Stan Store vs Teachable for Coaches: 2026 Comparison

Stan Store vs Teachable comes down to what you sell. Stan Store is a link-in-bio storefront that sells digital products, courses and paid calls from one mobile page, starting at $29 a month with no Stan fee on sales. Teachable is a course school with student mobile apps, starting at $39 a month but taking a 7.5% transaction fee on its Starter plan. If you mostly sell calls and small products from Instagram, Stan Store is simpler and cheaper. If your business is a library of video courses, Teachable is the stronger school. If you coach clients through programs between sessions, neither was built for that, which is where a third option comes in.
We make Coachful, a coaching platform, so we have a stake in this comparison. We have kept the Stan Store and Teachable facts to what each vendor documents on its own pages, as listed in October 2026, and to what public reviewers report. We have not run hands-on tests of either tool. Where Coachful wins, we say why; where it does not, we say that too.
What is the short answer by use case?
Pick by the shape of your offer, not by feature count. Each tool is strong at one job and stretched at the others.
- You sell from Instagram or TikTok and want a store live this week: Stan Store. One mobile page, paid calls, lead magnets and digital downloads on the $29 Creator plan.
- You sell several video courses and want students in an app: Teachable. Its plans are built around products, students and course delivery, with iOS and Android student apps listed from Starter.
- You run 1:1 or group coaching programs with weekly goals, habits, check-ins, contracts and sessions: Coachful. It covers the whole client journey in one login, and clients use one branded app.
- You need email broadcasts, discount codes and order bumps on a budget: neither entry plan does all of it. Stan puts them on the $99 Creator Pro plan; Teachable Starter has upsells and cart recovery but charges 7.5% per sale.
- You want the cheapest way to start: Stan Creator at $25 a month billed yearly, or a coaching platform with a free trial if you need client delivery too.

How do Stan Store, Teachable and Coachful compare side by side?
We rank on four criteria that matter most to coaches: one login for the whole client journey, between-session delivery, total stack cost, and setup effort (including Coachful's free white-glove build). On those criteria Coachful leads; on pure creator selling or pure course hosting, Stan Store and Teachable each hold their own.
| Tool | Best for | Entry price | Platform fee on sales | 1:1 booking | Programs, habits, check-ins | Contracts and client records |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Coaches delivering programs and sessions | Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients | 0% (Stripe or Razorpay processing only) | Yes, with two-way calendar sync | Yes | Yes, e-signature and full client record |
| Stan Store | Creators selling from social media | $29/month (Creator) | 0% Stan fee | Yes, calendar booking | No | No |
| Teachable | Course creators with a video library | $39/month (Starter) | 7.5% on Starter, 0% on Builder and up | No native scheduling (older profile) | No | No |
The short version: Stan Store sells, Teachable teaches, and a coaching platform runs the client relationship. Most coaches who outgrow either tool do it because they end up adding a scheduler, a contract tool, a CRM and a habit app on the side.
What is Stan Store, and who is it for?
Stan Store is a link-in-bio storefront for creators. You get one mobile and desktop store page where followers can buy digital products, courses, memberships and paid calls, and join your email list through a lead magnet.

As listed in October 2026, the Creator plan includes the storefront, calendar booking, analytics, an unlimited course builder, recurring subscriptions, lead magnets and email collection, a community, and AutoDM for Instagram. Creator Pro adds discount codes, limited-quantity offers, upsells and order bumps, funnels (up to 20 products), Afterpay and Klarna, affiliate management, contact import, email broadcasts and flows, and Meta, Google, Pinterest and TikTok pixels.
Where it stops for coaches: Stan's own materials and our earlier profile show no contracts, invoices or client records, so it is not a CRM. There are no programs with client tasks, habits or check-ins, and no team seats are advertised. That is not a flaw for its audience. It is a store, and it is a good one. Our Stan Store pricing breakdown covers the plan details in full.
What is Teachable, and who is it for?
Teachable is a course and digital-product platform. You build a school, add courses and downloads, and students learn on the web or in Teachable's iOS and Android student apps.

As listed in October 2026, Starter includes AI creation tools, the student apps, global payments and taxes, upsells and cart recovery, with up to 5 products, 1 admin and students listed as "Unlimited". Builder raises the limit to 10 products and adds a 0% transaction fee, an affiliate program and real-time support. Growth allows 50 products and 5 admins, and adds certificates, removal of Teachable branding, imported students, custom admin permissions and free subtitles and translations. A Custom plan adds a success manager, bulk sales, flexible seats and migration assistance.
Where it stops for coaches: our earlier profile found no native scheduling or calendar sync, so coaching calls rely on a separate booking tool and video app. There are no client habits, daily check-ins or per-client plans. Teachable is excellent at the course itself and thin on the relationship around it. For more, see Teachable pricing for coaches.
How much do Stan Store and Teachable cost?
Stan Store costs $29 or $99 a month; Teachable costs $39, $89 or $189 a month, with lower rates on yearly billing. The bigger difference is the fee on sales: Stan charges no platform fee on any plan, while Teachable's Starter plan takes 7.5% of every sale.
| Plan | Monthly | Billed yearly (per month) | Platform fee | Key limits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful (all plans) | Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients | Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients | 0% | Lower plans cap clients; Pro is unlimited; team plans add seats |
| Stan Store Creator | $29 | $25 ($300/year) | 0% | Unlimited products and customers; one store |
| Stan Store Creator Pro | $99 | $79 ($948/year) | 0% | Unlimited products and customers |
| Teachable Starter | $39 | $29 | 7.5% | 5 products, 1 admin |
| Teachable Builder | $89 | $69 | 0% | 10 products, 1 admin |
| Teachable Growth | $189 | $139 | 0% | 50 products, 5 admins |
| Teachable Custom | Contact sales | Contact sales | 0% | Custom |

Stan Store has no public pricing page; its prices come from Stan's own pricing article (updated July 22, 2026) and its help center. Payment processing is extra on every tool. Stan uses Stripe or PayPal at their standard rates. Teachable Payments lists US cards at 2.9% + 30¢, international cards at 3.9% + 30¢, PayPal US at 3.49% + 49¢ and international PayPal at 4.99% + 49¢, plus a $15 chargeback fee and an optional BackOffice service at 2% to 2.8% of sales.
When does Teachable's 7.5% fee cost more than upgrading?
Builder costs $50 a month more than Starter on monthly billing and removes the 7.5% fee. The break-even point is about $667 a month in sales ($50 divided by 0.075). As an illustrative example: a coach selling $2,000 a month of courses on Starter pays $150 in Teachable fees plus the $39 plan, or $189, compared with $89 on Builder. Below roughly $667 a month in sales, Starter is cheaper.
When is Stan Creator Pro worth it?
The $70 jump from Creator to Creator Pro buys email broadcasts and flows, discount codes, order bumps, funnels and affiliates. If you send a weekly email to your list, you will want Pro or a separate email tool. Price the separate tool before upgrading: if it costs less than $70 a month and you do not need order bumps, staying on Creator may be cheaper.
Trials and guarantees
Stan offers a 14-day free trial on either plan, and its help center says the first month is charged when the trial ends. Teachable's plan cards show a 7-day free trial plus a 30-day money-back guarantee, and a pop-up offered a 30-day trial on Builder monthly when we checked. Neither page states whether a card is required. Neither tool has a free plan.
How do the features compare, one by one?
Feature by feature, Stan Store wins on social selling and simplicity, Teachable wins on course depth and student apps, and both leave gaps around coaching delivery. Here is the detail coaches usually ask about.
| Feature | Coachful | Stan Store | Teachable |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful overview | One login for booking, payments, contracts, programs, courses, community, website and email | Store plus courses, booking and community | Course school plus digital products |
| Course builder | Modules, lessons, drip, completion tracking | Unlimited course builder on Creator | Full course builder; certificates on Growth |
| 1:1 booking | Availability rules, buffers, two-way Google, Apple and Outlook sync, video links | Calendar booking on Creator | Not native (older profile) |
| Programs with habits and check-ins | Weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, streaks | No | No |
| Contracts and invoices | E-signature agreements; invoice per transaction plus manual invoices | No | No |
| Email marketing | Lists, broadcasts, multi-step sequences with branching and A/B splits | Broadcasts and flows on Creator Pro | Cart recovery listed on Starter |
| Upsells and discounts | Order bumps, coupons, payment plans | Creator Pro | Upsells on Starter |
| Instagram DM automation | Comment, DM, story reply and mention triggers | AutoDM on Creator | Not listed |
| Community | Feed, group chat, DMs, video events, cohort groups | Community on Creator | Not listed in the plan details we reviewed |
| Student or client app | One branded client app (your branding inside the Coachful app) | Mobile storefront | iOS and Android student apps |
| Team seats | Studio and Agency plans with per-coach availability | None advertised | 5 admins on Growth |
| PayPal | No | Yes | Yes |
Courses
Teachable is the more mature course tool. Its plans are organized around products and students, and Growth adds certificates and imported students. Stan's course builder is included on Creator and is fine for a short course or mini-program sold from your store, but it is part of a storefront rather than a full school. If your plan is to publish ten courses and grow a student base, Teachable is the more natural home. If you deliver courses alongside coaching, our guide to delivering online courses without Teachable covers the alternatives.
Booking and sessions
Stan Store includes calendar booking on Creator, so a follower can pay for a call straight from your link in bio. Teachable does not offer native scheduling, according to our earlier profile, so coaches pair it with a separate booking app and Zoom. For coaches whose income is mostly sessions, this single difference often decides it in Stan's favor. A dedicated coaching scheduling tool goes further with buffers, minimum notice, reminders and calendar sync.
Selling and marketing
Stan Store is built for selling from social media: AutoDM for Instagram on Creator, then funnels, pixels, Afterpay and Klarna on Creator Pro. Teachable focuses on checkout inside the school, with upsells and cart recovery on Starter and an affiliate program from Builder. Neither replaces a full website for a coaching practice, though both give you a public page to sell from.
Payments
Stan takes 0% and runs through Stripe or PayPal, with Afterpay and Klarna on Pro. Teachable runs Teachable Payments and PayPal, with the processing rates listed above and a 7.5% platform fee on Starter only. If you plan to sell payment plans for high-ticket coaching, check how each tool handles them before you commit.
Data and leaving
Both let you export customers or students to CSV. Our earlier profiles found that course and community content on Stan must be rebuilt elsewhere, and that Teachable has no bulk course export, so video is downloaded manually. Plan for that if you switch later; our guides on migrating from Stan Store and migrating from Teachable walk through it.
What is the client experience like on each?
On Stan Store, a client experiences a clean mobile checkout: tap your link, buy, book a time, get the product. On Teachable, a client experiences a school: log in, watch lessons, track course progress in the web or mobile app. In both cases, what happens between sessions (the goals, habits, check-ins and messages that make coaching work) lives somewhere else.
That "somewhere else" is usually a stack: a booking tool, a contract tool, a spreadsheet or CRM, a habit or journaling app, a group chat and an email tool. Every extra login is a place a client can drift away. Public reviewers on Trustpilot rate Stan Store 4.7 from 2,205 reviews and Teachable 3.3 from 1,110 reviews, as listed in October 2026. Those ratings reflect each tool as a store or a school, which is what each was built to be.
If your clients need a place to log a habit on Tuesday and answer a check-in on Friday, compare that daily experience before comparing prices.

Which should you pick: Stan Store or Teachable?
Pick Stan Store if social selling and calls drive your income; pick Teachable if courses are the product. Here is how that plays out for different coaches.
- New coach with a following and one offer: Stan Store Creator. Fast setup, low cost, booking included, no platform fee.
- Coach turning a method into a course catalog: Teachable Builder, once sales pass roughly $667 a month, so the 7.5% Starter fee stops making sense.
- Coach selling mini-courses and templates to an audience: Stan Store. It is easier to sell many small products from one page.
- Coach who wants certificates and a team of course admins: Teachable Growth.
- Coach running 1:1 or group programs with ongoing accountability: neither. You will be stitching tools together. Read on.

What is the third option, and when does Coachful beat both?
Coachful is a coaching platform: one subscription covers booking, payments, contracts, program delivery with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant. The coach has one login, and the client has one branded app. It beats both Stan Store and Teachable when you deliver programs rather than just products, and it does not beat them in a few specific cases we list below.

It is built for coaches who deliver programs, not just sessions; for solo coaches growing into a small team; and for coaches replacing four to six tools. The company is based in Tallinn, Estonia, and has a Trustpilot rating of 4.5 from 21 reviews (a far smaller sample than either competitor's).
Where Coachful beats both
- Between-session delivery. Multi-week programs with weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars and streaks. Neither Stan nor Teachable has this.
- Sessions done properly. Booking pages with availability rules, buffers, minimum notice and time-zone detection; two-way Google, Apple and Outlook sync; built-in video or auto-created Zoom, Meet or Teams links; email reminders, plus SMS and WhatsApp once messaging is enabled; paid sessions and session credits.
- Contracts and records. Coaching agreements with e-signature sent before the first call, and a client record with goals, check-ins, habits, notes, intake answers, payments, sessions and a status of thriving, active, quiet or at risk.
- Courses too. Modules, lessons, drip and completion tracking, delivered into the client's branded home and app, plus 48 course templates with quizzes. See our course platform for coaches page.
- Selling without a Pro tier. Funnels, a link-in-bio page that sells, email sequences with branching, Instagram automations and order bumps, all included in your Coachful membership.
- No platform fee. Payments run through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account with 0% Coachful fee; only processing applies.

Here is a short walkthrough of how programs are built and delivered in Coachful:

Michelle, the built-in AI assistant, works from your live practice data: it builds programs, drafts emails, summarizes recorded sessions and briefs you before each call. Questions and planning are included in the membership; confirmed builds and changes use AI credits. More on the AI coaching assistant page.

Where Coachful does not beat them
- Pick Stan Store over Coachful if you only sell digital downloads and the occasional call from social media and want the simplest possible store, or if you need PayPal, Afterpay or Klarna. Coachful has no PayPal.
- Pick Teachable over Coachful if courses are your entire business, you want a course school with certificates and many admins, or you want course-focused student apps rather than a coaching app.
- Coachful is not a course marketplace, not a general website builder for non-coaching sites, and it has no third-party plugins.
- Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and offers no BAA, so it is not for clinical record-keeping or insurance billing.
- The client app ships under the Coachful listing with your branding, not under your own App Store account.
- Affiliates are partial: Coachful tracks links, clicks, conversions and revenue, but payouts are recorded manually.
What does Coachful cost compared with the two?
Coachful uses flat monthly plans: lower plans cap the number of clients, Pro is unlimited, and team plans add coach seats (current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients). Monthly plans cancel in one click, and there is a free trial. The cheapest plan that covers 15 clients is Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients. When you compare it with Stan Store or Teachable, add the cost of the booking tool, contract tool and habit app you would otherwise need next to them. You can line them up on our comparison page or read our Teachable alternative overview.

How to start
Start a free trial, then either build your first program from one of more than 40 ready-to-film program templates or ask the Coachful team to build it for you. During onboarding, your clients, programs and content are imported for you. Coaches who are new to the business can start at Coachful for new coaches; fitness coaches can add the Fitness & Nutrition pack with a workout builder, nutrition targets and progress photos (coaching is not medical care, so clients with health conditions or symptoms should get clearance from a doctor first).
Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. From Create, choose "We'll build it for you · FREE", describe what you want (a website, funnel, sales page, program, course outline, email sequence, link in bio, lead quiz and more), and attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files. The Coachful team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours. Nothing is invented: no fake credentials, testimonials or prices; gaps are left for you to fill. For example, a business mentor for beauty professionals got a 12-week mentorship sales page, a free start-up-guide funnel and rewritten follow-up emails, and a leadership coach with a Squarespace renewal days away got one clean homepage with a repeated "talk with me" button. It does not include recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing. Read more about the free white-glove service.

Frequently asked questions
Is Stan Store better than Teachable?
For selling calls and small digital products from social media, Stan Store is simpler and has no platform fee on any plan. For a library of video courses with student apps and certificates, Teachable is the stronger tool. For coaching programs with habits, check-ins and contracts, neither is built for the job.
Which is cheaper, Stan Store or Teachable?
Stan Store's Creator plan is $29 a month ($25 billed yearly) with no Stan fee on sales. Teachable Starter is $39 a month ($29 billed yearly) plus a 7.5% fee on every sale, so Stan is cheaper for most sellers. At higher tiers, Teachable Builder at $89 is cheaper than Stan Creator Pro at $99 on monthly billing.
Does Teachable charge transaction fees?
Teachable's Starter plan takes a 7.5% transaction fee; Builder, Growth and Custom take 0%. Payment processing is separate: Teachable Payments lists US cards at 2.9% + 30¢ and international cards at 3.9% + 30¢, with a $15 chargeback fee.
Can I book coaching calls on Stan Store or Teachable?
Stan Store includes calendar booking on its Creator plan, so followers can pay for and book a call from your store. Teachable does not offer native scheduling according to our earlier profile, so coaches usually connect a separate booking tool and video app.
Do Stan Store or Teachable have free plans?
No. Stan Store offers a 14-day free trial on both plans and charges the first month when the trial ends. Teachable shows a 7-day free trial plus a 30-day money-back guarantee, and has offered a 30-day trial on Builder monthly.
Can I use Stan Store and Teachable together?
Yes, you could link a Stan storefront to Teachable courses, using Stan for social selling and calls and Teachable for course delivery. You would then pay for two subscriptions and manage customers in two places, which is worth pricing against a single platform.
Which is better for coaches who run programs?
Neither Stan Store nor Teachable has programs with client tasks, habits or daily check-ins, contracts or client records. A coaching platform such as Coachful covers those alongside courses, booking and payments in one login.
What is Coachful's free white-glove service?
It is a build service included on every Coachful plan: you describe a website, funnel, program, course outline, email sequence or similar, attach references, and the Coachful team builds it in your account, usually within about 24 hours. It does not include video recording, logo design, ads or ongoing marketing.
Does Coachful support PayPal?
No. Coachful takes payments through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account, including Apple Pay and Google Pay, subscriptions and payment plans. If PayPal is essential, Stan Store and Teachable both support it.
Can I move from Stan Store or Teachable to Coachful?
Yes. You can export customers or students to CSV from both tools, and Coachful imports clients, programs and content for you during onboarding. Course videos from Teachable need to be downloaded manually first.
