Systeme io vs Teachable (2026): Which Fits Coaches?

Systeme io vs Teachable (2026): Which Fits Coaches?

If you are weighing systeme io vs teachable as a coach, the short answer is this: Systeme.io is the cheaper all-in-one marketing suite (funnels, email, a basic course area, a blog and an affiliate program, with a free plan that never expires), while Teachable is the more polished course storefront, with student mobile apps and a stronger checkout for selling courses and digital products. Neither one was built to run coaching clients: neither documents 1:1 scheduling tied to client records, habits or daily check-ins. If your business is mostly selling courses, pick between the two on that basis. If your business is mostly coaching people through programs, read the third-option section before you commit to either.

We make Coachful, a coaching platform, so we have a stake in this comparison. We have kept the Systeme.io and Teachable facts to what each vendor lists on its pricing page in October 2026 and what public reviewers report, and we say plainly where each one wins. We have not run hands-on tests of either tool; where a detail comes from our September 2026 profile of a vendor rather than its live pricing page, we say so.

What is the short answer by use case?

Pick by what you mostly sell. Funnels and email to a free list point to Systeme.io; polished courses sold to students point to Teachable; ongoing coaching programs with sessions, habits and check-ins point to a coaching platform such as Coachful.

  • You are starting with almost no budget and want to build a list: Systeme.io. The Free plan covers 2,000 contacts, 3 funnels, 1 course and unlimited emails with no credit card, which is hard to beat for a first lead magnet.
  • Your main product is a self-paced video course: Teachable. It is built around course products, lists iOS and Android student apps on every plan, and handles global payments and taxes.
  • You run webinars to sell a program: Systeme.io's Webinar plan ($47/month) adds evergreen webinars, which Teachable's plan list does not mention.
  • You want to keep every sale without a platform cut on a small budget: Systeme.io charges 0% transaction fees on every plan, including Free. Teachable's Starter plan takes 7.5%.
  • You coach clients 1:1 or in cohorts and sell sessions, packages or multi-week programs: neither is a natural fit. A coaching platform puts booking, payments, contracts, programs, habits, check-ins, courses and community behind one login. Coachful is our recommendation here, and the reasons are below.

How do Systeme.io and Teachable compare side by side?

Systeme.io is wider (funnels, email, blog, affiliates, webinars), Teachable is deeper on courses and student apps, and neither covers the coaching side of the client journey. The table ranks on one line of criteria that matter to coaches: one login for the whole client journey, between-session delivery, total stack cost, and setup effort.

Systeme.io's Trustpilot score is strong and comes from a large sample. Teachable's 3.3 sits noticeably lower, so read its recent reviews yourself before deciding. Coachful's 4.5 comes from a much smaller sample of 21 reviews, which is worth keeping in mind.

What is Systeme.io, and who is it for?

Systeme.io is a low-cost all-in-one marketing suite: sales funnels, email marketing, a course area, a community, a blog and an affiliate program, with a generous free plan. It suits coaches who mainly need to capture leads and sell through funnels and email.

Systeme.io homepage with its all-in-one marketing headline and sign-up button
Systeme.io's homepage in October 2026.

Its appeal is price and simplicity. The Free plan never expires and lists 2,000 contacts, 3 funnels, 1 course with up to 500 students, 1 blog, 1 affiliate program, 1 custom domain, 1 automation rule and 1 email campaign, with unlimited emails. Paid plans raise those caps rather than add a different product. There is no platform fee on sales on any plan; you pay only Stripe or PayPal processing.

The limits for coaches sit elsewhere. Our September 2026 profile noted no native 1:1 scheduling connected to client records, habits or check-ins, community and course features that are basic, and no branded mobile app. Contacts export to CSV through an emailed link valid for three days; courses and pages are not bulk-exportable. For a full rundown, see our Systeme.io review and our breakdown of Systeme.io pricing.

What is Teachable, and who is it for?

Teachable is a course and digital-product platform. It suits coaches whose main income comes from self-paced courses and downloadable products sold to students, rather than from working with clients over time.

Teachable homepage presenting its course and digital product platform
Teachable's homepage in October 2026.

Its strengths are product-focused. Every self-serve plan lists students as "Unlimited", up to 1TB of video on Starter, AI creation tools, iOS and Android student apps, global payments and taxes, upsells and cart recovery. Builder adds an affiliate program and real-time support; Growth adds certificates, removal of Teachable branding, imported students, custom admin permissions and free subtitles and translations.

For coaching, the gaps are similar to Systeme.io's. Our September 2026 profile found no native scheduling or calendar sync (coaching calls relied on tools like Calendly and Zoom), and Teachable does not offer client habits, daily check-ins or per-client plans. Students and sales reports export to CSV; video content is downloaded manually, with no bulk course export. Our Teachable review goes further.

How does pricing compare between Systeme.io and Teachable?

Systeme.io is cheaper at every comparable tier, has a free plan and charges no platform fee. Teachable starts at $39/month ($29/month billed annually) and takes 7.5% of sales on that entry plan.

Systeme.io pricing page showing Free, Startup, Webinar and Unlimited plans
Systeme.io's pricing page in October 2026.

A few details from the pricing pages as listed in October 2026 are worth knowing. Systeme.io shows "$" without naming the currency, and annual billing is described as "2 months free" without printed yearly totals (an older profile showed $170, $470 and $970 per year). Every Systeme.io plan carries "No credit card required" under its sign-up button.

Teachable pricing page showing Starter, Builder, Growth and Custom plans
Teachable's pricing page in October 2026.

Teachable shows annual savings of $120, $240 and $600 per year on its three self-serve plans. Plan cards list a 7-day free trial plus a 30-day money-back guarantee, and a pop-up offers a 30-day trial on Builder monthly; the card requirement is not stated. Teachable Payments processing is listed at 2.9% + 30¢ for US cards and 3.9% + 30¢ for international cards; PayPal costs 3.49% + 49¢ in the US and 4.99% + 49¢ internationally; there is a $15 chargeback fee and an optional BackOffice service at 2 to 2.8% of sales.

Here is an illustrative example of how the Starter fee adds up. A coach who sells $2,000 of courses in a month on Teachable Starter pays $39 for the plan plus $150 in platform fees (7.5%), before card processing, so $189 in total. At that sales level, Builder at $89 with a 0% platform fee costs less. On Systeme.io, the same $2,000 in sales costs nothing in platform fees on any plan. For more detail, see our Teachable pricing guide.

Which is better for building and selling courses?

Teachable is the stronger course platform; Systeme.io's course area is simpler and capped by plan. If courses are your main product and you care about the student experience, Teachable has the edge.

Teachable lists student apps for iOS and Android even on Starter, AI creation tools, up to 1TB of video, upsells and cart recovery. Growth adds certificates and free subtitles and translations, which matters if you sell to an international audience. The trade-off is product caps: 5 products on Starter, 10 on Builder, 50 on Growth.

Systeme.io caps courses rather than products: 1 course on Free, 5 on Startup, 20 on Webinar and unlimited on the top plan. Our September 2026 profile described its course and community features as basic and noted there is no branded mobile app. For a coach whose course is a lead magnet or a low-ticket entry offer, basic can be enough.

Coachful handles courses differently: they sit inside the same client home as the coaching program. You build modules and lessons with drip and completion tracking, add downloads, videos, books and AI tools, and bundle them with sessions. There are 48 course templates with quizzes to start from. Courses are included in your Coachful membership, and our page on the online course platform for coaches shows how it works. Coachful is not a course marketplace, though, so it will not send you new students the way a marketplace could.

Which is better for funnels, email and marketing?

Systeme.io wins on marketing. Funnels, email campaigns, automation rules, a blog, evergreen webinars and an affiliate program are its core, and they start on the free plan.

Teachable's pricing page focuses on selling: upsells, cart recovery and, from Builder, an affiliate program. It does not position itself as a funnel builder or a full email marketing tool, so a coach who relies on nurture emails may need a separate email platform alongside it. If you need landing pages, a lead magnet and a nurture sequence before anyone buys, Systeme.io covers more of that on its own. Our Systeme.io vs Kajabi comparison covers how it stacks up against a pricier marketing suite.

Coachful includes booking, application, lead-magnet and checkout funnels with pixels and UTM tracking, about 25 funnel templates, email lists, broadcasts and multi-step sequences with triggers, delays, branching and A/B splits. It also has a social planner that publishes to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Threads and YouTube, and Instagram automations that reply to a keyword comment with a booking link or lead magnet in a DM. Those leads land in the same records as your clients, which is the part neither Systeme.io nor Teachable connects to coaching delivery.

Can either tool handle booking, payments and contracts for coaching?

Only partly. Both sell products well, but neither documents 1:1 booking tied to client records, and neither lists coaching agreements with e-signature on its pricing page.

On payments, Systeme.io supports Stripe and PayPal with no platform fee. Teachable uses Teachable Payments, PayPal and a monthly payment gateway. Both can sell one-off products and subscriptions. What is missing for coaching is the step between the sale and the work: a booking page with availability rules and buffers, calendar sync, reminders, session credits and a signed agreement before the first call. With either tool, coaches usually add a separate scheduler and an e-signature tool, each with its own subscription and login.

Coachful covers that step in one place. Booking pages handle availability rules, buffers, minimum notice and time-zone detection, with two-way Google, Apple/iCloud and Outlook sync, built-in video or auto-created Zoom, Meet and Teams links, and email reminders (plus SMS and WhatsApp reminders once messaging is enabled). Payments run through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account, with subscriptions, payment plans, order bumps, coupons, Apple Pay and Google Pay, and Stripe Tax. Coaching agreements with e-signature go out before the first call and are stored on the client record. Coachful does not support PayPal, so if your buyers rely on PayPal, that counts in Systeme.io's and Teachable's favour. See scheduling software and coaching contracts for details.

Here is a short walkthrough of how scheduling works inside Coachful:

Which one looks like you?

Coachful builds your coaching website from a few answers, in a design chosen for your niche, with programs, booking and payments ready behind it.

Build your platform

What does the client experience look like on each?

On Systeme.io and Teachable, a client is a student or a contact: they log in to watch lessons or read emails. On a coaching platform, a client is a person you are guiding, with sessions, goals, habits and check-ins in one place.

Teachable gives students a clean course player and mobile apps, which is a real plus for course buyers. Systeme.io gives them a course area and community, without a branded app as of our September 2026 profile. In both cases, the experience ends where the course ends. If your client books a call, signs an agreement, logs a habit or answers a weekly check-in, those happen in other tools, under other logins.

In Coachful, the client opens one branded home and app (your branding inside the Coachful app) and finds the next session, the program for this week, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars, courses and the community. Between sessions, that is where the work happens, and you see it on the client record: goals, check-ins, habits, notes, intake answers, payments, sessions and a status of thriving, active, quiet or at risk.

Community works the same way. Systeme.io includes a community; Teachable focuses on courses. Coachful adds a community feed, group chat, direct messages and video events, and creates cohort groups automatically when someone enrolls in a program.

Coachful's client community feed with a demo live Q&A and coach posts.

How easy is it to leave each platform?

Both let you export contacts or students to CSV, but neither offers a bulk course export, so moving courses means rebuilding them by hand.

Systeme.io exports contacts to CSV through an emailed link valid for three days; courses and pages are not bulk-exportable (September 2026 profile). Teachable exports students and course and sales reports to CSV; video content is downloaded manually (September 2026 profile). If you are already on Teachable and thinking of moving, our guide on how to migrate from Teachable walks through it step by step.

Coachful offers a full client data export as a ZIP (roster, notes, check-ins, goals, habits, sessions and form responses) and a course export. Coming in, your clients, programs and content are imported for you during onboarding.

Which should you pick for which kind of coach?

Match the tool to the shape of your income. The table below gives our pick for common coaching businesses.

ToolBest forWeak spot for coachesPick it if
Coachful1:1 and group coaches running multi-week programs, plus courses and communityNo PayPal, no course marketplace, no permanent free planYour clients need sessions, habits, check-ins and content in one place
Systeme.ioNew coaches building a list with funnels, email and a lead magnetNo client records, habits or check-ins; basic coursesYou need marketing first and a free plan matters
TeachableCoaches whose main product is a self-paced courseNo native scheduling or per-client plans; 7.5% fee on StarterYou sell courses at volume and want student apps
  • A new life coach with no list yet: Systeme.io's free plan is a cheap way to test a lead magnet. Once you have paying clients, the missing booking and client tools start to cost time. Our page for new coaches shows the Coachful route.
  • A business coach selling a signature course to thousands: Teachable is a sensible pick, especially on Builder or Growth where the 7.5% fee disappears.
  • A health or fitness coach running 12-week programs: neither fits well. Coachful's Fitness & Nutrition pack adds a workout builder, nutrition targets, meal plans, progress photos and form-check video. Coaching is not medical care; refer clients with symptoms or conditions to a doctor, and keep clinical records out of Coachful, which is not HIPAA-certified.
  • A coach growing into a small team: Teachable Growth allows 5 admins; Coachful's team plans add coach seats with per-coach availability and staff permissions, and round-robin booking across coaches. See coaching software for teams.

The third option: when does Coachful beat both, and when does it not?

Coachful beats both when your business is coaching people rather than selling content to them. It does not beat them if you mainly need a free funnel tool or a course storefront for a large student audience.

What Coachful is. Coachful is a coaching platform. One subscription covers booking, payments, contracts, program delivery with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant, with one login for the coach and one branded app for the client. It is built for coaches who deliver programs, not just sessions; solo coaches growing into a small team; and coaches replacing four to six tools. The company is based in Tallinn, Estonia.

Where it beats Systeme.io and Teachable for coaches:

  • One login for the whole client journey: from the funnel and booking page to the signed agreement, payment, program, habits, check-ins and course, everything sits on one client record.
  • Between-session delivery: multi-week programs with weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins and streaks. Neither Systeme.io nor Teachable offers per-client habits or check-ins.
  • Coaching-specific tools: ICF credential tracking that counts hours and clients against ACC, PCC and MCC thresholds and exports a client coaching log (see ICF hour tracking), and more than 40 ready-to-film program templates.
  • Michelle, the built-in AI assistant: she works from your live practice data to build programs, draft emails, summarize recorded sessions and brief you before each session. Questions and planning are included in your Coachful membership; confirmed builds and changes use AI credits. An optional AI Coach lets selected clients chat with an AI version of you between sessions. See the AI coaching assistant page.
  • Total stack cost: booking, contracts, payments with a 0% Coachful platform fee, website, funnels, email, courses and community sit in one flat plan instead of a marketing tool plus a scheduler plus an e-signature tool. Current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients. For a practice with 15 active clients, the cheapest fitting plan is Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients.

Where Coachful does not beat them:

  • No permanent free plan. Systeme.io's free plan is a better way to experiment at zero cost.
  • No PayPal. Both Systeme.io and Teachable support PayPal.
  • Not a course marketplace, and not a general website builder for non-coaching sites; no third-party plugins.
  • The client app ships under the Coachful listing with your branding, not under your own App Store account.
  • Not HIPAA-certified, with no BAA, so it is not for clinical record-keeping or insurance billing.
  • No Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop or Oura sync, and no stock exercise videos (coaches attach their own demos).
  • The affiliate program tracks links, clicks, conversions and revenue, but payouts are recorded manually rather than sent by Coachful. Systeme.io's affiliate program is a stronger fit if affiliates drive your sales.

Here is how a program comes together in Coachful:

Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. On every plan, you can ask the Coachful team to build what you need inside your own account. From Create > We'll build it for you, you describe a website, funnel, sales page, program, course outline, email sequence, form, link in bio, lead quiz, webinar or automation, and attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files such as logos, photos, brand guides and copy. The team usually delivers within about 24 hours. Nothing is invented: no fake credentials, testimonials or prices, and gaps are left for you to fill. It does not include recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing. A somatic coach leaving Kajabi, for example, had the homepage and About page rebuilt and the contact form connected; a business mentor for beauty professionals got a 12-week mentorship sales page, a free start-up-guide funnel and rewritten follow-up emails. Read more about the free white-glove service.

What is our verdict on Systeme.io vs Teachable?

Between the two, choose Systeme.io for marketing on a tight budget and Teachable for selling courses at scale. Choose Coachful if coaching clients is the core of your business.

Systeme.io gives more for less: a free plan, 0% platform fees on every tier, funnels, email, webinars and affiliates. Teachable gives a better course product: student apps, certificates, translations and a checkout built for digital products, at a higher price and with a 7.5% fee on Starter. Both leave coaches assembling separate tools for booking, contracts and between-session support. If that assembly is the problem you are trying to solve, a coaching platform is the more direct answer. You can see more head-to-heads on our comparison hub, including Kajabi vs Teachable.

Frequently asked questions

Is Systeme.io cheaper than Teachable?

Yes. As listed in October 2026, Systeme.io has a free plan and paid plans at $17, $47 and $97 per month, with 0% platform fees. Teachable starts at $39 per month ($29 billed annually) with a 7.5% fee on Starter, and rises to $89 and $189 per month.

Does Teachable have a free plan?

No. Teachable lists a 7-day free trial on its plan cards plus a 30-day money-back guarantee, and a pop-up offers a 30-day trial on Builder monthly. Systeme.io's free plan never expires and needs no credit card.

Which is better for courses, Systeme.io or Teachable?

Teachable. It lists student mobile apps on every plan, AI creation tools, certificates on Growth and up to 1TB of video. Systeme.io's course area is more basic and capped at 1 course on Free and 5 on Startup.

Can I book coaching sessions on Systeme.io or Teachable?

Not in a coaching-ready way. Our September 2026 profiles found no 1:1 scheduling tied to client records on Systeme.io and no native scheduling or calendar sync on Teachable, so coaches typically add a separate scheduler. Coachful includes booking with two-way calendar sync and reminders.

Does Teachable take a cut of my sales?

On Starter, yes: 7.5% per transaction. Builder, Growth and Custom have a 0% platform fee. Card and PayPal processing fees apply on every plan.

Can I use both Systeme.io and Teachable together?

Some coaches do, with Systeme.io for funnels and email and Teachable for course delivery. That means two subscriptions, two logins and syncing buyers between them, and you would still need separate tools for booking and contracts.

When is Coachful a better choice than both?

When you deliver coaching programs with sessions, habits, check-ins and accountability between calls. Coachful keeps booking, payments, contracts, programs, courses and community on one client record. If you only sell courses or need a free funnel tool, Teachable or Systeme.io may suit you better.

What is Coachful's free white-glove service?

On every plan, you can ask the Coachful team to build a website, funnel, sales page, program, email sequence or similar inside your account, usually within about 24 hours. You can attach reference links and files, and the team never invents credentials, testimonials or prices. It does not cover video recording, logo design or ads.

Does Coachful support PayPal like Systeme.io and Teachable?

No. Coachful takes payments through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account, including Apple Pay and Google Pay. If your buyers depend on PayPal, factor that in.

Can I move my students from Teachable to another platform?

Yes. Teachable exports students and sales reports to CSV, but course videos have to be downloaded manually. Coachful imports your clients, programs and content for you during onboarding.
