7 Best Membership Platforms for Business Coaches (2026 Guide)

7 Best Membership Platforms for Business Coaches (2026 Guide)

The best membership platforms for business coaches do more than lock videos behind a paywall. A business coach's membership is usually a working group: founders paying monthly to get a framework, a weekly call, a peer table and someone holding them to their numbers. So the deciding question is simple. Will the platform carry a member from application to signed agreement to weekly accountability to renewal, or will it only host the content and leave the rest to four other tools?

Our pick is Coachful, because it puts the membership, the 1:1 and group sessions, the agreement, the payments and the between-call check-ins behind one login for you and one branded app for your members. We make Coachful, so weigh that, and read the scenario picks below: if your membership is really a course library or a large free-to-paid community, one of the other six may fit better, and we say exactly when.

What do business coaches actually need from a membership platform?

Business coaches need a platform that handles recurring billing, gated content and a peer community, and also the accountability and client records that make a business membership worth renewing. A library of recordings alone rarely keeps a founder paying past month three.

Look at how a typical business coaching membership is built. There is often a tiered ladder: a lower-priced membership with a framework course and monthly group call, a higher tier with weekly hot seats and a small mastermind pod, and a 1:1 or done-with-you layer at the top. Members are owners of agencies, consultancies, trades businesses, ecommerce stores or service practices. They join for outcomes they can measure: a clearer offer, more qualified leads, higher prices, a hire, a cleaner quarter.

That shapes the requirements:

  • An application and a call before payment. Most business memberships above the entry tier are sold through an application form and a discovery call, not a buy button. The platform should hold the lead record from that form forward.
  • Agreements that define scope. A business coach is not the member's accountant, attorney or licensed financial adviser. The coaching agreement should say so, and it should be signed before the first call, not buried in a checkout footnote. See coaching contracts for how that works in practice.
  • Recurring billing with options. Monthly subscriptions, annual prepay, payment plans for a 12-week accelerator, and coupons for alumni rolling into a continuity tier.
  • Weekly accountability, not just content. Members set a weekly target (calls booked, proposals sent, revenue closed) and report back. If the platform cannot ask for that between calls, the coach ends up chasing people in a spreadsheet.
  • Cohorts and pods. A mastermind of eight to twelve founders works because the group is small and stable. The platform should group members by cohort or tier automatically.
  • Working documents. Offer builders, pricing worksheets, hiring scorecards, SOP templates and swipe files. Business members download and fill these, so downloads and forms matter as much as video.
  • Live calls with replays. Hot seats, workshops and guest expert sessions, recorded and filed where members can find them.
  • A way to spot churn early. A founder who stops checking in usually cancels a few weeks later. Seeing who has gone quiet is part of retention.

One scope point worth putting in writing: business coaching covers strategy, accountability and skills. Tax treatment, entity choice, employment law and investment decisions belong with an accountant, attorney or licensed adviser, and your agreement and onboarding should send members there when those questions come up. The mastermind group format has a long history in business circles precisely because peers share experience, not regulated advice.

If you want the general version of this comparison, our parent guide to the best membership platforms for coaches covers the category across niches, and the membership site model for coaches explains service levels and costs.

Build your platform

Which membership platform fits which business coaching scenario?

Coachful is the best overall pick for a business coach whose membership includes coaching, not just content. The other six each win a narrower scenario.

Ranking criteria: one login for the whole member journey, accountability between calls, total monthly stack cost including platform fees, and setup effort (including Coachful's free white-glove build).

How did we choose these seven platforms?

We started from what business coaches sell (accelerators, masterminds, continuity memberships, course plus call bundles) and kept platforms that can bill a recurring membership and host gated content. Then we weighted four things.

  1. One login for the member journey. Can a founder apply, sign, pay, attend, check in and renew without being passed between tools?
  2. Between-session delivery. Does the platform support weekly goals, check-ins or habits, or only content and comments?
  3. Total cost. Subscription plus platform fees on sales plus the separate tools you would still need (scheduler, e-signature, email).
  4. Setup effort. How long until a working membership is live, and whether anyone will build it for you.

We did not run hands-on tests for this guide. Facts about other vendors come from their published pricing and product pages as listed in October 2026, and from public reviewer ratings where we mention them. Platform limits marked as older profile data reflect what we recorded in September 2026.

1. Coachful: best overall for business coaches who coach inside the membership

Wins when: your membership is a coaching program with a community attached, and you want applications, agreements, payments, weekly accountability, cohorts, courses and calls in one account.

Coachful is a coaching platform. One membership covers booking, payments, contracts, program delivery with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant. You get one login; your members get one app with your branding inside the Coachful app. It is built for coaches who deliver programs, not just sessions, and for solo coaches growing into a small team.

How it runs a business membership end to end

The member journey for a business coach usually starts with an application. Coachful has application, booking, lead-magnet and checkout funnels with pixel and UTM tracking, and the applicant lands in your prospects list. From there you book the discovery call through a booking page with availability rules, buffers, minimum notice and time-zone detection, with two-way Google, Apple/iCloud or Outlook calendar sync and a built-in video room or an auto-created Zoom, Meet or Teams link. Intake questions on the booking form can ask for current revenue, team size and the one bottleneck they want fixed.

Once the founder says yes, a coaching agreement with e-signature goes out before the first call and is stored on their client record. Payment runs through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account: subscriptions for the monthly tier, payment plans for an accelerator, one-time payments for a VIP day, order bumps, coupons and refunds, with Apple Pay, Google Pay and Stripe Tax. There is a 0% Coachful platform fee on your sales (since August 2026); you pay only Stripe or Razorpay processing.

Coachful client Programs view with an enrolled group program and its current week
The demo Programs view in Coachful shows an enrolled group program, its current week, members and the way into the program.

Enrollment is where Coachful differs most from course-first platforms. A multi-week program can carry weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars and streaks. For a business membership that might be a weekly "numbers" check-in (leads, calls, proposals, closed revenue), a Monday priority goal and a Friday reflection. Enrolling a member in the program creates the cohort group automatically, so each intake of your accelerator gets its own pod without manual sorting.

Community, calls and content in the same app

The community side has a feed, group chat, direct messages and video events, plus group calls and webinars for hot seats and workshops. Courses support modules, lessons, drip and completion tracking, and you can add downloads, videos, books, AI tools, events and bundles, all delivered into the member's branded home and app. More than 40 program templates and 48 course templates with quizzes give you a starting structure.

Here is a short walkthrough of how programs are built and delivered:

Retention is visible on the client record: goals, check-ins, habits, notes, intake answers, tags, payments and sessions sit together, and each member carries a status of thriving, active, quiet or at risk. When a founder goes quiet, you see it before the cancellation email. Michelle, the built-in AI assistant, works from that live data: she briefs you before a session, summarises recorded sessions, drafts emails and builds programs. Questions and planning are included in your Coachful membership; confirmed builds and changes use AI credits. You can also set up an AI Coach, an AI version of you that selected members can chat with between calls.

For coaches who bring in associate coaches, team plans (Studio and Agency) add coach seats with per-coach availability and staff permissions, and multi-coach session types can assign by round-robin or least-busy. Email lists, broadcasts and multi-step sequences with triggers, delays, branching and A/B splits handle nurture and renewal reminders. Current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients. Monthly plans cancel in one click, lower plans cap the number of clients, and Pro is unlimited.

Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. From Create, choose "We'll build it for you" and describe what you need: a membership sales page, an application funnel, a 12-week accelerator program, a course outline and written material, an onboarding email sequence. Attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files (logo, brand guide, existing copy). The Coachful team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours, on every plan. Nothing is invented: no fake testimonials, credentials or prices, and gaps are left for you to fill. One recent build was for a business mentor for beauty professionals, who got a 12-week mentorship sales page, a free start-up-guide funnel and rewritten follow-up emails. It does not include recording your videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing. More detail in our white-glove service guide.

Where Coachful is not the right fit

Coachful has no PayPal, and there is no permanent no-cost tier. It is not a course marketplace, has no third-party plugins, no Salesforce or HubSpot integration and no multi-stage deal board for a large sales team. The member app ships under the Coachful listing with your branding, not under your own App Store account. The affiliate program tracks links, clicks, conversions and revenue, but payouts are recorded manually rather than sent by Coachful, which matters if you plan a big referral push among members. It is not HIPAA-certified, which rarely matters for business coaching but is worth knowing. More on the niche setup at Coachful for business coaches.

2. Kajabi: best for a big evergreen course library sold through funnels

The scenario it wins: you already have a signature business framework recorded as a large course, a sizeable email list, and a funnel-led launch model, and the coaching layer is light.

Kajabi homepage promoting its course, community and website tools for creators
Kajabi's homepage in October 2026.

Kajabi is a course, community, website, funnel and email platform for selling knowledge products. For a business coach, that means a framework course, a membership product, a community and launch funnels under one roof, with a long-established template library. Coaches who sell an evergreen "scale your agency" program with a monthly group call often land here.

As listed in October 2026, Basic is $179/mo ($143/mo annual) with 5 products, 2,500 contacts, 1 community, 1 website, 2 admin users and 0 AI credits. Growth is $249/mo ($199/mo annual) with 50 products, 25,000 contacts and 500 AI credits. Pro is $499/mo ($399/mo annual) with unlimited products, 100,000 contacts and 3 communities. Kajabi Payments in the US charges 2.9% + $0.30 on Basic, 2.8% + $0.30 on Growth and 2.7% + $0.30 on Pro. If you use another processor (excluding PayPal), Kajabi adds 2% on Basic, 1% on Growth or 0.5% on Pro on top of that processor's fees. The standard trial is 14 days.

Limits for business coaches: coaching in Kajabi is products and communities, not per-member plans. There is no habit tracking or daily check-in, so weekly accountability on numbers lives somewhere else. The Basic cap of 2,500 contacts and 5 products gets tight once you split an entry membership, an accelerator, a mastermind and a couple of lead magnets. On Trustpilot, Kajabi shows 3.4 from 2,347 reviews (seen October 2026).

Pick it over Coachful if your business is mostly content sales to a large list, your coaching is a light group call on top, and you value Kajabi's course and funnel maturity over built-in accountability.

3. Circle: best for a premium mastermind community

Where it shines: a high-touch peer community where the conversation between founders is the product, organised into spaces by topic, tier or cohort.

Circle homepage introducing its community platform for paid memberships
Circle's homepage in October 2026.

Circle is a community platform with courses, events, live streams and paid memberships. For a business coach running a mastermind, spaces for "wins", "hot seat requests", "hiring" and "offers" keep threads tidy, and events handle monthly workshops. Circle's layout suits a membership where founders talk to each other daily.

Circle lists Professional at $89/mo billed annually with 3 admins and 10 moderators, Business at $199/mo billed annually with 5 admins and 15 moderators, and Scale at $419/mo billed annually, as listed in October 2026. Monthly prices were not shown in our data. Circle charges a fee on payments of 2% on Professional, 1% on Business and Scale, and 0.5% on custom-priced Circle Plus, plus Stripe processing. There is a 14-day free trial on Professional, Business and Scale with no credit card required.

Gaps to plan around: no 1:1 scheduling or client management back office, and no per-member habits, check-ins or coaching plans. A mastermind that also includes monthly 1:1 calls needs a separate scheduler, contract tool and somewhere to keep notes. Branded mobile apps are only on the custom-priced Circle Plus. For deeper community comparisons, see community platforms for business coaches.

Pick it over Coachful if peer discussion is the core of what members pay for, 1:1 work is rare, and you want Circle's space structure and are comfortable running sessions and agreements in other tools.

4. Mighty Networks: best for a networked membership with several hosts

Choose it for this situation: you run a larger business network with multiple hosts, regional chapters or many live events, and member-to-member networking matters more than individual coaching.

Mighty Networks homepage introducing its community, courses and events platform
Mighty Networks's homepage in October 2026.

Mighty Networks combines community, courses and events with Mighty-branded member apps. A business coach running a membership with guest experts, chapter leads and weekly livestreams gets hosts, moderators and livestream hours built into each plan.

As listed in October 2026, Launch is $95/mo ($79/mo annual) with 3 hosts, 10 moderators, 200 GB storage and 20 livestream hours a month for up to 100 attendees. Scale is $215/mo ($179/mo annual) with 5 hosts, 15 moderators, 500 GB and 30 livestream hours for up to 200 attendees. Growth is $354/mo on annual billing with 10 hosts and 1,000-attendee livestreams. The platform fee is 2% on Launch, 1% on Scale and 0.5% on Growth and Mighty Pro, plus Stripe processing. The free trial is 14 days with no credit card, and trials include Growth plan features.

What it leaves out: no 1:1 scheduling, invoicing or contracts, and no per-member habits, check-ins or private coaching plans. Your own branded app is only on custom-priced Mighty Pro. Trustpilot shows 3.3 from 219 reviews (seen October 2026).

Pick it over Coachful if your membership is a network first, with several hosts and frequent large livestreams, and individual coaching is a separate offer you sell elsewhere.

5. Thinkific: best for a certification-style business academy

The case for it: you teach a structured business curriculum to many students, perhaps licensing a method to other consultants, and need assessments and a course-first student experience.

Thinkific homepage introducing its online course and learning platform
Thinkific's homepage in October 2026.

Thinkific is a course platform with communities, memberships and coaching or webinar products. For a business coach building an academy (for example a "certified growth consultant" track), its student limits and course structure fit better than a coaching platform's client caps.

As listed in October 2026, Start is $109/mo ($82/mo annual) with 10,000 current students, 2 admins, 1 community with 10 spaces and 5 live community events. Grow is $219/mo ($164/mo annual) with 6 admins and 3 communities. Expand is $499/mo ($374/mo annual). Prices rose about 10% on August 13, 2026. Thinkific charges no transaction fee when you use Thinkific Payments, at a rate it describes as in line with other processors at 2.9%; third-party Stripe or PayPal gateways carry an extra per-plan fee not listed on the page. There is a 30-day free trial on every self-serve plan.

Watch for: per our September 2026 profile, there is no built-in 1:1 scheduling, so coaching relies on external booking links. There are no member habits, daily check-ins or per-member plans. A branded mobile app is a $199/mo add-on. Trustpilot shows 1.8 from 868 reviews (seen October 2026). Our course platforms for business coaches guide covers this side in more depth.

Pick it over Coachful if you are selling a large-scale course or certification to thousands of students and coaching is a small add-on rather than the product.

6. Podia: best low-cost storefront for a single framework course

Good fit when: you are early, you have one framework course, a few downloads and a small group, and you want to start charging this month with minimal setup.

Podia homepage introducing its storefront for courses, downloads and community
Podia's homepage in October 2026.

Podia is a simple storefront for courses, downloads, webinars, coaching sessions and community. A new business coach can list a "pricing your services" mini-course, a template pack and a monthly community quickly.

As listed in October 2026, Mover is $49/mo ($42/mo annual) with 50 products, 25 community spaces and 100 email subscribers included, and a 5% Podia transaction fee. Shaker is $99/mo ($84/mo annual) with 150 products, 500 email subscribers and 0% Podia fee. Earthquaker is $179/mo ($150/mo annual) with unlimited products and 1,000 email subscribers. Stripe or PayPal processing applies on top. The trial is 14 days with full access and no credit card.

Trade-offs: the email subscriber allowances are small for a business coach who builds a list through LinkedIn content or webinars. Per our September 2026 profile, Podia has no mobile app and no native video calls. There are no member habits, check-ins or per-member plans. The 5% fee on Mover adds up quickly on a recurring membership. Trustpilot shows 4.1 from 153 reviews (seen October 2026).

Pick it over Coachful if you only need to sell one course and a small community right now, do not need agreements or accountability tools, and want the simplest storefront possible.

7. Skool: best for a gamified free-to-paid community funnel

Its niche: you grow by running a free community, then upgrade engaged members into a paid group, and leaderboards help keep activity high.

Skool homepage introducing its community, classroom and calendar groups
Skool's homepage in October 2026.

Skool puts community, classroom and calendar in one group, with gamified leaderboards. Some business coaches use a free Skool group as top-of-funnel and a paid group for their accelerator.

As listed in October 2026, Hobby is $9/mo ($7.5/mo annual) and Pro is $99/mo ($82.5/mo annual), both with unlimited members, courses, videos and live calls. Fees are high on Hobby: 10% + 30¢ on all transactions. Pro charges 2.9% + 30¢ up to $899 and 3.9% + 30¢ above $900, which matters for business memberships priced in the hundreds. Payments run only through Skool Payments, with weekly payouts. The pricing page shows "TRY FOR FREE" buttons, but trial length and card requirement were not stated when we checked.

Missing pieces: no custom-domain website, funnels, email automation or public API, and no member records, intake forms, habits or check-ins. Trustpilot shows 1.6 from 54 reviews (seen October 2026).

Pick it over Coachful if your growth model depends on a large no-cost community with gamification, and you are happy running applications, agreements and email elsewhere.

How do the seven platforms compare feature by feature?

Only Coachful covers the full business coaching membership loop on its own; the others cover content and community well and leave sessions, agreements and accountability to other tools.

Platform fees deserve a quick sum. As an example, if a membership brings in $10,000 a month, a 2% platform fee is $200 a month on top of card processing, and Skool's Hobby rate of 10% would be $1,000. Card processing applies on every platform, including Coachful.

What does a full business coaching membership stack cost each month?

A one-tool stack is usually cheapest once you count the scheduler, e-signature and email tools a content platform still needs. Here are three example stacks for a business coach with about 40 members.

Example stackToolsMonthly subscription as listedStill needed separately
Coachful (all-in-one)Coachful onlyPro: $99/month with unlimited clientsCard processing only; 0% platform fee

We have not priced the extra scheduler, e-signature and tracker tools because the choice varies; add your own quotes to compare like for like. If you are still smaller, the cheapest plan that covers 15 members is here: Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients. For payment processing choices, see payment platforms for business coaches.

How would a business coach set up a membership in Coachful?

The setup below is an example for a coach selling a monthly growth membership with a 12-week accelerator on top. Each step uses features listed above.

  1. Request the build. Open Create, choose "We'll build it for you" and ask for a membership sales page, an application funnel and a 12-week accelerator program. Attach your logo, brand colours and existing framework notes.
  2. Pick a site style. Start from one of the 30 homepage templates or use Import website. Business templates such as Meridian suit a clean, professional look.
  3. Set up the offers. Create the monthly membership as a subscription, the accelerator with a payment plan, and an alumni coupon for members rolling into continuity. Connect Stripe Connect or Razorpay.
  4. Write the agreement. Add a coaching agreement that defines scope (strategy and accountability, not tax, legal or financial advice) and send it for e-signature before the first call.
  5. Build the weekly rhythm. In the program, add a Monday priority goal, a Friday numbers check-in and a short weekly reflection. Add a daily habit if your method uses one, such as an outreach block.
  6. Add the content. Load the framework course with drip by week, plus downloads such as an offer worksheet and a pricing calculator template.
  7. Open the community. Enrolment creates each cohort's group automatically; schedule monthly hot-seat calls as group events.
  8. Automate nurture. Set an email sequence for applicants who have not booked, and one for members nearing renewal.
  9. Review weekly. Check members marked quiet or at risk, and ask Michelle for a briefing before each call.

If you sell the membership through webinars, our guide to webinar platforms for business coaches covers that channel, and email marketing platforms for business coaches covers list building. For finding members in the first place, see platforms to get clients for business coaches.

What mistakes do business coaches make when choosing a membership platform?

The most common mistake is buying for content when members are paying for accountability. Others follow from that.

  • Selling a mastermind on a course platform. The recordings get watched once; the peer table and the weekly numbers are what renew.
  • Ignoring platform fees. A 2% to 10% cut on recurring revenue compounds every month.
  • Skipping the agreement. Without a signed scope, founders may treat you as their accountant or lawyer. Put referral language in writing.
  • One giant community. Mixing new members with long-standing founders dilutes both. Separate cohorts or tiers.
  • No early warning on churn. If you cannot see who stopped checking in, you find out at cancellation.
  • Overbuilding before launch. A framework course, one weekly call and a check-in are enough to start; add tiers once members ask.

Which membership platform should a business coach choose?

Choose Coachful if your membership includes real coaching: applications, agreements, weekly accountability, cohorts and calls. It keeps the whole member journey in one login, charges no platform fee on your sales, and the white-glove team will build your first version for free. Choose Kajabi for a large course business, Circle for a premium discussion-first mastermind, Mighty Networks for a multi-host network, Thinkific for a big academy, Podia for a very small start, or Skool for a gamified free-to-paid funnel.

FAQ

What is the best membership platform for business coaches?

For a membership that includes coaching, Coachful is our pick because it covers applications, agreements, billing, weekly check-ins, cohorts, community and courses in one account. If your membership is mostly a course library, Kajabi or Thinkific may fit better. If it is mostly peer discussion, look at Circle.

Can I run a mastermind and a lower-priced membership on the same platform?

Yes, on most of these platforms you can sell more than one tier. In Coachful, each program can create its own cohort group automatically, so the mastermind pod and the entry membership stay separate while sharing one community space if you want.

Do business coaches need a coaching agreement for a membership?

It is wise. An agreement sets expectations on calls, cancellations and scope, including that you do not give tax, legal or regulated financial advice. Laws vary by country and state, so have a local attorney review your template.

Which platforms charge a fee on membership sales?

As listed in October 2026, Circle and Mighty Networks charge 0.5% to 2% depending on plan, Podia charges 5% on Mover, Skool charges transaction fees on both plans, and Kajabi adds 0.5% to 2% if you use a processor other than Kajabi Payments. Coachful has a 0% platform fee; card processing applies everywhere.

What is Coachful's free white-glove service?

It is a build service included on every plan. You describe what you want (a membership sales page, an application funnel, a program or course outline) and attach links and files, and the Coachful team builds it inside your account, usually within about 24 hours. It does not include video recording, logo design, ads or ongoing marketing.

Can members track weekly business numbers between calls?

In Coachful, yes: programs can include weekly goals, daily tasks, habits and morning and evening check-ins, and you see each member's status. Kajabi, Circle, Mighty Networks, Thinkific, Podia and Skool do not offer per-member check-ins or habits.

Does Coachful accept PayPal?

No. Coachful takes payments through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account, with Apple Pay and Google Pay. If your members insist on PayPal, Podia or Thinkific support it as a gateway.

Can I bring in associate coaches to run pods?

Coachful's team plans (Studio and Agency) add coach seats with per-coach availability and staff permissions. Circle, Mighty Networks and Kajabi add admins or hosts by plan, but those roles manage community and content rather than 1:1 coaching calendars.

Is Skool good for business coaches?

It suits a coach growing through a large free community with leaderboards. It has no custom-domain website, funnels, email automation or member records, and payments carry Skool's transaction fees, so most business coaches pair it with other tools.
