Top 10 Kartra Alternatives: Ranked and Reviewed

The right Kartra alternatives for you depend on one question: do you mainly sell to an audience, or do you coach clients through a program after they buy? Kartra is a marketing suite. It puts pages, funnels, email and SMS campaigns, memberships and calendars under one login, and it handles the selling half of a coaching business well enough that many coaches start there. The friction appears after the sale, when a client needs a weekly plan, a habit to track, a check-in to answer and a coach who can see whether they are slipping.
Our pick for most coaches is Coachful. It covers the marketing work Kartra is known for (website, funnels, email, checkout) and the delivery work Kartra leaves out (programs with habits and check-ins, booking with two-way calendar sync, signed coaching agreements and a branded client app). We make Coachful, so weigh our view accordingly, and read the other nine entries: several of them are the better choice in specific situations, and we say which ones.
Below you will find quick picks by situation, the criteria behind the ranking, a section on each tool, a feature matrix, cost at 5, 15 and 40 clients, three example stacks with monthly totals, and a step-by-step move from Kartra. Vendor prices are as listed on their pricing pages in October 2026, in US dollars.
Which Kartra alternative fits your situation?
Coachful fits coaches who sell and deliver programs; the six tools below it each win one narrower situation. Start with the row that sounds like your business, then read that tool's section.
How we ranked: one login for the whole client journey, delivery between sessions, total monthly stack cost, and setup effort, including whether someone will build the first version for you.
| Tool | Best for | Why it wins that situation | Starting price (as listed, October 2026) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Best overall: coaches who sell and deliver programs | Funnels, booking, payments, contracts, habits and check-ins in one login, plus a free white-glove build | Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients |
| Kajabi | A large catalog of courses and digital products | Mature course, community, website and email stack for audiences in the thousands | $179/month ($143 billed annually) |
| GoHighLevel | Agencies and SMS-heavy follow-up | Sub-accounts with unlimited users and contacts | $97/month plus metered SMS, email and AI usage |
| ClickFunnels | Paid traffic into tested sales funnels | 10K contacts and 0% commission on the entry plan | $97/month ($81 billed annually) |
| Systeme.io | The tightest budget | A free plan that never expires and 0% transaction fees | $0; paid plans from $17/month |
| Stan Store | Selling from a social media bio | Link-in-bio checkout with no Stan fee on sales | $29/month ($25 billed annually) |
| Circle | A community that is the product | Spaces, events, live streams and paid memberships | $89/month billed annually |
Podia, Thinkific and Teachable also make the top 10. They suit course-led businesses and are covered in ranked order below.
Why do coaches look for Kartra alternatives?
Two reasons come up most: the bill climbs with your contact list, and the platform stops at the sale. Kartra is built to capture leads and sell to them, not to run a 12-week client program.

On price, Kartra's pricing page in October 2026 lists four plans. Essentials costs $59/month ($52 billed annually) and caps you at 500 contacts, 5 pages, 1 product, 1 membership or course and 10,000 emails a month, with a 5% transaction fee. Calendars arrive on Starter at $119/month ($99 annually), which also lifts the cap to 2,500 contacts and drops the fee to 0%. Automations, affiliates, surveys and quizzes and the helpdesk are listed from Growth at $229/month ($189 annually), and Professional sits at $549/month ($429 annually).

The contact cap matters more than it looks. Kartra's page now states that going over the lead limit upgrades you automatically, with a mid-cycle reconciliation fee, and that there are no add-ons to buy extra capacity instead. A lead magnet that works too well can move you up a tier without a decision on your part. Our Kartra pricing breakdown walks through each tier.
On delivery, our notes on Kartra list no client habits, no check-ins and no per-client coaching plans. Our September 2026 profile also recorded no mobile app for students or admins, and found that funnels and memberships do not carry over to other platforms. Public reviewers are split: Kartra held a Trustpilot score of 3.2 from 129 reviews in October 2026. The full Kartra review covers the rest.
What does a coaching business need that a marketing suite skips?
A coaching business needs everything that happens after the buy button: booking, an agreement, onboarding, a plan the client follows between calls, and a way for the coach to spot who is drifting. Marketing suites handle the first click; coaching platforms handle the next twelve weeks.
Walk through a typical client journey and count the tools involved:
- Discovery. A prospect finds a lead magnet, joins a list and gets a short email sequence.
- Consult call. They book a call on a page that knows your availability and time zone, answering intake questions on the way.
- Agreement and payment. They sign a coaching agreement and pay in full or through a payment plan.
- Onboarding. They get a welcome flow, their first goals and access to any course material.
- Between sessions. They log habits, answer morning and evening check-ins, and work through weekly tasks.
- Group layer. If they joined a group program, they meet their cohort in a community space and on group calls.
- Renewal. Near the end, you need their progress in one view to suggest the next step.
Kartra covers steps 1 to 3 well on Starter and above, and step 4 through memberships. Steps 5 to 7 usually mean a separate habit app, a separate e-signature tool and a spreadsheet. Our guide to running coaching programs without Kartra maps that journey in more detail.
How did we rank these tools?
We ranked every tool against one concrete business: a coach with 15 one-to-one clients on a 12-week program, one group program running alongside, a lead-magnet funnel and an email list of about 1,500 contacts (illustrative numbers). Each tool was scored on how much of that business it runs without extra apps, and what the whole setup costs per month.
The four criteria, in order of weight:
- One login for the whole client journey. Fewer tools means fewer passwords for clients and fewer places for data to go stale.
- Delivery between sessions. Habits, check-ins, weekly goals and a client record the coach can read in a minute.
- Total stack cost. The plan price plus platform fees on sales plus whatever you must add to fill gaps.
- Setup effort. Templates, imports, and whether someone builds the first version for you.
We did not run paid accounts on every platform. The facts below come from each vendor's pricing and product pages as listed in October 2026, our September 2026 vendor profiles where noted, and public review scores. Dedicated coaching platforms that lack Kartra-style funnels are compared in our comparison hub.
1. Coachful: the best Kartra alternative for coaches who sell and deliver programs
Coachful wins the scenario this article is built around: a coach who wants Kartra's marketing tools and also needs to run 15 clients and a group through a program without adding three more apps.

Coachful is a coaching platform. One subscription covers booking, payments, contracts, program delivery with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant. The coach has one login, and the client gets one app carrying the coach's branding inside the Coachful app. It is built for coaches who deliver programs, not just sessions, for solo coaches growing into a small team, and for coaches replacing four to six tools. The company is based in Tallinn, Estonia, and holds a Trustpilot score of 4.5 from 21 reviews.
Site, funnels and email: the part Kartra users already know
The website builder is section-based, with a blog, custom domain, SEO settings, 30 designed homepage templates and an Import website option. Funnels come in booking, application, lead-magnet and checkout types, with Meta Pixel, GA4 and UTM tracking, and there are about 25 funnel templates to start from. A link-in-bio page can sell directly. Email covers lists, broadcasts and multi-step sequences with triggers, delays, branching and A/B splits. If your Kartra setup leans on its helpdesk or real-time funnel analytics, note that neither appears in Coachful's feature list, so check how much you use them before moving.

Where it goes further than Kartra: delivery between sessions
This is the half a marketing suite does not attempt. Multi-week programs carry weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars and streaks. Each client record holds goals, check-ins, habits, notes, intake answers, tags, payments, sessions and an AI briefing, and flags the client as thriving, active, quiet or at risk. When someone enrolls in a group program, a cohort group is created automatically, with a community feed, group chat, direct messages, video events and group calls (see group coaching software). Courses with modules, lessons, drip and completion tracking are delivered into the same branded home.

Booking, payments and contracts
Booking pages handle availability rules, buffers, minimum notice and time-zone detection, with two-way Google, Apple/iCloud and Outlook calendar sync. Sessions get built-in video or auto-created Zoom, Meet or Teams links, plus email reminders, and SMS (24 hours before) and WhatsApp (1 hour before) reminders once messaging is enabled. Payments run through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account: one-time, subscriptions, payment plans, order bumps, coupons, refunds, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Stripe Tax. Coachful has charged a 0% platform fee since August 2026, so you pay only Stripe or Razorpay processing. Coaching agreements go out for e-signature before the first call and stay on the client record.
The short walkthrough below shows how a funnel is built and connected to an offer:
Michelle, the built-in AI assistant, works from your live practice data: she builds programs, drafts emails and content, summarizes recorded sessions and briefs you before each call. Questions and planning are included in your Coachful membership; confirmed builds and changes use AI credits. For credentialing coaches, ICF hour tracking counts coaching hours and distinct clients against ACC, PCC and MCC thresholds.
What it does not do
Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and does not sign a BAA, so it is not for clinical record-keeping or insurance billing. It has no PayPal and no permanent free plan. The client app ships under the Coachful listing with your branding, not under your own App Store account. There is no Salesforce or HubSpot integration, no multi-stage sales deal board for large teams and no routing forms. Kartra users running affiliate programs should know the affiliate feature is partial: it tracks links, clicks, conversions and revenue, but payouts are recorded manually rather than sent.
Plans are flat and monthly: lower plans cap the number of clients, Pro is unlimited, team plans add coach seats, monthly plans cancel in one click, and there is a free trial (current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients).
Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. Leaving Kartra usually means rebuilding a sales page, a funnel and a sequence or two. In Coachful, you open Create > We'll build it for you · FREE, describe what you want (a website, funnel, sales page, program, course outline, email sequence, form and more), and attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files such as logos, photos, brand guides or copy. The Coachful team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours. Nothing gets invented: no fake credentials, testimonials or prices, and gaps are left for you to fill. Recent anonymized builds include a business mentor for beauty professionals who got a 12-week mentorship sales page, a free start-up-guide funnel and rewritten follow-up emails, and a real-estate and money coach who got a year-long cohort program with an application form, an eight-page site and a free nine-day bootcamp funnel. It does not cover recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing. Read more about the white-glove build service.

Choose Coachful if your revenue comes from clients you coach over weeks or months, and you want the funnel that sells the program and the app that delivers it to live in the same place.
2. Kajabi: for coaches selling a catalog of courses
Kajabi wins when the business is a catalog: several courses, a paid community and a newsletter sold to an audience in the thousands, with coaching as one product among many.

It is the closest like-for-like swap for Kartra's membership side. Courses, communities, a website, funnels and email all sit in one product, and the content tools are mature. As listed in October 2026, Basic costs $179/month ($143 billed annually) for 5 products, 2,500 contacts, 1 community, 1 website, 2 admin users and 0 AI credits. Growth is $249/month ($199 annually) for 50 products, 25,000 contacts, 11 admin users and 500 AI credits. Pro is $499/month ($399 annually) with unlimited products, 100,000 contacts and 3 communities and websites.
Payment fees need a careful read. Kajabi Payments in the US charges 2.9% + $0.30 on Basic, 2.8% + $0.30 on Growth and 2.7% + $0.30 on Pro. Use another processor (other than PayPal) and Kajabi adds its own 2%, 1% or 0.5% fee on top. The 14-day trial makes a card optional, though some features such as bulk contact import and test emails stay locked until you pay.
The gap for coaches is per-client delivery. Our notes list no habit tracking or daily check-ins; coaching runs through products and communities rather than individual plans. Compared with Kartra, the Basic contact cap matches Kartra Starter's 2,500, but the monthly price is $60 higher. Kajabi held a Trustpilot score of 3.4 from 2,347 reviews in October 2026. Our Kajabi alternatives guide goes deeper.
Pick it over Coachful if you sell more than a handful of courses to a large audience, coaching is a minor revenue line, and you want one vendor handling course payments.
3. GoHighLevel: when SMS follow-up and sub-accounts matter most
GoHighLevel wins for the coach who also runs a marketing agency, or whose sales depend on text-message follow-up at volume.

Built agency-first, it bundles funnels, websites, calendars, SMS and email, invoicing, contracts, courses and communities, organized around sub-accounts. The October 2026 pricing page lists Starter at $97/month ($80.83 annually) with 3 sub-accounts, Unlimited at $297/month ($247.50) and Agency Pro at $497/month ($414.17). All three include unlimited users and contacts, which removes Kartra's auto-upgrade problem entirely.
The catch is metering. SMS, email, phone numbers and AI usage are billed separately, and the per-unit rates live on separate pricing guides rather than the main page, so your real bill depends on volume. The 14-day trial moves to paid billing automatically unless you cancel, and usage fees can apply during the trial. A HIPAA add-on costs $297/month and is not part of Starter, Unlimited or Agency Pro.
For coaching delivery, our notes list no habit tracking, client check-ins or structured program engine; you would have to simulate those with workflows and forms. There are no built-in video rooms, only Zoom and Google Meet links. GoHighLevel had a Trustpilot score of 4.9 from 15,250 reviews in October 2026. See our GoHighLevel alternatives roundup for the flip side.
Pick it over Coachful if you manage marketing for other businesses through sub-accounts, send SMS campaigns at volume, or need a BAA-backed setup for a health practice and can budget for the add-on.
4. ClickFunnels: if tested sales funnels drive your revenue
Paid traffic into a sales page you test every week is where ClickFunnels earns its place.

ClickFunnels is a funnel and sales-page builder with email, courses, community, a store and appointment apps attached. Its entry plan is generous next to Kartra's: Launch costs $97/month ($81 annually) for 10K contacts, 50K emails a month, 2 team members, 5 domains, 3 courses, 3 communities and 1 store. Scale is $197/month ($164 annually) for 75K contacts and 5 team members, Optimize is $297/month ($248 annually), and Dominate is listed at $499.75/month on annual billing. The page promises 0% ClickFunnels commission on your sales, so you pay only processor fees.
Ten thousand contacts for $97 compares well with Kartra Starter's 2,500 contacts for $119. A 14-day trial and a 30-day money-back guarantee are listed; our September 2026 profile notes that the card on file is charged after 14 days.
Limits show up after the sale. The entry plan caps courses at 3, and there are no client habits, check-ins or structured one-to-one programs. Our September 2026 profile also found funnels proprietary and not portable, the same lock-in many coaches are trying to escape from Kartra. Public reviewers rate it 4.7 on Trustpilot from 2,512 reviews (October 2026). Our ClickFunnels alternatives comparison has more on funnel tools.
Pick it over Coachful if most of your revenue comes from paid ads into high-volume funnels and your coaching delivery already lives in another tool you are happy with.
5. Systeme.io: the lowest-cost way off Kartra
For a coach with almost no software budget who still wants funnels, email and a course on day one, Systeme.io is hard to beat on price.

The free plan never expires and needs no credit card. It includes 2,000 contacts, 3 funnels, 1 course with 500 students, a blog, an affiliate program, a custom domain, one automation rule and one email campaign. That is four times the contacts of Kartra Essentials at no cost. Paid plans are Startup at $17/month (5,000 contacts, 10 funnels, 5 courses), Webinar at $47/month (10,000 contacts, 50 funnels, 20 courses) and Unlimited at $97/month. All plans, including the free one, carry 0% transaction fees, with only Stripe or PayPal processing on top.
What you give up is the coaching layer. Our September 2026 profile found no native one-to-one scheduling with client records, no habits and no check-ins, basic community and course features, and no branded mobile app. Systeme.io had a Trustpilot score of 4.9 from 8,696 reviews in October 2026, the highest review count in this group after GoHighLevel.
In practice, coaches on Systeme.io pair it with a booking tool, an e-signature tool and something for client tracking. That works, but the stack costs and the logins add up, which is why it ranks fifth rather than higher.
Pick it over Coachful if you have not signed your first paying clients yet, need a no-cost funnel and list to test an offer, and accept adding other tools once clients arrive.
6. Podia: a simpler storefront for a short product shelf
Podia suits a coach whose offer fits on one shelf: a course, a few downloads, a webinar and bookable coaching sessions, sold from a clean storefront.

Setup is straightforward and the pricing is easy to read. As listed in October 2026, Mover costs $49/month ($42 annually) for 50 products and 100 included email subscribers, with a 5% Podia fee on sales. Shaker is $99/month ($84 annually) for 150 products, 500 email subscribers and one assistant, with no Podia fee. Earthquaker is $179/month ($150 annually) for unlimited products and 1,000 email subscribers. Stripe or PayPal processing applies on top. The 14-day trial needs no card or plan selection.
Email is the weak spot for a Kartra refugee. Kartra Starter includes unlimited email, while Podia's allowances stop at 100, 500 or 1,000 subscribers depending on the plan. Our September 2026 profile also noted no mobile app and no native video calls, and there are no client habits, check-ins or per-client plans. Podia held a Trustpilot score of 4.1 from 153 reviews in October 2026.
Pick it over Coachful if you sell a small set of digital products to a small list, rarely run multi-week client programs, and value a storefront you can set up in an afternoon.
7. Thinkific: for course-heavy businesses with many students
Thinkific earns its spot when the course, not one-to-one coaching, carries the revenue and the student count runs into the thousands.

Thinkific is a course platform with communities, memberships, and coaching and webinar products. Prices rose about 10% on August 13, 2026, and as listed in October 2026, Start costs $109/month ($82 annually) for 10,000 current students, 2 admins, 1 community with 10 spaces, 5 live community events and 200 GB a month of video bandwidth. Grow is $219/month ($164 annually) with 6 admins, and Expand is $499/month ($374 annually) with 15 admins. There is no Thinkific transaction fee when you use Thinkific Payments; third-party gateways carry an extra fee that the page does not quantify. Every self-serve plan comes with a 30-day free trial.
Coaching features are thin. Our September 2026 profile found no built-in one-to-one scheduling (coaching relies on external booking links), and there are no client habits, daily check-ins or per-client plans. A branded mobile app is a $199/month add-on. Public reviewers are harsh: Thinkific held a Trustpilot score of 1.8 from 868 reviews in October 2026. Our Thinkific alternatives list covers why.
Pick it over Coachful if you run a large course academy with thousands of students, need many admin seats for content staff, and treat live coaching as an occasional add-on.
8. Teachable: for a low-cost first course with student apps
A first course launch on a small budget, with students who will study on their phones, is Teachable's home ground.

Teachable is a course and digital-product platform with student mobile apps. As listed in October 2026, Starter costs $39/month ($29 annually) for 5 products and 1 admin, but takes a 7.5% platform fee on sales. Builder at $89/month ($69 annually) covers 10 products with no platform fee, and Growth at $189/month ($139 annually) covers 50 products and 5 admins. Teachable Payments charges 2.9% + 30¢ on US cards and 3.9% + 30¢ internationally. The plan cards show a 7-day free trial and a 30-day guarantee.
On coaching, our September 2026 profile found no native scheduling or calendar sync; coaching calls rely on outside booking and video tools. There are no client habits, daily check-ins or per-client plans. Against Kartra, Teachable is cheaper for pure course delivery but brings no funnels-and-email depth to match. Teachable held a Trustpilot score of 3.3 from 1,110 reviews in October 2026. More in our Teachable alternatives roundup.
Pick it over Coachful if your only near-term product is one self-paced course, mobile course access matters most to your students, and you will handle coaching calls elsewhere.
9. Stan Store: when your sales start on a social profile
Followers on Instagram, TikTok or YouTube who buy straight from the link in your bio are the buyers Stan Store is designed around.

Stan Store is a link-in-bio storefront for digital products, courses, memberships and paid calls. Creator costs $29/month ($25 annually) for unlimited products and customers in one store. Creator Pro at $99/month ($79 annually) adds email marketing, upsells, discount codes and affiliates. Stan takes no fee on sales, so you pay only Stripe or PayPal processing, and both plans start with a 14-day free trial that rolls into the first paid month.
It is a checkout, not a CRM. Our notes list no contracts, invoices or client records, no programs with tasks, habits or check-ins, and no advertised team seats. Coming from Kartra, you would lose the email depth unless you take Creator Pro. Stan Store held a Trustpilot score of 4.7 from 2,205 reviews in October 2026. If you like the link-in-bio model, Coachful also includes a link-in-bio page that sells, connected to the rest of the client journey. See our Stan Store alternatives for more.
Pick it over Coachful if almost all your sales are low-priced products bought from a social bio, and you do not yet run multi-week coaching programs.
10. Circle: if the community is the product
Circle takes the scenario where members pay for the community itself: discussion spaces, events and live streams, with courses on the side.

Circle is a community platform with courses, events, live streams and paid memberships. Its October 2026 pricing page lists annual-billing figures: Professional at $89/month (3 admins, 10 moderators, 2,500 AI credits), Business at $199/month (5 admins, 15 moderators) and Scale at $419/month (10 admins, 100 moderators); Circle Plus is custom-priced. Circle takes 2% of payments on Professional, 1% on Business and Scale and 0.5% on Circle Plus, plus Stripe processing. The 14-day trial needs no credit card.
It does not try to be a coaching back office. Our notes list no one-to-one scheduling or client management, no per-client habits, check-ins or coaching plans, and branded mobile apps only on Circle Plus. It also does not replace Kartra's funnels or email, so most coaches pair it with a marketing tool. Circle held a Trustpilot score of 4.1 from 129 reviews in October 2026. Our Circle alternatives list compares community tools.
Pick it over Coachful if you run a large paid membership where peer discussion is the main value and individual coaching plays little part.
How do the 10 tools compare feature by feature?
Only Coachful marks yes across booking, client delivery, marketing and contracts. "Not listed" means the feature does not appear in the vendor facts we checked, not that it is impossible.
| Tool | 1:1 booking | Habits and check-ins | Funnels and email | Courses | Community | Contracts | Platform fee on sales |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Yes, two-way calendar sync | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes, auto cohort groups | Yes, e-signature | 0% |
| Kartra (reference) | Partial (calendars from Starter) | No | Yes | Yes (memberships) | Not listed | Not listed | 5% on Essentials, 0% on Starter and Growth |

What will you pay at 5, 15 and 40 clients?
Most Kartra alternatives price by contacts, products or admins, so your client count barely moves the bill; Coachful's lower plans cap clients instead. The table shows the cheapest plan that runs the 15-client scenario on each tool, at monthly list price, before processing fees.
| Tool | 5 clients | 15 clients | 40 clients | What sets the price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients | Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients | Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients | Active clients; Pro is unlimited |
| Kartra | $119 (Starter) | $119 | $119 | Contacts; Essentials ($59) has no calendars and a 5% fee |
| Kajabi | $179 (Basic) | $179 | $179 | Products and contacts |
| GoHighLevel | $97 + usage | $97 + usage | $97 + usage | Sub-accounts plus metered SMS, email and AI |
| ClickFunnels | $97 (Launch) | $97 | $97 | Contacts, courses and team members |
| Systeme.io | $0 to $17 | $17 (Startup) | $17 | Contacts, funnels and courses |
| Podia | $99 (Shaker) | $99 | $99 | Products and email subscribers; Mover adds a 5% fee |
| Thinkific | $109 (Start) | $109 | $109 | Admins, communities and bandwidth |
| Teachable | $89 (Builder) | $89 | $89 | Products and admins; Starter adds a 7.5% fee |
| Stan Store | $29 (Creator) | $29 | $29 | Email and upsells need Creator Pro ($99) |
| Circle | $89 (annual billing) | $89 | $89 | Admins and moderators, plus a 2% fee |
Flat numbers hide the real gap: none of the tools after Coachful include habits, check-ins and per-client plans, so each needs extra software for the delivery half. The stacks below put a number on that.
What do three realistic stacks cost per month?
A single-login setup usually costs less than two cheaper tools glued together, once you count what each stack still lacks. These three example stacks run the same 15-client business from the ranking scenario.
| Stack | Tools | Monthly cost (list price) | Still missing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful (one login) | Site, funnels, email, booking, payments, contracts, programs with habits and check-ins, courses, community, branded client app | Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients | PayPal; HIPAA compliance |
| Course plus community | Teachable Builder ($89) + Circle Professional ($89, annual billing) | $178, plus a booking tool | 1:1 scheduling, contracts, habits, check-ins, funnels; Circle takes 2% of community payments |
| Budget creator | Systeme.io Startup ($17) + Stan Store Creator ($29) | $46, plus booking and e-signature tools | Client records, contracts, habits, check-ins; two separate checkouts |
For reference, staying on Kartra Starter costs $119/month before you add a habit app, an e-signature tool or a client tracker. The budget stack looks cheapest on paper, but the client still deals with two checkouts and no program view, and the coach still tracks progress by hand.
How do you move from Kartra to Coachful, step by step?
Export from Kartra first, then let the white-glove team rebuild your best pages while you set up booking, payments and the program. Here is the order that keeps sales running during the switch.
- Export before you cancel. Kartra exports contacts to CSV with fields, lists and tags. Our September 2026 profile found pages and funnels exportable only as Kartra elements, and memberships must be rebuilt, so screenshot your best-converting pages and copy their text. Data portability is a basic right under the GDPR for European clients, which is one more reason to keep your own copy.
- Start the trial and request a build. From Create > We'll build it for you · FREE, ask for your sales page and lead-magnet funnel to be rebuilt, attaching the old page links and your copy. Clients, programs and content are also imported for you during onboarding.
- Connect payments. Link your Stripe or Razorpay account and recreate each offer: one-time, subscription or payment plan, with order bumps and coupons where you used them in Kartra.
- Set up booking. Add availability rules, buffers and minimum notice, connect Google, Apple or Outlook calendars, choose built-in video or Zoom, Meet or Teams, and add intake questions to the consult call (see scheduling software).
- Add your agreement. Upload your coaching agreement so it goes out for e-signature before the first call.
- Build the 12-week program. Start from one of more than 40 program templates or ask Michelle to draft one, then set weekly goals, daily tasks, habits and morning and evening check-ins.
- Rebuild the membership as a course. Use one of 48 course templates, add modules, lessons and drip timing, and attach downloads and videos.
- Open the group program. Enrollment creates the cohort group automatically, with a feed, group chat and group calls.
- Recreate your sequences. Rebuild the email sequences that actually convert, with triggers, delays and branching, then point your domain and pixels at the new site.

What the client experiences. A prospect downloads your lead magnet, gets your email sequence and books a consult on a page that shows times in their own zone. After the call they sign the agreement and pay through your Stripe checkout, with Apple Pay or Google Pay if they prefer. They open your branded app to find the next session, this week's goals, a morning check-in and their habit tracker, plus the cohort space if they joined the group. On your side, the client record shows whether they are thriving, active, quiet or at risk, and Michelle briefs you before each call.
If you coach in a specific niche, the business coaches and life coaches pages show the same setup with niche templates.
What mistakes should you avoid when leaving Kartra?
The costly mistakes are timing and scope: cancelling before you export, and rebuilding every old funnel instead of the few that sell.
- Letting the lead limit decide your plan. Kartra upgrades you automatically, with a reconciliation fee, when you pass the contact cap. Clean out cold contacts before you hit it if you plan to stay a few more months.
- Comparing entry prices only. Kartra Essentials at $59 has no calendars and charges 5%; Teachable Starter charges 7.5%; Podia Mover charges 5%. Price the plan that actually runs your business.
- Cancelling before the export. Pages, funnels and memberships do not move over as files, so capture copy and structure first.
- Rebuilding everything. Most Kartra accounts collect old funnels. Move the one or two that convert and retire the rest.
- Assuming PayPal. Coachful does not support PayPal. If many clients pay that way, plan the switch to cards, Apple Pay or Google Pay, or choose a tool that accepts PayPal.
- Storing clinical information. Coaching is not treatment. Coachful is not HIPAA-certified, so keep medical records out of any coaching app and refer clients to a licensed clinician when they describe symptoms or need diagnosis.
- Paying platform fees twice. Circle's 2% and Kajabi's outside-processor fee sit on top of Stripe's own charges. Over a year of sales, that adds up.
Which Kartra alternative should you choose?
Choose Coachful if you coach clients through programs and want marketing and delivery in one login; choose one of the others only if your business matches its narrower situation.
Kajabi fits a large course catalog, GoHighLevel fits agencies and SMS volume, ClickFunnels fits ad-driven funnels, and Systeme.io fits a coach testing an offer on no budget. Podia, Thinkific and Teachable serve course-led businesses, Stan Store serves social-first sellers, and Circle serves paid communities. None of those nine runs habits, check-ins and per-client plans, which is the work that keeps coaching clients renewing.
To start, open a free trial of Coachful and request a free white-glove build of your website or Kartra funnel in the same week. If you want a wider view first, see our Coachful alternatives page or the coaching software overview.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best Kartra alternative for coaches?
For coaches who deliver programs, Coachful is our pick because it covers Kartra's marketing tools and adds booking, contracts, habits, check-ins and a branded client app in one login. If you mostly sell courses to a large audience, Kajabi is the closer fit. We make Coachful, so compare the feature matrix above against your own needs.
Is there a cheaper alternative to Kartra?
Systeme.io has a free plan with 2,000 contacts and paid plans from $17/month, and Stan Store starts at $29/month, both as listed in October 2026. Kartra Essentials costs $59/month with a 500-contact cap and a 5% fee. The cheaper tools leave out client records and delivery, so add the cost of the extra apps you would need.
Which tool is closest to Kartra feature for feature?
ClickFunnels and Kajabi are the closest on marketing: both bundle pages, funnels, email, courses and communities. GoHighLevel adds SMS and contracts with unlimited contacts. None of them adds the client delivery layer that a coaching platform covers.
Can I move my Kartra funnels and memberships to another platform?
Not as files. Contacts export to CSV with fields, lists and tags, but our September 2026 profile found pages and funnels exportable only as Kartra elements, and memberships must be rebuilt. Copy your text and screenshot your pages before cancelling, or have a white-glove team rebuild them.
Does Kartra charge transaction fees?
On Essentials, yes: 5% per sale as listed in October 2026. Starter and Growth show 0%, and the Professional fee is not stated on the current page. Payment processor fees are separate on every plan.
Does Coachful replace Kartra's funnels and email?
For most coaches, yes. Coachful includes booking, application, lead-magnet and checkout funnels with pixel and UTM tracking, plus email lists, broadcasts and multi-step sequences with branching and A/B splits. It has no helpdesk module and its affiliate feature records payouts manually, so check those if you rely on them.
What is Coachful's free white-glove service?
It is a build service included on every plan. You describe what you need (a website, funnel, sales page, program, email sequence and more), attach up to 8 links and 10 files, and the Coachful team builds it inside your account, usually within about 24 hours. It does not include video recording, logo design, ads or ongoing marketing.
Does Coachful support PayPal or HIPAA?
No to both. Payments run through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account, with Apple Pay and Google Pay available. Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and does not sign a BAA, so it is not for clinical records or insurance billing.
What happens if I go over Kartra's contact limit?
According to Kartra's pricing page in October 2026, exceeding the lead limit upgrades you to the next plan automatically, with a mid-cycle reconciliation fee. There are no add-ons to buy extra capacity on your current plan.
