Kartra vs Stan Store: Which Fits Coaches in 2026?

Kartra vs Stan Store: Which Fits Coaches in 2026?

Kartra vs Stan Store comes down to how much marketing machinery you want. Kartra is a full marketing suite: pages, funnels, email and SMS, memberships, calendars and a helpdesk, with plans from $59 to $549 a month as listed in October 2026. Stan Store is a link-in-bio storefront for selling digital products, courses, memberships and paid calls from your social profile, at $29 or $99 a month. If you sell to an audience on Instagram or TikTok and want to be live this afternoon, Stan Store is the simpler pick. If you run launches with long email sequences and multi-step funnels, Kartra does more.

Neither tool was built to run the coaching itself: neither documents client programs with habits and check-ins, coaching agreements, or a client record that shows how each person is doing between sessions. That gap is why this comparison ends with a third option. We make Coachful, a coaching platform that covers selling and delivery under one login, so read that section with the bias in mind; we state where each of the other two tools is the better fit.

Every vendor fact below comes from the vendors' own pricing pages and help centers as listed in October 2026, or from public review sites. We did not run hands-on tests; where something is from an older vendor profile (September 2026), we say so.

What is the short answer by use case?

Pick Stan Store if you are a creator-coach selling a few products and paid calls from your bio link; pick Kartra if you are a marketer-coach running funnels and email at volume; pick a coaching platform if your income comes from clients going through programs with you. Here is the longer version, one line per situation.

  • You sell a lead magnet, a mini course and a discovery call from Instagram: Stan Store Creator covers that, including AutoDM for Instagram, a calendar booking product and email collection.
  • You need upsells, discount codes, email broadcasts and affiliates on a small budget: Stan Store Creator Pro has them, while Kartra puts automations and affiliates on its Growth plan.
  • You run webinar launches, SMS reminders and multi-step funnels with tagging: Kartra Starter or Growth, which document unlimited email and SMS, video hosting, calendars and (on Growth) automations and funnel simulation.
  • You have a small team answering customer questions: Kartra, which lists team members on Starter and up and a helpdesk on Growth. Stan Store does not advertise team seats.
  • You coach clients through multi-week programs and want to see who is slipping: neither. Look at a coaching platform such as Coachful, which ties booking, payments, agreements, programs, habits and check-ins to one client record.

If you are new to coaching and still testing an offer, the cheapest route is usually the one you can launch fastest. If you are established and already paying for four or five tools, the cheapest route is the one that replaces the most of them. Those two answers are often different tools.

How do Kartra and Stan Store compare side by side?

On features, Kartra wins on depth of marketing and Stan Store wins on simplicity; on coaching delivery, both stop at the sale. We ranked the three options on four criteria that matter most to coaches: one login for the whole client journey, between-session delivery, total stack cost, and setup effort (including whether someone will build it for you).

Two things stand out. First, Stan Store's review base on Trustpilot is far larger and higher rated than Kartra's. Second, review counts aside, Kartra's entry plan is the expensive way in: it charges a 5% transaction fee and caps you at 500 contacts and one product, so most working coaches end up on Starter.

How does Kartra pricing compare with Stan Store pricing?

Stan Store is cheaper at every level: its top plan costs less than Kartra's second plan. Kartra charges more because it bundles email, SMS, video hosting and team access that Stan Store either lacks or reserves for Creator Pro.

Prices are as listed in October 2026. Stan Store has no standalone pricing page; its figures come from Stan's own pricing article (updated July 22, 2026) and its help center. Kartra says annual billing saves up to 22%.

Kartra pricing page with its four plans
Kartra's pricing page in October 2026.

The fees that change the real cost

The sticker price is not the whole bill. Three details move the numbers:

  • Kartra's 5% on Essentials. On $2,000 a month of sales (an example figure), 5% is $100, which makes Essentials more expensive than Starter. If you sell anything meaningful, the entry plan rarely makes sense.
  • Kartra's automatic upgrade. Kartra's pricing page says that if you exceed your plan's lead limit, it upgrades you automatically and charges a mid-cycle reconciliation fee, and there are no add-ons to buy extra capacity. A list that grows from 2,400 to 2,600 contacts moves you from Starter to Growth.
  • Stan Store's feature split. Email broadcasts and flows, upsells, order bumps, discount codes, affiliates, funnels and ad pixels all sit on Creator Pro. A coach who starts on the $29 plan moves to $99 as soon as they want to email their list.

For a deeper breakdown of each vendor's tiers, see our Kartra pricing guide and Stan Store pricing guide.

A worked example: a year on each

Take an example coach who wants email marketing, a booking calendar and a course, billed annually. On Stan Store that means Creator Pro at $948 for the year. On Kartra it means Starter at $99 a month, which works out to $1,188 for the year, as long as the list stays under 2,500 contacts. Both totals still leave out the tools for contracts, client programs and check-ins, which this example coach would pay for separately.

How do the funnels and sales pages compare?

Kartra has the more complete funnel builder; Stan Store has a faster storefront. The difference is how much you want to design versus how fast you want to sell.

Kartra documents pages, forms, checkouts, a funnel mapper and 100 pre-built campaigns from its first plan, then adds funnel simulation on Growth and real-time funnel analytics on Professional. You can map a sequence (opt-in page, email series, webinar, sales page, checkout, upsell) and see how a lead moves through it. That is useful if launches are your business model. Older profile notes say Kartra funnels and memberships are not portable to other platforms.

Stan Store's core is one mobile-friendly store page that sits behind your bio link, with each product as a block. Creator Pro adds funnels covering up to 20 products, upsells, order bumps and limited-quantity offers. You will not build a ten-page launch site in Stan Store, and that is the point: fewer decisions, faster launch.

If you mainly need a page that sells one coaching offer and books a call, both are more than enough. If you need a full website with a blog and SEO settings, neither is a natural fit: Kartra's Essentials plan allows five pages, and Stan Store is a storefront rather than a website builder.

How do email marketing and automations compare?

Kartra is the stronger email and SMS tool by a wide margin; Stan Store's email is basic on Creator and becomes useful only on Creator Pro.

Kartra lists 10,000 emails a month on Essentials and unlimited email and SMS from Starter, with automations, surveys and quizzes added on Growth. If your sales process depends on behaviour-based sequences (send this if they clicked, tag them if they watched the webinar), Kartra is built for it.

Stan Store Creator collects emails through lead magnets. Broadcasts and email flows are on Creator Pro, along with contact import. For a coach who sends a weekly newsletter and one welcome sequence, Creator Pro is enough. For a coach with segmented lists and SMS reminders, it is not.

On Instagram specifically, Stan Store has an edge: AutoDM for Instagram is listed on Creator, so someone can comment a keyword and get your link in their DMs. Kartra's listed plan features do not mention an Instagram DM tool.

How do booking and calendars compare?

Both can take a booking, but neither documents the scheduling depth a busy 1:1 practice needs. Stan Store includes calendar booking on Creator; Kartra adds calendars from Starter.

Stan Store's booking is a product type: a buyer pays for a call and picks a time. It suits paid discovery calls and one-off sessions. Kartra's calendars sit inside its marketing system, so a booking can trigger a sequence or tag a lead. Neither vendor's pricing page documents session packages with credits, multi-coach round-robin assignment, intake questions that land on a client record, or SMS and WhatsApp reminders tied to each session. If you run recurring clients, check how each handles reschedules and package tracking during the trial.

For a broader view of what to look for, see our guide to scheduling software for coaches.

How do courses, memberships and community compare?

Stan Store gives you more course capacity at the entry price; Kartra gives you more membership control once you are on Starter.

Stan Store Creator includes an unlimited course builder, recurring subscriptions and a community. Kartra Essentials allows one membership or course, and Starter unlocks unlimited memberships plus video hosting. On Stan Store, courses live in the same store as your other products.

Both tools treat a course as a product someone buys and consumes. Neither documents what coaches call delivery: a client working through week three of a program, logging habits, answering a check-in, and you seeing that answer before your next call. That is the line between selling knowledge and running coaching.

What is the client experience like on each?

On both, the client experience is a purchase followed by access: a checkout, a confirmation, and a course area or a booked call. What happens between sessions is up to you and other tools.

A Stan Store buyer sees your store on their phone, pays, and gets the product or a booking link. It is quick and familiar, which is why creators like it. A Kartra customer moves through your funnel, lands in a membership area, and gets emails or SMS from your sequences. Older profile notes say Kartra has no mobile app for students or admins.

Where both stop is the coaching relationship. Neither documents per-client plans, habits, daily check-ins or a shared view of goals. Stan Store's documented features include no contracts, invoices or client records, and it is not a CRM. Kartra keeps contact records with tags and lists, which is marketing data rather than coaching notes. A coach on either tool can end up adding a scheduler, an e-signature tool, a notes app, a habit tracker and a group chat. That is how a $29 tool becomes a five-subscription stack.

Which should you pick for your kind of coaching?

Match the tool to how you earn: product sales from social points to Stan Store, funnel-driven launches point to Kartra, and client programs point to a coaching platform.

Pick Stan Store if

  • Most of your buyers find you on Instagram or TikTok and click your bio link.
  • You sell digital products, a course or a few paid calls, and you want to launch the same day.
  • You want a large, positive public review base (4.7 on Trustpilot from 2,205 reviews in October 2026).
  • You are comfortable adding other tools for contracts, client tracking and delivery.

Pick Kartra if

  • You run launches with webinars, long email sequences and SMS.
  • You want funnel mapping and simulation, a helpdesk and team members in one account.
  • You accept a learning curve and a higher monthly bill, and you will watch your contact count to avoid an automatic upgrade.
  • Your coaching is mostly group programs or memberships, and you handle 1:1 delivery elsewhere.

Pick neither if

  • Your clients pay for a 12-week program and you want to see their habits and check-ins between calls.
  • You send a coaching agreement before every first session.
  • You want one login for you and one app for your clients.

If that last list describes you, the next section is the honest version of our pitch. Our Stan Store alternatives and Kartra alternatives roundups cover the wider field.

Build your platform

Is there a third option that beats both for coaches?

For coaches whose income comes from clients going through programs, yes: Coachful covers the selling that Stan Store and Kartra do and the delivery they do not. For pure creators and launch marketers, one of the other two can still be the better pick, and we say when below.

What Coachful is and who it is for

Coachful is a coaching platform. One subscription covers booking, payments, contracts, program delivery with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant, with one login for the coach and one branded app for the client. It is built for coaches who deliver programs, not just sessions; for solo coaches growing into a small team; and for coaches replacing four to six tools. The company is based in Tallinn, Estonia. Current plans: (Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients).

Where it beats both

  • Program delivery. Multi-week programs with weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars and streaks. Neither Kartra nor Stan Store documents this.
  • A real client record. Goals, check-ins, habits, notes, intake answers, tags, payments and sessions in one place, with an AI briefing per client and a status of thriving, active, quiet or at risk.
  • Agreements before the first call. Coaching agreements with e-signature, stored on the client record. See coaching contracts.
  • Booking built for practices. Availability rules, buffers, minimum notice, time-zone detection, two-way Google, Apple and Outlook calendar sync, built-in video or auto-created Zoom, Meet or Teams links, paid sessions and session credits, and round-robin assignment for multi-coach session types.
  • No platform fee. Payments run through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account with a 0% Coachful platform fee (since August 2026), including subscriptions, payment plans, order bumps, coupons and Apple Pay and Google Pay.
  • Selling tools without a higher tier for basics. A section-based website builder with blog and SEO settings, booking, application, lead-magnet and checkout funnels with pixels and UTM tracking, a link-in-bio page that sells, and email sequences with triggers, delays, branching and A/B splits are included in your Coachful membership.
  • Instagram comment-to-DM. Instagram automations can reply to a keyword comment with your booking link, lead magnet or checkout in a DM, and the person lands in the same lead and client records.

Funnels and booking, side by side with the coaching

Coachful's funnels are not as deep as Kartra's funnel mapper and simulation, but they cover what most coaches use: booking, application, lead-magnet and checkout funnels, with about 25 funnel templates. Because they live next to the client record, a lead who books a call or buys an offer is already in the system you coach from.

Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service

Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. On every plan, you can ask the Coachful team to build things for you inside your own account: a website, a funnel, a sales page, a program, a course outline and written material, an email sequence, a link-in-bio page, a lead quiz, a form or an automation. From Create > We'll build it for you · FREE, you describe what you want and attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files such as logos, photos, brand guides or copy. The team usually delivers within about 24 hours. Nothing is invented: no fake credentials, testimonials or prices, and gaps are left for you to fill. It does not include recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing.

Recent builds give a sense of scope. A somatic coach leaving Kajabi had their homepage and About page rebuilt and the contact form connected. A business mentor for beauty professionals got a 12-week mentorship sales page, a free start-up-guide funnel and rewritten follow-up emails. A leadership coach with a Squarespace renewal days away got one clean homepage with a repeated "talk with me" button. Read more about the free white-glove service.

Where Kartra or Stan Store is the better pick

  • Pick Stan Store over Coachful if you mainly sell digital downloads and courses to a social audience, want the simplest possible store, or need PayPal, Afterpay or Klarna at checkout. Coachful does not support PayPal.
  • Pick Kartra over Coachful if your business runs on complex launch funnels with simulation and analytics, you rely on SMS marketing at volume, or you want a built-in helpdesk with live chat.
  • Pick something else entirely if you need HIPAA compliance (Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and does not sign a BAA), a sales deal board with a Salesforce or HubSpot integration, a course marketplace, or a client app under your own App Store account. Coachful's client app ships under the Coachful listing with your branding.

Coachful also does not send affiliate payouts for you (it tracks links, clicks, conversions and revenue, and you record payouts manually), has no routing forms that pick a host from form answers, and has no third-party plugins. For health and fitness coaches: coaching is not medical treatment, and clinical records belong in a clinical system, so refer clients to a doctor or licensed professional when a concern is medical.

How to start

  1. Start a free trial and pick the plan that matches your client count (Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients for 15 clients, as an example).
  2. Request the white-glove build for your website, first funnel or main program.
  3. Connect your Stripe or Razorpay account and your calendar.
  4. Let the onboarding team import your clients, programs and content.
  5. If you are leaving Stan Store, our guide on migrating from Stan Store walks through the order of steps; for Kartra, see running coaching programs without Kartra.

What does the total stack cost look like?

The fair comparison is not one plan against another but your whole monthly bill once every coaching job is covered. Kartra and Stan Store each cover marketing and sales; the coaching jobs usually need extra tools.

To compare properly, list the tools you would add to each option and price them yourself. A coach who already pays for an e-signature tool, a habit app and a client portal should add those to the Kartra or Stan Store column. For a 1:1 practice, those add-ons usually decide the result.

How hard is it to move between them?

Contacts move easily; everything else is a rebuild. Stan Store exports customers and contacts to CSV, but courses and community content must be rebuilt elsewhere (older profile). Kartra exports contacts to CSV with fields, lists and tags, but pages and funnels export only as Kartra elements and memberships must be rebuilt (older profile).

That makes your first choice stickier than it looks. If you expect to coach clients through programs within a year, it is worth starting on a tool that already does that, rather than building a funnel stack you will later take apart. On Coachful, clients, programs and content are imported for you during onboarding, and you can export your full client data as a ZIP at any time.

Frequently asked questions

Is Kartra or Stan Store better for coaches?

It depends on how you earn. Stan Store suits coaches selling digital products and paid calls from a social bio link, and Kartra suits coaches running funnel-driven launches with email and SMS. Neither documents client programs, habits or check-ins, so coaches who deliver programs often use a coaching platform such as Coachful instead.

Which is cheaper, Kartra or Stan Store?

Stan Store is cheaper. As listed in October 2026, Stan Store costs $29 or $99 a month, while Kartra runs from $59 to $549 a month. Kartra's $59 Essentials plan also charges a 5% transaction fee, which Starter and Growth do not.

Does Stan Store charge transaction fees?

Stan Store says you keep 100% of every sale, so there is no Stan platform fee on either plan. Standard Stripe or PayPal processing fees still apply.

What happens if I go over Kartra's contact limit?

Kartra's pricing page says it upgrades you automatically to the next plan and charges a mid-cycle reconciliation fee. It does not sell add-ons to buy extra contact capacity, so plan ahead if your list is close to a limit.

Can I book coaching sessions with Kartra or Stan Store?

Yes, both offer basic booking. Stan Store includes calendar booking on Creator, and Kartra adds calendars from its Starter plan. Neither documents session credits, multi-coach assignment or intake answers that land on a client record.

Do Kartra or Stan Store have free trials?

Both offer 14-day free trials. Stan Store's help center says the first month is charged when the trial ends. Kartra also lists a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Can I use Coachful alongside Stan Store or Kartra?

You can, for example by keeping a Stan Store bio link while delivering programs in Coachful. Coachful also includes a link-in-bio page, funnels and email, so check whether they cover what you use the other tool for. Try it during the free trial before cancelling anything.

What is Coachful's free white-glove service?

On every plan, the Coachful team builds things for you inside your own account, such as a website, funnel, program, course outline or email sequence. You describe what you want and attach references, and the team usually delivers within about 24 hours. It does not include recording videos, logo design or ad management.

Does Coachful support PayPal?

No. Coachful takes payments through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account, with Apple Pay and Google Pay. If PayPal at checkout is essential to your buyers, Stan Store or Kartra may suit you better.

Is Coachful HIPAA-compliant?

No. Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and does not sign a BAA, so it is not for clinical record-keeping or insurance billing. Coaches in health niches should keep clinical records in a clinical system and refer clients to a licensed professional for medical concerns.
