and Systeme.io cost in 2026?

Systeme.io is cheaper at almost every size, because its price is flat by plan, while Flodesk's price rises with your active subscriber count. Flodesk also cannot send any email on its free plan, while Systeme.io's free plan sends email.

How Flodesk pricing works now

Flodesk moved to subscriber-based pricing. The figures above are base prices for up to 1,000 subscribers, and only active subscribers count toward the slider. Annual billing gives you "1 month free". The old flat-rate plan was retired for new members on December 2, 2025; existing members keep it, so a friend's older Flodesk price may not be the one you get. At the very top of its slider, Pro on monthly billing reaches about $1,589 a month, which shows how much the price can climb as a list grows. There is a 14-day free trial with no credit card required. We break every tier down in our Flodesk pricing guide.

Two details matter for coaches. First, the plan that sells programs properly is Everything, because unlimited checkouts, sales pages, subscriptions and payment plans sit there. Pro's single checkout is described as a limited-time bonus. Second, Flodesk's free plan is a design sandbox: you can build forms and pages and collect subscribers, but you cannot email them until you pay.

How Systeme.io pricing works now

Systeme.io prices by plan, not by list size within a plan. Monthly prices are unchanged at $17, $47 and $97. Annual billing is advertised as "2 months free", and the yearly totals are no longer printed; our September 2026 profile recorded $170, $470 and $970 a year. The page shows "$" without naming a currency. The free plan never expires and needs no credit card, and Systeme.io charges 0% transaction fees on every plan, including Free. Note one change since our profile: the Startup plan now shows a cap of 10 funnels and 5 courses, where it previously appeared unlimited. Our Systeme.io pricing guide has the full history.

A worked example: what a coach actually pays

Here is an illustrative example, not a quote. Say you are a coach with 800 subscribers who sells a 12-week group program and wants a payment plan option.

  • Flodesk route: you need Everything for payment plans and sales pages, so $54 a month (or $49 billed annually), plus Stripe processing on every sale.
  • Systeme.io route: the free plan may technically cover the funnel and course, but with 1 automation rule you will likely move to Startup at $17 a month.
  • Combined route: some coaches run both, Flodesk for newsletters and Systeme.io for the course, which is $71 a month on monthly billing before anything else.

None of those routes includes a booking tool, a contract tool or a client portal. Add those and a typical coach stack grows to four to six subscriptions. That is the comparison worth making against an all-in-one coaching platform, and we come back to it below.

Which is better for email marketing?

Flodesk is the better email designer; Systeme.io is the better email deal. If your emails are a big part of your brand, Flodesk's templates are the stronger reason to pay. If you just need emails to go out reliably at a low cost, Systeme.io gives you unlimited emails even on the free plan.

Flodesk built its reputation on email that looks like a magazine spread: image-led templates and a visual editor aimed at people who are not designers. Paid plans include unlimited sends. Automation is where the tiers bite: Lite includes a single workflow as a limited-time bonus, while Pro and Everything include unlimited workflows and advanced analytics. Pro also lets you hide the Flodesk footer. A dedicated IP is offered as an add-on on Pro and Everything, with no price shown. Segmentation is included even on the free plan.

Systeme.io treats email as one part of a funnel. You get email campaigns and automation rules that sit alongside your funnels and courses. On the free plan you are limited to 1 automation rule and 1 email campaign, which is enough to test the idea but not to run a real nurture sequence. Paid plans lift those limits, and Unlimited removes the cap on automation rules entirely. Systeme.io does not sell itself on email design the way Flodesk does.

Whichever tool you choose, the legal basics are the same. In the United States, the FTC's CAN-SPAM compliance guide requires a working unsubscribe link, a real postal address and honest subject lines. Both tools handle unsubscribe links for you; the postal address and honest subject lines are on you. If you are comparing Flodesk against another email specialist, see Flodesk vs ConvertKit.

Which is better for funnels, landing pages and sales pages?

Systeme.io is the stronger funnel builder by a clear margin. Funnels are its core product and appear on every plan, while Flodesk only adds sales pages and funnels on its top Everything plan.

Systeme.io homepage promoting its all-in-one marketing platform
Systeme.io's homepage in October 2026.

Systeme.io builds funnels as sequences of pages, such as an opt-in page, a sales page and a thank-you page, inside the same account as your email and courses. The caps are by count: 3 funnels free, 10 on Startup, 50 on Webinar and unlimited on Unlimited. The Webinar plan adds evergreen webinars, which a coach could run as an always-on discovery event. A blog and a custom domain come with the free plan. If funnels are your main concern, our Systeme.io vs ClickFunnels comparison goes deeper.

Flodesk gives you unlimited forms, landing pages and link-in-bio pages on every plan, including Free. That is generous for list building. But sales pages and multi-step funnels belong to Everything, together with abandoned-cart automations. For a coach whose funnel is "Instagram bio link, freebie, nurture emails, sales page", Flodesk Everything handles the whole path in one good-looking place. For several funnels at once, or a webinar step, Systeme.io is more flexible.

Neither tool is a full website builder in the way a coaching site usually needs one, with About, Work With Me, Results and Contact pages under one domain. Systeme.io gets closer, with a blog and custom domain. Flodesk is closer to a landing page tool.

Can either tool sell courses, memberships or a community?

Systeme.io can; Flodesk cannot. Systeme.io includes courses on every plan and a basic community, while Flodesk has no course portal or community at all.

Systeme.io's free plan includes 1 course and up to 500 students. Startup allows 5 courses and Webinar 20. You can sell access through a funnel and run an affiliate program to promote it. Our September 2026 profile describes the course and community features as basic: they work, but they are not the deep learning experience of a dedicated course platform, and there is no branded mobile app for students. For a coach selling a first self-paced course, basic is often enough. For a deeper look at course trade-offs, see Systeme.io vs Kajabi.

Flodesk can sell a digital product through its checkout, for example a PDF workbook or access to a page, and it can run subscriptions and payment plans on Everything. But it has no place for a student to log in, watch lessons, track progress or talk to other members. If you sell a course with Flodesk, the course itself lives somewhere else.

How do payments and checkout compare?

Systeme.io is more flexible: it supports Stripe and PayPal and charges 0% transaction fees. Flodesk checkout uses Stripe only, is limited to certain countries, and for Stripe Express users carries a stated processing rate.

ToolProcessorsPlatform feePayment plans and subscriptionsNotes
CoachfulYour own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account; Apple Pay and Google Pay0% Coachful platform fee; only Stripe or Razorpay processingYes, plus order bumps, coupons, refunds and Stripe TaxInvoice per transaction plus manual invoices; no PayPal

Checkout only in the US, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand and Euro Area countries
Systeme.ioStripe and PayPal0% on all plans, including FreeYesOnly processor fees apply

The country limit on Flodesk is worth checking before you commit. A coach based outside the listed regions cannot sell through Flodesk Checkout at all, according to Flodesk's own Stripe FAQ. Stripe Standard users pay their own regional Stripe rate instead of the Express rate.

For coaches, the deeper question is what happens after the payment. Neither tool attaches the payment to a client record alongside sessions, notes and signed agreements. Coachful does, which matters the first time a client asks what they have paid for and what is left on their package.

Build your platform

What about booking, client records and program delivery?

Neither Flodesk nor Systeme.io books sessions or delivers coaching between them. This is the biggest gap for coaches in this comparison, and it is the same gap for both tools.

Flodesk documents no scheduling, client records, course portal, community or check-ins. Our September 2026 profile of Systeme.io found no native 1:1 scheduling tied to client records, and no habits or check-ins. In practice, coaches using either tool add:

  • a booking tool for discovery calls and sessions, with calendar sync and reminders;
  • a contract or e-signature tool for coaching agreements;
  • a place for session notes and client history;
  • something for between-session accountability, often a shared doc, a habit app or WhatsApp;
  • often a separate community app.

Each of those is its own login for you and often for your client. The joins between them are where things fall through: a client books, but the agreement never goes out; a payment lands, but the program access is granted by hand. If you run a practice rather than a newsletter, read our guide to coaching software before you build this stack.

What does the client experience look like with each tool?

With Flodesk, your client experiences you as a well-designed inbox and a checkout page. With Systeme.io, they also get a course area they log into. With either, everything else happens in other tools.

A Flodesk client journey usually looks like this: they find your link-in-bio page, join your list, receive a lovely welcome sequence, click through to a sales page and pay. Then they wait for you to send a booking link, a contract and access to wherever the program lives. The front end is strong; the back end is manual.

A Systeme.io client journey gets one step further: after paying in a funnel, they can get access to a course in the same account that sent their emails. Our September 2026 profile found the course area basic, with no branded app. Sessions, accountability and conversation still live elsewhere.

For a coaching client, the experience that keeps them is usually not the sales page. It is the Tuesday morning when they open one app, see this week's goal, tick off a habit, answer a check-in and know their coach will see it. Neither tool offers that, because neither is built for it.

Which should you pick for which kind of coach?

Match the tool to how you earn. Here is how we would decide.

  • Pick Flodesk if you are a brand-led coach whose income comes from a newsletter, a few digital products and an occasional launch, your list is under a few thousand subscribers, you sell from the US, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand or the Euro Area, and you care more about how your emails look than about funnel tricks. Our Flodesk alternatives for coaches list covers options if Flodesk's slider pricing outgrows you.
  • Pick Systeme.io if you want to test a lead magnet, a funnel and a first course for free or close to free, you want PayPal, you want an affiliate program, or your list is large and you want flat pricing. Our Systeme.io alternatives and GoHighLevel vs Systeme.io pieces help if you outgrow it, and Stan Store vs Systeme.io covers the link-in-bio angle.
  • Pick neither if most of your revenue comes from 1:1 or group coaching packages, programs that run for weeks, or clients who need accountability between sessions. You need a coaching platform, and email and funnels should come with it.

Is there a third option? Coachful, when it beats both and when it does not

Yes. We make Coachful, so weigh this section with that in mind. Coachful is a coaching platform: one subscription covers booking, payments, contracts, program delivery with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant, with one login for you and one branded app for your clients. It is built for coaches who deliver programs, not just sessions, for solo coaches growing into a small team, and for coaches replacing four to six tools.

Where Coachful beats both

  • Booking that is part of the client record. Booking pages with availability rules, buffers, minimum notice and time-zone detection; two-way Google, Apple/iCloud and Outlook calendar sync; built-in video or auto-created Zoom, Meet or Teams links; email reminders, plus SMS 24 hours before and WhatsApp 1 hour before once messaging is enabled. See scheduling software for coaches.
  • Agreements before the first call. Coaching agreements with e-signature go out before the first session and are stored on the client record. More on coaching contracts.
  • Delivery between sessions. Multi-week programs with weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars and streaks. Each client gets a status of thriving, active, quiet or at risk, so you see who needs a nudge.
  • Courses and community in the same app. Courses with modules, drip and completion tracking; a community feed, group chat, direct messages and video events; cohort groups created automatically when someone enrolls in a program. See group coaching software.
  • Email and funnels without a second tool. Email lists, broadcasts and multi-step sequences with triggers, delays, branching and A/B splits; booking, application, lead-magnet and checkout funnels with pixels and UTM tracking; a link-in-bio page that sells; a website builder with blog, custom domain and 30 designed homepage templates. See the coach website builder.
  • Payments that keep your margin. Your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account, one-time payments, subscriptions, payment plans, order bumps and coupons, with a 0% Coachful platform fee since August 2026.

What it costs compared with the stack

Coachful uses flat monthly plans. Lower plans cap the number of clients, Pro is unlimited, team plans add coach seats, and monthly plans cancel in one click. Current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients. If you expect around 15 active clients, the plan that covers that is Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients. The fair comparison is against Flodesk or Systeme.io plus the booking, contract, notes and community tools you would add to them, not against either tool alone.

When Flodesk or Systeme.io is still the better choice

  • Pick Flodesk over Coachful if email design is the heart of your business, you mostly sell digital products rather than coaching, and you want the most polished newsletter templates available.
  • Pick Systeme.io over Coachful if you need a plan you never pay for, PayPal, or an affiliate program that pays out automatically. Coachful has no permanent no-cost plan, no PayPal, and its affiliate tracking records payouts manually rather than sending them.
  • Pick either over Coachful if you are not coaching clients at all and just need a list and a landing page. Coachful is not a general website builder for non-coaching sites, not a course marketplace, and it does not support third-party plugins.

Also know what Coachful does not do: it is not HIPAA-certified and offers no BAA, so it is not for clinical record-keeping or insurance billing. The client app ships under the Coachful listing with your branding, not under your own App Store account. There is no Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop or Oura sync, and no Salesforce or HubSpot integration.

Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. On every plan, you can go to Create and choose "We'll build it for you", describe what you want, attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files such as your logo, photos or existing copy, and the Coachful team builds it inside your account, usually within about 24 hours. That covers a website, funnel, sales page, program, course outline and written material, email sequence, link in bio, lead quiz or automation. Nothing gets invented: no fake credentials, testimonials or prices, and gaps are left for you to fill. It does not include recording videos, logo design or ad management. One recent example: a business mentor for beauty professionals got a 12-week mentorship sales page, a free start-up-guide funnel and rewritten follow-up emails. Read more about the free white-glove service.

How do you move from Flodesk or Systeme.io without losing your list?

Export your contacts first, then rebuild pages and sequences in the new tool. Contacts move easily; funnels, pages and courses usually have to be rebuilt.

Systeme.io lets you export contacts to CSV; the export arrives as an emailed link that stays valid for 3 days, so download it right away. Our September 2026 profile found that courses and pages cannot be bulk-exported, so plan to copy lesson content out manually or ask your new platform to rebuild it. Flodesk's data export was not documented on the pages we checked, so look in your account settings or ask Flodesk support before you cancel.

A safe order for any move:

  1. Export contacts and note which segments or tags each person belongs to.
  2. Save copies of your best-performing emails and welcome sequence.
  3. Screenshot or save each sales page and funnel step.
  4. Rebuild in the new tool and send a test sequence to yourself.
  5. Switch your link-in-bio and forms to the new tool, then keep the old account for one billing cycle as a backup.

If you move to Coachful, the team imports clients, programs and content for you during onboarding, and the white-glove service can rebuild your funnel and sequence. Our Systeme.io alternative page covers that path, and you can compare other tools on our comparison hub.

Frequently asked questions

Is Flodesk or Systeme.io cheaper for coaches?

Systeme.io is usually cheaper. Its free plan sends email and covers 3 funnels and 1 course, and paid plans are flat at $17, $47 and $97 a month. Flodesk's free plan cannot send email, and its paid prices start at $25, $28 and $54 a month for up to 1,000 subscribers and rise as your list grows.

Can Flodesk replace Systeme.io?

Only for a simple funnel. Flodesk Everything covers sales pages, funnels, checkout and abandoned-cart emails, but it has no courses, no community, no affiliate program and no PayPal. If you sell a course, you would need another tool alongside it.

Does Systeme.io have good email templates like Flodesk?

Systeme.io positions email as one part of a funnel suite rather than as a design product. Flodesk is a design-led email tool built around its templates and visual editor. If your newsletter is your brand, Flodesk has the edge; if you just need dependable sends, Systeme.io is enough.

Can I book coaching sessions with Flodesk or Systeme.io?

Not natively in a way tied to client records. Flodesk documents no scheduling, and our September 2026 profile found no native 1:1 scheduling with client records in Systeme.io. Coaches using either usually add a separate booking tool, or move to a coaching platform such as Coachful that includes booking.

Do Flodesk or Systeme.io take a cut of my sales?

Systeme.io charges 0% transaction fees on every plan; you pay only Stripe or PayPal processing. Flodesk states no Flodesk fee, and Stripe Express processing through Flodesk Checkout is 3% + $0.30 in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Coachful also charges a 0% platform fee, with only Stripe or Razorpay processing.

Which countries can use Flodesk Checkout?

Flodesk Checkout payments are supported in the US, Canada, the UK, Australia, New Zealand and Euro Area countries. If you are based elsewhere, check Flodesk's Stripe FAQ before relying on it, or choose a tool that supports your region.

Is it worth using Flodesk and Systeme.io together?

Some coaches do, with Flodesk for newsletters and Systeme.io for funnels and courses. That works, but you then manage two contact lists, two sets of automations and two bills, and you still lack booking, agreements and client delivery. One platform that covers all of it is usually simpler.

What is Coachful's free white-glove service?

It is a done-for-you build included on every Coachful plan. You describe what you need, such as a website, funnel, program or email sequence, attach references and files, and the Coachful team builds it in your account, usually within about 24 hours. It does not include recording videos, logo design or ad management.

Is Coachful a good fit if I only need email marketing?

Probably not. Coachful's email and funnels are strongest when they sit next to booking, programs and client delivery. If you only run a newsletter, a dedicated email tool like Flodesk may suit you better.
