Mighty Networks vs Paperbell: Which Fits Coaches in 2026?

Mighty Networks vs Paperbell is not a contest between two versions of the same tool. Mighty Networks is a community, course and events platform with its own member apps; Paperbell is an admin back office for solo coaches that handles booking, packages, payments, contracts and a client portal. If your business is a paid community or a course with a group around it, Mighty Networks fits. If your business is 1:1 sessions sold in packages, Paperbell fits. If you run both, or you deliver programs with habits and check-ins between sessions, neither covers the whole job on its own.
This guide compares the two on what they document and what public reviewers report, as listed in October 2026: price, fees, scheduling, payments, contracts, courses, community, apps and data export. Then it covers a third option. We make Coachful, so we say plainly where it beats both and where one of these two is still the better pick.

What is the short answer by use case?
Pick by the shape of your offer, not by the length of the feature list. The two tools solve different problems, so most coaches can rule one out in a minute.
- You sell a membership, a paid community or a cohort course: Mighty Networks. It is built around a feed, courses, events and livestreams, with free Mighty iOS and Android apps for members.
- You sell 1:1 coaching packages and want admin off your plate: Paperbell. One price covers booking, packages, payments, contracts, a client portal and a simple website, with unlimited clients.
- You sell 1:1 coaching and run a group or community too: you would need both tools, which means two logins for you, two places for clients and two bills. This is where a single platform such as Coachful is worth a look.
- You deliver multi-week programs with daily tasks, habits and check-ins: neither tool documents per-client habits or daily check-ins. Coachful does.
- You need clinical records or insurance billing: none of the three. Use a clinical practice system.
How do Mighty Networks and Paperbell compare side by side?
Our ranking criteria, stated up front: one login for the whole client journey, delivery between sessions, total stack cost, and setup effort (including whether someone will build it for you). On those criteria Coachful leads, Paperbell covers the 1:1 admin side well, and Mighty Networks covers the group side well.
| Feature | Coachful | Mighty Networks | Paperbell |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful at a glance | Booking, payments, contracts, programs, courses, community, website, email and AI in one login | Community, courses, events, livestreams | 1:1 coaching admin: booking, packages, payments, contracts, portal |
| 1:1 booking with calendar sync | Yes: Google, Apple/iCloud, Outlook two-way | No 1:1 scheduling documented | Yes |
| Contracts and e-signature | Yes, sent before the first call | No | Yes |
| Invoices | Per transaction plus manual invoices | No invoicing | Payments and packages |
| Courses | Modules, lessons, drip, completion tracking | Yes, core feature | Pricing page lists online classes and digital downloads; no full LMS in older profile data |
| Community feed and group chat | Yes, plus cohort groups created on enrollment | Yes, core feature | No community (older profile data) |
| Habits, daily check-ins, goals | Yes | No per-client habits or check-ins | No goal or habit tracking (older profile data) |
| Client mobile app | Coach's branding inside the Coachful app | Free Mighty-branded apps; own branded apps on Mighty Pro only | No native app; mobile browser (older profile data) |
| Website and funnels | Website builder, funnels, email sequences | Custom domain for the network | Simple coaching website and email workflows |
| Platform fee on sales | 0%, processing only | 2% Launch, 1% Scale, 0.5% Growth and Pro | No additional transaction fees |
| Payment processors | Stripe Connect or Razorpay | Stripe | Stripe and PayPal (older profile data) |
| Free trial | A free trial | 14 days, no card, Growth features | "Try For Free"; 7 days with limits per older help docs |
Two things stand out. First, the tools barely overlap: Mighty Networks has no 1:1 scheduling, invoicing or contracts, and Paperbell has no community. Second, neither tracks what clients do between sessions at the level of daily habits or check-ins, which matters if your results depend on what happens on a Tuesday afternoon rather than in the call itself.
What does each one cost?
Paperbell has one plan at $97 a month or $970 a year. Mighty Networks starts at $95 a month billed monthly or $79 a month billed annually, and also takes a platform fee on sales. These are the prices as listed in October 2026.
| Plan | Monthly billing | Annual billing | Platform fee on sales | Main limits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients | Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients | 0% | Lower plans cap clients; Pro is unlimited; team plans add seats |
| Mighty Networks Launch | $95/mo | $79/mo ($950/yr) | 2% | 3 hosts, 10 moderators, 200 GB, livestream 20 h/mo for 100 attendees |
| Mighty Networks Scale | $215/mo | $179/mo | 1% | 5 hosts, 15 moderators, 500 GB, livestream 30 h/mo for 200 attendees |
| Mighty Networks Growth | Not published | $354/mo | 0.5% | 10 hosts, 100 moderators, 1 TB, livestream 40 h/mo for 1,000 attendees |
| Mighty Pro | Custom | Custom | 0.5% | Unlimited hosts; your own branded apps |
| Paperbell (single plan) | $97/mo | $970/yr (about $80.83/mo) | None added | Unlimited clients, sessions, files, packages |
A note on reading Mighty's pricing page: the cards show $79, $179 and $354 "per month" without saying how they are billed. Mighty's help docs confirm those are annual-billing prices, and give $95 (Launch) and $215 (Scale) for monthly billing. Growth has no published monthly price. Payment processing from Stripe sits on top of the platform fee on every plan.
Paperbell's annual price is shown against $1,164, marketed as two months free. Paperbell says there are no upsells or hidden add-ons and no additional transaction fees; Stripe or PayPal processing fees still apply. It also offers a 30-day money-back guarantee.

What do the fees do to your real cost?
Here is an illustrative example, not real customer data. Say a coach sells $5,000 a month through Mighty Networks on Launch. The 2% platform fee is $100 a month on top of the $95 subscription and Stripe processing. On Scale, the fee drops to 1% ($50) but the subscription rises to $215. On Paperbell, the same $5,000 adds no platform fee, only processing.
Now the stack cost. A coach who sells 1:1 packages and also runs a paid group would plausibly pay for both: Paperbell at $97 plus Mighty Networks Launch at $95 is $192 a month before Mighty's 2% fee and before any email tool for marketing outside Paperbell's workflows. That is the real comparison for hybrid coaches: not one tool against the other, but the pair against a single platform. For Coachful, the current plans are listed on the plans page (Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients), with no platform fee on sales.

Which is better for booking and scheduling?
Paperbell, clearly. Mighty Networks does not document 1:1 scheduling at all; its events and livestreams are one-to-many.
Paperbell's pricing page lists scheduling, video call integration and packages among its included features. Booking and packages for 1:1 clients are its core job. Mighty Networks handles events for the whole network or a group, which works for a weekly group call but not for a client booking a private 50-minute session on Thursday at 9 a.m. in their time zone. Coaches on Mighty who also do 1:1 work typically add a separate booking tool, which is another login and another place a client has to look.
Coachful covers this with booking pages that have availability rules, buffers, minimum notice and time-zone detection, two-way Google, Apple/iCloud and Outlook sync, built-in video or auto-created Zoom, Meet or Teams links, and email reminders, with SMS (24 hours before) and WhatsApp (1 hour before) once messaging is enabled. Sessions can be paid or drawn from session credits, intake questions run at booking, and multi-coach session types can assign round-robin or least-busy.

If you want to see how that looks in practice, this short walkthrough shows Coachful's scheduling setup:
More on this in our guide to scheduling software for coaches.
How do payments, contracts and invoices compare?
Paperbell handles the full 1:1 money trail: packages, payments and contracts. Mighty Networks handles memberships and course sales through Stripe but has no invoicing or contracts.
On Mighty Networks, members pay for access to the network, a course or a membership tier, in hundreds of local currencies through Stripe. That is well suited to recurring community revenue. What it does not do is send a coaching agreement before a first call or issue an invoice for a private package. Coaches who need those use another tool.
Paperbell includes contracts alongside packages and payments in its single plan. It lists Stripe and PayPal as processors in older profile data from September 2026. For coaches whose clients insist on PayPal, that is a real point in Paperbell's favour, since Coachful does not support PayPal.
Coachful takes payments through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account: one-time, subscriptions, payment plans, order bumps, coupons, refunds, Apple Pay and Google Pay, and Stripe Tax. Every transaction gets an invoice, and you can raise manual invoices. Coaching agreements with e-signature go out before the first call and are stored on the client record. Since August 2026, Coachful charges a 0% platform fee; you pay only Stripe or Razorpay processing.

See coaching payment software and coaching contracts for how those flows are set up.
Which is better for courses and community?
Mighty Networks, by a wide margin. Community, courses and events are what it is built for, while Paperbell's group features are light.

Mighty Networks gives you a feed, courses, events, livestreams, AI Cohost and People Magic, basic automations on Launch, and more automations, APIs, MCP access and Kit, Zapier and affiliate integrations on Scale. Livestream hours and attendee caps scale by plan (20 hours a month for 100 attendees on Launch, up to 40 hours for 1,000 on Growth). Members get the free Mighty iOS and Android apps. If you want your own app in the App Store under your own name, that is Mighty Pro only, at custom pricing.
Paperbell's pricing page now lists group coaching, online classes and digital downloads among its features. Older profile data from September 2026 describes no full course LMS, no community and no goal or habit tracking. In practice, Paperbell can sell and schedule a group session and deliver files, but it is not where a member community lives.
Coachful includes courses with modules, lessons, drip and completion tracking, plus downloads, videos, books, AI tools, events and bundles, all delivered into the client's branded home and app. The community has a feed, group chat, direct messages and video events, and cohort groups are created automatically when a client enrolls in a program. That last part is the bridge Mighty does not build: the person who bought your 12-week program is already in the right group, on the same login they use to book and pay.

What happens between sessions?
Neither Mighty Networks nor Paperbell documents per-client habits, daily check-ins or private coaching plans. This is the biggest gap for coaches whose results depend on follow-through.
Mighty Networks treats members as a group. You can post prompts, run challenges in the feed and host events, but there is no private plan for one client with their own weekly goals and a habit streak. Paperbell treats clients as an admin record: sessions, payments, files and notes. Neither gives you a view of who did their morning check-in, who has gone quiet and who is at risk of dropping off.
Coachful is built for this part. Multi-week programs carry weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars and streaks. Each client record shows goals, check-ins, habits, notes, intake answers, tags, payments and sessions, with a status of thriving, active, quiet or at risk, and an AI briefing before you meet. If you choose to, you can set up an AI Coach: an AI version of you, configured by you, that selected clients can chat with between sessions.

For more on the AI side, see the AI coaching assistant page.
What is the client experience like on each?
On Mighty Networks, clients live in a Mighty-branded app or web community. On Paperbell, they get a client portal in the browser. On Coachful, they get one home for everything under your branding.
Mighty's member experience is polished for community: feed, notifications, courses and events in the free apps. The app carries Mighty's name unless you pay for Mighty Pro. A client who also books private sessions with you would leave that app to book somewhere else, then come back.

Paperbell's client portal keeps packages, sessions, contracts and files together. Older profile data (September 2026) notes no native mobile app, so clients use the mobile browser. For a 1:1 client who books, pays and attends, that is often enough. For a client in a group program, there is no community to go to.
Coachful's client app is the coach's branding inside the Coachful app (it ships under the Coachful listing, not your own App Store account). Inside, the client sees their next session, pre-session tasks, programs, progress, documents, courses and the community, with one login.

How do automations, website and marketing compare?
Paperbell includes a simple coaching website and email workflows. Mighty Networks gives you a custom domain for your network and automations inside the community. Neither is a full marketing website and funnel builder.
Having the website inside the same tool as booking and packages suits a solo coach who does not want to manage a separate site. Mighty Networks includes basic automations on Launch, with more advanced and AI automations on Growth; on Scale you can connect Kit for email and Zapier for other tools.
Coachful includes a section-based website builder with a blog, custom domain, SEO settings, 30 designed homepage templates and an Import website option. You also get booking, application, lead-magnet and checkout funnels with pixels and UTM tracking, a link-in-bio page that sells, email lists, broadcasts and multi-step sequences with triggers, delays, branching and A/B splits. On the social side, there is a planner that schedules posts to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Threads and YouTube, and Instagram automations that reply to a keyword comment with a DM carrying your booking link, lead magnet or checkout.

See the coach website builder for templates and examples.
What about team seats, data export and support?
Mighty Networks scales to teams of hosts and moderators; Paperbell is priced per coach. Exports are limited on both.
Mighty includes 3 hosts and 10 moderators on Launch, rising to 10 hosts and 100 moderators on Growth and unlimited on Mighty Pro. Growth adds priority support and migration services, with optional SSO and white-label email. On data, Mighty's plan docs list a member list export with member tags on Launch and Scale; older profile data says posts and content are not bulk-exportable. If you are already thinking about leaving, read how to migrate from Mighty Networks without losing members.
Paperbell is a single plan for one coach. Client lists and history live in the Clients area; a documented CSV export was not verified in older profile data, so ask Paperbell before you commit if portability matters to you.
Coachful's Studio and Agency plans add coach seats with per-coach availability and staff permissions. You can export all client data as a ZIP (roster, notes, check-ins, goals, habits, sessions, form responses) and export courses. Coachful is GDPR-ready. When you join, your clients, programs and content are imported for you.
What do public reviewers say?
Both have middling public ratings on Trustpilot as seen on 2026-10-25, and the sample sizes differ a lot.
- Mighty Networks: 3.3 on Trustpilot from 219 reviews.
- Paperbell: 3.5 on Trustpilot from 14 reviews, down from 3.9 on 13. With so few reviews, one or two new ones move the score.
- Coachful: 4.5 on Trustpilot from 21 reviews.
Treat all three as small signals. Read recent reviews for the features you depend on rather than relying on the average.

Is there a third option that beats both?
Yes, for many coaches: Coachful. It combines the 1:1 admin that Paperbell does with the courses and community that Mighty Networks does, and adds program delivery between sessions that neither documents.

What Coachful is. Coachful is a coaching platform. One subscription covers booking, payments, contracts, program delivery with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant, with one login for the coach and one branded app for the client. The company is based in Tallinn, Estonia.
Who it is for. Coaches who deliver programs, not just sessions; solo coaches growing into a small team; and coaches replacing four to six tools, for example the Paperbell plus Mighty Networks plus email tool stack described above.
What it adds. Michelle, the built-in AI assistant, works from your live practice data: it builds programs, drafts emails and content, summarizes recorded sessions, briefs you before sessions and, if you want it, gives private feedback on your own coaching against ICF Core Competencies 3 to 8. Questions and planning are included in your Coachful membership; confirmed builds and changes use AI credits. There are more than 40 ready-to-film program templates, 48 course templates with quizzes and about 25 funnel templates. ICF credential tracking counts coaching hours and distinct clients and exports a client coaching log with paid and pro bono hours.

Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. On every plan, you can ask the Coachful team to build things for you inside your own account: a website, funnel, sales page, program, course outline and written material, email sequence, form, link in bio, lead quiz, event, automation and more. From Create, choose "We'll build it for you · FREE", describe what you want, and attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files such as logos, photos, brand guides or copy. Builds usually arrive within about 24 hours. Nothing is invented: no fake credentials, testimonials or prices, and gaps are left for you to fill. It does not cover recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing.
Some recent builds, anonymized: a menopause and midlife health coach starting from nothing got a five-page site in sage and cream with every button leading to a free 20-minute consultation. A somatic coach leaving Kajabi had the homepage and About page rebuilt and the contact form connected. A real-estate and money coach got a year-long cohort program with an application form, an eight-page site and a free nine-day bootcamp funnel. Read more about the free white-glove service.

When Coachful beats both
- You sell 1:1 sessions and a group program, and you are tired of sending clients to two places.
- Your results depend on daily habits, check-ins and weekly goals between calls.
- You want booking, contracts, invoices, courses, community, website and email on one login with no platform fee on sales.
- You would rather describe your site or funnel and have it built than spend weekends in a page editor.
- You want your ICF hours counted for you.
When Mighty Networks or Paperbell is still the better pick
- Pick Mighty Networks over Coachful if your business is a large community first, you need many moderators, SSO or migration services, or you want your own app in the App Store under your name (Mighty Pro).
- Pick Paperbell over Coachful if your clients need to pay by PayPal, or you only run 1:1 packages and want the simplest possible admin with nothing else to learn.
- Pick neither of the three if you need HIPAA compliance with a BAA, clinical records or insurance billing. Coachful is not HIPAA-certified, and it is not built for clinical record-keeping.
What Coachful does not do, so you can decide with the full picture: no PayPal, no permanent no-cost plan, no Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop or Oura sync, no stock exercise videos, no multi-stage sales deal board or Salesforce or HubSpot integration, no third-party plugins, and it is not a course marketplace. The affiliate program tracks links, clicks, conversions and revenue, but payouts are recorded manually.
How to start. Begin with a free trial, request a white-glove build from the Create page, and have your clients, programs and content imported during onboarding. Compare plans on the plans page, or read the Coachful vs Paperbell comparison and the Mighty Networks alternative page.
Frequently asked questions
Is Mighty Networks or Paperbell cheaper?
On subscription alone they are close: Mighty Networks Launch is $95 a month billed monthly ($79 a month annually) and Paperbell is $97 a month ($970 a year). Mighty adds a 2% platform fee on Launch sales, while Paperbell adds no transaction fee. For a coach with meaningful sales, Paperbell usually costs less, but it does not include a community.
Can Mighty Networks book 1:1 coaching sessions?
Mighty Networks does not document 1:1 scheduling, invoicing or contracts. Its events and livestreams are one-to-many. Coaches who do private sessions on Mighty usually add a separate booking tool.
Does Paperbell have a community or courses?
Paperbell's pricing page lists group coaching, online classes and digital downloads. Older profile data from September 2026 describes no full course LMS and no community feed. If a member community is central to your offer, Paperbell alone will not cover it.
Can I use Mighty Networks and Paperbell together?
Yes, and some coaches do: Paperbell for 1:1 packages and Mighty Networks for the group. The cost is two subscriptions, Mighty's platform fee, two logins for you and two places for clients. A single platform such as Coachful removes that split.
Which has a better mobile app?
Mighty Networks gives members free Mighty-branded iOS and Android apps, with your own branded apps only on custom-priced Mighty Pro. Paperbell has no native app according to older profile data; clients use the mobile browser. Coachful's client app shows your branding inside the Coachful app.
Does either platform take a cut of my sales?
Mighty Networks takes 2% on Launch, 1% on Scale and 0.5% on Growth and Mighty Pro, plus Stripe processing. Paperbell says it adds no transaction fees; Stripe or PayPal processing still applies. Coachful charges a 0% platform fee, so only Stripe or Razorpay processing applies.
Do they offer free trials?
Mighty Networks offers a 14-day trial with no credit card that includes Growth plan features. Paperbell has a "Try For Free" button; its help center (July 2026) described a 7-day trial with the public site offline and client messages off, plus a 30-day money-back guarantee. Coachful offers a free trial.
What is Coachful's free white-glove service?
It is a done-for-you build included on every Coachful plan. You describe a website, funnel, program, course outline, email sequence or similar, attach up to 8 links and 10 files, and the team builds it in your account, usually within about 24 hours. It does not include video recording, logo design, ads or ongoing marketing.
Is any of these HIPAA compliant?
Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and does not sign a BAA, so it is not for clinical records or insurance billing. Neither Mighty Networks nor Paperbell lists HIPAA compliance in the data we reviewed. If you handle protected health information, use a clinical practice system and keep coaching within its scope.
How hard is it to move off Mighty Networks or Paperbell?
Mighty's plan docs list a member export with tags on Launch and Scale, but older profile data says posts and content are not bulk-exportable. Paperbell's CSV export was not verified, so ask before you rely on it. When you move to Coachful, your clients, programs and content are imported for you during onboarding.
