LearnWorlds vs Thinkific for Coaches: 2026 Comparison

In the learnworlds vs thinkific decision, LearnWorlds is usually the better course builder for a coach on a budget: it starts lower, adds interactive video, SCORM and page funnels on its middle plan, and was rated far higher by public reviewers in October 2026. Thinkific is the better pick if you want a large student allowance, live cohorts and communities in one plan and do not mind paying more for it. Neither one was built to run 1:1 coaching clients between sessions, which is why this comparison ends with a third option.
We make Coachful, a coaching platform, so read the last sections with that in mind. Everything below about LearnWorlds and Thinkific comes from their own pricing pages as listed in October 2026 and from public review sites. We have not run a hands-on test of either product; where we describe how something works, it is what the vendor documents or what public reviewers report.
LearnWorlds vs Thinkific: which should a coach pick?
Pick LearnWorlds if courses are the product and you want advanced course tools for less money. Pick Thinkific if you want cohorts, communities and room for thousands of students on the entry plan. Pick a coaching platform if most of your income comes from 1:1 or group coaching rather than course sales.
Here is the short answer by use case:
- You sell a self-paced course and are just starting: LearnWorlds Starter is the cheapest way in, at $29 a month, but it charges $5 per paid enrollment. Once you pass about 14 paid enrollments a month, Pro Trainer at $99 costs less.
- You run cohort programs with a community: Thinkific Start ($109 a month) includes live cohorts with Zoom, one community with ten spaces and five live community events.
- You train corporate teams or need SCORM: LearnWorlds includes 20 SCORM packages on Pro Trainer and unlimited on Learning Center. Thinkific lists SCORM only on its custom-priced Plus plan.
- You want interactive video and quizzes inside the video: LearnWorlds, from Pro Trainer.
- You coach clients 1:1 with weekly goals, habits and check-ins: neither. Both are course platforms first. A coaching platform such as Coachful covers that work, and courses too.
If you only want the deep dive on one vendor, our LearnWorlds review and Thinkific review cover each product on its own.
How do LearnWorlds and Thinkific compare side by side?
LearnWorlds is a course and learning platform with a website builder, funnels, SCORM and interactive video. Thinkific is a course platform with communities, memberships and coaching or webinar products. Both sell courses well; neither manages coaching clients the way a coaching platform does.

How much do LearnWorlds and Thinkific cost?
LearnWorlds costs $29, $99 or $299 a month on its self-serve plans ($24, $79 or $249 a month billed annually). Thinkific costs $109, $219 or $499 a month ($82, $164 or $374 a month billed annually). Both have custom-priced top tiers and a 30-day free trial.
| Tool and plan | Monthly | Annual (per month) | Main limits | Fees on sales |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients | Flat monthly plans; lower plans cap clients, Pro is unlimited (Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients) | Client caps on lower plans; team plans add coach seats | 0% platform fee; processing through your own Stripe or Razorpay |
| LearnWorlds Starter | $29 | $24 | 1 admin, 1,000 active learners a month, 300 AI credits a month | $5 per paid enrollment plus gateway fees |
| LearnWorlds Pro Trainer | $99 | $79 | 5 admins, 2,000 active learners a month, 20 SCORM packages, 15 page funnels, 2,000 mass emails a month | No LearnWorlds fee; gateway fees only |
| LearnWorlds Learning Center | $299 | $249 | 25 admins, 2,000 active learners a month, 5,000 mass emails a month, full white-label | No LearnWorlds fee; gateway fees only |
| Thinkific Start | $109 | $82 | 10,000 current students, 2 admins, 1 community with 10 spaces, 200 GB a month video bandwidth | 0% with Thinkific Payments; extra gateway fee on Stripe or PayPal |
| Thinkific Grow | $219 | $164 | 6 admins, 3 communities with 20 spaces, 400 GB a month, Thinkific branding removed | Same as Start |
| Thinkific Expand | $499 | $374 | 15 admins, 10 communities with 200 spaces, 1,000 GB a month | Same as Start |
A few details change the real bill.
- LearnWorlds caps active learners per month. Starter allows 1,000 and the next two plans allow 2,000. Thinkific Start allows 10,000 current students. If you run a big free lead-magnet course, that gap matters.
- The LearnWorlds Starter enrollment fee adds up fast. As an example, 10 paid enrollments in a month add $50, bringing Starter to $79. At 14 enrollments the total reaches $99, the price of Pro Trainer, which has no enrollment fee and adds subscriptions, payment plans and certificates.
- Thinkific raised prices in August 2026. Start went from $99 to $109 and Grow from $199 to $219 on August 13, 2026, roughly a 10% rise. A new Expand plan appeared and the old Basic plan left the public pricing page.
- Branded mobile apps cost extra on both. Thinkific lists its branded app at $199 a month (included on select Plus contracts). LearnWorlds sells a branded app as an add-on but does not show the price.
- Annual billing saves 20% on LearnWorlds and 25% on Thinkific. LearnWorlds prices exclude VAT, which is added for EU customers without a VAT number.

A worked example for a coach selling one course and running a cohort program: on Thinkific Start with the branded app, the bill is $109 plus $199, or $308 a month, before processing fees. On LearnWorlds Pro Trainer it is $99 plus the unlisted app price. Either way, you would still need a scheduling tool, a contract tool and something to track client habits if you coach 1:1. Our LearnWorlds pricing breakdown and Thinkific pricing breakdown go plan by plan.

The Thinkific pricing page showed euros to our fetcher (Start at €107 monthly or €79 annually). The US dollar figures above come from Thinkific's official information page, confirmed October 2026.
Which is better for building courses?
LearnWorlds has the deeper course toolkit: an AI course builder, interactive video, SCORM, learning paths and certificates. Thinkific covers the essentials well (unlimited courses, quizzes, certificates, bundles and live cohorts) and saves exams, question banks and SCORM for higher plans.
On LearnWorlds, even Starter includes the AI course builder and AI quizzes, with 300 AI credits a month. Pro Trainer adds unlimited courses, learning paths, certificates, bundles and interactive video, where you can place questions or links inside a lesson video. Learning Center adds unlimited SCORM and LTI 1.3, which matter if you sell to companies whose training departments run their own learning management system. SCORM is the packaging standard that lets a course built in one system play and report progress in another.
On Thinkific, Start already includes unlimited courses, digital downloads, quizzes, certificates, bundles, upsells, payment plans, memberships and live cohorts with Zoom. Grow adds exams and question banks. Learning paths and SCORM sit on Plus, which is custom-priced, along with an AI teaching assistant and single sign-on.
For most coaches, the honest question is not which course builder has more features. It is whether your clients need a course at all, or a program where they do something every day and you see whether they did it. A coaching course tends to work best when lessons are tied to weekly actions and check-ins, not watched in a single sitting.

Coachful also includes a course builder with modules, lessons, drip release and completion tracking, plus 48 course templates with quizzes. It has no SCORM, interactive video or LTI, so a coach selling corporate e-learning will be better served by LearnWorlds. See our page on the online course platform for coaches for how courses sit inside programs.
Which handles coaching sessions and scheduling better?
Neither is a scheduling tool. LearnWorlds lists live 1:1 and group sessions from its Starter plan; Thinkific sells coaching and webinar products, and its older documentation points to an external booking link for 1:1 calls. If you book many sessions a week, plan on a separate scheduler with either one.
What LearnWorlds lists is the ability to run live 1:1 and group sessions inside the school. What its pricing page does not list is the coach-side machinery: availability rules, buffers, two-way calendar sync, reminders and session credits. Thinkific's coaching products let you sell a session as a product, but the scheduling itself has relied on tools such as an external calendar link, based on our older profile from September 2026.
That matters more than it sounds. Each tool you bolt on means a separate login for the client, a separate place to check for no-shows and a separate monthly bill. For a coach who runs 15 or more sessions a week, scheduling is the core of the business, not an add-on.

Coachful handles booking natively: booking pages with availability rules, buffers, minimum notice and time-zone detection, two-way Google, Apple/iCloud and Outlook calendar sync, built-in video or auto-created Zoom, Meet and Teams links, email reminders, plus SMS and WhatsApp reminders once messaging is enabled. Paid sessions, session credits and intake questions on booking are included in your Coachful membership. More on that on our scheduling software page.
How do communities and group programs compare?
Thinkific has the clearer community offer: Start includes one community with ten spaces and five live community events, and higher plans add more. LearnWorlds focuses on client groups and learning paths, with up to 10 client groups on Learning Center.
Thinkific also caps live cohort group size by plan: 50 on Start, 100 on Grow and unlimited on Expand. If you run a single cohort of 60 people, you would need Grow. Communities scale from 1 to 3 to 10, and spaces from 10 to 20 to 200.
LearnWorlds' pricing page talks less about community spaces and more about learner management: admins, client groups and active learners. Coaches who want an active discussion space next to their course will find Thinkific's offer more explicit, while coaches running B2B training groups will find LearnWorlds' client groups closer to what they need.

In Coachful, the community feed, group chat, direct messages and video events live in the same app as the client's program. When a client enrolls in a group program, a cohort group is created for them automatically, so there is no manual step of adding people to a space after they pay. Group calls and webinars sit in the same calendar as 1:1 sessions. Our group coaching software page covers the setup.
Which has better marketing tools: websites, funnels and email?
LearnWorlds lists more marketing tools on its plans: a website builder, page funnels (15 on Pro Trainer, unlimited on Learning Center), mass email allowances and affiliates. Thinkific's plan list centres on selling: bundles, upsells, payment plans, memberships, custom domains and, from Grow, B2B sales and invoicing.
A few specifics from the pricing pages:
- Email: LearnWorlds includes 2,000 mass emails a month on Pro Trainer and 5,000 on Learning Center, with extra emails sold as an add-on. Automations arrive on Learning Center. Thinkific Expand adds email white-labeling, so messages come from your brand rather than Thinkific.
- Affiliates: LearnWorlds has basic affiliates on Pro Trainer and advanced affiliates on Learning Center. Thinkific Expand lists revenue sharing with up to 10 partners.
- Branding: Thinkific removes its branding from Grow. LearnWorlds offers full white-label on Learning Center.
- Integrations: LearnWorlds lists 50+ integrations from Pro Trainer. Thinkific opens its API and webhooks on Grow, and HubSpot and Salesforce on Plus.
For a coach, the useful test is whether the website and funnel lead to a booked call or an application, not just a course checkout. Both platforms are built around the course checkout.

Coachful includes a section-based website builder with a blog, custom domain, SEO settings and 30 designed homepage templates, plus booking, application, lead-magnet and checkout funnels with pixels and UTM tracking. Email lists, broadcasts and multi-step sequences with triggers, delays, branching and A/B splits are included in your Coachful membership. See the coach website builder page for the templates.
What do payments and fees look like in practice?
LearnWorlds connects to your own Stripe and PayPal accounts and charges no platform fee from Pro Trainer up. Thinkific charges 0% when you use Thinkific Payments, at a processing rate it describes as in line with other processors at 2.9%, and adds a gateway fee if you connect Stripe or PayPal instead.
Typical card processing through Stripe or PayPal runs 2.9% plus $0.30 per charge on LearnWorlds. On a $500 coaching package, that is about $14.80 in processing. The difference shows up at the edges:
- LearnWorlds Starter adds $5 per paid enrollment, so a $500 sale costs about $19.80 in fees on that plan.
- Thinkific's extra gateway fee for Stripe or PayPal is not listed on its pricing page, so ask before you commit if you want to keep an existing Stripe account.
- Subscriptions, memberships and payment plans start on LearnWorlds Pro Trainer. On Thinkific, payment plans and memberships are on Start.
- Thinkific Grow adds B2B sales and invoicing; LearnWorlds does not list invoicing on its self-serve plans.

Coachful takes payments through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account with a 0% Coachful platform fee (since August 2026). It handles one-time payments, subscriptions, payment plans, order bumps, coupons, refunds, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Stripe Tax, with an invoice per transaction plus manual invoices. It does not support PayPal, which is a real reason to choose LearnWorlds or Thinkific if your clients insist on paying that way. Details are on the coaching payment software page.
What does the client experience look like on each?
On both platforms, the client experience is a student experience: log in, open a course, watch lessons, take quizzes, join a cohort or community. That works well for learning. It is thinner for coaching, where the client also needs to see their next session, this week's goals and whether they kept their habits.
On LearnWorlds, students use your school under your domain, with full white-label from Learning Center. On Thinkific, students see Thinkific branding until you reach Grow. Both offer a branded mobile app at extra cost, so on the entry plans your clients use the vendor's standard experience.
What neither documents for 1:1 coaching is a per-client plan: a private program with daily tasks, habits, check-in questions and a progress view the coach watches. Both vendors' pages describe courses, cohorts and communities, not individual client records with goals and notes.

In Coachful, the client gets one branded home and app (your branding inside the Coachful app) showing their next session, programs, progress and documents. They complete morning and evening check-ins, tick off habits and see goals with progress bars and streaks. The coach sees each client's status as thriving, active, quiet or at risk, so a client who drops off gets a message before they cancel.

What do public reviewers say about support and reliability?
Public reviewers rate LearnWorlds far higher than Thinkific. As listed in October 2026, LearnWorlds holds 4.8 on Trustpilot from 423 reviews, while Thinkific holds 1.8 from 868 reviews.
Ratings on any review site skew towards people with a strong opinion, so treat them as a signal, not a verdict. Still, the gap is wide and consistent. Thinkific's score has also moved down slightly since our September 2026 profile, from 1.9 to 1.8.
On support, the pricing pages show what you pay for:
- LearnWorlds Learning Center includes 2 hours of setup help; Corporate adds a success manager, 24/7 phone support, a 99.95% uptime commitment and daily backups. Done-for-you migration is available on request.
- Thinkific Grow adds phone and priority chat support; Expand adds dedicated launch support.
On data export, Thinkific lets you export students and your email list to CSV, while course content is downloaded manually (from our older profile). LearnWorlds did not document data export on the pages we checked, so ask before you upload years of content.
Which should you pick for which kind of coach?
Match the tool to how you earn. Course revenue points to LearnWorlds or Thinkific; coaching revenue points to a coaching platform.
| Tool | Best fit | Pick something else if |
|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Life, health, business and fitness coaches who sell programs and 1:1 or group coaching, and want booking, payments, contracts, programs, courses, community and website under one login | You sell courses to thousands of learners, need SCORM or interactive video, or must accept PayPal |
| LearnWorlds | Coaches who sell courses as the main product, trainers selling to companies, anyone who needs SCORM, interactive video or LTI on a moderate budget | Your clients need booking, habits, check-ins and per-client plans |
| Thinkific | Coaches running cohort programs with a community and a large audience on the entry plan | You want the lowest entry price, SCORM below enterprise pricing, or highly rated support |
Some quick scenarios:
- A career coach launching a $199 self-paced course to 30 buyers a month: LearnWorlds Pro Trainer. Starter's enrollment fee would add $150 a month at that volume.
- A leadership coach selling a program to HR departments: LearnWorlds Learning Center for SCORM and client groups, or a coaching platform if the deliverable is coaching rather than e-learning. See tools for executive coaches.
- A mindset coach running quarterly cohorts of 40 people with a community: Thinkific Start covers the cohort and community; Coachful covers it plus the 1:1 follow-up.
- A health coach with 20 private clients on 12-week programs: a coaching platform. Neither course tool tracks daily habits or check-ins. See tools for health coaches.
The third option: when does Coachful beat both, and when does it not?
Coachful beats both when coaching, not course sales, pays your bills. It loses to both when you need course-platform depth: SCORM, interactive video, PayPal or a course aimed at thousands of anonymous learners.

Coachful is a coaching platform. One subscription covers booking, payments, contracts, program delivery with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant, with one login for the coach and one branded app for the client. It is built for coaches who deliver programs, not just sessions, for solo coaches growing into a small team, and for coaches replacing four to six tools. It is not a course marketplace, not HIPAA-certified, has no PayPal and no permanent free plan. To start, take a free trial and request the free white-glove build, and the team builds what you describe inside your account.
Where Coachful beats LearnWorlds and Thinkific:
- Programs that run between sessions. Multi-week programs with weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars and streaks.
- One client record. Goals, check-ins, habits, notes, intake answers, tags, payments, sessions and an AI briefing per client, with a status of thriving, active, quiet or at risk.
- Native booking and agreements. Booking pages with calendar sync, plus coaching agreements with e-signature sent before the first call and stored on the client record. See coaching contracts.
- Michelle, the built-in AI assistant. It works from your live practice data: builds programs, drafts emails and content, summarizes recorded sessions and briefs you before sessions. Questions and planning are included in the membership; confirmed builds and changes use AI credits. See the AI coaching assistant page.
- ICF credential tracking. Coaching hours and distinct clients counted against ACC, PCC and MCC thresholds, with an ICF client coaching log export. See ICF hour tracking.
- No per-enrollment or platform fee. 0% Coachful platform fee; only Stripe or Razorpay processing.

Here is a short walkthrough of how programs are built and delivered in Coachful:
Where LearnWorlds or Thinkific is the better choice:
- You need SCORM, LTI 1.3 or interactive video for corporate training. Pick LearnWorlds.
- Your clients pay by PayPal. Both support it; Coachful does not.
- You want your own app in the App Store under your developer account. The Coachful client app ships under the Coachful listing with your branding.
- You sell mainly to a large audience of self-paced learners and rarely speak to them. A course platform fits that model.
- You need HubSpot or Salesforce integration. Thinkific Plus offers it; Coachful does not.
Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. From Create, choose "We'll build it for you · FREE", describe what you want (a website, funnel, sales page, program, course outline, email sequence, form or something else), attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files, and the Coachful team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours. Nothing is invented: no fake credentials, testimonials or prices, and any gaps are left for you to fill. It does not include recording videos, logo design or ad management. As an example of recent builds, a somatic coach leaving Kajabi had the homepage and About page rebuilt and the contact form connected, and a business mentor for beauty professionals got a 12-week mentorship sales page, a start-up-guide funnel and rewritten follow-up emails. Read more about the free white-glove service.

For a coach with 15 clients, the comparison is one plan (Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients) against a course platform plus a scheduler, a contract tool and a habit tracker. Add up your current stack before you decide.
How do you switch from Thinkific or LearnWorlds without losing students?
Export your student and email lists first, download your course content, then rebuild and invite students in batches. Keep the old account running until everyone has logged in to the new one.
- Export people. Thinkific exports students and your email list to CSV. On LearnWorlds, ask support what export covers before you start, since the pages we checked did not document it.
- Download content. Course videos and files usually need to be downloaded manually.
- Rebuild. On Coachful, clients, programs and content are imported for you during onboarding, and the white-glove build can set up the website and funnels.
- Move payments last. Recreate subscriptions in your own Stripe account and cancel the old ones only after the new ones are live.
- Tell students early. Send two or three emails explaining what changes, what stays the same and how to log in.
Our guide on how to migrate from Thinkific covers each step, and the Thinkific alternative page shows what moves across. If you are still comparing more tools, see the LearnWorlds alternatives, the Thinkific alternatives for coaches, Kajabi vs Thinkific and Thinkific vs Teachable.
