Trainerize Free Trial (2026): Length, Card Rules and Costs

Trainerize Free Trial (2026): Length, Card Rules and Costs

The Trainerize free trial lasts 30 days, covers unlimited clients and needs no credit card, as listed in October 2026. When it ends, your account drops to the free 1-client plan with no charge. Staying with more than one client costs from $10 a month for 2 clients, $25 a month for 5 and $135 a month for 50, and add-ons cost extra and are not part of the trial.

That makes it one of the lower-risk trials in fitness coaching software, because you cannot be billed by forgetting. The real risk sits elsewhere: the trial shows you the training app without the scheduling, payments, video and advanced nutrition add-ons many coaches end up paying for. This guide covers the trial terms, what day 31 looks like, every published price, and what a coach pays at three client counts. We make Coachful, one of the alternatives compared below, so weigh our recommendation with that in mind. All vendor facts come from what the company publishes, not from hands-on testing.

Here is the short version of the terms:

  • Length: 30 days.
  • Clients during the trial: unlimited.
  • Credit card: not required.
  • Add-ons: not included during the trial.
  • At the end: the account reverts automatically to the free plan with 1 client. You do not need to cancel.
  • Cost to stay: a paid plan sized to your client count, plus any add-ons you need.

What does the Trainerize free trial include?

The trial includes the core ABC Trainerize coaching product for unlimited clients for 30 days, but no add-ons. The company states that plainly in its pricing FAQ: "Add-ons are not included in the trial period."

The unlimited-client part is the generous bit. You can bring your whole roster across and see how clients respond to the app, which is the question a trial should answer.

What ABC Trainerize is good at shows up in that window. It is a fitness and personal-training app built around workouts, habits, nutrition tracking and messaging, with a client mobile app at its centre. Its plan cards list an AI Workout Builder, custom programs, meal and macro tracking, app and wearable integrations, custom exercise videos, consultation forms and challenges across the paid tiers.

The pricing page does not say which paid tier's features the trial mirrors. It promises unlimited clients and excludes add-ons, and that is all it commits to. If one feature decides the purchase, such as the AI Workout Builder or custom exercise videos, confirm it works in your trial account during the first few days rather than assuming.

The add-ons left out are the ones that run the business side:

  • Business add-on: scheduling, referrals, selling products and premium content.
  • Stripe Integrated Payments: in-app payments.
  • Video Coaching: video calls and streaming.
  • Advanced Nutrition Coaching: the deeper nutrition tools.
  • FitMetrics: priced per client, from $6.

So a trial can tell you whether clients will log workouts in the app. It cannot show you how booking and getting paid will feel, and for many coaches that is where the daily friction lives. The pricing page does not say whether add-ons can be bought during the trial, so ask support if you want to test one.

Build your platform

Do you need a credit card for the Trainerize free trial?

No. The pricing page says "No credit card required" in two places as of October 2026, and the trial needs only an account signup. Because no card is on file, nothing can be charged when the 30 days end.

The same applies to the free plan. It needs no card and, in the company's words, "never expires." That separates ABC Trainerize from tools that take a card up front. Coachway, for example, requires a card to start its 14-day trial and sends a billing reminder 3 days before the end, so forgetting there has a price. If you are comparing several trials at once, our roundup of coaching software with a free trial covers the wider field.

What happens when the Trainerize trial ends?

Your account automatically reverts to the free plan, with 1 coaching client and no charge. You do not need to cancel, and you can upgrade to any paid plan at any time, before or after the trial ends.

The part to read carefully is what "1 client" does to a real roster. The trial FAQ stops at the revert. The cancellation FAQ goes further, and describes what moving onto the free plan means for a paying account:

  • You are limited to 1 active client, and all clients above that limit are automatically deactivated.
  • Access to features and add-ons is limited.
  • If you use Payments, active recurring products are cancelled and do not renew.
  • A Custom Branded App is deactivated, and you go back to the main ABC Trainerize app.

The company does not state in so many words that a trial ending works identically, but it describes the same free plan, so plan as if it does. In practice, if you moved 20 real clients over and let day 30 pass, expect 19 of them to lose access until you upgrade. The pricing page does not publish how long deactivated client data stays available or which client stays active, so settle both with support before you invite anyone you are not ready to pay for.

Put a reminder in your calendar for day 25. No charge will catch you out, but a client locked out of a program mid-week is a worse surprise than a bill.

What are the Trainerize plans and prices after the trial?

Paid plans start at $10 a month for 2 clients and rise with your client count, with a 10% discount for annual billing. The table shows the plans as listed in October 2026.

PlanMonthly billingAnnual billing, per monthClient limit
Basic$0$01 client
Grow$10$92 clients
Pro 5$25$235 clients
Pro 15$50 (September 2026 profile)Not printed15 clients
Pro 30$79 (September 2026 profile; the comparison table shows "Small business $79/month")Not printed30 clients
Pro 50$135 (pricing FAQ)Not printed50 clients
Pro 75, 100, 200Not printedNot printed75, 100 or 200 clients
Studio Plus$275 (pricing FAQ, "starts at")$248 (plan card)500, 1,000 or 1,000+ clients; "5+ locations"; contact sales

Two cautions on that table. First, the page is not fully consistent. The plan cards show $9, $23 and $248, which fit the stated 10% annual discount, while the FAQ says Grow "starts at $10," Pro "starts at $25" and Studio Plus "starts at $275 for up to 500 members." We read the higher figures as monthly billing and the lower ones as annual, but the labels deserve a check at checkout.

Second, not every Pro tier has a printed price. The $50 and $79 figures come from our September 2026 profile of the company, and the Pro 75, 100 and 200 prices are not published in the page text at all. Confirm your tier's price at checkout or with support. Our full Trainerize pricing breakdown covers the plans in more depth.

ABC Trainerize's pricing page in October 2026.

What does each Trainerize plan add?

Each step up buys more client seats plus a batch of features, and the jump from Grow to Pro is the one most working coaches will care about. The plan cards break down like this.

  • Basic (free, 1 client): the mobile app, workouts, basic messaging, and habit and lifestyle coaching. The FAQ also mentions basic nutrition tracking. It fits a coach trying the app on one person, not a business.
  • Grow (2 clients): AI Workout Builder, custom programs, meal and macro tracking, a Trainerize.me profile, and app and wearable integrations.
  • Pro (5 clients and up): custom exercise videos, welcome emails, consultation forms, advanced messaging and challenges. Pro also opens the Custom Branded App, a one-time $169 setup that adds your logo and colours to the Trainerize app.
  • Studio Plus (500 clients and up, 5+ locations): group video calls, recipes and meals, referral links and prospect booking, onboarding and API access. It includes all add-ons and a studio-level branded app, fully white-labelled under your brand name in the app stores.

The gap to notice is between the top Pro tier and Studio Plus. Below Studio Plus, the features that run a business stay as add-ons. A coach with 50 clients on Pro still pays separately for scheduling and payments, which is the subject of the next section.

Which Trainerize fees and add-ons sit on top of the plan?

Below Studio Plus, scheduling, payments, video and advanced nutrition are each a separate monthly charge, and together they can add $65 to $90 a month. These are the add-ons as listed in October 2026.

Add-on or feePriceWhat it coversIn the trial?
Business$25/monthScheduling, referrals, selling products, premium contentNo
Stripe Integrated Payments$10/monthIn-app payments; Stripe's own processing fees apply on topNo
Video Coaching$10/month50 hours of video calls and 100 hours of streaming a monthNo
Advanced Nutrition Coaching$20/month on Grow, Pro 5 and Pro 15; $45/month on Pro 30 to 200Deeper nutrition coaching toolsNo
FitMetricsFrom $6/clientPriced per client; billing period not stated in what we reviewedNo
Custom Branded App (Pro)$169 one-time setupYour logo and colours in the Trainerize appNo
Apple Developer account (studio apps)$99/year, paid to AppleNeeded to publish to the App Store independentlyNot applicable

Transaction fees are not shown on the pricing page. Our September 2026 profile records that in-app payments require the Stripe add-on and that Stripe's fees apply, and nothing we read mentions an extra percentage from ABC Trainerize itself. Clients pay nothing to use the app, according to the FAQ, so the whole bill lands on the coach.

Seat pricing is the other cost driver, because there is no overage line as such. When you pass your client limit, you move to the next Pro tier. Upgrades take effect immediately, so a single new client at the top of a tier can move your whole monthly price up.

What does a coach actually pay at three client counts?

On monthly billing with all four main add-ons, a coach pays about $90 a month at 5 clients, $115 at 15 and $169 at 30, as an example worked from the prices above. That is before any website, email or course tool you still need beside it.

The table excludes FitMetrics and the one-time branded app fee. The 15 and 30 client plan prices are the September 2026 profile figures.

Setup5 clients15 clients30 clientsTools still needed beside it
CoachfulLite: $29/month for up to 5 clientsSolo: $49/month for up to 20 clientsPro: $99/month with unlimited clientsNone for booking, payments, contracts, courses, community, website, funnels or email; only Stripe or Razorpay processing on top
ABC Trainerize, plan only$25$50$79Scheduling, payments, video, website, funnels, email marketing, courses, and a way to sign agreements
ABC Trainerize, plan plus Business and Stripe add-ons$60$85$114Video, website, funnels, email marketing, courses, and a way to sign agreements
ABC Trainerize, plan plus Business, Stripe, Video and Advanced Nutrition$90$115$169Website, funnels, email marketing, courses, and a way to sign agreements

Annualised, the fully loaded example comes to $1,080, $1,380 and $2,028 a year. Add Stripe's processing fees on whatever you collect, plus whatever you pay for a website builder and an email tool. We have left those out rather than guess at your choices, so price your own and add them in.

Notice how the add-ons change the shape of the bill at the low end. At 5 clients, the plan is $25 and the add-ons are $65, so the extras cost more than twice the plan itself. A coach reading "$25 a month" on the pricing page and a coach paying $90 are on the same plan.

What are the hidden costs and gotchas?

The trial itself holds few traps, but several things catch coaches once they start paying. These are the ones the company's own documentation points to.

  • You test without the add-ons you may rely on. A smooth month in the trial says nothing about the scheduling, payments or video experience, because none of those are in it.
  • No refunds on unused time. The FAQ says ABC Trainerize "does not issue refunds for unused portions of a subscription." Paying annually to save 10% and then leaving mid-year costs you the rest.
  • Downgrades wait, upgrades do not. Upgrades apply immediately. Downgrades to a smaller plan apply at the end of the billing cycle, so a shrinking roster does not lower this month's bill.
  • Cancelling switches off more than the subscription. Clients above the limit are deactivated, recurring products in Payments stop renewing, and a Custom Branded App goes away. The $169 setup fee is one-time, so plan on it being lost if you leave.
  • Your data may not all come with you. Our September 2026 profile records that client data export excludes messages, photos and attachments. If those matter, export what you can and save the rest before you commit a large roster. Our guide on how to migrate from Trainerize walks through it.
  • Unpublished tier prices. Pro 75, 100 and 200 are not printed in the page text, so a coach planning growth cannot model the bill from the page alone.
  • The website, funnel, email and course gap. ABC Trainerize has no course builder, website or funnel tools, or email marketing, so those stay as separate subscriptions and separate logins.

Public reviews are worth a look too. ABC Trainerize's Trustpilot score was 3.1 from 100 reviews when we checked on October 25, 2026. That is a modest sample, so treat it as a prompt to read recent reviews yourself and not as a verdict. Our Trainerize review covers features and limits in more detail.

How should you run the 30 days?

Treat the trial as a structured test with a decision on a fixed date, not as a month of casual browsing. This schedule is our suggestion for getting a clear answer within the window.

  1. Days 1 to 3: build one real program. Set up a program you actually sell, including your own exercise demos and habit tasks. Note how long it takes and whether the AI Workout Builder and custom videos work in your account.
  2. Days 4 to 7: invite two or three friendly clients. Tell them it is a test. Hold back the rest until you have seen the app work on their phones.
  3. Days 8 to 18: run a normal coaching rhythm. Message, adjust, and review logs. Count how many clients log without being chased, since that is the number the app is supposed to move.
  4. Days 19 to 22: price the business side. Write down what you use today for booking, payments, video, contracts, website and email, and what each costs. Add the add-on prices you would need.
  5. Days 23 to 25: run one comparison. Start a trial of one alternative and rebuild the same program, so you are comparing the same work in both tools.
  6. Days 26 to 29: decide and act. Upgrade before the revert if you are staying, or move test clients off if you are not, and tell them what is happening.

Keep real payments and long-term commitments out of the test unless you have settled what happens at the end. A client who has only logged two weeks of workouts loses little if the account reverts. A client on a recurring payment plan is a different story.

Which one looks like you?

Coachful builds your coaching website from a few answers, in a design chosen for your niche, with programs, booking and payments ready behind it.

Build your platform

Is Trainerize worth paying for after the trial, by coach type?

It is worth paying for if your work is mostly programming workouts and you already have your business tools sorted. It gets harder to justify when you are paying add-on prices to fill gaps or running a business that goes beyond training plans.

  • A personal trainer adding online clients to gym work. A good fit. Booking and payments often run through the gym, so you may need few add-ons, and the training app does its job at $25 to $79 a month.
  • An online fitness coach with wearable-using clients. Also a reasonable fit. App and wearable integrations are on the plan cards from Grow up, and that is a real difference from Coachful, which has no Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop or Oura sync.
  • A very small coach with one or two clients. The free Basic plan or $10 Grow plan is hard to beat for a pure training app. Everfit's free plan, covering 5 clients, is worth comparing at this size. See our list of the best free coaching software.
  • A nutrition or health coach. Check the bill carefully, because Advanced Nutrition Coaching costs $20 to $45 a month on top, and it is not in the trial. Our guide to Trainerize alternatives for nutrition coaches compares the options. Whichever tool you use, coaching is not medical treatment: keep to general guidance, and refer clients with diagnosed conditions, signs of an eating disorder, or medication questions to a doctor or registered dietitian.
  • A coach selling programs, courses and a community. A weak fit. There is no course builder, website, funnels or email marketing, so you would pay for the app and still run several other tools.
  • A growing solo coach adding a small team. Compare carefully. Business features sit in add-ons until Studio Plus, which targets 500 or more clients and 5 or more locations, so there is a wide middle where you keep paying per feature.
  • A multi-location gym. Studio Plus was designed for you, with all add-ons and a white-labelled app included. Get a quote, since the page says to contact sales at this level.

How does the Trainerize trial compare with other coaching software?

Several rivals match the 30 days or the no-card rule, so the trial alone should not decide this. Total cost and what you still need beside the tool matter more. Here is how the options sit, with vendor figures as listed in October 2026.

Where do coaches outgrow Trainerize, and why choose Coachful?

Coaches outgrow it when the job stops being only training plans and starts including booking, selling, contracts, courses, a website and email. That is the point where we recommend Coachful, because one subscription covers all of it with one login for the coach and one branded app for the client.

Coachful's analytics dashboard on a laptop and a client habit tracker on a tablet, in a small training studio
Coachful's analytics dashboard on a laptop and the client habit tracker on a tablet, both with demo data, in a small training studio.

What Coachful is. A coaching platform that covers booking, payments, contracts, program delivery with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant. It suits coaches who deliver programs and not just sessions, solo coaches growing into a small team, and coaches replacing 4 to 6 tools. Its Trustpilot score is 4.5 from 21 reviews, also a small sample.

What trainers keep. The Fitness & Nutrition pack includes a workout builder with an illustrated exercise library, supersets, circuits, AMRAP, EMOM, intervals and tempo. Clients log workouts with set history and PRs. It also has nutrition targets up to calories and macros, meal plans, recipes, food lookup and barcode scanning, private progress photos and measurements, weekly check-ins, and private form-check video with timestamped coach comments. Coaches attach their own demo videos. More on this for fitness coaches.

What is included in your Coachful membership that is an add-on or absent elsewhere.

  • Booking with availability rules, buffers and two-way Google, Apple and Outlook calendar sync, plus built-in video or auto-created Zoom, Meet and Teams links.
  • Payments through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account, with one-time charges, subscriptions, payment plans, coupons and refunds. The Coachful platform fee is 0%, so you pay only Stripe or Razorpay processing.
  • Coaching agreements with e-signature, sent before the first call and stored on the client record.
  • Courses with modules, drip and completion tracking, delivered into the client's branded home and app.
  • A community feed, group chat, direct messages and video events, with cohort groups created automatically on program enrollment.
  • A website builder with 30 designed homepage templates, booking and checkout funnels, plus email lists, broadcasts and multi-step sequences.
  • Michelle, the built-in AI assistant, which works from live practice data to build programs, draft emails and brief you before sessions. Questions and planning are included in the membership; confirmed builds and changes use AI credits.

Coachful website builder listing the home page and subpages
Coachful's website builder, listing a demo home page with About, Work With Me, Results and Contact subpages.

What Coachful does not do. It has no Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop or Oura sync, and Apple Health sync is not publicly available. There are no stock exercise videos, so your demos are your own. It has no PayPal and no permanent free plan. The client app ships under the Coachful listing with your branding, not under your own App Store account. It is not HIPAA-certified, has no BAA, and is not for clinical record-keeping or insurance billing, so clinical records belong in a clinical system. If wearable data drives your coaching or you need your own App Store listing, ABC Trainerize's integrations or Studio plan may suit you better.

Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. From Create, a coach can describe what they want built, such as a website, funnel, offer page, program, email sequence, form or link in bio, and attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files. The Coachful team builds it inside the coach's own account, usually within about 24 hours. Nothing gets invented: no fake credentials, testimonials or prices, and gaps are left for you to fill. It does not include recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing. Read more about the white-glove service.

How can you save money on Trainerize?

The biggest savings come from buying only the add-ons you use and sizing your Pro tier carefully. The annual discount helps less than it looks, because of the no-refund rule.

  • Use all 30 days before upgrading. There is no reason to pay early, since you can upgrade at any time before or after the trial ends. The one exception is if your roster would otherwise lose access on the revert.
  • Add add-ons one at a time. Start without any, then buy only the one causing the most friction. If you already pay for a booking tool you like, Business at $25 a month may be a duplicate.
  • Watch your active client count. Tiers are set by client count, so deactivate people who have finished before a new client pushes you up a tier.
  • Take annual billing only once you are sure. It saves about 10%, which is $24 a year on Pro 5 ($25 to $23 a month). The FAQ says there are no refunds on unused time, so a mid-year exit can cost more than the saving.
  • Time your downgrades. Downgrades apply at the end of the billing cycle, so make the change well before renewal if your roster has shrunk.
  • Weigh the $169 branded app. Clients see your logo and colours, which is pleasant, but it is deactivated if you cancel. Try the trial without it and see whether clients care.
  • Re-run the sums at each tier jump. Past about 15 clients, flat or uncapped plans from other vendors can cost less than a per-client ladder, so check the comparison above before moving up.

If the add-ons and the outside website and email tools are what is pushing up your bill, a single subscription may save more than any of these tricks. Compare the options side by side, or read how we think about coaching software overall.

Frequently asked questions

How long is the Trainerize free trial?

It lasts 30 days, as listed in October 2026. During that time you can coach unlimited clients. Add-ons such as Business, Stripe Integrated Payments and Video Coaching are not included.

Does the Trainerize free trial require a credit card?

No. The pricing page says no credit card is required. Since no card is on file, you cannot be charged when the trial ends unless you choose to upgrade.

What happens to my clients when the Trainerize trial ends?

The account reverts to the free plan, which allows 1 client. The company's cancellation FAQ says clients above the free limit are automatically deactivated, so plan for the same result at the end of the trial. Upgrade before day 30 if you want your roster to keep access.

Is the Trainerize free plan different from the free trial?

Yes. The trial is 30 days with unlimited clients, while the free Basic plan has no end date but covers only 1 client. Basic includes the mobile app, workouts, basic messaging and habit coaching. The trial turns into Basic when it ends.

How much does Trainerize cost after the free trial?

Grow is $10 a month for 2 clients, Pro starts at $25 a month for 5 clients, and the FAQ lists $135 a month for 50 clients. Annual billing takes about 10% off. Add-ons run from $10 to $45 a month each, and they are the main thing to budget for.

Can I get a refund from Trainerize if I upgrade and change my mind?

The FAQ says the company does not issue refunds for unused portions of a subscription. You can cancel at any time and plans are month-to-month unless you choose annual billing. That makes monthly billing the safer choice while you are still deciding.

Can I test scheduling and payments during the Trainerize trial?

Not as part of the trial, because scheduling sits in the Business add-on and in-app payments in the Stripe add-on, and add-ons are not included. The page does not say whether you can buy them during the trial, so ask support. Otherwise, budget for at least one paid month to test them properly.

Is there a better option than Trainerize for coaches who sell more than training plans?

We recommend Coachful for that case, because booking, payments, contracts, courses, a community, a website, funnels and email are included in your Coachful membership. The Fitness & Nutrition pack covers workouts and nutrition. If wearable sync is essential, ABC Trainerize remains the better fit, since Coachful has none.

What is Coachful's white-glove service?

It is a free build service on every plan. You describe what you want, such as a website, funnel or program, and the Coachful team builds it inside your account, usually within about 24 hours. It does not cover recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing.
