CoachAccountable vs Trainerize (2026): Pricing and Verdict

If you are weighing coachaccountable vs trainerize, the short answer is that they solve different problems. CoachAccountable is a coaching back office built around sessions, action plans, worksheets, metrics and invoicing, and it suits life, business and executive coaches. ABC Trainerize is a fitness training app built around workouts, habits, nutrition tracking and a client mobile app, and it suits personal trainers. Pick the one that matches what you deliver, and check the add-ons before you trust either starting price.
This guide compares both tools on pricing (as listed in October 2026), features, client experience and data export, then covers a third option. We make Coachful, so we say plainly where it beats both and where it does not. Every vendor fact below comes from the vendors' own pricing pages and public review sites; we did not run hands-on tests.
What is the short answer by use case?
Choose by what your clients actually do between sessions. If they work on goals, commitments and reflections, CoachAccountable fits; if they log workouts and meals on their phone, Trainerize fits; if you need both plus booking, payments, courses and a website, a single platform such as Coachful costs less in tools and time.
- Life, business, executive or career coach running 1:1 engagements: CoachAccountable over Trainerize. Its action plans, worksheets and agreements match how these coaches work, and every plan carries the full feature set.
- Personal trainer or online fitness coach: Trainerize over CoachAccountable. It has a workout builder, meal and macro tracking, a client mobile app and wearable integrations on paid plans.
- Coach testing the waters with one client: Trainerize, because its Basic plan is free for one client. CoachAccountable has no free plan.
- Practice with several coaches: CoachAccountable, which includes unlimited coaches and admins on every plan.
- Coach who delivers programs, sells offers and wants one login for the whole client journey: Coachful, which covers booking, payments, contracts, programs with habits and check-ins, courses, community, a website with funnels and email in one membership.

How do CoachAccountable and Trainerize compare side by side?
CoachAccountable is broader for coaching admin; Trainerize is deeper for fitness delivery. Neither includes a website builder, funnels or email marketing, according to their own feature lists and our earlier profiles of each.
How we rank: one login for the whole client journey, delivery between sessions, total stack cost, and setup effort (including a free white-glove build). On those criteria Coachful comes first; the other two follow in the order that best fits most coaches reading this.
| Tool | Built for | Starting price | Free option | Client app | Website and funnels | Trustpilot |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Coaches who deliver programs, from solo to small team | Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients | A free trial | Coach's branding inside the Coachful app | Included: website builder, funnels, email | 4.5 (21 reviews) |
| CoachAccountable | Life, business and executive coaching back office | $20/month for 2 active clients | 30-day trial, no card | No native mobile app (September 2026 profile) | None | 4.8 (47 reviews) |
| ABC Trainerize | Personal trainers and fitness studios | $0 for 1 client; $10/month for 2 | Free 1-client plan; 30-day trial with unlimited clients | Mobile app; custom branded app $169 one-time setup on Pro | None | 3.1 (100 reviews) |
Ratings were seen on Trustpilot on 25 October 2026. A rating is a signal, not a verdict: CoachAccountable's 4.8 comes from 47 reviews and Trainerize's 3.1 from 100.
What does each tool cost? Pricing compared
CoachAccountable charges by active client with nothing extra to buy; Trainerize looks cheaper at the start but sells scheduling, payments, video and advanced nutrition as add-ons below its Studio tier. Here is what each vendor listed in October 2026.

CoachAccountable pricing
CoachAccountable uses one ladder priced by active clients: 2 clients for $20 a month, 5 for $40, 10 for $70, 20 for $120, 35 for $200, 50 for $250, 75 for $340 and 100 for $400, rising to $4,000 a month for 1,000 clients. Only active clients count, so a former client who keeps lifetime access to their records does not move you up a tier. The page states there are no add-ons and no discounts, and answers the annual-billing question with "Nope!". The trial lasts 30 days with no card and no limits.

Trainerize pricing
Trainerize lists a free Basic plan for one client, Grow at $10 a month for two clients ($9 on annual billing), and Pro from $25 a month for five clients ($23 annual), with Pro tiers for 15, 30, 50, 75, 100 and 200 clients. Studio Plus starts at $275 a month for up to 500 members (the plan card shows $248 on annual billing) and includes all add-ons and a studio-level branded app. The pricing page contradicts itself in places: the FAQ quotes monthly prices while the plan cards show annual ones, and prices for Pro tiers above five clients are no longer printed. As listed in September 2026, Pro 15 was $50, Pro 30 was $79 and Pro 50 was $135 a month.
The add-ons, as listed in October 2026:
- Advanced Nutrition Coaching: $20/month on Grow, Pro 5 and Pro 15; $45/month on Pro 30 to 200.
- Business (scheduling, referrals, selling products, premium content): $25/month.
- Video Coaching: $10/month for 50 hours of video calls and 100 hours of streaming.
- Stripe Integrated Payments: $10/month.
- Custom Branded App on Pro: $169 one-time setup.
- FitMetrics: from $6 per client.
The 30-day trial includes unlimited clients and no card, then reverts to the free one-client plan. Add-ons are not included during the trial, so you cannot test scheduling or payments before paying for them.
What would you actually pay?
The table below compares the cost at common roster sizes. Trainerize figures show the Pro tier alone and then the Pro tier plus Business, Stripe payments and Video Coaching, which is what a coach needs to book, charge and run calls inside the app. Treat the "with add-ons" column as an example; your mix may differ.
| Tool | 5 clients | 10 clients | 20 clients | 50 clients |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients | Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients | Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients | Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients |
| CoachAccountable | $40/month | $70/month | $120/month | $250/month |
| Trainerize, Pro tier only | $25/month | $50/month (Pro 15, September 2026 listing) | $79/month (Pro 30, September 2026 listing) | $135/month (Pro 50, September 2026 listing) |
| Trainerize with Business, Stripe and Video add-ons | $70/month | $95/month | $124/month | $180/month |
Two points stand out. CoachAccountable becomes expensive for large group programs, because every active member counts as a client. Trainerize's low entry price rises quickly once you add the pieces most paid coaching needs, and if you also coach nutrition in depth, the Advanced Nutrition add-on adds $20 to $45 more. Neither price includes a website, email marketing or course hosting, which most coaches pay for separately.
Our full breakdowns live in Trainerize pricing in 2026 and the CoachAccountable review.
How do the features compare, section by section?
CoachAccountable leads on coaching admin and agreements; Trainerize leads on workouts, nutrition and mobile tracking. The sections below take each area in turn.

Session management and scheduling
CoachAccountable includes sessions and scheduling as part of its single feature set, so a coach on the $20 plan has the same tools as one on the $400 plan. Trainerize puts scheduling inside its $25 Business add-on below Studio Plus, and prospect booking appears in the Studio Plus feature list. If clients book calls with you, CoachAccountable includes it and Trainerize charges extra.
Programs, action plans and workouts
This is where the two diverge most. CoachAccountable is built around action plans, worksheets and metrics: you assign commitments, clients report on them, and you track numbers over time. Trainerize is built around training programs: custom programs, an AI Workout Builder on Grow and above, and custom exercise videos on Pro. A business coach would find Trainerize's workout tools irrelevant; a strength coach would find CoachAccountable's worksheets a poor substitute for a set-and-rep builder.
Habits and nutrition
Trainerize includes habit and lifestyle coaching even on its free plan, meal and macro tracking from Grow, and deeper nutrition coaching as an add-on. CoachAccountable can track habits through action plans and metrics, but it has no meal or macro tools. If nutrition is central to your coaching, Trainerize is the closer fit of the two; our list of Trainerize alternatives for nutrition coaches covers other options.
A scope note for anyone coaching health or fitness: coaching is not medical or dietetic treatment. Refer clients to a doctor or registered dietitian when they report chest pain, fainting, unexplained weight loss, signs of an eating disorder, pregnancy complications or a diagnosed condition that affects training or diet. CoachAccountable says it is not HIPAA compliant, Trainerize's pricing page lists no HIPAA coverage, and Coachful is not HIPAA-certified, so clinical records belong in a clinical system.
Payments and invoicing
CoachAccountable includes invoicing on every plan, and its September 2026 profile listed Stripe, Square and PayPal as processors. Trainerize takes in-app payments only through the $10 Stripe Integrated Payments add-on, and selling products sits in the $25 Business add-on. Neither vendor lists a platform transaction fee on its pricing page; processor fees apply in both cases.
Contracts and agreements
CoachAccountable includes agreements. Trainerize lists consultation forms on Pro but no contract or e-signature tool on its pricing page. Coaches who need signed agreements before the first session will have to add a separate e-signature tool to Trainerize.
Courses, content and community
CoachAccountable includes courses as part of its back office. Trainerize has no course builder; its closest features are challenges on Pro and premium content inside the Business add-on. Neither vendor lists a community feed with posts and events. Group video calls appear on Trainerize's Studio Plus tier.
Marketing: website, funnels and email
Neither tool builds your website, landing pages or email sequences. CoachAccountable's September 2026 profile notes no landing pages, website or marketing automation, and Trainerize's notes list no website, funnels or email marketing (Trainerize does include a Trainerize.me profile on Grow and welcome emails on Pro). Budget for a separate website builder and email tool with either.
Teams
CoachAccountable includes unlimited coaches and admins on every plan, which is unusual and genuinely useful for a small firm. Trainerize's multi-location studio features sit at Studio Plus, which starts at 500 members and requires contacting sales for higher tiers.
Data export and leaving
CoachAccountable lets you export each client's full coaching history from the Clients tab, supports bulk CSV import, and keeps previous clients' access to their records. Trainerize offers a client data export, but its September 2026 profile notes that messages, photos and attachments are not included. If you might switch later, CoachAccountable is easier to leave. Our guides on migrating from CoachAccountable and migrating from Trainerize walk through each move.

What is the client experience like in each?
Trainerize gives clients a phone app for logging workouts, meals and habits; CoachAccountable gives clients a web portal for action plans, worksheets and session history. That difference shapes how often clients engage between sessions.

Trainerize's mobile app is its core: clients follow programs, log sets, track meals and receive messages, and paid plans connect app and wearable data. Pro coaches can pay a one-time $169 setup for a custom branded app. Public reviews on Trustpilot average 3.1 from 100 reviews as of 25 October 2026, so read recent reviews on billing and support before committing.
CoachAccountable's September 2026 profile notes no native mobile app, so clients use the web portal, which works in a phone browser. Clients see their action plans, worksheets, session notes and metrics, and former clients keep lifetime access to their records. That suits reflective coaching, where clients log in a few times a week, more than daily habit tracking. Its 4.8 Trustpilot rating from 47 reviews suggests users are generally happy with it.

Which should you pick for which kind of coach?
Match the tool to your deliverable, then check that the price still works at the roster size you expect in a year.
- Life and mindset coaches: CoachAccountable over Trainerize. Action plans and worksheets fit reflective work. See Coachful for life coaches if you also want courses and a community.
- Business and executive coaches: CoachAccountable over Trainerize, especially in a firm, because seats for extra coaches are included. Our CoachAccountable alternatives for business coaches compares more options.
- Personal trainers: Trainerize over CoachAccountable. Workout programming, logging and wearables are the job. See also Trainerize vs TrueCoach and Everfit vs Trainerize.
- Health and nutrition coaches: Trainerize has meal tracking, CoachAccountable has better admin; neither covers both well. A platform with a nutrition pack plus booking and contracts fits better; see Coachful for health coaches.
- Group program coaches: neither is ideal. CoachAccountable charges per active member, and Trainerize lacks courses and a community space. See group coaching software.
Is there a third option that beats both? Coachful, honestly
Yes, for coaches who deliver programs and want one login for the whole client journey. Coachful combines what CoachAccountable does for coaching admin with program delivery, a fitness and nutrition pack, courses, community, a website, funnels and email in one membership. It does not beat Trainerize on wearable sync, and it does not beat CoachAccountable on PayPal support or a long track record.

What Coachful is and who it is for
Coachful is a coaching platform. One subscription covers booking, payments, contracts, program delivery with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant, with one login for the coach and one branded app for the client. It is built for coaches who deliver programs, not just sessions; solo coaches growing into a small team; and coaches replacing four to six tools. The company is based in Tallinn, Estonia, and holds a 4.5 Trustpilot rating from 21 reviews.
Where Coachful beats both
- Delivery between sessions. Multi-week programs with weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars and streaks. Clients see it all in one branded home.
- Fitness and coaching in one place. The Fitness & Nutrition pack adds a workout builder with illustrated exercises (supersets, circuits, AMRAP, EMOM, intervals, tempo), workout logging with set history and PRs, macro targets, meal plans, recipes, barcode scanning, private progress photos, weekly check-ins and private form-check video with timestamped coach comments. A coach who mixes mindset and training does not need two systems.
- Booking and payments without add-ons. Booking pages with buffers and time-zone detection, two-way Google, Apple and Outlook sync, auto-created Zoom, Meet or Teams links, and payments through your own Stripe or Razorpay account with subscriptions, payment plans and coupons. Coachful charges a 0% platform fee; you pay only processing.
- Contracts before the first call. Coaching agreements with e-signature, stored on the client record.
- Marketing included. A website builder with 30 homepage templates, booking and lead-magnet funnels, and email sequences with branching. Neither CoachAccountable nor Trainerize offers this.
- Total stack cost. Flat monthly plans instead of add-ons (current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients). Lower plans cap clients; Pro is unlimited.

Here is a short walkthrough of how programs are built and delivered in Coachful:

Where CoachAccountable or Trainerize is the better pick
- Wearables: Coachful has no Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop or Oura sync, and Apple Health sync is not publicly available. Trainerize lists app and wearable integrations from Grow.
- Stock exercise videos: Coachful's exercise library is illustrated; coaches attach their own demo videos.
- Your own App Store listing: Coachful's client app ships under the Coachful listing with your branding.
- PayPal or Square: Coachful has no PayPal. CoachAccountable listed PayPal and Square in September 2026.
- A no-cost tier: Trainerize's Basic plan covers one client at no charge; Coachful starts with a trial instead.
- Unlimited coach seats on a small plan: CoachAccountable includes unlimited coaches and admins on every tier; Coachful adds seats on its Studio and Agency team plans.
- Clinical work: Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and offers no BAA, so it is not for clinical records or insurance billing.
Coachful features that matter in this comparison

Scheduling covers availability rules, buffers, minimum notice, intake questions on booking, paid sessions and session credits, plus email reminders and SMS or WhatsApp reminders once messaging is enabled. For multi-coach session types, bookings can go round-robin or to the least-busy coach.

Payments include one-time charges, subscriptions, payment plans, order bumps, refunds, Apple Pay and Google Pay, Stripe Tax and an invoice per transaction, plus manual invoices.

Clients see their programs, sessions, progress and documents in one branded home, and cohort groups are created automatically when someone enrolls in a program.

Courses support modules, lessons, drip and completion tracking, and 48 course templates with quizzes sit alongside more than 40 ready-to-film program templates. See the course platform for coaches.

The website builder includes a blog, custom domain and SEO settings, with booking, application, lead-magnet and checkout funnels. More on the coach website builder.

For coaches working toward an ICF credential, Coachful counts coaching hours and distinct clients against ACC, PCC and MCC thresholds and exports a client coaching log with paid and pro bono hours (ICF hour tracking). Michelle, the built-in AI assistant, works from your live practice data to draft programs and emails, summarize recorded sessions and brief you before each call.
Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service
Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. From Create, choose "We'll build it for you", describe what you want and attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files such as logos, brand guides or copy. The Coachful team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours: a website, funnel, sales page, program, course outline, email sequence, intake form or automation. Nothing gets invented; gaps for credentials, testimonials and prices are left for you. It does not include recording videos, logo design or ad management. One recent example: a leadership coach with a Squarespace renewal days away got one clean homepage with a repeated "talk with me" button. Another: a business mentor for beauty professionals got a 12-week mentorship sales page, a free start-up guide funnel and rewritten follow-up emails. Read more about the free white-glove service.

How to start
Start a free trial, then request the white-glove build for whatever you want live first, usually your website or your main program. Clients, programs and content are imported for you during onboarding. Monthly plans cancel in one click, and a full ZIP export of your client data is available whenever you need it. Compare directly on Coachful vs CoachAccountable, or see the Fitness & Nutrition pack and coaching software overviews.
What is the verdict on CoachAccountable vs Trainerize?
CoachAccountable is the better coaching back office, and Trainerize is the better fitness training app. Pick CoachAccountable if you run 1:1 engagements built on action plans and want every feature and unlimited coach seats from $20 a month. Pick Trainerize if you program workouts and nutrition and your clients live in a phone app, and price the add-ons honestly before you commit. Pick Coachful if you deliver programs, want booking, payments, contracts, courses, community and marketing in one login, and would rather have the setup built for you.

Frequently asked questions
Is CoachAccountable or Trainerize cheaper?
At five clients, Trainerize Pro is cheaper on paper at $25 a month against CoachAccountable's $40, as listed in October 2026. Once you add Trainerize's Business, Stripe payments and Video Coaching add-ons, the same five clients cost about $70 a month. CoachAccountable has no add-ons, so its listed price is the full price.
Can a life coach use Trainerize?
Technically yes, since habit and lifestyle coaching is included on every plan. But Trainerize is built around workouts and nutrition, with no course builder, contracts or website. Most life coaches will find CoachAccountable or a coaching platform such as Coachful a closer fit.
Can a personal trainer use CoachAccountable?
You can track metrics and assign action plans, but CoachAccountable has no workout builder, exercise library or meal tracking. Trainers who program sets and reps will miss those tools. Coachful's Fitness & Nutrition pack covers workouts and nutrition alongside coaching admin.
Does either tool have a free plan?
Trainerize has a free Basic plan for one client and a 30-day trial with unlimited clients and no card. CoachAccountable has no free plan but offers a 30-day trial with no card and no limits. Coachful has no permanent free plan; it offers a free trial.
Which has a better mobile app for clients?
Trainerize, because its mobile app is the product and clients log workouts, meals and habits there. CoachAccountable's September 2026 profile notes no native mobile app, so clients use its web portal. Coachful gives clients a branded app inside the Coachful app.
Can I take payments in both?
CoachAccountable includes invoicing on every plan and listed Stripe, Square and PayPal in September 2026. Trainerize takes in-app payments through a $10 a month Stripe add-on. Coachful takes payments through your own Stripe or Razorpay account with a 0% platform fee, but it does not support PayPal.
Are CoachAccountable and Trainerize HIPAA compliant?
CoachAccountable states it is not HIPAA compliant, per its September 2026 profile, and Trainerize's pricing page lists no HIPAA coverage. Coachful is not HIPAA-certified either. If you keep clinical records or bill insurance, use a clinical system.
How hard is it to switch away from either?
CoachAccountable exports each client's full coaching history, which makes leaving easier. Trainerize's export, per its September 2026 profile, leaves out messages, photos and attachments, so save those manually first. Coachful imports clients, programs and content for you during onboarding.
What is Coachful's free white-glove service?
It is a build service included on every Coachful plan. You describe what you want, such as a website, funnel, program or email sequence, attach references and files, and the Coachful team builds it inside your account, usually within about 24 hours. It does not include video recording, logo design or ad management.
Should I use CoachAccountable and Trainerize together?
Some hybrid coaches do, running admin in CoachAccountable and training in Trainerize, but that means two logins for you and your clients plus two bills. You would still need a separate website and email tool. A single platform that covers coaching admin and fitness delivery usually costs less and is simpler for clients.
