Systeme io vs ClickFunnels: Which Fits Coaches in 2026?

Systeme io vs ClickFunnels: Which Fits Coaches in 2026?

If you are weighing systeme io vs clickfunnels for a coaching business, the short answer is cost and ceiling. Systeme.io has a free plan and paid plans from $17 to $97 a month, while ClickFunnels has no free plan, starts at $97 a month and reaches $5,997 a year for its top tier, as listed in October 2026. Both are marketing suites for capturing leads and selling offers. Neither is built to run the coaching itself once someone pays: sessions tied to a client record, a signed agreement, and the habits and check-ins that happen between calls.

We make Coachful, a coaching platform that puts the funnel and the delivery behind one login, so it appears in this comparison as a third option. We rank it first on the criteria that decide a coaching business, and we say plainly where Systeme.io or ClickFunnels is the better buy. Vendor prices and limits below are as listed in October 2026; anything marked as coming from our September 2026 profile is from earlier research and may have changed since.

Systeme io vs ClickFunnels: which should a coach choose?

Choose Systeme.io if you want the cheapest way to build an email list, sell a course and run simple funnels. Choose ClickFunnels if you push paid traffic into many funnels and need larger contact, email and team allowances on every plan. If what you sell is coaching, with sessions and follow-through between them, neither covers the job alone, and a coaching platform replaces more of your stack.

  • Starting with no budget: Systeme.io Free gives you 2,000 contacts, 3 funnels, 1 course with up to 500 students and unlimited emails, with no credit card required.
  • Selling one course or lead magnet on a small budget: Systeme.io Startup at $17 a month covers 5,000 contacts, 10 funnels and 5 courses.
  • Running evergreen webinars: Systeme.io Webinar at $47 a month adds evergreen webinars with 10,000 contacts and 50 funnels.
  • Running ads into many funnels with a small team: ClickFunnels Launch at $97 a month ($81 a month billed annually), or Scale at $197 a month when you need webhooks, API access and 75,000 contacts.
  • Delivering 1:1 or group coaching programs: a coaching platform such as Coachful, which adds booking, agreements, check-ins, habits and a branded client app on top of funnels, email and a website.

If you only need one sentence: Systeme.io wins on price, ClickFunnels wins on funnel volume and headroom, and neither wins on coaching delivery. The rest of this article shows the numbers behind that.

How do Systeme.io and ClickFunnels compare side by side?

Side by side, Systeme.io and ClickFunnels sell the same category of product, a funnel builder with email, courses and community, at very different price points. The bigger gap for a coach is what both leave out.

How we ranked: one login for the whole client journey, between-session delivery, total stack cost, and setup effort (including Coachful's free white-glove build).

The Trustpilot scores were seen on October 25, 2026. They mix every kind of customer, so they tell you people are broadly satisfied with both products, not whether either fits a coaching practice. Systeme.io's score rests on more than three times as many reviews as ClickFunnels's.

Systeme.io pitches itself as an all-in-one marketing suite for people starting out: funnels, email, courses, a community, a blog and an affiliate program you can run for your own offers. Its defining feature for coaches is the price, including 0% transaction fees even on the free plan.

ClickFunnels is a funnel and sales-page builder that has grown into a suite with email, courses, community, a store and an appointments app. Every plan includes all of its apps, and the plans differ mainly by contacts, email sends, workspaces, team members and course or community counts. For deeper single-vendor looks, read our Systeme.io review and our ClickFunnels review.

How much do Systeme.io and ClickFunnels cost?

Systeme.io costs $0, $17, $47 or $97 a month; ClickFunnels costs $97, $197 or $297 a month, or $81, $164 and $248 a month billed annually, with a $5,997-a-year Dominate tier. In other words, ClickFunnels's cheapest plan costs the same as Systeme.io's most expensive one.

Systeme.io pricing in detail

Systeme.io's free plan is the most generous starting point in this category: 2,000 contacts, 3 funnels, 1 course with up to 500 students, 1 blog, 1 affiliate program, 1 custom domain, 1 automation rule, 1 email campaign and unlimited emails. It never expires, and "No credit card required" appears under every plan's sign-up button. The limits that bite first for a coach are the single automation rule and the single course.

Annual billing is advertised as "2 months free", but the yearly amounts were not printed on the page in October 2026. Our September 2026 profile recorded $170, $470 and $970 a year for Startup, Webinar and Unlimited. The page shows "$" without naming the currency, so confirm at checkout if you are outside the US. Our full Systeme.io pricing breakdown covers each limit.

ClickFunnels pricing in detail

ClickFunnels's Launch plan includes 10,000 contacts, 50,000 emails a month, 1 workspace, 2 team members, 5 domains, 3 courses, 3 communities, 1 store and 1 million AI words. Funnels on Launch are listed as unlimited with a "Limited Time" label, so read that as a promotion rather than a permanent allowance. Scale adds a custom code editor, webhooks and API access, priority and live chat support and voice AI coaching. Optimize adds a private one-hour onboarding call. Dominate is annual only at $5,997 and adds FunnelFlix Platinum, a three-hour onboarding and VIP support.

ClickFunnels states annual savings of $194, $394 and $594 a year on Launch, Scale and Optimize. There is a 14-day trial and a 30-day money-back guarantee; our September 2026 profile noted the help center says the card on file is charged after the 14 days. See our ClickFunnels pricing guide for the plan-by-plan detail.

What would you pay at your size?

Plan prices only make sense against your own numbers. The three coaches below are examples, not real customers, and the figures for Systeme.io and ClickFunnels cover the marketing suite only.

ToolExample A: new coach, 800 contacts, 1 courseExample B: 15 clients, 4,000 contacts, 2 coursesExample C: 40 clients, 12,000 contacts, 6 courses
CoachfulLite: $29/month for up to 5 clientsSolo: $49/month for up to 20 clientsPro: $99/month with unlimited clients
Systeme.ioFree: $0Startup: $17/moUnlimited: $97/mo (12,000 contacts passes Webinar's 10,000 cap)
ClickFunnelsLaunch: $97/mo ($81 annually)Launch: $97/mo ($81 annually)Scale: $197/mo (12,000 contacts passes Launch's 10K cap)

Two things change the picture. First, contacts drive the bill on both marketing suites, so a big free lead magnet can push you up a tier even if your paying clients stay flat. Second, the Systeme.io and ClickFunnels rows leave out the tools a coach adds for delivery: a scheduler, an e-signature or contract tool, and something for check-ins and habit tracking. Our Calendly pricing and HoneyBook pricing breakdowns show what those add-ons cost. Coachful's lower plans cap the number of clients, Pro is unlimited, and booking, agreements and check-ins are included in your Coachful membership.

Which builds better funnels and sales pages?

ClickFunnels is the funnel specialist and gives you more funnel headroom, domains and code-level control; Systeme.io builds the same kinds of funnels with tighter caps on its lower plans. For a coach, the deciding question is usually where the funnel leads after checkout, not how many funnels you can build.

A purchase funnel for a coach is usually short: a lead magnet or webinar, a sales or application page, a checkout or a booked call. Both tools handle that path. ClickFunnels adds more room on its entry plan (5 domains and, for now, unlimited funnels) and, from Scale up, a custom code editor plus webhooks and API access for connecting other systems. Systeme.io counts funnels: 3 on Free, 10 on Startup, 50 on Webinar and unlimited only on the $97 Unlimited plan. Ten funnels is plenty for most solo coaches; it is tight for someone testing many ad angles.

Portability is the same weakness on both. Our September 2026 profile found ClickFunnels funnels are proprietary and cannot be moved to another platform, and Systeme.io pages and courses cannot be bulk-exported. Whatever you build, plan to rebuild it if you ever leave. If you want a step-by-step on building the path itself, see how to build a coaching sales funnel without ClickFunnels.

Coachful's funnels are narrower in purpose: booking, application, lead-magnet and checkout funnels with Meta Pixel and GA4 tracking and UTM parameters, about 25 funnel templates, and a link-in-bio page that sells. Checkout supports one-time payments, subscriptions, payment plans, order bumps and coupons. The difference is the destination: a buyer lands inside the coach's branded client home, already enrolled in the program, with the first session to book.

For the site around the funnels, Coachful includes a section-based website builder with a blog, custom domain, SEO settings, 30 designed homepage templates and an Import website option. It is built for coaching sites only, not general business sites. See the coach website builder page for the full list.

How do email marketing and automations compare?

Systeme.io includes unlimited email sends on every plan, including Free, but limits automation rules on its free plan; ClickFunnels caps sends by plan, from 50,000 a month on Launch to 1.2 million on Dominate. For most coaches, Systeme.io's model is cheaper and ClickFunnels's caps are high enough not to matter.

Here is how the ClickFunnels cap plays out, as a worked example. A coach with a 10,000-contact list who sends one newsletter a week sends roughly 43,000 emails a month, which fits inside Launch's 50,000. Sending twice a week takes that to about 86,000, which pushes the coach toward Scale's 300,000 sends and 75,000 contacts. On Systeme.io the same list sits on the Webinar plan, and send volume does not change the price.

Automation depth is where Systeme.io's free plan is thin: 1 automation rule and 1 email campaign. The Unlimited plan removes the cap on automation rules. For a coach, the automations that matter most are not marketing sequences but delivery ones: a welcome after purchase, a reminder before a session, a nudge when a client misses a check-in. Neither marketing suite documents those last two, because neither tracks sessions or check-ins against a client record.

Coachful's email covers lists, broadcasts and multi-step sequences with triggers, delays, branching and A/B splits. Session reminders go out by email, plus SMS 24 hours before and WhatsApp one hour before once messaging is enabled.

Which is better for courses, memberships and community?

Systeme.io gives you more courses for less money; ClickFunnels caps courses and communities at 3 each on Launch and 6 on Scale. Neither is a dedicated course platform, and our September 2026 profile described Systeme.io's course and community features as basic, without a branded mobile app.

Course counts by plan, as listed in October 2026:

  • Systeme.io: 1 course and 500 students on Free, 5 courses on Startup, 20 on Webinar, unlimited on Unlimited.
  • ClickFunnels: 3 courses and 3 communities on Launch, 6 on Scale, 10 on Optimize, 20 on Dominate.

If courses are your main product and you want a richer course experience, a course platform such as Kajabi or Thinkific is the comparison to make; our Kajabi pricing breakdown shows the price jump that comes with it. If courses support your coaching rather than replace it, you mainly need lessons delivered in the same place as everything else.

Coachful's courses have modules, lessons, drip release and completion tracking, with 48 course templates that include quizzes, delivered into the client's branded home and app. Alongside courses sit downloads, videos, books, AI tools, events and bundles. It is not a course marketplace, so it will not bring you buyers. More on the course platform for coaches page.

Community works the same way. Coachful includes a community feed, group chat, direct messages and video events, and when a client enrolls in a group program, a cohort group is created automatically. That last part is the one coaches running cohorts tend to rebuild by hand elsewhere. See group coaching software for how cohorts are set up.

Can either one run 1:1 coaching: booking, payments and agreements?

Only partly. ClickFunnels includes an appointments app, and our September 2026 profile found Systeme.io had no native 1:1 scheduling tied to client records. Neither documents client habits, check-ins or structured 1:1 programs, and neither documents e-signed coaching agreements.

Payments are the one area where both serve coaches well. Systeme.io charges 0% transaction fees on every plan and works with Stripe and PayPal. ClickFunnels advertises "You'll keep every penny you make", meaning no ClickFunnels commission, and processes through Payments AI (Stripe-based), with Stripe and PayPal also listed in our September 2026 profile. If your clients insist on PayPal, both marketing suites support it.

What a coach needs past checkout is a different list:

  • A booking page with availability rules, buffers, minimum notice and time-zone detection.
  • Two-way calendar sync, so personal appointments block coaching slots.
  • A video link created automatically, plus reminders.
  • Paid sessions and session credits, so a 10-session package counts down by itself.
  • An agreement signed before the first call, stored where you can find it.
  • Intake questions answered before the client arrives.

Coachful includes each of those: booking pages with two-way Google, Apple/iCloud and Outlook sync; built-in video or auto-created Zoom, Meet or Teams links; paid sessions and session credits; intake questions on booking; round-robin or least-busy assignment for multi-coach session types; and coaching agreements with e-signature sent before the first call and stored on the client record. Payments run through the coach's own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account, with one-time payments, subscriptions, payment plans, refunds, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Stripe Tax and an invoice per transaction. There is a 0% Coachful platform fee since August 2026. There is no PayPal. Details on the scheduling software and coaching contracts pages.

Which one looks like you?

Coachful builds your coaching website from a few answers, in a design chosen for your niche, with programs, booking and payments ready behind it.

Build your platform

What does your client actually experience with each?

With Systeme.io or ClickFunnels, your client experiences a polished path up to payment, then a course area plus whatever other tools you bolt on. With a coaching platform, the client gets one place for sessions, program steps, habits, check-ins and messages.

Follow one client through each setup. On Systeme.io, they opt in for your lead magnet, read the sales page and pay at checkout. If you sell a course, they get a members area. For their first call, you send a link to a separate scheduler; the agreement goes out from an e-signature tool; check-ins happen in a form tool or over email. That is three or four logins for the client and the same for you, plus the work of keeping them in sync.

On ClickFunnels, the path is the same up to checkout, with the appointments app covering booking inside the same account. Habits, check-ins and per-client programs still sit elsewhere, since ClickFunnels does not document them.

On Coachful, the client pays through the funnel and lands in your branded home: the next session, the current week of their program, their goals with progress bars, habits with streaks, morning and evening check-ins, documents and the community. The client app ships under the Coachful listing with your branding inside it, not under your own App Store account.

The between-session part is the reason coaching platforms exist. Habits and check-ins are how a coach sees that a client went quiet in week three before the renewal conversation, not after. On the coach side, each client record shows goals, check-ins, habits, notes, intake answers, payments and sessions, with a status of thriving, active, quiet or at risk.

What happens if you outgrow Systeme.io or ClickFunnels?

You can take your contacts with you from either tool, but not your funnels, pages or courses. Plan a rebuild if you switch.

Systeme.io exports contacts to CSV through an emailed link that stays valid for 3 days; our September 2026 profile found courses and pages are not bulk-exportable. ClickFunnels exports contacts to CSV too, and the same profile found funnels and pages are not portable and course content has to be rebuilt. If you already know you will move, keep your course videos and copy in your own files from day one.

Coachful exports full client data as a ZIP (roster, notes, check-ins, goals, habits, sessions and form responses) and exports courses. When you join, clients, programs and content are imported for you during onboarding. If you are leaving Systeme.io specifically, the Systeme.io alternative page covers the move; for ClickFunnels, see how to manage coaching funnels without ClickFunnels.

Which should you pick for which kind of coach?

Pick by what you sell. Marketing-led course sellers fit Systeme.io or ClickFunnels; coaches selling time, programs and accountability fit a coaching platform.

ToolPick it if you areSkip it if you
CoachfulA coach selling 1:1 or group programs who wants funnels, booking, agreements, check-ins and courses in one login; a solo coach growing into a small teamNeed PayPal, HIPAA coverage, a course marketplace or a general business website
Systeme.ioBrand new and building a list on no budget; selling one course, a lead magnet or evergreen webinarsRun 1:1 sessions and need booking, agreements and client records in the same tool
ClickFunnelsRunning paid ads into many funnels with a small team; need webhooks, API access or high email volumeWant a low monthly bill while you find your first clients, or need between-session client tools

When Systeme.io is the right pick

Systeme.io suits a coach who is still validating an offer. You can publish a lead magnet, a short course and a newsletter for $0, and move to $17 a month when you pass 2,000 contacts or 3 funnels. It also suits creators whose income is mostly digital products, sold partly through an affiliate program of their own. Pick Systeme.io over Coachful if you are not coaching clients yet and want to build an audience on a no-cost plan first, or if PayPal is a must.

When ClickFunnels is the right pick

ClickFunnels suits a marketer-coach whose business runs on paid traffic, split across many funnels and domains, with a team member or two building pages. The custom code editor, webhooks and API access on Scale matter when you are wiring funnels into other systems. Pick ClickFunnels over Coachful if your revenue comes from high-volume funnel sales rather than ongoing client relationships, or if you need its funnel-volume headroom and webhooks today.

When a coaching platform is the right pick

Pick a coaching platform when the work starts after payment. That covers life and business coaches running 12-week programs, health and fitness coaches tracking habits and check-ins, and executive coaches logging hours toward an ICF credential. The niche pages for life coaches, business coaches and new coaches show the setup for each.

For health and fitness coaches, a scope note: coaching is not treatment. Keep your work to behaviour change and accountability, and refer clients to a doctor, dietitian or licensed therapist when symptoms, medications or eating concerns come up. Coachful's Fitness & Nutrition pack adds a workout builder with illustrated exercises, nutrition targets, meal plans, progress photos and form-check video, but Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and is not for clinical records.

Is there a third option? Where Coachful beats both, and where it does not

Yes. Coachful replaces the funnel and email layer that Systeme.io and ClickFunnels provide and adds the coaching delivery both lack, so the client journey lives in one login. It gives up some funnel volume and PayPal support to do that.

Coachful's funnels page on a laptop next to a tablet showing a client's enrolled program
Coachful's Funnels page with demo webinar, lead magnet and program launch funnels on the laptop, and a demo client's enrolled group program on the tablet.

What Coachful is. One subscription covers booking, payments, contracts, program delivery with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant, with one login for the coach and one branded app for the client. The company is based in Tallinn, Estonia, and holds a Trustpilot score of 4.5 from 21 reviews.

Who it is for. Coaches who deliver programs, not just sessions; solo coaches growing into a small team (Studio and Agency plans add coach seats with per-coach availability and staff permissions); and coaches replacing 4 to 6 tools.

Where it beats both.

  • Between-session delivery: multi-week programs with weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars and streaks. Neither marketing suite documents these.
  • Booking and agreements in the same account: sessions, e-signed agreements and intake answers sit on the client record.
  • Michelle, the built-in AI assistant: works from your live practice data to build programs, draft emails and content, summarize recorded sessions and brief you before each session. It can also give optional private feedback on your coaching against ICF Core Competencies 3 to 8. Questions and planning are included in your Coachful membership; confirmed builds and changes use AI credits.
  • AI Coach: an AI version of you that selected clients can chat with between sessions, configured by you.
  • ICF credential tracking: counts coaching hours and distinct clients against ACC, PCC and MCC thresholds and exports an ICF client coaching log with paid and pro bono hours.
  • Templates: more than 40 ready-to-film program templates, 48 course templates and about 25 funnel templates.

To see the funnel side of Coachful in practice, this walkthrough builds and edits a funnel:

Where it does not beat them. Be clear about these before you switch:

  • No PayPal; payments run through Stripe Connect or Razorpay.
  • No permanent free plan, where Systeme.io has one.
  • Not HIPAA-certified, with no BAA; not for clinical record-keeping or insurance billing.
  • Not a general website builder for non-coaching sites, and no third-party plugins.
  • No multi-stage sales deal board for large teams and no Salesforce or HubSpot integration.
  • The affiliate program tracks links, clicks, conversions and revenue, but payouts are recorded manually rather than sent by Coachful.
  • No Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop or Oura sync, and no stock exercise videos; coaches attach their own demo videos.

For the full feature list, see coaching software, and for other head-to-heads, the compare hub. Current plans: (Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients).

Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. On every plan, you can ask the Coachful team to build your website, funnel, sales page, program, course outline and written material, email sequence, link in bio, lead quiz or automation inside your own account. You open Create > We'll build it for you, describe what you want, and attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files such as logos, photos, brand guides and copy. Builds usually arrive within about 24 hours. Nothing is invented: no fake credentials, testimonials or prices, and gaps are left for you to fill. It does not include recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing. One recent build: a leadership coach with a Squarespace renewal days away got one clean homepage with a repeated "talk with me" button. Another: a business mentor for beauty professionals got a 12-week mentorship sales page, a free start-up-guide funnel and rewritten follow-up emails. Read more about the free white-glove service.

Frequently asked questions

Is Systeme.io really free?

Yes. Systeme.io's free plan never expires and needs no credit card, as listed in October 2026. It includes 2,000 contacts, 3 funnels, 1 course with up to 500 students, 1 automation rule and unlimited emails, with 0% transaction fees.

Is Systeme.io better than ClickFunnels?

For a coach on a budget, usually yes: it covers the same core jobs (funnels, email, courses, community) for $0 to $97 a month. ClickFunnels is the better pick when you need more funnel headroom, team members, webhooks or API access, and are spending enough on ads for $97 to $297 a month to be a small line item.

Is ClickFunnels worth $97 a month for a new coach?

Rarely, if you are still finding your first clients. The Launch plan's 10,000 contacts and 50,000 monthly emails are sized for a business already running traffic. Use the 14-day trial and the 30-day money-back guarantee to test it against your real funnel before committing.

Do Systeme.io or ClickFunnels take a cut of my sales?

No. Systeme.io lists 0% transaction fees on every plan, and ClickFunnels lists 0% commission. You still pay your payment processor's fees, such as Stripe or PayPal.

Can I move my funnels from ClickFunnels to Systeme.io?

Not directly. Both tools export contacts to CSV, but our September 2026 profile found ClickFunnels funnels are not portable and Systeme.io pages are not bulk-exportable. Expect to rebuild pages and courses, and import your contact list.

Does either tool handle booking for coaching calls?

ClickFunnels includes an appointments app. Our September 2026 profile found Systeme.io had no native 1:1 scheduling tied to client records, so coaches typically add a separate scheduler. Neither documents client habits, check-ins or e-signed agreements.

Can Coachful replace both Systeme.io and ClickFunnels?

For most coaches, yes: Coachful includes a website with a blog, booking, application, lead-magnet and checkout funnels, email sequences and courses, plus the coaching delivery. It does not suit you if you need PayPal, a general business website or a large sales team pipeline.

What is Coachful's free white-glove service?

On every plan, the Coachful team will build a website, funnel, sales page, program, course outline, email sequence or similar inside your account from a short brief, usually within about 24 hours. You can attach up to 8 links and 10 files. It does not cover video recording, logo design, ads or ongoing marketing.

Is Coachful HIPAA compliant?

No. Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and does not sign a BAA, so it is not for clinical record-keeping or insurance billing. It is GDPR-ready and built for coaching, not treatment.
