LearnWorlds vs Teachable for Coaches: 2026 Comparison

LearnWorlds vs Teachable for Coaches: 2026 Comparison

LearnWorlds vs Teachable comes down to one question: do you want a deep learning platform or a simple course store? LearnWorlds is the stronger course and training tool, with interactive video, SCORM, learning paths, a full website builder and white-labeling, and its entry plan is cheaper. Teachable is the simpler place to sell a handful of courses and digital products, with student mobile apps on every plan. For coaches, though, both share a gap: neither is built to run 1:1 or group coaching clients between sessions, which is why this comparison ends with a third option.

We make Coachful, a coaching platform, so read the last sections with that in mind. Everything we say about LearnWorlds and Teachable comes from their own pricing pages as listed in October 2026 and from what public reviewers report. We have not run either school for a paying audience, and we say so where it matters.

What is the short answer by use case?

Pick LearnWorlds if courses are the core of your business and you want them to feel like a polished academy; pick Teachable if you want the fastest route to selling a few products; pick neither if your income comes mostly from coaching clients. Here is how that plays out for common coaching setups.

  • You sell a signature self-paced course to hundreds of people. LearnWorlds. Interactive video, quizzes, certificates on Pro Trainer, learning paths and assessments make it the better learning experience.
  • You sell two or three small digital products and want minimal setup. Teachable. Its Starter plan includes student apps for iOS and Android and lists students as unlimited, though it charges a 7.5% transaction fee.
  • You train corporate teams or need SCORM packages. LearnWorlds. Teachable does not list SCORM on its pricing page.
  • You run 1:1 coaching, group programs or cohorts with weekly check-ins. Neither is a natural fit. You would add a booking tool, an e-signature tool and a way to track client habits. A coaching platform such as Coachful covers that in one login.
  • You want your own branded app. LearnWorlds sells a branded mobile app as a separately priced add-on; Teachable's pricing page lists iOS and Android student apps but not a branded-app option.

If you are early and still deciding what you even sell, our guide for new coaches is a better starting point than either course tool.

How do LearnWorlds and Teachable compare side by side?

LearnWorlds wins on course depth, site building and white-labeling; Teachable wins on simplicity and student apps included in every plan. The table adds Coachful as a third column so you can see where a coaching platform differs.

Thinking of launching your coaching business?

Answer a few questions and Coachful builds it around you: your website, programs, booking and payments. Ready in minutes.

Build your platform

We ranked on four criteria for coaches: one login for the whole client journey, delivery between sessions, total stack cost, and setup effort (including a free white-glove build).

On public reviews, LearnWorlds held a Trustpilot score of 4.8 from 423 reviews and Teachable 3.3 from 1,110 reviews when we checked in October 2026. Coachful sits at 4.5 from 21 reviews, a much smaller sample. Review scores mix support experiences, billing complaints and product praise, so treat them as a signal, not a verdict.

How does LearnWorlds pricing compare with Teachable pricing?

LearnWorlds is cheaper at the entry level and more expensive at the top self-serve tier; Teachable's middle plan is cheaper than LearnWorlds's middle plan but caps you at 10 products. Both discount annual billing: 20% on LearnWorlds and about 22% to 26% on Teachable.

What do the transaction fees cost in practice?

On entry plans, the fees matter more than the sticker price. Here is an illustrative example, not real sales data: a coach sells 20 enrollments of a $100 course in a month, $2,000 in total.

  • LearnWorlds Starter: $29 plan plus 20 x $5 = $100 in enrollment fees, so $129 before payment processing.
  • Teachable Starter: $39 plan plus 7.5% of $2,000 = $150, so $189 before payment processing.
  • LearnWorlds Pro Trainer or Teachable Builder: $99 or $89 flat, with no platform fee.

At that volume, both entry plans already cost more than the next tier up would in fees alone, so most coaches with steady sales end up on Pro Trainer or Builder. Payment processing sits on top in every case. LearnWorlds uses your own Stripe or PayPal account at their standard rates (2.9% + $0.30 for Stripe). Teachable Payments lists 2.9% + 30¢ for US cards and 3.9% + 30¢ for international cards, PayPal at 3.49% + 49¢ in the US, a $15 chargeback fee, and an optional BackOffice service at 2% to 2.8% of sales.

What about trials and refunds?

LearnWorlds offers a 30-day free trial with core features, and its pages say no credit card is required; the school is scheduled for deletion if you do not upgrade. Teachable's plan cards show a 7-day free trial plus a 30-day money-back guarantee, and a pop-up on its pricing page offered a 30-day trial on Builder monthly when we checked. Teachable does not state whether a card is required.

For deeper breakdowns, see our LearnWorlds pricing guide and Teachable pricing guide.

Which has the better course builder?

LearnWorlds has the deeper course builder; Teachable has the simpler one. If your course is the product people pay for, the difference is worth the learning curve.

LearnWorlds's Starter plan includes an AI course builder and quizzes. Pro Trainer adds unlimited courses, learning paths, certificates, bundles and interactive video. It also supports SCORM, the e-learning packaging standard that corporate learning systems use (Wikipedia explains SCORM here), with 20 packages on Pro Trainer and unlimited packages plus LTI 1.3 on Learning Center. Those last two matter if you sell training to companies that want to plug your content into their own systems.

Teachable keeps things lean. Every plan includes AI creation tools and up to 1TB of video. Product counts are the main constraint: 5 on Starter, 10 on Builder, 50 on Growth. Certificates only arrive on Growth at $189 a month, a notable difference if your clients expect a completion certificate. Growth also adds free subtitles and translations.

In short, LearnWorlds gives you more to configure, and Teachable gives you fewer decisions to make. Our LearnWorlds review and Teachable review go further into each.

How do the websites, funnels and email compare?

LearnWorlds includes a full website builder with page funnels and mass email; Teachable focuses on sales pages, checkout upsells and cart recovery. If you want one place for your whole public site, LearnWorlds is the stronger pick of the two.

LearnWorlds caps page funnels at 15 on Pro Trainer and removes the cap on Learning Center. Mass email is limited by plan: 2,000 a month on Pro Trainer, 5,000 on Learning Center, with extra emails sold as an add-on (price not shown). Learning Center also adds automations and scheduled reports.

Teachable's Starter plan lists upsells and cart recovery, and Builder adds an affiliate program. It handles global payments and taxes through Teachable Payments. For a coach who mainly drives traffic from social media or a separate website to a sales page, that may be enough.

Neither platform is primarily an email marketing tool. If you run multi-step nurture sequences with branching, check what each plan includes before you commit, or budget for a separate email platform.

What about community, live sessions and mobile apps?

LearnWorlds lists live 1:1 and group sessions from Starter and sells a branded mobile app as an add-on; Teachable includes student apps on every plan but does not list native scheduling. For coaches, this is where both start to feel like course tools first.

LearnWorlds's Starter plan lists live 1:1 and group sessions, which helps if you run occasional live calls inside a course. What it does not document is a coaching client record: goals, session notes, check-ins and payments per person. Its branded mobile app is a separate add-on, with the price not shown on the pricing page.

Teachable's iOS and Android student apps come with Starter, which is a real plus for learners on phones. In our September 2026 profile, Teachable had no native scheduling or calendar sync, so coaching calls relied on outside tools such as a booking app and Zoom. Our guide to delivering courses without Teachable covers what that patchwork looks like.

What is the client experience like on each?

On both platforms, your client is a student: they log in, watch lessons, take quizzes and maybe get a certificate. That is ideal for a course and thin for a coaching relationship.

Think through a typical 12-week coaching program. Before the first call, the client books a time, signs an agreement and pays. Each week they work on goals, build habits and check in. Between calls, you want to see who is slipping. On LearnWorlds or Teachable, the course part lives in the school, while booking, agreements, habit tracking and progress notes usually live in three or four other tools, each with its own login for the client.

LearnWorlds can make the learning part feel more premium, especially with white-label on Learning Center and a branded app add-on. Teachable gives students a clean, familiar app. Neither shows the client a daily view of their own goals, habits and next session in one place.

Which should you pick for which kind of coach?

Match the platform to where your revenue comes from. If most of it is courses, choose between LearnWorlds and Teachable; if most of it is clients, look at a coaching platform.

What is the third option for coaches?

The third option is a coaching platform that includes courses, rather than a course platform you bolt coaching onto. Coachful is our recommendation for coaches whose income comes from clients and programs, with courses as one part of the offer.

Which one looks like you?

Coachful builds your coaching website from a few answers, in a design chosen for your niche, with programs, booking and payments ready behind it.

Build your platform

What Coachful is and who it is for

Coachful is a coaching platform. One subscription covers booking, payments, coaching agreements, program delivery with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant. The coach has one login, and the client has one branded app. It is built for coaches who deliver programs, not just sessions, for solo coaches growing into a small team, and for coaches replacing four to six separate tools. The company is based in Tallinn, Estonia. Current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients.

Where Coachful beats both

  • Booking and calendar. Booking pages with availability rules, buffers, minimum notice and time-zone detection; two-way Google, Apple/iCloud and Outlook calendar sync; built-in video or auto-created Zoom, Meet or Teams links; email reminders, plus SMS and WhatsApp reminders once messaging is enabled; paid sessions and session credits.
  • Programs that run between sessions. Multi-week programs with weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars and streaks.
  • The client record. Goals, check-ins, habits, notes, intake answers, tags, payments and sessions in one place, with a status of thriving, active, quiet or at risk and an AI briefing per client.
  • Agreements and payments. Coaching agreements with e-signature sent before the first call; payments through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account, including subscriptions, payment plans, order bumps, coupons and Stripe Tax, with a 0% Coachful platform fee.
  • Courses too. Modules, lessons, drip and completion tracking, plus downloads, videos, books, events and bundles, delivered into the same branded client home and app. There are 48 course templates with quizzes and more than 40 ready-to-film program templates.
  • Community and groups. A community feed, group chat, direct messages and video events, with cohort groups created automatically when a client enrolls in a program.

Where Coachful does not beat LearnWorlds or Teachable

Be honest with yourself about which of these matter to you.

  • SCORM, LTI and corporate e-learning. LearnWorlds is the right tool if companies need to load your training into their own learning systems.
  • Interactive video and advanced assessments. LearnWorlds's interactive video goes further than a standard lesson player.
  • Thousands of self-paced students and no coaching. If you never meet your buyers, a course platform is the simpler choice.
  • PayPal. Coachful takes payments through Stripe or Razorpay only.
  • Your own App Store listing. Coachful's client app carries your branding inside the Coachful app, not under your own App Store account.
  • A course marketplace. Coachful is not one, and it has no third-party plugins.
  • Clinical work. Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and does not sign a BAA, so it is not for clinical records or insurance billing.

How to start

Start with a free trial, then use the free white-glove build so your site, program or course is set up for you. Clients, programs and content are imported for you during onboarding, and you can export full client data as a ZIP at any time.

Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. From Create, choose "We'll build it for you" and describe what you want: a website, funnel, sales page, program, course outline and written material, email sequence, form, lead quiz or something else. You can attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files such as logos, photos, brand guides and copy. The Coachful team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours, and nothing gets invented: no fake credentials, testimonials or prices, and gaps are left for you to fill. It does not include recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing. One recent example: a somatic coach leaving Kajabi had the homepage and About page rebuilt and the contact form connected. Another: a business mentor for beauty professionals got a 12-week mentorship sales page, a free start-up-guide funnel and rewritten follow-up emails. Read more about the white-glove service.

What does a full coaching stack cost on each?

The plan price is only part of the bill: on a course platform, a coach usually adds tools for booking, agreements and client tracking. Count every subscription before you compare.

Take an illustrative coach with 15 active clients in a 12-week program, a small self-paced course, and a group call each week. On LearnWorlds Pro Trainer ($99 a month, or $79 billed annually) or Teachable Builder ($89 a month, or $69 billed annually), the course and checkout are covered. You would still need a scheduling tool with calendar sync, an e-signature tool for coaching agreements, a video tool if the platform's live sessions do not suit you, and some way to track habits and check-ins, often a spreadsheet or a separate client app. Each has its own price, login and data silo.

On Coachful, the same coach pays one flat plan (Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients) that covers booking, agreements, payments, programs, the course and the group calls. There is no Coachful fee on sales, only Stripe or Razorpay processing.

How hard is it to switch later?

Switching course platforms is mostly about students and video files; switching coaching tools is mostly about client history. Check export options before you commit.

LearnWorlds's pricing pages do not document a data export, though it offers done-for-you migration on request when moving in. In our September 2026 profile, Teachable exported students and course and sales reports to CSV, but video content had to be downloaded manually, with no bulk course export. Coachful exports full client data as a ZIP (roster, notes, check-ins, goals, habits, sessions and form responses) and also exports courses.

A course builder on a monitor next to a habit tracker on a phone

Whichever platform you choose, keep your own copies of course videos and your client list, and ask about export before you sign an annual plan. Our LearnWorlds alternatives and Teachable alternatives for coaches roundups list other options if neither fits.

What is the final verdict on LearnWorlds vs Teachable?

For course creators, LearnWorlds is the stronger platform and Teachable is the simpler one. For coaches whose business is clients rather than courses, Coachful is the better fit than either.

Choose LearnWorlds if you want a full academy with interactive video, certificates from Pro Trainer, SCORM and a real website builder. Choose Teachable if you want to sell a few products quickly with student apps included and plan to move to Builder once sales cover the 7.5% fee. Choose Coachful if you book sessions, run programs with weekly goals and check-ins, and want your courses, community and payments in the same client app. See how it fits your niche on the life coaches, health coaches or business coaches pages, or compare the course side on our course platform for coaches page.

Frequently asked questions

Is LearnWorlds better than Teachable?

For building rich courses, yes: LearnWorlds offers interactive video, learning paths, SCORM and a fuller website builder. Teachable is easier to set up and includes student mobile apps on every plan. Which is better depends on whether you value depth or simplicity.

Which is cheaper, LearnWorlds or Teachable?

LearnWorlds Starter is cheaper at $29 a month versus $39 for Teachable Starter, as listed in October 2026. In the middle tier, Teachable Builder ($89) is cheaper than LearnWorlds Pro Trainer ($99). Entry-plan fees change the picture: LearnWorlds charges $5 per paid enrollment on Starter, and Teachable takes 7.5% on Starter.

Does LearnWorlds or Teachable charge transaction fees?

Only on their entry plans. LearnWorlds Starter charges $5 per paid enrollment, and Teachable Starter charges 7.5% of each sale. Higher plans on both drop the platform fee, but payment processing fees still apply.

Can I run coaching sessions on LearnWorlds or Teachable?

LearnWorlds lists live 1:1 and group sessions from its Starter plan. Teachable did not have native scheduling or calendar sync in our September 2026 profile, so coaches relied on outside booking and video tools. Neither documents a coaching client record with goals, habits and check-ins.

Which has a better mobile app?

Teachable includes iOS and Android student apps on every plan. LearnWorlds sells a branded mobile app as a separately priced add-on. Coachful's client app shows your branding inside the Coachful app.

Do LearnWorlds and Teachable offer free trials?

LearnWorlds offers a 30-day free trial, and its pages say no credit card is required. Teachable's plan cards show a 7-day free trial and a 30-day money-back guarantee, with a 30-day trial offered on Builder monthly in a pop-up when we checked.

Which platform supports PayPal?

Both do. LearnWorlds connects your own Stripe or PayPal account, and Teachable supports PayPal alongside Teachable Payments. Coachful does not support PayPal; it uses Stripe Connect or Razorpay.

When should a coach choose Coachful over both?

When most of your income comes from clients and programs rather than self-paced courses. Coachful puts booking, agreements, payments, habits, check-ins, courses and community under one login. If you need SCORM, interactive video or PayPal, LearnWorlds or Teachable is the better fit.

What is Coachful's white-glove service?

It is a free build service on every plan: you describe the website, funnel, program, course outline or email sequence you want, attach references and files, and the Coachful team builds it inside your account, usually within about 24 hours. It does not invent testimonials or credentials, and it does not cover video recording, logo design or ad management.

Can I move my Teachable or LearnWorlds courses to Coachful?

Yes. Clients, programs and content are imported for you during onboarding. Keep your own copies of course videos, since Teachable required manual video downloads in our September 2026 profile.
