Healthie Review 2026: Features, Pricing and Who It Suits

This Healthie review comes down to one question: do you need clinical records? Healthie is a capable, reasonably priced practice platform for dietitians, nutrition professionals and other health providers, with charting, telehealth, HIPAA coverage and optional insurance tools. If you are a licensed provider, it deserves a place on your shortlist. If you are a coach who sells programs and has no charting or insurance needs, you would pay for clinical depth you may not use, and you would still need separate tools to market what you sell.
We make Coachful, a coaching platform that competes with Healthie for some of the same buyers, so weigh our conclusions with that in mind. We have not run a hands-on test of Healthie. Everything below comes from what Healthie documents on its pricing page, as listed in October 2026, and from its public rating.
| Verdict at a glance | Short answer |
|---|---|
| Best suited to | Dietitians, nutritionists and health providers who chart, need a business associate agreement (BAA), and may bill insurance or prescribe |
| Skip it if | You coach without clinical records and want your website, funnels, email, courses and community in one place |
| Public rating | 4.0 on Trustpilot from 5 reviews, seen on October 29, 2026. That is too few reviews to carry much weight |
| Price | $19.99 to $149.99 a month on published plans, about 10% less on annual billing; Enterprise is quote only |
| Trial | 14 days of the Plus plan, no credit card required |

What is Healthie?
Healthie is cloud-based practice management and electronic health record (EHR) software for health and wellness providers. Its core is scheduling, charting, telehealth, a client portal, a mobile app and Stripe payments, with insurance and prescribing tools available as add-ons.
The language of the product tells you who it was built for. Plans are described as being "for clinicians". Its plan table is organized around an electronic health record, smart-fill charting, care plans, superbills and CMS 1500 forms. Healthie does list Health Coaching among its clinical focus areas, alongside Nutrition, Behavioral Health, Women's Health, Family Care, and Chronic Care and MSK, so coaches are a recognized audience. They are simply not the group the core product is shaped around.
Healthie also sells upward. Its navigation names private practices, group practices, digital health startups and enterprise, and it offers API access and custom integrations as paid add-ons. That is useful to know if you are a clinic with a technical team. It matters less if you are one person with 20 clients.
For the rest of this review we look at the five jobs a coaching or wellness business has to get done: marketing, selling, delivery, client experience and admin. In each one, we separate what Healthie documents from what its pricing page simply does not mention. An absent item is not proof the feature cannot be worked around, so ask Healthie before ruling anything out.
How does Healthie handle marketing?
Marketing is Healthie's thinnest area for a coach. Its plan comparison in October 2026 lists email branding templates (basic on the lower tier, advanced higher up), group and blast messaging, and webinars, but no website builder, sales funnels, landing pages, email sequences or social publishing.
That is a reasonable design choice for a clinical product. Many practices fill their calendars through referrals, insurance directories or an existing website. A coach usually has to find clients directly, so the absence costs more. You would keep paying for a site builder, an email tool and possibly a funnel tool next to Healthie, and you would connect them yourself.
Honest note: if your clients come from a clinic, physician referrals or a partner program, the gap may not matter at all. If your business runs on a lead magnet, a nurture sequence and a sales page, budget for those tools separately before comparing prices.
By comparison, Coachful includes a section-based website builder with a blog, custom domain and SEO settings, plus booking, application, lead-magnet and checkout funnels with pixels and UTM tracking. Email lists, broadcasts and multi-step sequences sit in the same account, and so does a social planner.

How does Healthie handle selling and payments?
Healthie handles billing well, with less emphasis on selling. Every plan lists payment processing and invoicing through an embedded Stripe connection, at 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction, with direct transfers to your bank account. Healthie says you do not need a separate Stripe account or login.
That setup is simple, and it is a real convenience for a provider who wants to charge a saved card after an appointment. Electronic forms and waivers are included too, which covers consent paperwork. For practices that take insurance, superbills and CMS 1500 forms are listed, and the ClaimMD add-on handles claims and eligibility checks.
What the pricing page does not list is the sales layer a coach often relies on: checkout pages, order bumps, coupons and payment plans. If your offer depends on installments or discount codes, ask how Healthie would handle them before you commit.
As a worked example of processing costs, a $300 package at the listed rate costs $9.00 in fees, leaving $291. No software removes card processing costs entirely, so count them on whichever tool you compare.
Coachful takes payments through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account, with one-time charges, subscriptions, payment plans, order bumps, coupons, refunds, Apple Pay and Google Pay. There is a 0% Coachful platform fee, so you pay only the processor's charges. Coaching agreements with e-signature go out before the first call and stay on the client record. More detail is on our coaching payment software page.

How does Healthie handle delivery?
Delivery is where Healthie is strongest, especially if your work looks like appointments plus clinical follow-up. It documents individual telehealth on every plan, group telehealth and webinars on higher tiers, HIPAA-compliant Zoom at no added cost, and automated online programs with fixed-start and rolling enrollment.
The charting side is deep compared with coaching tools: an electronic health record, a form builder, smart-fill charting, care plans and a document library. AI charting turns in-person, phone and Zoom sessions into structured chart notes and transcripts, as a paid add-on with no published price. Labs and supplements run through Fullscript and self-pay lab packages, and DoseSpot e-prescribing costs $40 per clinician per month.
Two honest notes for coaches. First, the plan cards place online programs on Plus, the $129.99 tier, so a coach whose offer is a program may need a far higher plan than their client count suggests. Second, the program tool sits inside a clinical product. Healthie's listing does not describe a course library, a community feed, or cohort spaces, so a group program may need other tools around it.
Coachful starts from the program. You build multi-week programs with weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, and progress bars. Courses have modules, drip and completion tracking, and enrolling in a program can automatically create a cohort group with its own chat. Booking pages connect two-way to Google, Apple and Outlook calendars, with built-in video or auto-created Zoom, Meet and Teams links.
Here is the program delivery flow inside Coachful:

What is the client experience like on Healthie?
Clients get a portal and the Healthie mobile app on iOS and Android, with secure messaging, food and lifestyle journaling, goals and metrics tracking, and access to forms and documents. For nutrition work, that journaling is a genuinely good fit, since a client can log food and the provider can review it between visits.
Branding options on the pricing page center on the provider dashboard, email templates and calendar color schemes. The page does not describe a client app under your own brand, so if that matters to you, ask what clients actually see. The experience fits a healthcare relationship, where a client expects a patient-style portal.
A coaching client often expects something closer to a program they belong to. In Coachful, clients get the coach's branding inside the Coachful app, with their programs, sessions, habits, goals, courses and community in one home. To be clear about the limit: the app ships under the Coachful listing, not your own App Store account.

Between-session work is where the two products differ most for coaches. Healthie's tracking is shaped around logging and review. Coachful's daily check-ins, streaks and habit tracking give the client something to do each day, and show you who has gone quiet, through status labels of thriving, active, quiet and at risk.

How does Healthie handle admin and compliance?
Compliance is Healthie's clearest advantage. It says it is HIPAA and SOC 2 compliant, its core features list HIPAA and PCI compliance, and the BAA takes effect automatically when the account is created. If you handle protected health information, this is the reason to choose it over a coaching tool.
Day-to-day admin is also well covered. Plans list reporting (advanced on higher tiers), unlimited document storage, email and SMS appointment reminders, and outbound fax from Essentials up, with a dedicated inbound line at $10 a month. The Group plan adds a shared calendar, roles and permissions, internal team chat, and a support account for each provider added. Support runs through chat and email, with one-to-one video support listed on a higher tier, and ongoing live classes and training are listed too.
Data portability is the one item we would pin down first. Healthie lists data transfer support from Essentials up, but we could not confirm from official documentation how a full client data export works when you leave. Ask for that in writing.
Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and does not offer a BAA, so it is the wrong place for clinical records or insurance billing. It is GDPR-ready, offers a full client data export as a ZIP (roster, notes, check-ins, goals, habits, sessions and form responses), and imports clients, programs and content for you during onboarding.

How does Healthie compare with Coachful, job by job?
The table below sums up the previous sections. Healthie wins clearly on clinical work, while Coachful covers more of what a coach does to find and keep clients.
| Tool | Marketing | Selling | Delivery | Client experience | Admin and compliance |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Website, funnels, email sequences, social planner, Instagram automations | Own Stripe or Razorpay, payment plans, order bumps, coupons, e-signed agreements | Programs, habits, check-ins, courses, community, booking, built-in video | Coach's branding in the Coachful app, one home for everything | Client record, AI assistant, data export; not HIPAA-certified, no insurance billing |
| Healthie | Email templates, blast messaging, webinars; no website or funnels listed | Embedded Stripe, invoicing, forms and waivers; superbills, CMS 1500s, ClaimMD add-on | Telehealth, charting, care plans, automated programs, labs, e-prescribing add-on | Portal and mobile app, messaging, food and lifestyle journaling | HIPAA, SOC 2, automatic BAA, roles, e-fax, reporting |
How much does Healthie cost?
Healthie's published plans run from $19.99 to $149.99 a month, or $18 to $135 a month billed annually, with client limits driving the tier. Plans as listed in October 2026 are below, with Coachful first for comparison.
| Tool and plan | Price | Clients or seats | Worth noting |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients | Lower plans cap clients, Pro is unlimited, team plans add seats | 0% platform fee; features are included in your membership |
| Healthie Core | $19.99/mo, or $18/mo billed annually | Up to 10 active clients | Scheduling, payments, charting, telehealth, portal, mobile app |
| Healthie Essentials | $49.99/mo, or $45/mo billed annually | Up to 250 active clients | Adds outbound fax, data transfer support and ClaimMD access (add-on fee) |
| Healthie Plus | $129.99/mo, or $115/mo billed annually | Unlimited clients | Adds group telehealth, online programs and dedicated eFax |
| Healthie Group | From $149.99/mo, or from $135/mo billed annually | 1 provider and 1 support seat, then $50/mo per extra provider | Adds shared calendar, roles and team chat |
| Healthie Enterprise | Quote only | By arrangement | For larger organizations |

Add-ons are where the bill can grow. Healthie's page says its plans do not require add-ons, credits or fees, which is fair for a basic practice. Optional items as listed:
- ClaimMD insurance claims, listed as starting at $30 a month in one place and at $25 a month plus a $50 to $100 setup fee in another.
- DoseSpot e-prescribing at $40 per clinician per month.
- AI charting, with additional fees and no published price.
- A dedicated inbound eFax line at $10 a month.
- API access and custom integrations, with additional fees.
Most coaches would not touch the first two. One caution: Healthie's plan cards and comparison table do not fully agree on which tier includes online programs and ClaimMD. If either affects your decision, confirm the answer with Healthie in writing.
What would Healthie cost at your client count?
The price depends less on your client count than on whether you need automated programs. These are illustrative scenarios built from the listed plans, showing the cheapest fit before card processing.
| Tool | 8 clients | 40 clients | 40 clients on automated programs | 300 clients |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients | Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients | Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients | Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients |
| Healthie, billed monthly | $19.99/mo (Core) | $49.99/mo (Essentials) | $129.99/mo (Plus) | $129.99/mo (Plus) |
| Healthie, billed annually | $18/mo (Core) | $45/mo (Essentials) | $115/mo (Plus) | $115/mo (Plus) |
The step from Essentials to Plus is the one to plan around. It adds $80 a month on monthly billing, or $960 a year, for a coach who moves up only to get online programs. On annual billing the gap is $70 a month, or $840 a year. Teams add up in a similar way: an example practice with three providers on monthly Group billing would pay $149.99 plus two extra providers at $50 each, or $249.99 a month.
Then add the rest of your stack. Healthie's listing leaves a website, funnels and email sequences to other tools, so total the bills for those before comparing against an all-in-one. Our comparison hub covers how Coachful stacks up against other platforms.

What do public reviewers praise and complain about?
There is not enough independent review evidence here to make firm claims in either direction. On Trustpilot, Healthie showed 4.0 from just 5 reviews on October 29, 2026. When we tried to read the review text, the Trustpilot and G2 pages would not load for us, so we have not summarized individual praise or complaints, and we will not guess at them.
Five reviews tell you very little. One unhappy or delighted customer moves that score a long way. For context, here is how the tools in this article compare on Trustpilot. The count matters as much as the score, and Coachful's own count is small too.
| Tool | Trustpilot score | Reviews | How much weight to give it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | 4.5 | 21 | Small sample, and we are the vendor, so check it yourself on our reviews page |
| Healthie | 4.0 | 5 | Too few reviews to draw conclusions |
| Practice Better | 3.8 | 87 | A modest sample, seen October 25, 2026 |
| SimplePractice | 2.6 | 1,616 | Large sample, seen October 29, 2026 |
Healthie does publish customer quotes on its pricing page. These were chosen by the vendor, so read them as what Healthie wants to be known for, not as independent reviews. The themes are consolidation and room to grow.
"Healthie solved all of our problems with one platform and one monthly fee. And a bonus was the Healthie app that’s available to our clients." Esther Schultz, MS, RD, Co-Founder, Pacific Nutrition Care Partners
"Healthie is one platform that has absolutely everything we need, is easy to use and fully customizable. We know that we can scale with no limits, and incredible customer service along the way." Marly Brodsky, CEO and Founder, Med Companion
Notice who is speaking: a dietitian-led practice and a healthcare company. That fits everything else in the listing. To fill the gap on complaints, use the free trial to test the likely friction points yourself:
- Run a client through the portal and mobile app on your own phone, from intake form to first message.
- Build one real program in the Plus trial, then check whether you can afford that tier long term.
- Ask support a real question by chat, and note how fast and how useful the answer is.
- Ask what happens to your client data if you leave, and how you would get it out.
What are Healthie's pros and cons?
Healthie's main strength is clinical depth at a fair entry price, and its main weakness for coaches is everything that happens before a client signs up. Here is each tool side by side.
| Tool | Pros | Cons |
|---|---|---|
| Coachful | One login for website, funnels, email, booking, payments, agreements, programs, courses and community; 0% platform fee; free white-glove build; built-in AI assistant | Not HIPAA-certified, no BAA, no insurance billing; no PayPal; client app ships under the Coachful listing; no Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop or Oura sync |
| Healthie | Automatic BAA, HIPAA and SOC 2; real charting and care plans; low entry price; food and lifestyle journaling; 14-day trial with no card; Stripe with no separate account | No listed website or funnels; online programs placed on the $129.99 tier by the plan cards; add-ons for claims and prescribing; plan cards and table disagree in places; data export not confirmed; very few public reviews |
Who is Healthie best for?
Healthie is best for licensed or credentialed health providers who chart, and for nutrition practices above all. It makes the most sense when at least one of the following is true of your practice:
- You handle protected health information and need a BAA from your software vendor.
- You bill insurance, or give clients superbills, and want those workflows in one system.
- You prescribe or order labs, and DoseSpot, Fullscript or eLabs would save you time.
- You run a dietitian practice where food journaling and charting are the daily work.
- You are a small clinic that needs shared calendars, roles and care teams at a published price.
- You are a digital health startup that wants API access and custom integrations.
It is a weaker fit for life, business, career and executive coaches, who gain little from an EHR. It can also be a poor fit for a non-clinical health coach, whose real needs are programs, habits, check-ins and a way to bring in clients. See our platform page for health coaches for how we approach that work.
Does a health coach actually need HIPAA software?
It depends on who you work with and how, so do not assume in either direction. Under guidance from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, HIPAA generally applies to covered entities, such as providers who conduct certain electronic insurance transactions, and to the business associates that handle protected health information for them. An independent coach paid directly by clients may fall outside that, while a coach working under a clinic or physician practice may well be inside it. Check with an attorney, since the answer turns on your specific arrangements and state law may add its own duties.
Scope matters as well. Coaching is not medical treatment or medical nutrition therapy. A coach supports goals, habits and accountability, and does not diagnose, treat or prescribe. Refer clients to a doctor, registered dietitian or mental health professional when you see signs of an eating disorder, unexplained symptoms, questions about medication or a diagnosed condition, or any mental health crisis.
Use this practical rule: if you need to keep clinical records, use a clinical system such as Healthie. If you do not, a coaching platform will probably fit your daily work better. Some practices with both clinicians and coaches will reasonably run both.
What are the best Healthie alternatives for coaches?
The best alternative depends on whether you are leaving for a coaching platform or staying clinical. We ranked these for coaches by four criteria: one login for the whole client journey, between-session delivery, total stack cost, and setup effort with the free white-glove build.
| Rank and tool | Best for | Starting price | HIPAA and clinical tools |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Coaches who deliver programs and want to replace 4 to 6 tools | Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients | Not HIPAA-certified; no clinical records |
| 2. SimplePractice | Therapists and health practitioners | $49/mo | Automatic BAA, clinical notes, claims, e-prescribing |
| 3. Practice Better | Nutrition and wellness practitioners | $0/mo for 3 clients, then $35/mo | Charting and telehealth; check BAA terms with the vendor |
1. Coachful
Coachful is a coaching platform where one subscription covers booking, payments, contracts, program delivery, courses, community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant called Michelle. It is built for coaches who deliver programs and not just sessions, including solo coaches growing into a small team and coaches replacing 4 to 6 tools. The client gets one branded home in the Coachful app, and the coach has one login. Plans start here: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients.
For wellness work there is also a Fitness & Nutrition pack, with a workout builder, nutrition targets up to calories and macros, meal plans, recipes, food lookup, barcode scanning, private progress photos and weekly check-ins. Michelle works from your live practice data, drafting programs and emails and briefing you before sessions. Questions and planning are included in your membership, while confirmed builds and changes use AI credits.

Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. On every plan, you can go to Create and choose "We'll build it for you", then describe what you need: a website, funnel, offer page, program, course outline, email sequence and more. Attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files, and the Coachful team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours. Nothing gets invented, so gaps in credentials, testimonials or prices are left for you to fill. It does not cover recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing. As one example, a menopause and midlife health coach starting from nothing got a five-page site in sage and cream, with every button leading to a free 20-minute consultation. Read more in our guide to the white-glove service.

What Coachful does not do: it is not HIPAA-certified, offers no BAA, and is not for clinical records or insurance billing. There is no PayPal and no permanent free plan, and your client app is not published under your own App Store account. It has no sync with Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop or Oura, and no stock exercise videos, so you attach your own demos. To start, take a free trial, then ask the team to build your first program or site. More on the wider category is on our coaching software page.
2. SimplePractice
SimplePractice is built for therapists and health practitioners, with clinical notes, insurance claims and e-prescribing, and a BAA that takes effect at signup. As listed in October 2026, it runs from $49 to $99 a month on monthly billing, and each additional practitioner on Plus costs up to $74 a month. Card payments are 3.15% + $0.30, and insurance claims are $0.39 each. There are no coaching programs, courses or community features. It is a sibling of Healthie more than an alternative for coaches, as our Healthie vs SimplePractice comparison explains.

Pick it over Coachful if you are a licensed therapist or practitioner who needs clinical notes and insurance claims.
3. Practice Better
Practice Better is the closest match to Healthie in spirit: scheduling, telehealth, charting, billing, programs and a client portal for wellness and nutrition practitioners. It has a $0 plan for 3 clients, then $35 a month for 10 clients and $69 a month for 300 clients, with annual discounts. Evergreen programs, portal branding, custom URLs and SMS start on the $99 Plus plan. An older profile listed no website builder or funnel pages. Our Practice Better review and Practice Better vs Healthie comparison go deeper.

Pick it over Coachful if you want practitioner-style charting and a low-cost plan for a very small client list.
Other coach-focused head-to-heads are worth a look if one of these tools is already on your list: Healthie vs Paperbell, CoachAccountable vs Healthie, Delenta vs Healthie, Healthie vs Satori, Healthie vs Simply Coach and Healthie vs Quenza.
How should you test Healthie before committing?
Use the 14-day Plus trial to test the plan you would actually pay for, because Plus includes features that lower tiers may not. Work through these in order:
- List your must-haves first. Write down whether you need a BAA, charting, insurance tools, online programs or group calls. Those answers set your tier more than client count does.
- Price the plan after the trial. If you rely on any Plus feature, assume $129.99 a month, or $115 billed annually, and compare with that.
- Enroll a test client. Sign up with a second email, complete an intake form, book a session, send a message and join a call from your phone.
- Build one program end to end. Use a real offer, and check how you handle fixed-start and rolling enrollment, plus what happens when a client falls behind.
- Add up the rest of your stack. Include the site, funnel and email tools you would keep paying for.
- Ask about leaving. Get a clear written answer on client data export before you import real records.
If you run the same exercise on Coachful, start with a free trial, and ask the team to import your clients, programs and content during onboarding. Then compare the two by how much you still have to pay for, and connect, outside the platform.
What is our final verdict on Healthie?
Healthie is a good product for the people it was built for. A dietitian or health provider who needs charting, a BAA and optional insurance tools gets a lot for the published price, especially on Core and Essentials. The trial is straightforward, the plans are public, and the compliance story is clear. Our cautions are the small number of public reviews, the plan-page inconsistencies and the unconfirmed export process.
For most coaches, we recommend Coachful. If you are not keeping clinical records, the question becomes how much of your business can live in one place, and that is where Healthie stops short: it leaves your website, funnels, email sequences, courses and community to other tools. Coachful includes them in your membership, and the free white-glove build lowers the setup effort. If you do keep clinical records, choose Healthie or another clinical system, because Coachful is not built for that.
Frequently asked questions
Is Healthie good for health coaches?
It can be, especially if you work with clinicians or handle protected health information. Healthie lists Health Coaching as a focus area, and its journaling, goals and client portal suit that work. Coaches who do not chart will use only part of what it offers, and they would still need other tools for a website, funnels and email sequences.
How much does Healthie cost per month?
As listed in October 2026, Core is $19.99, Essentials is $49.99, Plus is $129.99 and Group starts at $149.99 on monthly billing. Annual billing brings those to $18, $45, $115 and $135 a month. Enterprise is quote only, and add-ons such as ClaimMD and DoseSpot cost extra.
Does Healthie have a free plan or free trial?
Healthie has no free plan. It offers a 14-day trial of its Plus plan with no credit card required. Keep in mind that the trial shows Plus features, which may not all be on the lower tier you plan to buy.
Is Healthie HIPAA compliant?
Healthie says it is HIPAA and SOC 2 compliant, and its BAA takes effect automatically when the account is created. Compliance also depends on how you use the software and run your practice. Check with an attorney if you are unsure of your duties.
Does Healthie charge transaction fees?
Payments run through Stripe at a listed 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction. You do not need a separate Stripe account, according to Healthie. ClaimMD, if you bill insurance, is a separate monthly add-on.
Which Healthie plan includes online programs?
The plan cards list online programs on Plus, at $129.99 a month or $115 billed annually. Healthie's plan cards and comparison table do not fully agree on this, so confirm with Healthie before choosing a lower tier.
Can Healthie replace my website and email tools?
Its plan comparison does not list a website builder, funnels or email sequences. It does list email branding templates and, on some plans, group and blast messaging. Expect to keep a separate site and marketing tool unless Healthie tells you otherwise.
Is Coachful a good replacement for Healthie?
For a coach without clinical records, yes, and that is who we built it for. It is not a replacement if you need a BAA, charting, insurance billing or e-prescribing, because Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and does not do those things. A mixed practice could use a clinical system for records and a coaching platform for programs.
What is Coachful's white-glove build service?
It is a free service on every plan. You describe what you want, such as a website, funnel, program or email sequence, attach references, and the team builds it inside your account, usually within about 24 hours. It does not include video recording, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing.
Is Healthie worth it?
If you chart and need a BAA, the Core and Essentials prices are fair for what they list. If you are a non-clinical coach, you may be paying for tools you will not use while still buying others. Decide based on whether clinical records are part of your work.
