Beacons vs Systeme io (2026): Which Fits Coaches?

Beacons vs Systeme io (2026): Which Fits Coaches?

In the beacons vs systeme io decision, the short version is this: Beacons is a creator storefront built around a link-in-bio page, a media kit and quick digital-product sales, while Systeme.io is a low-cost marketing suite built around funnels, email automation and online courses. If most of your audience finds you on Instagram or TikTok and you sell small digital products, Beacons is the lighter fit. If you want a sales funnel, an email list and a course on one cheap bill, Systeme.io gives you far more per dollar. Neither one runs the coaching itself: booking with client records, agreements, programs with check-ins and a client app are outside what both vendors document.

We make Coachful, a coaching platform, so we have a stake in this comparison. We will be straight about where each tool wins, including where Beacons or Systeme.io beats Coachful. All vendor prices and limits below are as listed on each vendor's pricing page in October 2026, and we report what vendors document and what public reviewers say, not hands-on testing claims.

Beacons vs Systeme io: what is the short answer by use case?

Pick by what you sell and where your buyers come from. Beacons suits a coach who is mainly a creator; Systeme.io suits a coach who is mainly a marketer; a coach who mainly delivers ongoing client work needs something built for coaching.

  • You sell a few PDFs, templates or a mini course from your Instagram bio: Beacons. Its free plan includes a link-in-bio page, unlimited digital products, affiliate links and Instagram auto-DM, with a 9% Beacons seller fee on sales.
  • You want a lead magnet, an email sequence and a sales page for a course: Systeme.io. Its free plan already includes 3 funnels, 1 course, 2,000 contacts and unlimited emails, with 0% transaction fees.
  • You run a webinar-led launch: Systeme.io's Webinar plan ($47/month) adds evergreen webinars and raises caps to 50 funnels and 20 courses.
  • You do brand deals as well as coaching: Beacons, because the media kit is part of the product and the paid plans add more websites and pages.
  • You coach 1:1 or in groups over weeks or months: neither is a full answer. You would still add a scheduler, an e-signature tool and somewhere to deliver the program. That is where a coaching platform such as Coachful comes in, covered further down.

If you are still mapping the wider market, our Systeme io alternatives guide and the Stan Store vs Beacons comparison cover the neighbouring tools.

How do Beacons and Systeme io compare side by side?

On paper they overlap (both sell digital products, both send email, both build simple websites), but they start from opposite ends. Beacons starts from the creator's profile and works outward to a store; Systeme.io starts from the funnel and works outward to courses and community.

Thinking of launching your coaching business?

Answer a few questions and Coachful builds it around you: your website, programs, booking and payments. Ready in minutes.

Build your platform

We rank for coaches on four criteria: one login for the whole client journey, delivery between sessions, total stack cost, and setup effort (including whether someone will build it for you).

Two numbers jump out. Systeme.io's free plan sends unlimited emails, while Beacons's free plan sends 50 a month. And Beacons charges a 9% seller fee until you pay at least $30 a month, while Systeme.io charges no transaction fee at any tier.

What do Beacons and Systeme io cost in 2026?

Beacons runs from $0 to $100 a month and Systeme.io from $0 to $97 a month, but the comparison that matters is price plus fees. Beacons's two lower tiers take 9% of each sale; Systeme.io takes nothing beyond your payment processor at any level.

When does the Beacons seller fee start to hurt?

The 9% fee is the single biggest cost factor on Beacons. The table below uses example monthly sales figures (illustrations, not data from any coach) and leaves out payment processing, which you pay on every tool.

Tool and planExample: $200 in sales/monthExample: $500 in sales/monthExample: $2,000 in sales/month
CoachfulPlan price only, 0% platform fee (Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients)Plan price only, 0% platform feePlan price only, 0% platform fee
Beacons Free (9%)$18 in fees$45 in fees$180 in fees
Beacons Creator ($10 + 9%)$28$55$190
Beacons Creator Plus ($30, 0%)$30$30$30
Systeme.io Free (0%)$0$0$0
Systeme.io Startup ($17, 0%)$17$17$17

The arithmetic is simple: at 9%, Beacons Free costs more than Creator Plus once you sell more than about $333 a month, and Creator costs more than Creator Plus above about $222 a month. So any coach with steady sales on Beacons should expect to pay $30 a month, which is already more than Systeme.io's Startup plan. Systeme.io's real constraint is not fees but caps: funnels, courses and contacts per tier.

Which is better for selling digital products and courses?

Systeme.io is better for courses; Beacons is quicker for single digital products. Systeme.io includes a course on its free plan, while Beacons keeps courses and memberships for Creator Plus and above.

Beacons lets you list unlimited digital products on every plan, from a guide or a workbook to a recorded masterclass, and sell them straight from your link-in-bio page. From Creator Plus you get unlimited courses with video hosting, unlimited memberships and Buy Now Pay Later through Klarna and Affirm. Beacons lists Stripe, PayPal, Klarna and Affirm as processors.

Systeme.io treats a course as the back end of a funnel: a sales page sends buyers into a course area, and email automation follows them. The free plan allows 1 course and 500 students; Startup allows 5 courses and Webinar 20. Public reviewers and our older profile describe the course and community features as basic compared with dedicated course platforms, and Systeme.io does not offer a branded mobile app (older profile). Payments go through Stripe or PayPal.

For a coach, the gap that matters is what happens after the purchase. Both tools hand over content. Neither documents a way to give each client a private plan, weekly goals, daily tasks or habit tracking. If your offer is "watch these videos", either works. If your offer is "work with me for 12 weeks", you need more.

Which handles funnels, email and automation better?

Systeme.io, clearly. Funnels and email are what it was built for, and its free plan includes unlimited email sends, which Beacons does not offer below Creator Plus.

Systeme io homepage with its all-in-one marketing headline
Systeme.io's homepage in October 2026.

Systeme.io bundles funnels (opt-in page, sales page, checkout, thank-you page), email campaigns, automation rules, a blog and an affiliate program you can run for your own products. The limits that bite on the free plan are 1 automation rule and 1 email campaign; on Startup, 10 funnels. If you want a deeper look at the funnel side, our Systeme io vs ClickFunnels comparison and Systeme io review go further.

Beacons's email tool is sized for creators: 50 sends a month on Free and 500 on Creator. For a coach with a list of 400 people, one newsletter on Creator already uses most of the month. Unlimited sends start at $30 a month. Beacons's strength is elsewhere: Instagram auto-DM on every plan, so a follower who comments or messages can be sent a link automatically.

What about booking, client records and 1:1 coaching?

This is where both tools fall short for coaches. Beacons's pricing page does not list scheduling with client records, contracts, habits or check-ins, and our older Systeme.io profile notes no native 1:1 scheduling with client records, habits or check-ins.

In practice, a coach on either tool adds a separate scheduler for discovery calls and sessions, an e-signature tool for the coaching agreement, a place for session notes, and a way to deliver weekly work. That is four logins, four sets of client data and four subscriptions. It is also where clients drop off: the purchase happens in one place, the booking in another, the follow-up in email.

If 1:1 sessions are the core of your business, compare coaching scheduling software and coaching contracts with e-signature before you commit to a marketing tool alone.

How do websites, link in bio and Instagram tools compare?

Beacons wins on link in bio and Instagram; Systeme.io wins on full funnels and a blog. Neither is a polished coaching website out of the box, but both can be enough to start.

  • Link in bio: Beacons's core product. It also includes a media kit for brand partnerships and analytics on every plan.
  • Websites: Beacons gives 1 website with 1 page free, 5 websites with 3 pages each on Creator, 10 x 5 on Creator Plus and 15 x 10 on Creator Max. Creator adds a free custom domain. Systeme.io includes 1 blog and 1 custom domain on its free plan and builds pages within funnels.
  • Instagram: Beacons includes Instagram auto-DM on every plan, so a follower who comments or messages can get your link without you typing it.
  • Affiliate links: Beacons lets you add affiliate links to your page, and keep 100% of affiliate commissions from Creator Plus. If you promote products for a commission, the US Federal Trade Commission's endorsement guide FAQ explains how to disclose those relationships.
  • Your own affiliate program: Systeme.io lets other people promote your products for a commission, with 1 affiliate program even on Free.

What does the client experience look like on each?

On Beacons, a client sees your link-in-bio page, a checkout and a download or course area. On Systeme.io, a client sees a funnel page, a checkout, emails and a course area. In both cases, the experience ends where the content ends.

For a buyer of a $27 workbook, that is fine. For a coaching client paying for a 3-month program, it can feel thin. They will usually book through a separate link, sign an agreement in another tool, get their homework by email and message you on WhatsApp or Instagram. Nothing ties their progress together, and you cannot see at a glance who has gone quiet.

Public reviews point in different directions too. As of October 2026, Systeme.io shows 4.9 on Trustpilot from 8,696 reviews; Beacons shows 2.0 from 43 reviews. A small sample like Beacons's is easy to move, so read the recent reviews yourself before deciding.

A coaching platform changes what the client sees. In Coachful, a client opens one branded home where their next session, pre-session work, program week, habits and check-ins sit together, and you see their progress on the client record. Is there a third option? When Coachful beats both, and when it does not

Yes. If you coach clients over time, Coachful replaces the four or five tools you would bolt onto Beacons or Systeme.io, and it beats both on the coaching itself. It does not beat them on price at the very bottom, on PayPal, or on creator extras like a media kit.

What Coachful is. Coachful is a coaching platform. One subscription covers booking, payments, contracts, program delivery with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant, with one login for the coach and one branded app for the client. It is built for coaches who deliver programs, not just sessions, for solo coaches growing into a small team, and for coaches replacing 4 to 6 tools. The company is based in Tallinn, Estonia, and shows 4.5 on Trustpilot from 21 reviews.

Where Coachful beats Beacons and Systeme.io

  • Booking that belongs to the client record. Booking pages with availability rules, buffers, minimum notice and time-zone detection; two-way Google, Apple/iCloud and Outlook sync; built-in video or auto-created Zoom, Meet or Teams links; email reminders, plus SMS and WhatsApp reminders once messaging is enabled; intake questions on booking; paid sessions and session credits.
  • Agreements before the first call. Coaching agreements with e-signature are sent before the first session and stored on the client record.
  • Delivery between sessions. Multi-week programs with weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars and streaks. Each client shows as thriving, active, quiet or at risk, so you know who needs a nudge.
  • No seller fee. Payments run through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account, with a 0% Coachful platform fee since August 2026: one-time, subscriptions, payment plans, order bumps, coupons, refunds, Apple Pay and Google Pay, Stripe Tax and invoices.
  • Funnels and email too. Booking, application, lead-magnet and checkout funnels with pixels and UTM tracking, plus email lists, broadcasts and multi-step sequences with triggers, delays, branching and A/B splits.
  • Instagram and social. A link-in-bio page that sells, Instagram automations (a comment with a keyword, a DM, a story reply or a mention can trigger a DM with your booking link, lead magnet or checkout), and a social planner that schedules posts to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Threads and YouTube.
  • Courses, community and AI. Courses with modules, drip and completion tracking; a community feed, group chat, events and cohort groups created on enrollment; Michelle, the built-in AI assistant that builds programs, drafts emails and briefs you before sessions.

Where Beacons or Systeme.io beats Coachful

  • Price at zero. Both Beacons and Systeme.io have permanent free plans. Coachful has a free trial but no permanent free plan. If you have no clients and no budget, Systeme.io Free is hard to beat.
  • PayPal. Both accept PayPal; Coachful does not.
  • Media kit and brand deals. Beacons includes a media kit and affiliate links for creators who pitch brands. Coachful is built around coaching clients, not brand partnerships.
  • Buy Now Pay Later via Klarna or Affirm. Beacons offers it from Creator Plus. Coachful offers its own payment plans through your Stripe or Razorpay account instead.
  • Running your own affiliate program at scale. Systeme.io includes an affiliate program, even on Free. Coachful's affiliate tracking covers links, clicks, conversions and revenue, but payouts are recorded manually rather than sent by Coachful.
  • Volume of public reviews. Systeme.io's 8,696 Trustpilot reviews are a much larger sample than Coachful's 21.

What Coachful does not do. It is not HIPAA-certified and offers no BAA, so it is not for clinical records or insurance billing. It has no PayPal and no permanent free plan. The client app runs under the Coachful listing with your branding, not under your own App Store account. It is not a course marketplace, not a general website builder for non-coaching sites, and has no third-party plugins.

Total stack cost: one bill versus several

The fair comparison is not plan against plan but stack against stack. A coach on Beacons Creator Plus ($30/month) or Systeme.io Startup ($17/month) usually still needs a scheduler, an e-signature tool and a place for client notes and homework, each with its own bill. Coachful's flat monthly plans put those in one subscription, with lower plans capping the number of clients and Pro offering unlimited clients (Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients). Add up what you pay today for every tool your clients touch, then compare.

How to start with Coachful

Start a free trial, then use the free white-glove build service so you are not setting it up alone. Clients, programs and content are imported for you during onboarding, and you can export your full client data as a ZIP at any time.

Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. From Create, choose "We'll build it for you · FREE" and describe what you want: a website, a funnel, a sales page, a program, a course outline, an email sequence, a link in bio, a lead quiz or an automation. You can attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files such as your logo, photos and existing copy. The Coachful team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours, and leaves gaps for you rather than inventing credentials, testimonials or prices. One recent example: a business mentor for beauty professionals got a 12-week mentorship sales page, a free start-up-guide funnel and rewritten follow-up emails. Another: a leadership coach with a Squarespace renewal days away got one clean homepage with a repeated "talk with me" button. It does not cover recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing. Read more in how the free white-glove build works.

How do you move from Beacons or Systeme io to a coaching platform?

Export what you can, rebuild the pages that earn money, and move clients last. Systeme.io lets you export contacts to CSV (the emailed link is valid for 3 days), while courses and pages are not bulk-exportable according to our older profile. Beacons does not document a data export on the pages we checked, so ask its support before you plan a move.

  1. Export your contacts and your product list, and save copies of sales page text and course videos.
  2. List every tool your clients touch: booking, agreements, payments, homework, messaging. This is the stack you are replacing.
  3. Rebuild the money pages first: your bio link, your main offer page and your booking page.
  4. Move active clients at a natural break, such as the start of a new month or program block, so nobody loses a session.
  5. Keep the old tool running for a few weeks while links in old posts and emails still point to it.

For a Systeme.io-specific route, our Systeme io alternative page sets out the differences, and the comparison hub lines up other tools. Coaches also weighing a creator store can read Stan Store vs Systeme io, and those focused on email design can read Flodesk vs Systeme io.

What is the final verdict on Beacons vs Systeme io?

Between the two, Systeme.io is the stronger business tool for most coaches: more email, more funnels, a course on the free plan and no transaction fee. Beacons is the better choice only if social media is your main channel and small digital products and brand deals are your main income, and even then the 9% fee pushes most sellers to the $30 plan. If coaching clients over time is how you earn, both leave the most important part of the job to other tools, and a coaching platform like Coachful is the more complete fit.

Frequently asked questions

Is Beacons or Systeme io cheaper for coaches?

At zero sales, both are free. Once you sell, Systeme.io is usually cheaper: it charges 0% transaction fees on every plan and its first paid plan is $17 a month, while Beacons takes 9% of sales until you reach Creator Plus at $30 a month. Processing fees from Stripe or PayPal apply on both.

Does Beacons charge transaction fees?

Yes. As listed in October 2026, Beacons charges a 9% seller fee on its Free and Creator plans and 0% on Creator Plus and Creator Max. Payment processor fees are separate and are not shown on the pricing page.

Can I book coaching sessions with Beacons or Systeme io?

Beacons's pricing page does not list scheduling with client records, and our older Systeme.io profile notes no native 1:1 scheduling with client records. Most coaches on either tool add a separate booking tool. A coaching platform such as Coachful includes booking pages, calendar sync and reminders tied to each client's record.

Which is better for selling an online course?

Systeme.io. It includes 1 course and 500 students on its free plan and up to 20 courses on the $47 Webinar plan. Beacons offers courses and memberships only from Creator Plus at $30 a month.

Which is better for Instagram coaches?

Beacons, between these two: it includes a link-in-bio page, a media kit and Instagram auto-DM on every plan. Coachful also offers a link-in-bio page that sells and Instagram automations that send your booking link or lead magnet by DM, with the lead landing in your client records.

Can I use Beacons and Systeme io together?

Yes, and some creators do: Beacons as the bio page and Systeme.io for funnels and email. The cost is two logins and two contact lists that do not sync on their own, and you would still need booking and client delivery elsewhere.

What is Coachful's free white-glove service?

It is a free build service on every Coachful plan. You describe what you need (a website, funnel, program, course outline, email sequence and more), attach links and files, and the Coachful team builds it inside your account, usually within about 24 hours. It does not include video recording, logo design or ad management.

Can I stay on Coachful without paying, as on Beacons or Systeme io?

No. Coachful has a free trial but no permanent no-cost plan. Plans are flat and monthly, cancel in one click, and lower plans cap the number of clients while Pro is unlimited.

Can I take PayPal payments?

Beacons and Systeme.io both list PayPal. Coachful does not support PayPal; it uses your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account, including Apple Pay and Google Pay.

Is Coachful HIPAA-compliant for health coaches?

No. Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and does not sign a BAA, so clinical records and insurance billing belong in a clinical system. Coaching is not medical treatment; health coaches should refer clients to a medical professional when symptoms or conditions fall outside coaching scope.
