Podia Review 2026: Strengths, Limits and Verdict for Coaches

Podia Review 2026: Strengths, Limits and Verdict for Coaches

This Podia review comes down to one point: Podia is a clean, beginner-friendly storefront for selling courses, downloads, webinars, coaching sessions and community memberships, and its public reviewers praise its support. It is a weaker fit for coaches whose main product is ongoing client work, because it has no habit tracking, no daily check-ins and no per-client plans, and its email allowances are small. Below we cover what Podia does for each part of a coaching business, what it costs as listed in October 2026, what public reviewers praise and criticize, and where a coaching platform fits better.

The verdict in brief.

  • Podia suits: coaches and creators whose income comes mostly from courses, downloads, webinars and a membership community, who want a simple all-in-one storefront with a website and email included.
  • Coaches who should skip it: anyone running multi-week 1:1 or group programs with daily habits, check-ins, contracts and per-client progress, or anyone with a list of more than a few hundred email subscribers on a tight budget.
  • Public rating: 4.1 out of 5 on Trustpilot from 153 reviews, seen on October 25, 2026. About 63% of those reviews are five stars and about 26% are one star, so opinions are split rather than lukewarm.
  • Price: $49, $99 or $179 a month billed monthly ($42, $84 or $150 a month billed annually), with a 5% Podia transaction fee on the cheapest plan.

A disclosure before going further: We make Coachful, a coaching platform that competes with Podia for some coaches. We have not tested Podia hands-on for this article. Everything about Podia below comes from what Podia documents on its pricing page, its older public product profile, and what public reviewers report on Trustpilot.

What is Podia?

Podia is an online platform for selling digital products and running a small creator business from one account. On its pricing page it lists courses, downloads, coaching, webinars, community, a website and email marketing on every plan.

The appeal is simplicity. Instead of stitching together a course host, a landing page builder, an email tool and a checkout, a creator signs up once and gets a storefront with all of those pieces. Podia allows unlimited customers on every plan and limits you instead by the number of products, videos, community spaces and email subscribers.

For coaches, the important word is "products." Podia treats coaching as one more thing you sell, alongside a course or a PDF. That works if you sell single sessions or session packages. It is less suited to coaching that happens between sessions: the daily habits, weekly goals, check-ins and progress notes that structured programs depend on. Podia's older public profile lists no client habits, no check-ins, no per-client plans, no mobile app and no native video calls.

If you mostly want to know what Podia costs, our Podia pricing breakdown goes plan by plan with worked totals. This article is the wider review.

What does Podia do for each part of a coaching business?

Podia covers marketing and selling well for a small creator, covers delivery well for courses and downloads, and covers client experience and admin only lightly. Here is how it looks job by job, with honest notes on each.

Thinking of launching your coaching business?

Answer a few questions and Coachful builds it around you: your website, programs, booking and payments. Ready in minutes.

Build your platform

Marketing: website and email

Every Podia plan includes a website and email marketing, which is the main reason solo creators choose it. You can publish a sales page, a blog and product pages without a separate site builder. One recent Trustpilot reviewer named the website builder and the newer email and blog features as reasons they moved their whole business onto Podia.

The catch is the email allowance. Mover includes 100 email subscribers, Shaker 500 and Earthquaker 1,000. Podia says it never auto-upgrades you when you pass the limit, and extra subscribers are sold as an add-on whose price is not shown on the pricing page. A coach who runs a lead magnet and grows a list of a few thousand people will either pay for that add-on or keep a separate email tool, which undoes part of the all-in-one appeal. One critical reviewer on Trustpilot also mentions email sending limits as a frustration.

Affiliate marketing only arrives on Shaker. If you plan to grow through partners or past clients referring others, budget for the middle plan.

Selling: checkout, fees and payment options

Podia runs checkout through Stripe on all plans and adds PayPal on Shaker and above. Upsells are also a Shaker feature. Standard processing (2.9% plus 30 cents for Stripe) applies on top of anything Podia charges.

The fee to watch is the 5% transaction fee on Mover. As an illustrative example, a coach selling $2,000 a month on Mover pays $100 in Podia fees on top of the $49 plan, which is more than the $99 Shaker plan with its 0% fee. The break-even is $1,000 a month in sales: below that, Mover is cheaper; above it, Shaker is.

Delivery: courses, downloads, webinars and community

Delivery is where Podia is strongest. Courses, downloads, webinars and community spaces sit in one place, and the plan limits are generous for a solo creator: 50 products, 500 videos and 25 community spaces on Mover, rising to unlimited on Earthquaker. One long-time reviewer says their students find it easy to use, and a coach running a membership praised the templates and the feedback from members on the interface.

What delivery does not include is structured coaching between sessions. There is nowhere for a client to log a daily habit, answer a morning check-in or see weekly goals laid out for them, and nowhere for you to see which clients are on track and which have gone quiet. For a course seller, that is fine. For a coach running a 12-week program, it is the core of the work.

Client experience: browser, not app

Podia's older public profile notes no mobile app and no native video calls. Clients use the storefront and community in a browser, and live sessions run on a separate video tool. For many course buyers that is enough. For coaching clients who check in daily, a phone app with reminders tends to matter more.

Admin: assistants, integrations and exports

Mover has no assistant seat, Shaker has one, and Earthquaker has unlimited assistants. Zapier arrives on Shaker. On data export, Podia's older profile lists contacts to CSV, a per-product customer export that only covers active enrollments, and a sales and invoice export. That is workable for leaving later, but test it during the trial if portability matters to you.

Podia does not document contracts with e-signature, coaching agreements, intake forms tied to a client record, or ICF hour tracking. Coaches who need those will run them elsewhere.

How much does Podia cost in 2026?

Podia costs $49, $99 or $179 a month on monthly billing, or $42, $84 or $150 a month on annual billing, as listed in October 2026. There is no free plan, and the free trial is 14 days with full access and no credit card or plan selection required.

The visible price block on Podia's pricing page shows the annual prices; the monthly-billed prices appear in the page's structured data. Here is the summary, with Coachful included for comparison.

PlanPriceKey limitsPlatform fee on sales
CoachfulLite: $29/month for up to 5 clientsFlat monthly plans; lower plans cap clients, Pro is unlimited; email lists, courses, community and website included in your Coachful membership0% platform fee; only Stripe or Razorpay processing
Podia Mover$49/month, or $42/month billed annually ($504/year)50 products, 500 videos, 25 community spaces, 100 email subscribers5%
Podia Shaker$99/month, or $84/month billed annually ($1,008/year)150 products, 1,000 videos, 100 spaces, 500 email subscribers, 1 assistant0%
Podia Earthquaker$179/month, or $150/month billed annually ($1,800/year)Unlimited products, videos, spaces and assistants; 1,000 email subscribers0%

Three things change the real bill. First, the 5% fee on Mover, covered above. Second, the email subscriber add-on once your list grows past the included number. Third, the tools you still pay for alongside Podia if you coach clients one to one: a scheduler, a contract and e-signature tool, a video call tool, and possibly a habit or check-in app. Our full Podia pricing guide works through totals for three coaching business sizes.

What do public reviewers praise and complain about?

On Trustpilot, Podia holds 4.1 out of 5 from 153 reviews as of October 25, 2026, up from 4.0 and 139 reviews in our earlier profile. The distribution is polarized: roughly 63% five-star and 26% one-star reviews, with very few in between. The paraphrased themes below come from the reviews visible on that page in October 2026.

What reviewers praise

  • Customer support. This is the most common theme by far. Reviewers describe fast, patient replies from Podia's human team, chat that escalates from the AI assistant to a person when needed, and quick fixes for custom domain and DNS problems.
  • Consolidation. Two reviewers say they replaced a patchwork of tools (one counted five) with Podia, and another now runs their site, blog and product sales there.
  • Ease of setup. One reviewer says they built a site in a weekend after switching platforms; another chose Podia over Thinkific and Kajabi for setup ease, pricing and the value of the email features.
  • Longevity. A notable share of positive reviews come from people who have used Podia for four, five or six years, including a membership coach and a designer who builds Podia sites for clients.

What reviewers complain about

  • Account changes without warning. A long-time user rated Podia two stars in October 2026, saying recent changes to shared accounts, notifications and access across creators made it no longer the platform they signed up for, and that they now face a hard migration.
  • A basic, restrictive back end. A one-star reviewer called the back end clunky, mentioned email sending limits and said they waited six hours for a human reply. Podia replied that its staff work U.S. East Coast hours.
  • The AI support layer. Some reviewers were frustrated by the AI chatbot, and one said it sometimes gave wrong directions before a human helped. Podia responded to one complaint that the AI resolves about 70% of conversations and that a human is available on request.
  • Launch-time problems. One reviewer reported difficulties with a sales page before a launch and an unanswered question about a Google tag, and said they were leaving for a competitor. Podia replied that its guidance had been accurate.
  • A learning curve. Even a four-star reviewer mentioned that it takes time to learn.

None of the reviews we saw were about coaching-specific gaps such as habits or check-ins, which fits the picture: most Podia reviewers sell courses, memberships and digital products, and they judge it on those terms.

What are Podia's pros and cons?

Podia's main strengths are simplicity, support and a fair price for a content business; its main weaknesses for coaches are the missing client-delivery tools and the small email allowances.

ProsCons
Courses, downloads, webinars, coaching products, community, website and email on every planNo client habits, check-ins or per-client plans (older profile)
Unlimited customers on all plansOnly 100, 500 or 1,000 email subscribers included; extra costs more
0% Podia fee on Shaker and Earthquaker5% Podia fee on Mover
14-day trial with full access and no cardNo free plan
Support is the most praised feature on TrustpilotSome reviewers report slow human replies outside U.S. hours and frustration with the AI chatbot
Generous product, video and space limits for a solo creatorNo mobile app and no native video calls (older profile)
PayPal, upsells, affiliates and Zapier on ShakerNo contracts, e-signature or ICF hour tracking documented

Who is Podia best for?

Podia is best for a creator or coach whose business is mostly content: a few courses, a library of downloads, occasional webinars and a membership community, sold from one simple site.

  • Course-first coaches who sell a signature course and offer a handful of calls on the side.
  • Membership builders who want community spaces and drip content without a large platform.
  • Beginners who value friendly support and do not yet need contracts, habit tracking or a client app.
  • Small email lists: anyone under 500 subscribers on Shaker, or under 1,000 on Earthquaker.

Podia is a weaker fit for coaches whose income comes from programs where clients do work every day between calls: health and fitness coaches, habit and accountability coaches, executive coaches running multi-month engagements, and group coaches running cohorts. Those businesses usually need booking with calendar sync, contracts, client records, check-ins and progress tracking, and Podia leaves you to buy those elsewhere.

1. Coachful: the coaching platform for programs and clients

Coachful is a coaching platform. One subscription covers booking, payments, contracts, program delivery with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant, with one login for the coach and one branded app for the client. It is built for coaches who deliver programs, not just sessions; solo coaches growing into a small team; and coaches replacing four to six tools.

Which one looks like you?

Coachful builds your coaching website from a few answers, in a design chosen for your niche, with programs, booking and payments ready behind it.

Build your platform

Where Podia stops at the sale, Coachful continues into the program. You can build multi-week programs with weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars and streaks, then see each client's status as thriving, active, quiet or at risk.

Booking. Booking pages support availability rules, buffers, minimum notice and time-zone detection, with two-way Google, Apple/iCloud and Outlook calendar sync. Sessions get built-in video or auto-created Zoom, Meet or Teams links, plus email reminders, and SMS (24 hours before) and WhatsApp (1 hour before) reminders once messaging is enabled. You can sell paid sessions and session credits and ask intake questions at booking. See our coaching scheduling software page for more.

Contracts and payments. Coaching agreements with e-signature go out before the first call and are stored on the client record (more on coaching contracts). Payments run through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account: one-time, subscriptions, payment plans, order bumps, coupons, refunds, Apple Pay and Google Pay, and Stripe Tax, with an invoice per transaction plus manual invoices. Since August 2026, Coachful takes a 0% platform fee; you pay only Stripe or Razorpay processing.

Client records. Each client record holds goals, check-ins, habits, notes, intake answers, tags, payments, sessions and an AI briefing. Michelle, the built-in AI assistant, works from that live practice data to build programs, draft emails, summarize recorded sessions and brief you before sessions. Questions and planning with Michelle are included in your Coachful membership; confirmed builds and changes use AI credits.

Content, community and marketing. Courses with modules, lessons, drip and completion tracking sit alongside downloads, videos, books, events and bundles, all delivered into the client's branded home and app. The community includes a feed, group chat, direct messages and video events, with cohort groups created automatically on program enrollment. The section-based website builder has a blog, custom domain, SEO settings and 30 designed homepage templates, and funnels cover booking, application, lead-magnet and checkout flows with pixels and UTM tracking. Email lists, broadcasts and multi-step sequences with triggers, delays, branching and A/B splits are included too.

Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. On every plan, you can open Create, choose "We'll build it for you · FREE", and describe what you want: a website, funnel, sales page, program, course outline and written material, email sequence, lead quiz, form or something else. You can attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files such as logos, photos, brand guides and copy. The Coachful team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours. Nothing gets invented: no fake credentials, testimonials or prices, and gaps are left for you to fill. It does not include recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing. A somatic coach leaving Kajabi, for example, had the homepage and About page rebuilt and the contact form connected; a business mentor for beauty professionals got a 12-week mentorship sales page, a free start-up-guide funnel and rewritten follow-up emails. Read more about the free white-glove build service.

Coachful Create page with the We will build it for you card
The Create page in Coachful, where the free white-glove build request starts.

What Coachful does not do. It is not HIPAA-certified and offers no BAA, so it is not for clinical record-keeping or insurance billing. There is no PayPal and no permanent free plan. The client app ships under the Coachful listing with your branding, not under your own App Store account. There is no Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop or Oura sync, and it is not a course marketplace or a general website builder for non-coaching sites. If many of your buyers pay by PayPal, which Podia supports on Shaker and above, weigh that.

How to start. Start a free trial, connect Stripe or Razorpay, and either pick a template or ask the team to build your site, funnel or first program through the free white-glove service. Your clients, programs and content are imported for you during onboarding. Current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients. For a deeper look, read our Coachful review, which includes who should not buy it.

Pick Podia over Coachful if your business is mainly courses and downloads with almost no ongoing client work, you need PayPal at checkout, or you want the specific simplicity and long-praised support that Podia's reviewers describe.

2. Kajabi: a bigger course and funnel platform

Kajabi homepage hero section
Kajabi's homepage in October 2026.

Kajabi covers courses, community, website, funnels and email for knowledge businesses, and it is the platform most often compared with Podia (see our Kajabi vs Podia comparison). As listed in October 2026, Basic is $179 a month ($143 billed annually) with 5 products, 2,500 contacts, 1 community and 0 AI credits; Growth is $249 a month ($199 annually) with 25,000 contacts. Using a payment processor other than Kajabi Payments or PayPal adds a 0.5% to 2% Kajabi fee. Like Podia, Kajabi has no habit tracking or daily client check-ins; coaching is sold as products and communities.

Pick it over Coachful if you run a large content and funnel business with a big contact list and want marketing depth over client delivery.

3. Teachable: course selling with student apps

Teachable homepage hero section
Teachable's homepage in October 2026.

Teachable is a course and digital-product platform with student mobile apps. Starter is $39 a month ($29 billed annually) with 5 products and a 7.5% platform fee; Builder is $89 a month ($69 annually) with 10 products and 0% fees. It has no native scheduling or calendar sync (older profile), so coaching calls rely on separate tools, and it has no habits or check-ins.

Pick it over Coachful if you sell courses only and want a dedicated student app for course content.

4. Systeme.io: the low-cost funnel suite

Systeme.io homepage hero section
Systeme.io's homepage in October 2026.

Systeme.io bundles funnels, email, courses, community, a blog and an affiliate program at a low price. Its Free plan never expires and includes 2,000 contacts, 3 funnels and 1 course; Startup is $17 a month, Webinar $47 and Unlimited $97, all with 0% transaction fees. It has no native 1:1 scheduling with client records, habits or check-ins (older profile), and its course and community features are basic. Our Systeme.io review covers it in depth.

Pick it over Coachful if you are pre-revenue, your budget is close to zero, and you mainly need funnels and email.

5. Stan Store: selling from your link in bio

Stan Store homepage hero section
Stan Store's homepage in October 2026.

Stan Store is a link-in-bio storefront for selling digital products, courses, memberships and paid calls. Creator is $29 a month ($25 billed annually) and Creator Pro is $99 a month ($79 annually), with 0% Stan fees. Email marketing, upsells, discount codes and affiliates are only on Creator Pro, and there are no contracts, invoices, client records, habits or check-ins. See our Stan Store review.

Pick it over Coachful if nearly all your buyers come from social media and you want the fastest possible mobile checkout.

Looking for something else? Coaches who mainly need sessions, contracts and payments often compare Paperbell, and community-first coaches look at Circle and Skool. Our comparison hub lists more.

How does Podia compare with Coachful for a typical coaching program?

For a program-based coach, Podia handles the sale and the content while Coachful also handles the client work between calls. Take an illustrative 12-week group program for 15 clients with weekly calls, a short course, daily habit tracking and a signed agreement.

On Podia, you would sell the program and host the course and community on Shaker ($99 a month) to avoid the 5% fee. You would then add a scheduler for the calls, a video tool, an e-signature tool for agreements and some way for clients to log habits and answer check-ins, such as a form tool or a habit app. Each of those is another login for you and your clients.

On Coachful, the same program lives in one place: the booking page and calendar, the agreement sent before the first call, the payment plan, the course, the cohort group created on enrollment, and the daily habits and check-ins in the client's branded app. The plan that covers 15 clients is Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients, with no platform fee on sales.

This is the main reason we suggest coaches price out their full stack, not just the headline plan, before choosing. Our guide to group coaching software and our course platform for coaches page explain the trade-offs in more detail.

Is Podia good for health and fitness coaches?

Podia works for health and fitness coaches who sell recorded programs or downloadable plans, but not for those who track clients day to day. It does not document workout builders, nutrition targets, progress photos, form-check video or check-ins.

Coachful's Fitness & Nutrition pack adds a workout builder with an illustrated exercise library, workout logging with set history and PRs, nutrition targets, meal plans, recipes, barcode scanning, private progress photos and measurements, weekly check-ins and private form-check video with timestamped comments. It has no stock exercise videos, so coaches attach their own demos, and it does not sync with Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop or Oura. See the Fitness & Nutrition pack.

Whatever platform you use, coaching is not medical treatment. Health coaches should stay within their scope, avoid diagnosing or prescribing, and refer clients to a physician, dietitian or mental health professional when symptoms, medications or eating concerns are outside a coach's role.

Can you move from Podia to another platform?

Yes, but plan it. Podia's older profile lists contact export to CSV, a per-product customer export that covers active enrollments only, and a sales and invoice export. Course videos and pages need to be rebuilt or re-uploaded on the new platform, and subscriptions billed through Stripe need a careful handover so clients are not charged twice or dropped.

The two-star reviewer who left in October 2026 described the move as long and difficult, which is common for any creator with years of content. If you move to Coachful, clients, programs and content are imported for you during onboarding, and the free white-glove service can rebuild your site or sales pages inside your account. Coachful also provides a full client data export as a ZIP if you ever leave.

Our verdict: is Podia worth it for coaches?

Podia is worth it for coaches whose business is mostly content: courses, downloads, webinars and a membership community, with a small email list and a preference for simplicity and responsive support. Shaker at $99 a month is the sensible plan for most, because it removes the 5% fee and adds PayPal, upsells, affiliates and Zapier.

Podia is not worth it as your only tool if your clients pay you for a transformation that happens between sessions. It has no habits, check-ins, per-client plans, contracts or client app, so you will add three or four tools around it. For that kind of coach, Coachful is the better fit: one login for booking, contracts, payments, programs, check-ins, courses, community and marketing, with no platform fee on sales and a free white-glove service to build your site, funnel or first program. Frequently asked questions about Podia

Is Podia legit?

Yes. Podia is an established platform with a 4.1 out of 5 rating on Trustpilot from 153 reviews as of October 2026, and many reviewers say they have used it for four to six years. Reviews are polarized, though, with about a quarter at one star.

Does Podia have a free plan?

No. Podia has no free plan. It offers a 14-day free trial with full access and no credit card or plan selection required, as listed in October 2026.

Does Podia charge transaction fees?

Podia charges a 5% transaction fee on the Mover plan and 0% on Shaker and Earthquaker. Stripe or PayPal processing, typically 2.9% plus 30 cents, applies on every plan.

Is Podia good for 1:1 coaching?

Podia lets you sell coaching as a product, but it does not document habits, check-ins, per-client plans, contracts or a client app, and its older profile lists no native video calls. Coaches who run ongoing 1:1 programs usually need a coaching platform instead or several tools alongside Podia.

How many email subscribers does Podia include?

Mover includes 100 email subscribers, Shaker 500 and Earthquaker 1,000. Extra subscribers are sold as an add-on whose price is not shown on the pricing page, and Podia says it never auto-upgrades you.

Does Podia have a mobile app?

Podia's older public profile lists no mobile app; clients use the storefront and community in a browser. Check Podia's current documentation if a native app matters to you.

What is the best Podia alternative for coaches?

For coaches running programs with ongoing client work, Coachful is the strongest alternative because it combines booking, contracts, payments, habits, check-ins, courses, community and marketing in one login. For pure course businesses, Kajabi and Teachable are common choices, and Systeme.io suits very tight budgets.

What is Coachful's free white-glove service?

It is a free build service on every Coachful plan. You describe what you want, such as a website, funnel, sales page, program or email sequence, attach up to 8 links and 10 files, and the Coachful team builds it inside your account, usually within about 24 hours. It does not include recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing.

Does Coachful support PayPal like Podia?

No. Coachful takes payments through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account, including Apple Pay and Google Pay, but not PayPal. Podia offers PayPal on Shaker and above.

Can I try Podia and Coachful before paying?

Yes. Podia offers a 14-day trial without a card, and Coachful offers a free trial. Running the same small program through both during the trials is the fastest way to see which fits your coaching.
