7 Best Dubsado Alternatives for Coaches (2026 Guide)

The best Dubsado alternatives for coaches depend on one question: does your work end when the contract is signed and the invoice is paid, or does it continue between sessions? Dubsado is built for the first case. It handles inquiry forms, contracts, invoices, a scheduler and automated workflows well, but it has no programs, habits, check-ins, courses or client community, and by its own description it does not build websites and is not an email marketing platform. If your clients need something from you between calls, you need a different kind of tool, not just a cheaper copy of Dubsado.
Our pick is Coachful, because it keeps the Dubsado-style paperwork (booking, agreements, payments, invoices) and adds what coaches run in four or five other apps: programs with habits and check-ins, courses, community, a website with funnels, and email. We make Coachful, so we have tried to be specific about where the other six tools fit better. HoneyBook, 17hats, Paperbell, Practice Better, Moxie and Bonsai each win for a certain kind of practice, and the five-question checklist below tells you which one is yours.
Prices for other tools are as listed in October 2026. For a full breakdown of what you pay today, see our Dubsado pricing guide, and for the strengths and gaps in detail, the Dubsado review.

What should you ask before leaving Dubsado?
Start with how your practice actually runs, not with feature lists. These five questions separate a CRM swap from a platform change, and most coaches can answer them in ten minutes.
- Do clients need anything from you between sessions? Think of weekly goals, daily habits, morning or evening check-ins, worksheets, or lessons that unlock over time. If the answer is yes, a pure client-workflow CRM like Dubsado, HoneyBook, 17hats, Moxie or Bonsai will leave you running a second tool for delivery.
- Do you sell only one-to-one packages, or also groups, courses or a membership? Group programs need cohort spaces, group calls and shared content. Courses need modules, drip and completion tracking. Packages alone are simpler.
- Are you happy with your current website and email list? Dubsado sits beside a website and an email tool. If you pay for Squarespace or WordPress hosting and a separate email service, that cost belongs in the comparison.
- Do you handle health information that requires HIPAA safeguards, insurance billing or clinical charting? Coaching is not treatment, but some coaches also hold a clinical license and practise under it. That changes the shortlist entirely.
- How many clients will you carry, and how many people work in the account? Some tools cap clients by plan; others charge per user. Write down your number for today and for twelve months from now.
Two smaller questions are worth a note in the margin. Do your clients pay by PayPal? And do you bill by the hour for consulting work as well as coaching? Both narrow the field quickly.
Which Dubsado alternative fits your answers?
Match your answers to the row that describes your practice. If two rows fit, the higher-ranked tool usually covers more of your stack, while the lower one is cheaper or narrower.
| Tool | Choose it if your answers look like this | Main caveat |
|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Yes to between-session work; you sell packages plus groups, courses or a community; you want the website, email and payments in the same login | Not HIPAA-certified; no PayPal |
| HoneyBook | Sessions only; you want the closest like-for-like Dubsado replacement with proposals and a client portal | Payments run through HoneyBook's own processing |
| 17hats | Sessions only; you want contracts, invoices, questionnaires and workflows on one all-inclusive plan | Online scheduling with payment at booking is a paid add-on |
| Paperbell | One-to-one packages only; one coach; you want a simple checkout with contract, payment and booking together; clients pay by PayPal | No habits, check-ins, community or native app |
| Practice Better | You also work under a clinical license and need charting, HIPAA safeguards or insurance tools | No website or funnel builder; key features start on higher plans |
| Moxie | You mix coaching with consulting projects, track time and want a low monthly price | No coaching delivery layer |
| Bonsai | Consulting-heavy work with proposals, time tracking and project management; you work solo or with a small team | Priced per user; Basic has no invoicing |
If you are still unsure, go back to question one. It decides more than the other four combined.
How did we rank these seven tools?
We ranked for coaches, not for wedding photographers or web designers, who are Dubsado's other big audience. Picture a coach with 15 one-to-one clients and one eight-week group program. In Dubsado, that coach's inquiry form, contract, invoice and scheduler work fine. The group's weekly content lives in a course tool, the check-ins in a form app or a spreadsheet, the community in a Facebook group or Slack, the newsletter in an email service and the sales page on a website builder. Every new client gets five logins, and the coach pays five bills.
Ranking criteria: one login for the whole client journey, between-session delivery, total stack cost, and setup effort (including Coachful's free white-glove build).
| Tool | Rank | Best for | Entry price as listed | Between-session delivery |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | 1 | Coaches who deliver programs and want one platform for sales and delivery | Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients | Yes: programs, habits, check-ins, courses, community |
| HoneyBook | 2 | Session-based coaches who want a Dubsado-style CRM | $29/month billed annually (Starter) | No |
| 17hats | 3 | Solo coaches who want one all-inclusive admin plan | $60/month, or $600/year | No |
| Paperbell | 4 | Solo coaches selling one-to-one packages | $97/month, or $970/year | Partial: content in packages |
| Practice Better | 5 | Wellness practitioners who chart or need HIPAA | Free for 3 clients; Starter $35/month | Yes: programs, journaling |
| Moxie | 6 | Coach-consultants who track time and projects | $12/month, or $10/month billed annually | No |
| Bonsai | 7 | Consulting-heavy practices with proposals and time tracking | $15/user/month, or $9 billed annually | No |
We did not run each product ourselves for this comparison. The ranking draws on what each vendor documents on its pricing and feature pages and what public reviewers report. Direct substitutes for coaching software (Paperbell and Practice Better) sit in the middle because they cover coaching well but leave out pieces such as a website, funnels or habits that the top pick includes.
1. Coachful: the closest thing to replacing your whole stack

Coachful is a coaching platform where one subscription covers booking, payments, contracts, program delivery with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant. The coach has one login; the client gets one app with the coach's branding. It is built for coaches who deliver programs, not just sessions, for solo coaches growing into a small team, and for anyone currently paying for four to six tools. The company is based in Tallinn, Estonia, and has a Trustpilot score of 4.5 from 21 reviews.
From inquiry to signed agreement
The Dubsado part of your workflow moves across almost one for one. Booking pages carry availability rules, buffers, minimum notice and time-zone detection, with two-way Google, Apple/iCloud and Outlook calendar sync. Sessions get a built-in video room or an automatically created Zoom, Google Meet or Teams link. You can add intake questions to the booking form, charge for sessions or sell session credits, and send email reminders, plus SMS 24 hours before and WhatsApp one hour before once messaging is enabled. For practices with several coaches, session types can assign a host by round robin or by whoever is least busy.

Coaching agreements go out with e-signature before the first call and are stored on the client record, which covers what most coaches used Dubsado contracts for. Our guide to coaching contracts explains what to put in them. Payments run through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account: one-time charges, subscriptions, payment plans, order bumps, coupons, refunds, Apple Pay and Google Pay, with Stripe Tax available. Each transaction produces an invoice, and you can send manual invoices too. Since August 2026 there is no Coachful platform fee on payments; you pay only Stripe or Razorpay processing.

What clients get between calls
This is the part Dubsado never tried to do. You can build multi-week programs with weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars and streaks. Courses come with modules, lessons, drip release and completion tracking, and downloads, videos, books and events all land in the client's branded home and app. When someone enrolls in a group program, a cohort group is created automatically, alongside the community feed, group chat, direct messages and video events. The group coaching software page covers that side in more depth.

On your side, each client record holds goals, check-ins, habits, notes, intake answers, tags, payments, sessions and an AI briefing, and every client is marked thriving, active, quiet or at risk. That status is the early warning a CRM cannot give you, because a CRM only sees paperwork. This walkthrough shows a client journey from enrollment to the first weeks of a program:

The marketing pieces Dubsado leaves out
The website builder is section-based, with a blog, custom domain, SEO settings, 30 designed homepage templates and an option to import an existing site. Funnels cover booking, application, lead-magnet and checkout flows with pixels and UTM tracking, and there is a link-in-bio page that sells. Email lists, broadcasts and multi-step sequences with triggers, delays, branching and A/B splits are included in your Coachful membership, so you can retire a separate email tool. See email marketing for coaches for how sequences are set up.
Michelle, the built-in AI assistant, works from your live practice data: it builds programs, drafts emails and content, summarizes recorded sessions, briefs you before each call and can give optional private feedback on your coaching against ICF Core Competencies 3 to 8. Questions and planning are included in the membership; confirmed builds and changes use AI credits. If you are working toward an ICF credential, ICF hour tracking counts coaching hours and distinct clients against ACC, PCC and MCC thresholds and exports a client coaching log with paid and pro bono hours.
What it does not do
Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and offers no BAA, so it is not for clinical record-keeping or insurance billing. It does not take PayPal. The client app ships under the Coachful listing with your branding, not under your own App Store account. There is no multi-stage sales deal board for large teams, no Salesforce or HubSpot integration, and no routing forms that choose a host from form answers. The affiliate program tracks links, clicks, conversions and revenue, but payouts are recorded manually rather than sent by Coachful. No permanent free plan exists; you start with a free trial.
Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. From Create, the "We'll build it for you" option lets you describe what you want built: a website, funnel, offer or sales page, program, course outline, coaching flow, form, email sequence, link in bio, lead quiz, event or automation. You can attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files such as your logo, photos, brand guide or the copy from your old Dubsado forms. The Coachful team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours. Nothing is invented: no fake credentials, testimonials or prices, and gaps are left for you to fill. It does not include recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing. One recent build: a leadership coach with a Squarespace renewal days away got one clean homepage with a repeated "talk with me" button. Read more about the white-glove service.

Pricing is a flat monthly plan. Lower plans cap the number of clients, Pro is unlimited, team plans add coach seats, and monthly plans cancel in one click. Current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients. For a direct comparison, see Coachful vs Dubsado.
2. HoneyBook: the like-for-like CRM swap
HoneyBook is the tool most coaches compare with Dubsado first, and for good reason: both are client-management CRMs for service businesses built around proposals, contracts, invoices, a scheduler and a client portal. If your practice is session-based and you only want a different interface or different automation logic, HoneyBook is the shortest move.

How the plans break down
As listed in October 2026, Starter is $29 a month billed annually (the pricing page we read did not show a monthly-billing figure for Starter), with unlimited clients and projects and two live lead forms. Essentials is $59 a month, or $49 billed annually, and adds up to two team members and ten lead forms. Premium is $129 a month, or $109 billed annually, with unlimited team members and lead forms and support for multiple companies. A 30-day free trial needs no credit card. HoneyBook raised prices in February 2025, so older reviews quote lower figures.

Where coaches hit the ceiling
The scheduler and automations are not on Starter, which mirrors Dubsado's own split between Starter and Premier. Most coaches therefore land on Essentials. Payments must run through HoneyBook's own processing, and the card rate is inconsistent on its own page: the FAQ says 2.7% + 10¢ while the plan comparison says 2.9% + 25¢. ACH costs 1.5% and instant deposit 1%. Like Dubsado, it has no programs, courses, habits, check-ins or community, so the delivery stack stays where it is. Trustpilot shows 4.1 from 748 reviews. Our HoneyBook vs Dubsado comparison goes deeper, and if HoneyBook is already on your list, see the HoneyBook alternatives too.
Pick it over Coachful if your coaching is purely session-based, you send detailed proposals before every engagement, and you are happy to keep a separate website, email tool and course platform.
3. 17hats: one plan with the admin pieces included
17hats targets solo business owners who want contacts, projects, documents and workflows in a single subscription. Its pricing page openly courts people leaving Dubsado and HoneyBook, with a comparison link for Dubsado switchers.
The headline offer, and a confusing grid
The pricing page we fetched in October 2026 leads with one all-inclusive plan: $60 a month, $600 a year, or $800 for two years, all in USD, with a 7-day free trial you can restart and a 30-day money-back guarantee. It also advertises half off the first year if you skip the trial and buy immediately. Lower on the same page, the comparison grid still shows three levels with different limits, for example 20, 35 or unlimited documents a month and 1, 3 or 20 lead capture forms. Ask support which limits apply before you commit.
What a coach would actually use
Contracts with e-signature, quotes, invoices, questionnaires with if/then logic, document reminders and to-do workflows cover the Dubsado-style onboarding sequence. Payments run through Stripe or Square, with payment schedules, saved cards and a recurring billing module. Basic online scheduling handles one service; advanced scheduling, which adds payment at booking and automatic Zoom links, is listed as a $10-a-month add-on. Bank connect for expenses costs $5 a month. There is a mobile app, a client portal for documents, and Zapier for connecting an email tool. There is nothing for programs, habits, courses or community.
Pick it over Coachful if you mainly want an admin back office with bookkeeping reports such as profit and loss and aged receivables, and your clients do not need anything from you between sessions.
4. Paperbell: simple packages for solo coaches
Paperbell was built for coaches from the start, and it shows in the checkout: a client picks a package, signs the contract, pays and books in one flow. For a solo coach selling one-to-one packages, that is cleaner than stitching Dubsado's forms and workflows together.

One price, unlimited clients
As listed in October 2026, Paperbell has a single paid tier at $97 a month, or $970 a year, per coach, with unlimited clients and sessions and no platform transaction fee; Stripe and PayPal processing fees apply. Its help center describes a 7-day trial, and paid plans carry a 30-day money-back guarantee. Extra accounts for the same company get 15% off, according to its FAQ, because each account holds one service provider.
Features, and the gaps reviewers mention
You get a branded coaching website with a custom URL, scheduling with time-zone detection and reminders, Google, Apple and Outlook calendar sync, Zoom links, contracts tied to package purchase, intake forms and surveys, group programs and workshops, digital downloads and Zapier. Payments cover subscriptions, payment plans, coupons, pay-what-you-can and setup fees, through Stripe or PayPal. Public reviewers praise its simplicity and support. The gaps are consistent: no habit tracking or daily check-ins, no community, no goal tracking, no native mobile app, and only one coach per account. Paperbell's FAQ states it is not HIPAA compliant. G2 shows 4.7 from 63 reviews, Capterra 4.7 from 150 and Trustpilot 3.9 from 13. More options are in our Paperbell alternatives roundup.
Pick it over Coachful if you sell only one-to-one packages, your clients want to pay by PayPal, and you value the fewest possible settings over between-session tools.
5. Practice Better: for coaches who also chart
Practice Better is practice-management software for dietitians, nutritionists and functional medicine practitioners. Coaching is not treatment, and most coaches do not need clinical software. If you also hold a clinical license and work with diagnosed conditions under it, though, charting, protected health information and insurance billing change what you can use, and Practice Better states HIPAA, PIPEDA, PHIPA and GDPR compliance. The HHS guidance for professionals explains who HIPAA covers; check with an attorney if you are unsure whether it applies to you.

Plans are tiered by client count
As listed in October 2026: Sprout is free for 3 clients; Starter is $35 a month ($25 billed annually) for 10 clients; Professional is $69 ($59 annually) for 300 clients and adds group scheduling, fixed-date programs, payment plans and Zapier; Plus is $99 ($89 annually) for unlimited clients with evergreen programs, portal branding, a custom URL and 750 SMS; Team is $155 ($145 annually) for two practitioners, plus $50 for each additional one. Add-ons raise the bill, including AI charting from $10 a month.
Strong on clinical depth, light on marketing
The client portal runs on web, iOS and Android, with booking, messaging, forms, programs, food and lifestyle journaling, and sync with Apple Health, Fitbit, Garmin and Oura. Notes support SOAP and similar formats, and invoices support superbills and insurance claim exports. There is no website or funnel builder: booking widgets embed into a separate site, and email is for program sequences rather than marketing. Capterra reviewers mention a learning curve and slow ticket-based support. If clinical work is not part of your practice, the health coach tools on Coachful for health coaches are closer to what you need, and our Practice Better alternatives list covers the trade-offs.
Pick it over Coachful if you need stated HIPAA compliance, clinical charting, wearable sync or insurance billing.
6. Moxie: low-cost admin for coach-consultants
Moxie is business software for freelancers that lists coaches and consultants among its audiences. It suits a coach who also sells hourly consulting or done-for-you projects and wants time tracking and project management beside contracts and invoices.
Three tiers, all under fifty dollars
According to the pricing page we fetched in October 2026, Starter is $12 a month, or $10 billed annually ($120 a year), and includes client and project management, invoicing and payments, proposals, quotes and contracts, time tracking, a sales pipeline, basic accounting, a form builder, meeting schedulers, a combined calendar and inbox, and the Moxie AI assistant. Pro is $25 a month, or $20 billed annually, and adds a custom domain, a white-labelled client portal, workflow automations, a business phone line in the US, Canada and the UK, Zapier, Make and API access, and QuickBooks. Teams is $40 a month, or $385 a year, for up to five team members. The page title advertises a 14-day free trial.
What is missing for coaching
Moxie has no programs, courses, habits, check-ins or community. Workflow automation, the feature most Dubsado users rely on, sits on Pro rather than Starter. Its scheduler handles meetings, but you would still need a website builder for anything beyond a portal domain, and an email marketing tool.
Pick it over Coachful if most of your revenue is project or hourly consulting, you track time against client work, and you want the lowest monthly bill for admin alone.
7. Bonsai: proposals and projects, priced per person
Bonsai is business management software for freelancers and agencies, with proposals, contracts, invoices, time tracking and project management. For a business or executive coach whose engagements look like consulting projects, it covers the paperwork Dubsado handled.

The per-user maths
Every plan is priced per user, as listed in October 2026: Basic is $15 a month ($9 billed annually), Essentials $25 ($19), Premium $39 ($29), and Elite $59 ($49) with a minimum of three users. Basic leaves out invoicing and payments, so most coaches would start at Essentials. A 7-day trial lets you start without a card. Bonsai Payments card fees were 2.9% + $0.30 in its help center, with a 1% platform fee if you use your own Stripe or PayPal where Bonsai Payments is available; we could not re-read that page today, so confirm current rates before you switch. Trustpilot shows 4.3 from 641 reviews.
Gaps for a coaching practice
There are no courses, community, client habits, check-ins or coaching programs. A custom domain is listed as expected in 2026 rather than available. If you add an assistant or an associate coach, the bill grows with each seat.
Pick it over Coachful if your coaching is sold as consulting projects with proposals, retainers and time tracking, and you never run programs or groups.
What do these tools cost at 5, 15 and 40 clients?
Monthly billing for one coach, using the cheapest plan that includes scheduling and automation where the vendor gates them. Prices for other tools are as listed in October 2026; the last column is what you would still pay for elsewhere. Dubsado is included as the baseline.
| Tool | 5 clients | 15 clients | 40 clients | Still needed separately |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients | Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients | Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients | Nothing for the core stack; video recording and ads are on you |
| Dubsado (baseline) | $55 (Premier) | $55 | $55 | Website, email marketing, course or program tool, community |
| HoneyBook | $59 (Essentials) | $59 | $59 | Website, email marketing, program tool, community |
| 17hats | $60, plus $10 for advanced scheduling | $60 plus $10 | $60 plus $10 | Website, email marketing, program tool, community |
| Paperbell | $97 | $97 | $97 | Email marketing, community, habit or check-in tool |
| Practice Better | $35 (Starter, 10 clients) | $69 (Professional) | $69 (Professional) | Website, funnels, email marketing |
| Moxie | $25 (Pro) | $25 | $25 | Website, email marketing, program tool, community |
| Bonsai | $25 (Essentials, per user) | $25 | $25 | Website, email marketing, program tool, community |
The raw numbers favour the cheaper CRMs at every client count, but the last column is the real cost. A coach running a group program on Dubsado typically also pays for a website host, an email service and a course or community app. Add those bills to any row before comparing, and use annual billing figures only if you are sure you will stay a year. Dubsado's prices apply to subscribers since December 1, 2025; earlier subscribers keep their old rates, which is worth checking before you assume you will save.

Which red flags and switching costs should you plan for?
Switching platforms costs time more than money. These are the traps coaches most often hit when leaving Dubsado, in rough order of pain.

Red flags in a new tool
- Gated basics. Dubsado Starter has no scheduler or workflows, HoneyBook Starter has no scheduler or automations, and Moxie keeps workflow automation on Pro. Price the plan you will actually use.
- Locked payment processing. HoneyBook requires its own processing. If you want to keep your Stripe account and its customer history, choose a tool that connects to it.
- Client caps and seat pricing. Practice Better tiers by client count; Bonsai charges per user. Model month twelve, not month one.
- Annual prepay before the trial ends. Several pages offer discounts for paying upfront or skipping the trial. A trial with your real forms and one real client is worth more than the discount.
- A compliance mismatch. If you need HIPAA, most tools on this list, Coachful included, are the wrong choice. If you do not, paying for clinical software buys features you will not use.
What moves easily and what you rebuild
| Data in Dubsado | How it leaves | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Contacts | CSV export with fields you choose | Export everything, including tags and custom fields |
| Invoices and bookkeeping | Exportable | Export a full history for your accountant before cancelling |
| Signed contracts | Saved one by one from each project | Keep a copy of every signed contract and attach it to the new client record |
| Forms, templates and workflows | Not portable | Copy the text and rebuild; budget time for this |
| Active payment plans | Billed from your Dubsado account | Let them finish in Dubsado or re-enroll clients in the new tool |
Dubsado's own documentation describes migration into Dubsado, not out of it, so plan a short overlap where both accounts are active. In Coachful, clients, programs and content are imported for you during onboarding, and the Agreements tab has a drop area for signed PDFs, so your existing contracts stay attached to each client. For a step-by-step version of the onboarding sequence, read how to run client onboarding without Dubsado.

The slowest part of any switch is rebuilding forms, sales pages and email sequences. On Coachful, you can hand that work to the white-glove team: paste the text from your Dubsado questionnaires and old pages into the request, attach your logo and brand guide, and the build appears in your account, usually within about 24 hours. If you leave, Coachful exports your full client data as a ZIP (roster, notes, check-ins, goals, habits, sessions and form responses), plus your courses.

Which Dubsado alternative should a coach pick?
If your clients need anything between sessions, pick Coachful. It replaces Dubsado's contracts, invoices, booking and automations and adds the programs, habits, check-ins, courses, community, website and email that Dubsado users usually pay for elsewhere, with a free white-glove build to shorten the move. It is not the right choice if you need HIPAA or PayPal.
If you only want a different CRM for one-to-one sessions, HoneyBook is the closest swap and 17hats the most all-inclusive admin plan. Paperbell suits solo coaches selling simple packages, especially with PayPal clients. Practice Better is for practitioners who chart under a clinical license. Moxie and Bonsai fit coaches whose work looks more like consulting than coaching. For more context, see our Dubsado alternative overview and the full coaching software guide.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best Dubsado alternative for coaches?
For most coaches, Coachful, because it covers Dubsado's paperwork and the between-session delivery Dubsado lacks: programs, habits, check-ins, courses and community, plus a website and email. If your practice is purely session-based, HoneyBook is the closest like-for-like CRM. If you need HIPAA, look at Practice Better instead.
Is HoneyBook better than Dubsado for coaches?
Neither was built for coaching; both are client-management CRMs for service businesses. HoneyBook has a longer trial and a larger review base, while Dubsado lets you use Stripe, PayPal or Square. Both gate scheduling and automations behind their middle plan, so compare Dubsado Premier with HoneyBook Essentials.
Can I move my clients out of Dubsado?
Yes, contacts export to CSV with the fields you choose, and invoices and bookkeeping data can be exported too. Forms, templates and workflows are not portable, so you will rebuild them. Keep a copy of every signed contract and attach it to each client in the new tool.
Does Coachful replace Dubsado's contracts, invoices and scheduler?
Yes. Coaching agreements with e-signature, booking pages with calendar sync and reminders, and payments through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account with an invoice per transaction are all included in your Coachful membership. Manual invoices are available too. What it does not offer is PayPal.
What is Coachful's free white-glove service?
Every plan includes a free build service: you describe a website, funnel, program, course outline, form or email sequence, attach up to 8 links and 10 files, and the Coachful team builds it inside your account, usually within about 24 hours. It does not invent credentials, testimonials or prices, and it does not cover video recording, logo design or ads. It is a practical way to rebuild Dubsado forms and pages without doing it yourself.
Is there a cheaper alternative to Dubsado?
On sticker price, yes. As listed in October 2026, Moxie Starter is $12 a month and Bonsai Basic is $15 per user, though Bonsai Basic has no invoicing and Moxie keeps automations on Pro. Practice Better's Sprout plan is free for three clients. Remember to add the website, email and course tools that CRMs leave out.
Which Dubsado alternatives accept PayPal?
Paperbell accepts Stripe and PayPal, and Bonsai's help center has described connecting PayPal with a 1% platform fee where Bonsai Payments is available. HoneyBook requires its own processing, and 17hats uses Stripe or Square. Coachful does not support PayPal; it uses Stripe Connect or Razorpay.
Do coaches need HIPAA-compliant software?
Most coaches do not, because coaching is not treatment and many coaches are not covered entities. If you work under a clinical license, bill insurance or store protected health information, you probably do, and you should check with an attorney. In that case choose a tool that states HIPAA compliance and will sign a BAA; Practice Better states HIPAA compliance, while Coachful is not HIPAA-certified.
Can I run group coaching programs in a Dubsado alternative?
Dubsado-style CRMs such as HoneyBook, 17hats, Moxie and Bonsai can invoice a group but cannot deliver the program. Paperbell supports group programs and workshops, and Practice Better supports group services and programs with Zoom for video. Coachful creates a cohort group automatically on enrollment, with group calls, chat and shared content.
How long do free trials last?
As listed in October 2026: Dubsado offers 21 days of Premier with no card, HoneyBook 30 days with no card, Moxie 14 days, Practice Better 14 days on paid plans, and 17hats and Bonsai 7 days each. Paperbell's help center describes a 7-day trial. Coachful has a free trial too; use any trial with your real forms and one real client.
