Arketa vs Momence: Which Fits Coaches in 2026?

Arketa vs Momence: Which Fits Coaches in 2026?

Arketa vs Momence comes down to who you are running the software for. Both are booking and studio-management platforms built around classes, memberships and class packs, so they suit yoga, Pilates, dance and fitness studios far better than coaches who sell multi-week programs. Arketa publishes one price (its Individual plan at $49 a month billed annually, plus a 3% transaction fee on top of Stripe), while Momence publishes no prices at all and quotes after a sales conversation. If you teach classes to a rotating roster, either can work. If you coach clients one to one or in cohorts between sessions, neither was designed for that job.

This guide compares the two honestly for coaches: what each documents on its own pages as listed in October 2026, what it costs, where each is strongest, and which kind of coach should pick which. We make Coachful, a coaching platform, so near the end we explain when it beats both and when it does not. You can skip straight to that section, but the Arketa and Momence comparison stands on its own.

What is the short answer by use case?

Pick Arketa if you are a solo instructor who wants a published price and a self-serve start; pick Momence if you run a multi-instructor studio and are happy to go through a demo. If you coach rather than teach classes, look at a coaching platform first.

  • Solo yoga, Pilates or fitness instructor running classes and a few private sessions: Arketa's Individual plan is the easier start, because the price is public and the feature list (classes, appointments, video library, packages, memberships, waivers) is spelled out.
  • Studio with several instructors, rooms and a front desk: both vendors sell custom studio plans. Momence positions itself squarely at studios (yoga, Pilates, dance, indoor cycling, fitness and gym, boutique) and bundles an AI Inbox and marketing into the conversation. Arketa's Studio Core, Growth and Suite tiers add point of sale, payroll reporting, campaigns and a branded app.
  • Coach selling 1:1 packages, 12-week programs or group cohorts: neither tool is built around program delivery with habits, check-ins and goals between sessions. A coaching platform such as Coachful covers that, along with booking and payments.
  • Coach who wants one login for website, funnels, email, booking and delivery: Arketa puts its branded website and marketing suite behind add-ons or higher tiers with unpublished prices, and Momence quotes everything. That makes the total cost hard to compare until you talk to sales.

If you are still mapping the wider market, our coaching software overview and the comparison hub lay out the main categories.

How do Arketa and Momence compare side by side?

On paper they overlap heavily: booking, memberships, packs, Stripe payments and marketing. The differences are in pricing transparency, how far the entry plan goes, and what each one emphasises.

Criteria for this comparison: one login for the whole client journey, delivery between sessions, total stack cost, and setup effort (including whether someone will build it for you).

As listed in October 2026, Momence's site carries the name "Xplor Momence" in its footer, and its pricing page describes the product as bringing "bookings, payments, and marketing together in one flexible and intuitive platform". Arketa's pricing page lists features plan by plan, which makes it easier to see what you get before you speak to anyone.

How does pricing compare?

Arketa shows one number; Momence shows none. That single fact shapes the buying process more than any feature difference.

Arketa pricing page with the Individual plan and Studio tiers
Arketa's pricing page in October 2026.

Arketa's Individual plan is listed at $49 a month billed annually, for one team member login and one location. The monthly-billed price is not shown. On top of the subscription, Arketa charges a 3% transaction fee, and Stripe's own processing applies as well (US 2.9% plus $0.30 per card payment). The three studio tiers (Studio Core, Studio Growth and Studio Suite) are priced by demo, and their transaction fee line reads "Let's talk". Arketa also lists add-ons without prices: Branded Mobile App, Marketing Suite, Branded Website, Accounting and Bookkeeping.

Momence pricing page asking visitors to talk to sales for a quote
Momence's pricing page in October 2026.

Momence's pricing page says "Let's talk pricing" and "Every business is different", then invites you to book a demo. There is a "Start free trial" link, but its length and terms are not stated. Momence's help center shows Stripe processing fees in transaction details; any Momence platform fee is not published.

Here is why the 3% fee matters for a coach. As an example, if you collect $3,000 a month in client payments through Arketa Individual, the 3% fee is $90 a month, or $1,080 a year, before Stripe's processing. Add the $588 a year for the subscription and the platform costs about $1,668 a year at that volume, and the fee grows as you grow. A coach selling higher-ticket programs feels this more than a studio selling $20 drop-ins. Run your own numbers with your real monthly revenue before you compare.

With Momence, you cannot run that calculation until sales gives you a quote. That is not necessarily worse (a quote can be good value for a busy studio), but it means you cannot compare on cost from the outside. If you prefer transparent pricing, our breakdowns of Calendly pricing and HoneyBook pricing show how other booking and client tools price their plans.

How do the features compare, section by section?

Both tools are strong at class booking and recurring revenue from memberships and packs. They are thinner, on their published pages, at the parts of coaching that happen between sessions.

Booking and scheduling

Arketa Individual includes unlimited group classes, appointments, workshops and events, waitlists, Google Calendar sync and email and SMS reminders. Momence says customers "can book and buy classes, courses, and workshops all on the same calendar". For a studio, both cover the core job of filling a timetable. For a coach whose calendar is mostly 1:1 sessions and a weekly group call, the class-first design adds concepts (rooms, capacity, waitlists) you may never use.

Memberships, packages and payments

Arketa lists packages and memberships, gift cards and referrals on Individual, all through Stripe. Momence is built around memberships and packs, also on Stripe. Neither lists PayPal. Both handle the "buy a 10-class pack" model well; neither publicly documents payment plans, order bumps or coupons the way coaching checkouts often need, so ask about those in a demo if you rely on them.

Client records and intake

Arketa Individual includes a client CRM, intake forms and waivers. Momence's pricing page talks about business operations and managing bookings, marketing and staff in one place; the detail of its client record is not published on the pages we checked. If you need coaching agreements signed before the first call, check how each one handles e-signature, because neither pricing page mentions it.

Programs and content

Arketa includes an unlimited video library and "programs" on Individual, which is useful for on-demand workouts. Momence mentions courses alongside classes and workshops. What neither pricing page describes is a structured coaching program: weekly goals, daily tasks, habits with streaks, morning and evening check-ins and progress bars that a coach reviews before each call.

Marketing

Momence puts marketing at the centre of its pitch, with "marketing based on real client behaviors" and automation inside the same platform, plus an AI Inbox that answers customers when they are ready to book or buy. Arketa keeps email and text campaigns, automated workflows, a lead pipeline, an AI email builder and 1:1 texting on Studio Growth, and lists the Marketing Suite as an add-on. On a solo budget, Arketa's marketing tools are not part of the published entry plan.

Branded app and website

Arketa's custom-branded iOS and Android app, Apple TV and Roku apps, branded website and ad integrations sit on Studio Suite, its top tier, or as add-ons. Momence does not publish what its app and website options cost. If a branded experience matters, get this priced in writing.

Data export

Arketa lists "full data export" as included on Individual, which is a genuine plus. Momence's data export was not documented on the pages we checked, so ask before you sign.

What is the client experience like on each?

On both, the client experience is built around booking: find a class or appointment, pay, show up. That is exactly right for a studio member and only half the story for a coaching client.

A studio client wants a timetable, a quick checkout, reminders and maybe an on-demand video library. Arketa and Momence both lean into that. A coaching client in a 12-week program wants to see what to do this week, log a habit, answer a check-in, message their coach and see progress toward a goal. That is the part we could not find documented on either vendor's pricing pages as listed in October 2026.

Public reviewers give a mixed but useful signal. On Trustpilot, Momence shows 4.1 from 420 reviews and Arketa shows 2.6 from 7 reviews (both seen 2026-10-25). Seven reviews is too small a base to draw much from, so treat Arketa's score as a prompt to ask for references rather than a verdict.

Which should you pick for which kind of coach?

Choose by the shape of your offer, not by the feature checklist. Classes and drop-ins point to Arketa or Momence; programs and ongoing client work point to a coaching platform.

Mindbody is the other name that comes up in studio searches. As listed in October 2026 it is priced per location, its entry plan "starts at $79 USD/month" with quotes beyond that, and its own FAQ says it "may not be a fit for independent, one-person operators who rent time at a shared location and only need basic booking and payment solutions." It belongs in a studio shortlist, not a coaching one.

What is the third option for coaches: Coachful?

Coachful is a coaching platform: one subscription covers booking, payments, contracts, program delivery with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant. Coaches get one login and clients get one branded app. We make Coachful, so read this section knowing that, and use the "when it does not" list as seriously as the rest.

Who is Coachful for?

Coaches who deliver programs, not just sessions; solo coaches growing into a small team; and coaches replacing four to six tools with one. That includes fitness coaches, health coaches and life coaches who have outgrown a booking-only setup.

Where Coachful beats both Arketa and Momence

Between-session delivery. Multi-week programs carry weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars and streaks. Each client record pulls together goals, check-ins, habits, notes, intake answers, payments and sessions, with a status of thriving, active, quiet or at risk, and an AI briefing before each session.

Booking built for coaching. Booking pages have availability rules, buffers, minimum notice and time-zone detection, with two-way Google, Apple/iCloud and Outlook sync. Sessions get built-in video or auto-created Zoom, Meet or Teams links, email reminders plus SMS (24 hours before) and WhatsApp (1 hour before) once messaging is enabled, paid sessions and session credits, and intake questions on booking. Here is a short walkthrough of how scheduling works inside Coachful.

No platform fee on your sales. Payments run through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account: one-time payments, subscriptions, payment plans, order bumps, coupons, refunds, Apple Pay and Google Pay, and Stripe Tax, with an invoice per transaction plus manual invoices. Since August 2026 the Coachful platform fee is 0%, so you pay only Stripe or Razorpay processing. Compared with a 3% fee on every payment, that difference compounds as revenue grows. Agreements before the first call. Coaching agreements with e-signature go out before the first session and stay on the client record. See coaching contracts.

The client's side. Clients see their next session, pre-session tasks, programs, progress and documents in one coaching hub, plus courses, downloads and a community feed with group chat, direct messages and video events. Cohort groups are created automatically when someone enrols in a program.

Website, funnels and email included in your Coachful membership. A section-based website builder with blog, custom domain, SEO settings and 30 designed homepage templates; booking, application, lead-magnet and checkout funnels with pixels and UTM tracking; and email lists, broadcasts and multi-step sequences with triggers, delays, branching and A/B splits. For fitness coaches specifically. The Fitness & Nutrition pack adds a workout builder with an illustrated exercise library (supersets, circuits, AMRAP, EMOM, intervals, tempo), client workout logging with set history and PRs, nutrition targets up to calories and macros, meal plans, recipes, food lookup and barcode scanning, private progress photos and measurements, weekly check-ins, and private form-check video with timestamped coach comments. You attach your own demo videos.

Where Arketa or Momence beat Coachful

  • Running a physical studio. Rooms, class capacity, waitlists, point of sale, front desk and staff payroll reporting are studio tools. Arketa's studio tiers and Momence are designed for that; Coachful is not studio software.
  • A fully own-brand app in the App Stores. Arketa's Studio Suite lists a custom-branded iOS and Android app plus Apple TV and Roku. Coachful's client app carries your branding inside the Coachful app listing, not your own App Store account.
  • PayPal. Neither tool in this comparison lists PayPal, and Coachful does not offer it either, so this is a wash.
  • Wearable sync and stock video. Coachful has no Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop or Oura sync, Apple Health sync is not available publicly, and there are no stock exercise videos.
  • Clinical work. Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and offers no BAA, so it is not for clinical record-keeping or insurance billing. Coaching is not medical treatment; if a client describes symptoms, injuries or conditions that need assessment, refer them to a doctor or licensed clinician and keep clinical records in a clinical system.
  • No permanent free plan. Coachful offers a free trial, then a paid plan.

How much does Coachful cost?

Coachful uses flat monthly plans. Lower plans cap the number of clients, Pro is unlimited, team plans add coach seats with per-coach availability and staff permissions, and monthly plans cancel in one click. Current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients. If you coach around 15 clients, the plan that covers you is Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; for an unlimited roster it is Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients.

Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. From Create, choose "We'll build it for you · FREE", describe what you want (a website, funnel, sales page, program, course outline, email sequence, form, link in bio and more) and attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files such as logos, photos and brand guides. The Coachful team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours. Nothing is invented: no fake credentials, testimonials or prices, and gaps are left for you to fill. It does not cover recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing. In recent builds, a menopause and midlife health coach starting from nothing got a five-page site in sage and cream with every button leading to a free 20-minute consultation, and a leadership coach with a Squarespace renewal days away got one clean homepage with a repeated "talk with me" button. What should you ask Arketa and Momence in a demo?

Because most pricing on both sides is quoted, the demo is where you find the real cost. Go in with a list.

  • What is the monthly-billed price, not just the annual one, and what is the contract length?
  • What transaction fee applies on my plan, on top of Stripe?
  • Which features in the demo are add-ons, and what does each add-on cost?
  • Can clients sign a coaching agreement before booking, and is it stored on their record?
  • Can I run a 12-week program with weekly tasks, habits and check-ins that I review?
  • Can I export all client data, notes and payment history if I leave, and in what format?
  • Do you support payment plans, coupons and order bumps at checkout?

Write the answers down and compare them against a coaching platform's published plans before deciding. If you also run courses or a paid community, our guides to Kajabi pricing and Skool pricing show what those tools would add to your stack.

Do you need studio software at all as a coach?

Usually not, unless you teach scheduled classes to a changing group of members. Studio software assumes a timetable, capacity and recurring memberships; coaching assumes a relationship with a known client over weeks or months.

A useful test: list what you sell. If the list is drop-in classes, class packs and monthly memberships, you are running a studio business, and Arketa or Momence fits. If the list is a 1:1 package, a 90-day program, a group cohort and maybe a course, you are running a coaching business, and you will spend more time working around studio software than using it. Many coaches who start on a booking tool end up stitching on a website builder, an email tool, a course platform and a contract tool. Our GoHighLevel pricing and Kit pricing guides show what those extra layers tend to cost.

Frequently asked questions

Is Arketa or Momence cheaper?

Arketa is the only one that publishes a price: its Individual plan is $49 a month billed annually, plus a 3% transaction fee and Stripe processing, as listed in October 2026. Momence quotes every account after a demo, so you cannot compare until you have a quote in hand. For a small solo business, Arketa Individual is the more predictable start.

Does Momence have a free plan?

No. Momence offers a "Start free trial" link, but the length and terms of the trial are not stated on its pricing page. Arketa also has no free plan, only a free trial button on its Individual plan.

Does Arketa charge a transaction fee?

Yes. On the Individual plan Arketa charges a 3% transaction fee on top of Stripe's processing fee (US 2.9% plus $0.30). For studio plans, the fee is listed as "Let's talk", meaning it is negotiated.

Are Arketa and Momence good for life or business coaches?

They can take bookings and payments, but both are built around classes, memberships and studio operations. A life or business coach who sells programs and works with clients between sessions will usually be better served by a coaching platform that includes programs, check-ins, agreements and a website.

Which has the better client app?

Arketa lists a custom-branded iOS and Android app on its top Studio Suite tier and as an add-on, with prices not published. Momence does not publish its app pricing. Both apps center on booking and buying classes rather than program delivery.

Can I move my data out of Arketa or Momence?

Arketa lists full data export as included on its Individual plan. Momence's data export was not documented on the pages we checked in October 2026, so ask about format and scope before you sign.

What is Coachful's free white-glove service?

It is a build service included on every Coachful plan. You describe what you want (a website, funnel, program, email sequence and more), attach references, and the Coachful team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours. It does not include video recording, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing.

Does Coachful charge a transaction fee like Arketa?

No. Since August 2026 Coachful charges a 0% platform fee, so you pay only the processing fees of your own Stripe or Razorpay account.

Can fitness coaches use Coachful instead of Arketa?

If you coach clients through programs online, yes: the Fitness & Nutrition pack includes a workout builder, workout logging, nutrition targets, meal plans, progress photos and form-check video. If you run a physical studio with rooms, a front desk and point of sale, Arketa's studio tiers or Momence fit that better.

Is Coachful HIPAA-compliant?

No. Coachful is not HIPAA-certified and does not sign a BAA, so it is not suitable for clinical records or insurance billing. Coaching is not medical treatment; refer clients with medical concerns to a qualified clinician.
